Hey, everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology (https://nightlightastrology.com/). Happy Monday, everybody. Today we're going to take a look at the astrology for the week ahead. That is the astrology for today, January 27, all the way through Sunday, February 2 this week.
Because it's the end of the month, we do have horoscopes coming up for February, as well as the entire monthly overview for February coming this week. In addition to this weekly overview, that leaves us only a couple of days to break down some of the other transits in depth. So I'll tell you which transits in particular. We're going to be looking at, and kind of lay out the schedule for the week as well.
We have about five transits this week that are of importance that we're going to take a look at today. We'll highlight some of them. I'll be sure to cover some of them that we won't have time to go into greater depth with later. Again, you'll get horoscopes and a monthly overview for February later in the week. So that is our agenda for today.
Remember to like and subscribe. We are seeing if we can't grow this channel to 80,000 subscribers by the spring equinox. It's a little goal that we've set for ourselves. It's free to subscribe if you haven't yet and you like the channel. We appreciate it. You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website, which is NightlightAstrology.com.
Now I'm going to take you over there and one promotion for the day. If you go to the events page and click on the speaker series, you will see that starting this weekend, we have our winter Speaker Series. These are free events. They are with really awesome astrologers in the field who will be coming to give special talks for the students in our programs, but they're free and open to the public as well.
Ramundo Long, our horary course director, will be giving a talk on perfections. Stormy Grace will be giving a talk on lunar phases and love. Timothy Desmond will talk about near-death experiences in astrology. These are going to be some great talks. They're free to register, and you get the recording afterward if you can't attend live. Those are made possible through the Kickstarter.
Those free events go to live talks. You'll also see my monthly webinars coming up in February, March, and April. On February 20, I'm doing my first webinar on Venus retrograde. This should be really fun. We're going to take a look at the meaning of Venus Retrogrades and prepare for March's Venus retrograde in Aries. In March and April, you’ll see a couple of other webinars coming up. You can attend those live, or you can get the recording afterward, either way.
On that note, let's now shift our attention to the real-time clock, and let's take a look at the astrology of this week ahead. Not the busiest week in the world, although there are some really significant shifts that are happening. We're going to take a look at them one by one, and then I'll tell you a little bit also about the production schedule for the week, so you know what's coming.
This is also, at the end of today, I’m going to talk about a few of the transits and how they'll be affecting some of the angular houses in your horoscopes. It's a little segment that I've added in, and I hope that you'll enjoy that. It'll come at the end today.
First of all, we have the start of the week. Mercury is moving into Aquarius, but it's the 29th, Wednesday of this week, that things really get interesting. On the 29th of this week, that's Wednesday, we're going to see Mercury conjoin Pluto. You'll see it's coming through on Wednesday, early in the morning.
So you could say Tuesday night, the 28th into the 29th, Mercury will conjoin Pluto. At the exact same time, on the 29th this Wednesday, we’ll have a new moon in Aquarius. We will be spending time with those transits midweek, for sure. We’ll be going in-depth, and I will also include some brief horoscopic content on the focus of the whole sign house, with a focus on the whole sign house of Aquarius.
So we’ll be looking at what area of your birth chart is highlighted with both the Mercury-Pluto conjunction as well as the new moon in Aquarius. I think the reason it’s important to focus on that one this week is that we’re still in the early days of Pluto's ingress into Aquarius. It can be really helpful to refresh on what is happening in that whole sign house of your birth chart. We’ll be doing that later in the week.
This is a transit that I won’t be spending more time on this week, outside of what I talk about today. That is Uranus turning direct in Taurus. Now, that's happening. You can see the little "S" for station that pops up on the 30th here. That means Uranus is shifting directions.
So that change of direction for Uranus will really start to pick up in the next week or so, but the station and the shift to direct motion occurs on January 30. We do have a significant Uranus transit to look forward to this week. That's going to be a big deal, along with the Mercury conjoined Pluto and the new moon in Aquarius.
For the fixed signs, it’s a big week for Fixed sign horoscopes. If you listen to your sun or rising sign horoscopes for Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, those will be transits hitting Angular houses this week, and that's usually where the action is.
Let’s move forward, though, because another transit on the 30th… back it up just to Thursday. Here, the Sun will trine Uranus, or, excuse me, the Sun will trine Jupiter. My bad.
So actually, this trine from the Sun to Jupiter is part of the synodic cycle between Jupiter and the Sun that signals for us that Jupiter is turning direct. This is a big trine, specifically because of the fact that it indicates Jupiter's change of direction is coming.
So when we take this forward to next week, you’ll see that by Monday of next week, February 3, voila, Jupiter stations and turns direct. So this Sun trine Jupiter moment is a kind of signal that we are also about to reorient once again, with respect to the work that Jupiter has been doing in the whole sign house of Gemini in our charts.
But also, it just moves Jupiter into the final phase of its work in Gemini, because Jupiter will be in direct motion now all the way until it enters the sign of Cancer in June. So we're kind of shifting into the last portion of our work with Jupiter in Gemini right now, and this week signals that change of direction. I'll talk more about those in a minute.
On February 1, the final major transit of the week. This one I love. And you guys who watch my channel for a while know how much I love Venus-Neptune contacts. I think they’re often, most of the time, I feel like they're just kind of romantic and imaginative.
This is a conjunction between exalted Venus in Pisces and Neptune in Pisces. So a nice conjunction to end the week. I have found over the years of Neptune being in Pisces, that the conjunctions between Venus and Neptune are almost always, they almost always capture just a little bit of love and bliss. And so I’m quite positive about these. I will mention some of the shadows as well, but yeah, that conjunction comes on Saturday, close to the end of this week, and will be a part of our weekend.
It’s worth noting that these two planets are just two degrees off from the North Node of the Moon, and that when they come through, the moon will also be in Pisces. So it is going to be a spectacularly watery Venusian, Neptunian kind of experience on Saturday. We’ll say more about that as well.
Now, like I said, later in the week, we’re going to be focusing on the new moon in Aquarius, with Mercury conjoined Pluto in Aquarius. So I’ll be doing some horoscopes for that. And then what’s going to happen on Thursday and Friday is we are going to have our monthly overview for February on Thursday, and then Friday the 31st we will have horoscopes for February.
That means we have Tuesday and Wednesday of this week to cover the remaining transits for the week. So what I will likely be doing is tomorrow, I will be talking about the new moon in Aquarius and Mercury conjoined Pluto and doing some brief horoscopes on the whole sign house of Aquarius. And then on Wednesday, I’ll be looking at the Venus-conjoined-Neptune signature for the weekend to prepare you for that.
Then we’ll go into our monthly overview and horoscopes for the month. So that’s kind of the content outline. But now let’s go back, let’s rewind to the beginning of this sequence and take a look at each of these transits and open them up a little bit more.
So, like I said, I’m going to be saying a lot more about the Mercury conjunction with Pluto and the new moon in Aquarius tomorrow, but for now, what I’ll say is that this continues in the trend that I mentioned last week with planets that conjoin, or energy that lands in the sign of Aquarius early on. When Pluto has now ingressed to stay in Aquarius, it gives Pluto an opportunity to make clear some of its earliest intentions, or some of the work that it’s starting to do, and now really can do with complete attention, now that it’s not going to retrograde back into Capricorn.
So I’d look at this as a moment where some of Pluto’s first big implemented ideas are going to be felt and seen. A new moon also in Aquarius gives us an opportunity to see a cycle that is now firmly expressing Pluto in Aquarius’s thoughts and ideas. We’re going to see the potential for a change of mind, a change of direction, or the implementation of new things, starting points, and seating points in the whole sign house of Aquarius, and with respect to the work that Pluto is now there to do.
So it becomes a big cycle in that regard. And again, we’ll look at that more tomorrow in depth.
I want to move on and talk about what’s happening on the 30th—that is Uranus turning direct. Now for this one, I think that what is really significant whenever a planet turns direct... I’m not going to have a chance to cover this later in the week, so I’m going to spend more time on it right now. Now is to go back in time and just understand where we’ve been and what we’ve been doing since it was retrograde, because that gives us a kind of thread that you can pull through.
So let’s go back in time as Uranus is stationing to turn direct on the 30th this week. That’s Thursday. It has been retrograde since when? Well, here we are. The retrograde began right here. You can see it’s stationing and turning retrograde at the very beginning of September. So the retrograde begins in September. You can think about what kinds of things were shifting or changing for you in September, and then trace those now all the way through what’s happening right now.
Now, the way that I recommend doing that is with respect to the whole sign house that it occupies in your birth chart. So in other words, if you are a Libra rising, it will be in your eighth... let’s go through them really quick so you can... I won’t give horary scope, but I’ll just remind you:
If you’re an Aries, it’s in your second. Taurus in your first. Gemini in your 12th. Cancer, it’s in your 11th. Leo, it’s in your 10th. Virgo, it’s going to be your ninth. Libra, your eighth. Scorpio, your seventh. Sagittarius, your sixth. Aquarius, your fifth.
Excuse me, Aquarius, your fourth. Capricorn, your fifth. There we go. Aquarius, your fourth, and Pisces it will be in your third. So we do it like that, around the wheel. Focus on the content of that house. What has been shifting or changing for you since September, that process is now reaching another critical turning point. I like to think of retrogrades as times where we step back, we start reworking something, we revise, reflect, and then when the direct motion comes, we're ready to take the plot and move it forward again. So you can think about delays or setbacks or revisions or reflections or breaking something down to now build it back up. Those are themes that we can watch for with respect to the topics of the house that it occupies.
Now, as promised, I told you that I want to make sure that we focus on some of the things that are happening for signs affected through angularity. So for the horoscopes that will be affected most powerfully, of course, if Uranus is aspecting something in the early or in the later degrees of fixed signs in your chart, it doesn't really matter which house it's in, that'll be very busy for you. But if you are a Taurus rising, this is about a process that's been taking place with respect to identity, body health, and maybe core elements of how you see yourself in the world, how you act, behave, your appearance, and again, your vitality or health.
Now, if we go forward to Leo rising, we're talking about the career house. So, what kinds of shifts or changes have been taking place since September, up until now, with respect to career? So, the fixed signs are getting these in Angular houses, which is why I'm focusing on them. The shift and revolution of Uranus in the career continues for Leos. This is another really important turning point where you can take things that you've learned and start to move forward again with that revolutionary creative impulse of Uranus within the career house.
Now, if you are a Scorpio, this is in the house of relationships. What kind of evolutionary process has been taking place with respect to love, sexuality, intimacy, the need for freedom and originality, or how do we grow and individuate within the context of a relationship? That tension between individuality and dependence, those kinds of topics are being activated as Uranus changes directions again and goes forward. Now we're ready for a period of implementing new things or the end of a process of integration and revision and time for new things to come in. Again, that's often how retrograde to direct works.
Now we'll go forward to Aquarius rising. So for Aquarius rising, last but not least, we have this in your fourth house. You're an Aquarius rising, we're talking about the ongoing shifting of dynamics in the family and in the home, or with respect to living environment or family karma, parental karma. This is also about the inner life and what happens deep within you, and how that inner or private sphere of your psychology might be changing or growing or somehow creating, you might be creating some breakthroughs with respect to things like family karma, ancestral karma. It's amazing how Uranus can liberate stuck karma with respect to family when it's in the fourth house.
So think about those things for the fixed signs this week. Every week, what I'm doing is looking at the transits for the week ahead and really looking at angularity as the determining point for which sign I might highlight. At the beginning of the week, Uranus turning direct is a big deal for the fixed signs this week, so pay attention to that. Remember, I'm going to be looking briefly at the New Moon in Aquarius and where it's landing for all 12 signs, but that'll also be hitting in a big way for the fixed signs. So it becomes a very significant week for fixed rising signs, or if you listen to fixed sun sign horoscopes as well.
All right, let's go back to let me bring back all of our other players on the board here, and we are going to continue on now looking at the sun's trine to Jupiter. Now the sun's trine to Jupiter is taking place on the 30th. Oops, here we go. Let's bring this forward. Here we are. So this is taking place right here you can see Sun trining Jupiter. Now, remember, this takes place as Jupiter is ready to shift and move in direct motion again. So this trine is really about gathering useful people or resources or allies or forms of support and momentum and building toward things like clarity or coherence or understanding or wisdom.
So the connection between these two planets is really nice for starting to build a positive sense of momentum, especially on the level of mind, thought, intelligence, communication, the social dimensions of life with air signs can be really important. And this sun trine Jupiter allows Jupiter's direction change to take place, which means whatever is happening right now also reflects a significant change of direction. And having gathered insights and reflections, maybe going through a process of revision with Jupiter in Gemini, we can now reflect on where we've been and where we can now go, what direction we can head in moving forward, having gathered so many insights and maybe new resources or people or ideas.
Let's go back and take a look at Jupiter's transit now, just like we did with Uranus. So let's take a look at Jupiter's work. We go back and Jupiter's change of direction occurs right about here. So if you want to look carefully, Jupiter changes directions right around October 9 into the 10th. Right around that time, there is almost like a period of reflection, revision, a change of circumstance, a change of direction, temporary setbacks or delays, a shift of circumstance that, you know, now we have to work with until Jupiter's direct again. That's a simple way of looking at it that can also create some connective tissue. Go back to early October. Look at that whole sign house of Gemini in your chart, and get a feel for how that shift of direction is occurring.
Now, these, this is the second horoscope that I want to focus on. So what I'm going to do now is highlight for the mutable signs, how this may be affecting you. And we're going to start with Sagittarius. Actually, excuse me. Let me go back. I'm going to actually, I'm going to start with Gemini. Here we go. So we start with Gemini, and we think about this shift of direction for Jupiter taking place in the first house, which affects things like your identity, your health, your sense of who you are and what is most authentic about who you are. What have you been learning and what kinds of resources have you been gathering with respect to your identity, your sense of purpose and calling, your health, maybe your physical appearance, and thinking now about everything that's been happening since, you know, around October 9 or 10th, and reaching a point where you're ready to move forward again, with respect to things like identity, health, and sort of like your psychological orientation.
Jupiter years are often years in which we expand or grow or add things to our repertoire, or we start including more of—we start locating more of our authentic nature and learning how to include it or make it a part of who we are. There's all these parts of us that often don't have an easy way of expressing themselves. Jupiter first house years are often really good for helping us find those parts and create unity and inclusion for them. So thinking about that process for Geminis, the other thing that's interesting is, if we go to Virgos, Virgo rising horoscopes will have Jupiter in the 10th reflecting a significant change of direction with respect to things like career or work in the world, or status or reputation or notoriety or something in the workplace environment, something to do with your career, vocation or public-facing self.
So some process that's been taking place since October, and maybe a revisionary process or a period of temporary reflection or revision is now over. And we're ready for forward movement again. If we go forward to Sagittarius, we're seeing this shift of direction with respect to love and relationships, and I think that becomes another—it’s an opportunity for us to learn and grow through the kind of feedback that we receive in relationships and/or times where, you know, maybe relationships are going through a period of refocusing or learning or revision. We have to work on things within relationships and grow wiser together. Whatever the case may be, we're seeing now an inflection point where work that's been underway since October has reached a moment of integration, and we're ready to shift directions again. So that process of learning in the house of love and relationships for Sagittarians is reaching another important turning point under this Sun Trine Jupiter moment this week because it starts the process of Jupiter turning direct.
Now for Pisceans, we're going to find this in the fourth house of home and family, and things like roots, family karma, ancestry, your living environment. Expansion and growth happens in a back-and-forth motion. When Jupiter is in the fourth house, it goes through a period of growth and expansion, and then revision, reflection, refinement, and then, once again, growth and expansion. This can have a lot to do with the quality of life in the private sphere of life, like, How happy is your home and family environment? What are you doing to shift or change elements of home and family? How is home and family growing or changing? What's the wisdom there? Another really important turning point for Jupiter in your fourth house right now? So that's for Pisceans now. Cardinal signs, you don't have a super busy week, but tomorrow, when I look at horoscopes for the new moon and the Mercury conjunct Pluto in Aquarius, you will get a little bit more attention, so that you have a sense of what's going on.
I'm going to return for one last transit of the week, and that is one that I'll also be covering as the week goes on, and that is the Venus conjunction with Neptune. So another big, another big moment, by the way, for the mutable signs this week, because that'll also be Angular in the house of Pisces. So oops, here we go. So let's go forward to January 30. That is this Thursday, and we'll be looking at this as the week goes on here. Here is the conjunction between Venus and Neptune in the sign of Pisces. So I would put the turning of Jupiter direct in the mutable signs as the biggest event this week for those mutable horoscopes and the angularity involved. Angularity involved.
This is another transit. It's just so quick moving that I don't think it'll be as big of a deal as the change of Jupiter's direction, but it is still a potent transit, and one that we'll talk about later in the week in depth. What I want to say about it right now is that this is a very romantic, otherworldly, emotional, compassionate, sensitive, and sort of mystical meets romantic kind of energy. This will be coming through in the middle of the week, and I think provides a nice juxtaposition with all of the air that's in the—that's in all of the—that element of air is so pronounced this week, excuse me, that I feel like the juxtaposition of these transits in water is nice, because the intelligence and the mental side of the air signs can sometimes lack emotionality, or a kind of empathy or sensitivity that can be very rational and, which is fine, but I think this offers a little bit of emotional, romantic, sensitive, and imaginative qualities that, along with the air, could make this week a very innovative, interesting, curious, communicative week, but also a very creative one. So I like that Venus is conjoining Neptune partway through the week. I'll leave that for now, because I'm going to say more about The Venus conjunction to Neptune on Wednesday. In the meantime, I hope that you are off to a great start to your week, and that this adds just a little bit of insight in terms of where things are heading. A lot of good content to come, including, I think, some really good breakdowns of the astrology of February and horoscopes for February, so stay tuned for more, and I hope to see you all at these Speaker Series talks that are coming up, starting this weekend. So we'll see you again tomorrow. Bye, bye.
