Today, we will take a look at Jupiter's upcoming trine to Pluto. Once Jupiter enters the sign of Gemini, it will immediately form a trine with Pluto in Aquarius, creating one of the most potent aspect configurations of 2024. This trine moves through relatively quickly, but the two planets will remain configured by whole sign for most of Jupiter's time in Gemini, making this initial connection crucial for understanding their dynamic over the next year. We'll explore five key things to watch for in this powerful trine and continue to examine this connection in future videos.

Hi, everyone; this is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology. Today, we are going to take a look at Jupiter's upcoming trine to Pluto. Once Jupiter enters the sign of Gemini and Air sign, it will immediately start making a trine to Pluto in Aquarius. That trine is one of the most powerful trines of the year, one of the most powerful aspectual configurations of 2024. So we're going to take a look at it today. It moves through relatively quickly, so it's not the world's longest transit. However, the two are configured by a whole sign for most of the entire time that Jupiter will spend in Gemini. With the exception of a brief interlude where Pluto backs into the very last degree of Capricorn, the two will be configured in a whole sign trine. This initial connection between the two of them is, therefore, really important when it comes to understanding the connection between the two planets throughout the course of the next year. Anyhow, so today we're going to take a look at Jupiter's trine to Pluto and five different things to watch for; this will be one of a number of videos that we do on this topic; we'll keep turning the archetypal jewel of the Jupiter Pluto connection, trying to catch the light bouncing off from it at different angles. So anyway, that's our goal for today.
As always, before we get into it, don't forget to press the like button and subscribe. If you're new, we would love to have your subscription to the channel. You can find transcripts of any of my daily talks, including today's, on the website nightlight astrology.com. Right now, we are promoting a couple of things. You can go to the events page for live talks to see the June talk on the 12th House on June 13. I'm giving a talk on the 12th House. I hope to see you there. It is from seven to 9pm Eastern. If you can't make it live, we send you the recording.
In July, I'll be doing a talk on Uranus in Gemini. Then, on the Courses page, you'll see the first-year Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic course, which begins June 16. It is not too late to register. We also have need-based tuition assistance available. Suppose you go back to about the last three or four weeks' worth of content.
At the end of every video, I attached an informational video about the course. So, if you look back at the main groups, for example, you can find that informational video. If you want to learn more about the program if you have any questions, of course, you can always email us at info@nightlightastrology.com
Take advantage of the enrollment period while it's still open. Our horary course in the second year begins in June as well. The horary program begins on June 22. After today's video, if you stick around, you can learn more about horary astrology, this ancient, beautiful form of predictive astrology; you need to have a little bit of a background in traditional astrology to take that program. If you want to learn more about horary and see an example of a horary chart from my practice, stick around after I sign off today. I've got an informational video about the horary program that we're now running after the normal content for the day is done. So those are our announcements and promotions for the day. Let's go on to our content now. And I'm going to put the chart up on the screen and point a few things out.
So, what I want to point out is that we started talking about Venus and Jupiter this week, so that's the imminent transit in front of us. What's going to happen after Jupiter initially enters the sign of Gemini? Sorry, guys. It is immediately going to make a trine to Pluto in Aquarius; you can see the sun today has just entered Gemini in the past 24 hours and is also just making that trine to Pluto and Aquarius, and then we're gonna see that trine being made from a whole bunch of planets if we advance this just a couple of days. Let's do that. Here we go. We're gonna see, first of all, Venus enters Gemini and starts making the trine to Pluto. This is May 24 into the 25th, and then shortly after that, we're going to see Jupiter entering Gemini, and then the total engagement range begins; as soon as the 25th when Jupiter enters Gemini, we're going to see that trine play out. This is here's the exact trine being made around June 1 and June 2, and then it passes over by June 3. So that's it, that's the exact hit, and then, of course, Mercury comes through the trine as well by early June.
So this is a big flurry of trines from Gemini to the Pluto and Aquarius placement. The reason that this is significant for Jupiter to Pluto is it's a longer, slower trine. If you give it three degrees of separation, we're going to see Jupiter not fully separate from Pluto until about the middle of June within three degrees of separating. And so it's it's just there to weighty planets. You know, they're both like Titans, so, so anyway, they're both like just They make some big shifts when they get together and a trine between the trends of the nature of Jupiter, they are smooth, harmonious and they tend to bring about benefits blessings, allies help good kind of good energy for the mobilization of resources, the realization of intentions, aspirations, making connections that are fruitful, finding a kind of fertile energy that provides or helps with the momentum for things.
So generally speaking, you know, trines are good, but it is interesting to consider a trine with Pluto because Pluto, we know, is this Lord of the Underworld where there are forces and energies that we don't see, we don't necessarily understand they are chaotic, but they are also life-giving. When they are released, they have a way of being both destructive and regenerative. And so Jupiter, this planet of expansion, and you know, a planet that was called the greater benefic connecting in a trine with Pluto, is a very interesting signature. So, I've got five things for us to start thinking about. And again, we will continue to break this transit down in the weeks to come.
Number one. You think about the combination of Jupiter and Pluto in terms of words like depth, which is Plutonian, and expansion, which is Jupiterian, fertility which is Jupiterian; and primal energy, which is very similar to fertility; primal energy may be a little bit more chaotic like if I think about Jupiter and fertility I think about the fact that Jupiter was said to be the ruler of sperm, the little like seed giving source, right? Primal energy, I think a little bit more about that quality in nature that leads to, you know, sexual desire itself, the tension inherent in nature to procreate or something like that.
So, when you think about Pluto, you're thinking about libido, in a way. And when you think about Jupiter, you're thinking about the actual, like a seed that's planted in the soil that, with the right conditions, flourishes and grows, or an egg or something like that being, you know, like conceptions very Jupiterian, the force that leads to people to be attracted and to make a baby. That's a little bit more Plutonian. Right.
So anyway, you get the idea that when you combine these two energies, you get this window of kind of dark libidinal desire that is hungry, sometimes lusty, complex, but like raw, primal energy, and you're expanding it with the sort of light and life-giving and supportive quality of Jupiter, which is really profound. So when the two come together, the idea is that those libidinal, deeply transformative, and regenerative qualities can become magnified and expanded. And maybe we can connect with them in a way that's lighter and easier. You know, Pluto is not the easiest energy to connect with because it's so powerful. And oftentimes, we can't help but it's a little edgy.
Anytime you encounter Pluto, even if it's a very life-giving, supportive, sort of fertile Pluto, which is often the Pluto we deal with. There's still like an edginess. And it's a little ominous and foreboding. And it's a little intense. With Jupiter, it might take the edge off; it's like, oh, here's a really regenerative window of time that we're working through. Things are really transforming rapidly in a way that is intense and has that transformative evolutionary bigness that Pluto brings, but there's an aura of lightness and ease surrounding it. That could be the most positive way of thinking about it.
On the other hand, you get the feeling that something that's good and, ultimately, uplifting could still be quite deep and intense when it comes to Jupiter-Pluto, where, you know, Jupiter can actually expand or magnify the sort of destructive and regenerative qualities of Pluto so that it's like, okay, well, this is good, but it's still very intense. And actually, the intensity and the drama sort of ratcheted up a few notches. So consider these general energetic qualities. I'm starting with the sort of broadest, most general combination of Jupiter and Pluto.
Now, when it comes to them both being an air sign, that's important because the air was related to the social dimension of life, the realm of opinions, and as well as the realm of rationality and the mind.
So, insofar as we are social beings, and ideas are socialized and ended up constructing our social reality, that's air. It's sort of like saying, if you look at the city skyline, you should think of air, right? You should think of air because those are all ideas that people had that circulated and were agreed upon. And on some level, even if it wasn't the best level or whatever, they were agreed upon. And then those ideas were made manifest. They said, let's take this blueprint and these ideas and build a city that looks like this: big, tall buildings and whatever, with bridges and so forth.
So when you think about air, think about the realm of thoughts, ideas, rational constructs, and triangles in the mind of God, but bring them down and sort of socialize them in the human world among people. These are areas related to language, such as communication and other things. So when Jupiter is in an Air sign, like Gemini, the sign of Hermes, double bodied Air sign, very flexible, very open-minded, very gregarious, outgoing, fun, mischievous, a little, and very magical in the way that it will in the next year, we will all be working with new thoughts and ideas and socializing thoughts and ideas in our lives with different people. And then you hit this trine to Pluto in Aquarius, which is much more like Pluto, and Aquarius is much more like, you know, the engineering classroom of the universe. It's like the big picture, the big structural and paradigmatic ideas that shape the cosmos. Aquarius is so much larger and overarching.
And it has that sense of distance and loftiness because it's ruled by Saturn, the most distant of the planets that have that sense of being closest to the realm of the gods, farthest away from the realm of Earth. So big. That's why we talk about Aquarius with respect to potential the human potential movement and stuff like that. Any ideas that we have that we believe our overarching ideas that ought to structure or shape humanity are also potentially dangerous, potentially dogmatic, potentially alienating, ostracizing, or dissociating? It all comes with it as a risk.
When you combine it with Jupiter in Gemini, though, a place that is so much more like Jupiter, and Gemini is much more like a coffee shop as opposed to an engineering classroom. And so it's as though big ideas are able to be socialized and played with that. It's like big, huge, lofty Olympian-sized ideas, paradigmatic structural ideas about reality, right? They start coming down and circulating like cross pollinators, and we start working with them, and they start commingling in a much more accessible everyday space in our lives. Gemini is like a bustling coffee shop.
It's like the busyness of a subway system and people conversing on, you know, although there are, you know, enough, I've seen enough like, videos pop up in my feeds of like crazy things happening on subways, that instantly comes to my mind. But I guess in some ideal sense, it's like the places where people come and go and exchange thoughts and words and communicate. And so you think about this busy bee hive this year. Jupiter in Gemini starts with this very powerful encounter with Pluto and Aquarius, who are presenting these big structural ideas and Pluto's retrograde, so Pluto is asking us to consider changes to these big structures and paradigms. And then Jupiter hits it by trine and says, let's start talking about that.
Let's start moving that energy all around into different places and people and things like that. So, there is the potential for a dramatic death and rebirth of mind intelligence, understanding, taking big ideas and bringing them down, sort of commingling them, starting to converse about them, and getting excited about different thoughts and ideas.
Three is the amplification of the dark side of our ambitions with a power or force of our desires in general. So I say dark side because Pluto and Jupiter getting together can amplify the dark side of our drive or our desire for success, right? Jupiter is always associated with victory. Jupiter is associated with crowning achievements with promotions and with gain growth and abundance.
It's like the Cornucopia image is very Jupiter, and we'll connect that in a trine with Pluto, and you get this idea of unbridled success or the dark side of my ambitions and desire for success or wealth or opulence or fame or prestige or anything that Jupiter signifies that is sort of, you know, a crowning achievement in human life, relatively speaking to our lives that might be like I want to be the best mom or it might be like, I want to be the best astrologer or someone else's like I want to be I want to win an Oscar you know, who knows. But the point is, regardless of what our ambitions look like, Pluto and Jupiter can get together and amplify those desires and images of victory and success and sort of empower and embolden them, which may be a good thing.
Maybe we need a nudge in that direction to be more bold about what we're trying to accomplish. And maybe we'll find, and I'm going to talk about this in another one, a period of rapid change achievement, right? But we also have to be careful of the dark side of our ambitions, where Pluto Jupiter is a little bit like a deal with the devil; I'm going to give you success, but it's going to come at this cost of this unconscious material that's wrapped up in the success that you are going to have to look at later.
So that's always maybe a part of it, or just general take it off the dark side and just say, sometimes we're not in touch with the real life-giving power of our actual desires. Because we place them aside, we think, Oh, that's not nice, or it's not polite to want things or, or we don't know, we sort of neuter ourselves when it comes to our life-giving energy and desires and drives, right? So this would be a transit that starts to amplify the power of our desires and motivations and hunger and thirsts and things like that, which may be a good thing, but maybe it's not a good thing; its context is everything.
Number four would be abuses of power. Look, Jupiter can represent structures of power, societal or personal. It can be about the power of someone you know, in a company, a dad, or a teacher, or just power wherever it lies. And it can be about the magnification of that power, the amplification of it like if you that's why I say, for example, I've been saying throughout the course of the past month that this is a particularly good transit to start studying something under. I've been using that as a way to say, hey, it's a good time to start studying astrology.
Because when Jupiter and Pluto get together, the amplification of your understanding of deep, deep material, deep philosophical material, spiritual material, ancient hermetic philosophy, like this is a great time to sort of get in touch with the life-changing power of a system of knowledge or wisdom, right? It's a good transit for that. Now, on the other hand, you would want to be careful, for example, that with Pluto and Jupiter, you don't know that you're joining a cult. So beware.
I do, but that's what I get for using a transit to promote my program. Jupiter-Pluto, is there any way in which something that ought to be empowering and transformative in a way that's enlightening, like Jupiterian, is actually dark? For example, I would say that an example of Jupiter trine Pluto would be maybe a teacher that is feeling themselves a little bit too much and gets, I don't know, some kind of humbling experience where they have to kind of adjust their ego so that it's about the material not about their own success, right. That would be a very Jupiter trine Pluto kind of experience to have.
Anyway, number five would be a rapid period of evolution, success, and growth with potential shadows or temptations involved. Jupiter-Pluto is also about just releasing a wave of supportive growth-oriented developmental successful energy that can, I mean, truly just be magnificent. However, what comes with it again might be potential shadows or temptations that we have to look at along the way. What kind of success is the right kind of success, and what kind of growth or support development and progress is the right kind in this situation? Maybe you have to be a little discerning about that.
So anyway, these are five things that come to my mind when I think about Jupiter and Pluto coming into the trine. But this is just the beginning, folks; we are going to explore this transit in several more videos to come, and we'll be doing horoscopes with them as well. So we can actually look at the whole sign house of Gemini and Pluto and give you a sense of how those places might be connected with this transit, which for sure is doing those in June's horoscopes.
So anyway, that's it for now; if you stick around, you can learn more about the upcoming horary program and see if you've never learned about horary before; you can see me do a horary reading and the video I've tagged on after I sign off and if you feel like maybe studying it, you can learn more about how to do that as well. And don't forget all of our other programs began in June. Two, if you are in need of some help. We do have need-based tuition assistance, so head on over to nightlight astrology.com.
