This transit asks you to consider the gymnasium of the soul. Muscle grows only when pushed to its limit against resistance. So too, the soul finds its strength and definition not in avoiding pressure, but in leaning into the very friction that seems to hold it back. The frustration is the forge.

All right. On that note, let's turn our attention to the real time clock. Remind ourselves of what the heck is going on. So we are looking at this transit. Let me just back this up. Today is Tuesday, December 9, as you're watching this, Mars and Saturn are just barely separating.
Yesterday, we spent a long in depth session looking at the archive or first principles of the planets, and then talking about why this is maybe one of the most frustrating transits in the history of astrology, considering, of course, that for a long time we didn't have the outer planets. But you know, for 1000s of years, this combination may have taken the top prize for most difficult aspect. Oppositions and Squares Between the malefics are just not easy. But we talked about why that's the case. What to watch for? What is the evolutionary potential of a combination like this when it comes to growth work that we're all here to do.
So if you didn't catch that talk, you may want to include that in your week and take a look at that content from yesterday. Today, we're going to do horoscopes, and what I have prepared is basically three things for each sign that I've got on my mind.
Now remember that when we look at horoscopes, we're in whole sign format, which means my recommendation for you is to listen to your rising sign. The reason for that is that your whole sign birth chart, which is what we work with in Hellenistic astrology, just like Indian astrologers do, that whole sign format is going to correspond precisely to the Transiting location of the planets in your natal chart when you use the rising sign.
Now, if you are someone who likes to listen to your sun sign, you could do that as well. Really, you can listen to horoscopes for anything you want to, but yeah, I recommend the rising sign. The other thing that I want to mention is that when we're talking about a transit like this, the things that I keyed in on.
I want to tell you about my process, the process that I have for developing something like this, where I come up with three things for each sign, is subjective, meaning it's based on my experience, my insight, my work with the symbols, my understanding of the houses the way I've seen them in client practice. There's no way you could possibly be. Comprehensive with the horoscope and cover every last possibility.
So my hope is that one of these three things will click or make sense, but there remember, if you want to explore this transit from the standpoint of the archetypes themselves, and let's say the horoscope isn't really hitting, then I would really suggest going to yesterday's video where we just talk about what to watch for in more of a pure kind of archetypal vacuum that may actually hit more for you if the houses don't feel like they're clicking, although sometimes people say, like month by month, I'm always blown away by how sometimes people listen to both the rising and sun sign. Sometimes one hits more than another. That's kind of funny anyway.
Let's get into it. I want to waste no time. We are going to start with Aries, go through Pisces, and I'm going to point out where the squares are happening, and what I think might arise when we talk about this square. We're talking about two houses that have a fundamental square relationship with one another, and in my opinion, the best way to understand that is through the nature of the purusharthas activated by these two houses.
So I'll mention topics here. Of course, that's part of talking about houses, anytime you talk about them, but also those underlying philosophical areas of life that the houses represent in ancient Indian astrology, which is there in Hellenistic astrology, but just not talked about as explicitly, is part of how I'm going to focus today. Anyway. You'll see what I mean as we go.
All right, let's get into it. So for Aries rising, we have Mars in Sagittarius in the ninth house, a Dharma house, and Saturn in the 12th house, which is a Moksha house. So what I would watch for in these two houses, given the nature of the ninth and the 12th, would be a first thing on my list for you, Aries is a clash between conviction and surrender, where your drive to assert your beliefs or pursue a certain kind of purpose. May be meeting with some kind of obstacle, or when you feel convicted about something, but then you meet with a doubt or an uncertainty, or you have to allow yourself to surrender where you'd love to be more convicted and strong willed about something you believe in, but there's some requirement that you slow down and consider the mystery, or consider something bigger than what your will and conviction is taking into consideration.
This is one of those transits for Aries, where I could also see number two, a teacher or a mentor playing a large role right now, some path of learning that gives you bigger perspective, some some kind of spiritual experience that hones or refines things like anger, will and your ambition, also anything involving travel plans that could be a little bit difficult, and any kind of spiritual path that's presenting friction and that forces some level of humility or sacrifice, that would be number two on my list.
And number three, I wrote this question, the Dharma, Moksha tension of these two houses, asks, Where must I soften dogma or certainty so that a deeper and more genuine level of spiritual freedom can appear? Maybe an important guiding question there for Aries.
All right, so those are my three things for Aries. Let's go forward to Taurus, where Mars is going to be in Sagittarius in the eighth, which is a Moksha house square to Saturn in the 11th, which is a comma house. Moksha means liberation. Comma means the pursuit of happiness and pleasure.
So I would look at this that my first one for Tauruses are where a level of more urgent or immediate inner work, which is common for the eighth house or meeting fears or any kind of major transformational transitions will interrupt or contradict some of your long term plans or community roles or desires for progress. The 11th house is a house of long term dreams, wishes, hopes, goals, aspirations and community, whereas the eighth has so much to do with that deeper inner work of relinquishing attachments or unhealthy entanglements.
And so to me, where there is a deeper level of transformative, inner work of liberation, transformation happening in the eighth how does that potentially conflict with contradict, interrupt or present some friction when it comes to long term dreams, plans, goals or communities.
Number two for Taurus would be karmic. Entanglements, around resources, around sort of soul contracts, let's call them with other people, intimacy, shared obligations. Where do these test your social expectations or future goals? Another way of saying this might be that we're looking at what I can get and what I give within intimate relationships or any kinds of contracts with other beings, and how they are also a part of a greater social reality and future that I'm trying to create.
This could have you looking at what kinds of give and takes or exchanges or larger social contracts within communities are worth your time or effort or are worth some level of surrender or sacrifice because of what they provide. This is about what kinds of compromises feel right and which don't, maybe in broader social arenas as well.
The third thing I have on my list for Tauruses is a question the moksha, kama tension asks is liberation. That's an eighth house topic calling me to release an attachment to dreams and outcomes and social dynamics that I've been chasing. It's a deep question.
All right, we'll move on now to Gemini. So for Gemini, we have Mars in the seventh and Saturn in the 10th. That's comma in the seventh, arta in the 10th, desire happiness, psychological fulfillment. Comma arta, work in the world, material resources and material achievement, or happiness.
The first thing on my list, given the placement of these two things for Gemini would be, one is relationship conflicts that hit some kind of structural limits within your career, reputation or responsibilities. Let me put it simply. What if you wanted to date someone that you feel like other people in your life may not understand or could affect your social or public standing in some way.
Think about like someone in high school who falls for the misunderstood punk rocker. Well, that's not going to look good to mom and dad. That's not your popular normal looking friends aren't going to understand that person, right? So the idea here is where our relationship conflicts or passion or desires kind of rubbing up against social expectations or career or public facing considerations.
Number two would be a partner's needs, desires or behavior collide with your professional life, your professional demands, or your need for order and authority, a conflict of desires and wills that involve interpersonal dynamics and professional direction could come up relationships often have conflicts over each other's careers. This is something that could happen here the comma arts attention asks this question, which desire or relational pull is undermining the stability or professional direction I'm trying to build? So watch for that tension.
If you're a Gemini, all right for cancer, we have Mars in the sixth and Saturn in the ninth. This is artha and dharma. Artha refers to the material world and efforts toward happiness, acquisition wealth, security in the material world, whereas the ninth house Dharma refers to the pursuit of truth and understanding and wisdom.
The conflict between these two houses and the malefics squaring in these two houses for cancer might have you looking at daily work, Health, Labor intensifications, maybe on behalf of something you teach or something you believe in, but it's a real pressure cooker. It's a period of a lot of intensive work and labor. Maybe there are things you're having to do that are necessary, that you believe in, but that require a lot of hard work.
Number two on my list would be a conflict between what you believe is right, what is good, what is necessary in some higher sense, and what your body or workload can realistically sustain. And number three, the art to dharma, tension asks a question, maybe like this, how do I reconcile duty with higher mission? How do I reconcile work, the tension of work, with the higher things I believe in? Am I overworking for a mission that needs a wiser structure? Those are all the kinds of questions I could see cancers asking right now.
All right, let's go to Leos. For Leos, Mars will be in the fifth and Saturn will be in the eighth. The squares between Dharma and Moksha. Dharma in the fifth has so much. To do with what is true, good, authentic about myself. Creatively, when I act from my creative essence, I should feel joy in the way that I create in life the eighth house, moksha, releasements from unhealthy attachments or entanglements, and a priority being placed on healthy attachments that facilitate spiritual growth and mutual support.
So I could see things like creative for the first one on my list for Leo's creative pride, children, pregnancy, those kind of topics, or any kind of creative personal mission, having to run up against the realities of loss, of vulnerability or of shared karmic entanglements. This is the kind of situation where you know you in order to be creatively free, you have to on before you can get there. You have to sort out a messy custody and co parenting situation.
We have to delineate the time duties responsibilities of co parenting after a divorce. And you need to do this so you can feel creatively free, but it's a kind of necessity that's part of an ongoing liberation in the eighth house, Saturn, kind of way. But whatever it is, we're talking about wanting to move forward with something creatively, but having to deal with karmic obligations, duties or entanglements that are coming up along the way.
Number two on my list would be the joyful expressive impulse of Mars in the fifth, which is very charismatic, may have to meet with the heaviness of Saturn in the eighth as a set of obligations, or deeper psychological material that's demanding release, and so it could feel like a bit of a joy kill the Dharma, moksha. Tension across these two houses asks the question like this, how do I pursue my creative purpose while letting go of what I cannot control, or while surrendering something that needs to be surrendered in the process.
All right, so let's go along to Virgo. For Virgo, we have Mars in the fourth and Saturn in the seventh. This is Moksha and comma. Moksha, liberation from entanglements and the seventh house, comma, joy, intimacy, love, happiness, especially in relationships.
So the first thing on my list here is family, home or emotional roots are erupting with heat while a partner or relationship dynamic imposes pressures or boundaries. Another way of saying this is just a lot of tension and friction between home, family, ancestry and marriage or relationships or interpersonal dynamics. This could also be a time at looking at the deeper, more deeply seated feelings you have, or the private side of yourself, and how it shows up in relationships, how it may be time to show more of who you are in a relationship so that you can overcome a difficulty.
Second on my list would be old wounds, ancestral material or private emotional storms compete with the duties or ongoing agreements or commitments of relationships. It's another thing to consider here. And then finally, the Moksha com attention around these two houses, to me, says, Ask the question anyway, what needs healing or release at the roots so that my relationships aren't carrying the weight sometimes, for example, relationships carry the weight of things that we haven't processed from our upbringing, home, family, parental karma in the past.
This is a transit that really says, How can my relationships improve? Because I'm releasing things from the past that need to be released so the relationship can be healthier. But any way of looking at it, the fourth and the seventh home, family and relationships are in the spotlight.
All right, let's go along to Libras. For Libras, we have Mars in the third square, Saturn in the sixth. This is comma and arta. This is the experience of pleasure, joy, psychological satisfaction. And Saturn in the sixth, talking about arta, the material world, resources, conflict, competition for resources, hard work, labor, dealing with adversity in the material world, all things that are part of thriving and growing things materially, conflicts involving siblings, communication or daily efforts clashing with things like health, workloads, service obligations.
Watch for those things to be pronounced as Mars in the third square Saturn in the sixth. To me, this would mean that the potential for over working or over taxing yourself mentally and emotionally could come up and also placing strain on relationships, a desire to push. Forward mentally or socially, meets the real reality limits, reality of limits. Excuse me, illness or tedious responsibilities.
So when you want to push forward with something aggressively or competitively or ambitiously, but you're met with overwhelming circumstances that limit or slow something down that would be common for these two planets. Now, the comma art detention, I think, asks a question like this. For Libras, are my preferences and my impulses undermining the discipline needed for real progress? The third house Mars wants to push ahead quickly. Saturn, in the sixth says there's a lot of effort, discipline, duty and slow effort over long periods of time that are needed. It's like the gas and the brake pedal colliding with each other.
All right, let's go on to Scorpios. So for Scorpio, Mars is in the second, Saturn is in the fifth. That's arta and dharma. Material world, resources, survival, money in the material world, the fifth house Dharma creative essence, happiness that comes from living in alignment with creative essence. So important to feel like we're acting from an authentic, real, vibrant, living, creative space in ourselves. That's the dharma of the fifth so my first thing for Scorpios is spending earning material security hits tension with things like creative aspiration, sense of creative calling, maybe even the topic of children or pregnancy.
So second on my list would be a desire to stabilize your resources, which is very Mars in the second meets the restrictive demands of living out your purpose or supporting someone or something that you love. So again, tension between creative calling and financial limitations or material resources coming up. And I think the question that's asked here the art the Dharma tension says, What values must I affirm or release to pursue what I'm truly meant, to express creatively. So creativity and material things communicating with each other in a bit of tension.
Sagittarius, if you're Sagittarius rising or sun sign, we have Mars in the first, Saturn in the fourth those. So that's Dharma and Moksha. Here we have creative essence, your natural, inborn character, the development of your character and the fourth house, the place of moksha, liberation, release from suffering and the interiority needed to rest, recover and heal.
So to me, the first thing on my list is your personal drive or your personal mission may be colliding with emotional family or ancestral heaviness that slows you down or sort of sobers you where you're perhaps moving too fast or too manically. Number two on my list would be a test between forging ahead on your personal path or your personal evolution versus tending to inner private domestic responsibilities that need resolution or caring for I want to move ahead my family needs me something like that.
Finally, the dharmic Moksha tension asks the question something like this, how do I honor my calling while addressing the inner foundations that still require duty, care and ultimately, greater freedom or liberation? So there's an inner foundation that is still requiring work, even though you want to press ahead sort of valiantly and strongly right now, and that's the tension.
All right, let's move on to Capricorn. For Capricorn, we have Mars in the 12th, a Moksha house, squaring Saturn in the third a comma house. There's that liberation in the 12th. All sorts of karma gets released in the 12th house. This third house, comma psychological interior development of healthy ego and self satisfaction, gratification and happiness with who you are, mentally, emotionally in terms of what you develop and what you practice and cultivate with effort and even competitiveness. This is a psychological house that's about inner happiness the conflict between these two planets and these two houses could be about hidden conflicts burnout or unconscious impulses that in fear interfere with your mental, emotional well being, or with communication, or with siblings or with your everyday life.
Another way of saying this would be number two on my list, an inner dissolution process challenges your ability to assert opinions, make choices or stay disciplined in your routines. So for example, when someone has Mars in the 12th their. Could be a level of impatience or irritability or anger that is seems to be showing up or manifesting in different places in your life that is making it hard for you to stay kind balanced focused, and to find that equanimity or serenity in your psych psyche.
And so this transit is, in a way, the Moksha calm attention. I'll ask this question, what desires or agendas or unconscious impulses have to be loosened so that I can release old mental patterns and embrace healthier, more stable mental and emotional patterns.
Okay, let's go on to Aquarius. Mars is in the 11th a comma house. Saturn is in the artists, the second house of artists. So comma social dynamics that provide happiness and satisfaction, social, professional, public, kinds of happiness. Saturn in the second, the place of arta, which has to do with material resources.
So how? What's the conversation like right now? Number one, between your social circles, your social ambitions or aspirations and your financial limits or your financial reality. For example, sometimes we want to be very successful socially. We want to be seen as a certain type of person or a certain socio economic status. But the reality is that we're grinding away at a new business and we're barely scraping by.
This could be about the conflict between how you wish things were going, or how you wish you were being seen, or your long term ambitions and goals and the current limits or realities that you are facing. Number two on my list would be a desire to push ahead with broader social or professional ambitions that's meeting pressure from practical economic constraints, the comma art detention across these two houses, houses, excuse me, asks A question like, which ambitions are worth the cost and which drain the resources that I should be protecting.
All right? Pisces Mars is in the 10th arta square Dharma, or Saturn in the first which is dharma work in the world, inner essence. So first on my list is career intensity, ambition or conflict, meets with that very important question about authentic nature, authentic identity. So where there's a lot of ambition and drive or even conflict in the workplace, how is that rubbing up against real, deep questions about who I am and what's real about who I am, what's the most authentic version of who I am?
Or you might say that professional pursuits require understanding your own personal limits, or require some kind of personal restructuring your body identity or personal priorities that can't be bypassed in the name of professional success, or you can't rush past them somehow. So I think the art to dharma tension around these two houses asks a question like, What worldly success is aligned with my personal nature and integrity, and maybe what's costing too much of my integrity.
So that concludes my take on the Saturn, excuse me, the Mars Saturn square. As always. I hope these horoscopes are useful for you. To me, this square is, again, one of the more intense and frustrating astrological dynamics that we face as astrologers, as people tracking the transits and so, as I said yesterday, some of the maybe the most important things that we can remember are that, like I used the image yesterday of birth requiring contraction and effort.
So where there is where effort meets resistance, that edge is often a distinct trait of growth. It's like the gym. I use this so such a simple example. But if you're interested in muscle growth, you have to push against resistance with a muscle until failure, and the failure sucks, like it's not fun and it's, it's, uh, nobody wants to go in and exhaust their muscles. You know, but when you meet that edge, growth starts happening.
So in all of these horoscopes, and even if the topics maybe some people, I'm sure they landed others, maybe not so much. But think about the Mars Saturn signature in general. Where does effort meet resistance? Where does desire or ambition run up against some kind of limit or obstacle. Can we see this as a meaningful moment to work through, to find our edge and to accept that the edge that's coming up right now is the cutting edge of our evolution.
If we can see it that way, and if these horoscopes helped, I think we're we're cooking, we're cooking with the right ingredients. So anyway, I hope you're having a good day today. After I sign off, head over to the Kickstarter. The link is at the top of the comment section in the description of this video as well.
