Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Happy Friday, everyone. Today we're going to talk about Mercury meeting Uranus in the sign of Gemini over the weekend for the very first time. This is really significant for one reason: Uranus into the new sign of Gemini is now officially in the temple of Hermes Mercury, and this is the first official meeting of the guest with its host.
In other words, Mercury has never conjoined Uranus in the sign of Gemini. Even the brief little visit we got from Uranus in Gemini last summer did not include a conjunction from Mercury. So having the guest and host together is really, in a way, kicking off the Uranus in Gemini era in a way that it just hasn't happened yet.
So I think this is going to be a really significant conjunction, and I wanted to give it some time today at the end of the week, since it's coming over the weekend. So that's what we're going to do today. Before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe, share your comments and your reflections, help the algorithm find us.
If you like this kind of content that we produce every day, year round, you can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website. That's Nightlight astrology.com. You guys, my book is out. It's here. Here it is. The Oracle speaks. This is my unbound copy. I'll get my first bound one probably the same time you guys will.
This book is two and a half years in the making. It is a creative work about the way that astrology weaves its way into our lives before we even know that it's doing so. What is it like? Have you ever thought about how astrology worked its way into your life? It's not just the first time you read a horoscope.
It's not just the first book you ever read or the first reading you ever had. Astrology is part of an animistic oracular cosmos. It's embedded in an animistic and oracular framework. And most of us who find our way to astrology find our way to it through many stories and synchronicities that eventually lead us to a language that makes sense out of something that's much deeper and more mystical about our everyday experience in this world.
That's what this book is about. I hope you'll check it out. I'm going to be having a book release party soon, online, free if you want to attend, hear me read a chapter and talk about the book, maybe answer questions if you have them. I want to give people a little chance to read it and get a hold of it first.
I'm going to take you over to the website so that you can see where to pick it up. On the website, go to the shop page, click on my books at the top. Shop my books, and then it's right there. Please buy it from us, not Amazon or Barnes and Noble, even though we're glad it's everywhere. We do better when you go directly to the press and our relationship with the press.
So buy our book from our website. We appreciate you. Can have it shipped anywhere. There's an ebook or Kindle form as well. You can get that on Amazon if you need the Kindle reader form. Anyway, if you do get it, do us a favor. Take a picture, and my social media manager is going to repost on Instagram people taking photos of themselves, like maybe taking a chapter in a coffee shop or something. We would really appreciate that.
The only other thing to mention is we have free daily meditation at Nightlight. You can come and meditate with us every day for free. The schedule is there under the Events page, click on community quiet. The other thing is, at the end of the day, I'll tell you about the year one program. It starts in June. Early Bird sale is in effect.
You can come study with us. We have a lot of amazing classes at Nightlight. This is our first year class in ancient Hellenistic astrology, and so I'll tell you more about it at the end. All right, let's turn our attention now to the chart and let's get a feel for what's happening here. If I can get my real time clock working. Hold on, okay. Hold on. Okay, here we go.
So as you can see, we have Mercury and Uranus conjoining in the sign of Gemini. The two planets are conjoining on Sunday, May 17. As we are sitting here, it is the 15th today, on Friday. And so Sunday, May 17, the two planets come together over the weekend. The ingress will take place. If you want to back it up just a touch, it'll happen between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
And then as soon as it does happen, it speeds along by Sunday evening to come into the conjunction with Uranus. So the moon will be flying through that space too, just after the new moon in late Taurus. By the way, we talked about the new moon yesterday on the channel. That new moon is obviously coming through right now at the end of this week, but we did an episode on that yesterday looking at the conjunction with Algol, if you want to take a look at that.
So the reason that this is significant, let me repeat, is that Uranus is officially a guest in the temple of Mercury, the temple of Hermes. Last year we had a brief visitation of Uranus in Gemini, but it did not include a conjunction with its host. A conjunction with its host is sort of like saying, if you have a house guest and it's the first time you actually meet them, you have a moment.
And I remember when I was in high school there, and I don't know if they still do this, but we had foreign exchange students, and they would always be staying with someone in our church community, right? And they'd be going to school for a year, maybe a semester, or whatever. And it would be very exciting for us, to us kids anyway, to meet someone from a totally different place in the world, and they'd be our classmate for like a year.
I think actually one of my classmates was a foreign exchange student of their own in Japan too, which was interesting. But excuse me, it's like the first time that you're meeting a guest in your home that's going to be there for a while. Yours is going to be in your house for seven years, O Hermes. This is your first chance to meet up and to plan and to co-create, so to speak.
So I want to talk about what that might mean, because I don't think this should be underrated. It's a simple Mercury-Uranus transit, and of course all of the Mercury-Uranus transits share some things in common: electric mindedness, busy bustling ideas and nervous system activation, original thinking and sudden outbursts of mental creativity, right? That's always Mercury-Uranus.
But the way this is different is because we have Uranus now in Hermes' sign, that takes things to a totally different level of activity, and we haven't seen this kind of activity yet with Uranus in Gemini. I believe personally that we're going to really start seeing the activation and awakening of this ingress around this time. It doesn't mean it hasn't done anything.
I mean the ingress in my own chart, I was noticing some things right away. I was like, wow, that's interesting. There it is. But not like this. We've got a new moon that's going to be forming in Gemini next cycle. We have Mercury joining and then the Sun joining Uranus in close proximity, while Hermes is hosting in its own sign. We are coming into, in other words, the first major activation of Uranus in Gemini.
I've got five things to watch for, so in no particular order. The first one is just the host meets the guest. As I was just saying, the conjunction is acting like a formal introduction, you could say, between Uranus and the sign that it's inhabiting the next seven years. It's already entered the terrain. But Mercury's conjunction is like the ruler arriving home and opening the doors of the house and being like, hey, I know you've been here for a minute.
Sorry, I was out running errands. I'm here now to be your host. And let me show you how to open the fridge. Or, you know, it's not very hard. Let me show you where the pantry is. Let me show you where the snacks are. Let me show you where the... what would it be? I don't know, like the circuit board. What am I thinking of? Oh my god, why can't I think of it? The fuse box. You can flip the electricity on and off.
But anyway, what I would advise, if you're a student of astrology, just watch for the first very clear articulation of what Uranus in Gemini is about collectively and personally. You're going to notice themes around communication cropping up in the news, probably very loudly. Things like media, things like education, language, technology, trade, information systems, or even the subject of cognition or learning.
Those kinds of topics are likely to pop really loudly for us personally, but also in the collective over the weekend or in the next couple of days after the conjunction, like early to mid next week. Mercury will provide things like coherence and language and narratives that suddenly help to aid in Uranus' disruptive, creative agenda. If Uranus is trying to create a rebellion in Gemini, Mercury is there and like, well, let me help you articulate it.
Let me help you organize it. Let me help you recognize or cognize a plan. This can be like it's coming online. The Uranus in Gemini era is coming online. So watch for that. Just generally, if you're a student of astrology, pay attention. Notice it. Number two would be, and this is kind of Uranus-Mercury no matter what, but it's very powerful here because of being in Gemini itself, the suddenness being a totally cookie-cutter Uranus word, right?
There's a sudden intellectual or cognitive breakthrough. These combinations, no matter what sign they're in, often correlate with flashes of insight, original or unconventional thinking, the ability to rapidly learn something or progress in something you're studying, or a skill you're learning or developing, and radical reframing through things like perception or mental understanding. So now in Gemini, everything is amplified because Mercury is operating with much greater ease, greater speed, greater dexterity, curiosity, and sort of a kind of confidence that a planet has when it's in its own sign.
You want to watch when these two planets come together for quick breakthroughs in things like thinking, thoughts, communication habits, writing, speaking, tech, teaching, problem solving. All Mercury-Uranus dynamics. Mercury-Uranus is fantastic at solving problems, one of the most inventive combinations that we have. Now conversations can become a little destabilizing. Old, let's call them old patterns of thinking can break apart suddenly.
New pathways of understanding or communicating can occur, and intellectually you may suddenly be like, I'm not sure I believe that anymore, or I think I might have a brand new thought that's going to lead to a lot of change. Very common. Number three on my list is accelerated information and nervous system overload. Gemini, as you might well know, is very dispersive and multiplies things.
So it's like, I like to use the image of a beehive or a busy coffee shop. You've heard me use that before on the channel. Well, Uranus is like a triple shot of espresso in an already busy environment. It's going to accelerate the multiplication and dispersive tendencies of mental and nervous energy. That can lead to feeling like you're high on caffeine when you've not even drunk a cup of coffee.
So the dramatic increase in informational intensity, mental stimulation, the tendency toward mental distraction or dispersiveness. Be careful with your phone when these two things are together. Honestly, for as much as you might find something stimulating, you may way more quickly find that you're overstimulated than you thought you would. The collective mind and the speed of the collective mind might be, I don't know, like I'm not being literal, I'm being metaphorical, right?
But it's almost like the collective nervous system circuits are translating things at a much higher speed or rate or something. So watch for that when you're out and about. Just see if you notice it. You will also see that there will be rapidly shifting information being disseminated in news cycles or tech announcements or media volatility. I am not going to be surprised if in the next month we see developments in AI or startling new information coming to light somehow in the public.
And psychologically, people are going to be vacillating, especially starting this weekend, between kind of exhilaration and excitement mentally, like a buzz, and then the overstimulation or fragmentation. So just these are things to watch for. Even as I'm talking about it, I can feel myself sort of possessed by it. I always know that I'm onto something when I'm doing a talk and I start feeling like I'm being overcome by the archetypes I'm talking about.
I don't know if you've ever given astrology talks before, you know what I mean. If you ever tried to describe something to a friend, you're like, let me tell you about the moon in Aries, and like 10 minutes later, like, Jesus, are you going to kill me? Anyway. Number four is trickster intelligence. That's Hermes and Uranus together and the ability to destabilize narratives, which is part of what tricksters do in mythology.
They destabilize the confidence, or they destabilize the normal path, or the normal understanding, and they do so in ways that are slightly destructive but also very wise. So I would watch for satire, irony, parody, things like information leaks or whistleblowing, disruptive perspectives that suddenly pop on the radar. The Trickster dimension of Mercury is going to be amplified by the conjunction with Uranus, where intelligence will speak through things like inverted narratives, contradictions, humor, surprise.
And I think we're going to start noticing how mutable and paradoxical certain things are. Look, I'm not someone who talks about politics on this channel, but there is a way in which we all resemble each other a lot more than we'd like to admit. And I think that kind of irony is ripe for the picking in this kind of setting. It's like there is fresh fruit.
A couple summers ago we went berry picking with our daughters, and they were just like, oh my gosh, you know, the baskets. And then it was funny because they were like, how are we going to eat all of these? I think we've gotten too much. And there can be this kind of information overwhelm that comes with Mercury and Uranus too, like there's just too much.
So the destabilizing feeling is almost like there's a lot of ideas, information, stimulation, and then it gets to a feeling where it goes from almost a feeling of excitement to a feeling of, I don't think we can eat all this. It's like when I was a kid, after church on Sundays in Minnesota, we went to this place, old school. I think back on it's probably the grossest food ever, but it was called Old Country Buffet.
We go there with people from the church. Now just deck my plate out with all the stuff, and then there's a dessert buffet. Just get an ungodly amount, ungodly amount of dessert on that plate, and I would look at it, and I would contemplate my existence. What am I doing? So that was my first existential crisis. No, so last but not least is a new technological or communication era.
I really do believe that historically, and I've gone over this in some of the webinars I taught on Uranus into Gemini, these periods of Uranus in Gemini correspond with massive revolutions, collectively, in communication, in transportation, in education, in psychology and in philosophy. Mercury is dazzling, and Uranus, when it activates in a Mercury-ruled sign, I should say, is just brilliant and dazzling.
You want to watch for things like emerging technologies and platforms and educational models. People are going to start thinking differently and speaking and learning and networking. Mental things are about to change in a way that even though everyone's like, oh yeah, Mercury, you know, Uranus has been in Gemini for going on a month, you know, it's like, yeah, but you ain't seen nothing yet. And this first conjunction will start to press the gas pedal.
We are about to be into a new communication, tech, mental, educational era. It is coming. It's an inaugural moment that sets the tone for a broader Uranus in Gemini period, historically and collectively. But also personally, we have to ask ourselves right now and over the weekend, you might start to notice the first pieces of evidence. Your mind is changing. You're starting to see things differently.
You're starting to interpret things differently. New possibilities are occurring to you, and the need for groundedness is going to be paramount, because as I was saying earlier, the speed of this can be very overwhelming. But the ability to change our mind is an amazing feature of our human nature. That we can believe something very strongly, and we can be presented by living experience, evidence that is lived, that something else might be possible, or that we just aren't so sure about something.
Taking the leap to be unsure where we used to be sure, or taking the leap to ask a question about something that maybe we have held as a truth, a doctrine, a dogma, is an incredible leap. It's an incredible leap because the universe is infinitely true, you know, and there's so much truth that what would it be if we stopped asking or inquiring? It would be like saying, well, I'm comfortable in infinity with settling for something that is very narrow and limits my ability to really see the amazing scope of things.
Uranus and Mercury together in Gemini are like, look, opening your mind isn't about saying, oh shoot, I guess I was a fool because I believed something that was untrue. It's about starting to teach your heart and mind that truth is never ending, and that curiosity leads you into the deepest form of intellectual intimacy there is, because it's intellectual intimacy with the lover called your soul and the cosmos itself. So dive in, baby. Let's go.
All right. I hope you're having a great day. Today I'm going to sign off. Now check out the year one program. It's coming next, guys. My book is out. Send a picture. Tag us on Instagram, Nightlight at Nightlight astrology. Pick it up on the website. It would mean so much to me. I think you'll really love the adventure and the stories. The stories were so much fun to write.
And I think you will find your own story mirrored in it. So I can't wait to share this with you guys. Thanks for listening. Hope you have a great day. Bye. Hey everyone, thanks for sticking around. I'm excited to tell you about our upcoming program, Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic. This is our first year class in ancient Hellenistic astrology, and it begins again in June.
I'm going to tell you about this program, all that it includes, so you know exactly what to expect if you decide to come and study with us. I want to start by talking a little bit about how you know if it's the right time to study astrology or not, which is a question I get asked all the time. First of all, I would say that the way that you know you're ready to study astrology at a deeper level and take a more serious class is that it doesn't just feel like curiosity any longer.
It feels like something that you can't stop thinking about, or a way of seeing the world and viewing your experiences that you constantly think about, or almost like a filter that you experience life through. If you are often thinking about fate and free will, purpose, meaning, if you tend to see and understand and experience symbolism in everyday events all of the time, these are some of the key things that I've noticed generally start happening for people when they might be ready to study astrology more seriously.
Some people don't just like astrology. There's a call to study it. There's a call for it to be a primary spiritual form of practice, or maybe even professional practice. I want to talk about who this is right for: people who want to go deeper, you know, not just memes, not just horoscopes, not just taking in content passively, but for people who love symbolism, who love myth, who love divination, who want a structured path with a stable lineage.
Lots of students and people have come through our programs. Our programs have helped build many professional careers at this point in the larger field of astrology. And if you feel a little bit overwhelmed with trying to weed or sort through all of the information that's out there on your own, beginners are absolutely welcome in this program with no prior experience, because we start from the ground up.
At the same time, people who already have a background and are more intermediate or advanced but have not yet gone through a structured study of ancient Hellenistic astrology, ancient philosophy and the ancient practices and techniques of this craft, you're going to be starting in the same place in a way that beginners are. Your background in astrology will help you tremendously. But this is a program that is ideally for total beginners, or people who are new to Hellenistic astrology and have never gotten that traditional background.
I want to talk about what you're going to learn in the program. You're going to learn the foundations of ancient traditional astrology, starting with some history, some basic astronomy and philosophy to help you really understand: what is karma? What is fate? What is destiny? What is divination? What is the epistemological mode of understanding that ancient people were living in? They were living, for example, in an animistic sense of the cosmos that they thought spoke through the oracle of the planets and stars.
What does that mean for us today? Where does the study of fate, destiny, karma, the evolution of the soul play into all of this, transmigration, reincarnation? We really try to set a strong philosophical foundation, and from there we move through the primary components of the language: planets, signs, houses, and then the different ways in which those features interact with each other through things like aspects, dignity, accidental and essential dignity. And then we start tying things together through interpretive methodology.
All of this is something that, if you have a background in modern astrology, that'll help you, but this is also a whole other level of seriousness and specific craft-based ideas that are unique to Hellenistic astrology. Everything we do at Nightlight incorporates a modern psychological and archetypal perspective. My background is also in modern evolutionary astrology, and I have a background in Indian philosophy and yoga.
So you're going to find that there's a little bit of a cauldron of different spiritual and philosophical backgrounds that are present, even though our main focus is Hellenistic. You're going to learn about ancient techniques, but you're also going to learn how to apply them in the modern world we live in today. How does the course work logistically? Let's talk about that for a second.
It's a year-long container. There are live classes. There are also recordings. So if you can't make it live, you can follow along with anything at your own pace. In fact, you have a couple of years in which to work before you would have to submit an exam. The exam itself is optional, only for people who are seeking certification because you're interested in practicing professionally.
We have discussion forums, discussion in and outside of class year round. We have tutors on staff who also lead breakout sessions for review in between our major units of study. So there's 30 classes on the year, and then there's about six breakout study sessions, give or take. Those study sessions are there to help complement the work we do in class. You can go at your own pace.
Toward the end of the program, we have a lot of practice sessions that are meant to work through charts together, and that also feature live readings with real clients. So you can see what a day in the life of practice looks like for me as a practitioner, and see all the things we're studying applied with real people in a real, live setting. The thing to me that's most important is, why study here, right?
Why study with me and our staff? It has to do with fit. If you love this channel, if you love the way I teach and talk about astrology, then you're probably going to really love studying with us. The people that I've selected to be a part of my staff are people whose spiritual lifestyle and values are similar to my own, who were standout students in understanding the way that I taught and worked with the material myself in practice, and who are competent astrologers working with other people.
I've been practicing for 16 years full time. I've seen over 13,000 clients. And I have led four to five thousand students now at this point through our programs. My approach is rooted in ancient Hellenistic traditional techniques, but it has a real... there's a real spiritual, ecumenical vibe at Nightlight that's really open to a lot of different traditions, and that also allows you to make your own practice and build your own meaning out of the content that we provide you with.
The practical application is that you're going to have a tool that helps you navigate your life spiritually, philosophically, a practical tool that you can use for yourself, family, people you care about for the rest of your life. At the same time, you may find, whether it's your intention or not, that you're also ready to practice for other people. Many people come through our programs and are able to practice part-time to full-time astrology.
To me, the big takeaway from this is not just the learning, not just the prep for potential professional practice, but because you are going to feel confident reading charts. You're going to have a deeper understanding of the cycles of your own life and working with astrology in your own life. But most profoundly, people tend to come out of this program feeling spiritually transformed, feeling healed, feeling like they have a spiritual path in life that will last them for the rest of their lives.
When astrology becomes a daily living spiritual practice, then you know that you've really learned something that way, the way that astrology is always intended to be learned, which is to accompany you as a spiritual path in life. This is absolutely huge. And this is, to me, the biggest payoff of studying at Nightlight, is that you're being grounded in a tradition and a lineage that I have... we see it as a technical, predictive, but as a counseling tool and as a way of living a spiritual path.
So if you want to enroll, start date is June 28, 2026. Enrollment is now open on the website. I'm going to take you over there in a second and show you where to go. Early bird discount is available, so you're going to save majorly off the course cost. If you register early, do that and check it out, you'll save big on the cost of the course. However, there's also need-based tuition, and there's a payment plan you can use as well.
So we have some payment flexibility that's built into the way the program works. You can do it month by month. You can pay for it up front, get that early bird discount, or you can use need-based tuition if you're hurting financially and need a lower price point. We don't want people overspending, overextending themselves, going outside of their budget. You shouldn't have to live outside your means to study a sacred topic. That's a big belief of ours.
So head over to Nightlight astrology.com, go to the Courses page, click on the first year course, scroll down, you'll see everything you need to know about the program. And at the bottom, you'll find these early bird payment plans. You're going to save a couple hundred dollars off the course of the program when you use the early bird rate or the early bird installment plan that does it all at once or over the course of 12 months.
But if you're like, I want to take this but I don't have the means to do it, check out the tuition assistance, because that is going to greatly help you when it comes to making the course affordable. That allows you to pick your tuition costs per month within a range of different options that you have. So there's a price range, and we just say, pick your price within there and tell us your situation. It's that simple.
Please do take advantage of it. We trust that people won't use that when they could afford it. We trust that people are using it for the right reasons. So take advantage of that. It's there for you. If you are feeling this call to study astrology, Nightlight is a safe, sweet community space that has a lot of support built into it, relational support, community support, spiritual support. So check it out.
I hope to see you guys in June. If you have any questions at all about the program, email us: info at Nightlight astrology.com. See you soon.
