Hey, everyone. This is Adam Elenbaass from Nightlight Astrology. Today we're going to talk about the sign of Aquarius and why it has a relationship with the topics of aliens and UFOs. This is something that people have asked me about recently, since I gave a webinar on Pluto's entrance into Aquarius. We brought up things like AI, aliens, and other interesting topics.
I'm also going to do a rewind episode from the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in 2020 this Saturday. Almost four years ago now, I was talking about the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in relation to UFOs and aliens. So, I think that's going to be a fun rewind episode. Someone actually reminded me of it after the webinar I gave.
Anyway, today I thought we’d devote some time to unpacking the connection between the sign of Aquarius and aliens. I think it will really help people understand why the sign is frequently correlated with this topic. It’s fascinating, too, because at first it sounds kind of sensational, but there’s actually a very real correlation with the search for extraterrestrial life, encounters with extraterrestrial life, and the question of who we are and our place in the larger cosmos as human beings.
All of this correlates to the sign of Aquarius, and I think you’ll find it fascinating today. Anyhow, that’s our agenda for today. Before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe. Share your comments and reflections—it really helps our channel grow. If you’re someone who watches regularly, it’s free to subscribe.
Now, before we dive into the main topic, there are two things I want to turn you on to before promoting the Kickstarter for the day. First, we have a winter solstice event coming up in person here in Minneapolis. It’s free to attend, so if you go to—oops, let me get this right—Nightlight Astrology’s website, you’ll find all the details.
You can click on the “events” page, then click on “in-person events,” and you’ll see the winter solstice gathering we’re hosting in Minneapolis at the Grapevine Collective from 6 to 8:30 PM on December 21st. It’s free to attend, but you’ll need to RSVP so we know how many treats to bring! We want to make sure we have enough tea and goodies for everyone.
We’d love to see you there, and we’re going to ritualize this significant astrological moment with some reflection and time for socializing with people in the community. Hope to see some of you there!
The other thing coming up this week is that on Thursday night, I’ll be giving a talk on the sixth house. The sixth house is a topic in ancient astrology that a lot of people get freaked out by. It was associated with slavery, sickness, sacrifice, and service. It’s called the House of Bad Fortune, and it was also known as the Joy of Mars. Why? Is this house really that bad?
I don’t think so. There are things we need to understand about the house, but once we do, it’s a very empowering place that I think most of us will benefit from understanding at a deeper level. The talk is from 7 to 9 PM, and if you can’t make it live, you can get the recording afterward as part of the registration. You can attend live or just access the recording.
Okay, now onto our Kickstarter for the day. As most of you know, we are trying to rally the support of 19,137 backers by January 1st. As of the time I’m recording this, we have just over 360 backers. We still need 15,177 more backers to meet our goal by New Year’s Eve. That’s a huge amount of backers we need, but there are a variety of rewards available when you support the channel.
You can find the link to the Kickstarter in the description of this video, in the comment section, or on the Nightlight Astrology website. Just click on the Kickstarter 2025 link. When you go over there, you’ll see something like this on your screen, and if you scroll down, you can learn about all the different rewards we offer.
We have a lot of great rewards when you donate, and you can also donate without a reward. Any dollar amount helps—$1, $5, $10, $15—anything at all helps us reach our backer total. If we meet that goal, we’ll be close to the financial target we need. We try to outdo our backer total from the previous year, even if it’s just by one person. This year’s goal is literally just one backer better than last year, and usually, we do better than that, but it sets the standard. If we can meet that goal, we know we can continue to create success as we’ve been able to do thus far.
There will be rewards available throughout the Kickstarter, with the best ones being our class passes. You can find all four years of our curriculum on sale, with up to 75% off when you bundle them together. You can use these passes on anything we offer, renewed anytime you want in 2025, 2026, or 2027. It’s a pretty good deal.
I like to say something about why I think the Kickstarter is worth supporting every day during Kickstarter season. Today, I want to talk about something that my team and I work to create for everyone year-round—your stories.
Throughout the year, we do "Grabbed" episodes where we highlight your stories in our monthly horoscopes. We try to share your experiences with the astrological transits. I’m deeply moved to read hundreds and hundreds of stories you all submit through the hashtag #Grabbed or via email at grabbed@nightlightastrology.com. We occasionally aggregate those stories into a storytelling episode, where we feature your experiences with the transits.
I also frequently break down stories from clients and students to highlight how they reflect the archetypal dynamics in the sky. It’s important to remember that we live in a community, and your experiences are reflected in the storytelling we share. If you appreciate that part of the channel, please consider donating and helping us make our goal.
We’re a little behind our goal right now. We need to get to a pace of about 30 to 40 backers a day. It seems like a lot, but we’re not far behind our pace from last year. Yesterday, we cut our deficit in half, which is really good. So anything and everything helps.
Alright, now, on that note, let’s focus on Aliens and Aquarius. This is going to be fun!
..
All right, let's go ahead and get into it. So today, we are looking at Pluto in Aquarius, and why this planetary ingress is being associated, not just by myself, but by many astrologers, with the UFO phenomenon, with aliens, and with the potential for discovering life on other planets. Why this combination? Why this sign?
So before I unpack this for us today, a couple of things. One, you can go onto my website, into the shop page at NightlightAstrology.com. I'll put the link up here, and you can find a talk, or the replay of a talk that I recently did on Pluto into Aquarius. In that talk, I unpack a lot of the historical significance of Pluto's last transit through Aquarius and then broadly associate those themes with some of the themes we may expect today. That’s a real broad coverage of the topic, including things like aliens, AI, governmental changes and shifts, so it's a more comprehensive treatment.
But after that talk, I got a lot of follow-up questions from people asking me to delve a little bit deeper into the symbolism of Pluto and Aquarius in relation to the topic of aliens and UFOs, especially since the week that Pluto entered Aquarius, we had those hearings taking place. I think it was with Pentagon officials in the US government about the documentation of UFOs and things like that.
So it was really cool to have done that webinar the week that Pluto was entering Aquarius and all of that was happening. But then it really did conjure up a lot of follow-up questions. So here today, we’re going to be focusing just on the alien part of Pluto and Aquarius. You could get that webinar if you wanted a more comprehensive treatment. Over the weekend, I’ll be posting a replay of a talk I did in 2020 around the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction and the association with the sign of Aquarius and aliens that I did four years ago, which a viewer pointed out to me. I thought, “Wow, that's really interesting!” That might make for a fun bonus episode to kind of look back at some of the things we were saying about aliens around the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction and Aquarius, which, of course, Pluto is on right now—it's on the same degree that that Jupiter-Saturn conjunction took place on the winter solstice of 2020, four years ago.
So anyway, kind of a fun, full-circle thing to explore and something to look forward to with Pluto in Aquarius for the next two decades.
Let’s take a look at the real-time clock and refresh ourselves on this transit of Pluto in Aquarius. As of today, December 10, you can see Pluto’s in Aquarius. The big focus for our week will be the Venus-Mars conjunction. We'll be getting back into that tomorrow. I thought this would be a fun segue for a week that is not as busy as some other weeks have been recently.
So here's Pluto in Aquarius—Pluto entered Aquarius in November 2024, and now it’s here to stay for two decades. Just a refresher on what you know: this ingress just happened, and we now have about 20 years of it to come. So now it becomes really important to talk about some of the things that we might see or experience.
It just seems to me that everybody’s fascination and curiosity are piqued by the subject of other forms of life. Why wouldn’t it be? What an exciting prospect to discover that our universe is vast, that we might not be alone. I mean, we all know the universe is big, but sometimes it’s so unfathomably large that it’s like trying to grasp the concept of infinity. We’re being bombarded with celestial facts of unimaginable proportions: there are 500 billion stars in this galaxy alone, and each of them is a sun with innumerable planets, and this is just one of billions of galaxies.
For us, it’s like someone saying, “Why don’t you go count the grains of sand on the beach?” We just go, “Okay, it’s huge,” and leave it at that.
But one of the things that I believe makes us so curious about the topic of alien life is that some greater knowledge of that vastness could come by way of discovering an animal or an intelligent species, having contact with some other form of life, or understanding interdimensional or extra-dimensional beings—all of these things that traditionally existed in the realm of mysticism or speculation.
To have them come into the realm of “quote-unquote fact,” to become socially accepted—that we’ve talked with another form of life, or communicated with another being, another species from a different planet. We now know more about this solar system or this galaxy. We’ve been taught this, or we’ve learned this. Those kinds of prospects are deeply intriguing to us.
And, of course, there’s the potential for connection. Many of us love animals, plants, and other forms of life, and we connect with them. The idea of connecting with other forms of life that could take us into a broader neighborhood, a broader village, a broader ecosystem—spiritually, karmically, psychologically—could be something we crave, in the same way that human beings crave adventure, new horizons, and traveling to places we’ve never been before.
For all of those reasons and more, we get fascinated by any astrological transit that could invoke a subject like aliens. I just want to say that, because I think it’s important to clarify: I don’t like to be a sensationalist in the way that I do astrology. I’m not someone who is going to say, “The aliens have landed! Pluto’s in Aquarius!” I find all of that to be unimaginative and opportunistic. So, I’m not going to go down that path, right?
But do I think there’s a possibility that this transit coincides with learning more about the universe, including the potential of alien life forms? Yes, yes I do, and I have reasons for thinking that.
So what I want to do first is tell you why I think Pluto and Aquarius could be associated with aliens. But I want to say more broadly that major transits of any kind—Neptune, Pluto, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter—the slower-moving planets, especially moving through the sign of Aquarius, will tend to evoke within the collective imagination questions about who we are as human beings and how we come to understand ourselves as human beings within the greater scope of the universe.
This is a sign that was called “humane,” and it is a sign that was given the image of a human being, the water bearer, Ganymede. Aquarius has always had a relationship with where we stand as human beings in the cosmos. That’s baked into the mythology of the sign.
So let’s start there. Why would Pluto and Aquarius be associated with aliens? Let’s start with Aquarius itself. Because, again, many transits through Aquarius—if you watch that video I did in 2020—have coincided with the importance of the alien phenomenon, or the interest in UFOs and things like that.
So what is it about the sign? Let’s start there, and then we’ll get to Pluto.
First is the myth of Ganymede. I’m going to show you guys some pictures that I think are really interesting. So, here we have the abduction of Ganymede. You can see here, Ganymede is being lifted off from the Earth by an eagle. The eagle is either the messenger of Zeus or Zeus himself, abducting Ganymede, who’s a promising, sparkling example of humanity. He’s a special, chosen, beautiful example of a human, and Zeus covets his humanity.
This is an interesting topic I’ve covered at length in other talks I’ve given on Aquarius—about why it is that the gods are fascinated with human beings, and why human beings are fascinated with the gods. It has to do with the fact that the grass is always greener. In our consciousness, we think it would be amazing to be immortal, and immortals think it might be amazing to be mortal. Everything tastes sweet when death is an inevitability. When you live forever, you don’t have to worry about death, and that may be the prize, but there’s a trade-off, right?
The pain of death, and the bitterness of life, make everything sweet. Whereas, obviously, living forever would, on the surface, seem like a really great thing—and certainly it is—but also there’s a way in which it might become bland.
We could go on and on about why the gods and the people want to be on each other’s side, and why we want to flip-flop roles. That’s a great and interesting theme in ancient mythology. But suffice to say, Ganymede is abducted, taken up into the sky by Zeus.
This establishes the immediate connection with the psychological or archetypal themes of abduction by higher powers, by higher forces that live in the sky, that take us up. There’s an immediate metaphorical and archetypal connection to the theme of alien abduction, which runs very deep in this sign.
It has many different meanings. It’s not just literal alien abduction, although it could be, but I’ll come around to that in a minute. The important thing, though, is that we have a human being taken to the realm of a higher being and made the servant of the higher being, which is an incredibly fortunate, beautiful, interesting, special role.
Imagine if you or I were thought of as so beautiful that the gods abducted us, or a highly advanced form of life abducted us, took us up, and said, “We think you're so special that we have this very special role for you to play. You're going to be the servant to the king of this alien world, these god.
There's something that's a little sparkly about that, you know, it's like, hmm, that sounds kind of interesting. On the other hand, what happens when we are taken up is we are alienated. We're taken away from the group. Here's a little image that I found. This is understanding the social alienation and isolation schema. Now, I'm not, I don't want to get into that, but I like this image.
So when you're taken up to the realm of the gods, you are now apart from humanity. You are now apart from the collective human experience. You were so unique that you were set apart, somehow taken apart, taken away. You see how the tension of the collective versus the individual is also baked into the image of a human being so special and so unique that they're taken away from humanity and brought into the realm of the gods.
This is, of course, also echoing the tension of the signs of Aquarius and Leo, which bring things together, like the king and the people. The king set apart, the queen set apart, the people, the collective that they serve. Right? There's a tension between the individual and the group, and Aquarius highlights the tension between the individual and the group by showing us a picture in its mythology of a special human, so special that he's taken away from the other humans and brought to a higher world.
Now, another picture of Ganymede that I thought was interesting, you can literally see Ganymede being taken up into the sky by the eagle. Looks like an alien abduction. Okay, just a few images that I wanted to show you there. This is part of the constellational mythology of Aquarius, but it's also related to the elements of Aquarius in the Zodiac. For example, the seasonal symbolism of Aquarius is very important.
The seasonal symbolism of Aquarius has to do with the story, the dance of light and dark, that is the solar year. Every sign's most fundamental level of organization is derived from the alternation of light and dark that constitutes the solar year. That's where the logic behind the planetary rulership placements, everything is derived from. So when we have Aquarius season, this is symbolic. It's not literal, it's not causal, it's symbolic. It's derived symbolism from the seasons as seen from the northern hemisphere. But again, just think of these as symbolic, not literal. It doesn't matter which hemisphere you're in, you can access this language wherever you are.
So in the middle of the winter, every season has three parts: a cardinal, fixed, and mutable sign, or an ancient astrology, tropical, solid, and double-bodied. We get to Aquarius, and we are in the portion of the winter in which the light has started rising again in Capricorn. So we're getting Yang emerging out of Yin dominance. Yin is dominant from Libra through Pisces, meaning there's more darkness in the 24-hour period than there is light. But from Capricorn through Pisces, the light is rising out of the darkness. And so we think about this as the half of the year within which Yang is rising out of dominance.
So when Yang is rising out of Yin dominance, one of the things you have to remember is that Yin was thought of as the Earth. Yang was thought of as the light of the celestial, numinous, archetypal, the realm of the day, the archive, the gods, the light of spirit. And so when light is rising out of darkness, it represents those thoughts and ideas that are gradually taking us out of something more earthy, more Yin, more grounded, and upward, which is why Pisces is such an interesting sign. Because Pisces is a sign rooted in a tremendous surge of light, and yet it's a double-bodied feminine sign.
Makes it one of the most interesting signs of the zodiac, because in many ways, Pisces is one of the most charismatic and Yang-like signs, although it's deeply feminine and romantic. So you get a lot of charismatic, romantic, sensitive, feminine, emotional qualities in Pisces. But it's aspirational. It's light-based. It's moving upward. This is why the sign of Pisces had the two tails of the fish tied together, one swimming upward and eastward, the other downward and westward, showing that we're wrestling with the Yin as the light is emerging. So it's a very restless, passionate, emotional sign.
Anyway, every sign has its basic meaning derived from the play of light and dark, though that's the point, and they're also interesting and nuanced. With Aquarius, we're talking about the steady, every Fixed sign solidifies what the season is doing. The spring season is gradually... it's growing from, or the... excuse me, the winter season is growing from darkness into light. By the end, the handover to the light half of the year takes place at the end of Pisces, so in Aquarius, the light emerging that was established with Capricorn is now being steadily carried forward.
So you have the slow, progressive rising of Yang from within Yin. And for ancient astrologers, that slow rising toward the distant apex of light and spirit was associated with Saturn, because Saturn sits at the edge, the distant edge of the visible cosmos, beyond which lies the realm of the gods. The realm of the Divine, the numinous, the gods are... you know, the gods and their domain, their rulership over the domain of Earth and karma and material fortune takes place within the bounds of Saturn. Outside the bounds of Saturn lay this numinous, otherworldliness that was associated with the light in the mind of God.
And so when the light is slowly rising toward that distant apex of the summer solstice, the maximum embodiment of light, the gradual reaching up toward that distant, numinous realm, was associated with Saturn. This is very important, because Saturn was a planet that was associated with mysticism and with contemplatives and scholars and hermits and people who spent their time focused on otherworldly things. And in some ways, could find themselves at odds with or polarized with the world. And many mystics actually condemned the world historically, not all, but... so to be focused on otherworldly things will sometimes come at the cost of this world.
We have talked about that tension within the sign of Aquarius, and the potential for that tension to be problematic, as Pluto moves through Aquarius many times on my channel already.
So the seasonal symbolism of Aquarius is such that it is taking us towards something higher, loftier, more ethereal, distant. This is where we also get number three, Saturn and solid air. So I just mentioned the piece about Saturn, but solid air is also about taking us into a realm that's higher. So you see how the sign, the myth of the sign, the light and dark play of the year in the sign, the rulership of Saturn and the element of air are all kind of wrapped together in the story about humanity progressing towards some higher, distant ideal plane.
This is why the sign is often associated with progressive visions of the future, humanitarianism, global concerns and arguments and debates about what constitutes progress versus regression, questions about what is our highest potential, technology that can take us forward, all of these kinds of things. Yeah. So it follows that insofar as we think of ourselves as unique and special, and we try to ascend to a higher platform, we try to become more godlike, we naturally project onto that sign, or we may naturally experience with transits to that sign, encounters with higher life, with higher life forms, with higher thought forms.
And so it becomes a natural preoccupation of the sign to think about what we could be, or how special we could be, or how advanced we could be. And so there's this way in which we think, well, maybe there's advanced forms of life out there that we are advanced enough to find or meet or encounter or be taught by, or maybe even abducted by, all right. And so this kind of airy, upward and outward movement is interesting, but remember, there are issues with alienation and separation that come with this sign. I'll mention those in a minute that could be unconscious parts of the alien obsession. So we have to be a little careful about that. I'll mention those a little bit later.
Number four, when we get into the combination of Pluto with this sign, I think we have to start wondering about the underworld of the sky. What does the underworld of a fixed air sign look like? That was associated with, you know, Olympus and the place of the gods, the Ganymede is taken up to that. That gets really interesting. And Pluto is a... whatever sign it goes through, Pluto exposes us to the depths of that sign, to the underworld, the subterranean and the unconscious.
So what does the underworld of the sky look like? I think that one of the things about aliens that is very Plutonian is that we all naturally are fascinated with the potential to discover or make contact with alien life, other life. But then we wonder what unconsciousness that contact may put us in touch with, what of our own unconsciousness as human beings, as a species, might we come to see because of the alien life, or what shadows might we discover that exist in the cosmos like an, you know, galactic evil empire, you know? I mean, it's like Star Wars. We were like, well, what if we find out that there's a lot of evil out there? What if? What if we find something and we're threatened by it? So there's natural fears that we project, sort of Plutonian fears that we project onto aliens, like becoming bad guys or something, and that's where a bit of that literal abduction fear comes in, and the paranoia and stuff like that around aliens could be appropriate for Pluto and Aquarius, because we're thinking about the darkness, the demonic that might exist in the upper world of the sky.
That's why there is so much fear and paranoia and obsession and excitement. You know, Pluto is a life giving planet, insofar as what's in the underworld is rich and fertile, and it powers our imagination to get in contact with Plutonian things. And the more that the imagination is empowered, the more that the spirit feels alive, the soul feels seen. I mean, it is Pluto is life giving in that sense. That's why its name, Pluto means riches, and Hades is a powerful place. So the underworld of the sky might have to do with our unconscious, unrecognized potential, or our unconscious shadows. And I think we with aliens, we all suspect that a discovery could provoke just that kind of encounter. And so there's a lot of good reasons for associating Pluto and Aquarius, Aquarius with alien phenomenon, but also Pluto and Aquarius with the intrigue, the taboo, the unconscious. What will we see in the mirror of another being or another species? What because others hold a mirror up to us. So those are some of the reasons why we see the sign of Aquarius, associated with aliens, and then Pluto. More specifically, there are five things to think about that I think are important, and this might just be the way I think about it, you know. So you may have a whole different set of things that you know you consider to be important when it comes to this topic. These are just the things that came to my mind in my meditation and sitting down and preparing this talk in what I thought would, you know, be most fascinating for people to consider so. It, you know, take from it. What you will number one, what if? And then we're just going to have fun here. What if aliens are actually closer than we think? Okay, let me explain the basic idea of an alien. Might be beings from another planet. But what if? What if aliens are extra dimensional beings that are have always been here, but that it's a species of life as of yet unrecognized. You know we, in other words, you ever seen those Planet Earth shows? I love those shows. I've mentioned them before. They go down. There's one of them in the original BBC Earth, DVDs. Oh, my God, DVDs. It was called aliens of the deep, and it was all of these crazy, interesting aquatic animals that like fish and that they live in the deepest, darkest parts of the ocean. And I remember the commentator saying, there are, there are such depths in the ocean that absolutely, it's the case that we have not charted or are not aware of many forms of life that live deep in the ocean. Of course, that's come up recently with aliens, right? So maybe they're in the ocean. But my point is actually to riff off from that idea that they may be here on Earth, which is just to say that there may be more profound kinds of beings and contact with beings available to us through our consciousness here on Earth, I want to show you a picture. Let me just explain why I find this so compelling. Personally, even if you're like you're out to lunch, you know, when I was drinking Ayahuasca for about 10 years of my life as a regular spiritual kind of discipline, I guess you could call it, and I learned a lot about shamanism in the Peruvian Amazon. First of all, one thing that occurred to me right away is that plants are aliens that we are not aware of as sentient beings, elders on our planet. Maybe you think I'm out to lunch, just hear me. Hear me out. Because when you work with entheogens, and frankly, my wife will tell you this because she's an herbalist, when you work with plants, they will talk with you. When you work with tinctures, when you work with the leaves, the roots, the vines, the barks, when you work with medicines that are made by indigenous people all over this planet for 1000s of years, you will find that if you commune with plants and treat them as though they are sentient beings capable of communicating, you will find out that that's exactly what they are. I believe that so deeply I could never not believe that after 10 years of work with Ayahuasca where, and I would say most people I know who have worked with Ayahuasca or any kind of plant based entheogen over a long enough period of time, will tell you that the plant kingdom is filled with sentient life, and it's weird, because it's not just one spirit. It's not like there is one spirit of a plant. There are many, just like there's many humans, there's many plants. They might I mean, you know, I'm Caucasian. There might be a lot of Caucasian looking people, but they're all different. There might be a lot of, you know, stinging nettles, but when you work with nettles as a medicine, you'll find that each plant during each season is also unique, as unique as each individual person,
there are characteristics that plant spirits share in common, but right now, the honest to god feeling is that, wouldn't it be one of the most groundbreaking discoveries ever If we started validating the existence of conscience, sentient spirits that can communicate, that are alive in plants. There's an alien that's right there. It's right in front of us. And by alien, I don't mean you know, spinning saucers and but I believe that that would be just as much a breakthrough in terms of the discovery of another species of life that many traditions around our planet have acknowledged the existence of this right here. And by the way, most traditions that I've ever studied, I'm not aware of all of them, but most of them will say that plants are elders, meaning they're like the trees are older than us. The plants are older than us. They're like our big, wise grandparents. I mean, Ayahuasca is sometimes literally referred to as grandmother. And so this is a painting by Pablo amoringo and ayahuasca, who paints his visions. And I also want to point out that in addition to plants themselves, opening up a. A line of communication to sentient intelligence that lives all around us. Also it opens up communication with many other beings, psychedelics and entheogens, far from being just about hallucinations, which I know a lot of people think that that's what it is, have provided us with visions of other forms of life and communication with other forms of life, celestial, terrestrial, otherworldly, for a very long time. And I just want to point out that hovering right above the Ayahuasca rose in this painting, and you will see this in many of amor INGOs paintings, is a kind of spaceship. I know it might sound out to lunch like now we're watching ancient aliens with Adam. But I'm not kidding when I tell you that I had at least 40 ceremonies. I had well over 100 but at least, maybe even close to half of them where there was very clear communications with other forms of life that I would I don't know, because these encounters are often brief and enigmatic, but oftentimes these beings are working on the bodies and minds and spirits of people who are in the ceremonies from the standpoint of facilitating healing. And so it's not like you're just sitting down and having coffee together, but my sense is that there are many, many beings that travel in consciousness without material form or some other kind of body, in these other dimensions. I know that might sound again, pretty, woo, woo, but my psychedelic experiences have shown me this or convinced me of this to a level that I'll never be able to be unconvinced, though, because of the experience and the nature of the experiences. And I'm sure many people have had those experiences without any kind of entheogen. But the point I'm trying to make is that aliens may be closer than we think, in the sense that there are, there's a whole realm or order of beings that are not necessarily materialized beings in the way that you and I are, and also beings that are all around us, like plants, that are also highly sentient and have tech, technological capacities in their bodies that are far beyond what we understand. Like the Amazon is a virtual, un unexplored and unimaginatively explored pharmacy for real healing. So anyway, those are things that I think we could think about with Pluto and Aquarius as being part of the discovery. It may not be exactly what we think it is. It could be something that's closer at hand that we than we imagine, not that it would be all unproblematic to discover or tap into. Either they're in these realms, there are all sorts of dark entities. And it's not just, I mean, there's a whole tradition of protection, guardianship around these ceremonies and facilitating them. It's not, it's a bit like the bar in Star Wars, where there's just a lot of gnarly creatures, and then there's Jedi, you know. So anyhow, the other thing I want to communicate is the idea that aliens might be us. Now I can, I can only communicate today is just, I'm putting my tin foil hat on, so join me, or, you know, turn me off if I'm really freaking you out here, but I had an experience in an Ayahuasca ceremony once. There's actually a movie that came out very recently that was very much like this experience, so not nearly as like literal and prolonged and, you know, dramatic. It's called, I think it was called my old ass, something like that. Anyway, it's about a girl. I highly recommend the movie. It was fun, it was funny, it was heartwarming. It's about a young woman who, on our 18th birthday, has a mushroom trip, and during the mushroom trip encounters the like 38 year old version of herself or something that's like her future self and her get to commune. Well, I had contact one time with a voice. I'll call it a voice, because it wasn't like a person or an image. It was a presence, and it was telling me all sorts of stuff. And I thought that it was like a guardian angel. And by the end, I had this realization that it was a future version of myself, like 50 years old, 60 years old, can I prove that? No, not at all. Can't prove that at all. Have no idea if that's actually what it was or not, and I'm not afraid to admit that, because I don't know. But I had a very deep, you know, enlightening pep talk, and at the end, when I was like, Who is this? It was just a realization, this is you. It's just a version of you that you've not embodied in linear time yet, but is always present, like all versions of ourselves exist already. That was the idea behind it, which I don't know. I guess when you're when you're high in the jungle, it all makes sense, like that. Take my word for it. Ha, but anyhow, so that was, I mean, in other words, taking from that, is it possible? Is it I mean, wouldn't the most sci fi interesting thing be to me? Is it possible that aliens, in some way, are a a future version of ourselves. I like to think about things like this, because sometimes I think we get too literal about what alien life might be. I mean, do I believe that there's probably alien life, there's other life forms in the cosmos? Of course, I feel like it's so unimaginative to think otherwise with given how big it all is, right? We're not we're not the only life. That just seems absurd to me. But could I also see a scenario in which we go through a period of time in which we become obsessed with a projected future image of ourselves that we think is alien, that is actually us? I think, for example, the fact that AI is coming around right now, and we're asking questions about how conscious it can be, what kind of consciousness it is, and it's something we've created. This is a similar kind of echo chamber and mirror phenomenon that I think could be present in Alien life. It's as though alien life is an A great collective experience of precognition play with it. I mean, what else are we doing right now? We might as well have fun and think about stuff like this, right? I mean, come on, life's too short to not have fun with it, all right. Number three is aliens could be oracular. So I think another possibility would be that during Pluto's stay in Aquarius, more and more people become fascinated by something like astrology, among other things, divination of any kind of the Tao, the I, ching, whatever the case might be, there is a way in which we have yet to be taken seriously divination. I mean, broadly speaking, the community, the field of divination all around the planet, historically, for 1000s of years, empirically minded modern people have not really taken divination seriously. What would happen if they did? Would we discover that, for example, when I do a reading and someone brings a context in, and I would say, suddenly I'm following Hermes, there's an intuitive, live kind of magic that starts to take hold, and I start seeing pathways of reading symbols which I can use to predict things, describe things. It's amazing. It's not, you know, it's it's not, doesn't happen every single time. Some readings are just a little clunky. Maybe that that live electrical feeling isn't quite it's not as radically charged in every single reading, but when it's there, it's on readers, our work is to figure out how to connect with that radicality in every session, and a lot of that has to do with the lifestyle of a diviner and the practice of divination, as opposed to the employment of technique. But could we discover that these the intelligence behind or within oracular divinatory systems is another form of life is evidence of an animistic universe in which the cosmos is sentient and can speak. That would be, in a sense, alien. It's right in front of us,
but that kind of thinking is alien to us right now. Do you see what I mean? Number four, now, if we discovered some literal form of life from a different part of the we had contact, or whatever, even if it was like plant life or the existence of some interesting squid on a moon of Jupiter. Whatever you know, whatever the case might be, aliens could also shift our thinking on a great number of topics. Many people who believe that humans are the center of the universe in an old, outworn kind of a form of hubris could be dismantled right when we say we're not alone, we're not it. There's more just that expansion of our minds, the humility, the curiosity, the openness, could do great things, maybe slowly, maybe over a long period of time, but mean paradigmatic changes happen, and when the sun was the center, not the earth, what a huge change. But imagine going from the sun being at the center, not the earth, to humans not being the highest form of life, or the only form of life. What would that do? How would that shift? Imagine that someone came and scolded us for not. In direct communication with Mother Earth, who is a sentient, spiritual being that they remind us we can talk to and maybe even show us old technologies We've parted ways with since slaughtering all of the indigenous people. I laugh, but only because it's so unfortunate. It's like, what if aliens came and were like, yeah, some of your best wisdom was like, 30,000 years ago, and you guys have been getting progressively dumber. I don't know, right? But like, what if that was the case? What would that, you know? Wow. So there are so many ways that we can't even anticipate how our thinking, our religious, our spiritual, our intellectual, or cultural or governmental structures and and or how we would evolve in relation to the discovery of a life form or contact and communication with a life form. This alone makes something like Pluto in Aquarius really provocative and exciting. Finally, alienation and obsession with aliens may go together. By that, what I mean is that, let's go back to this little picture here, in a day and age that is becoming progressively more technological. There is a weird phenomenon, and this started happening, I would say, when Neptune was in Aquarius in the late 90s, in that first decade of the 2000s where we are all increasingly being connected globally by something like the internet. I'm going to keep it real simple. It real simple here, while we are simultaneously being alienated from one another in personal, human physical contact due to the same technology that's uniting us on a different level, Aquarius is a sign that often deals with the tension between what brings us together and what pulls us apart, the Saturnian relationship to the opposition. The aspect in Astrology that Saturn is associated with is big, the individual that stands apart. Well, when human beings, when we practice human exceptionalism, we start thinking about, what is the highest potential for humans? What are the biggest technologies? You know, how can we build and develop civilization? Oftentimes, that exceptionalism alienates us from nature, in which case we are separate from the aliens in the plant kingdom, we're separate from the alien life we've yet to understand because we don't know or we've forgotten how to communicate with animals, right, that kind of thing. So the alienation that we're experiencing, although we think we're coming together more through technology and there's more of a global reality that's taking place through technology and civilizing forces and so forth, we may actually feel farther and farther apart from one another, more and more isolated, in which case, the obsession with some other form of life becomes a kind of unconscious shadow projection. We're, of course, as dissociated as we are. We get paranoid about something like Alien Abduction because we have been abducted by our own alienating capacity as human beings. So there's a very interesting play with our own shadows around the topic of alienation and the obsession with literal aliens. And I think if we're not careful about that, if we're not if we don't stay aware of that, there are going to be ways in which this topic becomes a kind of confrontation with our own darkness, and I do believe that the universe is happy to facilitate that in all of its immeasurable depth. So deep things can come from deep space, from deep air. I'm going to leave it there for today. I hope this was fun and interesting. Hope you got some laughs. I hope you considered things that are, you know, wacko tutti fruity, and that you're we've tickled the fancy for everyone's alien obsession, right? I've gotten so many questions about this since I did that webinar, and like I said, I'm going to run a little bonus video on the 2020, video I did on aliens that I think you'll find interesting, because that one goes into greater depth about some of the history of aliens and UFOs and stuff like that with the sign of Aquarius.
