What happens when the astrology of the heart meets the underworld of power, desire, and transformation? Over the coming months, Venus and Mars each make their way toward Pluto—and when they do, the patterns we've been avoiding have a way of rising to meet us. Venus squares Pluto not once, but three times, while Mars opposes Pluto on the eve of Venus's retrograde. These are not gentle transits. They are clarifying ones.
They ask us to look honestly at where we've given our power away, where we've people-pleased instead of spoken truth, and where attraction has become compulsion. They ask us to face what we've buried—and to do so with enough courage and detachment that we don't burn everything down in the process.
If you've been sensing that something is stirring beneath the surface, you're not wrong. These transits are arriving to help you see what needs to change—not through force, but through honest reckoning.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we're going to take a look at two aspects to Pluto that are coming up. One from Venus in the sign of Scorpio, which will actually take place twice due to Venus's retrograde, and then a powerful opposition from Mars. Every time planets like these touch Pluto, there are usually major moments of change and healing and transformation, both collectively and personally.
Of course, I focus on the personal level of things on this channel, so that's the way we're going to take a look at it psychologically, spiritually. How might this affect us? But you can guarantee that we can guarantee as astrologers that this will also be of great significance for what's happening in our world. That's how Pluto transits like these tend to operate.
So I think one of the things that I like to do is also think about how we can prepare ourselves for moments when there are collective there are moments of collective upheaval, basically, and being aware of that and sort of prepared for that in our nervous system, in our bodies, and knowing that there's going to be overlap with elements of our own personal stories, that's important. So we're going to take a look at that today. But before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe.
When you subscribe, it helps us grow and sustain what we do. We can't do that. We can't do what we do without your support. Transcripts of any of these daily talks can always be found on my website, which is nightlightastrology.com. I am pleased to take you over to the website, promote a few things today.

I also call it an oracle reading because depending on what the question is, I may involve, in addition to your natal chart, I may involve horary, the I Ching, taro, and combine it in with my analysis. Horary readings are there if you want that exclusively as well.

Well, let's put Inchepso up on the screen and take a look at these upcoming Pluto transits, which I want to look at today because it's a little quiet this week, and I think it's good to get out in front of some of these aspects that are perfecting. So, what I want to do is first take you To the Venus square, Venus is going to enter Scorpio, and the entrance of Venus into Scorpio is coming up shortly next week on the 10th of September.
Venus enters Scorpio, and then it's going to be there for quite some time because of her retrograde. The square to Pluto is the first aspect that we're going to look at. I'm going to lay out the timeline of both aspects first. Venus squares Pluto. This is around Tuesday, september 15.
If we take this forward, then we're going to see that Venus reaches her retrogradation point, and this is right around october 2, october 3. Then Venus is going to retrograde backward toward Pluto, and comes into contact with Pluto for the second time, right here. This is about Monday, October 19, into Tuesday, october 20, those two aspects from Venus to Pluto are incredibly significant, and then we're going to take Venus through her retrograde in Libra, and she will turn direct in the sign of Libra after dipping back into Libra a little bit, right around November.
14th, and then Venus is going to come forward, and of course we'll make that final square to Pluto in Aquarius around december 9 and december 10. What that means is that from September through December we have three ongoing meetings between Venus and Pluto. Those are of great significance. We're going to talk about those today, but the other thing is that sandwiched in between those aspects, Venus to Pluto making its first aspect about september 15.
After that's done, then Mars is going to enter Leo, and we have a Mars-Pluto opposition, which tends to coincide with some of the more difficult expressions of of of the the Mars Pluto dynamic in general. The opposition is probably the most intense. So this opposition will be taking place basically on the same day that Venus turns retrograde. Venus turns retrograde on october 3, october 2, and on that same day, Mars will oppose Pluto.
So then we get a little bit of a T square between the two planets. Now, if we give those two planets just a couple of days to separate. Then they're they're within three degrees of separation by october 8, and then what do you know? We're going to get Venus coming back through the square by about the 19th into the 20th. So that sequence in particular in the next couple of of weeks and months, is very powerful.
I want to look at that today in terms of what you can expect, and apart from the fact that it's repeating, which basically just means that everything we're looking at today is doubled up on, intensified, amplified, whatever word we want to use. First of all, with Venus square Pluto, let's deal with that first. With Venus square Pluto, you want to look for things like hidden power dynamics in relationships.
That's a common theme that Venus and Pluto brings up, where whatever's been lurking beneath the surface, or in the shadows, or the unconscious of various love, sex, marriage, friendship, any kind of more intimate, personal relationships, the question of power or shadow or healing and transformation within those relationships becomes really central. Venus to Pluto can also bring up very powerful forms of attraction, like moth to the flame.
Have to be careful because it can be kind of dangerous. The transit of Venus and Pluto can intensify desire and attraction to the level that it feels faded. I remember when I was a kid, there were a couple movies that came out. You probably remember them too. I was, you know, I was born in 81, so I remember these coming out when I was in probably like junior hives.
Basic instinct and fatal attraction, both very Venus Pluto types of movies. In so far as there's kind of a stalker, and you know, just the the can't help yourself. You're attracted to something that's unhealthy. I don't mean for that to sound scary, because I know some people out there really deal with stalkers, obviously, or people who are without boundary and dangerous, right?
And so I'm not trying to make light of that, but it is the combination of attraction and compulsion is something that often becomes a real shadow that has to be explored under this kind of transit. Now, if there are tendencies toward people pleasing, or I don't know, diplomacy, kind of kind of like being diplomatic to a fault. Venus Pluto will bring up situations in which you you might have to be a little bit more selfish, more than you like, but you realize that the diplomatic act, trying to play it nice, trying to play by the social etiquette or rules is just not going to work, and so you know something can't be avoided.
In other words, it has to be just dealt with because normal channels of trying to keep things polite or on the surface is just not going to work. And then I think, when it comes to pleasure, Venus and Pluto will bring up what is healthy versus destructive. It is a transit that often coincides with people getting a grip on bad habits like overspending or overeating, or yeah, maybe.
Maybe even looking at what kinds of sex or emotional dynamics of of sharing are healthy or not. Like sometimes you can realize you're a little addicted to trauma, and that you there's something in us that is attracted to things that are more complicated, and you eventually more draining than they ought to be. It's a very simple Venus Pluto realization that I'm making things too hard, and I get maybe a little bit.
I derive a little pleasure from going through some cycle of dramatic highs and lows. Well, I would also say that Venus Pluto can issue like ultimatums, like do this or it's over, or it can feel sort of ultimate and final in in the way that it affects our relationships in particular. Now, what we desire and what we want and what we're attracted to can also go through a pretty immediate transformation.
And now we're amplifying that due to Venus's retrograde and multiple aspects that Venus is going to make to Pluto during this period of time. So just the basic idea of what do I want, what do I desire, what do I find beautiful or attractive will transform pretty dramatically. Now, the the next piece is obviously the Mars piece, and that's a shorter aspect, but it is happening on the eve of Venus's retrograde, and that's going to make it a very powerful.
Remember that Venus is in Scorpio, ruled by Mars, who's opposing Pluto, as Venus is also stationing in a broad square to Pluto, so the T square. So, the opposition between Mars and Pluto can create some pretty titanic power struggles and contests of of will and power and dominance, so who's going to win? Who's more important? And and that can also be about being provoked or provoking, being intimidated or intimidating, being coerced or coercing.
Those are factors that Mars Pluto it kind of brings out the worst in us sometimes, especially the Venus square in the midst and the Venus retrograde in in Scorpio. The misuse of power, force, will, threats, pressure, bullying, manipulation, attempts to strong arm people, or you know, being pushed until you feel like you you explode and you finally have to push back, even though you don't want to.
That's would be very appropriate for this. And also, there's a need for courage when Mars and Pluto meet. But and I'm not kind of there's this like a mantra like you're not going to control me. But at the same time, you don't want to unnecessarily escalate things with people who are not going to play by the rules or who are not going to fight fair or something like that.
So there's a a level of tact that has to be used with this these transits, and that's why I think you you also have to be careful of like this very explosive level of of anger, and it has some pretty deep roots. So there's sometimes like very minor or small events can trigger huge reactions disproportionate to what was originally done because there's some kind of history beneath the surface, and it touches old wounds, especially around things like humiliation or shame or embarrassment or betrayal or or disrespected boundaries.
And then another thing that can happen is just compulsive, reactive act actions. Mars, Pluto can be like an eruption of just very impulsive decision making and and actions. If you're in the gym, it's the kind of thing where you can just like try to suddenly just get swept up in some kind of ego lift and hurt yourself, or you you become overwhelmed or overtaken by a desire or an impulse.
So the the antidote to this during these times is going to be thoughtful, measured exercise of willpower, courage, force in relationships that need to be something where something needs to be addressed or some desire needs to be explored, but in a healthy, measured way that's not just wild and destructive. And then I think also these transits put us in touch. With things that just can't be harnessed or controlled, it's like a wave on the ocean, or you know, earthquakes, or natural phenomenon like tornadoes or hurricanes.
Like, what can you do? You know, what can you do in the face of such an overwhelming force? You're just a person. So, you know, Mars likes to have a measure of control and courage and personal will that it brings to the table, but Pluto will often represent forces that are just way bigger than us that can't be controlled or contained, where there's collective events and in systems and complexes and so on and so forth.
Now, you know, I can't help but notice that there's going to be during this period we're we're in a buildup for you know elections, and that's there's probably going to be some pressure points that are touched upon in the collective, and in my experience when those things come in at the same time that personal life is ramped up, and things are happening that are more personal, and you're having to respond to those things, the overall feeling can be one of just feeling like life is is a little much right now.
So, to me, what we have to do is be willing to look at and face things head on. It's a very Marsy, very Venus and Scorpio, but with enough healthy detachment, perspective, and careful, thoughtful processing of what's coming up, that we don't do more damage in the process of changing something or looking at something than has already been done. Like a lot of what this transit will bring up is needing to go back and look at things, needing to redo things, needing to revisit things, needing to chart a new course in a healthier direction.
But we don't have to get to that point, you know, by setting everything on fire and then having even more to clean up. It's sort of like you know when when something in a relationship comes to a head, and it has a lot of past behind it, and you're facing it. People's tempers run hot, and you know people might blow up, and just there might be a in that moment you're facing something that's in the past, but you could make it a lot worse by how you respond to the past right now.
Sometimes it's sort of inevitable because things get bottled up, but when things get bottled up and it comes time to you know uncork it, the way we do it matters because we could make that inevitability worse. But anyhow, these transits are some of the most powerful of the next couple of months. We'll be spending a lot of time with them on the channel today.
I just wanted to preview them briefly, make sure you're aware of the fact that they're incoming. Start noting the position of say Pluto and Mars and Venus in these fixed signs: Leo, Aquarius, and Scorpio. Where do those land in your birth chart? What's coming up around those areas? So that's what I've got for you for today. I hope it was useful and interesting. Hope you're having a great day, and we'll see you again tomorrow. Bye.
