Hey everyone, this is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology, and we're going to start off this week by looking at Mercury square to Uranus. Mercury is in the sign of Aquarius. It is squaring Uranus in the sign of Taurus. And we're going to look at Mercury's trine to Mars, both of which are coming through here in the very early part of the week. So we're going to look at that; we're going to give you ten things to watch for, given this combination of planetary aspects here at the beginning of the week, which will hopefully set you up nicely for these transits. So, I accidentally left my camera on overnight, so I'm kind of on my grainy webcam, but you'll have to forgive me for that.
In the meantime, before we get into it, don't forget to like, subscribe, and share your comments and reflections. I really love hearing what you guys have to say, especially if you're getting grabbed by the transit. Use the hashtag grabbed and tell us your story or email us grabbed, grabbed@nightlightastrology.com. If you ever want, you can find transcripts of any of my daily talks written out on the website nightlightastrology.com. We just started a Masterclass series, so it is not too late to join that. So go look at the Courses page Courses tab on the website. There is need-based tuition as well. If you have any questions about any of that, email us at info@nightlightastrology.com.
Okay, let's look at the transits of the day and of this early part of the week. So here we are. So you can see right here at the very early part of the week, You can see Mercury is at the top of the chart. Uranus is in the first house; the two are moving into the square with one another. And that square is perfecting tomorrow, February 21. And then Mercury goes right into the trine with Mars by Wednesday, February 22. So we're taking a look at this today as a way of preparing now.
If you spread it out just a little bit, you'll be able to feel these archetypal combinations that we're going to talk about today all the way through Thursday, February 23, maybe into Friday a little bit with a trine Mars, but really those are the main days this week is, Monday through Thursday. So that's February 20, all the way through February 23.
Okay, ten things to watch for given this archetypal combination; of course, you have Mercury, the God of speech and writing and messengers, and the God that was associated with astrology. Astrology was the science of Hermes, and Mercury is the psychopomp, the guide of souls, and often we associate Mercury with mental and rational things. But Mercury is also a magician and a philosopher. And, of course, Uranus and Mars, when you put all these together, things can get pretty interesting.
Uranus is often associated with the archetypal figure of Prometheus and a planet that is associated with rebellion, defiance, originality, eccentric people and eccentric things, breaking habits, irreverence, progress, and innovation; I think I said that already. So then you have Mars, of course, God of War, who is in Mercury's sign right now. So you have a very kind of analytical and executive Mars at the moment, too. So here are ten things to watch for, given this combination. And given that the trine to Mars is pretty positive, squares to Mercury squares for Mercury and Taurus, excuse me, Uranus in these signs shouldn't be that bad either. So I think most of these, there are a few things to watch out for that we'll go over, but most of these I think you'll find maybe very useful this week.
So number one is innovation. This is a transit that often correlates with innovative thinking. So just the main thing this week is if you have those light bulbs firing off and you're are suddenly getting a new idea. Something that you know, for something an original idea, whether it's in business or it's like kind of insight about yourself, you'll find that one of the key features of this transit is that it is innovative and often sort of original thinking or innovative thinking are hallmarks of this combination of planets.
The number two on my list of 10 today is outspokenness. You will find that you are more willing to say something to assert something to bravely contend with an idea that you don't like or to speak up or speak out; you will find that there's more of a sense of I don't care what people think. So that's number two outspokenness.
Number three would be defiance. The resistance to authority, resistance to tradition, resistance to habit, resistance to just blindly doing the same thing the way that it's always been done. So there's a desire for revolution that has a kind of a defiant aura around it, especially on the level of thought and mind communication and speech, philosophy, and thinking. So watch for that kind of defiant attitude this week.
Number four would be creative problem solving. You will find that there is not a better transit really than Mercury combinations of Mercury, Mars positively configured, or Mercury Uranus positively configured, meaning trine sextiles aspects with reception, et cetera; Squares with Mercury and Uranus may provide a little tension. But often, the result of that tension is coming up with a problem too, or a solution to a problem that seems like it's immovable, like it just won't, something that just won't budge, you will suddenly find that you have you've had a breakthrough moment and epiphany that helps you realize exactly what you can do to get through some kind of block or obstacle wonderful part of this transit.
Number five sudden changes of mind. Don't be surprised if this week you're thinking about something, your outlook, your perception, a judgment that you have of someone or something suddenly changes and maybe dramatically so because new information comes to the surface or you have an experience that suddenly frees up a formerly rigid way of thinking or looking at something or someone. So sudden changes of mind are a very common part of this transit.
Number six would be breaking up a part of mental habits or any kind of habit really. If your thinking changes about something or any way of being habitually wired or just your daily habits that you are sort of entrained to, you will find that your ability to do things differently, to think differently, and to see through to a completely different way of approaching something. So one of the benefits of that kind of breakthrough in thought or perception will be the ability to get rid of old habits that just aren't working any longer. Usually, with a transit this fast, unless it's configured to planets in your chart, it's not going to necessarily be like, okay, like it might take a little bit more to quit smoking or something, you know, like, but you can change little things quickly with this transit. And for some people, that will be big things, but breaking up mental habits and finding more freedom, greater freedom, and space is a hallmark of this transit.
Number seven cutting words or biting remarks. Be careful of the sass, this transit has some real sass behind it, and it's a transit that will often have you sort of shooting off at the mouth, as they say, and flying off the handle, especially if you feel like someone is telling you to do something and you don't want to do it, or someone is trying to force you into a box that you don't feel like getting into this is a more reactive transit when it comes to quick, fast verbal smackdowns you have to be a little bit careful of that. No, and also anything that's a little bit more. Well, I'll get to that in a second.
So number eight is techno-wizardry. So techno-wizardry to me could be something really simple like hey, it's time to upgrade my phone, or it's time to get a new laptop, or it's somehow I'm buying something to make my life easier even if it's something in the kitchen like a blender or something I don't know. Anything that is like you say, you know what, I just need something, a piece of technology, a machine, a device to help me with something very common. It's even it's common also too for people to be like oh look, I can use Google Voice while I drive to look up the location on my GPS, and I never know knew how to use it before. I mean, sometimes It's like super basic like that. And it can fly under your radar because, again, it's a fast moving transit, and I just never am surprised at how suddenly some use of technology, usually for the sake of making something faster or easier, will suddenly just kind of pop up when these two planets get together.
Alright, number nine is provocative thinking or communication by provocative, I mean, ideas that push the envelope, is that the phrase, or that are just, like edgy or that feel like, Ooh, wow, that's I don't know if you want to say that one. You know, he's, like, the, even the, like, the fear of saying something, because if, let's say like, if you're a public figure, that you would get canceled, like, if I say this thing that's really on my mind, like someone will, you know, people might get mad or offended or something, but I'm gonna say it anyway, right? That's such a Mercury, Uranus, with Mercury, Mars kind of dilemma.
Sometimes the provocative thing is the best thing. And sometimes it represents an impulse that needs to be, like, carefully worked with under this transit, so you kind of have to use some inner discernment. This is also a transit that can very easily be about saying the thing that will push people's buttons just to push people's buttons, almost like a childlike teenage rebellious angst, just to be careful of that. But sometimes that's called for. So again, inner discernment is key here. It's amazing how quickly lots of things can shift because you follow a provocative idea and communicate it effectively. Or, you know, implement it effectively and sort of strategically under this transit.
Number 10, last but not least, is speed of mind. Now, this comes with the downside of recklessness and impulsiveness; because of the speed of mind, it's a little bit like you're getting plugged into, you know, an outlet or you're taking some kind of cosmic speed.
So you have to be a little bit careful, in terms of the tendency towards fast, adaptable, quick, innovative, original, you know, these things are the hallmarks of the transit in the best sense. But you also do have to be careful of the degree to which this transit can kind of, you know, you can sort of fly by the seat of your pants, and oftentimes, you'll be like, you're almost possessed by a kind of like mania, like, Oh, this is the best thing, and I don't care what people think, and I'm going to say it, and I'll give a damn. And, you know, really quickly, people will put their foot in their mouth or go a little too far. Or, you know, and also when it comes to like driving in traffic like or just dealing with people in the grocery line, you just have to be careful of the potential to sort of fly off the handle because you're, you're triggered and then like quickly reacting. So the speed of mind is a double edged sword, and just keep that under consideration.
Those are my ten things to watch for over the next couple of days. Got to sort of get this going right away at the start of the week and just give you guys, you know, kind of unpack the archetypes that are really constantly eating this week, a lot of air which can also be very social, so I wouldn't be surprised to see all of these things a little bit more socially enmeshed not just internal. With Uranus in Taurus, there may be a level at which some of this comes around to things like the body, desire, love, and sensuality. Venusian things may come up; this may have something to do with love and relationships saying that also because Venus has just entered Aries this week, where she's a little bit quicker to fight and engage, but there's also like a kind of like passion that can be really dynamic and energizing. So just, you know, kind of keep in mind a little spicy.
All right, that's what we've got to start the week. I have lots of good stuff coming this week, including a talk on aliens that should be fun. Pluto and Aquarius and aliens. We're going to do a little deep dive into Venus into Aries. We're gonna do a flashback episode that I did on Aquarius and aliens from a few years ago just to refresh because it's sort of crazy that it came up, and I talked about it coming up. When Jupiter and Saturn got together in the early degrees of Aquarius, they did a whole video talking about how this new conjunction could be moving us toward greater interest in or awareness of, you know, things like UFOs and aliens. It was just a fun episode. I kind of didn't think I was like, oh, probably is not going to be something that comes up right away, but Pluto is about to enter Aquarius and hit those early degrees. So here we go. Anyway, it's just meant to be a fun episode. I hope you guys will enjoy that. We're wrapping up our Tao Te Ching for astrologers series this week as well. So lots of good stuff to come. Hope you guys are having a nice start to your week, and we will see you again soon. Bye.
