Today, I want to look at the same transit again, but from a different angle. I've been brainstorming about the development of this transit, especially since Uranus and Mars are coming together less than a degree from my ascendant. With the transit being so palpable for me, I thought it would be worthwhile to continue exploring it, as it's one of the biggest transits of the summer and crucial for us to develop our understanding as it progresses.

Hey everyone, this is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology. Yesterday, we took a look at Mars and Uranus slowly coming together to conjoin in the late degrees of Taurus, and today, I want to look at the same exact transit again but from a different angle. I've been just brainstorming about the development of this transit. Probably, to be honest with you guys, Uranus and Mars are coming together less than a degree off from my ascendant. So I'm in the midst of a Uranus on the ascendant transit. And so it's, I can just feel it, it's really palpable like I can feel it in my body.
So I was like, Well, you know, I'm having lots of thoughts and, you know, little percolating insights and thought bubbles rising to the surface. So I thought, why not continue on this path since this is arguably the biggest next transit of the summer? There are some others that are big, but this is one of the biggest of the summer, so yeah, let's keep going because this is building, and it's important to be developing our understanding of the transit as the transit is actually developing. So that's what we'll do today.
Before we get into it, don't forget to like, subscribe, and share your comments and reflections. I'd love to hear from you guys. You can find transcripts of any of my daily talks on the website nightlight astrology.com. Promotions are over for enrollment season. And so the only thing that I will point you to, which I'll start advertising a little bit more in the next couple of weeks, is my next monthly webinar talk in July, which will be a preview of Uranus's entrance into Gemini. So that'll be mid-July when I'm doing that talk. I'll probably start promoting it in the next couple of weeks.
Anyway. So, let's go ahead and turn our attention now to the real-time clock where we can track this transit. We did this yesterday. But we're going to do this exercise again. Here, we can see in the sign of me my epic pen has disappeared. Okay, there we go. There you are. There you are, old friend. All right, we're going to take a look at this pairing right here.
There's Mars and Uranus. Now, watch them as we accelerate the clock. They are going to hear they're in the second house. Now you can see in the house locations that are unique to where I'm located, so you know we're just tracking the planets. Of course, they're gonna be located in different houses in your birth chart. Here, they are coming together about July 15. My birthday is July 16. So, I have an interesting solar return. I'll tell you that all is on my ascendant as well.
Anyhow, right there, you can see that the two planets are coming together, and then they separate, and within that three-degree separation range, Mars then immediately jumps into the next sign of Gemini. So this is a culminating Mars in Taurus sign of its stability, right a place that is a little bit more stressed because you have Mars trying to behave like Mars and Venus-ruled sign. So, there's a kind of archetypal tension that can lead to certain challenges that have to be overcome and that are also part of the creative gift or offering of Mars in the Temple of Venus. So, anyhow, this culminates with Mars conjoining with Uranus in those late degrees, and this is right around July 15. So, what I want to do today is talk about five important points.
Now, I have titled this talk: Everyone Has a Breaking Point. And I don't mean that it doesn't have to be disastrous or cataclysmic. A breaking point could be very subtle. And it could be, you know, not like the world's biggest revolution. Honestly, that will depend a lot on where this falls in your birth chart; it could be a much more significant transition for me, for example, because I have the two passing over my ascendant, which is cool. Like, if I disappeared, guys, you never see me again. I'm just kidding. So, what does it mean that these two planets are coming together? I was thinking about the karmic fault lines I talked about yesterday, and you can watch them, feel them, and notice them shifting. This is a fixed earth sign of Taurus here.
So we're talking about structures that are all about the maintenance of peace, serenity, security, stability, a combination of control, ease, and pleasure. These are the fruits and the values of Taurus. Well, when it comes to the slow, gradual development of Mars, moving through Taurus and heading into conjunction with Uranus, the god of revolution, we can think about this as reaching a breaking point. Breaking points happen for a variety of reasons. Because of the map, the manifest world is a world of patterns and patterns moving in rhythms like music.
Well, the time signatures and the themes change the key you're playing and changes, and it happens in so many different areas of our lives. I mean, the thing that really helped me to understand the language of astrology in the earliest time of my earliest studies were psychedelic experiences. It's not that you have to have them or anything, but they were so valuable to me because they really helped me and allowed me to see the patterns in my own mind emotionally, intellectually, and conceptually. And in that sense, this is why you often see psychedelic imagery in terms of mandalas and fractals.
But it's not just mandalas and fractals in terms of geometry, geometric shapes, and colors. It's also the way in which those shapes and colors get filled out with images and archetypal images; Venus, for example, is a world of shapes, sounds, colors, and images. And the images move in terms of themes. So when our lives are moving in any area of our life, you know, the relational department, the parenting department, the health department, you know, you got little like wings in the psyche. There are assortments of patterns that create a flow, a rhythm, and our experiences within these different areas of our lives. What happens when something like Mars and Uranus gets together is there is going to be a significant change; there's a kind of breaking point where the pattern hat can't hold anymore. The way in which the change occurs might be a little bit more abrupt with a planet like Mars or forceful, or there may be a quality of stress or even crisis.
But that's how the shift is made. And with a fixed earth sign, there's a little bit more the potential for a kind of stubborn or recalcitrant quality like I'm not going to change, I don't want to, or it's not easy, or I'm comfortable here is present. And so Mars coming into Taurus creates the Mars coming into Taurus and then moving toward Uranus creates a breaking point, a natural place where the pattern cannot hold; it has to change. And it does so in a way that is a little bit more stressful than the Venusian temple of Taurus prefers. So that's how we can think about it. I wrote down five important points this morning while meditating on all of this.
One is that asserting oneself is difficult but necessary. And Mars and Taurus are really, really, sort of sweet because the sign of Taurus is you've ever been out with a friend who makes you feel so comfortable, so at ease, so steady. So it's so enjoyable to be around such a person; they're like a rock. And they grant a sense of, like, there's gravity that allows everything to be held together and held down so it doesn't fly off into space. And Taurus is like that. You know, that same person that has that quality, that sort of Taurus person that you know, or maybe you're that Taurus person, it's difficult to suddenly say, This is what I want, or this is what I need, because there's a real chance that you will be seen, or you will be experienced as the disturber of the peace as the fly in the ointment. And those are not things that Venus prefers.
Venus is very natural, very subtle, and very easy at creating harmony, peace, flow, and equanimity. It's like the gently undulating, peaceful vibrations of a nice forest ecosystem. And so when Mars gets together in Taurus, we may come to the difficult space of having to assert ourselves, even if it disturbs the peace because it's necessary for something to change. Something has to change. It's ready, it's time. And it's even we can even consider that it is bigger than our will, even though our will may have to participate. And that's uncomfortable.
The change is somehow something you could think of as something that is natural, that's just occurring in the same way that, over time, shifts the qualities of an ecological system. Lightning hits the tree in the forest, and there's a forest fire. You know, things happen that shift the balance and nature of systems and create, in time, a new version of peace or a new version of flow. That's never easy when we have to be a part of the change and the disruption of the piece, but that might be what is required.
Number two. Venus is very good. Venus-like, let's just put it this way: Venus always knows what she likes or likes and dislikes; what? What will bring pleasure, peace, and happiness? She has impeccable taste and a refined palette. But What's difficult is that when Mars is in Taurus, it becomes complicated because Venus is usually able to draw to her. Without a kind of assertion or effort, she's able to draw in, like a centripetal force, the conditions and people and the environment that's conducive to what she desires. She can magnetize it in.
Mars, on the other hand, is more like a hunter; it goes out, centrifugal, it goes outward to go and get something done. There might be a feeling right now that what we need or desire isn't what we can't get. And we can't get it because the environment isn't the right one any longer. And so there becomes a need to sort of forcefully or assertively exit or leave or cut or sever ties with things or people that are not conducive to what is enjoyable, which is what we desire. So the way that we might, we might be tempted to stay put and not do the difficult work of changing. Because we tell ourselves that what we need or desire and the passion or intensity with which we desire it is bad, or it's too much, or it's needy, or it's over the top.
We might have to consider, on the other hand, that what we need or desire isn't bad. It's just difficult to make the kinds of changes in the environment that are necessary for our desires to be more easily and fluidly realized. Right, and that's a kind of Mars and Taurus situation where it would be really easy to either become passive/aggressive or to become condemning of our own desires and say, like, it's my appetite. That's the problem, you know. And maybe sometimes there are lessons about moderation, for sure, with Mars in Taurus, like the magnetar, or, you know, becoming possessed by our desires might be more of a possibility with Mars and Taurus. But we also have to grapple with the fact that what we need or desire isn't always bad. But we may have to sever cut, or like individual individuate. In some ways, being away from an environment or set of circumstances is no longer conducive to the realization of our desires.
Our number three, staying with the status quo for too long, will lead to a more difficult transition, always tough for Taurus, as someone who's been a part of the honorary Uranus in Taurus and my first house club. Like, I remember when I started realizing that the religious tradition I was a part of in the bhakti yoga community was no longer a good fit. It took me like a year and a half to be like, Okay, I'm going to leave this tradition, you know, I can do so peacefully. Like, it's okay to like, you know, no one's gonna hate me, you know.
So, for Taurus, a fixed earth sign that loves peace and stability, it's if you stay with the status quo for too long, the transition is almost always more difficult. And we may be ready for a difficult transition that's really born out of the fact that we have stayed, put, and sat on our hands and denied something for too long. So be really careful of that; it might be the time to start gradually moving toward this realization right now, as opposed to waiting until the moment when Mars and Uranus are conjoined, and all of a sudden, you've reached a breaking point.
Number four, it is important to remember that in any season of revolution, archetypally speaking, revolution is always paired with a kind of pressure, the reaching of a limit or the exploration of various limitations, and then the revolution or dismantling of various limits through the mounting pressure. Eventually, the change will be something new, but right now, this transit is really about the building of pressure, the experiencing of limits, and the pressing of that button of revolution. Powerful swift, also Taurean, we're talking at the end of the day about things that are about the establishment of a deeper form of security and enjoyment. My body and my world are sacred places in which I can feel happy.
Number five, revolution precedes a new form of peace or stability. We want to jump to the next thing that will be peaceful, but we forget that, again, archetypally, revolution comes first. It's like in the I-Ching: hexagram 49 is called revolution, and hexagram 50 is called the cauldron. And the idea is that you have a new political speaking before a new government can be established with new leaders. There has to be a kind of releasing or overthrowing of an old order.
Sometimes that's tyrannical. Sometimes you're just talking about transitions of power and leadership that are very natural. But the point is that the revolutionary moment is usually the difficult one. We have to learn that revolutionary moments are usually very fast and sudden, and there's something abrupt and just disruptive about them. Most of us don't want to live in revolutionary states forever. And yet, they are necessary for some of the deepest levels of change to occur.
Once they do occur like hexagram 50. The cauldron, you have the establishment of something that is now going to last that's now has an abiding kind of power in our in our lives. So remembering that that's a process that was promised in April by the Jupiter Uranus conjunction and Taurus that is now once again being punctuated really strongly by this building of Mars into Uranus, which will happen in mid July.
So, anyway, yeah, I've been reflecting on it a lot lately, because I can feel it. It's like it's like I said, it's coming over my my natal ascendant so I'm like, ooh, spicy. Alright, that's it for today. I hope this was useful for all of you and tomorrow I'll be unpacking the full moon which is coming in over the weekend. So we'll see you again for more tomorrow. Bye, everyone.
