Hi! I’m an artist and high school ceramics teacher based in San Francisco.
My astrology practice is rooted in Hellenistic doctrines, with an eye toward the early medieval period. I had been curious about astrology since I was a kid, but never imagined studying it until I had a reading in 2020 that lit a fire in me to learn this language. I cut my teeth on Chris Brennan’s Hellenistic course, studied with Demetra George, and then spent three rich, full years at Nightlight with Adam Elenbaas.
When astrology found me, I realized I’d been in the midst of a quiet spiritual crisis. Life felt like Peggy Lee’s song “Is That All There Is?” playing on repeat. I needed to transform my relationship to my art, from arduous ambition back to the soul-work it once had been. I’d sensed this for a decade, but it took astrology’s unrelenting light to guide me through a profound re-prioritization.
Astrology is now a lifelong practice, one that defines the final third of my life. I bring to it a couple of Saturn returns and a lifetime of travel in the land of symbols, subtext, and critical thinking. For me, art is process, and so is life.
