Hey everyone, this is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology. Today, we are going to start talking about Mars's upcoming conjunction with Jupiter in the sign of Gemini. We're starting today because the two planets are moving into the engagement range; Mars is now within three degrees of a conjunction with Jupiter. So you're gonna start noticing the effects and the symbolic expressions of these two planets coming together; we'll lay out the timeline. And then, we're going to talk about five archetypal themes to watch for within this timeline. So that is our agenda for today.
Before we get into it, as always, don't forget to like and subscribe. We are trying to reach 70,000 subscribers by this autumn, and the Fall Equinox is the goal. We are getting pretty close. But if you watch regularly but have not yet subscribed, we would really appreciate it if you could click the subscribe button so that we can grow our community and business. It is much appreciated by everyone who has been pitching in with our efforts. And we've had a big bump in subscribers. So we really do appreciate it.
If you want, you can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website nightlightastrology.com. I want to take you over there next week. I will be launching a new product and selling an initial early bird sale for the launch of that product, which is going to be a recorded course for total newbies to astrology.
So I've created, and my staff has helped me with some of the curriculum development, a program for absolute beginners to astrology, in the hopes that this would act as a little stepping stone for people who might be thinking about getting more invested in astrology, maybe taking our training programs. So this is a recorded course that is for total beginners to astrology. And we will be launching that product next week.
So that's one thing to keep in mind. I'll be telling you more about it next week when the sale begins and kind of taking over the course and showing you where you can pick it up and all that good stuff. In the meantime, on the events page of the website, click Live Talks; you'll see my talk for August; the webinar is on August 22. Seven to 9pm Eastern Time, the title of the talk is The Eighth House, The Place of Karmic Debts; we're going to talk about what this house is all about and why people tend to get really freaked out by this house even though we shouldn't. And it will; I wouldn't say we shouldn't. I would just say once we understand it, there's far less to be afraid of. There are some difficult things about the eighth house. Hopefully, this talk will clarify what they are and are not.
So, in September, I'm doing a talk on Venus through the 12 signs, giving you a feel for the story of love and relationships that Venus tells by her placement in our birth charts. And then, in October, I'm doing a talk called The Myth of Astrological Compatibility, which discusses what everybody gets wrong about the astrology of relationships. So check those out coming up soon. When you register, you will get a live link to attend the webinar. If you cannot attend live, you get the recording afterward.
All right, on that note, let's turn our attention to the real-time clock, where we are going to have a look at the application of Mars and Jupiter. Here we go. Here are the two planets. And as of today, Thursday, August 8, they are within about three degrees of one another perfectly.
So, let's watch as this progresses. We're going to see that tomorrow; they're coming to within about two degrees, two degrees on Saturday, and they kind of hover there a little bit or a little less than two degrees. And then, on Monday of next week, they're within a degree. Then, on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, they move into conjunction. And if we give it about three degrees of separation, we get them pulling apart by about the 19th or 20th of the month. And so starting now, until about the 20th, we have around two weeks of these two planets being in close proximity.
The image that I recommend that you think about in your mind's eye when two planets are coming into that engagement range is that the combination of the archetypal combination of the planets and wherever they land in your birth chart is a big deal, right? You need to take a look at that whole sign house of Gemini, for example, with these two, but you think about those two planets and their symbolism, like a tree that is suddenly going to bear fruit, and the fruit is going to be ripe and ready to fall off or be plucked or whatever.
So it's a karmic harvesting moment. And the kind of karmic harvest is depicted by the combination of planets in the sign and of course their location and your birth chart aspects they might be making the planets in your birth chart that we talked about it just on the mundane level. What does a Jupiter Mars in Gemini karmic blossom look like? We tried to give you some sense of what to expect.
So that's what we're going to do today with my little list of five things to watch for Mars and Jupiter. I feel like five is a sweet spot, as I can always find five distinctly unique things to talk about. I have found that if I go beyond five and I try to get to another even number like 10, I'm pulling some rabbits out of my ass so. So I'm like, let's stick with five. But anyhow, here are five things to watch for.
Number one with Mars and Jupiter in Gemini is unsolicited advice, unsolicited ideas, opinions, or judgments. Now, let's just put it this way I use unsolicited as a qualifier for the rest of the words here, but it could also just be like shitty advice. It could be overbearing advice, or it could be loud advice, ideas, opinions, or judgments because Jupiter and Mars tend to represent a very boisterous, loud communication style in Mercury's airy sign of Gemini.
One of the shadows of this combination is the way that it will show up as big, and sometimes overly big or exaggerated, assertive, aggressive, mental, intellectual, verbal, or communicative styles or expressions. So you might have someone just in case you might have someone in your life who's directing unsolicited advice, ideas, opinions, or judgments at you. Or you may find that you're the one doing it, in which case, chill yourself. Chill out. What are Jupiter and Mars? I have Mars in Gemini, so God knows I can go off sometimes on my little soapbox, and once I'm on a roll, it's like, I don't know, it's like a runner's high or something. But you get into verbal streams in Gemini. And there's something stimulating about, you know, speech and words and ideas and thoughts that can also, I just want to make sure that I'm not painting this as too black and white. The same exact quality can be about this, like just this big, fast, exciting thrill of ideas, speech, and communication. So it's not all bad.
But one thing to watch for because Mars is a malefic, after all, who represents, among other things, aggression and violence. And then you kind of amplify that with Jupiter, and you get someone riding on a high horse with their ideas and opinions and verbalizing them or expressing them in ways that are harsh, or bullying or, domineering, or that are sort of rational and executive and sort of assertive, to the point where it feels a little harsh, or it feels it's cutting, but very Mars word cutting.
So I also have to say that of all of the signs, there is maybe no sign more clearly associated with the love of opinions and ideas and speech and sharing and conversing. Like, I always like the image for Gemini of like a bustling coffee shop, you know, lots of good ideas sort of stuff. caffyns and your systems, let's talk.
So there's something about that that could be extra thrilling and exciting and generate actions and movement through mind speech, ideas, and intellect. But the combination of Mars and Jupiter also tends to be like there's a machismo in the combination and an aggressiveness that can result in people being overbearing when it comes to ideas and opinions.
One of my favorite sayings that I learned from Al-Anon is the 12-step program for people who have had alcoholism in their family background. Is that your opinion about me? It is none of my business. And, you know, maybe there are certain settings in life where that's not appropriate when you really do need the feedback of people you love, right? I mean, it's not like it's a one-size-fits-all solution or idea or whatever. But there are, there may be no better transit to repeat that mantra under than your unsolicited advice, ideas, opinions, and judgments about me my life, my life, my dreams, my passions, my goals, my interests, the way I'm doing something. It's just none of my business. You're welcome to have that opinion, but it's not my business.
So you might have to call upon that mantra. But on the other hand, don't be surprised if you find yourself totally captivated by new ideas, learning something new, understanding something in a new way, having a different perception, and being mobilized or pushed into strong, swift action and excitement. As a result, that would also be a great way of looking at this.
Number two is executive thinking, judging, and revisions, which require bold or fast actions. I say this because don't forget that this Mars-Jupiter conjunction is hosted by a retrograde Mercury. The retrogradation of Mercury as the host of this meeting suggests there might be strong analysis, a kind of cutting analytical executive judging quality of mind that prompts or is part of some kind of revision, or analysis or breakdown of all things that Mercury Retrograde is associated with. You may also notice that you're reaching a point where revision, remaking, or reorganizing has gained some serious momentum.
So the retrograde process begins a journey of reworking something, revising something, editing something, critiquing something, and recreating it; then you may find that right now, within that process, you're hitting a moment of rapid movement and momentum, which can be really helpful.
Also, don't be surprised if big ideas, along with strong, decisive, bold actions, all come up really quickly. Remember, Mercury is retrograde. So, is this the time to be gathering resources and developing a plan and a strategy? Or is it the time to be implementing one? I think we'll know if we look at the quality of what we're doing in our consciousness and sort of take a moment to check in and say, Should I slow down a little bit and move forward with this with a little bit more care and tact and sensitivity? Or is something required of me right now?
I think the difference is, for me anyway, I would say that. If someone suggests maybe there's a way of slowing the roll or whatever, it makes me angry. That's usually a pretty good sign that I should slow down. I don't know, maybe you have your own way of testing, whether it's a time of gathering that momentum and sort of storing it up for future use or if it's something to act on right away. There may be some discerning needed there, but each person will be a little bit different.
My self-worth is related to my mind and my speech, and Air signs, like any planetary placement and an air sign with respect to the psychological components or characteristics of the planet in the sign, may represent parts of ourselves that we derive value from in relation to the quality of our mind or our intelligence or our ideas or whether or not we feel that people value us or see us for the quality of our mind speech with, etc.
So, like Venus, you know, Venus in Gemini in love, I want there to be a value and an exchange of value with respect to mind and ideas. It's very Venus in Gemini thing. I want to fall in love with someone in part through intelligence and wit and playful, flirtatious banter. It is very important for Venus and Gemini, for the most part, to be with someone that they find stimulating on the level of the mind.
Every Venus placement, as we'll see in this webinar I'm doing this fall, has something that they really that Venus has something that she values and every sign that she's attracted to and exudes. And there are stories around all of that. I think, with respect to Mars-Jupiter, one of the things that Mars-Jupiter might present how you want to be seen or validated or loved or respected when it comes to the Mars-Jupiter combination is through the strength of your intellect, the power or mastery of ideas, skills, and abilities that have been learned like a craft that's very mercurial how fast and witty and interesting we are. There's also something to be said here for trying too hard. And I reflect on this as a native Mars in Gemini.
When I began my blogging career, I really felt like I had to make everything that I said as interesting and original as possible. And that places the pressure on the writing that often generated what felt to me like authenticity and would probably look at times like trying to heart, you know, and I still can feel that pressure sometimes. And I see that as inherently one of the shadows of Mars in Gemini. Oh, many Mars in Gemini people will derive a sense of, you know, personal strength from how witty and articulate or interesting your speech, mind, or ideas are.
There's nothing wrong with that we all have different. We all have different styles and we all have different ways that we want to see ourselves in the archetypal mirror. I think it's really for most of us; it's about understanding what we want or need or how we desire to be seen while also recognizing the inherent ways in which that may push us to do too much or to overcompensate and so forth and just kind of working that tension.
But Mars-Gemini, for sure, can be related to the desire to be seen as strong or powerful or worthy or awesome or excellent or victorious or macho or strong. In relation to the quality of your learning, your education, your intellect, how witty or clever you are, how original you can be with a, you know, a clever turn of phrase on your Instagram or Twitter account or whatever. Alright, so think about that.
You may also find that you're just on a heater. You you if you're a blogger or writer, you're you have any kind of place in which you speak with other people you may find that you're really feeling like you're in your zone by Mars Jupiter is kind of connected to like excellence in athletics like an athlete being in the zone.
Number four is, let's be a little bit basic here. Mars is a malefic, and Jupiter is a benefic. Mars runs into Jupiter, and we have the potential for problems, but running into Jupiter, the slow-moving benefic in mercury Simon Mercury is retrograde could mean that we run into problems, and yet there are very inventive solutions so that Jupiter acts as a kind of silver lining along comes Mars in mercury sign of Gemini hits Jupiter. And we have this meeting of a problem or a complicated situation and some way of dealing with it that is inventive. And that brings some restoration of wholeness or unity.
Next, Mars wants to cut and sever things. So when it comes into contact with Jupiter, it's like it wants to cut up or dismantle a system of some kind. On the other hand, Jupiter restores unity and wholeness.
And so when the two come together and Mercury's retrograde ruling both of them going through a process, there might be some dismantling and re-ordering of something. But the nice thing is that the meeting of the two should not just simply favor Mars destroying something; it should be about a problem that comes up and some kind of innovative solution because Mercury's retrograde in Gemini itself as a sign are often very inventive and really amazing how good Gemini is at solving complex problems, like riddles, for example puzzles, Geminis are great at working through complicated things like a Rubik's Cube.
In fact, I believe Jupiter was in Gemini when the Rubik's cube was invented. I saw someone post that the other day rapid development and success. Last one on the list. Let's talk about the most optimistic possibility here, which is that when you have Mars and Jupiter get together, you just have the symbol of victory and of speed and expansion. Mars's speed, Jupiter's expansion, rapid speed, development, and success. We have Mercury retrograde suggesting a process that's unfolding, such as a revision or shifting of philosophy, strategy approach, organizational, technological, etc. Revision or changing of ideas and structures of thoughts and perceptions.
All Mercury Retrograde stuff, you hit this moment of rapid development and success; hey, Mars, Jupiter is associated with victory and war. So why not see a period where we overcome rapidly and are able to achieve something or succeed at something? There's an inherent within that as the idea of something that is challenging or requires perseverance and effort, but we hit a period of rapid development and success where we are achieving and, you know, hitting our goals and so forth. So that would be a very beneficial expression of the transit. Those are my five things to watch for in no particular order. But I would add that we are also going to be adding to this the fact that we have quite a lineup of planets all crossing in mutable signs.
Venus in Virgo coming into an opposition with Saturn, Jupiter and Mars, both hitting the square to Saturn, and so on that is going to add layers to this. So today we've sort of isolated Mars and Jupiter, but we will be adding in their squares to Saturn in Pisces, which is of great significance, especially considering the gravity, the gravity of the Jupiter Saturn squares, historically speaking, and in our personal lives as well.
So that is it for today. Hope you're having a good one. Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't yet trying to see if we can get to 70,000 subscribers by the autumn equinox. We'll do the best we can. Also, remember, the eighth house talk is coming up on the 22nd of this month; be sure to sign up for that.
Stay tuned because we'll have a new product launch next week. An astrology course for absolute total newbies that are pre-recorded and will give people a chance to have a little stepping stone into possibly taking our training programs. And this will also be good if you just had people in your life who don't know anything about astrology who want just like a very, very basic beginning introduction to astrology. Anyway, there will be more next week. We'll see you again soon. Bye.
