Hey everyone, this is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology. Happy Friday, everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at Mercury and Venus entering the sign of Cancer over the weekend, where they will come join us by Monday. So because this is happening on Monday, you always have the choice as a content creator. Can I cover it on Friday? Can I cover it on Monday?
I decided we would go with today because I think that the application of these two planets moving into conjunction will be felt over the weekend. And sort of it will be peaking Monday, as opposed to, you know if I did it Monday, I think we'd be hitting it after the fact. So I was like, you know, let's just do it Friday.
Anyway, I hope that it's useful and that you're able to get some good insight to help you notice and work with or engage positively with this planetary combination, which is very sweet. Going into the signs of Cancer, there are a lot of positives to talk about. There are always some things to be aware of.
But anyway, I think this is a pretty good one for us to consider over the weekend. It also marks a shift, which we were talking about yesterday, from air to water, which is happening broadly speaking as all these planets in Gemini start moving into Cancer. So anyway, that's our goal for today.
Before we get into it, don't forget to like, subscribe, and share your comments and reflections; we'd love to hear from you. You can find a transcript of any of my daily talks on the website nightlightastrology.com. I'm going to take you over there right now; I know that some of you were at the webinar last night, but if you missed it, the 12th House webinar was last night, and you can get the replay of the talk under the live talks page under the shop page. I thought the 12th House talk went really well. It was a very interesting talk, and there is a lot of potential for healing when we understand our 12th house at a deeper level. So you can pick that up and get the recording not too late.
And then, for courses, remember this weekend: the first-year course in ancient astrology begins on June 16; it's not too late to register; you can also use the need-based tuition option in the registration portion of the page. So check that out. Then the other thing to mention is that the horary program begins on June 22. At the end of today's talk, you'll hear an informational video that I've tagged after the content for the day is done. So you can learn more about the horary program if you would like to. So those are announcements for today's enrollment season, which is coming to a close.
And I'm excited about some new content that we will be working on over the summer. Also, I'm excited to share that we've brought on two new co-hosts who will be breaking down the monthly overviews with me at the end of every month in the same way that Alex helps me with horoscopes. And so I'm really excited for you to meet them. There are some very talented astrologers from the nightlight community. We have some other people who are going to get involved as well as I am right now, really trying to find more ways of empowering talented people through the nightlife platform because I wouldn't be here without people who helped empower me with their platforms earlier in my career.
So I feel like it's a good idea to give back, especially when there are talented people who just need an audience to get in front of and show their work to, so I can't wait to introduce you to some of these people. I will still be always doing my content five days a week, but you will also see some new faces around the podcast helping me delineate things here and there.
So Alright, anyway, on that note, let us take a look at the real-time clock and this Mercury-Venus conjunction coming through in Cancer. All right, so let's scoot this ahead. So here we are on Friday, June 14. And we talked at length about the Venus square to Neptune that is coming through over the weekend. Mercury will also be squaring Neptune over the weekend. Then, the two planets both go into Cancer. They can join on Monday morning, June 17.
So you are feeling the application of Venus and Mercury or the application of Mercury to Venus. And they finally conjoined across the sign boundary in Cancer. They both go through squares to Neptune. I'm going to talk a little bit more about the transition of Mercury today before we get into the combination of Mercury and Venus in Cancer. But they will be then traveling together pretty tightly for most of next week.
So, all of the significations that I'm discussing today you'll be feeling over this weekend and all the way through about June 20. Right about the time of the Summer Solstice if you're in the northern hemisphere. Okay, well, one thing to note is that just like Venus going through the square to Neptune, Mercury is also going through the square to Neptune. Let's track that out just a little bit. Here. You'll see that we're gonna see Venus enter Cancer early Monday morning. And as that's happening, Mercury is exactly square to Neptune.
So Mercury square to Neptune echoes some of the same themes of air transforming into water, the rational social discourse of Gemini, which is often fun, playful, exploratory, open-minded, curious, and experimental, but very airy, very heady. Mercury hits the square to a very watery Neptune in Pisces. Then, exactly moving into Cancer immediately after suggests a shift of the mind from an airy space to a watery space. I see that as one potential expression, which would be an emphasis on emotional forms of intelligence, bodily, instinctual forms of intelligence, or even intuition, if you want to call it that.
That the logical mind is being overwhelmed by the emotional mind, you could say. And that there is a way in which the topic of mental and emotional health is really important right now. This is a mind that could get flooded by emotions and need boundaries and grounding. This is a mind that could also need to let go of rational control in favor of instinctual, emotional, compassionate, and empathetic responses.
So just keep those things in mind because Mercury, like Venus, is transitioning from air to water with that square at the end of Gemini to Neptune in Pisces. But now, let's talk about the meeting of Mercury and Venus. In the sign of Cancer, which is happening Monday again, on the 17th, it lasts until about the 20th or so, giving it a few more days beyond that. And there are five things that I think we can watch for given this combination. One is there will be a very strong need.
Cancer is a sign of the moon, and the moon is a sign of our needs. By needs, I mean bio, physical, emotional, and embodied human needs. I'm not talking about our soul's need for nirvana or something, our souls need to merge with the Godhead or something. I'm talking about the human need to feel safe, warm, comforted, healthy, stable, connected, warm, and nurtured. So when Mercury and Venus get together, one of the things that they can do is articulate needs, desires, and feelings in a harmonious way. Whether that's someone that you typically have difficulty with, suddenly, it's a little easier to communicate with them. Or they find that a little easier to communicate with you that you find that it's easier to understand and respect and sort of meet the needs of people around you.
Or that you find that your needs can be met more harmoniously. This is a great transit for just being able to articulate what you're feeling, what you need, what's on your mind and heart, what you desire, and what feels good. And to find flow and connection with others rooted in that kind of open, fluid communication. So I love that it's a really nice feature of this transit.
Number two is what sounds sweet to us. There's nothing this is something a quote that I remember; when I was in the bhakti yoga tradition, my guru would say there's really nothing sweeter to human beings than the sound of their own voice or the sound, not the sound of their own voice. The sound of their own name. That was Yeah. So, this study was done. And I've shared this before on the channel. And it was basically like they had two different kinds of people who were interviewed by two different kinds of people.
The first interviewer was someone who showed a ton of very genuine emotional interest and investment in the person they were interviewing, asking them lots of questions and showing really deep engagement with the person and learning about them.
The other person asked questions but wasn't as engaged, and then deliberately talked more about themselves. And unanimously, when the people who were involved in the study took the survey, they they said that they preferred the person who was so invested in them. They were they like who's like unanimous that they all like that interviewer better.
That's why the study concluded that people like to feel like they're being seen and that other people are really genuinely interested. There's nothing sweeter than the sound of our name, you know, and then the sound of someone who is interested in us in the way that they speak or hold space or ask us questions or draw out. Mercury-Venus is associated with music and, with this, the sweetness of a person's voice. And I'll tell you, like, is there anything? Is there anything? Is there any is there any aphrodisiac, you know, more powerful than meeting someone and being so intensely aroused by the sound of their voice? I don't know. It's like for that. That's just that's a thing for sure.
I know that when I met my wife, she was a double Taurus. And I just felt so Mercury's in Cancer, and I just felt so comfortable and at home well, not surprisingly, her Ascendant is like, you know, conjoined with my Mercury. The sound of her voice just put me at ease. What I mean is that for her, I think the interesting thing is that I remember she has Mercury in Aries.
I have Mars in Gemini, so it is similar to the Mars-Mercury combination. And there's something: it doesn't necessarily have to be the sweetest sound, but it's like, what regulates your nervous system? You know, it's like, what? What are the sounds like? It's like music, you know; not everyone needs calm music to feel calm. He does, like some people, like getting into a zone with rock music, pop music, jazz, or whatever. So it's not that Mercury.
Venus in Cancer can only sound soft and sweet. I mean, they kind of tend to do that because it's a very watery, lunar type of size, a very sweet placement, right? But in a broader sense, it's about getting in touch with what makes us feel and what regulates our nervous system. What gets us into a flow state? What makes us feel aroused or attracted? What makes us feel connected, in terms of the people and the quality of the sounds that we hear coming from them, and the quality of their voice and the quality of their thoughts? I mean, there are other people. Another way of putting this would be to ask what kind of people you would like to know. It's like, what? Who do you listen to on a podcast? You know, I have my list of podcasts. I'm apparently a part of yours. But I mean, part of the reason that you can have someone in your ear is because there's something about the way they articulate that feels right to you, you know it, it doesn't bother your nervous system.
So, a great part about the Mercury-Venus dynamic in Cancer is that there's this quality of regulating the nervous system with words, thoughts, ideas, and communication that sounds or feels safe, sweet, harmonious, and regulating in some way. Alright, number three, art, music, poetry, and romance infused with emotional charisma. You know, Cancer is one of the natural romantics of the zodiac.
One of the reasons for this is that it's ruled by the moon, and the moon is the natural planet of reflection and nostalgia; the moon is a reflective light in the sky. The romantic is one who tends to reflect upon things and events and turn them around and fantasize, remember, think, replay, project fantasies and images, and dream to daydream. There's something naturally reflective about the way a romantic engages with life, you don't just take things for what they are at face value literally. Concretely, you tend to constantly turn things and reflect upon them, catching light from different angles.
That's all-natural; Rome, like astrology, is very lunar and very romantic insofar as we are always turning the jewel of our experiences and learning to see them in light of the archetypes. There's nothing more romantic than being able to see your life in light of these eternal beautiful patterns in the mind of God or the gods, right? And it makes you feel connected to life on Earth. It makes life on Earth feel like something more, even if it is just what it is. And that's the kind of romantic quality it can be a little sentimental. It can tip into delusion. Before Neptune was around, the moon was a planet of intoxication and delusion. But that's a part of artistic life as well. Right?
So, art, music, poetry, romance, the reflective mood, and lifestyle are just a step up. I'm eager to. I'm probably going to be working on the next chapter of my book. It's been the hardest chapter to come by in my book so far because I'm writing about something that's more of a process for me internally in this new chapter. And I'm anticipating that I'll probably go from a conceptual stage to a flow stage when Mercury and Venus shift signs into Cancer or my natal Mercury is, but one can hope at any rate.
Number four is love and family history. Look, Mercury and Venus coming together can provide you insight or it's like intelligence is here's an intelligence report dropped on your desk from the universe, what's the subject matter, your family history with respect to love, sexuality, relationships, safety, emotional regulation, you know, so you can, it's like getting a little, getting a little insight, an understanding of the connection between love, and emotional health, and the psychological dimensions of relationships and home family love marriage, because we're in the sign of the moon. Anytime Venus is in the sign of the moon, it's amazing how the topic of love and family history will come up.
So, I would watch for insight and communication with respect to how patterns in relationships are related to the past or to, family history, or ancestral karma.
Number five is the way in which Mercury and Venus will seek to regulate the nervous system; I saw something that was really it was so dead on. And it was talking about how men and women, and this is obviously in a kind of, you know, heterosexual sort of stereotypical dynamic, but it was like, How do men and women regulate each other's nervous systems. There were many different ways that it talked about it. But I was like, it's interesting to note that we all have different ways in which we experience our nervous systems in flow and harmony and different things that the people around us do to help us regulate the nervous system.
So one of the things that I thought was, oh my god, this is so true for the way that it is described. Women are like husbands; here's what you can do for your wife. This was a pretty cheesy thing that popped up in, like, I want to say, like my Instagram feed or something like that. So, but it was like, make her the tagline was like, make her feel safe. And I was like, that seems a little trite. I don't know. And then I started thinking about it. And it was like, everything that you can do around your wife to help make her feel safe and relaxed, I think it was safe and relaxed.
So it was like, like, you know, helping get a bunch of things done. Little things that add up to bedtime duties, which are in our house anyway, always a little bit more stressful for my wife than me, are two girls. And they definitely have way more needs for mom at bedtime than me. I mean, I'm there all the time. But it's definitely like mom's the bomb, so. But is there anything I can do around that time to allow my wife to manage the intensity of some of those exchanges? While not feeling like everything else around is chaotic.
That was part of what this video said. And I was like, God, that is so true. Because if I, you know, get the bath ready, make sure the dishes are done, be vulnerable, and do all of these things, that is kind of like I'm like her wingman. And I'm making sure that everything around her feels more stable and peaceful. She is so she is so much more on her game with the intense interaction she has with the kids at bedtime. This is just one example that came to my mind. But my wife's a double Taurus, right?
So Cancer is rising. So, she particularly loves it when I'm doing things to try to create more peace and stability in the environment around her. And then she's really relaxed. And she always gives me the feedback that it means so much to her. And then on the flip side, what I thought was interesting was there were some different things that not all of them I resonated with, but one that really resonated with me was like, and this goes back to that book, you remember that a book that came out some long time ago now is like the five love languages. But it was like, you know, like, praise and touch, like hugs. Like I'm a very physically affectionate person. Like getting some hugs and words of appreciation. But anyway, and whether I'm not saying that there's some kind of hard truth to these things.
I just found it very interesting. The reason I'm mentioning all of this is that I think that one of the things that can happen with Mercury and Venus in Cancer is we can just become more aware of what the people around us and the little things we can do to help them just have like a smoother ride, you know, to help regulate their nervous system if you want to call it that but like how What are the little acts of tenderness and care that we can provide the people around us the everyday environments so that everything just flows a little bit more easily. I find that it's also a little easier with a transit like this to make our needs known as well as to say, hey, here are the little things you could do to help me.
I feel like 99% of what I've learned about marriage and family to date is not about big, overarching ideals and principles as much as it is about tending regularly with devotion to small things. I am trying to set aside my own gripes and needs to care for and tend to the things around me. And if I do that, and I do that with a generous heart, then the, the people around me, my wife, the kids, you know, it was, it responds in kind. I feel like that's the essence of everything I've learned.
That is such a Mercury-Venus conjunction in Cancer, kind of like life observation. And obviously, there are so many other life observations; I'm not here to be some kind of self-help guru, you, do you? But to me, Venus, Mercury in Cancer, what are the little things that I can do to help create a more peaceful environment around me?
Just do those things. Notice that when you do those things with love and care and tenderness in your heart, the environment tends to feed back the people around you care for you as well. If you need to also make your needs known, you can do so in a way that's sweet, honest, intelligent, and, you know, direct, like emotional harmony, which is on the menu with this transit. And so you should also be able to say what you need if you're not getting your needs met; there's an opportunity here to communicate them. All right. Well, I don't know. I kind of feel like I butchered my way. That felt really messy, but I hope that it made some good sense. And, yeah, we'll leave it there for today.
If you stick around after I sign off, you can learn more about the upcoming horary programs that start soon. The first of your class starts this weekend. It's not too late to sign up. Pick up the 12th House talk if you missed it; lots of good stuff coming up. Thank you guys. I hope you guys have a great weekend. Bye.
