Hey everyone, this is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology. Happy Monday, everybody. Today, we're gonna take a look at Venus in the sign of Cancer, making a square to the nodes of the moon. While we're doing this, we're going to cover a topic called the bending of the nodes. A lot of you guys have asked me to cover this topic over the years, and it's not a huge part of my repertoire as an astrologer. So, I've typically avoided it. I don't like to speak to things that, you know, I can't speak to out of professional experience.
So however, in the past year, I've been incorporating a few different things into my practice, and the bending of the nodes is one of them. So I thought, You know what, we'll talk about it today, even though I will admit that it is not yet a huge part of my practice. Nor do I have as much experience with the bending of the nodes as probably other astrologers out there. So you can take what I have to say very, you know, sort of with a grain of salt.
But anyway, we'll visit that concept today. And if you've never heard about it, at the very least, you'll get to know it is a cool and definitely interesting and interesting thing to add to your astrological toolkit, and we'll have some practical takeaways. I think today, too, with Venus at the bending of the nodes or the square to the nodes. So anyway, that's our goal for today.
Don't forget to like and subscribe, and share your comments and reflections if you've got them. You can also find transcripts of any of my daily talks on the website nightlight astrology.com. All of our programs have recently started. It's not too late to join. If you want to check them out, go to the Courses page; first year class just started, second-year and horary all just started. If you go to the events page, there are a couple of things I want to point you to. One is our summer speaker series.
So this summer, we have been Dreaming the Deccans with T. Susan Chang, who is a really well-known expert on the Tarot and the deccans in astrology. We have Erika Beach giving a talk on Sedna, which is really interesting. She's a nightlight staffer. We have ,Jeanne Friscia, if I'm hopefully I didn't, mess up her last name there. She is giving a talk on the intersection between famous artists, art, and astrology. So I think that these are some really interesting talks for the summer speaker series. They're all free to register and attend live, and you get a recording.
If you can't make it live, go to the events page and click on live talks. And you will also be taken over to my monthly webinar series; you can see that we have recently we've recently done the 12th House talk Neptune in Aries, all the outer planets in love. In July on July 18. I'm doing a talk on Uranus in Gemini. So that is a major transit. That's happening next year; I'll be doing a webinar talk similar to the one I did on Neptune in Aries, another big transit of 2025. So hope to see you guys there for that. All right. Well, let's take a look at the real-time clock. And I have a cold today. So, I will admit that I'm sort of not at my best. I'm getting over a cold right now. All right.
So what we're going to do here is take a look at this coming through Wednesday of this week. Now, I use the mean nodes. But if you use the true nodes, you have a slightly different way of looking at the position of the nodes in the zodiac. I'll leave the debate over which form of measurement is better for another time. I started off using the mean nodes, which I've always sort of used. Regardless, with the mean node measurement in mind, you can see that Venus, in the sign of Cancer, is crossing the square this Wednesday, June 26.
Now, that means you'll be able to if we just back this up a touch today, Monday, June 24; we're within two degrees, so you should be able to feel this and or notice it. And that will be the same all the way through Saturday, June 29, when Venus is then moving out of that three-degree range. Now, the square to the nodes. What does it mean? There's a concept called the bending of the nodes. And the basic way of understanding it. And I'm going to just start with the North Node and go 90 degrees to the square.
So here we have. Capricorn 90 degrees in clockwise order from the north node will take us to the south bending. This is the square of the nodes of the moon. It's called the south bending because it means that the planet at that point takes on the nature of the South Node or is inclined toward the south node in the square. That's why I'm just keeping it super basic because, again, it's not something I've worked with a ton.
So I don't want to say a lot more than that about its specific meaning because it's something that's real simply knew for me, I've always used squares to the nodes don't get me wrong, but not the particular bending concept, which is really interesting, I think.
So anyway, if you continue going clockwise around the wheel, hit the south node, and go, now we're 270 degrees away from the north node. And now we're at the North bending. So this is the square that has us where Venus is located right now. So we have Venus at the North bending point. And that's the simple way you calculate it, moving from the North Node in clockwise order around the wheel; the first square is the south bending, then you get to the South node, the next 90 degrees out 270, from your starting point of the north node is at the North bending. So Venus in Cancer right now squaring the nodes of the moon, inclined at the North bending to the north node of the moon, here are five things to watch for. And I believe that I would have said these things.
Anytime I look at the planets, squaring the nodes, any planet, squaring the nodes will, in many ways, just activate the tension of the nodal axis. I think that's the basic way of thinking about it that everyone can use. So, most of these delineation points that I have to make today are rooted in the idea that Venus squaring the nodes is activating the nodes of the moon and our Eclipse stories that we've been living with. However, I have added some nuances here that are specific to Venus being at the North bending point. So that should be fun as well.
Alright, so five things to watch for. One is that there has been a story taking place with Venus since mid-April. Let's look at the real-time clock again and you'll see what I mean. So, first of all, remember that Venus has been the ruler of the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction. And so when we take Venus back in time to about the middle of April, this is April 13. You can see that here. This is now April 17. There's Venus crossing the north node of the moon, the mean node, of course. This is just a couple of weeks after, I guess it's less than two weeks after our solar eclipse in Aries. And it's just days prior to Jupiter and Uranus conjoining and Venus the sign of Taurus.
So, Venus at the north node has been propelling a story forward. And she's been at the heart of a lot of action this year already. So one way of thinking about Venus at the bending of the nodes is to think especially inclined as she is at the North bending to the north node that since the solar eclipse in Aries in early April and the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction and Venus sign later in April, Venus has been very much behind the desires, intentions and work of the North Node, the North Node in Aries, who is pioneering active and look now the ruler of the North Node in Aries is Mars in Taurus coming through Venus's sign moving gradually into a conjunction with Uranus and Taurus which we visited in a couple of videos last week.
So all of this is just to say that there's been a very like think about the kinds of things that Venus wants: love, beauty, relationships, sexuality, something valuable, wealthy, enjoyable, pleasurable, sensual; what are Venus's values and relationships. Her agenda has been behind a lot of the growth and revolutionary energies of the past several months.
Now, we reach this critical point where the story that has been developing with Venus since mid-April is reaching another significant moment of climax or critical development. And that's one very basic way of tracking Venus right now. So you should be able to notice this in the Venusian areas of your life.
We could say that it is a critical turning point with respect to love, sex, relationships, art, beauty, aesthetics, and the body. Again, it could be subtle, but notice what is shifting what is being highlighted, or what is being amplified with respect to Venus right now. And with respect to what she wants and desires, what she is passionate about, and what her agenda has been, what she has been pressing forward in your life at the forefront of your mind, heart, and consciousness since April.
Number three would be a skipped step. So, this is something that evolutionary astrologers do. I can't say that I've necessarily seen this in practice a ton.
But I offer it to you as an interesting thing to consider. Squares to the nodes are sometimes thought of as skipped steps. Well, what kind of skip step would this be? And I thought, well, here's Venus in Cancer squaring the nodes of the moon. Maybe there is the need for some kind of revisitation of Venus' karma with respect to your family background. So if you're revising, or if you're moving through a critical moment with respect to love, sex, relationships, women, sisters, etc. Then, how is what you're moving through right now related to your ancestral past, your family karma, and the Cancerian realm? A skipped step that seeks integration and attention, something you need to go back and revise. And perhaps it has its roots in things like deeper emotional vulnerabilities that exist within us. And maybe it also has its roots in family history. All right. So that's an interesting way of thinking about it.
A choice, a decision or crossroads informed by the desires of the North Node in Aries. So it's like think about another way of thinking about it right now what kind of pioneering push has the North Node in Aries in your birth chart and provide you with a look at the whole sign house that it occupies? And what's the relationship between that kind of Aries impetus, the Mars impetus, and Venus? Right now, notice that as the squares are happening, Venus is sex tiling Mars, the ruler of the North Node.
So again, it makes me wonder if there isn't some you know. Mars is very passionate. Mars wants to act and do things and assert, and it's a planet that likes to start things. It's a sign in Aries that likes to initiate new cycles of activity. I've never done this before, but I want to do it now. So what is Mars and Aries kind of pushing forward? And how is it related to Venus? Again, this is just a different way of saying something I've said a few times now. But think about this. It's a choice. It's a decision. It's a crossroads that you're at. And it is informed by what Mars is passionately asserting itself in relation to. Then, the secondary question becomes, what does Venus have to do with that?
These are all just hints or ways of trying to help people see the fabric of astrology right now. So if it's not making sense, if you don't see it, then my advice is always to just sit back and live. And sooner or later, you will, it will have a way of popping up when it needs to, not all. I would say there's like 75% of the transits that I cover, will I actually be able to recognize, in my experience, then there's probably 25% of the transits.
I cover in my day-to-day videos that I don't connect with them, or they, and I know they're there, but I'm not making a conscious connection. So that's very normal, by the way.
Number five because Venus is under the beams of the sun, right? She's invisible. And so the development of this Venusian story is a critical turning point with respect to Love, Sex, and Relationships, a skip-step exploration of family karma, a choice or crossroads informed by the powerful desires and actions of Mars. All of this may be taking place in a less overt place, in a quieter or even more hidden or secretive dimension in your own mind and your heart in privacy in intimate spaces. That's because Venus is hidden behind the beams of the sun. What we are working on right now is what we are developing this crossroads for Venus. We will see it made manifest later in July when Venus emerges as the Evening Star and is now visible.
So what we're working on right now has a kind of it. It promises it will make itself seen to others, or it will come out of a more hidden place into a more expressive place within about a month from now. So that's what also makes this very interesting. So pay attention to this moment, this middle of this week, with respect to all things Venus. Now again, you have to forgive me because I don't usually cover the bending of the nodes. This is sort of my first attempt to take a look at it. Let's see what happens, and I'd love to hear your feedback in terms of what you experienced and whether you noticed it or not. That'll really help me think about it. You know how frequently I want to visit squares to the nodes. For example, the sun is going to come through that score pretty soon, so is that worth covering? No, we'll see.
So anyway, hopefully, this was interesting. I apologize for for being a little shorter today because I've got a sore throat, and I'm working on like half a battery so I could recharge myself. Alright, hope you guys have a good one. We'll see you again tomorrow. Bye.
