Hi everyone, this is Acyuta-bhava from Nightlight Astrology. Happy Monday everybody. Today we're gonna take a look at Mercury perfecting a conjunction with Neptune. So this conjunction has been forming for a while now. And we've had a lot of energy in the sign of Pisces over the past month. And this is kind of the grand finale of piscean transits for this year, until at least later in the year we get to Virgo season, then you get some action with oppositions to Neptune that are pretty intense. But anyway, let's take a look at this on the real time clock. So here is Mercury perfecting its conjunction with Neptune. And if I move the clock forward, just one day to March 30, you'll see that by tomorrow, it has already passed over the conjunction. So if you wanted to give it an extra day or so you can take it all the way till Wednesday, maybe even Thursday that you're feeling this, I would say this week, Monday through Wednesday, up until you know April 1, at least you could you could make the case that this energy will kind of be in the in the air. And you could you could feel it or notice that around you. So especially today and tomorrow, let's take a look at this and what you can expect.
1:14
The other thing I want to mention before I dive into this is that we will be tracking Mercury's upcoming sign change in particular, because once Mercury enters Aries, it is immediately entering into mutual reception with Mars. And that transit is going to be taking us into a pretty spectacular amount of busyness and action in the later part of April in particular, especially also as Mars is going to start getting into a trine with Jupiter. So that's the transit I had my eye on at the very beginning of the year is one of the bigger ones for the year. So once mercury enters Aries, there's a big shift in energy that we're going to be talking about here, coming up. So in the meantime, again, today, we're looking at Mercury's conjunction to Neptune. So here's what you can expect from this transit. Now this is happening. Remember, while Mercury is in its fall, also in its exile in the sign of Pisces. And the conjunction with Neptune in a double bodied water sign gives us a lot of water. So one of the significations I have down on my list is just water, water water. You know we had as this transit was perfecting and also as Mercury moved through a square to Mars, we had two toilets in our house with problems that we had to have a plumber come and fix like at the same time, they both needed some new internal part. So it was really interesting because they both needed the the same part if I'm not mistaken. And yet two different toilets in the house. And they had never give us any problems before it was just like weird. Thankfully, because we're renting you don't have to pay for it, so that was nice. But at any rate, water in particular can be a theme water and technology. I mentioned this the other day, like you know, you could spill water on your phone, it's just one of those things where you want to be careful about water accidents or water damage or leaks energetically, emotionally physically. It's not the greatest time to be buying or investing in technology. Because we could make the case that if your investor you're buying low on something right now and has nowhere to go but up. But generally speaking like I would wait until a little bit into April when Mercury gets into Aries has this mutual reception with Mars before buying technology. Mercury's a little bit dinged up right now in terms of you know, sort of the election of buying a piece of technology or equipment or a phone or a TV or something like that. So I would be just just you know, just so sort of careful about that.
3:55
So water, water, water and the relationship between water fluidity, and potentially technology. And, you know, you could also find that there is a fluid form of communication, or that there's a form of technology being used to increase emotional sensitivity or fluidity and ease of exchange or something like that. And that's one good thing about mercury and Pisces for sure is that it emphasises fluid communication or a fluid and sort of fertile transfer of ideas or goods or services. So on that level, it's very changeable, though at the same time. So you have to be careful of that subtle communication, where Mercury and Neptune together in particular, especially because Neptune points toward that which is subtle, as well as it points to that which is overwhelming and almost infinite. So the subtle, the overwhelming, the vast, the infinite. When Mercury has the ability to speak to those things you can almost spring to mind the image of a poet, a talented lyricist, a writer who is able to speak to subtle and almost intangible themes, but also the inability to speak to something unclear communication, on grounded communication, lack of boundaries and communication in the mind and speech. I don't know if you've ever found yourself in a situation where suddenly you realise you're saying or sharing too much, and then you just can't stop. So yeah, that that's potentially a little Mercury-Neptune. But also fantasies, dreams and reveries, and the ability for them to speak, for the daimon, for the spirit guides, for the dream guides to speak right now in very clear and lucid ways. Lucid dreaming comes to mind transmissions or channelling of information, but also delusions of a sort, or illusions that can come through at the exact same time, the gods take control when Mercury and Neptune get together. And that might mean that you have a clear stream of consciousness writing session or musical performance or something like that. It can also mean that you're overwhelmed. I'll just use an example. I remember when I was, I guess, in my early 20s, and there was a thing called easy journal. And this is actually where I got started as an online blogger. And I had an easy journal, and I developed something of an audience on on this easy journal, since deleted. But the funny thing was, one of the things that I would do occasionally is I would be listening to music. And back then, I mean, when I started my easy journal, you know, I want to say, emo music was, I mean, it had a history but my easy journals started probably like 2002-3 or somewhere right around there, you know, bands like Death Cab for Cutie, were like, you know what I was like a definitely a prisoner of the moment when it came to sort of like indie rock at that time. It's weird, I don't even really listen to music that much anymore. I listened to like flute music. And, like, ever since I loaded up on ayahuasca for 10 years, I'm just not that interested in rock music. But there is really good rock music out there still. Anyway, so you're here I go with Mercury Neptune all over the place.
7:29
But at any rate, I would write in the easy journal, and I would get so worked up by the emotions of a song. And then I would pour that into my writing. And what I found out when I ended up going to grad school for creative writing, is that that very, very rarely led to my best writing. I would think it was my, it was my best writing. It's sort of similar to we've ever tried to write while you're, I mean, maybe some people do. But if back in the day, if you ever tried to write well, you had were under the influence of something, you might think it was really greater that you were saying something really profound, but later you realise that you were seized by some wave of nonsense.
8:12
So anyway, now it has to be silent when I write, I have to be really clear and has to come through in that way. But that idea of piggybacking on an emotional wave that comes from music or something in the environment, and getting swept up in it and becoming, you know, kind of identified with it and transmitting something, but also, perhaps losing ourselves and thinking that things are more significant than they are, that all of those kinds of things can happen. The dissolution of something, Mercurial can happen, deception and invisibility, that could mean gossip or rumours or idle speculation, opinions that are fantastical. So you got to be careful of that, almost like that, that idle, gossiping speculative and unclear boundaries, things like that. Also, the appearance of omens, when Mercury gets together with Neptune, things will speak. Things that are, you know, a tree or an animal or, you know, something like that can actually speak and that's a totally legitimate way of understanding it. And sometimes it's hard to know the difference. You know, you might be in a space where you've pumped yourself up on, on on your emotions, and then you walk out into the world you're feeling kind of blissed out, and then like everything's speaking, you know, and it's like, Okay, well, not everything means something in a universe where everything means something. It's kind of a paradox. Everything means something. And so sometimes, as I mentioned in a talk on Pisces, I think was the Sun and Neptune last month, or earlier this month, maybe. Sometimes it's about letting things pass like not every piece of information or word or idea or thought or sign or omen has to mean something. It's almost like realising you're walking around like Alice in Wonderland and that everything is, is turned upside down and everything speaking and the flowers are talking to you. And it's like, yeah, that's just life. So, you know, get used to Wonderland and if you don't get used to Wonderland, it'll have a tendency of making you paranoid. So that's kind of maybe that's a Mercury Neptune message.
10:24
A broad grasp of something that eludes naming or description, for example, the ability to suddenly comprehend a complicated idea, but it's something that's also hard to describe or name. Have you ever had that happen? Like, for me, astrologically as I've studied astrology over the years, it's happened many times where it's like, suddenly I realised that my brain has like levelled up. It's like when you've just understood something now, can you explain it? And I'm like, Oh, no, I don't think I can explain it, you know. So sometimes you you'll understand, or you'll grasp something, but you're not yet ready to articulate it or put it into words. And my advice, as far as I've seen with these kinds of transits, just give it time, because it, it's almost like when you tell your mind, hey, what are the lyrics of that song? And your mind is like, well, I don't know. And you're like, Okay, well, if I keep trying, trying, I can't remember but if I let go, then 20 minutes later, all of a sudden, like, you know, the microwave buzzer goes ding, all sudden, you go, Oh, yeah, here it is. And then you, you remember the name the the lyrics to a song or something like that. If you're like me, it'll probably still be the wrong lyrics. But you'll think that you remembered them.
11:31
Freudian slips, watch for Freudian slips, and also let give people the opportunity to have a Freudian slip, that doesn't actually mean anything, it was just the slip of the tongue. Sometimes it can mean something. Sometimes it doesn't. Not everything means something, if everything means something.
11:47
Also, you think of this particular transit, and you think of form in the service of intuition, or artfulness. Like in astrology, for example, I say this to my students all the time, our craft, our theory or technique is there to serve the divinatory moment, the divinatory space, in other words, the oracle of the sky is using craft and form to speak. And we have to be, we have to be servants of the voice speaking, and then we tend to know how and when to use form or technique or we know how to use a method. And I think that's the same with art and music, too, we know when and how to use chords, or scales or colours or tools as an artist, because we're listening to something that's trying to come through. Now that can be taken to an extreme and people can kind of throw out the need for form, or the need for method or a disciplined approach or consistency of craft, all of which could be problematic. So you could also go in the opposite direction, but watch for those kinds of tensions. And then finally, one of the things that can come up is this idea of victimisation, of feeling like the victim of forces that are too big, to name, too subtle to comprehend. And sometimes that's going to be true, you can get overwhelmed by things. And then other times, I've seen this so many times with people who have intense Neptune transits for example, around their first house ruler or in connection to something in the chart that's pointing towards health, mental or emotional or physical, where, because something is really difficult to name or grasp in terms of an underlying illness or affliction, a person will start becoming more paranoid and almost like they're feeling victimised by something, it's like something is really bothering me, something's really wrong, but no doctor can figure it out, not like like this. And while that's true, and you will see people dealing with that with Neptune transits or Neptune placements in the chart, you have to be careful because you can also exacerbate and things can become amplified and much more psychosomatic and you can amplify the degree to which unknown undiagnosable mysterious, subtle forces are overwhelming you by virtue of focusing and fixating on them.
14:10
On the other hand, people who deal with things like this will often be told by people around them, oh, you're just crazy. And that that doesn't help anything because oftentimes with Neptune transits you are being overwhelmed by something subtle, an allergy of, you know, whatever the case might be. And so it also doesn't help to pretend like it's all in your head. Like, if you have a friend who's going something through something like this, don't gaslight them, but I always find that it's like the balance when I have my Neptune clients who are like I've just been dealing with something. So many different symptoms, so many different things. No one can figure out what's going on. The first thing to say well, that's what Neptune is like. So you validate that that's indeed what it's like to have Neptune around health or the mind or the emotions at the same time know that it's such a sensitive placement, that that yes, you're right you have these intense sensitivities, but also you can amplify them a great deal if you get fixated or obsess on them. And that's such a fine balance because again, those very same people will often be told that they're crazy. And so it's just really challenging, it can be really challenging to deal with Neptune when it comes to like Mind Body health, because it's so subtle and hard to grasp and yet responds so intensely to people stressing out about it as well.
15:36
The other thing that can come about is yes, feeling overwhelmed by things, by people by life, but also just generally, the admonition really don't don't become a victim of these forces. Yes, they're real. But also you can make it a lot worse by becoming a victim of them. So it's about it's about feeling validated, but not becoming a victim at the exact same time when it comes to Neptune. And that's a fine line to walk because you often have this polarisation of people in all different walks of life that will vehemently defend their experience because they have felt overwhelmed or victimised. And then on the other hand, you'll have people who will often completely deny and you know, call people, like victim is like a dirty word. It's like, oh, you're a victim or so that whole dichotomy and that can come up with Neptune and Pisces in particular, the archetypal territory is that a victim and redeemer, sinner and saint and the polarisation between, you know, I've been victimised by something out of my control? No, no, no, you've done it all to yourself, those voices are archetypal. So the easiest way to get through that conversation is to realise that neither extreme is usually the right answer. It's not just that we're a victim, or that we're the hero who pulls ourselves up by our own bootstraps. It's never one or the other. It's it's always, there's always a, an ongoing dialogue between self responsibility and forces outside of ourselves. And they're always interacting, they exist on a kind of spectrum with one another. And the sensitivity around that could be a big thing in say, the next couple of days with Mercury on Neptune as it tends to come up when Mercury goes to Neptune.
17:23
So, again, what is my approach bent over the years just to re summarise it? When people are dealing with forces in any area of life, they feel like they're overwhelming and inundating them, and that you can feel that maybe they're getting a little bit swept up in it. The most important thing to do whether it's to ourselves or people around us is to validate and listen and empathise first, at least that's what really works for me. And then also help people to take as much confidence faith and ownership of the situation as they can as as you can help them to and it might not even be our job to help anyone do that, but just to listen so for me, when I'm like for example, I'm feeling really overwhelmed by something first, I go Yes, this is really overwhelming and there is something other than me that is overwhelming. It's not all completely in my control because I don't have that much power. And then second, well, what what is within my sphere of control, what can I do to make sure that I'm not adding to the overwhelm and and that's how I deal with that. So I hope that this has been helpful today. give you guys some preparation for mercury and Neptune's conjunction this week. Let me know how you're doing with this. If you have this in your birth chart. What have your experiences of Mercury and Neptune been like in your life? I'd love to hear from you guys. And we'll be together again later this week for lots of new content, including the overview for April and April's Sun Moon Rising horoscopes. Alright, take it easy, everyone. Bye.
