Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology. Happy Monday, everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at Jupiter's upcoming square with Saturn. This is one of the great historical cycles that astrologers have been tracking for a very long time, 1000s of years. The synodic cycle between Jupiter and Saturn got started in December of 2020 when the two planets conjoined in Aquarius.
By the way, that's where Pluto is sitting right now, at the zero-degree marker of Aquarius. And now the two planets come together in their opening square. So we're going to talk a little bit about that cycle and, more specifically, what you can start to watch for, given the combination of Saturn, Pisces, and Jupiter in the sign of Gemini. So that is our agenda for the day.
Before we get into it, don't forget to like and subscribe. We are trying to get to 70,000 subscribers on the channel by the Fall Equinox. We're getting closer. We're just about at 67, so it's a big push to try to get there. We'll see what we can do. If you are regularly watching the channel but have not just subscribed yet, we really appreciate you. Subscribing helps everything that we do to grow a little bit more.
You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website, nightlightastrology.com, I want to take you over to the website right now to promote a few things. One, I am really, really excited for this month's webinar.
If you go to live talks, you will see that under the live talks page on August 22, I'm giving a talk on The Eighth House: The Place of Karmic Debts. This is a talk that will explore all of the major significations of the eighth house, the topics of the topics of the eighth house, as well as why people tend to get really freaked out by this house, what you should and shouldn't be worried about with respect to this house. So I think that'll be a good one. If you can't attend live, you get the recording when you register, you get the link to the webinar, and then recording if you can't make it. I'm also very excited to show you a new class that we have. This is a pre-recorded class for people who are at absolute beginner's level. So we have this called Astrology Essentials, The Beginner's Course. This is our pre-sale. The pre-sale will start today, August 12, and will run all the way through August 26. This is the pre-sale.
The actual course will be on sale, starting the middle of September, when our year one program goes on sale. So this is like, and that's the time at which the recording will be released. About the middle of September is when you'll actually get the delivery of this, course. But if you want to buy it now, it is on sale, and you'll get the sale price. And then that price, obviously, only lasts between now and the 26th.
So anyway, in this class, it's for absolute beginners who are like, I'm really interested in this. Something about this has grabbed my attention, but I know nothing about astrology. So we're going to be looking at things like what astrology is and how it works. A little bit of the history. We're going to talk about what planet signs and houses are. We're going to talk about what aspects and dignities are and what our timing techniques are.
All of this is meant to introduce people to astrology, give them some basic familiarity with concepts and theory, and be a crash course for total beginners. This is also perfect for people who are thinking, you know, I might want to study more, say, our year one program, but you need a little bit of background before you come into the year one program. If you are at absolute, you know if you're at the absolute beginning. You'll see all of the modules laid out here, and you can see what they include. If people are interested in helping a family member, a friend, or a spouse understand what astrology is.
This would be a great course for that, or for people who are just like just getting into astrology and really looking for a basic course to help them gain entry-level understanding. The early bird payment is $199 for eight modules worth of recordings. So, I'm in the process of recording them right now. So they'll be released in mid-September. I believe that they're going to come in, all in all, probably around eight to 10 hours worth of content. So, it's a really good deal right now.
The early bird payment saves you about $50 off the normal costs that will be coming in in the middle of September, when all of the program is actually released, and you can access the recordings and watch the course. So, I'll be promoting this between now and the 26th and hope that some of you will be able to take advantage of it and start your journey. Learn. Start your journey learning astrology.
All right, on that note, let's switch gears now to looking at the real-time clock. So here we have it, and what I am pointing out today is very simple. We're looking at Jupiter squaring Saturn. They are within about a degree of one another right now, and this is the big week. We'll see that Mars and Jupiter can join. We did a little bit of on that last week. We'll do a little bit more on that, probably tomorrow. As they conjoin, then Mars will square Saturn. We'll certainly be looking at that this week, and then gradually, we see Jupiter starting to square Saturn by the end of this week.
That will be building all week since they are only one degree apart right now, and then, of course, we have a major period of activity between about the 17th or 16th of the month and the 21st when we have just a flurry of activity that will be taking place. We'll be looking at that later in the week because a lot of that comes in over the weekend.
So that includes a full moon that the Moon and Sun are both square to Uranus. It includes Venus opposite Saturn. It includes Mercury going through cazimi in a square with the sun to Uranus. So it is just a busy, busy time at the end of this week, I feel like the big the thing I wanted to start this week off with is the Jupiter Saturn dynamic.
So the best way that I know, the simplest and best way that I know how to explain the significations of Jupiter Saturn cycles is to say that they represent major paradigmatic shifts or structural or organizational changes, which could be in our mind, in our psychology. It could be at work. It could be in our relationships, our parenting, or our home. But when you think about Jupiter, you're thinking about the planet that grants a large overarching sense of cohesion and unity to life through often through institutions that represent our highest values as a human species: law, justice, education, connection to divinity through religion, the legal system, ideally speaking, those things are institutions that are meant to reflect what keeps a culture, a society, together.
And so when Jupiter is squaring Saturn, we are often at a crossroads for those paradigms, for the legal system, for the religious institution, or for any other overarching structures, be they psychological, mental, emotional, relational, because they can exist on all different levels.
We have a way in which our most intimate relationships have a kind of inherent structure to them and a way in which they work, and they have a kind of order, a meaningful ordering, and placement of things psychically. Sometimes there's lots of dysfunction in those structures, right? But whenever Jupiter hits Saturn, it's as though we approach a crossroads. What will I do from this moment going forward? There is very important feedback suggesting the need for something brand new.
Okay, so the opening conjunction was in the sign of Aquarius. A lot of highly social, collective implications for this cycle, right? It is a very mundane cycle, in a sense, because of how collective Aquarius tends to be in the things that planets in Aquarius signify. So, governmental, social, cultural, etc, but for us personally, also look at that whole sign house of Aquarius. That's where the cycle got started in your birth chart.
Now we have the two planets, Jupiter and Saturn, meeting the square and Saturn, as Saturn represents the limits and decay and death, as well as the transcendence of limits and what exists on the other side of a limit. Saturn is like a gateway between something known or traditional or past and something future. Saturn was the planet associated with oppositions, and so Saturn is really a planet that sort of straddles the line between opposites and will often bring up our most acute, you know, problems and polarizations with opposites, as well as the need to move from one side to another, or to learn how to hold the tension of two things simultaneously. That's the wisdom and maturity of Saturn.
So, at any rate, when the two planets get together, it is as though these various structures or institutions in our personal lives or collectively are going through a period of decay, breakdown, revision, death, and also remaking. Jupiter and Saturn are like winter and spring together.
So we're looking at kind of like a moment of decay and breakdown and also transition, where the feedback that's coming in can help us to create healthier new paradigms or systems or structures that create that larger cohesion but are informed by a moment of greater maturing, or a moment of deep reflection upon what's working and what isn't and so forth.
So a lot of this comes down to understanding and mental intellectual philosophical revisions are really natural and happen quite a bit with these two planets combining, we get a chance to reflect on what's working and what isn't working and what to do about it based on some kind of philosophical change or. Change of mindset or organizational approach or something like that.
Anyway, Jupiter square Saturn, five things to watch for, in my humble opinion, as it's approaching this week. But also remember, it repeats in December. We get it again next year. So this is an ongoing process, and it will also change as the planets change signs in square one more time next spring. We'll talk about that another time.
Number one would be an inability to see the truth being addressed. So, an inability to see the truth is being addressed. I worded that kind of awkwardly. So the reason I say this is because Saturns in Jupiter's sign, a sign that presents some overarching sense of coherence. That's a kind of truth.
The Square with Jupiter in Gemini, remember, Saturn is in Jupiter's sign, and the square to its host in rational, mental, Mercurial sign of Gemini, could be that what we're running into is a tendency, which does happen in the sign of Pisces, to see through rose-colored glasses, or to live with a certain amount of distortion or illusion or romanticism that isn't helping but is harming, because it can obviously help at times too. And we don't want to just, you know, we're not here to just say that there's nothing real about the sign of Pisces. It's not quite that, right?
But where there is an inability to see the truth because of a lack of clear thinking, we might be moving towards something a little bit more intelligent and a little bit like a better-informed understanding of something because an inability to see something or an inability to see the truth about something, is now being exposed and addressed. That's one thing I would watch for. This could already have been building, by the way, over the past weeks and might be coming in more clearly now, or we might be ready to address it.
Number two is to pull something apart in order to understand it better. So when we see Saturn in Pisces, and we get this feeling of, okay, there's this beautiful sort of sense that I have about life and reality, which is common to Pisces. It's a it's a sign of great inspiration. And a lot of Pisceans are in love with the world, are in love with reality, or are in love with the things that they love, like if you, if you love music, and you're a Pisces, there'll be this way in which you can just get totally swept up in it.
So when Saturn is in that sign, it can be a little bit of a joy kill for the romantic in us. It's as though some romantic part of us, some sentimental, fantasy-loving part of us, is having to grow up a little bit, and when it squares, when Saturn now squares, Jupiter, its host, from the sign of Pisces in Gemini.
Now, we might see that we're having to do that mercurial analytical process of questioning, bringing in a healthy skepticism, pulling something apart, and deconstructing in order to understand something better and to understand it better, in this sense, might be to understand it with more of a rational understanding of how the thing is working, as opposed to being swept up in something because it feels good to us, which is not at all a bad reason to believe something or to have an operating program or system in our life, because it feels good, right?
That's a hugely important part of how we decide how our lives should be. Or, you know, our lives are orchestrated according to how things make us feel. That's really an important consideration. But this might be something that comes in and says, let's pull it apart a little bit and look at it a little bit more objectively.
Number three is becoming more objective about something in order to grow smarter or wiser. So these are sort of dovetailing off from one another. But the point is that at times, we need some kind of healthy, rational, skeptical distance from the things that we're most enmeshed in, structurally or systematically or philosophically or paradigmatically so that we can really deeply reflect on things and shift where we need to shift. So that is becoming more objective about something in order to grow a little bit smarter and wiser.
Number four would be seeing both sides of something and going forward with a more complete understanding. One of the things that can happen is Saturn and Pisces can reflect a kind of emotional rigidity. I'm so emotionally attached and wrapped up in something. I'm so closely identified with something, and so I have so much of myself and my emotions wrapped up in it that I can't understand who, whoever might be on the other side, or whatever might exist as a kind of opposite, that there's some fundamental inability to see the other side of the story, or to.
Or walk a mile in someone else's shoes, so to speak, that some inability to move out of an emotionally fixed position because of how deeply and emotionally we are identified with, it might be deconstructed by virtue of the Jupiter Saturn square because Jupiter and Gemini can pull us into this sort of moving meditation on opposites and on things that exist in con in a sort of contrary manner or fashion to our own beliefs or our own position.
So I like this as something that can help us revise or just shift, make subtle shifts psychologically or even into bigger structures in our lives, belief structures, or work structures because we're starting to get a more complete picture of something, and in order to do that, there may be a bit of detachment that is required.
On the other hand, I felt like this was the one I wanted to end with because everything so far has been sort of favoring the analytical part, you know, and we've been, I feel like we've been a little hard on Saturn in Pisces, on the other hand, when there's a, you know, a watery Saturn and an airy Jupiter squaring one another, we're also saying, hey, there's room here for the cultivation of emotional intelligence. So, in other words, we could measure the growth of this moment, or how successful we are with the growth of this moment, based on one simple thing: are we growing in our ability to understand something rationally and objectively while also maturing emotionally?
So, we want to see a parallel development of emotional and rational intelligence, becoming more rationally intelligent at the cost of emotional sensitivity, empathy, compassion, subtlety, and nuance; I don't think that would work right now. I mean, some people might need more of the rational and so forth.
But it's also appropriate to say that Saturn and Pisces might be pulling us back on the like, oh, you know, sort of Jupiter and Gemini, sort of like slamming a bunch of coffee and be just being taken on a ride by lots of new ideas and by analyzing things and Saturn and Pisces might be pulling in the opposite direction, saying what you're doing with whatever this stimulating, uh, information is that's coming through from Jupiter and Gemini, you have to make sure that it's emotionally, that it that it's wise, and that it's sensitive and thoughtful, and that what you're doing with whatever this rush of information represents is, is sort of taking into consideration greater emotional and heart-centered truths, that it's again compassionate, empathetic, sensitive, subtle, nuanced, if it's not, if it's only helping you grow, in the sense of like just providing you with new information. That's probably not enough. It's information alongside of emotional maturity.
So a great moment here for us to grow wiser, clearer about what is true and what isn't true, clearer in our ability to pull things apart and understand things more holistically, to become more objective, but also maybe lacking no emotional intelligence at the same time to see both sides of something as a way of not being so fixed in an emotional identification with our own interest or our own position, and also emotional intelligence growing alongside of rational development. Okay, that's what I've got for today.
Thank you guys for listening. I hope this helps, and we're going to keep working these themes throughout the week, because we have Mars and Jupiter getting together, and we also have a whole bunch of aspects coming through around the full moon at the end of the week. So we've got a lot to do this week.
I'm really looking forward to it. If you haven't already subscribed, help us get to 70,000 subscribers. That's our big goal.
