“A central idea in the oracular tradition is that a celestial omen, like a comet, arrives not to deliver a simple message, but to act as a mirror for the human soul. We project our deepest questions onto its luminous passage: Are we alone? Is the cosmos meaningful? Yet, the omen itself remains silent, asking us instead to listen for the answers that can only arise from a contemplative life. It invites us not to decode its physical nature, but to observe the nature of our own curiosity, our longing for enchantment, and our capacity for awe.”

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today I'm going to respond to people who've been asking me questions about three i Atlas a comment, slash interstellar objects, slash we don't know what the hell it is that's been traveling through our solar system.
I've been getting comments and or questions, I should say, in the comment section of YouTube for weeks now, asking me to give my thoughts. I have not wanted to do so until I've spent some time thinking about it, doing some research, catching up with all of the news, which is not something that I had time to do, and not necessarily the it's not something that I find naturally as compelling or interesting for some reasons that I'll explain as we go.
But I also think that, you know, comets have a long history of being relevant astrology omens in the history of astrology. So, yeah, I think this will be fun to talk about today, and I'll kind of give you what I'll give you my thoughts on it, but I'm just one astrologer, so certainly I can't claim that I have a complete or full understanding of of this object.
I have the position of being an interpreter of astrology omens. And so I'll give you my perspective as an interpreter of astral omens. And that's about the best I feel like I can do, because it's a mystery, isn't it, these things are so mysterious and so interesting, and I think they draw the attention and interest of people from all over the planet because they speak to the human imagination.
They speak to the heart and soul. They speak to our need for answers and truth. They speak to our desire to live in an enchanted Cosmos that's filled with divine significance. They speak to our desire to not be alone in the in the cosmos, and to meet other beings, perhaps.
So all of those things, to me, are, you know, important, important to consider. So I again, I hope that you'll enjoy this today, before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe, share your comments and reflections. What do you think this object is? How have you been engaging with it or not? Tell me your thoughts in the comment section. I'd love to hear from you.
You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website, which is Nightlight astrology.com no promotions today, because it's a weekend episode. Let's get into it.
So let's just set the stage here. People are fascinated about this interstellar object that's being called three i Atlas. And I think people are fascinated by it for many good reasons, many reasons that I just want to start by validating as important parts of our human spiritual quest for meaning, for purpose, for direction, for wisdom.
Whether, I mean, people have been talking about this, is it an alien spaceship? Does it involve hidden technology? Are there cover ups? Are there, you know, lizard soldiers on board, or, you know, so everything from Super apocalyptic to, I think, excitement and you know, so there's, there's a level of like sensationalism that can surround things like this.
People get really conspiratorial. There's also, I think, a genuine spiritual curiosity and fascination when a comet or an interstellar object appears in our solar system. For people who are interested in astrology, it's not surprising that this would be of great interest, because we are interested in celestial omens.
That's what astrology has been for 1000s of years. So why wouldn't we be interested in a comet or a bright object flashing across our sky? Why wouldn't we be so all of that, to me, is interesting if this served no other purpose, if there was no other inherent meaning, or nothing ever came of it in any way that we could tangibly perceive, other than millions of people meditating on the meaning of an object in the sky, I, as an astrologer, would be quite satisfied with that result, because I think that kind of meditation brings us back into an enchanted cosmos.
It's the same thing that I see in the eyes of my children when telling fairy tales, or, you know, getting into that kind of mythopoetic imagination that children are very aware of exists in some way, in some way that's right here in this tangible world.
And, you know you can tell that kids know that fairy tales are sort of real and not real at the same time, and that is how many mystical levels or layers of experience work you may, for example, have a psychedelic experience or an experience in a state of meditation that ushers you into a different realm.
And you sense this realm has always been here. This realm is right behind where I look around at the world with my naked eyes, and I don't see it, but it's there, and I know this. But then you come back. You come back into your linear body after a psychedelic experience. Altered state and or even dream time, and you come back to linear, waking reality, and you can slowly start to forget.
You can slowly start to forget. I live in an enchanted Cosmos that's multi dimensional. There's multiple forms of intelligence. There's multiple beings. The psyche is, is this layered tapestry, you know, and because we have a tendency to fall asleep and forget, I think that if nothing, if comets, if interstellar objects, do nothing other than to draw our hearts and minds back to the extra dimensions of reality that we forget about all the time, then to me, it's like Mission accomplished.
And that really is the bottom line for me, I'll just start by saying that if, if nothing else, and people wondering about aliens and wondering about spaceships and wondering about hidden technologies, wondering if there's more than meets the eye, through speculating about conspiracies, all of that, to me, makes sense psychologically, because we long to be in the Enchanted cosmos that We are in, that we forget that we're in, you know?
So just start there. Astrology has always taken comets seriously, but seriously means symbolically, not sensationally. In my view, that doesn't mean that the meaning of a comet or its appearance as a celestial Omen can't be associated with some pretty sensational events or twists and turns of plot in human life.
Certainly, they can, but the starting point of working with omens is a grounded, sober, reverent place we when omens appear in the sky. I think everything I've ever read from within our astrological tradition suggests that we stay grounded so that we can be good receivers, good listeners to what the appearance of this celestial object is saying.
Take it like this. For many indigenous people all over the planet, when something happens in nature, the river floods, or a very specific bird appears at a very auspicious or inauspicious moment, your relation to the appearance of that Omen, that sign, maybe it's an animal or or something else you're you in that moment, your duty is to be reverent and to listen, to listen with an open mind and an open heart, but because you know that the gods and higher intelligences speak through these appearances, the first thing is to not lose your head, not get crazy, not lose yourself in sensationalized emotions and wild speculations.
In fact, can you imagine an omen appearing? And maybe you're really excited, but most of the time, in the in indigenous traditions all over the world that have signs and omens in nature as a key part of their epistemological framework, these signs would be brought to an elder, an expert medicine man or woman who knows how signs speak, and whatever excitement you might feel, their role is to interpret it in a sense, from a sober, grounded, reverent, holy man or holy Woman kind of space.
There's no reason that something like this can't appear in the sky. And we can't talk about aliens. We can't we can talk about technologies, or we can talk about, you know, other civilizations or anything. But we can still do so in a way that is, uh, sort of, sort of sober, you know, that doesn't, like completely lose our heads, and because that that risks trivializing something, it risks turning the appearance of a sign from the gods, even if the gods are extra dimensional beings or something.
IT risks taking that omen or message and making it just another moment of gossip in the constant scrolling and clicking of information obsessed beings who are not awake. And we don't want the appearance of signs and omens to be that that's that's the point.
So the goal is reclaim comets as sacred omens within the astrological and divinatory tradition to meet when something like this happens. That's what I'm interested in. How can we see this as a sacred omen or sign? And to me, if that's a sign of aliens, like if it's a literal appearance of aliens, that's fine, too.
But I'm more inclined to first and foremost, seeing the appearance of something like this in the sky as a physical object with oracular meaning.
So I have a list of what to watch for given the appearance of this comet constructive meanings, as well as what to be warned of, because in the history of the appearance of comets as omens. In astrology, they have often been indicators or signifiers, like a planet of things to come, of things to watch for, a symbol that we can step into a form of consciousness, that we can see through, that the gods will speak to us through, through, in our participation with the symbol.
But they also may warn us. They comments are often within the, you know, prophetic traditions of the world. They're they are like warnings. Heed this advice. Don't do this. Be careful of that. So how did I come up with this list of things to watch for constructive meanings and maybe like warnings I cast the I Ching.
So I Ching is, like one of my go to oracles. So I asked the I Ching, what is the significance of the, you know, the three i Atlas, like, what, what, what? How should I receive this celestial omen? And how could I talk about this celestial omen on the channel? So that's what I went into my morning ritual with.
I'm going to tell you the reading that I got. I'm going to read you the oracle that I received, and then I'm going to offer you some thoughts on what the comment might indicate and what it might warn us of and I hope you'll enjoy this just one interpreter's take.
So first of all, I think it's, it really is to me, it's very special the way that this hexagram came back, the first hexagram that came when I cast the I Ching was hexagram 30, which is called Lee, or the fire, or the spark. And what's so interesting about this hexagram in the I Ching is that the trigrams show the doubling of fire or a bright, bright, big object on fire.
Isn't that cool? So first of all, I love that the I Ching just immediately went right to a hexagram that almost resembles a comet in the way that it's described, the lines of yin and yang, creating this image of a bright ball of fire.
Here's what the Oracle reads for hexagram 30, and we'll build our interpretation off from this one who seeks enlightenment and then, in turn, enlightens other. This is fire on fire. Your luminosity comes from a fire within. Be the spark that animates the world around you. Nurture your gift of charisma. Hold tight to your community and burn bright.
Clinging is the key to cultivating charisma. When you can relate to and empathize with others, you appeal to their affections, cling to show vulnerability. When you show vulnerability, you in turn, attract empathy. The spark induces euphoria to become the Prophet cultivation of charisma.
The text reads, one light after another succession of sovereigns, the Sun and Moon coalescing the eminent one illuminates far and wide in the four directions, lighting up the four corners of the world. The luminous fire burns twice, bright in twin flames, clarity and virtue. Prayers are answered, raising heifers to be cows, an auspicious Omen, fire over fire, a yin line clings to two Yang lines, one above and one below.
A darkness at the center hollow of two pairs of light. What is in darkness clings to the light. A flame has no solid form, but rather it clings to the object. It burns. Fascinating. I love this so much. I'm so excited about this because there's so many elements of this hexagram that map so creatively and enigmatically to the appearance of a comet.
I'm going to I'm going to call it that. We can call it an interstellar object. You can call it an Aquarian spaceship, whatever you want to call it. I'm going to call it a comet within our great astral Omen comet tradition.
So what I love about this is that this hexagram talks about the sage as someone who has the right fuel source within them. Where does the clarity, the luminosity, the brightness of a great teacher or great sage, or someone who's really walking the Tao or walking their their talk, where does that brightness come from?
It's like in the pictures of saints, there's a halo around their head. Where does that light come from? And in this hexagram, it talks to an inner luminosity, a fuel that isn't a literal fuel, like wood to a fire, but the brightness of spirit that when a person, it's like saying divinity is the source of all light.
And so when you cultivate the divine within you, the external appearance is of a great. Great Ball of Fire, a great ball of light. And so cultivating the right fuel means that your inner life stays connected to the Tao. It stays connected to the sage, it stays connected to divinity.
And when that becomes a practice in our life, we become bright. And so the real source of the fuel described in this hexagram is the soul's brightness, its own divine nature, and our connection to the divine within ourselves. And that is like this perfect fuel for a bright fire.
And when we cling to that goodness, that truth, that Divine within we naturally appeal to other people because we become bright and luminous. People go look at that shining Bella. Look at that. Look at that shining gal over there. She's in touch with something vital and healthy and vibrant and good and beautiful inside, and it burns brightly outside.
Well, isn't that interesting as a point of reference to a comet? The reason I say that is that this mirrors, in the divination, some of the literal features of the comet. One of the things that people have been talking about with respect to the Atlas three i is that it seems to have a strange self propelling, out gassing.
There's something about what, what or how it's burning and propelling itself that's not just gravitational, which is to say it's not compelled by something as simple. It's like saying a fire is not compelled by something as simple as wood, that this kind of fire in hexagram 30, we're talking about a spiritual light that's propelled by a different kind of fuel.
And what are people talking about with this comet in the most external, physical way? They're talking about what is propelling it some different kind of fuel or propulsion system that is part of leading people to speculate about whether it's a comet or some other kind of spaceship or what have you.
What I what I like about this is that this hexagram could be legitimizing, that this hexagram, in this reading to me, could be saying that's actually right, this is not just a comet. It's something else. It's not just fire and wood. It's not just the normal physics. There's something else about this.
So first of all, I think that's validating. It's that's really fascinating, isn't it? However, the exact same hexagram here could be warning against outsourcing, meaning to outer spectacles, because the real light is interior. Stop paying attention to a comet in the sky and the external features of its propulsion system and literal speculation about aliens, and think instead about how all of these images and speculations can act as a mirror to the exact same source or fuel that is within us.
Doesn't have to be one or the other, in my view, it could be both. But isn't it fascinating that to whatever extent we're just externalizing and literalizing all of the meaning of a celestial Omen onto its physical characteristics, maybe it's a physical spaceship, because it has a different physical propulsion system as a dip.
You know, all of that is sort of missing the point in the same exact way that this hexagram talks about not a literal fire, but the luminosity of spirit fueled not by literal wood, but by the fuel of divinity within. Isn't that just so beautiful and fascinating, a kind of double meaning, and asking us maybe to question, why, when we see something appear in the sky, do we not see it as an omen that we have to latch on to it as a physical thing with a physical explanation about literal aliens?
What if the alien is within? What if the alien is me? What if it's you? Do you see what I mean? And again, I don't think it has to be one of the other necessarily, but it's a fascinating juxtaposition that I'm not surprised that each Ching brought out so brilliantly, and in his like, you know, as I'm doing this, was asking me to meditate on I was like, Oh yeah, I love that that's really beautiful.
So anyway,
the text also speaks to one light doubling, or one coming after another. And this hexagram has a relation of the ideal way in which illuminated leaders follow one after another, whether you're a parent or the leader of a like a guild, or the leader of a government, or a king or a queen.
This hexagram talks about light following light, and ideally, sages pass their wisdom on, and their illumination becomes their students. Illumination their students to their students the king, and their luminosity becomes passed down to the. King or Queen, what have you. So this hexagram has to do with a successage, a succession or lineage of passing light on.
Well, comets have a long standing relationship with changes or successions of sovereigns and rulerships. And so could it be that this comet is appearing as so many comets have appeared at a time when there are about to be very significant changes in the landscape of leadership, a succession of kings, sages, Queens, etc.
That's not only that, not only does that have, again, a long standing history in comets as astral omens. But it would make sense within the E Ching reading of this Comet's appearance that I did, because the bright light suggests in the hexagram bright lights following bright lights, meaning a succession of luminaries, a succession of kings or queens, or changes in Kings or Queens, with the idea being that the ideal kings or queens should be luminous representations of divine knowledge and wisdom.
They should lead wisely, and if they don't, they'll be replaced. They'll be ousted. And sometimes omens like that show up in the history of astrology as reminders that like, if you're not serving heaven, so to speak, as a ruler, you will eventually you know that that karma will catch up to you.
That's a fascinating interpretation that I'm not at all against. It would make perfect sense, really, for the appearance it has, for the appearance of many comets, and it makes sense within this particular I Ching reading.
Now the changing line was number four. I'm going to read you the fourth changing line of hexagram 30, which reads sudden and swift, bursting forth unexpectedly as it burns, as it dies, forsaken and left behind unexpected, unavoidable events. Although traditionally, this line is often interpreted as interpreted as prognosticating a natural disaster.
The text itself is vague. On that front, the structure and tone convey a lament. The Vision conjured is that of fires burning villages, villagers dying, villagers abandoning it all and fleeing. However, note that the Oracle does not explicitly state that the matter is ominous, nor are there mentions of misfortune at the fourth line, the lower fire, trigram, has been consumed entirely by the upper fire, resulting in a formidable Blaze.
At this juncture, the line points to a moment of escalation and is intense, rapidly expanding power. But this is both a power of destruction and a power of creation. The stage of this stage of life is one of trial by fire, where divinity is testing the limits and heights of your abilities.
A trial by fire is a trial of character refinement. When you have passed this stage of your life, you will be purified and as it burns, as it dies, as it is, forsaken at every turn, the gods and your ancestors are watching over you. No one will let you fall.
That's the fourth line within the hexagram that was changing, leading to hexagram number 22 which I'll mention to close. But first of all, there are a number of portions of this line text that I think could speak to literal prognostications of the comet in the sky right now, so sudden and swift bursting forth unexpectedly as it burns as it dies.
This is actually an allusion to some of the features of a comet its tail. I know this one doesn't exactly have a tail, but you get the idea. The idea is that the sudden, Swift bursting of light and then quick dying can be about things that rapidly escalate and create change, sometimes creatively and destructively simultaneously.
It can speak to things like trial by fire and so forth. So this text, also in particular, has an allusion to a natural disaster. Comets, for a long time have been prognostication, prognosticators of natural events like natural disasters. And so would it be? Would it be, you know, like out of the question that this comments appearance coincides with a natural disaster, a major escalation of world events and energies, so to speak, or some kind of trial by fire that we go through collectively?
No, I don't think it would be out of the historical picture of what comets represent, nor would it be out of the scope of what this comet represents, according to the reading that I did so, escalations of energy, trials by fire, natural disasters, things that can be very destructive but creative at the same time because of how quickly and dynamically they move.
There could be humanity might be entering an escalating like an escalation or a purifying escalation phase. Let's call it that crises that refine, uh. Rather than ruin. But you get, you see, you can kind of see the tapestry of images that come up with that line change, things that burn quick, bright, fast, maybe destructively or creatively.
It can suggest, again, escalations, trials by fire, natural disasters, things that birth burst forth very suddenly and brightly, creatively, but sometimes destructively. All of that has a link to the image of a comet, especially often as comets will sort of have these big cloud explosions around them, or tails, that sort of trail.
We don't mean some of those features aren't necessarily a part of this comet, which makes that that also makes it very interesting, right? But there's an ambivalence about the power of the fire in a comet that is at play in this line. That's the point.
Now the resulting hexagram is hexagram 22 I'm going to read you that hexagram next, just to show you the change, hexagram 22 is often called grace or adornment, but this translation is called luminosity, your public image now suffices for the small undertakings, but the large undertakings will exceed your beauty and grace.
A personal journey will strengthen your luminosity. Strive to burn brighter, but through little steps, day by day, to amplify your luminosity. Seek advanced development of your talents and skills day by day, the time for acquiring knowledge and experience. Knowledge is your beauty, experiences Your Grace, be luminous.
What I like is that this hexagram fire at the base of a mountain is talking about, how do you develop that real, authentic brightness? There's a way in which this hexagram points to external adornments and the superficial appearance of brightness, the superficial and sensational.
And so here's another illusion to fire, but it's drawing us to think very carefully about the difference between something very external, sensational, bright but not substantive. And on the other hand, what is required of us to develop a real, strong, powerful inner light.
How do you do that through small, everyday, consistent acts of devotion, inner cultivation, the development of knowledge, the development of inner light and beauty. Same exact space that hexagram 30 is telling us is the true source of the fuel. That's where the fuel comes from for the massive, big light.
This one, this hexagram, also about fire, but drawing us to the difference between fire cultivated through small, little things every day over a long period of time, versus things that are bright externally but superficial internally. To me, this is the
the world needs the daily practice of spirituality more than it needs big, bright comets. That's my honest opinion. I'm not going to blow smoke up your ass. That's what I really think. That's what I really believe, because that's been my practice, and that's been, if there's any light that I have to shine at all in the world that's even a little bit bright, it comes from that it, it it comes from all of the days in meditation.
It comes from going to the gym, it comes from eating right? It comes from getting enough sleep. It comes from doing that work. It comes from going to therapy. Comes from continuing to try to cultivate my best self in little moments, day by day, any brightness I have as a content creator, as an astrologer, as an interpreter of astral omens, any brightness I have to provide the world comes from that inner source, and the only way that's been developed is through small things, day by day, not Getting caught up or lost in sensationalism, not getting caught up in big, huge, aggrandized explanations.
That you know, in a way, I feel like, sometimes I feel like we want these comets to bring us to some place that we can only get to if we start tuning our consciousness to that space in each new moment, like presence is how we meet other beings.
You know, all of the great sages and mystics that have been in touch with intelligences and voices and streams of wisdom from around the galaxy, let's say they're getting there because they sit quietly and they listen, and sometimes I can feel us aching and wanting these big celestial events to somehow bring us all there very rapidly.
It's the same impulse that keeps us thinking about end dates on the calendar and apocalyptic revelations and massive. Instantaneous, collective leaps in consciousness. And I love a good action movie. I love a good thriller, you know. I love a good adventure story. And if something like that happens, I wouldn't.
I'm not against the possibility that something like that could happen. Not against the possibility Pluto and Aquarius. Heck What if it is a spaceship, you know, and it lands and we were meeting aliens? I wouldn't be surprised. It wouldn't surprise me, not based on the experiences I've had or the things I've seen in my life, especially long standing, you know, experiences with Ayahuasca.
I'm open, but I can't help but wonder if like that hexagram grace, beware projection, beware escalation, beware externalization of meaning. Beware of things that look bright but are vapid and empty inside. Cultivate inner luminosity. Cultivate humility, cultivate grace, cultivate curiosity. Stay curious.
We don't need more cosmic click bait. You know, not in astrology, excuse me, we don't need more sensational cosmic click bait. We just we could use more of the simple cultivation of brightness within that in time, if we keep working on will become truly great, as bright as a comet.
And then we will be the ones that will our it'll be our brightness as people, as a civilization. More and more of us doing that work that become the change, that become the omen of change, we're it. But anyway, I'm preaching like a prophet and about to get burnt up by the very comment I'm talking about.
So let's end it there. I hope that this was useful, just one more perspective to add into the mix of how you're working with or thinking about the appearance of this beautiful celestial object. What a privilege that we get to contemplate something like this, and hopefully on some on a collective level, it has the effect of lifting our gaze back up to the heavens and back into an enchanted Cosmos again.
If it does nothing but that, who cares what it is? It's done its job. The aliens are like Good work, everyone. We got you to contemplate infinity. So anyhow, I'll end it there. I hope you're having a good one. Tell me what you think about all this in the comment section today. We'd love to hear from you. We'll see you again tomorrow. Bye.
