Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Happy Monday, everybody. Today, we're going to take a look at all of the major astrological transits for the week ahead. That's today, June 23 through the 29th. This week's big news is really the Jupiter cazimi that will take place right before a new moon coming off that cazimi in the sign of Cancer.
So it's a really big week for Jupiter being reborn in its Synodic Cycle with the sun and then a new moon, basically coming in right at that moment, just on the heels of that moment. So that will be our major focus for the week.
There's also a whole bunch of aspects that Mercury is making this week, which maybe not any of them individually is the biggest news in the world, but put them all together in a sequence from about midweek through the end of the week, and you have a very mercurial week. So we're going to talk about that as well.
I'll do some whole sign horoscopes for the cardinal rising signs. You could listen for your sun sign as well. That will be receiving the Jupiter cazimi and new moon in Cancer in one of your Angular houses. And then we will also probably, I think we'll probably do some horoscopes for the Jupiter cazimi later in the week as well.
So anyway, that is our agenda for today. Before we get into it, as always, remember to like and subscribe, share your comments and reflections. It's my hope that this channel is home for your daily spiritual practice of astrology, and it means a lot to us when you like and subscribe.
You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on my website, which is NightlightAstrology.com. Head over to the website. We are officially in enrollment season. If you still want to join the class, of course you can join a little bit late. But in terms of promotions, there's only one thing to promote today.
If you go to Live Talks, you will see my next talk on the ninth house is July 10. So my monthly webinars continue throughout the summer. Check out that July talk on the ninth house. Hope to see some of you there, and be sure if you haven't yet to check out the need-based astrology readings.
This offers different tiered pricings on our astrology readings with our staff and some of our talented alumni. It's meant to make sure that your astrology readings are affordable and accessible for people coming from different financial circumstances.
So on that note, let's see here. I'm going to put the real-time clock up, and let's have a look. So today is Monday, June 23. I'm going to take us through the transits of the week in a list, just show you them on the real-time clock. I'm going to comment briefly on some of them as we go, and also give you a sense of what we will be focusing on as the week continues.
Cardinal horoscopes at the end. And then I'm going to also tell you what's on my altar this week, in case you have an altar practice and you're following along or want something to creatively riff off from. We'll talk about that at the end as well.
So anyway, today, June 23, the sun is squaring Neptune. This starts our week off, and I need my epic pen. I just realized my epic pen. Here we go. So you can see right here, the sun at two degrees of Cancer is squaring Neptune at two degrees of Aries.
The square comes through pretty early, like by the time you're listening to this, the square is already passing over. It's a very brief square. And of course, yesterday, on Sunday, we had the sun square to Saturn. So you would have been experiencing the building square between Sun, Saturn, and Neptune over the weekend, kind of finishing off today.
All I would say with this one is, um, actually, what I'm going to do is go through the list first. I almost betrayed my own little sense of order. Okay, sometimes it's good to do that. Anyway, next day we move to the Jupiter cazimi, and you will see that Tuesday, June 24, we have the Jupiter-Sun cazimi.
And that cazimi is effectively the reset for Jupiter in its Synodic Cycle with the sun. It's a death and rebirth moment. However, Jupiter is greatly protected from the combustion of that moment by virtue of being in its own exaltation.
And then if we go forward one more day to Wednesday, we're going to see that it's early Wednesday morning that the new moon in Cancer is coming through. You can see this moment right about here. This is Wednesday at like five in the morning, central time or so. It's pretty close right about there.
So that new moon in Cancer, as you can see, is just not even a half a degree or so off from the cazimi with Jupiter. So this is a major moment in the astrology of the year, as well as the astrology of this week.
Then as the week goes on, we have some more minor, quick-moving aspects. You might say we're going to see that the sun and Mars get a little sextile, very energizing, activating little sextile. We'll talk about that.
And then we go on the same day. Now we're starting to get into a series of Mercury aspects. These aspects are just one after another and really define the end of the week. So on the 26th, going to move forward today, we're going to see that Mercury will enter the sign of Leo.
And as soon as it enters the sign of Leo, we're going to see a sextile with Uranus. It's actually just before it enters, excuse me, so it's at the culminating degree of Cancer. Sorry, right there you'll see, on the 26th, a little sextile to Uranus in Taurus, and then just hours later, Mercury will enter Leo, not even an hour later.
So Mercury in late Cancer sextiles Uranus in late Taurus, and then moves right into Leo the next day, on the 27th. Now we have this sequence of aspects that is taking place around the first degrees of any of the masculine signs.
So Mercury will trine Saturn on the 27th. That trine will happen from about one Leo to one Aries, where Saturn is located. And then the very next day, of course, we'll see the trine from Mercury in Leo to Neptune in Aries at the second degree. So you see this little sequence.
And then on the 29th, on Sunday, we'll get an opposition from Mercury to Pluto. So these aspects from the outer planets to Mercury all form very, very quickly, really, from the 26th through the 29th. So we have three to four days there where Mercury is very, very active.
And that really is the story of the second half of the week. The first half of the week is the Jupiter cazimi along with the new moon in Cancer. And then these Mercury dynamics play out very rapidly as the week concludes.
So now what I want to do is go back and say a few things. There will be some of these transits that I'll say more about now, and others I'll say more about later, just because of the coverage that I'm giving to them this week.
For example, today, the sun is square to Neptune. We're just going to say a few things about that. For today, let me go back to the beginning of the week here on the page. So this is the sun at about two degrees of Cancer squaring Neptune.
Now, anytime the sun is in a square with Neptune, I believe that the light of the sun and its tendency toward ideal images, those shapes in the mind of God that direct our life path because they call to us. They glimmer and catch our attention, catch our imagination and pull us upward toward what we would broadly define as our aspirations.
The sun is like that when it hits a square to Neptune. It's as though there's an intensification of our desires, of our fantasies, of our visions, our hopes, our longings, to the extent that sometimes it becomes impossible to fulfill them, because we live in a world that can only approximate an ideal.
And so Sun-Neptune days can be filled with a sense of discontent and frustration and disillusionment and feeling like everything is less than it could or should be. On the other hand, it can be a very inspiring day where we suddenly see more is possible. Our yearnings, our hopes, our longings, our fantasies, our wishes fuel new actions.
These are cardinal signs. They like to initiate new things. We're about to hit a Jupiter cazimi rebirth moment, which is also a kind of seeding moment. A new moon is coming. So what kind of vision is forming right now today, with the sun square to Neptune, is, I think, a really interesting question that could be very fertile and imaginative.
Now tomorrow, we're going to be talking about the Jupiter cazimi in depth, and we're going to be talking about the new moon on Wednesday. What I'm probably going to do is spend time tomorrow talking about the archetypal meaning of a Jupiter cazimi in Cancer, and then Wednesday, we'll pair that with the new moon, and probably horoscopes for all 12 signs on Wednesday with that new moon and sort of adding the cazimi in as a backdrop.
So I'm not going to say too much about that today, because really that'll be the focus of our next two days. But one thing that is important to say is this is a very powerful new beginning in the sign of Cancer: ancestral healing, emotional connections, the things that we're bonded to through nurturance and devotion, the memories that we carry from past lives or family or ancestry, concern or investment in groups of people that we identify as soul family or as families that were tied together through ideology or belief or race or culture or creed, all the things that bind us really tightly in emotional bonds with other people will be a part of what we're exploring in this new moon cycle.
So these are all, I think, really pretty exciting things to be considering with not only the new moon in Cancer, but also the cazimi, because our whole sense of life purpose and direction tends to start reorienting itself when Jupiter goes through the death and rebirth of a cazimi.
This cazimi sort of has an aura of protection around it. So the typical combustion effect of a new sort of reset, a cazimi moment between Jupiter or sun and Jupiter is probably not going to be as harsh as it might otherwise be, and so the death and rebirth moment may feel a little gentler than a typical combustion.
So if you're someone who knows what I'm talking about with combustions and all that, like I think we have a little bit less to be worried about in terms of the intensity. For example, you know, last couple weeks we had the Mars-Uranus squares, Jupiter and Saturn. Those were very intense transits.
This cazimi reset moment, and the astrology this week in general, is, I think, a little bit lighter. I'm sometimes, I'm always surprised by these things. But I would say this week, comparatively, feels lighter, because we're seeing that Jupiter reset with the protection of the exaltation.
And we're also seeing these planets moving out of the squares with Saturn and Neptune in Aries. So it's as though the flame on the burner is being turned down a little bit, and we're seeing a little bit more of the signatures of Cancer prevailing, or they're stronger notes than the Aries planets have been recently.
That's, I think, the best-case scenario, anyway, but we'll talk more about that tomorrow, and then on Wednesday, the new moon in Cancer. We'll have lots more to say about that. I want to move forward to a little bit further on in the week. This is Thursday, where the sun will sextile Mars.
I think this is a really nice energy to be having, to be experiencing, coming off from a new moon that has a Jupiter rebirth in its exaltation within it. It's a very powerful, very fertile, very creative. And there's a lot of emotion behind the kind of fertile nature of this new moon cycle with the Jupiter reset.
Therefore, when the sun in Cancer has a nice little sextile to Mars in Virgo to start the cycle, it feels like there's a kind of productivity, a feeling of support, something that can foster building something practically, developing something, taking emotional energies, longings, desires, and pooling them into a Mars in Virgo that's very practical and very efficient at getting things done.
So I like that as just a little transit that comes through on Thursday. Then we go into Mercury row on the 26th, that is Friday. We're going to see Mercury having entered Leo, go through the trine. Well, excuse me, first, it's going to, I almost did this earlier too.
Mercury will sextile Uranus right before leaving Cancer. So that little sextile to Uranus in an earth sign, again, feels very favorable. I like that energy. You're taking the emotional dynamism of the sign of Cancer, pairing it with the sort of steadiness and maybe inventiveness of Uranus in Taurus, and the two together might be collaborating again with a kind of practical efficiency.
It's good to have earth around at the same time as water, because whatever level at which things are being fueled by emotion, there's that practical, concrete, earthy "let's turn it into something" quality of earth that's being paired with it.
So the sun sextile Mars in Virgo, Mercury in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus. Those are helpful in terms of just solidly building something or developing something step by step. Then we get into Mercury entering the sign of Leo, at which point, then we have this sort of gauntlet that Mercury is running.
You have Mercury trining Saturn on Friday, and then on Saturday, Mercury trines Neptune, of course, that's because they're just right next to one another in Aries. These trines, to me, are one of the things that like the hallmarks of fire, is that fire is like something formal, just like Earth, they're opposites, but it's formal in the sense of being like a tangible, a tangible form like fire was thought of as the most ethereal and the highest of the elements, closest to the realm of the gods.
And so that like Prometheus stealing the fire. Right, that the fire is emblematic of something that is numinous and lives in a higher plane, the fire connecting with Mercury. I really see the mind on fire, the brain on fire. Thoughts on fire, the intellect and the Mercurial ability to take things apart, to ask well questions, to play with different possibilities and ideas to be broad-minded and yet strategic.
These qualities are sort of getting lit on fire with really nice flowing trines to Saturn and Neptune. But also, you know, it's possible with Mercury in Leo that things like the ego or pride or vanity or self-image would become almost possessive in their nature, or jealous or resentful or proud and sort of hardened.
One of the downsides of fire is that it's sort of just as stubborn as Earth, in the sense that one of the phrases that I've heard used for fire, that I've always appreciated, is the fire wants to shape the world, shape the mold the world to the shape of its will.
Yeah, mold the world to the shape of its will. This could be a very willful series of actions that is sort of executive and maybe heavy-handed and rooted in things like pride and power. I would be very cautious of getting sort of taken over by a fiery, impulsive, domineering quality of mind.
On the other hand, where there's a will, there's a way, determination, focus, confidence, stick-to-itiveness, vision. These combinations of Mercury in Leo, Saturn and Neptune in Aries could be about persevering qualities of mind and ego that we need to tap into.
It's like I am a strong self. I can do things. I can do things that are hard. I can work through doubts and fears and uncertainties and sort of move forward in a strong way. The moon will be in Leo over the weekend as well. So I think those are some of the positives to watch for with the trines to Saturn and Neptune.
Then things culminate on Sunday with an opposition from Mercury to Pluto, Leo to Aquarius. I think the tension between individuality and collectivity will be on display in this pairing. This is one of the more, you know, potentially sort of defiant, maverick, revolutionary, renegade pairings of planets, Mercury in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius, where pride and conformity and things like difference and almost like a rebelliousness are pitted against each other.
So like, how well do I fit in versus how willing am I to stand out? Where do I need to mold myself into and become a part of a collective? How do I need to stand apart from a collective? Am I falling into the trap of overly simplified binaries, like us versus them? This one, this type of person is better than this type of person. I'm on the righteous side. They're on the wrong side.
Those like hard dualities that sometimes Mercury in Leo—I've noticed planets in Leo opposite Mars, opposite Pluto in Aquarius—like Mars in Leo, same thing. It was like, how much do I need to participate in any of these narratives about the way that we categorize people in hard binaries, including ourselves.
Maybe I just don't want to participate in that way of categorizing life or humans. But then how do I do that without setting up a new duality where I'm like, I don't oppose people, I just oppose people who oppose people. It's like, it's like a trap, and it's hard to figure out how to be in this world while not getting overly identified with all these like kind of false binaries, right?
So anyway, the questions around selfhood, individual identity, collective identity, will probably be spiking the need to be liked and to fit in and sort of acclimate socially as a real pressure we all experience. But so too is the pressure to individuate, to find what is authentic to ourselves, and to not conform to something that deviates too far from our authentic nature.
Those pressures are probably going to be felt. There's also maybe some question about the dark or domineering use of will and ego and voice and power and control that we might see like the temptation of Mercury in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius might be to act like a tyrant or act like a dictator, you know, in our relationships or, you know, with friends or at work.
And the question might be, how do I act or behave in a strong way, especially if I'm a leader or I have decisions to make, while being inclusive and not feeling like I'm suppressing or kind of bulldozing other people that I love or care about?
So these are all things to consider, so that will round out the week. Mercury's opposition to Pluto. So you can feel it. I mean, it's just like, wow. Mercury sextile Uranus, Mercury trine Saturn, Mercury trine Neptune, Mercury opposite Pluto. The second half of the week, from like Thursday through Sunday, is just lit up with Mercury.
So also, protect your mind. Protect your nervous system. Protect what you're putting into your eyes and your ears this week toward the end of the week, because those energies are so dynamic that sometimes we don't recognize we're very sensitive beings. And you know, safeguarding your serenity and just being mindful of what kind of stimulus is the right kind, given the quality of these transits, is probably a good idea.
Okay, well, on that note, let us turn back around to this new moon in Cancer. I, as promised, I'm going to take you through the cardinal signs. Let's get our new moon on the screen, and I'm going to bring this around to Aries. I'm just going to do some brief hits for the four cardinal signs.
I'm going to tell you what's on my altar. All right. So here you can see in the first house, Aries, if you're an Aries rising, then you're getting these fourth house transits in Cancer, the cazimi and the new moon in the fourth house, place of home, family, roots, foundations, ancestry.
It's the private or internal sphere of life. What is calling you inward this week? What kinds of themes, topics, people, events are bringing up the past? How is your home life changing? What is the vision or direction of your life right now, with respect to things like family and home, that would be a major topic of consideration this week for Aries.
And also life philosophy as it pertains to home, family and the inner emotional realities of your life that maybe the rest of the world doesn't see as much. But how do you give them some voice in the direction of your life? That may be a significant question, not just for this moon cycle, but for the entire year ahead.
If you're a Cancer rising, then you're getting this also in an angular house. That's your first house, and this is the place of selfhood. So there's a reset happening right now. Is it with respect to your health, your body, self-care? Is it with respect to the topics of family and parenting, and how you as an individual participate in families or groups or various emotional caregiving bonds while also being an individual?
Like this could be a great transit for moms who need to, you know, be a mom, maybe be a wife, but be a professional, but also be an individual. What is the direction of life looking like right now for Cancers, with respect to self-care and with respect to health and wellness?
It's a year really, for Cancers to prioritize themselves without diminishing really, any of their relationships. The idea that both of those things can be true might be somewhat hard for Cancers to recognize, because there's a great feeling of emotional responsibility for others, but there has to be an equal amount of responsibility for your own well-being.
So that's something that I would really look at for Cancers coming up here, not just in this moon cycle, but the year ahead. All right. Well, for Libras, this is in your 10th house, place of career, your the interaction that you have with the public, your calling and sense of place in the world, vocation, things like notoriety, reputation, development of mastery, rank, recognition in the world.
And if you're retired, this is a place where, if you don't yet have a job, this is a place where you start to form those connections in your youth or as an adult. It's a place where you continue to interact with the civic, social world outside of your private life.
Well, how are you connected to that world? Is it through your kids? Is it through family? Is it through things that you're emotionally connected to, and also, just for general, for most Cancers, who will relate to this on the level of career? What is the new direction that's being born?
And how are you reorienting your life through things that you care deeply about emotionally, and if you don't have a sense of real commitment and care emotionally to the things you do for a living, then how can this year be a year of planting new things in the garden and watering them so that more emotional investment is present in your career? If it isn't right now, those would be things that I would watch for for Libras.
Last but not least, we have Capricorns who are getting this new moon cazimi reset with Jupiter in the seventh house of love and relationships. This is a place that refers to not just love and sex and marriage and relationships in strictly related to marriage, but also, broadly speaking, any kind of interpersonal connections and the level of emotional depth, intimacy, connection, bondedness, safety that exists in those relationships.
How is your life being reoriented right now through that realm of relationships? What soft edges are you allowing to be worn down within you as you know, bonds deepen with other people that you care about letting the goddess, letting water, letting emotionality, vulnerability, empathy, sensitivity, lead the way.
This year, interpersonal dynamics, sort of flowering in your life is really good for Capricorns, because Capricorns are so reliable, so durable, so practical and resourceful and smart. But sometimes the relaxation, the intimacy, the letting go and letting someone care for you or caring deeply for others, and setting aside the harder and more necessary tasks of life to do what sometimes feels frivolous, which is to be deeply emotionally invested for no other reason than intimacy itself.
Right? These are things that could be really novel for some Capricorns this year, but either way, the direction for the next month and for the next year takes us into deeper emotional bondedness in interpersonal life and connections. So those are my that, those are the horoscopes for our cardinal rising signs.
And I said we would probably do horoscopes for all 12 signs later in the week. I'm thinking Wednesday on the new moon. I want to close with two things. I want to show you what's on my altar this week. And then I'm also really excited to introduce you to a former Nightlight student, friend of mine named Brandon, who has an astrology program that he has created, and I've had him on before. It's called AstroTheos.
At the end, today, he's going to tell us a little bit about it. In case you want to check it out. There's some really affordable options with his software, which is why I like promoting it anyway. Here's what's on the altar this week. Let's turn our attention.
All right. You can see here that I've got Krishna Radha on the altar now, very happy that they are back. Got them. They came in from India recently. We have some Krishna Radha deities downstairs, but I wanted a pair for my home office, so they're nicely dressed this week.
What's on my altar? Honey. I have organic raw honey that I placed on the altar, because honey is something that I use a little bit of in my pre-workout oatmeal and my morning oatmeal. So last week, you might remember, I added some milk and some fruit, because those are things that I add to my oatmeal.
I add a little bit, not too much, but a little bit of raw honey to my pre-workout, which is a little, just a little bit oatmeal, and to my morning oatmeal in general. So sweetness is something that I wanted to connect more intentionally this week to the sweetness of the Divine.
Now, that might sound a little bit cheesy, but I really do feel like when there are moments in my day, moments in my week, where there's just a little moment of sweetness that occurs. Maybe I'm connecting with my kids, maybe I'm feeling grateful for something. Maybe it's that, you know, post-cardio high for I get for a couple minutes there where I'm like, oh, I feel so good.
So there's just a sweet feeling sometimes I want to try to consciously relate those moments of sweetness to the divine. For me, these are the ways that I try to weave the material of my life into awareness of the transcendental presence that's also there.
So whatever you put on your altar. You know, this phase of my altar practice is really about connecting things in my everyday life to a spiritual domain through remembrance. It's like I can now remember sweet moments and honey and god, god or goddess. You know, I use them interchangeably.
So whatever you put on your altar every week is really your own creative process. And whatever you have on your altar, I think, is it's different for every person. But this is my altar practice for the week. And some people, some people ask, you know, what will you do? As you like, what will you do with the honey?
Well, for me, I'll probably just have, in this case, I'll probably just have that on the altar this week because I've got a separate bottle of honey downstairs, and then at the end of the week, I'll bring it down, and I'll just sort of remember every day when I have the honey in my food, that it's on my altar. So it'll be that simple.
I won't necessarily take this down and back every day, just for simplicity's sake. I just got a second bottle to use this week, but you could, you could put something like honey on your altar, and then you could very naturally take it off, put it on your food, put it back on the altar like it's, you know, for some people, that might even strengthen the connection. So you could do that too.
Okay. Well, I really hope that you guys all have a great week, and I am very excited next to invite my friend and former Nightlight student and alumni, Brandon onto the show to talk about his software program, which is a very price-friendly astrology software that I not only allow or not allow, recommend, there's the word for because people ask, which software programs do you like in your programs?
Well, this is a good one, not only because it works well, but it's also cost-friendly. So I'm going to tell you more about that with Brandon here in a minute. All right, so welcome Brandon. It's been a little bit since you've been here to tell us about your astrology program. You did that last year around this time.
Yeah, and you've done a lot of developing of this software since then, and there's a lot of really cool new additions, and probably a lot of people who don't know about it as well. So I'm just really happy to have you back to talk about your software program.
Yeah, man, thank you so much. It's been a solid year. There's been a ton of development. It's been a lot of work, but, you know, I've gotten a lot of love since the last video we did together. Probably most, if not all, my customers came from that that video, and they've just been so supportive and just really encouraging.
I've gotten a lot of great feedback, a lot of great comments and ideas and stuff like that that really helped to shape the product, and I'm just super humbled and grateful for, you know, the community here and the just love and support. You know, it's AstroTheos is kind of like, my goal isn't really for it to be everything for everyone.
It's really just sort of, you know, I'm focusing on things that I use and that the community around me uses, and building from that. And so, yeah, it's just been a really cool ride since that first video, and I'm super grateful that you've had me on again and excited to share all the cool new stuff.
Yeah. Well, let's without any further ado. Let's take you over there to astrotheoros.com and once you're on the page, you're going to see this when you land there. And it is very easy to sign up. It's browser-based, so it's very accessible. You can also use it on your phone and on your desktop very easily.
I love it because there's it's ease of use, its simplicity and eloquence is a hallmark for me of astrology programs that I really like, because I don't like things to be so complicated that I feel overwhelmed trying to get started. And a lot of people who use astrology software programs, because I see this every year, with hundreds of people coming through our programs.
There's a lot of good programs out there, but some of them are just a little intimidating. And one of the things I love is I don't get anything from this. This is just to support Brandon because he's an alumni of Nightlight. In fact, was one of my very first I used to do private apprenticeships, one-on-one tutoring, and I worked with Brandon one-on-one for a couple of years.
And so I've been friends with Brandon for whatever it's been 15 years now. And so it's just really fun to support you and see what you're doing. But this is AstroTheros. It's very easy to sign up. We'll talk more about pricing and stuff like that. Let me just show you what it looks like when I log in, so I am just going to I'm already logged in.
So once you get a little login, which you do when you sign up, here's the chart in front of you. It's got a ton of very easy options. When you click, you can advance the chart, first of all, like the real-time clock that I use you see on my screen. Here's advancing it by 30 minutes, by an hour, by day week, you can scroll over to one minutes, five minutes, very, very friendly and easy to use on the level of like advancing your real-time clock, which to me, is like a fundamental feature if you want to be tracking astrology every day.
Yeah, exactly. And there's cool keyboard shortcuts. It's really touch-friendly if you use it on an iPad or phone. I'll show you some of the cool new features. In that spirit that you know that interactivity really helps you to, like, explore the stars in ways that I know other tools let you kind of rove around really quickly, but I do like to think that this software's got a little bit of extra emphasis on that interactivity for exploring the stars and really getting something out of it.
Do you want to take over screen sharing? So you can demonstrate some things totally see if we can do that. Let's let me know if you cool? Yeah, I'm ready to go, Okay, I'll add it. Can you should be good, yeah, Brandon's gonna take the wheel now, and he's gonna show you all the really cool features,
yeah, yeah, cuz it's been a big ride. You know, last time I was here, I talked about Saturn, and now I had this mantra of, you know, it is inevitable. And if I keep typing on this keyboard, inevitably, like, I'll build a thing that works. And I got there, and last time I got to show it off.
And since then, I mean, I've refactored so much like I just got done with a big time refactor, because relativity of time in astrology software is really next level when it comes to computer software and the need to have, like, accurate historical dates and all this stuff that any other software out there really doesn't have to deal with.
So it's been a wild ride, but, and then also, as Saturn's gone into Aries, the energy is still there, but it's gone from a sort of, like, dissolve into it is inevitable, into energy. I'm liking more that's like, I'm going to do this thing. I'm going to keep doing this thing. You know what I mean?
Right? A little bit more. Like Rocky, yeah. And I've got Mars in Capricorn, so there's some, like, mutual, uh, reception that I'm really appreciating. And I'm just like, we're, you know, every day I'm going to do this thing, you know so well. Since we last talked the thing, one of the things that I know everyone's going to be really excited to hear is that you've, you've added zodiacal releasing. That's a that's it. There's some other things too, but that's a huge ad and a really great feature to have put into a program this simple and eloquent, yeah,
and really tough. I'll explain some of the details. So, yeah. So just to run through some of the updates, you know, outside of refactors, things like settings updating on the fly. Now you don't have to hit setting save buttons and things like that. There's also new stuff, and I'll use my keyboard to navigate around, because that's just how I roll.
But so there's secondary progressions, solar returns. These required a bunch of under the hood refactors and just like learning how this stuff works. But they're pretty slick, you know, like, if I look at, you know, yeah, like a solar return, the information is just like presented to you in a nice way, and surfaces of the things that are like most relevant to your solar return.
We've got lots of little things. So there's, like, new Zodiac themes, stuff like that. So I can, you know, switch what, what things look like. There's like, some seasonal example, themes and stuff like that. There are also, like, little moon phase glyphs, which I really like. I like to be able to just see the phase of the moon, and I look outside and they're the same. It just kind of connects those two. For me. That's really neat.
I love that. Yeah, yeah. And, and then a big one that I really dig is the chart lock. And it's really simple, but this feature mixed with the ability to, like, isolate something. So if I want to isolate Saturn, and I want to see, like, when does Saturn go into Taurus? You know, I can lock the chart, and then I can move planets without the chart, like spinning around on me.
Oh, that is really nice, dude. That is such a pain, like that. That spinning of the chart there's, there's like, three steps required in the software that I use to get it to stop. So that doesn't happen. So this, like a one-click feature to do that is, that's really cool, yeah.
And you can just shift L, you can lock it, unlock it. You can also shift colon, or you can hit this little arrow, and you can lock to other things. And it's really cool, you know, like, if you're doing rising sign horoscopes, you can just, like, lock to a rising sign, yeah. Or you can lock to something like the sun, and you can learn, like, all kinds of different relationships.
So I can lock to, like, the Sun and Mercury. And then if I just start roving through time by, like, probably days, I can really, I'll go weeks. I can watch how mercury always stays close to the sun, you know. And then I can also look at like Venus, because Venus also always stays close to the sun, but it just goes, like, a little wider, you know, yep, yep.
Whereas if I look at like Mars, like where you have Mars, Mars will, like, go slow and kind of hang out by the sun, and then when it gets to the other side, it likes to go around real quick, really fast, yeah, and then it slows down by the sun. So there's when I first built this feature. I spent a ton of time, just like, you know, locking things together and getting an idea of, like, the relationship between things,
that's really cool. Yeah, so nothing better than visually being able to see it, and sometimes for people, that means trying to get an astronomy program as well as the astrology program. And those features are really cool because you can do a lot of astronomical learning of those cycles without having to take 10 million steps to get there with within the astrology software,
exactly, you know, even just like locking to the ascendant, you know, when you're in a whole sign house is kind of nice, sometimes, when I want to show emotion and and lock to that rather than being locked to the whole sign house. Yep. So there's that, yeah, there's a lot of other things, like buy wheels persist. You know, if I'm, if I'm looking at transits, and there's some date important to Carl Jung, I can switch over to Sigmund Freud and like, the transits persist.
And then there is the aspects table. So the aspects table was like the first, like, big new page thing we made. I say we all the time, but really it's just me working on this. But yeah, so the aspects table, and it's really nice, and it's really responsive, like I can show you got, like, a phone. Oh, there's a preview of the doc releasing. But I've got, you know, this, like, nice experience to explore these aspects in richer detail. And I can look at, like, buy wheels and stuff like that, and it's responsive, not only to how big your devices, but how much information you're actually looking at, like, yeah, if I, if I'm not looking at aspects for, you know, maybe I keep it just to the traditional planets, you know, there's like, more information will show. Basically, yeah, yeah. So the aspects table is pretty cool. People were like, hey, this needs to be there. This should be standard. And so I raced to build that.
Now, the two big fun, cool things I've got, declinations and zodiacal releasing. Which one would you like me to start with first? Let's do declinations first, and we'll finish with Zodiac releasing. Okay, sweet, sweet. Yeah, so this one's kind of fun. So if you don't know what declinations are, essentially, when you're looking at an astrology chart, it's almost like you're standing on the earth and you're facing south.
And I made a whole video to, like, explain how this works, and I got 3d animations going and stuff like that too, so you can find that out there. But so you're looking at, you know, the solar system in sort of a flat plane. But if you look up in the sky, the planets sort of like wave across the sky as they progress.
So that's when you want to look at declinations in Astro theorists. You just sort of take the chart and you can rotate it right? So you're sort of like going from looking, you know, down, or, you know, looking south, I guess, and then you look up. And what this chart is, it's essentially like, I'm looking up.
This middle line is the equatorial axis. So it's like the earth's equator projected out. And then you take space around you and you unfold it so you can see you have the AC here, which would be, you know, the horizon on on the eastern side, and you have the DC on the western side, for people who don't know, yep.
So everything here is sort of like above the earth, you know, exposed to, you know, the day or night, or whatever it might be, but it's above you, and everything that's kind of shadowed would be like behind the earth. So there's sort of like on either end of this graph would be the IC directly behind you on the other side of the Earth,
yeah? For people who work with declinations, that is a really, really unique feature that you can just flip the chart like that, yeah? And on the phone, it's real fun. You just kind of flip it back and forth. And it's both, like, taught me, you know, there's some, there's some neat parts that I really get out of this.
And there's also it's made me understand declination aspects on a degree where I don't necessarily take a contra parallel, as you know, super meaningful by default. It kind of depends on how contra parallel they might be. But one big thing that I really like about it is it also sort of brings the outside in.
So if I'm outside and I can see the moon, a lot of people have probably had this experience where you see the moon and there's some star next to it, maybe there's two, and you're trying to figure out what star that is. So you might look at an astrology chart, and, you know, you might be able to be like, Okay, well, you know, in this case, Saturn is pretty close. So maybe it's Saturn being able to go into this declination chart, you can really say, like, oh, it's, you know, down into the left of the moon is, yeah, that's Venus, you know, or something like that, like it, it gives you more of that relative space of things, you know.
I love that. That's so cool. Yeah. And lastly, too, and again. So this is why, you know, like, if I see a contra parallel, astrology over the years has really been sort of shaped by the tools we've had, in some sense, like, you know, back in the day, you would have an Ephemeris, and it would list both latitude and longitude, and so declinations are the latitude, no placement of things.
So you'd have these tables listing latitude, and you might see a number like, you know, 17.68 and then you also see 17.9 Point eight, and then you're like, Oh, they're talking to each other, you know? And they, they kind of are just based on those numbers. But if you have two planets that are really close to the equator, they'll sort of go from, like, Contra parallel, parallel, conjure parallel, like, really short so, like, how meaningful is it at that point, versus, if they're very separated, or, you know, yeah, or even a parallel, you know, is a parallel when they're, like, kind of far apart, as meaningful as when they're conjunct, you know, right? Yep, yep.
And then also, like, if there's a conjunction, like, you know, we go back to the real time chart, like Saturn and Neptune are conjunct right now, but by declination, they're still, like, it's not like an eclipse of Saturn and Neptune. They're still kind of separated, right? Yeah, yeah. So, you know, getting those sorts of layers on things also out of bounds planets.
So, and I'll run through this real quick. So if I, if I lock onto the sun, you can, you know, kind of see the sun's progression. So I'll go by weeks, and you can see how the sun stays locked onto the ecliptic, because the ecliptic is the line from the earth, yeah, to the Sun projected out.
So the sun throughout the year will stay and I can isolate that guy will stay locked on. Oh, that's so cool. I love that, right? Cool additions for just like learning astronomy and astrology at the same time, right? Yeah. It gives you another lens that I think is helpful, helpful for students.
I think that when people have this tool and they can use it all the time, they have a chance to maybe find some different discoveries when it comes to declinations, yeah, and I've noticed that when planets are out of bounds, so they're outside of the maximum declination of the sun, that I find meaning in that when in my natal chart, I've got a planet out of bounds, and it kind of helps me to understand it a little bit better, yep, yep, for sure.
And so if I track the moon, you can see how the moon really likes to go out of balance for periods of time. One last one is Pluto, because Pluto is really fascinating right now. Because Pluto, I kind of got to navigate Pluto by decades. But if I navigate Pluto, you can see Pluto does not follow the ecliptic very closely. It's quite off, right, right? I'm going outside of the local Ephemeris range. So calculations go to the server at this point.
But what's fascinating is, if I go back in time, Pluto used to go out of bounds pretty regularly, whenever it would, you know, do its full cycle. So if I keep going back in time, you'll see Pluto, like regularly, goes out of bounds. Oh, well, most recently Pluto, I believe we, yeah, we've already experienced Pluto's last out of bounds transit.
So right there was the last time Pluto is going to go out of bounds for the next like 2000 years. So oh my god, wow. Which is wild, right? So it looks like that was 1945 Yeah, yeah. So figure that's basically the last time. I don't know if we, if I go yearly, it looks like it just didn't quite go out of bounds, yeah, kind of dips. But stop short, it's close, right? Yeah.
And so now it's, you know, you can go forward 1000s of years, and it takes a couple 1000 years before it goes out of bounds. I love that. Well, let's, let's, for the sake of zodiacal releasing, all right, so this is what we just released last Sunday. So I'll look up like Keanu Reeves.
So if you have a chart selected, there's some new chart settings for specialized layers. You can enable zodco releasing. This also comes with some new lots. So there's all of, like, the the big lots that people typically would use, lot of arrows. A lot of folks are interested in a lot of arrows. I typically just hang out with a lot of spirit. But yeah, so then from here, you can go to the Zodiacal releasing experience.
And this is pretty this was, like, super hardcore because of time relativity, the dates that you see and the times have to be accurate to that place, that time, and that location of that person you know, like if counter Reeves. You know, moved and now he lives in LA, like I want the times to be relative to where he lives in. La, so when his, you know, l2 changes signs, I know exactly what time it is for him.
So anyway, it was a really tough thing to do, but yeah, you can see the different levels. You can see, kind of like, you get these little progress indicators for how far into the level you've gone. Oh, that's cool, yeah. And there's even, like, nice little nuggets in there. Like, you know, for each level, you can see what ages the person was, so 53 to 82 Kiana Reeves is in this Aquarius releasing one period for 29 years, the peak periods are highlighted, but they're highlighted relative to to their position to Fortune.
So first, from Fortune, fourth, from Fortune, seventh, 10th, and yeah, so. And then you can navigate through these in two ways, so you can add transits, and then you can start going through time. And the Zodiacal releasing periods will just like, update with you, which is really nice. So if I'm at some future period, I can go back to the wheel. I can kind of see what's going on with transits, and then shift R. I can go back to my zodiacal releasing kind of compare the two as I navigate time.
Yeah. And then the other way that you can explore is just by clicking. So I can click around, and I can check out different zodiacal releasing periods. And that's essentially it. It's hardcore. It's accurate. It also looks really cool on a phone. So if I go to ZR on the phone, you you get these little buttons for the different periods. You get the little progress indicators in the bottom, some little indicators about, you know, like, this is easing at first from Fortune peak period, and so that's kind of indicated on the little button.
So I'm, I'm really hoping this, like, takes VR or ZR out of the like, obscure, hard to calculate thing to like, an A daily referenceable experience. Amazing. I love, yeah, I love the ZR, the way ZR is set up is easily my favorite that I've seen so far. This is great.
Yeah, I appreciate it. You know, I just pulled my while you were talking. I just pulled mine up to look. And I love it. How do you switch between the light and dark setting on the chart? Yeah, up here in general settings, there are themes so you can do light mode, dark mode, OLED mode. I want to make a green mode. Soon, I'm going to make a green mode. That's cool, man.
Anything else that you want to show us before we tell people how they can there's a discount we're going to give people that you have going right now. Anything else you want to share? I think that's it. My next feature coming up is going to be some copy buttons for being able to copy the details of a chart or or some periods from zodiacal releasing, originally, for people that like to prepare their chart by having, like, a Word document, or like a Google Doc. You know, it's nice to be able to copy, like, what are all the aspects and placements and take notes on those. So I'm working on that. And, yeah, so just stay tuned for more for master terrace. And again, I appreciate it. Thanks for letting me ramble through all that excitement.
Of course, no, it's so I'm so glad. I mean, one of the main reasons that I have Brandon on is not only because he's an alumni. And again, there's no, I don't there's no incentive for me financially here. I'm just trying to support Brandon, because I think he's awesome, and I think this program is cool, and I think it's the pricing and the accessibility that to me, is really important, because we serve a lot of people who come from a range of financial circumstances through the school as you know, we have accessible pricing for really everything we do. I like that. This is a program that's also affordable. When we talk about signing up pricing and the discount Tell us how that works when people go here, so they know what's available here.
Yeah, so the pricing is listed on the website. It's 899, a month if you use a discount code that I showed last time I was on your show. It's still available. It's vision quest. So what you'll do is you just sign up, and on the billing page you can put vision quest in there, okay, if you choose all caps, yep. And if you choose a monthly subscription, then your first month is $1 so it's a way to just sort of try it out. If you do the yearly, it's like 799 off of that. But yeah, so try it out. It's for $1 and you can cancel anytime. And you know, our emails are always open. So what's your email? Oh, yeah, you can do. To info@astrotheoros.com There's also support@astrotheoros.com and we love hearing from people whatever featured you know, you might need, or cool ideas you might want to see integrated into the app. We love to hear it, and if anything is not acting right as well, you know, we try to really be on it.
By we, he means he, my family will help with support emails if they come up and I'm like, because I have a full time job, and this is, like, my my passion project. So if you email during the day and I'm not available, one of my family members might respond to you, but otherwise it's just me.
Very cool. This is Brandon Reed, astrotheoros.com the discount code is vision quest. I'm really glad to support you and your work always Brandon and like, after we spoke last year, I was like, add zodacal releasing, because for sure my students will want that he added it, and not only did he add it in, but he made it to me one of the more unique interfaces that I've ever seen with the especially, I love the progress bar. Man, that is just so cool. But anyway, um, Brandon, it's really good to have you back to talk about the program. We'll be sure to have you back as more things are added to the program, um, and keep, keep supporting your good work, but in the meantime, yeah, thanks for thanks for making this accessible for people too. We really appreciate that.
Yeah, and thank you so much, and thanks to the Nightlight folks out there. And, yeah, best wishes. And thanks so much. Adam. I appreciate your support. It means a ton always. Well, you guys, have a great day. We'll see you again tomorrow. Bye, everyone.
