It’s the last quarter Moon today.
* With the Moon in her fall in Scorpio and the Sun in its exile in Aquarius, today presents us with the analysis of what is no longer working, of where the problems lie and of how they came to exist.
* With Mars and Saturn hosting the lights right now, and just separating from a square, we are getting a glimpse of the limits of our power or control. If we have over-endeavored, we might be feeling a vague sense of shame from not being able to live up to our own expectations or over-promising.
* Still, a better future is possible if we are willing to look to the future with a clear view of past misdeeds.
* We should be kind to ourselves. It’s human to not like whatever we did five years ago, but now in this instantly archived digital world, it’s five minutes ago. Needing time and space between periods of intense evaluation and scrutiny is healthy. Our goal-oriented thinking often leads to a bad habit of constant criticism. Constant criticism leads to distrust and isolation, which depresses us because we are creatures in need of love. We can’t love if we can’t let many things pass just as they are for as often as we try to “improve.”
* While Scorpio can generate an aura of emotional intensity, Aquarius can try to rationalize or systematize those feelings, which sometimes leads to the intellectual justification of anger, rage, and aggression. It’s actually easier to explore our motivations, to explore our emotional responses, with clarity and honesty, than to build intellectual fortresses out of them.
* During the winter months, when you stand outside and look at things, the most unflattering, muddy, bare, and grey reality stands forth. Seeing things as they are, we can either suffer from a feeling of hopelessness, “it’s just too much to overcome,” or we can get angry and ambitious, “I won’t tolerate this. I will improve and perfect everything.” The third option is to accept that this stark/wintry vision isn’t at all how things are. No more than things are bright, rosy, and innocent in the Spring or perfectly mature and ripe in the Summer. The third option lets things pass and tolerates these changes, which do not last long and yet keep bearing witness to us without ceasing.
* For we know that every season is honest, every season lays bare the truth, in its own time, in its own voice and colors or lack of colors. And so letting go and coming forth do not disturb our minds or hearts but rather remind us of the road we are walking, an eternal path fraught with too much honesty, and far, far too much truth.
Prayer: You are far, far too much. Thank you.
