Hi everyone this is Acyuta-bhava from Nightlight Astrology and today we are going to take a look at Mercury's upcoming antiscia to both Jupiter in Capricorn and Pluto in Capricorn just already moved through the antiscion with Saturn in Capricorn. This is following on the heels of a number of antiscia that were made between the Sun and the stellium in Sun and Sagittarius and the stellium in Capricorn last week, which turned out to be pretty eventful. So we're going to talk about Mercury's upcoming series of aspects. I explained what antiscia are in the video on the Sun's antiscia last week, so if you need a refresh, if you're like, wait, what is antiscia? It's a certain kind of aspect that I unpack and explain in last week's video on the Sun antiscia, so go back and watch that one if you need a little theoretical boost in your understanding. We're also going to take a look at the Moon in Cancer today, over the next day making a series of really potent opposition's to that stellium in Capricorn, I'll mention that as well, because that can be something that we can easily get swept up in. So it's good to be aware of the opposition's anytime the Moon has been in cancer over the past year. So it's something that I've I usually circle and I'm just a little extra careful with. So I'll go over that with you guys today, too.

Okay, so let's dive in. We've got Mercury in Sagittarius, you can see that it's just passed through the antiscion with Saturn. And again, like I said, if you don't know what antiscia are, be sure to go back to last week's video where I talk about kind of give a definition. Next is the antiscion with Jupiter. And that's really important as Jupiter is the host of mercury in Sagittarius who is now in its detriment and under the combustion status, it's getting into the under the beams of the Sun and kind of invisible and sort of burning up. So very important potential transit here for Mercury. Now, if you go forward just a little bit more, you're going to see that Mercury then gets into the antiscion with Pluto. This is all happening by Sunday of this week. So we have you know, a good spread of three or four days in front of us where you're going to be able to feel the effects of these aspects. Remember, one of the characteristics of antiscia is that they tend to be a little bit more secretive, or they have almost like a little bit of a, a hiddenness or something, they can imply things that are hidden.

So we have to take a moment to refresh on Mercury and I wanted to read a passage to you from Vettius Valens who was a Hellenistic astrologer and some of the range of significations that was given to Mercury in the ancient world. So this is from a nice book that I just got called the Classical Seven Planets Source Texts and Meanings by Charles Obert. The nice thing about this is that he compiles the entries from a variety of different arrows of astrology. Hellenistic medieval, Renaissance and different authors and puts them all together for each planet so that you can kind of read how astrologers talking about each planet throughout different areas of astrology. Highly recommended if you're into ancient astrology in particular, because these source texts are all classical source text. So anyway, here's what Valens says about Mercury:
5:43
"Mercury indicates education, letters, disputation, reasoning, brotherhood interpretation embassies, number accounts, geometry, markets, youth, games, theft, association, communication, service, gain, discoveries, obedience, sport, wrestling, declamation, certification, supervision, weighing and measuring, the testing of coinage, hearing versatility. It is the bestower of forethought and intelligence the lord of brothers and of younger children and the creator of all marketing and banking. In its own character it makes temple builders modellers, sculptors, doctors, secretaries, legal advisors, orators, philosophers, architects, musicians, prophets, diviners, augers, dream interpreters, braiders, weavers, systematic physicians, those in charge of war and strategy, and those undertaking any unusual systematic work in accounting or with reasoning. Mercury makes weightlifters and minds those making their livelihood with displays of skill, deception, gambling or sleight of hand. It also rules those skilled interpreters of the heavens, those who by using pleasure or winning charm, earn fame for their amazing feats all for the sake of gain. This star's effects go in many different directions depending on the changes of the zodiac and the interactions of the stars and yields quite varied results knowledge for some, selling for others, service for others trade or teaching for others, farming or temple service or public employment for still others. To some it grants authority, rentals, labour contracting, rhythmical performance, the display of public service, the acquisition of personal attendance of the right of wearing temple linen robe in the luxury appropriate to Gods or rulers. As for the end result, Mercury will make everything capricious and outcome and quite disturbed. Even more, it causes those having the star and malefic signs or degrees to become even worse. The parts of the body rules the hands, the shoulders, the fingers, the joints, the belly, the sense of hearing the arteries, the intestines, the tongue of material, it rules, copper, and all coins used in buying and selling, for the God makes exchanges. It is blue in colour sharpened taste."
7:50
Isn't that interesting? One of the things that people don't understand about Mercury often is its association with youth in games. So you think of things like wrestling and court games and anything that goes back and forth, or there's this kind of youthful fun, even like a board game could be understood in some ways as Mercurial. Mercury, not Venus was also traditionally related to money, and markets and anything that exchanges hands and services. It can be associated with things like deception, but also with intelligence and all different manner of intelligence, especially anything that requires or that involves a technical skill. Aalso Mercury is the patron god of astrology. This is the science of Hermes. Hermes was the original name for Mercury until the Roman god's name kind of replaced it. But Mercury is a messenger, a teacher and explainer a writer. But also, Mercury is very good when it comes to things like business or technology or marketplaces. So it's a such a diverse planet, and it helps to really remember that. Now, the reason that I want to focus in particular on the fact that this Mercury is right now in its detriment in Sagittarius, Jupiter's sign, so it's natural planetary contrary is Jupiter. Why? Well, one way that it's explained in an ancient source text is that while Mercury is about the intellect, and let's say the ability of the intellect to take things apart, to dispute things, to debate or analyse or take apart. Jupiter puts things together, Jupiter makes a big whole. Jupiter makes things bigger, Mercury tends to analyse and take things apart. So there's this and there's lots of other reasons too, but just a simple way of understanding that Mercury in Sagittarius is said to be debilitated classical astrology, because it is in the sign of its planetary, contrary Jupiter. Now when it's in that sign, and it's also under the beams of the Sun to get some within about 15 degrees of the sun, it goes invisible, can't see it anymore. And the closer it gets sometimes within about eight degrees or so, it said to be burnt up it's said to be combust, so it gets compromised. Now, a compromised, debilitated Mercury, who is in Jupiter's sign and then moving into the secretive conjunction with Jupiter who is sandwiched between Pluto and Saturn and is in the sign of its fall, Mercurial things can fall right now. Mercurial things can get jacked up, Mercurial things can suffer or struggle, or there can be more challenging or corrupt versions of the Jupiter-Mercury combination. So what might that mean, tangibly?
11:07
Well, let's say that there's a corporation where some kind of financial scandal is being revealed or is trying to be covered up. Or let's say that there's some form of market manipulation, or there's coercion going on, financially within within the higher ups of a company or the higher ups of the government. Not anything that's like brand new in this world, right. But something that takes on a moment of greater significance and exposure. Now, the reason for this would be, again, that you have a fallen Jupiter, right, sandwiched between Pluto and Saturn. So for all intents and purposes, it's like a malefic, it's going to tend to damage things. And mercury already pretty burnt up and an invisible secretive position, burnt up in Jupiter sign could suggest some kind of manipulation, currency manipulation, a potential lose lose situation around say money, finances, markets, agreements, deals, stuff like that. It could be also that you find yourself caught between a rock and a hard place, like, for example, it's one of those things where maybe you get caught in in the middle of some kind of negotiation, and it's too late to turn back. But suddenly, you realise that it's going to cost a lot more than you thought it was. Like, let's say you're having work done on your home, as the work is being done, suddenly, someone says, hey, it's going to cost a lot more, this thing is going to cost a lot more and you're already into the work. So you're really kind of stuck, you have to end up paying more. Some kind of cost or alteration to a pre-existing arrangement or agreement that ends up becoming more expensive or more than you bargained for. I would watch for those kinds of things, I would also watch for the potential to be taken advantage of, or for people, like quid pro quo situations that are kind of secretive or maybe not ethical, I would also look for the potential for sources of knowledge or information to be used as propaganda or a manipulation of the facts for the sake of gain, you know, just kind of the potential for knowledge or wisdom to be lorded over other people. At any rate, this stuff happens in the world pretty regularly. So I know, I'm not dropping any news bombs here.
13:56
Watch for the potential also of, let's say, great thinkers, or great thought leaders, scandal within universities or schools, or almost like, the potential here that I see is for the professor that, you know, gets gets caught with, some kind of inappropriate stuff on their computer, you know, and then they get fired or something. The potential for some kind of scandal around Mercury, Jupiter stuff. The other thing, of course, would be scandal within the clergy or within the church or within, you know, institutions or organisations that are like religious in nature, something that the pope is dealing with, you know, these are the kinds of things that I would expect in the collective. There's probably some that I'm missing, but there could also be issues within professional sports industries. And maybe another thing would be just some Some way in which authority has been abused. And this happens a lot but probably in the next couple of days you would see something sort of flare up in the news, I wouldn't be surprised anyway. And this would have the probably something that's been tried something that has been done covertly or secretly that sort of coming up, that's the plutonian element, it kind of explodes from the underworld. Also, the Mercury-Jupiter dynamic, the antiscion is secretive, Pluto tends to be kind of subterranean, Mercury's invisible and burnt up right now.
15:39
I would also be very careful about what we prompt like you could over promise something, or you could also be easily deceived. Someone saying something is going to be bigger or different than it actually will be. So those are things that come to my mind. Now, personally speaking, you want to look at the whole sign houses in your chart between Sagittarius and Capricorn, there's something there. The other thing would be the other thing that I would encourage everyone to do would be to just note anything unexpected that suddenly comes up or that you become aware of that, that you weren't anticipating sort of hidden or secretive news or information that kind of comes to the surface, maybe it's very helpful, maybe it's very relieving to find something out or to come to understand something that had previously not been conscious. But watch for that. Mercury's going to get beat up here a little bit, but you see the turnaround for Mercury a little bit later, it gets cazimi right around the 20th, it's at the heart of the sun on the 20th. And then it switches over to starting to emerge again as the evening star. And that's when you're going to start to see Mercury recovers, it's like between now and say, the solstice of this year, Mercury stuff is not going to be entirely easy. But you should start to see a turnaround by the about the 20th. It depends a lot on your birth chart, too. I mean, it's not going to be difficult or even felt by everyone really, depending on what's going on in your chart. Honestly, this month, the Eclipse and Jupiter, Saturn is going to take centre stage for most people anyway.
17:42
As promised, I also want to mention today that you you also have the Moon moving into this triple opposition, and what's watch how that plays out. So this is something that if you run this forward one day, you're going to see that tomorrow, by the same time that I'm recording this about 10:30am in Minneapolis, you're going to see that the Moon by Friday morning is now in Leo, but between now and early tomorrow morning, the moon is going to oppose Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn, all in a row. Let's just see how this goes. So the opposition to Pluto, which will be probably quite, you know, that can be quite intense that's happening by early this evening. And then you get the opposition to Jupiter happens by very late tonight or a bit close to midnight, and then through the morning hours here in the United States, you've got the moon opposing Saturn. Don't be surprised whenever the moon opposes Saturn, I noticed that I have real sleep issues. Sometimes it's nightmares. Sometimes it's just like tossing and turning. Moon Saturn does not usually make for good sleep. Moon opposite Pluto, between now and this evening, don't be surprised if some form of emotional or family drama comes up. Don't be surprised if the places that you feel more vulnerable are sort of exposed. And don't be surprised if there's just kind of that upsurge of that feeling of purging something or getting something out or something coming up that is more intense, subterranean, and plutonian. Pluto is kind of demonic and dark and deep but it's also subterranean and rich and life giving, it can be either. But with the opposition there's going to be that split between sort of peace loving romantic nostalgic, comfort and security seeking Cancer Moon on the one hand and that the deep intense kind of hard edgy plutonian quality It wouldn't surprise me if issues around opulence or wealth or almost like the the big Jupiterian qualities and element of how those qualities are not at their best right now too is like kind of a corrupt Jupiter comes into the spotlight this evening a bit. As well as, the Moon Saturn opposition through the night, which doesn't necessarily this would be the night where I would I kind of could see myself writing this in my daily prayer journal and being like, don't go to sleep on your anger or don't go to sleep on mixed or bad feelings like it's probably going to make it rough to sleep tonight if you have that. This is a powerful transit right now. And the other thing I guess it's worth pointing out I'm just realising I should talk about this probably too. Venus is moving into a trine with Neptune maybe I'll do another video on this tomorrow. But that Venus Neptune trine is very seductive and beautiful and alluring, but maybe also represents some kind of temptation for something that is not altogether healthy and could represent a drain on your energy or your health if you fall prey to it. And on the other hand, it can be a very imaginative and sort of erotic transit that is related to things like sex, romance, love beauty. One thing that I would be careful of given this combination of Venus and Neptune with Venus in you know, Mars a sign and the antiscion coming between Mercury and Jupiter - and this is something that I guess I have, personally, it's a pet peeve of mine. So, I just wanna make that clear, because it's not necessarily an entirely fair criticism on some levels - but I've noticed that there are a lot of people in both, we'll just call it the spiritual arts in general, like, whether it's astrology or Tarot or yoga, that often conflate what is oftentimes a really nice presentation and intelligence with the desire to sell themselves as a sex object. And, or to capitalise to try to gain viewers by being sort of as provocative and sexy as possible, while also, you know, trying to share wisdom or knowledge. One of my pet peeves, because I think it really sort of degrades the the knowledge to objectify oneself and it's difficult criticism to level because I know that it can come across as very judgmental, but that's my personal take. In Bhakti. Of course, it's obviously it's a big no no to do that. So that's part of my own faith, and belief system. But I would say that these transits can offer that potential to try to try to make something more tempting or alluring, or to possibly try to manipulate or play on people's desires and fantasies in ways that aren't entirely healthy, and maybe not totally honest. And you could end up degrading yourself or others or some form of knowledge or wisdom by doing so. So that's something that I would also be careful of in the next week. Again I present that for something for your consideration, if you find that that's a take that you don't doesn't really resonate with you, no big deal.
23:46
So that's what I've got for today. I hope that this was interesting to go back over another series of antiscia. I loved hearing like last week, we did one with the sun. And then right after that, there was a famous soccer player that died. That was profound, because we had drawn comparisons to from that transit to the Kobe Bryant death, and in this famous soccer player died. And there was a few other things last week that fit the bill for the antiscia as well, it was it was powerful. So if you see or spot anything in the news, or current events in your country, or around the world that seemed to fit with these antiscia that we're talking about, or any aspects of today that we've been talking about, feel free to leave in the comment section. I love hearing your guys's comments, or how does it showing up in your life, I would like to hear that as well. We are very, very close to surpassing the minimum so that the project gets funded for my annual Kickstarter. I think we're like 100 or $200 away or something like that. So we're over 400 backers, we're heading to 691 to try to break our record from last year. Pick up a reward, pick up a recording, pick up a horoscope for the year ahead, pick up my talk on the astrology of 2021 pick up half off on any of my online programmes, lots of good deals. So I thank you all for contributing, and I look forward to you know, doing this work together for the next year in 2021. All right, that's what I've got for today. Take it easy, everyone. Bye.
