Over the next month, Jupiter will finally oppose Uranus for the last time. Meanwhile, this weekend Mercury and Mars will conjoin at the degree of the recent solar eclipse, activating and reinvigorating the eclipse themes and energies.
Here’s what to watch for:
* Jupiter opposite Uranus brings a bold new vision. Jupiter and Uranus stimulate growth, faith, progress, invention, and breakthrough, but because they are opposed they will tend to bring these qualities through tension, hostility, necessity, and intense circumstances that force changes and breakthroughs.
* Jupiter opposite Uranus is a sign of the times. It is not causing anything to happen, but rather it is a reflection of what is happening. When we recognize that we are not our reflection, there is freedom. The real freedom of a Jupiter/Uranus dynamic isn’t only about what changes happen in the world. We can already see them. We already know them. We know there will be more because the planets keep cycling in the same recognizable patterns. Our participation is inevitable and necessary, and yet, when we look into the stars, even during times of tremendous revolution, we are seeing reflections.
* Times of powerful and “positive” change are easier to lose ourselves in than times of darkness. In times of darkness, the distance between ourselves and the pain and suffering is actively sought. When we are in pain, afraid, or suffering, we easily recall eternity. We pray and we call out for help, and we say, “this too shall pass.” But in times of exciting growth, and change, in times of dynamic tension, or when we are fighting evil or promoting the good, we believe these to be the “real” times. It takes a special kind of imagination to see the past, the present, and the future, all at once, to remember the passing nature of things when we believe our cause or our present moment to be weightier than all the rest.
* Jupiter and Uranus can indicate spiritual change, a spiritual revolution, just as much as any material or worldly, cultural, or political revolutions. What does spiritual revolution look like? How does it appear? What choices do we have to make in order to experience spiritual revolution?
Meanwhile, Mars and Mercury will conjoin this weekend on the eclipse degree, likely bringing important statements, orders, executive commands, declarations of war, announcements, firings, bold messages, conflicts with authority, and more. We will visit this first very powerful activation of the eclipse as the week continues.
Prayer: Show us the real meaning of freedom, as we reflect on the passing shadows of revolution.
