Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology. Happy Monday, everybody. Today, we're going to take a look at the astrology for the week ahead.
There are a number of significant transits unfolding as the week goes on. A lot of them are Uranian. This is a very Uranian week, including a Full Moon in Taurus that will be conjoined with the planet Uranus, and then the sun also opposes Uranus.
We've got Saturn changing directions this week, Venus is going into Capricorn, and Mercury is squaring Saturn. So, a bunch of stuff to cover. That's what we'll be looking at today. As the week goes on, we will be unpacking several of these transits in greater depth and detail. So that is our agenda for today.
Remember to like and subscribe. It really helps us grow our channel. Our goal is to get to 80,000 subscribers on the channel by the spring equinox. We're trying to set little incremental goals for ourselves to grow the community and channel. So if you listen and you haven't yet subscribed, it's free to do so. We really appreciate it.
You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on my website, which is NightlightAstrology.com.
A couple of things to mention today. One is that I'm very excited to announce that our new reading service is finally available. Over the past two years, in the Kickstarter process, we have gradually built the infrastructure for a need-based astrology service.
If you go to book a reading on the website and click on need-based astrology readings, you will find our staff of readers and different tiered pricing that you can use to have an astrological reading. Hopefully, we have tiers so that it is affordable for people at different income levels or different financial circumstances.
We're very glad to bring you that service as part of our ongoing mission to make sure that astrological education and service is accessible to people of all income levels. That's a very important part of our programs overall.
Two other things to turn you on to right now before we get started today. One is, if you go to the events page, click on live talks coming up soon. On November 21, is my talk on Pluto into Aquarius, AI, aliens, and new world orders.
That webinar is being held from 7 to 9 PM Eastern on the 21st. If you cannot attend live, after you register, you do receive a download of the recording afterward.
Finally, the first-year course, "Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic," starts this weekend. So this is your final week. You're in the last days that you have left to register before the new program starts on November 16, so that is at the end of this week.
There is still space left. Be sure to check out the need-based tuition option that is there for people who would like to study but might need a little bit of help because of financial circumstances. Please do take advantage of that if you want to learn more about the program.
After I sign off today, there is an informational video that we have tagged on to the end of the content during enrollment season so you can learn more about the program if you are interested.
It does start under an awesome election with Pluto entering Aquarius. So I hope to see you there. There's still room left to get into the program before this weekend, so please do sign up, and we'll hope to see you there.
All right, now, let's turn our attention to the real-time clock, and let's take a look at the astrology of our week ahead.
So here we are on Monday, November 11, and the first major astrological transit of the week is going to be happening later today, as Venus enters the sign of Capricorn.
So here is Venus changing signs into Capricorn. That's later today in the afternoon here, Central Time in the United States. Venus moving into Capricorn now creates a kind of mutual reception and a sextile between Venus and Saturn.
Venus is in Saturn's sign while Saturn is in Venus's exaltation. The two are in a whole sign sextile to one another, and will be gradually applying to make an exact sextile. Let me show you how that works out.
The exact sextile between the two of them comes between November 21 and 22. The reason I like this transit in particular is that we now see a pretty strong kind of affinity between Venus and Saturn.
When you're talking about things like love and relationships, positive contact between Venus and Saturn usually means that maturity will win the day. Adult behavior will have an energy that can be serious and mature, capable of doing hard things harmoniously with other people.
This is also, in some ways, about the maturation of love and relationships. The natural way in which love and relationships reach stages of growth and deepening—anything that matures over time—is very Venus-Saturn. Anything that grows more beautiful, lovely, and intimate through time and experience is very Venus-Saturn.
Venus in Capricorn can also be very ambitious. Remember, Capricorn is a Mars-ruled sign, or, excuse me, the sign in which Mars is exalted. We have a way in which Venus can become very ambitious but also practical and hard-working in the sign of Capricorn.
When you think about the feminine and you think about things like leadership and hard work and responsibility, those things can go together. You see women often ascending into more responsibility or roles of greater power or reputation while Venus is in Capricorn.
The Venus-Saturn contact, again, to me, suggests both a kind of mature, practical, realistic quality as well as one that's emotionally sensitive and refined. Emotional intelligence comes to mind for the contact between Venus and Saturn that's happening now.
Another way of thinking about Venus in Capricorn is just in terms of the things that Venus likes to build. Venus in Capricorn is good at building things—things that Venus finds beautiful, desirable, enjoyable, or pleasant, but that requires some kind of hard work or discipline to accomplish.
Those are some of the things that come to mind with Venus entering Capricorn. Venus will be in the sign of Capricorn all the way up until entering the sign of Aquarius, where she will hit an immediate conjunction with Pluto. That's around December 6.
It's interesting that Venus changes signs and conjoins Pluto right as Mars is going retrograde. Venus and Mars are opposed to one another. That is another fascinating signature that's sort of coming a little later down the road.
But anyway, let's go back here. As the week unfolds, let's go to November 12. On the 12th, that would be Tuesday, November 12. That's tomorrow.
We are going to see Mercury square Saturn. Mercury is in the overcoming or superior position to Saturn, and so we think about Mercury potentially in the position of having to overcome or surmount some difficulties presented by Saturn.
What's nice about this is that if Saturn presents impediments or obstacles or blocks—let's say they are emotional, or they have to do with different boundaries or barriers that come up in the flow of events—Mercury, in the overcoming position in Sagittarius, can use things like optimism, problem-solving, creativity, and enthusiasm to overcome what might initially look like a little bit of an obstacle or barrier.
Mercury square Saturn can present us with rigid or narrow thinking, or fanatical or sort of fundamentalist modes of thinking or perceiving, and limited limitations in our thinking that also might need to be overcome.
But also, Mercury-Saturn is about the seriousness of our thinking or the organizational or structural dimensions of thought and intellect, which can be useful, especially if you're trying to organize something or get something done, and you need practical, resourceful, organized thinking. This is a great transit for that.
Again, also with Mercury overcoming Saturn in the superior position, we think to ourselves of Mercury overcoming something Saturnian, which usually means that clever thinking, communication, and inventiveness can overcome some kind of limit or obstacle.
All right, let's move on from this one. One of the major transits of the week is going to happen on Friday, when Saturn turns direct. Saturn, in Pisces, has been in retrogradation since the summer.
Let's go back to when Saturn turned retrograde. We can see that that's happening right about the beginning of July. So we see Saturn stationing, turning retrograde by about July 1.
Saturn has been retrograde in some whole sign house of your chart all the way since July. What I find really interesting about that is, later this week, what I'm hoping to do is take a moment to go back to the timeline of Saturn from the retrograde up until now and do some whole sign horoscopes for Saturn, shifting directions.
That shift of direction is often correlated with a turning of the chapter or the page in an ongoing story that's happening by whole sign house in your birth chart. You can see Saturn rising on the screen right now. That puts Saturn in Pisces in the fourth house.
We think of a turning point with respect to the ongoing work that Saturn is doing in your house of home and family. So I think we'll probably unpack horoscopes later this week for Saturn changing directions.
Saturn turning direct is about a period of refined or...
you know, yeah, a process of refinement or reflection that's been taking place since the summer, with, again, with respect to the topics of the house that it's been in.
And now, moving direct again, it's as though we've, you know, after having kind of accumulated some wisdom and insights and experience and understanding, the work can now deepen and continue on. That's a little vague, I know, but we will. I think I'm 99% sure we're going to do horoscopes later this week, so we can reflect on the specific themes that you're likely to see, and then we can make a little bit more sense out of Saturn's change of direction.
But when a planet turns direct, it's generally thought of as starting to gain strength and momentum and clarity, and in a sense, it becomes less problematic. Like a retrograde planet is often about a period of time where things beyond your control are coming up, and you're just sort of being forced to adapt and work with the shifting of circumstances that are reflected by the retrograde that feel like they're out of your control.
The direct motion often signals a period where things start to feel more familiar and more controlled, or at the least, it's as though a direction that we have in mind and intentions that we have in mind are going to match with the direct motion a little bit more than a retrograde, which is often where things feel like they're out of our hands.
We'll play with that idea and some other ideas more when we do those horoscopes. So see, I've talked myself into doing them now, because I feel like I'll disappoint everybody if I don't. So now I have to. I was thinking about it anyway, but I was pretty sure, but now I'm like, Okay, we'll do them.
So on the 15th, the other major transit of the day is we have, so that is the change of direction of Saturn, turning direct in Pisces, also a major full moon in the sign of Taurus. So let's just move this along.
And here we can see the full moon coming through across the Taurus Scorpio axis. And that full moon is a Uranian New Moon on the fixed star Algol. So that's interesting. We have a truly revolutionary and a signature of some very unexpected energies right around the time of the full moon, so a little erratic.
Algol is also about, it's an interesting story. The story of Algol is a fascinating one. So the story of Medusa really, but yeah, there's the mythology of Algol can be about strong feminine energies that are repressed or suppressed or oppressed. Repressed, that need to come out, and that initially in the release or expression of those energies, they can feel sort of wild and chaotic and destructive because they've been repressed or oppressed.
There's almost like an overcompensation that happens with a release of Algol energy, and that can be very creative, very destructive. On the other hand, another way of looking at Algol is about the signature of losing one's head, you know, just kind of flying off the handle, or of a moment of like, losing control.
And there's, it's, again, I would just really recommend there's, I think it's Bernadette Brady's book on the fixed stars. So she does a really nice job talking about the mythology of Algol. And maybe what I'll do, yeah, that's a good idea. It just came up. Came up with an idea right here. I'm full of great ideas today.
So I think what I'll do is I'll probably do a little bit of work on the fixed star Algol with our full moon analysis that we're doing later in the week. I'll just bring in some Algol energy. Read you guys a few little passages that you'll find interesting. So we'll preview that.
But I think the main thing to focus on is just a very Uranian moment of the full moon. Uranus brings breakthroughs, revolution, liberation, creativity, creativity and originality. It forces us to break from established patterns and norms in favor of things that are defiant or original.
It helps release stuck energy, and which is why we also associate it with liberation. But it can be a little bit like the tower card to where there's sudden, erratic releases of energy that can be sort of destructive. There's an unpredictable quality about Uranus that is predictably unpredictable, so that energy often brings with it, like the lightning strikes we talked about in another recent video we did on Uranus contact now.
So that full moon is very powerful on the 15th, of course, followed, that's Friday, followed on Saturday the 16th by the sun in Scorpio, opposing Uranus, just following right off the full moon.
You know, sun opposite Uranus creates more of the same, where there's illumination and that kind of Promethean stealing of the fire. There's a feeling of, you know, it kind of an intense awakening quality, where the idea of rebellion and defiance, and, you know, clarity and understanding things that can truly progress us or revolutionize our circumstances.
There's also a feeling of needing your life ambition with the sun in the opposition to Uranus, needs to redirect itself somehow. There's adjustments or modifications made with respect to life goals, purpose, ambition.
And this feeling of needing something more or something transcendent to aspire to, we have to break out of things that we're bored with to find new inspiration. These are very, again, Uranian themes.
So all of this is what is in front of us for the week ahead, and what we will be visiting, you know, kind of piece by piece. So as far as I can tell, the way we're going to be working through this is tomorrow, we'll be looking at Mercury square Saturn.
Then on Wednesday, I believe, we will be doing the Saturn direct horoscopes. And then Thursday and Friday, we'll probably be working with that full moon energy and the sun Uranus dynamic. I might try to sneak in a planets and profile on the moon, possibly a grabbed episode.
If not this week, then next week. There's a few other things I have in mind too, but that's sort of what is ahead of us for the week. And at least now you know what's coming in the week ahead?
As always, I highly recommend having a journaling practice. If you have or have a story to share with us, use the hashtag. Grab. Tell us the story. Tell us the transit. Tell us the story in the comment section, or email us your story. Grab the Nightlight astrology.com.
Anyway, after I sign off, don't forget the New Year one class starts on Saturday this week, so you have just a couple more days to register if you haven't already. Need-based tuition is, of course, available, and after I sign off, you can learn more about the upcoming program.
I hope you're having a nice Monday, and we will see you again tomorrow. Bye. Bye.

#grab I’m not sure which element of Mars this is associated with, or Mars in combination with Pluto…but I was kicked in the face and ribs by a horse last Friday. Broke teeth, my aveolar bone in my mouth, ribs, and have a concussion. I am Scorpio rising so there’s that., and Mars is transiting my Natal Mars in Leo right now as well. Oh Joy!
