Here’s a list of what to watch for:
* Venus is in a Mars ruled sign…traditionally this was considered challenging for Venus signified things: friendship, relationships, bringing things together, harmony, beauty, accord, love, romance, deals or negotiations, etc. The fact that Venus’ ruler Mars is stationing may point to a kind of intensification of our differences with others. We may find that someone’s flaws are aggravating us more than usual, or we may find that our tempers are flaring up more quickly or that we are agitated to anger more easily. We may also find that underlying differences in romantic or sexual relationships are especially tense or challenging. There might be a certain selfishness in the air, creating a kind of competition of needs or a me first and you later kind of attitude. At the same time we may find that our beliefs or core convictions are simply different from people we are close with, and we may find ourselves speaking out more courageously. On the other hand, if we are the kind of person that is constantly speaking out about beliefs and convictions, we may find that we are learning how to stay quiet, learning to accept, or potentially even burying our most passionate feelings somewhere deep down inside for the sake of peace or harmony with someone or something else. Regardless, the simplest truth is that relationships of all kinds might be featuring more contentiousness right now, and that’s likely to continue as Venus continues to move through a Mars ruled sign whilst Mars is dead stopped and will take a long time to speed up via retrograde. A headline might read: expect some showdowns!
* Meanwhile Mercury is slowly moving toward his own station and retrograde by the end of the month. Just as he turns retrograde, however, Venus will enter Taurus. This is significant since Mercury will be retrograde in Taurus and therefore supported by an empowered Venus. I expect this period to involve substantive changes in our communication patterns within relationships, reconsidering a position or point of view for the sake of greater peace or harmony, changing the structure or organization of something in order to present a new aesthetic or new set of values or ideas. A change in rhetoric, message, or meaning. A change in the tone of voice or the content of our communications. Things being thrown up into the air, debated, or deconstructed, but the underlying need for peace, stability, and order guiding the overall process smoothly.
Remember that during the middle of Mercury’s retrograde, Jupiter will turn direct from Mercury’s home sign of Virgo just as he receives a superior trine from Venus. Mercury will then come to within a degree of a trine to Jupiter in Virgo just as Mercury turns direct in Taurus. The overall tone or feeling of this retrograde (in my opinion) points toward the idea of building or designing or implementing something for the sake of a more productive or fruitful future. When we get this much emphasis on earth signs within the midst of both Mars/Saturn retrograde in a fire sign, it’s my opinion that we’re likely to see important, pressing, even extreme situations or ideas influencing us to create substantive structural and relational, or even intellectual or philosophical changes for the sake of greater ease, stability, or harmony.
Prayer: Help us to stay patient, peaceful, and loving, releasing any grudges we might be holding against one another and remembering to remain considerate of each other despite our differences.
