Hi, everyone, this is Acyuta-bhava from Nightlight Astrology. And today we are going to continue exploring Saturn square to Uranus. This is a major transit. And so as I was thinking about it this morning preparing my talk for today I decided, yeah, I think we need to take an even deeper look at it, there's more layers that can be unpacked. And I think continuing to combine and sort of meditate on this archetypal combination is going to be really helpful for us because even though the exact passage is over, it's going to help to to refresh on it, because you're going to feel the effects of this for at least the next couple of weeks, especially with Mars getting in the mix of all this from the sign of Leo. Yeah, that's our goal for today. And I'm going to let you guys know that I often like to quote passages from a few of my favourite texts. So I've got cosmos and psyche here today. And I want to offer some commentary on a few passages that Richard Tarnas writes about Saturn, and also about Uranus and, and just kind of use it as a diving off point. So that's what we're going to do today.
1:10
Alright, so before we do that, I want to bring up the real time clock and give you a reminder of what this transit is all about. So here, you can see that Saturn is in a square with Uranus, they're both at 13 degrees, they're just separating now, yesterday was their exact configuration, the exact perfect square. And we're going to see that if we push this forward just a little bit, you can see that they're still within a degree of one another here in the next week. And really, they're going to be in this configuration all the way through the beginning of July. And you can see that Mars is going to start getting in on the mix, Venus will start getting in on the mix. So because there's planets that are going to be activating the two, back to back kind of translating the light over and over again, you could say between Saturn and Uranus. We're gonna feel this transit really throughout the summer. Arguably, this is a year of Saturn, Uranus, because they've been so closely configured all year long. And when they're dancing back and forth, you know, it's a process, not just a one, one off event. Let's take a look at what's going to happen later in the year as well. If we go forward to say the very end of the year. Right around December, we're going to see that they come back one more time. And you can see that right about here. So this is let me just back it up so I get the exact days correct here. So here is December 23 and 24, you're going to see Saturn at 11 Aquarius Uranus at 11 Taurus so they're connecting once again. What's interesting about that one is that that Saturn Uranus conjunction is happening at the same time that Venus and Pluto are conjoining as Venus turns retrograde at the very end of the year, so the shakeups of that last Saturn Uranus transit are going to be particularly potent when it comes to relationships, love, sex, romance, friendships, important work, relationships. So relationally things are going to be really rocked by that last Saturn Uranus square. That's something we're going to be spending a lot of time talking about in the month of December of this year. Okay, so anyway, back to the present moment. Again, Saturn has just squared Uranus it's still in you know, in the vicinity probably through mid to late July is when I would say you'll still really be feeling the strongest the strongest dynamism from this transit.

Okay, so you guys know one of my favourite texts cosmos and psyche listened to what Richard Tarnas writes about Saturn, his descriptions are so brilliant. I just love them. "Saturn the principle of limits structure contraction, constraint, necessity, hard materiality, concrete manifestation, time the past tradition, age, maturity, mortality, the endings of things, gravity and gravity toss, weightiness that which burdens binds challenges fortifies deepens the tendency to confine and constrict, to separate to divide and define to cut and shorten, negate and oppose to strengthen and forge through tension resistance to rigidify to repress to maintain a conservative and strict authority to experience difficulty decline, deprivation, defect and deficit, defeat, failure loss, alienation, the labour of existence, suffering, old age, death, the weight of the past the workings of fate, character karma, the consequences of past action, error and guilt, punishment, retribution imprisonment, the sense of no exit, pessimism inferiority inhibition, isolation. Depression and depression, the impulse and capacity for discipline and duty order, solitude, concentration conciseness thoroughness and precision, discrimination and objectivity, restraint and patience, endurance, responsibility, seriousness, authority and wisdom. The harvest of time, effort and experience the concern with consensus reality, factual, concreteness, conventional forms and structures, foundations boundaries, solidity and stability, security and control, rational organisation efficiency law right and wrong judgement, the super ego, the dark, cold, heavy, dense, dry, old, slow, distant, the Senex Kronos, the stern father of the gods."
5:45
Wow, it's just amazing how he can string those descriptions together. Now, listen to what he says about Uranus, which I've read before, but let's read it again. "Uranus is associated with the principle of change, rebellion, freedom, liberation, reform and revolution the unexpected breakup of structures with sudden surprises, revelations and awakenings, lightning like flashes of insight, the acceleration of thoughts and events with births and new beginnings of all kind with intellectual brilliance, cultural innovation, technological invention, experiment, creativity and originality. In addition to the occurrence of sudden breakthroughs and liberating events, Uranus transits are linked to unpredictable and disruptive changes hence the planet is often referred to as the cosmic trickster. Another set of themes associated with Uranus as a concern with the celestial and the cosmic astronomy and astrology, science and esoteric knowledge with space travel and aviation. With respect to personal character Uranus is regarded as signifying the rebel and innovator awakener, individualist, dissident, eccentric, restless, wayward, these various qualities are considered to be so pronounced in persons born with the prominent Uranus and express so conspicuously in a person's life during Uranus transit, there seems to have been no sic significant disagreements among astrological authorities."
7:10
If you just take that in a few times, like, relisten to those descriptions a few times, and then you think those two gods are meeting through a square, what is a square a square is an aspect that is of the nature of Mars, God of conflict, God of confrontation got of action. So these two planets are coming together right now to form action in our lives, to form a certain kind of conflict, that could be a creative conflict that's very purposeful, very helpful, it could be a conflict that's very challenging. It could be a conflict that's expressed internally or externally, in different areas of our lives simultaneously, or in one more specifically, usually, you get a sense for that by looking at the whole sign houses that these planets are operating in, in your chart. But more broadly speaking, I want to go through another list of different things that I think we can watch for. Now, yesterday, I spoke a lot about the principle of negation, and trying to be free from things that we don't like, disagree with, that there's that there's a natural process in defining ourselves in contrast to that which we oppose or resist, in order to be free of something we oppose or resist it within ourselves, there is a period of time in our life where it's very natural to need to almost vehemently reject or oppose something, I'm not a drinker anymore. You might get if you're if you've just gotten married, and you've really taken commitment seriously, you might be really annoyed with people who who are non committal or something like that. So this is a natural part of what can come up with a Uranus Saturn dynamic, and I dove very deeply into it in yesterday's video. What I want to talk about today are kind of more of a mishmash of things that you can look for.
9:05
For example, right now in your life, when we when we think about the principle of maturity that Saturn relates to wisdom, discipline, maturity, the kind of things that come through hard work and and long effort and patience and growth over a long period of time consistent effort over a long period of time. In fact, in the yoga sutras of Patanjali, he says that in order for yoga to work, it has to be done in all earnestness, you know, consistently, like every day over a very long period of time, without interruption. So that's, in a sense, it's very Saturnian statement. It's like there's very little in life that gives its deepest rewards or, strangely, some of the more fluid things that come creatively or artistically athletically take this kind of long, long period of focused practice and structured disciplined, you know, work and effort. So what I really like about the Saturn Uranus dynamic is the way that so much freedom comes in our life, whether it's freedom of mind, whether it is, you know, freedom in an artistic medium, or even freedom as an astrologer, the same thing that I feel looser and freer, more able to improvise and make lucid kind of easy connections or associations and a chart that I'm reading, because of a long period of discipline, study focus times where it felt, you know, like, just is the work ever going to end. So, with with responsible, focused effort comes freedom comes breakthroughs. If you're practising, practising, practising, then all of a sudden, one day, you find that you can do something without even having to think about it. So the Saturn Uranus dynamic watch for it right now in your life, in terms of breakthroughs that you're experiencing, because of long, concentrated periods of working on something. Don't be surprised if that comes up.
11:23
Similarly, some of the most original inventive ideas don't come just through one spontaneous moment of revelation or insight. Instead, I mean they can come that way. But if you think about Saturn, Uranus from the standpoint of that you're, you're chipping away at a problem, you're slowly contemplating it, you know, it's like, slowly, you know, walking around, if you're, if your problem is like an object and you put it in the middle of a room, you might spend days or weeks sort of, slowly circumambulating it, you might spend time, you know, pondering it, turning it over, kind of chewing it, chewing the chewed, you know, over and over, doesn't feel like you're getting anywhere, and then boom, out of nowhere. It's like a lightning strike. There's an opening there's an inspiration there's an idea, but you can't say that the circumambulating of the problem for a long time and getting no results wasn't somehow a precursor to that lightning strike coming through that Saturn Uranus I have a breakthrough. Oh no, now I have a problem or a limit or a block Oh, there's another breakthrough up now there's another limit or a block that feeling of two steps forward one step back two steps forward one step back, it's very Saturn Uranus, you can watch for that right now.
12:49
If you think about the need to take risks versus the need to do things in a really measured careful way. That combination is Saturn Uranus. If you think of Saturn Uranus as the sudden grounding or clipping of wings or loss of freedom, versus the sudden defying of limits, sudden breakthrough of previous problems, with alternation between the two can happen, sudden loss of freedom versus sudden transcendence. There can be unexpected disruptions, breakdowns, delays, or there can be unexpected breakthroughs. There can also be because of this, there can be this feeling that progress is steady. If we tend to have more of a manic mindset about you know how progress looks or feels, this transit can help us to recognise that you know, the work is never done. So if we're seeking that once and forever breakthrough, there maybe is a little bit of an escapist mentality that we have to overcome. And right now, Saturn might be saying, breakthroughs will always come in so will limits. They alternate because they're like the Tao, filling a cup and emptying a cup. How do we relate to both seasons in our lives, especially when they come in rapid succession. I also like to think about the fact that sometimes it feels in life like we've reached a new level of personal maturity. And then we get this this breakthrough that comes as a result of having reached a new level of saturnine maturity. For example, in my practice, I often see people who have difficult signatures in their Natal charts around marriage or relationships. And they go they'll ask me, like, you know, I've gotten into a relationship with someone new and I'm just worried that the pattern will repeat from old relationships. And I'll say, Well, does it feel that way are you just just, you know, you're worried about it, because you know that there's some difficult stuff in your natal chart? No, it doesn't feel that way. It doesn't have to be that way, then. Our Natal charts may say that we're going to encounter certain kinds of challenges in our lives. But as we grow, and we learn lessons and we change, we make better choices, we understand ourselves better, we make healthier choices when it comes to partners, and then suddenly, a Uranus, Saturn transit, or one of the two might come along to something in your chart, and you suddenly feel as though I've grown, and the result I'm getting is evidence of my growth, do all of my problems in the world go away? No. But I have worked my way to a new level of success or accomplishment in some area of my life, because I've taken the lessons and I've integrated them. And so now I've accomplished something that is, you know, it's surprising, I can't believe that I've accomplished something that you know, in the past I really wasn't capable up. So you're in a Saturn dynamic, potentially, we each have an inner voice of authority. Sometimes people call it the super ego, that inner kind of taskmaster, the voice of should and ought that could be either, you know, hard on us or helpful to us, depending on what its tone of voice is, like how often it appears that appears in the right circumstances, this is a great moment to recalibrate the voice of inner authority, which will obviously show up in the external world too, in terms of if we stick up for ourselves, or if we have good boundaries, or if we exercise our authority in the workplace properly or with our kids or, you know, in our relationships, recalibrating the voice of inner authority, do I tend to resist authority, you know, in some kind of principled way, which is essentially saying that I have a kind of authority, authority, and almost like an authoritarian complex about authority. That's a that's a tricky one to deal with, when there's almost like a rigid, authoritarian resistance to our own authority or to anyone's authority. And usually my experience, reading charts, it seems to come from trauma seems to come from real abuses of authority that either we've committed or that someone around us has committed some healing with the relationship to your the healing of the inner authority or to authority figures.
17:48
And there should be some balance in our lives between the respect that we give to authority figures on the one hand, and sort of reverence, if they're good, healthy authority figure, we all need some, I just my opinion, but whether it's teachers, mentors, therapists, you know, a boss or someone we look up to who's who's really good at something that we're also studying or whatever. We need people that we can look up to as authority figures, we also need to be careful that we don't put authority figures on a pedestal that we recognise that authority figure serves an archetypal role in my psyche, but that role is you know, we don't make people we don't idolise people in the process, because you're in a Saturn will come along, and if we've idolised someone or something, rather than having a healthy relationship to different authority figures in our lives, which means accepting that the most authority figures you know, we're going to have are human and they're full of mistakes and problems. And if we have that kind of healthy relationship to authority figures, we'll have a healthier relationship to our own authority internally, we won't feel that we have to be perfect, internally, if we allow for authority figures in our lives in different areas of our lives, to also play their role and be human at the same time. So you know, the right relationship to authority, that's something that can come up with Saturn, Uranus.
19:22
I also like the idea of, you know, the super ego for people is often associated with God. And ultimately, what kind of figure is the divine in the psyche, this divine being this, this divine source of all things. And to me, if you take a personal approach to relating with the divine, then it's very important that the divine not just be an authority figure. Not just be someone who knows more, who's in control of things, who has tasks or tests for you. It's an important that the more that your spiritual relationship with source evolves so to speak, the more that one should be able to recognise and sort of respect the way that the divine shows up in moments of authority, law giver, Judge, father or mother, someone above us that we surrender to in terms of knowledge or control or what we ought to do or something like that, but that as we go, we should be cultivating friendship, you know, the highest levels of bhakti romantic love. So it's important because our spiritual life is not likely to survive if the only way we conceptualise the divine is in terms of a taskmaster, a test giver, a judge, a moral judge, on authority, a controller, there are those elements to the divine, they're archetypal, all archetypes are aspects of the Divine. But there's God as friend, God has lover goddess child. This is why we have you know, baby Jesus, baby Krishna, we have, you know, there's, there's always been attempts to articulate the presence of the Divine in relationships that are other than just an authority figure.
21:31
Sometimes we're going to run into real problems, if we don't look for other kinds of relationships, in our lives, with divinity, with spirituality, with the voice of God within. At the same time, if we're totally allergic, completely allergic and angry and resistant to divinity as an authority, a judge, a guide, a tester, you know, on authority, that there's there, we have to make peace with that and find right relationship to that as well. Because really, what we're looking for is a sensitive relationship to all the different relational aspects of divinity. Okay, turning the page a little bit.
22:22
We don't want Saturn Uranus to turn into repression of youth, the young creativity or originality, we don't want it to turn into white knuckled hyper responsibility. We don't want it to turn into like, freedom for oneself while repressing or actively opposing others and trying to limit others, which is a weird paradox or contradiction that can happen with Saturn Uranus. With great freedom comes great responsibility. That's kind of a Saturn Uranus dynamic. If someone is resistant to change to growth, to evolution, that's the Saturn Uranus dynamic. At the same time, if someone is completely resistant to the discipline, or maturity needed to actually evolve and grow and make any kind of creative impulse, substantive and lasting, those are balancing, back and forth. Routine versus breaking the routine, pressure, and constriction versus breakthrough. So now, we're gonna come back to this in the next couple of weeks, probably again, but Mars is like, Whoa, so we've got all of this cooking, it's a crock pot, it might be a pressure cooker, you know, and then we're gonna throw in a bunch of jalapeno. We're gonna throw in Mars, the god of war and action and intensify the whole thing. For the next three to four weeks. Venus will get in there too. But at the end of all this Venus and Mars conjoin in Leo. And there does to me there seems to be that there's going to be resolution and I think, a lot of creative and personal breakthroughs that come through these dynamics. I'm really encouraged by this overall, I can assure you I'm experiencing it personally, I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to hear your stories in the chat box today. How have you been noticing these two dynamics at work in your life? Tell us some of your stories in the chat box. And I look forward to continuing to break this transit down in the weeks ahead. I think I will probably do a couple probably maybe later this week. Even I might do a walk through the 12 houses again just to refresh. Where is Saturn and Uranus according to your rising sign and what house topics are they activating? Right now, so we'll probably do that too. Alright, that's what I've got. Hope you guys have a great day and I look forward to more soon. Bye, everyone.
