What if the most defining moments of your life don't arrive with a bang, but with a quiet alignment of forces beyond your control—forces that ask you to become more of who you already are? Over the next several days, the sky is arranging a sequence of events that will touch something deep in all of us. A waxing gibbous moon builds toward fullness, Venus and Mars grow tense, and the Sun moves into opposition with Pluto—each transit layering upon the next like notes in a symphony you didn't know you were writing.
By Wednesday, July 29, the year's most powerful full moon arrives in Aquarius, joined by Jupiter at the heart of the Sun—a moment that echoes the recent Jupiter-Pluto opposition and opens the door to eclipse season. This is not about grand gestures or dramatic fixes. It's about ordinary, consistent care: hydration, sleep, nourishing food, quiet inward communion, prayer, reflection. The soul doesn't need you to perform. It needs you to show up, again and again, with your whole self.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Happy Friday, everyone! Today we're going to take a look at some of the transits that are going to be heating up over the weekend, coming into next week's astrology, which is arguably the biggest astrological sequence of events of 2026. All of this is debatable, obviously, but when astrologers look at the calendar for the year ahead, we usually circle a couple of key periods where the number of events happening in close proximity, as well as the number of big events happening in close proximity, stands out.
And this is one of those times where it's not just a bunch of transits; it's a bunch of transits in the midst of some of the biggest slow-moving outer planetary transits of the year. I really do think that, although the focus of this channel is personal, the overlap between the personal and the historical, the personal and the collective, is likely to be quite strong in the next couple of weeks, and then we're heading into eclipse season. So what I want to do today is just give you a refresher on what's going to be heating up over the weekend, so that next week when we start looking at things like the Sun Pluto on Monday, Venus squaring Mars coming up right after that, the Jupiter Cazimi, the Jupiter opposite Pluto, all of these things are just going to be popping.
So I feel like it's a good time before we go right into the rush of these astrological experiences to kind of refresh on all of it, and especially on those things that'll be intensifying quite a bit over the weekend. So that's our agenda for today. But before we get into it, as always, remember to like and subscribe. When you subscribe, it's free to do so. It takes two seconds, and it really helps us grow as a community, as a channel, it helps us sustain everything that we do. We appreciate it. Transcripts of any of these daily talks can be found on the website.
That's nightlightastrology.com. I'm going to take you over there for a couple of brief promotions before we get into our talk for the day. As always, right now my book is on sale. Go to the shop page, click on my books. My new book came out in May. It's brand new. The Oracle speaks. It's a collection of stories that are meant to convey something about what astrology is and how it works. And I think stories often show us that more than textbooks. Not that textbooks aren't also great, but the purpose behind this was to try to capture some of the essence of what astrology is and how it works in that magical way that is beyond most of our ability to understand or comprehend.
But stories have a way of capturing it, I think. So I hope you'll enjoy this book. Check it out. Audible versions coming out later this summer. Also go to events. Click oh sorry go to shop. Click on webinars, lectures, and conferences. In case you're not aware, people have been asking me about this. You'll notice that the talks I gave at Norwac, the Norwac conference in May, are also now on sale on the website. So you can find those if you want to hear my keynote talk from the conference, or if you want to hear what I had to say about the mystical Saturn, or get the bundle where all of the different the pre-conference workshop I gave, all the things are there, so you can check that out if you're interested.
Go to the events page, click on monthly, excuse me, sorry, not monthly webinars. Click on community quiet. Every day at Nightlight we meditate. It's free. You can join us seven days a week. Just a way of giving back to the community and creating a little bit more spiritual value in the experience of studying astrology, which I believe is important to pair those things together, in my humble opinion. So that's why I started doing this. Right, let's put Nachepso up on the screen. It's our official astrology software. I'm an affiliate. You can find the discount code if you want to check out Nachepso in the comments section or the description, and hopefully you'll enjoy this software program as much as I'm enjoying it.
Well, let's take a look at everything that's happening. I've got a list of five things to watch for, and I'm going to go through them on the screen with you while we're taking a look at the Athenices software. So we're on here. We are Friday, July 24th. Now Jupiter and Pluto have gone through their opposition this past week, so we looked at that, but that's not over. In fact, we're getting to the place where things are now really heating up. We're in a waxing gibbous moon phase, which means the moon is growing in strength and light. It's kind of thought of as a fiery moon that's building toward a grand finale, like the fireworks on Fourth of July grand finale.
And I say that not lightly because the sequence of events that's unfolding now is really strong. So first of all, let's note that over the weekend we have Venus Mars tension growing. So you can notice right here that Venus in Virgo is within about two degrees here on Friday, July 24 of a square to Mars in Gemini. Now that square between the two planets is going to intensify over the weekend, so you can see by Sunday the two planets are just a degree apart. So over the weekend you're going to notice that Venus and Mars tension is growing. Now, if we take it into next week, we're going to notice that by about Tuesday, July 28, the two planets are exactly square. So between now and Tuesday, we have Venus Mars tension growing.
What does that mean? What does that look like? Well, the classic example of Venus Mars tension is conflict between the genders or sexes. Right? It's like women getting mad at men and men getting mad at women. That's really an oversimplification. However, as Venus rules all relationships, all relating and harmonizing, and Mars tends to rule conflict, competition, or animosity and the desire to win rather than harmonize, let's say, these two planets coming together can ask us the question: What's going to prevail right now? The need to win, or be right, or to win a conflict, or to be peaceful and harmonize.
When Mars is in the superior position, this another way of saying this might be that there's a conflict that's been established because superior superiority in aspect doctrine basically means that Mars sets the stage, and then Venus responds. So Mars brings conflict of a mercurial kind, verbal, mental, with Mercury in Cancer as the host of both of these planets, perhaps a little bit emotional or familial or ancestral, and if that kind of conflict is coming up, and then Venus is being asked to mitigate and create harmony, she's stepping into a scene you might say that requires harmonization of hurt feelings or harmonization of harsh words spoken. So I think the potential here is for certain kinds of verbal, mental, emotional conflicts to need some mediation, to need some pacifying, soothing, easing, harmonizing.
Now that could be in any kinds of relationships, but I think about the fact that both of these planets are being hosted by the Mercury in Cancer, and that comes to my mind as the potential source of the conflict, Mercury on my list here is also just turned direct. We'll talk about that in a second. But could it be that that conflict is really rooted in some very emotionally vulnerable places, or the past? That's another thing that Cancer often speaks to is the past, the history of the soul, so here also the tension between things that are pretty and easy and peaceful and desirable and likable versus things that are a bit more intrusive, invasive, or blunt or sharp or divisive; those energies may be stepping up a bit. So watch for that over the weekend because that's part one, and I really do think it's an energy that you can't help but notice at the same time that we're working into this very powerful full moon.
Okay, well, number two, the outer planets are speaking. We spoke recently. I did an episode on Barbos basket, and we talked about this configuration right here that's taking place. And you know, when I did that episode, I said as much. I said I don't know a ton about Barbo's work other than he's made some remarkable mundane predictions, and he recently died, but he tracked outer planetary cycles in relation to mundane events, and he had some remarkable abilities to be a mundane predictive astrologer, and within that framework, this configuration, this particular exact configuration was something that he had some pretty bold predictions about when it comes to the reorganization or revisioning of things in the collective.
I'll just make it short and brief because again, it's not my wheelhouse to do mundane astrology. So we are in a moment where it is possible that whatever is happening for us personally, that there is very meaningful overlap with things that are happening collectively. I think, for example, the super obvious example is COVID. When COVID happened, it was a global thing that had a lot of personal overlap. All of us had personal impact from that event, good and bad. There were a lot of difficulties. For some people, their businesses blew up. For other people, they lost their job. For some people, they lost family members. For other people, it reset their sense of life direction, maybe in a positive way.
So when we look at a big, huge configuration like this, we can't easily say what the impact of collective events might be on the individual person. It's too vast to speak in generalities like that, but what we can say is that these outer planetary alignments are rare, and point to probably a time where things are happening historically that either now or in let's say the next year or even two years, as some of these planets slowly separate from one another, and that's an important part of studying outer planetary cycles. Richard Tarnas talks about this in his work quite a bit. As the planets sort of separate from these intense moments, often that's when things sort of integrate, and the ramifications or results of certain events start to take shape in future events and plot lines that evolve from that point.
So, in other words, this could be a moment in the next couple of weeks here where collective events are really leaving a mark on us personally, and that again is going to be really unique from person to person. But watch for it because the things happening in the collective may have a way of speaking to you very personally, very intimately, in the weeks ahead. So the outer planets speaking up—that's the next thing. Well, the next thing after that is Mercury's turning direct. So if we back this up to today, right, Friday, July 24, Mercury's station. Now, if you want a little exercise, I recommend taking a look at the whole sign house of Cancer in your birth chart, and just noticing what's come up for me over the past three weeks or so while Mercury has been in this whole sign house of my birth chart.
What has changed with respect to me and the nature of those topics? One of the things that you can do is note what kinds of revisions or course corrections or what kinds of meaningful reflections or internal work has been done in that area of your chart. Now we're looking at Virgo rising right now, so for example, if you're Virgo rising, you could look at Mercury turning direct in the 11th house and reflect on friends and allies and social aspirations, and groups or communities, and what's been happening with respect to your social, worldly ambitions and desires. That's the nature of the 11th house for ancient astrologers. It was a house that spoke not only to groups but to the kind of happiness that we seek from social civic involvement. It could be through vocation, could be through social status. So how has that changed? That's the exercise that I recommend doing right now for everyone over the weekend, as Mercury's turning direct.
It's that process has reached its moment of completion, and we're at the point where Mercury is ready to appear as a morning star, and so you know that's I think you can see like here you can use this I love this on Nichepso, where you can say the speed, motion stationary, the daily travel is less than one degree. It's barely, barely moving. All the really fun data you can just pull up randomly. Anyway, let's go on. Next is what else is happening over the weekend? As the weekend rolls on, you're going to notice that by Sunday, the sun is just half a degree or so away from the exact opposition to Pluto, which is one of the main things I wanted to mention because I don't want you to get here Monday morning and have me talking about the sun opposite Pluto and go thanks for the heads up.
Sun opposite Pluto will be building over the weekend, and many of us, a three degree range was used by ancient astrologers called an engagement range, and in my experience, often transits will occur one, two, three degrees prior to the exact aspect in terms of events that are more acute manifestations of the symbolism. After that separation within three degrees, they can also occur, and so some people really, the analogy I always like to use is like, when do you really feel like it's full moon? The morning of, the night of, the morning after. People have full moon-like experiences within a range of time around the actual exact event of a full moon, and transits are like that too. And astrologers have always had different ways of taking that into consideration.
So over the weekend, you may be having your Sun Pluto opposition experience. In other words, that can mean that your sense of direction and purpose is reaching a point of transformation of meaningful change. You could be going through a bit of an ego death and rebirth or renewal. You could be experiencing changes with respect to leaders or fathers. All of this kind of karma can come up when the two planets are opposed. This will be exact if we take it forward again. It'll be whoops, epic pen. Okay, here we go. It'll be exact by the time you're awake Monday morning probably, and then it separates. And then, last but not least, we have the biggest full moon of the year, and that biggest full moon of the year is coming through on Wednesday, July 29 the same day that Jupiter is Cazimi at the heart of the sun.
That's a big synodic reset for Jupiter that's happening at the same time as a full moon in Aquarius, conjoined loosely conjoined with Pluto. It's within you know degrees within hours of the full moon. There's a conjunction with Pluto. So the recent opposition of Jupiter and the Sun to Pluto is being echoed in the full moon. Then that would that's what makes it the biggest full moon of the year. I looked at all the full moons of the year. I didn't see one that I thought compared to it, especially not with all the surrounding events. And I want you to notice that on this day, Wednesday, July 29, Venus and Mars are still exactly square to one another on the same degree, that little dynamic is still present on the same degree. Thursday, July 30th. Then we start to get separation within a degree by Friday, July 31st.
The other thing that's happening during all of this, by the way, is that between this coming Sunday and Monday, the nodes of the moon also change signs. The nodes of the moon changing signs along the timeline of a full moon is also signaling for us, hey, we're about to enter eclipse season, and this full moon is really opening the door for us to enter an eclipse window. That eclipse window doesn't take place until August New Moon in Leo. It's the 12th, but all of that is just to say that we're entering a period of peak astrological importance. So I wanted to review all of those things, and what advice do I have for people? People always ask me, like, what do I do? And my honest answer to that question is that it's not a big thing that we do. It's ordinary everyday things that we stay consistent with or that we get started with now, the best way to meet and work through astrological transits to whatever extent we can, because let's be honest, there are some transits that are just overwhelming, and no matter how well you take care of yourself, or how well you ground yourself and protect yourself psychically or whatever, the transits are still going to be overwhelming at times.
There's still going to be times where it just doesn't matter what you do. It's just an event that's meant to be transformative and deep and sometimes intense, and that's part of destiny is to go through passages like that and to realize that I am still alive. I'm still a spirit soul, and gradually when we go through experiences like that that we can't do anything about, I think we also learn that our soul is hearty. You know, like our soul is eternal. It hasn't been born and it can't die. And when we connect with that element of our nature in experiences that are overwhelming, I really think those are some of the most valuable experiences we can have. Although I don't like them and I don't ask for them, you know what I'm saying? It's like knock on wood even talking about it like this because I'm purporting some kind of confidence that I don't usually have, but I know that the experiences that I have had that are like that, that I've lived through and survived, and I know you probably know this too, are some of the experiences that deepen our sense of soulfulness.
I'm a living soul. Nothing's at stake in eternity. I'm okay. Everything is okay. The thing that is and will be and has always been is with me and is me. So let's start there. But then from there, what can you do? I think it's as simple as you know. Are you hydrated? Do you need a snack? You know, like no, I'm playing, but like getting enough sleep, trying to eat nourishing food, being around nourishing people, going inward every day. I think sitting quietly, being rather than doing, is something everyone ought to do. But I'm, you know, that's my little, I'm evangelical about that. You know, taking care of your body, going for walks, regular inward communion where you can just be with yourself and listen to yourself inwardly, prayer, reflection, and altar practice.
When we make all of these things regular, that's so much more effective than being like, "What's this big dramatic thing I can do?" When I'm not doing any of that regularly, how meaningful is it going to be to try to remediate something that we're not thinking about? If we're not thinking about remediation as a daily thing, how much sense does it make to try to do one big thing to remediate something? It just doesn't work that way. I'm getting tongue-tied trying to explain it, but you get what I'm saying. Okay, well, that's what I've got for the day. I hope you're having a really beautiful day today. I feel like let's hold hands and walk through the forest of these experiences together. I hope that this channel gives you a sense that you're not alone in whatever's coming in the next couple of weeks. That none of us are, and yeah, it feels good to know that there are other people out there that see the world through the lens of astrology and feel comforted by it. All right, that's all I've got. Have a great day. Have a beautiful weekend. Bye.
