Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we are going to continue exploring the north node of the moon, conjoining the royal star Fomalhaut in the sign of Pisces. We're going to continue this exploration today by doing horoscopes.
If you missed yesterday's episode, we broke down the meaning and mythology of this ancient royal star, one of four ancient royal stars that were considered of the utmost importance to ancient astrologers. So check that episode out.
It could pair really well with today. You don't have to watch it, of course, but it'll give you more context for today's episode, which is going to be all about how this plays a role in your chart right now and for about the next month.
That's a very powerful conjunction, especially conjoined with the north node of the moon, which has some kind of destiny cooked up for us right now, with Fomalhaut in the middle. So yeah. So that's our agenda for today.
Before we get into it, as always, remember to like and subscribe, share your comments and reflections if you've got them. It's always good to hear from you guys.
Transcripts of any of these daily talks can be found, as always, on the website that's nightlightastrology.com. When you are over there, you guys, I'm super, super excited. As you know, my new book is out.
I have the unbound copy right here. They send you like an unbound copy in the mail to make sure it looks good. So I'm still waiting on my bound copy to come, but anyway, it's got a Kindle version and also the paperback version.
Go to our website, click on shop, go to my books, and you'll see it right here. Here in the US, there's an option to order right from the press that we work with, which helps us a lot more than Amazon.
However, if you are outside of the US, you'll have to use the Amazon link, which is also there for you. You can also find the first book that I wrote at the bottom. That book was published in 2010, so it's been a while since I've written a book.
Over the past two and a half years, I worked on this, and what I tried to capture in this book is the way in which spirit guides us to something like astrology. And for a lot of people, and I've worked with thousands and thousands of clients and students over many years now, people say consistently that something led them to astrology.
When they found astrology, they found a language that made sense of a kind of spiritual presence that had always been there in their life, a kind of spiritual intuition, a sense that there is something mystical going on, and then when they find astrology, it's like words and language get put around that.
This book is about astrology, but it's more about the stories that lead us to astrology. And in that sense, I think it's all of our stories. I really think I made this book, and I called it a mantic memoir, because I want the experience of this book to feel like the oracle is speaking to you and reminding you of your own stories and how your own path has led to your love of the sacred language.
But I really had fun. The stories are super heartfelt, and if you get the book and you don't mind, take a picture of yourself with the book somewhere. Tag us on Instagram at nightlightastrology. Really appreciate it. Any help we can get promoting the text right now is super helpful.
The other thing I want to promote is, of course, daily meditation is free at Nightlight. Go to the events page, click on community quiet. You can join us seven days a week for meditation. The link to join on Zoom is there. The schedule is there. It's all explained there, so you can hopefully come meditate with us sometime.
Finally, this week is my monthly webinar on karma and common sense remedies for difficult chart placements. This is a talk that's all about what to do if you have some really difficult stuff in your chart. What's the advice that ancient Indian astrologers gave about remediating difficult karma in birth charts? We're going to talk about that. If you can't make it live, you get the recording when you register.
Finally, at the end of today's talk, I'll be telling you about the year one program, which begins again in June. That's ancient astrology for the modern mystic. It's our first year course in Hellenistic astrology.
We place a lot of emphasis on astrology as a divinatory art form, and we also have a nice psychological and archetypal counseling dimension to the way we teach astrology. So in that way, it's a bit of a fusion, but I'll tell you more about it at the end of today's episode.
The early bird sale is there. You can take advantage of that to save significantly off the cost of the course. And there's also need-based sliding scale tuition for people who might be hurting financially. We want to make sure astrology is always accessible.
All right, thank you for letting me tell you about my book. I hope you'll enjoy today's episode. Let's pull up the software on the screen. The software, you know that I am now an affiliate for you can find the link to get 20% off on this awesome astrology software in the comment section, or the description of the video.
That's 20% off annually or perpetually, month by month, so it doesn't expire. You can keep using it. Very glad to be supporting this episode. I love this new software program.
All right. Well, here in the depiction of the chart, you can see that Tuesday, oops, sorry. Let's go forward to next Tuesday, Tuesday, May 12. You can see that the north node of the moon and fixed star Fomalhaut at about four degrees of Pisces are coming together.
Now, the timeline of this is slow moving and long lasting. As transits go, we get a full degree of separation between now and the beginning of June. It's about a full month. And if you stretch it forward and give it about two degrees of separation, you're going to see this last all the way until about the middle of June.
So we have a nice long period of time where the point of destiny, the north node that is beckoning us forward into new terrain in life always, in a sense, it's like the pull of desire, the pull of new experiences. Where is it taking us? Well, it's taking us in a Piscean direction right now.
What does that mean? It means, as we talked about yesterday, that the urge to expand our consciousness, the impulses of romance, imagination, empathy, compassion, sensitivity, longing and yearning romantically, that also may be very intoxicating and sometimes not entirely grounded. These Piscean qualities are pulling us forward into new horizons, opening up new vistas of experience.
Now, we talked at length about this yesterday, so I'm just kind of recontextualizing briefly, but one of the things that Fomalhaut typically speaks to. We looked at five things to watch for yesterday, just a reminder. We talked about vision, creativity and calling, heightened psychic sensitivity, the shadows of escapism or fantasy, the amplification of artistic spiritual gifts or learning.
And we talked about moral and spiritual testing as a part of the bestowing of blessings, or the potential downfall that comes when people have maybe achieved something but not quite in the right way. And we talked, for example, about some of the downfalls of spiritual figures.
I shared an example from my father's chart. I talked about Osho, who is a spiritual guru, kind of had a very public downfall. He had Fomalhaut at the midheaven. Talked about George Harrison and some others.
So what I want to do today is run this through the 12 signs and give you a feel for over the next whole month, where might you notice the north node and Fomalhaut sort of pulling you in a new evolutionary direction.
So we're going to start with Aries and roll through the conjunction in Pisces, through all 12 whole signs.
All right, starting with Aries rising, you've got the north node and Fomalhaut conjoining in the 12th house. You might experience any of the following, especially with the 12th house themes of otherworldliness and disengagement from our normal, linear, ego-based consciousness.
Nothing wrong with the ego, but we can lose the plot here. So think about a powerful pull toward things like solitude, retreat or inner spiritual work, especially when we have to kind of uncouple ourselves from the ego or the body on some level, or from the normal status quo of our day to day life and its egoic sense of control or centeredness, to decenter the ego, to step outside of ourselves to see some bigger reality.
This is the north node's pull with Fomalhaut in the 12th. You may also notice that there are more powerful dreams, more lucid dreams, or more vivid dreams in the 12th, and sometimes intuition is heightened. Contact with unconscious material constitutes spiritual or mystical insight.
The need to release old things that are in you and that undermine you somehow, these would be patterns in the unconscious that act as undermining forces in your own psyche, or sometimes in other people or in environments that you're in.
You also want to watch out for things like escapism, avoidance, over-idealizing or fantasizing and potentially withdrawing from the world through unhealthy fantasizing, and also any kind of creative breakthrough that happens because of mystical or deep psychological insight. These are the kinds of things that I would watch for, especially with Aries rising over the next month.
When we put Taurus on the ascendant, we have Pisces in the 11th house. You're thinking about this unfolding force of destiny happening through communities, groups, networks, alliances, colleagues, friendships, social circles.
Maybe being drawn toward more spiritual, artistic or visionary spaces of group sharing or community would be right in line with the north node and Fomalhaut. I can't help but reflect, as I did yesterday, that we're about to go on a retreat.
I'm about to go to NORWAC and teach a lot of community spaces. In the next month, it'll be opening up for me very Pisces and stuff. We're talking about divination at the retreat in Mexico, for example. Dreams for the future in the 11th house.
It's possible that you project ideals onto friends or groups or group settings, and you need to be able to see people clearly. Also the potential to be inspired or to inspire with friends, groups or communities. These are the kinds of things that stand out to me, as well as the potential shadows, projections, illusions in the same places.
With Gemini rising, we place Pisces in the 10th, which means the north node and Fomalhaut are connecting in your career house. The career path may shift in its orientation toward things that feel like they have more transcendent meaning, purpose or inspiration behind them.
It could be that more creative or spiritual forces are trying to push their way forward somehow into the spotlight in your career. Also any kind of calling that is imaginative, visionary, creative, intuitive, artistic. These things may step up considerably in your career space right now.
It's also possible that there's some feeling of being confused or lacking direction and almost overwhelmed by fantasies and ideals that are somehow unobtainable or frustratingly out of reach. You want to stay grounded and try to move forward in ways that are truly imaginative and inspiring, but not impossible and ungrounded.
Also anything involving your public image, your work, or your workplace may be suffused with that mystical, artistic, imaginative quality of Fomalhaut and the north node. However, lack of clarity or some element of fantasy or illusion could be present as well. So these are the things to watch for if you're a Gemini rising.
Now you can listen to these for your sun or rising. I always say that, but maybe I didn't say it this time.
Cancer rising, Pisces north node, Fomalhaut conjunction in the ninth house is a deepening of faith, philosophy, spirituality, pilgrimages, teachers, study of mystical traditions. My wife, as I'm making this, is on a goddess pilgrimage to sacred goddess sites in southern Italy, which is where her ancestors come from. Very fascinating.
So the life direction being shaped by things that are of faith or higher meaning or purpose, philosophically, educationally shaping meaning and belief systems, teaching, writing, sharing wisdom. These are the things that come through the ninth house, and also mystical experience.
The difference between a grounded higher sense of vision or purpose and one that might be completely ungrounding in some ways. The potential to drink the Kool-Aid, the not-so-good Kool-Aid, is there a little bit. But also, I suspect it's like The Last Crusade, like one cup is the Grail. You've got to choose wisely.
All right, well, let's go on to Leo. Leo, we take the Fomalhaut north node conjunction in your eighth, where it can be particularly fraught with projections and fantasies, because we're in a space where the eighth house is so much about what we share with other people.
The soul contracts that bind us in dynamics of exchange, emotionally, psychically, sexually, energetically or even financially. Anything from taxes to the debts we owe and clear in the emotional give and take of relationships are found here.
So the potential for a lot of heightened sensitivity in close relationships, or for there to be synchronicities and almost mystical experiences that help illuminate an understanding for you of debt and of what it means to be free from debt, and what it means to be in relationships that are free versus enslaving.
You want to watch for things like entanglement and projection or confusion of boundaries, but also there's a very powerful opening here for us to be mystically touched by the process of detachment, or of letting go of attachments that aren't healthy. So very powerful stuff. Eighth house, one of the more powerful placements for this, in my opinion.
Virgo rising places the Fomalhaut north node conjunction in Pisces in your seventh house. So there's a path of destiny unfolding through relationships and partnerships. There might be themes like attracting sensitive, creative or spiritual partners, or the topic of spirituality, intuition, a deeper shared emotional territory that's coming up.
Relationships can feel a lot more fated or karmic because of the elements of fantasy or projection or illusion versus reality that are coming up right now. Again, the potential for idealization or projection or fantasy in general, on you or you onto someone else, could be there.
Growth might come through just seeing clearly and being grounded while loving deeply and opening ourselves more deeply to others. There's mystical union here, and even sacred sexuality, you could see as a real theme coming up for Virgos right now.
Let's move on to Libras. We place Pisces in the sixth house. So work is in this space. This reminds me of Mother Teresa, someone who was a kind of mystical saint, but practical service in the impoverished area of Calcutta that she served.
This idea of being of service, of sacrifice, of compassion and of mysticism come together. But if they're not aligned with soul purpose, or if they're not grounded and they're expressing a martyr complex, or they're creating burnout or fatigue, this sense of service will be about lack of boundaries that run you down and wear you out.
Very critical here for Librans to note the difference between mysticism, sacrifice, compassion, service and healing on the one hand, and things that tax or drain you. This could be a mystical awakening that comes by realizing exactly what kinds of drains or sucks of energy are burdening you. So you do want to be careful of that.
I would say any kind of daily routines of work or self-care that are spiritual in nature, moving from just doing things to feel good as a way of taking care of myself, to doing things that really cultivate a higher quality of consciousness, love, compassion, surrender. The cultivation of those qualities right now, with care and a sense of devotion, can lead to some pretty profound breakthroughs in work, in health and so forth.
All right, for Scorpios, we're looking at the fifth house. Fomalhaut and the north node here are very creative, very romantic, very fertile, with a strong pull toward things like artistic performance, imaginative artistic inspiration, self-expression.
Any kind of romantic experiences that you have right now may feel mystical and very spiritual. This is the kind of thing where, be careful that you don't fall in love with the person you're seated next to at the ayahuasca ceremony. I saw that happen one too many times.
I'm teasing, but the romantic experiences, the creative pull, the mystical quality of these things coming together can be quite inspiring and overwhelming. You don't want fantasy to override reality.
Love or creativity, this could be the kind of placement where you're mystically convinced that you're supposed to have a child, and it turns out you were just really, really horny and hanging out with someone that was spiritually compatible but maybe not personally compatible. Oh, we're silly fools, all of us.
Anyway, there could also be just a sense here that the mystical and the creative are coming together. I think that's the main thing.
Let's go on to Sagittarius. Sorry to poke fun at all of us, though.
Sagittarius rising. We've got Pisces in the fourth with Fomalhaut and the north node conjoining in the fourth. Think about emotional and ancestral healing as central to the plot line right now.
On an evolutionary level, the need to create a spiritually warm, inviting, safe, grounded space, but not so grounded that it's not safe, warm, receptive. Like a cozy, have you guys ever heard of those things called biomats? Reminds me of a biomat. It's warm and restorative and healing and a touch mystical.
Aside from creating an inner sanctuary, a sanctuary of healing and connection to mystical currents of healing, let's call it that, the need to establish healthy boundaries and clarity around home life or family life. The inner life may deepen.
There may be a feeling that what's happening around home and family right now is a part of an undeniable sense of spiritual growth or awakening. Now, sometimes when you have a lot of family synchronicities, someone passes away, a child is born, someone's getting married, someone's getting divorced, you're moving.
These things can coincide with some of the deepest mystical realizations, where a lot of things that we may know intellectually become real to us because of the embodied way that they are happening. But anyway, look for mystical experience, otherworldly experience surrounding home and family.
All right, let's go on to Capricorn. We place the Fomalhaut north node conjunction into the third house. So if you're a Capricorn rising, then we have this Fomalhaut north node conjunction in the third house where communication is featured, your psychology is featured, development of skills and intellect is featured.
So writing, teaching, speaking from mystical inspiration, romantic visionary states, maybe states of mind that are a little ungrounded or untethered to reality. That may not be a bad thing.
On the other hand, you could feel a little mentally wobbly, or you could feel a little ungrounded on the rational level. That could be very creative, but it also could feel a little unstable, emotionally or mentally.
A calling to translate something visionary or mystical into language. It's possible that misunderstandings or unclear thoughts, words, communications take place with this one, but a lot of heightened sensitivity flowing through your psychology or communication dynamics with other people.
I would say some need to include a mode. It's almost like your mind needs to change to incorporate a different or larger understanding of reality. So I can see a lot of Capricorns having experiences that really change your mind in the way you see other people and see things, and that may have some immediate need for expression or articulation, too.
If you're someone who writes, you may need to write about it, a podcast about it, something like that. Non-ordinary states of consciousness in the realm of the mind and psychology. Also, I didn't mention anything about siblings, but sibling karma around spirituality, grounded versus ungrounded qualities and siblings or peers, things that you're dealing with like that too.
All right, Aquarius rising puts Pisces in the second, where we have the topics of money, finances, material assets, the desire to earn or produce something around money or business, to make or have things, possess things.
To have them in relation to creative, spiritual or compassionate work could be at the heart of this. When money, business earnings, financial things need to shift toward meaning and inspiration, you want to look for almost a mystical reorientation of things surrounding business assets and material resources.
However, you also want to be careful of a bit of projection or fantasy. For example, with Fomalhaut and the north node, you could start getting really into, I'm going to manifest everything. I'm never going to have to work again. That's just not realistic.
Not that I don't believe in manifesting and the power of manifesting, but I think this is the kind of thing that could have people over-investing in some startup project they feel really excited about. It's mystical bottled water, you know? Be careful.
Finally, Pisces rising, identity shift. This is the last of the stuff happening here. Got another eclipse coming up in August in your first house, but Saturn was in your first house forever. Neptune is in your first house forever. Eclipses are closing out here. North node across Fomalhaut, continuing that theme of identity shift. Life direction changing.
Maybe the desire here is to incorporate mystical elements of life more closely into your sense of identity. This is where I start identifying with a faith path or a spiritual practice, or I start identifying as a healer, or I start identifying with a mission or a vision that starts to become clearer.
The receipt of a mission, a vision and inspiration that wants to personally refine or redefine who you are. That would make a lot of sense right now. But also, a lot of times we have spiritually inspired experiences, and then we get a little delusional.
We think, well, now I have to be the next great healer, or now I have to create the next big business or something. A lot of the times, all we really need to do is thank the universe for an enlightening experience and then figure out how to create space in our lives for spiritual practice and spiritual growth.
Not immediately think how do I capitalize on something? That would be a shadow of Fomalhaut and the north node in the first house.
So that is what I've got for you guys today. I hope this was fun and interesting. I feel like a royal star like this, in my experience, even if you've never really gotten into fixed stars, pay attention to it over the next month. I don't think it will disappoint you if you take some time to track it.
So that's what I've got for you. Next there is an informational video about year one. This program is awesome. It's on sale right now on the website. You can take advantage of that before the sale ends. And there is need-based tuition as well. So stick around. I'll tell you more about it next. Have a great day, everybody. Bye.
Hey everyone, thanks for sticking around. I'm excited to tell you about our upcoming program, Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic. This is our first year class in ancient Hellenistic astrology, and it begins again in June. I'm going to tell you about this program and all that it includes so you know exactly what to expect if you decide to come and study with us.
I want to start by talking a little bit about how you know if it's the right time to study astrology or not, which is a question I get asked all the time. First of all, I would say that the way that you know you're ready to study astrology at a deeper level and take a more serious class is that it doesn't just feel like curiosity any longer.
It feels like something that you can't stop thinking about, or a way of seeing the world and viewing your experiences that you constantly think about, almost like a filter that you experience life through. If you are often thinking about fate and free will, purpose, meaning, if you tend to see and understand and experience symbolism in everyday events all of the time.
These are some of the key things that I've noticed generally start happening for people when they might be ready to study astrology more seriously. Some people don't just like astrology. There's a call to study it. There's a call for it to be a primary spiritual form of practice, or maybe even professional practice.
I want to talk about who this is right for. People who want to go deeper, not just memes, not just horoscopes, not just taking in content passively, but for people who love symbolism, who love myth, who love divination, who want a structured path with a stable lineage.
Lots of students and people have come through our programs. Our programs have helped build many professional careers at this point in the larger field of astrology. If you feel a little bit overwhelmed with trying to weed through or sort through all of the information that's out there on your own, beginners are absolutely welcome in this program with no prior experience, because we start from the ground up.
At the same time, people who already have a background and are more intermediate or advanced but have not yet gone through a structured study of ancient Hellenistic astrology, ancient philosophy and the ancient practices and techniques of this craft, you're going to be starting in the same place that beginners are.
Your background in astrology will help you tremendously. But this is a program that is ideally for total beginners, or people who are new to Hellenistic astrology and have never gotten that traditional background.
I want to talk about what you're going to learn in the program. You're going to learn the foundations of ancient traditional astrology, starting with some history, some basic astronomy and philosophy to help you really understand what is karma, what is fate, what is destiny, what is divination, what is the epistemological mode of understanding that ancient people were living in.
They were living, for example, in an animistic sense of the cosmos that they thought spoke through the oracle of the planets and stars. What does that mean for us today? Where does the study of fate, destiny, karma, the evolution of the soul, play into all of this? Transmigration, reincarnation.
We really try to set a strong philosophical foundation, and from there we move through the primary components of the language, planets, signs, houses, and then the different ways in which those features interact with each other through things like aspects, dignity, accidental and essential dignity.
And then we start tying things together through interpretive methodology. All of this is something that if you have a background in modern astrology, that'll help you, but this is also a whole other level of seriousness and specific craft-based ideas that are unique to Hellenistic astrology.
Everything we do at Nightlight incorporates a modern psychological and archetypal perspective. My background is also in modern evolutionary astrology, and I have a background in Indian philosophy and yoga. So you're going to find that there's a little bit of a cauldron of different spiritual and philosophical backgrounds that are present, even though our main focus is Hellenistic.
You're going to learn about ancient techniques, but you're also going to learn how to apply them in the modern world we live in today.
How does the course work logistically? Let's talk about that for a second. It's a year-long container. There are live classes. There are also recordings. So if you can't make it live, you can follow along with anything at your own pace.
In fact, you have a couple of years in which to work before you would have to submit an exam. The exam itself is optional only for people who are seeking certification because you're interested in practicing professionally.
We have discussion forums, discussion in and outside of class year-round. We have tutors on staff who also lead breakout sessions for review in between our major units of study. So there's 30 classes on the year, and then there's about six breakout study sessions, give or take.
Those study sessions are there to help complement the work we do in class. You can go at your own pace. Toward the end of the program, we have a lot of practice sessions that are meant to work through charts together, and that also feature live readings with real clients.
So you can see what a day in the life of practice looks like for me as a practitioner, and see all the things we're studying applied with real people in a real, live setting.
The thing to me that's most important is, why study here? Why study with me and our staff? It has to do with fit. If you love this channel, if you love the way I teach and talk about astrology, then you're probably going to really love studying with us.
The people that I've selected to be a part of my staff are people whose spiritual lifestyle and values are similar to my own, who were standout students in understanding the way that I taught and worked with the material myself in practice, and who are competent astrologers working with other people.
I've been practicing for 16 years full time. I've seen over 13,000 clients, and I have led four to five thousand students now at this point through our programs. My approach is rooted in ancient Hellenistic traditional techniques, but it has a real spiritual, ecumenical vibe at Nightlight that's really open to a lot of different traditions.
That also allows you to make your own practice and build your own meaning out of the content that we provide you with. The practical application is that you're going to have a tool that helps you navigate your life spiritually, philosophically, a practical tool that you can use for yourself, family, people you care about for the rest of your life.
At the same time, you may find, whether it's your intention or not, that you're also ready to practice for other people. Many people come through our programs and are able to practice part time to full time.
Astrology to me, the big takeaway from this is not just the learning, not just the prep for potential professional practice, but because you are going to feel confident reading charts, you're going to have a deeper understanding of the cycles of your own life and working with astrology in your own life.
But most profoundly, people tend to come out of this program feeling spiritually transformed, feeling healed, feeling like they have a spiritual path in life that will last them for the rest of their lives. When astrology becomes a daily living spiritual practice, then you know that you've really, really learned something.
That is the way that astrology is always intended to be learned, which is to accompany you as a spiritual path in life. This is absolutely huge. This is, to me, the biggest payoff of studying at Nightlight. You're being grounded in a tradition and a lineage that I have, a technical predictive tradition, but as a counseling tool and as a way of living a spiritual path.
So if you want to enroll, start date is June 28, 2026. Enrollment is now open on the website. I'm going to take you over there in a second and show you where to go. Early bird discount is available, so you're going to save majorly off the course cost.
If you register early, do that and check it out, you'll save big on the cost of the course. However, there's also need-based tuition, and there's a payment plan you can use as well. So we have some payment flexibility that's built into the way the program works.
You can do it month by month. You can pay for it up front, get that early bird discount, or you can use need-based tuition if you're hurting financially and need a lower price point. We don't want people overspending, overextending themselves, going outside of their budget.
You shouldn't have to live outside your means to study a sacred topic. That's a big belief of ours. So head over to nightlightastrology.com, go to the Courses page, click on the first year course, scroll down. You'll see everything you need to know about the program.
At the bottom you'll find the early bird payment plans. You're going to save a couple hundred dollars off the course of the program when you use the early bird rate or the early bird installment plan that does it all at once or over the course of 12 months.
But if you're like, I want to take this, but I don't have the means to do it, check out the tuition assistance, because that is going to greatly help you when it comes to making the course affordable. That allows you to pick your tuition costs per month within a range of different options that you have.
There's a price range, and we just say, pick your price within there and tell us your situation. It's that simple. Please do take advantage of it. We trust that people won't use that when they could afford it. We trust that people are using it for the right reasons. So take advantage of that. It's there for you.
If you are feeling this call to study astrology, Nightlight is a safe, sweet community space that has a lot of support built into it, relational support, community support, spiritual support. So check it out. I hope to see you guys in June.
