The New Moon in Taurus

Hi everyone, this is Acyuta-bhava from Nightlight Astrology, Happy New Moon and Taurus, everybody. I hope that you guys have a really wonderful lunar cycle ahead today we're going to unpack it a little bit and give you a sense of what you can expect. Alright, so let's talk about this new moon in Taurus today. One of the really cool things about this new moon in Taurus is that the moon is exalted, exalted in Venus's sign, one of the basic ways to understand the signature of a lunar cycle. And what its story is about in the paint painting with the broadest strokes in the most general sense is to look at the ruler. So a new moon in Taurus with an exalted moon and Venus sign, it's going to be a very moon Venus kind of story. Now it was a real strong Venus story. last cycle as well, we started off with Venus in a square with Pluto, and then immediately going into conjunction with Uranus and square to Saturn. And there was a lot of dynamic energy coming from Venus last month, and there is again this month.

One of the coolest things about this cycle is watch what happens when we turn this chart just a little bit like let's go forward in time. And let's bring the sun down to setting. So if you can just imagine a line right here and we'll just say this is the western horizon. The moon in the sun as they set with the new moon here, the sunsets. It is below the horizon, but you'll notice that Venus is above it. So that means that Venus is getting ready about once it gets to about 15 degrees away from the sun, Venus will appear as the evening star. So Venus is making an appearance. Whenever a planet makes an appearance after being invisible, it has a very strong effect. And Venus's appearance in this place will mean something that's been in process or hidden will finally make itself seen and known and visible. And this is a good thing while it's in Mercury's sign and Mercury is right there. Mercury is in its own sign. It's kind of like if I'm going to make an appearance in your house and you're there and your your you know your kitchen is well stocked and I'm hungry like things will probably work out well by knock on the door and I just show up Hi, I'm here and you're like oh well I'm here to and I've got a I've got a full pantry so you know your hunger will be satiated.

This is a Venus themed lunar cycle with Mercury colouring what Venus is doing. I talked about this a little bit last week when I did a video on Venus and Mercury. So you should go back and watch that video if you haven't already. When Venus appears in Mercury's double bodied air sign, there's going to be a strong influence of Venus and Mercury coming about. So for example, we talked about games last week, we talked about technology and media, writing, studying, reading, falling in love with language, love beauty in the mind. So any any way in which you can blend or match or mix Venus and Mercury qualities together. Those are the kinds of things that are going to appear very strongly in the week ahead and tone the lunar cycle ahead in its entirety.

Now, what I find really interesting is that in addition to this in the early days of the cycle, watch what else is going to happen. Well, on May 13, you're going to see Jupiter move into Pisces as it does so it is now in what we call a superior square to the sign of Gemini, which means it has this overwhelmingly powerful and very positive influence or impact on Venus and on Mercury, both of them at the same time. So, as that's happening, you get this wave of very amplified Venusian energy because Jupiter is not only in its own sign and in a superior square to Venus, but Jupiter in Pisces is the is in the exaltation of Venus. So if you listen to me talking about Jupiter in Pisces last week, in one of my videos, you've heard me say that one of the qualities of Pisces that will define or influence the way we read Jupiter in Pisces is going to be the fact that it is the exaltation of Venus.

So Jupiter starts in a sense, exalting Venus by virtue of being in the sign of the fishes where Venus is exalted, and it's in the superior square to Venus, it doesn't have to be a degree based aspect for it to be in a whole sign aspect in ancient astrology. So you get this amplification of Venus things and then an amplification of Venus mercury things. For example, I would see people buying technology, people going out and being more social, people feeling, you know, new almost like anything tech media, journalism, ideas, information, and something with that's aesthetic or social in nature, those things are going to grow and get really amplified. Okay, so remember, though, that Jupiter is in Mercury's fall.

Let's add in the outer planets now. Mercury is starting to go into a square with Neptune. Remember Jupiter in Pisces, the sign of Mercury's fall. Venus is also later in the cycle going to get into a square with Neptune. So is it possible that there's so much amplification of Venus that it starts to flood or drown out Mercury? That's a fair question to ask because the other thing that's going to happen later in the cycle, is that Mercury, although very strong in its own sign, by the very end of the month, Mercury is going to turn retrograde so that retrogradation happens between the 29th and the 30th of the month, and it happens in a square to Neptune. So I would just say watch for a Venus Mercury amplification that gets really strong, but that may flood the the rational mental qualities of Mercury and there may need to be some pullback, revision or reversals that happen in the late May. The other thing that gives us a hint that this Venus energy could be called into question or checked a little bit, is the fact that the midway point of the cycle is a lunar eclipse, in Jupiter's sign opposite to Venus.

So where there is kind of a delightful expansion, there may be a pulling back in the opposite direction, or a little bit of like a gut check midway through the cycle, with the lunar eclipse opposite Venus in Sagittarius, that's coming through on the 26th. This is real early in the morning here, central time about 6:30am you'll see there's the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, and that Full Moon is in a whole sign opposition to Venus and Mercury. And remember, Mercury is just about to station turn retrograde and both are squaring Neptune. So the idea of disillusionment or have something that you've been really excited about getting delayed or reversed or the timing changing or an agreement needing to shift around. So I would be very careful about as I as much as I feel like the Venus mercury dynamic of the lunar cycle with Venus appearing as very positive. People probably coming out, more restrictions socially being dropped, a more stimulating and versatile and like it's a Venus that's eager to socialise in Gemini coming out as the evening star. And there's going to be a lot of creativity, innovation, lots of irons in the fire, kind of feeling with them with the sign of Gemini as well. And then it gets amplified by Jupiter, Jupiter just just really makes it all big and there's a really genetic feeling behind this lunar transit, but it is going to be checked quite intensely by the full moon, lunar eclipse. And then if you want it to drag it on even a little bit more than that, if we go past the eclipse into the the tail end of the cycle, when we're coming down on the last part of the cycle, say the last quarter moon of this cycle, here, you can see that Mercury is retrograding through the square to Neptune. And that's happening at the same time that Mars in Cancer is going to be opposite to Pluto in Capricorn. So you can see this right here. And this is coming in the very beginning of June. So there is like there's, there's a kind of a pullback or revision or reversal, and some pretty dramatic shift to everything. So I don't think it's the end of the world that that I don't want to take away the sunshine feeling from this lunar cycle. But what I would say is, things are gonna feel pretty high up until about the midway point of the cycle midway point to the end of the cycle a little bit more dramatic and cathartic and challenging.

But then things do pick up again, for example, if you move ahead, by the time that we get to about June 10, the next eclipse is going to coincide with Mercury, at the heart of the Sun cazimi you know, in its own sign, so it's, it's, it's a pretty protected mercury throughout all of this. So whatever revisions or reversals come up, my thought is that some of them may involve some more intense emotional catharsis, especially through the first 10 days of June. But then, after that I think there's a feeling of everything lifting significantly, by about the summer solstice, you're going to see Mercury, stationing and turning directors right after the summer solstice. Venus is in cancer with the sun at that point in time. And finally by about the summer solstice, moving through this kind of final catharsis with Pluto, that completes some kind of process. So yeah, so the only my only I feel like the most general advice that I have for the cycle ahead is don't buy into the noise and the hype too quickly, be moderate and a little restrained with how much you let yourself go out and get overwhelmed or excited by the early part of this moon cycle. And know that Venus is going through a process overall good things but checked a little made more a little bit more realistic, checking in as to whether things are real or not are trustworthy or not. And the full process of that will complete itself by about the end of June. So anyway, we'll be tracking all of that together. But just to give you that kind of big picture feeling for the moon cycle ahead.
