Hey everyone, this is Acyuta-bhava from Nightlight Astrology and today I'm going to take a look at Mars's upcoming square to Saturn, it is making the square through its retrogradation and will then get into a square with Pluto and then Jupiter, a big group of transits happening in the next couple of weeks. So we're going to take a look at that first. And I'm going to put it up on the real time clock to give you a picture of it. So here we go.
0:27
What you're going to notice first is that Mars is at about 25 degrees of Aries, moving into a square with Saturn. Saturn, who is stationing and turning direct, by the way after a long retrograde period, so that is happening right now.
0:44
And right after Mars gets into the square with Saturn, then it goes to Pluto, then it goes to Jupiter. So this is the moment you've been waiting for in terms of the Mars retrograde and its big dynamic action. But there's something else sneaking in which we're also going to talk about which is that right before Mars can hit that square to stationing turning direct Saturn, Venus makes a trine and that is kind of a little silver lining here that we're going to talk about as well. Okay, so why is that important? Well, over this little span of time as Mars squares Saturn, you always have to pay attention to the Moon, what is the Moon doing because the Moon will kind of help paint the picture and show you what's being emphasised. Well, the Moon is going to be in Jupiter sign with a sextile to Jupiter and also in the exaltation of Venus. And so it there's a real nice pretty benefic quality to the Moon in the next couple of days, as Mars is squaring Saturn and Venus is getting in a trine to Mars. So even though one could you know, look at that Mars square to Saturn through its retrograde and get a little freaked out by it. Because it can be a very intense transit.
2:06
I think that the next couple of days, there's going to be a theme that comes about which provides a silver lining in the midst of the difficulties of the Saturn Mars square. And that's what I'm going to talk about today. So just wanted to give you a little visual of it first, and then give you the actual timing. So between now and this evening, what you're going to notice is you know by, by tonight you're going to see that Venus in Leo makes the trine to Mars in Aries. Right after that tomorrow and into Wednesday, Mars will then square Saturn in Capricorn.
2:46
So Venus kind of gets in just before that square. And that's really important because it signifies a very genetic influence coming in and touching Mars right before Mars touches Saturn. And that should have a big bearing on this. And you're also going to notice that if I go forward, as this is all happening again, over the next couple of days, the Moon is still going to be in Pisces with mostly harmonious aspects to all of the stellium in Capricorn while also emphasising Venusian elements or flavours by virtue of being in Venus's exaltation. So this is not this is there is some good here to hold on to. And that's what I wanted to highlight first. All right, now let's go let's get into it and talk about what to expect.
3:39
Well, first of all, you know, when Mars is retrograde, and hitting the square to Saturn, what we're talking about are oftentimes theme of frustration and limitations, where your will or your willpower or your desire to will something into action to make something happen is being met with a limitation or a constraint, or a temporary block, or some kind of prohibition. And there's going to be this challenge, you could say to move around it. So one of the great themes of Mars, Saturn is going to be resilience or perseverance. And right now there's this call to be to persevere or to be resilient in terms of a great effort or a great struggle, especially when you're running up against feelings of futility exhaustion, there's some kind of block or a feeling of limitation or constraint. It is also a very good time. Mars square Saturn through Mars is retrograde for the storing up of resources. If you're into the I Ching, for example, you think of hexagram number 26, which has to do with this idea of sort of concentrated power building up or storing of something like resources that will be used for future action, or taking some kind of great action by drawing upon wisdom from the past. Saturn is old and aged and wise and so also drawing on strategical options or making plans based on time tested wisdom comes to mind right now, you're looking at the themes of effort and will meeting resistance, frustration, exhaustion and limitations. Again, the storing up of resources and the need to make a concerted effort under pressure, as well as the feeling of just not being able to move forward and having to live with that for a while. Confinement, and also a question about how to find ease or peace within confinement. For example, you know, I think about, you know, one of these athletes that has some kind of devastating, you know, knee injury or whatever, and, or, or something else, and they have to very patiently, sometimes all the way until the next season, you know, work their way back from some kind of injury, and it's time mistaking it's painstaking, and it's, you know, it's a test of will to have to work your way back from some kind of loss or defeat. And that could be a part of this transit as well. But how do you do that, while having peace, finding ease within some kind of comeback effort, or if you're feeling like your back is against the wall, but you still have to be at peace or at ease? It's kind of like another thing that comes to my mind. And these are all sports analogies, because I guess maybe it's because of Mars, I don't know. I'm, I'm thinking, for example of like, you know, a sport like golf would be one that comes to mind. Not that I'm a golfer, really, but where, you know, let's say that you are behind a stroke or something like that. And you have to come back in a tournament, the pressure is on but there's, it's a sport where like, you need to be really relaxed in order to perform. I'm trying to think of something else, I guess, for example, like, if you have a writing deadline, but the writing deadline is for a piece of poetry, or I don't know something that's creative, you still need to have a relaxed, ease full kind of flow. And so how to perform at a high level, how to do your best within confines, constraints, time, time limitations, or something like that.
7:34
The other thing that comes to mind is, well, for example, I had a talk that I did at an astrology conference this past weekend, it was an online virtual conference. And I had 50 minutes to give my talk, which is usually like a 90 minute talk. And I, what I found myself having to do was cram it into 50, but also make it feel spacious. within that time constraint, very Mars, Saturn, you know, heroic feats. If you think about the heroes, they're the ones who are always bloodied and mangled, and looking almost dead at the end of the movie, but they managed to pull it off and you know, beat the bad guy or whatever, this kind of this thing of struggling through something persisting, not giving up, buckling down.
8:22
Remember that in this relationship, right now, Saturn is in the superior position over Mars has that superior square, which means that Mars is and by the fact that Mars is also retrograde. You know, Mars is looking at what it can and can't do or control right now. And what the limits are, like how, how smart is it to get really frustrated, and, you know, become really reactionary, when we're dealing with things we can't control anyway. So, um, that would be something to keep in mind right now, as well as the general exploration of control and power. When people are trying to strong arm you into doing something or there's a temptation or to get something done to bend the rules or to strong arm others, to not play fairly, to say, look, it's my way or the highway. Be careful of those temptations right now, even in the small things.
9:16
Also, remember that there is a there there are rewards right now for sticking to something sticking with something, especially problems. We have a way of wanting problems to be over really quickly and then we get really angry when they aren't. And there's there is a treasure waiting for us right now in our ability to explore and sit with and be with a problem that isn't going away easily or right away or it's going to take a while to remove obstacles, you know and things like that.
9:53
I say this also because remember that right after Mars gets through the square to Saturn, Mars is going to go into a square with Pluto, who is Hades, the ruler of the underworld, the subterranean place of riches and depth and power and intensity that is very organic and regenerative Mars is going to get a really big reboot. And the feeling of being temporarily held back from the forward movement we want is part of a lesson that we're learning right now, you could say, or that one could learn if one was open to, to it right now. And that will play out all the way through the end of the year. It's a long sequence here. So we have to be, you know, those, you know, it's a funny thing, but it's like those who are able to endure suffering for a long time, are often able to enjoy things for a long time, a lot longer, as well. So endurance is kind of endurance is a quality that I think can serve us in a lot of different ways. Endurance isn't something we need just in order to, you know, make it through the tough times. But it's also a quality that when we develop is there for us in the good times, and then we can, we can enjoy and really taste the fruit of something for a long time and not rush our ability to savour things either. And that character that metal, we build during a Mars-Saturn square, a long one, especially with Mars retrograde, which can represent a kind of frustrated Mars is it really will serve us in the end.
11:31
I wanted to actually read you a verse. So I'm going to read you something now. Okay, so these are two verses that are very dear to me. I won't go into the personal story as to why they are dear to me. But these are verses that my guru shared with me that are like they're they're very close to my heart. And they are, in my opinion very perfectly. They fit very nicely with this Mars-Saturn energy. And I heard these verses. I mean, I'd read them many times before, but they were pointed out to me or sort of singled out to me during a time where I was really stressing out in a situation very similar astrologically to you know, the Mars-Saturn energy that we have right now. So this is from the Srimad Bhagavatam, the Bhagavata Purana, this is a Bhakti text, and this is from the 10th canto 14th chapter and the eighth verse, and this is Lord Brahma offering prayers to, to God to Krishna. So he says, "My dear Lord, one who earnestly waits for you to bestow Your causeless mercy upon them, all the while patiently suffering the reactions of their past misdeeds, and offering you respectful obeisances within their heart, words and body is surely eligible for liberation, liberation for it as become their rightful claim."
12:54
I really love that because it's so applicable to what we're dealing with right now. I mean, whether you're into yoga or not just the advice that says, if we, if we sort of, have a way of looking at our struggles, as something not, struggles are real, and we're going to feel them, but we get to choose, whether we see them as our teachers and as something that is coming to us, for us from the divine from the universe, from God, or if we're going to see it as something that we have to get rid of as quickly as possible. And what Lord Brahma says in this prayer is that look, one who sits and patiently goes through the difficulties of life, and continues to offer gratitude and love and respect to the divine intelligence, the divine being that is in all things. For that person, you know, they become eligible to be free from this suffering that we experience in this world. And that in right now that is such a good point, because, you know, again, what is Mars-Saturn point two as an omen is Mars-Saturn causing our problems? No, but it's pointing to a particular unfolding in the karmic Wheel of Time that we're experiencing right now many of us, which is that feeling of being constrained, confined, limited, frustrated, having to persevere work through something. It feels like there are forces that are operating sometimes with a kind of ruthless power drive, we're tempted maybe to act that way, or respond that way, as well. And the instruction here is that we should be very patient, very respectful, and very, and stay in a spirit of gratitude because when we do this, through the problems, we become eligible to experience liberation from the problems.
14:57
Now, the other verse that I love so much that my guru pointed me to comes from the fourth fourth Canto, the Srimad Bhagavatam, the 19th chapter, and the 34th verse. This is about a king who's making this big, great sacrifice trying to make this big, heroic effort, right? And he's thinking that this big thing that he's going to do is going to kind of put the world right and put at least put his own world right. And he's taking a lot of pride in doing this big, sacrificial offering.
15:37
He gets this piece of advice, "My dear King, do not be agitated and anxious because your sacrifices have not been properly executed due to providential impediments. Basically, the ceremony doesn't go as he planned, and this big effort that he was trying to make his stall that doesn't really work. Kindly take my words, with great respect, we should always remember that if something happens by providential arrangement, we should not be very sorry, the more we try to rectify such reversals, the more we enter into the darkest region of materialistic thought."
16:11
Simple message, you know, when things happen, that when things aren't working out, or we reach, there's an impediment or a block or a cosmic red light, so to speak, when it comes to our personal plans and goals. We shouldn't struggle and try to, we'll enforce it to work if it's not there, if it's not happening, and I think we can discern the difference when you get a cosmic red light, and you're saying no, no, no. And you you're fighting, and it's, like, better to let it go, you know. And then maybe sometimes there are situations where you need a great heroic determined effort, you have to stick with something. And it could be both right now. But if you're in a situation where you've tried to do something really great and heroic, but it's not working as you planned, or it's, it's falling apart or you're getting that pushback. Remember that we should always try to remember that if something happens by providential arrangement, we should not be very sorry. The more we try to rectify such reversals, the more we enter into the darkest region of materialistic thought, we become people who are raging because it didn't go our way. And I think you know, the simple advice right now is to be careful that you're not falling into that.
17:28
Now, last thing I will say is this Venus gets in on the situation and that is very, very helpful. Venus is making this tight little trine to Mars tonight. And that will happen right before the next two days of Mars hitting the squares to Saturn. So, there might be some great work some great limitation, but Venus trine Mars should bring some kind of beneficial help, or silver lining, or an element of harmonisation, that helps you to get through the more confining or constraining or frustrating energy of the rest of this week. So and remember the next couple of days as this kind of frustrating square between Mars and Saturn is closing in.
18:15
The Moon is also in the sign of Jupiter, and that the exaltation of Venus, so the Moon is in a place that should make something grow. Maybe not in the direction you anticipate maybe with some frustration or limitations or the need for some great act of perseverance or even surrender if things are becoming futile. But there is a silver lining here Venus as a bringer of good fortune meeting in a trine to Mars should bring some degree of harmonisation, good fortune, pleasantness and agree ability which you could notice in a myriad number of different ways of course but watch for that influence to come in tonight or tomorrow and soother ease the tough passage of the next few days along with the Moon in a good sign.
