Hey, everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology. Happy Monday, everybody. Today, we're going to take a look at this week's lunar eclipse in the sign of Pisces. We'll be taking some time with this today and tomorrow. I think there are a number of different features that really stand out, and I think we're going to look at those today in order to help us unpack and understand the nature of this particular eclipse a little bit more. So that's our agenda for today.
As always, don't forget to like and subscribe. We are very close now. We're just about 1000 subscribers away from 70,000. Our goal was to get there by the Fall Equinox. That's still a chance that we could do it. Maybe it'll take us a little bit longer, but we'll see if we can get there. If you're new to the channel, or you regularly listen and you're not and you're not yet subscribed, it's free to do so. It helps us grow our channel and community. We really appreciate everyone who's been helping us grow the channel lately since we decided to do this little 70,000 push. Big. Thanks.
Transcripts of any of my daily talks can be found on the website, nightlight astrology.com, and just a couple of promos today before we get into it, taking you over to the website. Don't forget that we have another webinar this week on Thursday night. You can join me for a talk on Venus's 12 love languages. This is a talk on Venus's sign placement in your birth chart and the kind of stories and karma that are unique to the sign placement of Venus in your birth chart.
So you can show up to that. It's Thursday night, seven to 9pm Eastern time. If you can't make it live, we give you the recording. So check that out. We did the eighth house last month. That was a great talk, and it was very well attended. So check that out. Those are some of the events coming up. And then, of course, our first-year course, Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic, is now open. Enrollment is open now, and the pre-enrollment sale lasts until October 15, so you can save some money if you register starting November 16.

All right, now let's turn our attention to this eclipse. I'm going to put the real-time clock up. Here it is. And here is today, Monday, September 16. The moon is in the sign of Pisces, and so it is in the process of applying within about 14 degrees to the full moon. Let's play this out. If we go forward a day from right now, Tuesday, September 17, we'll see that the moon is full, and that is our lunar eclipse. The north node is in Aries, making this an out-of-sign Eclipse, but it's still a potent lunar eclipse.
So, lunar eclipses always have a full moon, and solar eclipses always have a new moon. So this is a lunar eclipse, and today, what we're going to do is break down some of the major features of this eclipse because that is going to help us understand its meaning.
One thing I highly recommend doing is going back to the beginning of the month. If you haven't yet listened to our horoscopes for the month, you can listen to your horoscope, which includes a breakdown of the eclipse in Pisces for your sun or rising sign, whatever you like to listen to.
So make sure you do that, just because that's going to give you a little extra insight. Dana, Alex, and I break down your Eclipse horoscopes for all 12 signs. I recommend focusing always on the topic of the whole sign house that the eclipse falls in, this one being Pisces. That's going to give you the most basic way of understanding what topics are being activated in your life by the eclipse, and that is what we go over in the horoscopes as well.
So, there are five features that I want to talk about because I like the number five, and there are five features of this lunar eclipse that I hope will help us to understand more. The first is the influence of Neptune. We have a couple of things happening all at the same time. We have a lunar eclipse that is within the three-degree engagement range of Neptune, which makes this a very Piscean slash Neptunian lunar eclipse.
On the other hand, we also have the sun always opposite the moon at the time of a full moon, moving into an opposition with Neptune within three degrees. So, Sun Neptune opposition, as well as the moon-Neptune conjunction, all happen at the same time as the eclipse. That is really significant. It is also significant that we said. A little earlier this month, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto were all configured to one another, and we see that this eclipse therefore engages both the sun and the moon in this, these harmonious aspects that are flowing between all three outer planets simultaneously, without getting too complicated, because that's a lot of planets to try to synthesize together in like one simple sentence, it really just means that we have a very amplified a louder lunar eclipse, a louder Full Moon than usual.
This is not your average full moon. This is not even your average lunar eclipse. What makes a lunar eclipse more or less potent? There are many factors, but one of them has to do with the signatures. The other aspect is signatures in the sky at the time of the eclipse. This is a very busy lunar eclipse configured with all of the outer planets at the same time; it is highly Neptunian in that Neptune is sort of the centerpiece of the lunar eclipse. So, let's start breaking this down.
Remember that the lunar site, the lunar cycle, in general, in the most general philosophical sense, refers to the ebbs and flows of fortune, that is the fluctuation of life and all of its circumstances, and the world that might be called the world of fate or destiny, as well as karma, the rules and laws that interact with our choices and create outcomes are deeply mysterious to us, but we can trust that the lunar cycles will show us how things that are planted eventually bear fruit, how choices or actions or intentions lead to results. And full moon lunar eclipses are about results.
So, there are a lot of different ways that people talk about the result. A result might be the fruit of your labor. A result might be the end of something because the outcome of anything that was started with an original intention or choice is sort of the natural ending of the sequence.
For example, if I put in years and years and years and years and years and years of practice in something, and then I become really good at it, the outcome is that I'm good at it. And in a sense, even though you know you may practice forever, being good is sort of the natural end. So, one of the words that were used in ancient astrology to describe an astrological textbook. Sometimes, that was the word that was used, which was apotelematics. It's kind of similar. From where we get the word that we get the word from, can I talk we get the word teleology from, which has to do with the end of the outcome, the end result?
So there's a way in which lunar eclipses. One of my teachers originally said that a lunar eclipse is like a door closing. It's like something is done, something is finished. When something comes to fruition, really, that's the beginning of its death, right? You want to pick the fruit and eat it while it's ripe. Otherwise, you know, it gets rotten. So there's a sense in which fruition, like a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, is a natural ending. It is a natural point of manifestation where you have an outcome, you have a result, and it is, therefore, the end of a process that began some point in time prior; another way of thinking about it is that a pattern or something that you've been doing again and again and again leads to some kind of result, or it leads to a place where you can clearly see what the pattern has produced. A lot of the things we do are rather unconscious, so one of the things that happens with the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is that we become aware and reach a conscious understanding of things that have been unconsciously operating as patterns in our lives. Does that make sense? Okay, good.
Another way of looking at a lunar eclipse is that the karma is ready to ripen. And in a sense, the karma is, is then thus, thus done. So I say that because, um, there's a very natural way in which, when we reach the end of a cycle, we don't have to deal with a pattern any longer. Let me put the screen back up. I had to close something that was beeping. We don't have to deal with something any longer because it's come to our conscious realization, and we've seen the results. And so we can change our pattern. We can make a new choice.
So there's a way in which, you know, lunar eclipses will bring things to a head, you know, it's like, and then it's like a pimple, you pop it, and then, you know, and then, and then, hopefully, it's gone. But there can be a way, in other words, in which the burning off of karma is indicated by a lunar eclipse. Sometimes, the burning off of karma is also about the results that are difficult.
For example, if you have treated your body very poorly, you may have a health crisis. With a lunar eclipse in your first house, for example, not that you're going to have that happen to you if you have Pisces in your first house. I'm just saying it is one of the things that could happen with a lunar eclipse in the first house, some kind of pattern of not taking great care of yourself, or some underlying health patterns that maybe come from your, you know, your ancestry or genetics, or whatever, that it's ready to blossom. It's going to show itself, and now you have to actually deal with something that's been cooking behind your site. So, the fruit can mean so many different things.
What do we do with something that appears to have a history? Is it burning off? Is it delivering the goods? Wow, you've done this work now you're reaping what you've sown. There's a reward totally possible for lunar eclipses at the same time, doors closing, endings, karmic realizations that crystallize, and that you have to move on because you've come to some realization about something. So when we have that in mind, we have the basic way of understanding a lunar eclipse.
Now, the results of an eclipse do not happen on the day of an eclipse. For the most part, they happen around the time of an eclipse, so the eclipse may happen a couple of days after that. These kinds of events happen, but they often take place even a couple of months before all of the kinds of things that we're discussing right now actually occur. The lunar eclipse is sort of like signaling. The end is near. The blossoming is here, but here is relative.
It means it is at hand somehow. And that's why we always give eclipses the window of, say, three to six months. I think that's safe as long as the nodes of the moon are in the same sign, even though we haven't had the North Node move into Pisces yet. And so, in a way, this is something that is probably ongoing for another year and a half; these shifts that happen in that whole sign of House of Pisces in your chart that begin with this eclipse, in other words, will have a lot more story to tell then we get the influence of Neptune.
Okay, well, now we have this very Neptunian moment and a Piscean moment. One of the core themes of Pisces is the search for bliss and ecstasy and things that can provide a sort of romantic, enjoyable, beautiful sense of redemption in a universe that is often cold, bleak, and painful, and we have to deal with impermanence. Pisces is a Jupiter-ruled sign, traditionally also the exaltation of Venus. That is a very hopeful sign, but that's looking for redemption amidst the turmoil and difficulty of life.
This is why, for example, one of the best qualities about the sign of Pisces, psychologically speaking, is compassion, forgiveness, sweetness, understanding because there's nothing that helps us redeem our difficult experiences the darkness within ourselves and someone forgiving us, or someone having compassion or forgiveness or doing those things for ourselves, there is nothing more redemptive than you know, looking for seeking out beauty and meaning, meaning that uplifts and makes us feel like we are in a beautiful, magical, mysterious, miraculous universe.
So Pisces is such a romantic at heart, seeking those big things that can redeem and hold and beautify existence. So in this eclipse, there is something here that's really important for us when it comes to, you know, karmic blossoming, that is tapping into that theme of the biggest, most hopeful, beautiful things that we seek, that we want to connect with or create. And insofar as any of us are experiencing a lack of those uplifting, universal, compassionate, beautiful, divine, inspired, mystical themes in our lives, this is an eclipse that will say it's lacking. You have to create more of it. And in order to do so, you have to make these changes. And you're realizing this because some kind of karma is blossoming.
Neptune participates and amplifies these same things, which is why modern astrologers, very intelligently, I think, associate Neptune with Pisces and set aside questions about rulership. Technically, it's a nice Association for the same for the same reasons, right? Neptune often embodies the exact same qualities that we're describing about the sign of Pisces through Jupiter and Venus's lens.
Anyway, so we have this search for redemption and beauty and connection. And I'm looking at this, for example, in the 11th house of my birth chart because I'm a Taurus rising, which you can actually see on the screen right now. Just to give an example, if you're a Taurus rising like myself, you might be looking for these things in terms of the community that you're with or you create, or the friends that you have, or the social groups that you belong to, and you may be saying, To whatever extent this, there needs to be more of this.
Things are happening right now that are making me aware. I need to find more of this, right? Now, on the other hand, the Neptunian influence can also perhaps have us realizing to what extent any of our longings are unhealthy or delusional or escapist because the shadow side of Pisces and Neptune is that we can seek out those big, universal experiences of redemption, hope, beauty, love, mysticism, we can seek them out in ways that are impatient and regressive and, you know, maybe codependent or we can, we could. We could become addicted to drugs or alcohol. We can seek out, in other words, poor substitutes for the actual experience of bliss, hope, beauty, redemption, and compassion.
We can feel sorry for ourselves and do drugs, you know, and become codependent. We can In seeking out a salve for the wound of existence itself, we can look and find some very poor substitutes for real, genuinely connected things and people, and themes like this are the heroin addict. You know, this is in it, and I'm not trying to shame anyone, right? It's just that this is where we find ourselves. Often is that it's a struggle to find those things, and so sometimes we say, I just need a way out.
So rather than finding divinity and community and forgiveness and compassion, and instead of finding practices that bring serenity into our minds and our lives, we reach out for things that delude and cloud our consciousness and so forth. So to whatever extent we've been diluted, to whatever extent we've been demonstrating a pattern of escape, or to whatever extent we have been looking for or utilizing things that are not really good for us, that don't really solve the problem of pain, you know, to whatever extent we've been acting like a victim, to whatever extent we've been feeling sorry for ourselves and choosing to escape rather than work to find the real version of the best things in the world. You know, that is the extent to which this eclipse will come along and act as a process of disillusionment. Oh, that's not really working. This isn't really what connects you to those high, mystical, beautiful planes of experience.
This is how you're deluding yourself. This is where you need to be more real. Real doesn't mean that you're not; you don't deserve the most beautiful, magical things in the universe. It means that you deserve the real version of them, and that is usually found through a willingness to bear suffering and not come to find out that it's not the polar opposite of happiness; it's there's a way in which passion and suffering and acceptance and surrender and humility, these deep Piscean themes are the gateways to bliss and beauty and magic. They come hand in hand.
So, this eclipse brings us toward these qualities. If we've been deluded, if we've been deceiving ourselves, if we've been cloudy, it will ask us to get real, to awaken, to clear the fog to whatever extent we need more of these things, and we are life has been lacking the watery element here that we're talking about. We will have some kind of inspired sense of what is possible and what we actually need, what will actually fill our cup with real water, living water. So these are some of the things that I would watch for through the influence of Neptune.
Number two is an approaching Venus-Pluto square. The thing is, these realizations and this shift in consciousness that we're describing are coming along with some very significant changes or challenges in relationships. They could be social, they could be professional, they could be marital, and they could be your friends. But the fact that this all happens and then we see an imminent square between Venus and Pluto suggests that there is some examination of relationships, of the fairness of the equal of the give and take of what is fair and good and right within your relationships. This awakening of Neptune, this need for Neptune, and this need to set aside anything we've been diluted by will immediately have an impact on our relationships. And that square carries very quickly. It carries into the perfection of that square; excuse me, comes September 22, so we're talking about just days after the eclipse.
So, consider that Venus is with the south node of the moon, suggesting crystallization, completion, and resolution. Definition of some old dynamics around relationships. Number three is that we're going to have a subsequent Solar Eclipse in Libra. And that Solar Eclipse in Libra comes right about here. This is October 2. October 2, the solar eclipse in the sign of Libra, with the South Node and with Mercury, while Venus is now in the sign of Scorpio, suggests that there is going to be a process of making and remaking relationships, making them new, making them fresh, revising them deeply, examining relational dynamics, the karmic history of various relationships in our lives, and the need for significant changes in those relationships is also suggested after the lunar eclipse by the solar eclipse in pisces in Libra Venus's sign, well, Venus is in Scorpio, suggesting deep transformation karmically within relationships.
Now, why would that be the case? Well, it's probably given back; going back to the lunar eclipse in Pisces, it is probably because we follow the logic of what we were saying about the eclipse that either our relationships are not close, or they're not close enough. How can we say this? They're not. They are not approximating the ideal, blissful, beautiful, romantic, compassionate, forgiving kind of energy that we know we need more of right now. They're not emotionally intelligent enough. They're not romantic, sensitive, mystical, spiritual enough.
For some reason, we're just very aware after this eclipse, let's say, that we need the right kind of spiritual influences and people and relational dynamics in a given area of our life, or maybe all areas of our life. And so Venus-Pluto square Solar Eclipse in Libra, with Venus and Scorpio, we're going to get an opportunity to forge new relationships or to deeply revise existing relationships, so that there is more there, emotionally, spiritually, psychologically, that there is greater depth, that there is greater vulnerability, that there is more truth, that there is less deception, and that there is a greater openness to spirit. That's what I see coming through, given these events in sequence number four, which is that at the time of the eclipse, there is also a Mercury-Saturn opposition.
So, I want you to notice that at the time of the eclipse, Mercury in Virgo is also opposing Saturn in Pisces. This suggests Mercury in Saturn, when they are opposed, usually represents a limit, a decision, a crossroads, having to weigh things carefully and make very serious judgments, or having to consider or weigh different kinds of information. So I also see this as like, although it's such a Neptunian full moon, given everything that comes after, and even given the mercury Saturn opposition, the realizations, as beautiful and ethereal as they may be, are going to cause us to look at things very carefully and to weigh and make very careful judgments, or to discern things very carefully, or to be at some kind of crossroads.
I suspect that that crossroads will entail some difficult conversations and some clashing or real differences of values or strategies or agendas or values or visions and that we're going to take that kind of information and the impasse that we may find ourselves at, and we're going to have to think about what we want to do going forward, and whether or not diplomatic strategies are diplomatic solutions are available to us, or if we're going to have to bow out of certain relationships. I can see Mercury Saturn really emphasizing the same thing, but it also just calls to mind the rigidity of the mind versus the openness of the mind. Saturn oppositions and Mercury-Saturn oppositions are like that. It can be about strictness mentally. It can be about communication and limits in communication. It can be about trust and surrender versus the rational mind.
So, there are some interesting tensions that come up at the time of a very Neptunian moment that could also sort of pit the sensual and otherworldly dimension of the eclipse against the very rational qualities of Mercury in Virgo.
And then, finally, what we're going to see closely following the lunar eclipse is after Venus squares, Pluto moves into Scorpio, excuse me. Then, throughout the next month, after we get the Eclipse in Libra on October 2, we have a very close, not perfect, but very close, Grand Water Trine. We've got Mars, Saturn, and. Venus going through a Grand Water Trine; this coming on the heels of a solar eclipse in Venus's sign with Venus engaged with the malefics, all in water signs, to me, suggests very challenging, very sensitive, very vulnerable, emotional territory to be navigated on the heels of the eclipse. What could that be? Relationships with family members, friends, co-workers, and a community, wherever it finds itself, will be deep.
There will be a lot of big feelings on the table, and we will be forced to consider these larger Neptunian and Piscean goals, values, wishes, hopes, and dreams. It's going to move some things at a very deep level. And then the fallout, and, you know, the next month has a lot of emotional charge behind it with This Grand Water Trine. Can things get done? Yes, but will it be difficult? Yeah, there's going to be some hard feelings. We can see that because we've got Saturn, and, excuse me, we've got Mars and Venus both debilitated. We've got Saturn retrograde, but the three are all trining one another. So, Can something constructive come out of this?
Yes, but it's going to be deep and probably edgy and not so easy, places to go emotionally, but we have to, because this dream or vision coming off from the Neptunian lunar eclipse is is giving us a picture of where things could be, of what the bigger, most beautiful themes are are, and what is, what the difference is between those beautiful visions. And, you know, things that are just false, or things we're being deceived by, and the fallout from that is going to have a major impact on various relationships, and then the emotional dynamics that follow are pretty intense.
I think that this represents some amazing potential for healing within relationships and for the growth of very important themes psychologically and emotionally, that relationships can grow spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically in the next couple of months, and that they are the relationships we choose to form and those we choose to end are going to help us more closely approximate our spiritual values, especially, and parse through what is real and what isn't. Okay. Just some thoughts. It's always like looking at a painting, and as an astrologer, I'm giving my impressions of the painting, but I would love to hear yours. What do you get when you look at some of these signatures?
Tomorrow, we'll be back to look at the eclipse a little bit more, and I'm going to remind you of some of the topics of the houses in tomorrow's talk and say a few more things about the eclipse. Don't forget again to check out your horoscopes for September at the beginning of the month. Go back to the videos. Post at the top of the YouTube channel as well because then you'll get a little breakdown of your horoscope, and that might be helpful if you haven't heard it yet.
Okay, that's it for now. I hope you have a good one, and stay tuned after I log off; there's an informational video you can listen to next about the first-year course that starts on November 16. The pre-registration sale is on now and runs till October 15. Bye.
