Here’s what to watch for both today and this week:
* Venus is at the final stages of her cycle…it’s like those last weeks of a relationship that you know is about to end, it’s like those final days of persisting in a habit that you know has got to go, its those last critical realizations we have right as we know it’s time to say goodbye. But it’s also the late life wisdom that you can only get because you’ve gone through an entire cycle of experience, hardships, and joys.
* Venus and the Sun are opposing Saturn. This transit brings to mind the arising of various challenges to our commitments or modes of operation. In the midst of so much dynamic change, signified by the mutable grand cross being formed right now, it would be easy for us to discard the practices, habits, morals, or commitments that are most important or most life giving. In many ways our practices cannot become whatever they are capable of becoming without being tested by pressures and constraints. It’s easy to compromise our beliefs or integrity when faced with overwhelming circumstances, but we should ask ourselves what we might stand to gain by sticking with something right now rather than giving up. On the other hand, petulant resistance to compromise is a quick way to sabotage ourselves. It’s likely that in the next week or two we will have to carefully consider how to retain our commitments while demonstrating flexibility and compromise simultaneously.
* Mercury is moving into an opposition with Mars. Watch for ideas and words that slice through illusion, deception, or dishonesty. Watch for a confrontational streak in written or verbal communication. Watch for actions and thoughts to be in a see-saw dynamic (acting before thinking or thinking too much and not taking action). Watch for an increase in hostile or aggressive talking, information, propaganda, and politics. Watch for empowered speech and rashness. Watch for militant idealism and sabotaging letters, words, and statements.
* Finally, today the Moon is moving from Venus and the Sun straight on to Saturn. Today’s lunar activity brings together both sides of the Venus/Sun and Saturn opposition. Watch for disagreements or negotiations between opponents to take an important turn of some kind. It’s likely that some kind of impasse is rising to the surface right now and potentially growing stronger. Today’s lunar applications offer a ray of hope for a more modest approach or exchange, or it may signal the development of an issue or event that we can start to prepare for internally in the days to come.
The late moon in Aries trine to Saturn retrograde may also signal a purging, focusing, and refining of best practices or procedures!
Prayer: Teach us to be modest and flexible in our thoughts, words, and actions this week.
