Hey everyone, this is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology, and today, we're going to take a look at the astrology of September and see what's ahead for us. We're going to go through all of the major transits of the month at a good clip; we're not going to spend time laboring on each one because the point is to sort of introduce you to the transits. Give you a basic feel for what they will entail.
Then, throughout the month, if you watch my channel, we end up breaking those transits down and sometimes doing several videos for each transit depending on, you know, how big or how long they are. So this is just to give you an overview of what's coming in the month ahead, and if you keep watching the channel, you get to see us break down each of those transits as the month goes on. So that is our goal for today.
Before we get into it, as always, don't forget to like and subscribe. Share your comments in the comment section. Tell us what you think about these transits. Or come back later and tell us how you're actually experiencing them. You can find a transcript of any of my daily talks on the website nightlightastrology.com. So, when you go over to the website, by the way, check out all of our readings and courses. If you have any questions about what you find there, you can email us at info@nightlightastrology.com.
Okay, well, let's go ahead and get into it. We are going to I'm gonna go ahead and put up the real time clock, and we will walk through the major transits of September. Now, a lot of the transits of September due to Venus turning direct and Mercury retrograding and then turning direct are going to be happening as repeat transits. These are transits that have already come through and are now going to come through again.
So, on September 3, the first big event of the month, is that Venus will turn direct. So you can see this right here, you'll see a little s under Venus at the beginning of the month. So there is Venus stationing to turn direct, and that's the big that's the kind of big first news of September is Venus now is in direct motion.
Which usually will come at a time when you'll start to notice that things that have been in process are turning a corner, and if you've been through a process of revision and break down and rebirth all words to describe a retrograde, you'll notice that things are getting patched back together. Starting with Venus turning direct or whatever planet was during direct, we're going to have Mercury turning direct later in the month.
On September 4, Mercury's retrograde will reach a point, and you'll notice that Mercury's retrograde will take it through a trine to Jupiter on September 4. Now, this is a nice transit, an earthy Mercury Retrograde that's combust but protected from combustion through being in its own chariot. It's exalted, it's in own dignity, trying to benefic Jupiter; you might find that you're able to see the big picture or that you're able to problem solve that you're finding helpful people or influences and energies to work with at this time.
You think of Earth as forming things and taking ideas or feelings and starting to move them around tangibly, and so you have a really nice connection here between Mercury and Jupiter that is practical, effective, useful, helpful, beneficial, and especially around communication, words, thoughts, and ideas that can be you know, more constructive and beneficial and also one thing that you know, that quite frequently happens when Mercury trines Jupiter you'll come up with that good idea.
If you are a small business owner, you might come up with a good idea or a positive way of dealing with, like a solution to a problem, especially things around technology. When stuff like that can happen, you can get good news or just receiving an unexpected email that gives you some positive news kind of things that happened with Mercury and Jupiter connecting into a trine.
Now, on the sixth, just a couple of days later, Mercury will reach its cazimi, which is its rebirth moment at the heart of the Sun. This is usually going to be experienced as a very constructive moment, especially since just a couple of days later, the Sun will then transition through a trine to Jupiter, so it's this kind of rebirthing sequence for Mercury hits the trine to Jupiter rebirths at the heart of the Sun, Sun hits the trine to Jupiter, Mercury starts separating and recovering from combustion.
So I look at this as a moment of starting to recover or starting to put things together or starting to working your way through a complex series of problems and coming out with a good solution. Building things effective use of time, money, energy, or resources and putting it together. Especially given that Mercury is going through that transition, it's almost like a reordering or reorganizing or restructuring that's taking place and finding support for that process.
Now, on the 14th, we go forward just a little bit, and we have a New Moon in Virgo. One of the interesting features of this new moon is that it's applying into an opposition with Neptune, and so you get that kind of Earth water mix. A cycle ahead that could be about the balance between the practical, earthy, and sort of structured, you know, grounded qualities of Earth versus the emotional, ethereal, mystical, imaginative, and romantic waters of Neptune in Pisces.
So, it's kind of a push-pull between Earth and water in the cycle ahead. That could be, you know, a little intense of a roller coaster of emotional and romantic feelings or yearnings, mixed with the need to stay grounded and do practical and effective things with our time and energy. So that kind of blend of Earth and water is really strong with the New Moon in Virgo.
The next day after the new moon, interestingly, Mercury will station and turn direct. It's as though the new moon signals that Mercury has finished its work. What I love about this is that on the same day, the Sun will trine Uranus, and so there's just really this strong feeling around the new moon of a kind of breakthrough, and especially, you get the feeling that this, you know when you have such a process depicted in earth signs, and it's overall a very positive process.
But things can take a while; it can be a little tedious, or you might find that little details, and it's taking a while for all of the nuts and bolts to be put in place or for something to be restructured or reordered or organized or that you have the solution. But implementing the solution to the problem is just, you know, just takes a little doing. The Sun trine Uranus right after the new moon could really mark a moment of awakening, rebirth, acceleration of a process, and the feeling of a breakthrough that's taking place.
Now, on September 17, we're going to get and remember we're going to be exploring each of these transits in depth as the month goes on when you get to the 17th, and Venus will be squaring Jupiter. I think this is really fascinating. The Venus square to Jupiter is now coming through for a third time in direct motion early in June of 2023, and then we saw through the retrograde motion Venus contacting Jupiter again in August, and now through direct motion, Venus contacts Jupiter one last time on September 17.
This combination is very benefic. It can be a transit with like expensive tastes, it can be a little grandiose or over the top, it can suggest like, you know, your desire body sort of getting out of control. But it's also honestly it's just a very benefic, romantic, abundant transit that tends to be very supportive, uplifting, pleasurable, and romantic overall.
So I love the combination of Venus and Jupiter, and for most people, I think you'll experience this as a kind of a feeling of upliftment and a feeling of well being and pleasure and attraction and charm and abundance that surrounds it's a very fertile transit as well.
Anyway, going forward just a little bit more, when we reach September 19, the Sun coming off of that new moon will then oppose Neptune, and this is where we get, you know, Sun-Neptune is really quite a mystical transit. It tends to call into question our sense of purpose and demand that somehow we include something transcendent or transcendental, that we are appealing to a higher power, or that we are including a sense of a higher mission and calling into our life path.
Sun-Neptune will also confound us with feelings of pointlessness, or the feeling of being overwhelmed and lost and adrift and confused, and that feeling can also come on as a way of saying that there's something more that we need to be including or considering when it comes to our lives and our direction. So that's a very sign that comes through with the new moon. So that whole process of the lunar cycle ahead includes that kind of Neptunian yearning for something more to be called from Heaven down to Earth, so to speak.
Well, if we go forward just a little bit more on the 21st, we're going to see that the Sun will trine Pluto, and the Sun trine Pluto can be like the Sun's trine to Uranus again, very practical, helpful, and effective. It points to a kind of resourcefulness that we're calling on in this month of September; a lot of Earth energy this month of September.
Sun trine to Pluto on the 21st can point to a need to go deep and to excavate things to be again practical and resourceful, but to include the subterranean that which is dark or unconscious, to bring up and effectively use hidden or subtle energies that are seeking expression or release from a place that's been repressed or pent up. So you can see that and it's a very helpful energy to come in contact with Pluto right now will help us along. Especially removing things that are unwanted or keep holding us back somehow.
On the 25th, a couple of days later, we get Mercury once again, trine to Jupiter. So again, the same kind of helpful, resourceful, intelligent energy that can effectively manage and use time, money, energy, and resources. That energy is back in the air once more, very earthy trine again, now that Mercury is direct. So same thing we said earlier in the month when it comes to solving problems, implementing the solution to a problem, reordering something, or effectively communicating, planning, or strategizing. Really nice, helpful energy around that time.
Although given that the retrograde comes earlier in the month on September 4, you get about three weeks in between where maybe on the first pass, we're looking at something, and at this pass, we're looking at the exact same thing, but from a different angle. So consider the continuity between the fourth and the 25th.
On September 29, we get a full moon in Aries, and that full moon in Aries is not quite in Eclipse yet. But it's coming into the range of eclipse season, and we're going to start getting eclipses in Aries and Libra. So, this Full Moon is really powerful because it's sort of like a primer for eclipses in Aries that are coming. This is September 29.
So, the full moon in Aries also amplifies the tension between Mars in Libra and the full moon in Aries because the host is opposite. So, issues of diplomacy and working out almost like a different order of priorities, negotiations, and relationships, kind of like the full moon almost seems to say you'll be in need of a peace treaty, you know, you'll be in need of like a contract of some sort to be worked out in agreement and understanding, and you'll have to be, you know, it's like it could entail a bit of a power struggle.
So you want to be careful of that with this full moon. Well, we can see some other things in the air on the same day that are suggesting some similar themes. Venus, through direct motion, is now back into the square with Uranus, which has had several previous times through direct and retrograde motion over the summer. Venus Uranus suggests breakthroughs in relationships but also the need to be free from relationships that are binding in some way. You see, that plays into the full moon theme with Mars and Libra.
So severing bonds or challenges around relationships and negotiations and the need to harmonize and seek like a tactful accord, you know, but also the potential to need to break off and go in a different direction, there's revolution and liberation in love, and relationships and negotiations at this time might be a little intense.
Then, finally, on September 30, we also have mercury training Uranus, now again, indirect motion. Again, very earthy, and notice how Mercury is trying to Uranus is happening at the same time that Venus is square and that we have the full moon hosted by Mars in Libra. Now that Mars in Libra is also starting to head into a square with Pluto. So it's like, you know, we're going into some a space where we're going to have to work on finding agreement resolution and peaceful resolution with other people or in situations in our lives that are not easy to negotiate or mediate easily.
So, you know, Mercury's trying to Uranus is welcome insofar as that trine will tend to deliver insights that are practical, effective, intelligent, and represent some kind of breakthrough in our thinking. A solution to a problem again comes to mind; you get so much of the earthy energy over September that it looks like a reordering or reorganizing of, you know, earthy forms and structures with an eye for innovation and doing things differently.
But then, by the end of the month, it's like we might be hitting some choppy waters when it comes to how this reordering is affecting our relationships and whether or not we're able to enact these changes peacefully and in agreement with other people or places. Mercury's trine to Uranus, the very end of the month at least suggests that we are going to have the aid of original and innovative thinking on our side.
So these are some of the major energies of the month as I'm seeing them. Again, the point is to just kind of lay it all out there, spread it out so we can see it all, and then as September unfolds, we'll be going through most of these transits individually and doing deep dives into the archetypal combinations of the planets. So I will look forward to doing that with you in the weeks ahead.
We'll have horoscopes next week, and we'll take a look at some of the biggest transits of September in terms of your Sun and rising sign horoscopes. I think Alex will be with me, hopefully, and so we'll be doing that work together. That'll be on Monday of next week. I hope this gets you prepped for the month ahead. I hope you guys are having a great day and that you have a great weekend. We'll see you again later. Bye.
