What if the quietest moments in the sky held the most intimate conversations with your soul?
Right now, Venus is moving through the final degrees of Libra – a threshold space where something is asking to be completed, released, or brought to rest.
In this video, I want to show you how we can take what looks like a minor transit and open it up into something richly alive. Using Sabian symbols, a single asteroid named Requiem, a Tarot pull, and the I Ching, we'll explore what it means to intentionally focus your astrological attention – not because a transit is "big," but because you choose to meet it with depth.
This is an invitation to slow down, to listen, and to discover that even the subtlest movements of the planets can speak directly to the patterns unfolding in your own life. If you've ever wondered how to work with asteroids, fixed stars, or symbolic systems alongside traditional astrology, this episode offers a practical and poetic doorway.
If you find value in this kind of reflection, please subscribe – it helps more than you know.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we're going to continue looking at Venus moving across the anaretic final degree of Libra, and we're going to look at this in terms of some surrounding Sabian symbols, an asteroid that's actually conjoined with Venus right now, a tarot pull, and I want to talk specifically about how you can zoom in on what to some people might look like minor astrological events, and see that there's a lot more there.
I am not someone who always uses the Sabian symbols or asteroids or fixed stars, but they do serve a purpose, and they can be really interesting when applied in very specific kinds of situations, and I want to show you what I mean by that today. So this will hopefully give you some tools to work with on your own in other astrological settings or other astrological transits. In addition to focusing on this one in particular, using some unique tools, that'll be our agenda for today.
Before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe, share your comments, your reflections. It's always really good to hear from everybody. Also, subscribing is free and it helps us a lot, so take a second to do that if you haven't yet. NightlightAstrology.com is our website. A couple of brief promotions for the day: our year one program is back open for enrollment. It starts in November. Go to the courses page, click first year course, scroll down. You can learn everything there is to know about it.
Starts November 14th. Early bird is open. The early bird sale and registration is open. You save several hundred dollars off. Our prices are going to be going up slightly in 2027, so it's a great time to join the course and to save on the cost of the course. The Kickstarter coming up in the fall will also be a time to save on all of our programs before that price increase in 2027. First time in a very long time we've increased the program cost, so I want to make sure everyone knows that it's going up slightly and have a chance to save.
But at the end of today's content, I'll also give you a video telling you everything you need to know about the year one program. So if you want to stick around and listen to that, you can go to book a reading, click readings with Adam. My readings are back open, so if you want a reading with me, you can pick an oracle reading. Tell me whatever you want me to look at, and I'll get going with an analysis of your birth chart. I might add in the I Ching or Tarot as well.
There's also need-based astrology readings with our staff that you can check out, and then don't forget that our annual retreat is coming up next August. We have an informational meeting about that retreat taking place on September 27th. Click on annual retreat. The date, time, the Zoom link for that informational meeting is there. So if you want to learn more about that training program and retreat here in the Twin Cities next August, you can do that, and then remember, every day at Nightlight we have free meditation, community quiet every single morning. That's free for you. I hope you'll take advantage of it.
Okay, on that note, let's bring up the real time clock, and I want to talk about – I mean, this is going to be really practical in terms of looking at a transit that is there for all of us right now, but I think it will be instructional for people who practice astrology and might want a way of using things like asteroids or Sabian symbols or fixed stars, the Tarot, the I Ching, alongside of astrology. So I'm going to give you a few tips and tell you why I chose to look specifically at this anaretic moment for Venus in relation to some of these other techniques. The basic idea here is that – get my notes up. Sorry, I thought I had my notes, and of course my notes are here.
Okay, so I think one of the things that happens is that people genuinely think that we have a list of what we think of as the big transits that we ought to talk about first, and reliably eclipses or big oppositions from Pluto to a planet in your natal chart, or Uranus crossing your midheaven – they're like in the textbook. They're line one A. You know, astrology gives us a technical approach and a hierarchy of importance, concentrating attention on certain things versus others – that is a normal, healthy part of astrology. Otherwise, we would treat everything like it was equally as powerful, and that's just not the case.
However, astrology is also a kind of ritual technology for concentrating divinatory attention. What do we mean by that? We mean that many transits that are not as high on the pecking order can become louder, brighter, and more important because we establish a ritual connection with them, and you can do this intentionally. It's sort of like, you know, here's a transit of Venus that's a little bit more interesting. Is it the world's biggest Venus transit? No, compared to say Venus's upcoming station to retrograde – that'll probably be a transit that many more people feel, or it'll sort of pop louder than Venus just crossing the 28th and 29th degrees of Libra.
However, one of the ways that that transit across the anaretic degree – the 29th degree, but let's just call it the 28th-29th degree for Libra, the bound of Mars – one of the ways that that can become a lot brighter and more vivid for anyone who studies astrology is by focusing attention on it. Attention is something you can focus on by actively meditating on it, thinking about it, talking to the planet, and ritualizing the time period of the transit, even if that transit isn't as big as Uranus conjoining your ascendant, or an eclipse on your Mars, or something like that. So your astrological attention can be focused using different ritual tools and procedures.
So we have a whole history of, you know, planetary theurgy, where you can pray to planets, you can offer them things, you can talk to them, you can bring offerings to a home altar, for example, and that's obviously something that's been done for a really long time, both in the East and the West. But another thing you can do to bring attention to it is to delve into the use of different tools that bring forth and kind of amplify and concentrate the power of individual degrees or things happening in very tight little windows of time or spaces. It's almost like a microscope tool. But once you zoom in with the microscope, there's a lot more there.
Putting something under a microscope, amplifying its importance, can be done by adding in things like the Sabian symbols, transiting asteroids, a tarot card pull, an I Ching reading, and so forth. So what I want to share with you is this morning I performed that exact kind of ritual amplification around Venus, and I want to show you how it works. And you can take from this what you will. I don't think of this as objective, concrete information that's going to land the same for every person. Probably this will be most relevant for me because I did it, you know.
But I think because I did it with the audience in mind, and I know that there was archetypal value in these things happening for everyone, but that it will largely depend on something happening so quickly in such a tight little window compared to lots of other transits that are bigger, slower, heavier. It'll probably make more meaning in your life if you are similarly focused in on this. If you listen to this whole talk, take it in, contemplate the symbols, then they'll probably speak. That's because we're doing divination. What is divination anyway? Divination is a way of seeing the cosmos as sentient and alive, and meaningful invoking of symbols around events and timelines. Ritual has a way of amplifying the feedback of the universe in response to a moment in time and space that we're experiencing. All of that is sort of a divinatory framework.
Now, let's take a look at this late degree of Libra, and I want to show you what I did. So the first thing that I did was I just looked very briefly at the last three Sabian symbols, and I thought this was interesting because we're crossing through three degrees – 27, 28, 29, up to 30 – where we have certain Sabian symbols correlate. Now, if you don't know what the Sabian symbols are, they were sort of clairvoyantly channeled images for each degree of the zodiac by – I think she was a psychic or a medium. I don't remember her name, but anyway, they've been around for a long time, and I'm sure I could find them. Okay, here it is. Yeah, I wrote it down.
Clairvoyantly received image one for each degree. Mark Edmund Jones worked with the clairvoyant Elsie Wheeler in 1925. She supplied the images, and then Mark Edmund Jones recorded them and provided interpretations. And then Dane Rudhyar developed a famous book of interpretations, philosophically and spiritually as well. That book is called An Astrological Mandala. All right. Well, anyway, the three Sabian symbols around this point – let me get them up. Okay, so for Sabian symbol Libra 28: "A man in the midst of brightening influences." Number 29: "Humanity seeking to bridge the span of knowledge," and 30: "Three mounds of knowledge on a philosopher's head." Those are interesting.
What I focused on in particular was the second one. So the second – "Humanity seeking to bridge the span of knowledge" – is right about where we find Venus right now, and then moving into the final image of Libra 29 between 29 and 30 – "Three mounds of knowledge on a philosopher's head." So what this does for me is not – it's not like this is what's going to happen. It's more like a clue or a riddle that helps me to start focusing on what's present right now in my life. So I start thinking about where is there a gap, and we're trying to bridge that gap from one kind of understanding to another kind of understanding.
I talked, for example, yesterday in our exploration of anaretic Libra with eventual retrograde coming up, as perhaps a place of trying to reconcile differences, mediate, or come to a resolution, negotiate a contract. So this idea of 28 Libra being – to 29 being about humanity seeking to bridge the span of knowledge – could be about what kind of knowledge is passed from generation to generation, or different kinds of understandings that we need to bridge together. Archetypally, you can see how that starts to resonate with different perspectives. And if I'm in the midst of some kind of negotiation, or if I'm trying to reach an understanding in a key relationship, it helps me to start seeing the moment as potential for bridge building, or a kind of collaboration of different perspectives that might be trying to come together.
Now, then, what I can do – and I'm going to show you what I do – is I'm going to add another layer, and I came over to the Tarot, and I said, "What is the bridge? What is this moment? What is this space? What is this anaretic Venus in Libra like? What's going on here?" And just play with the symbols again, and ask them to continue elaborating. And here I received the Three of Pentacles, and the Three of Pentacles is a card that I think bears some resemblance to the Sabian symbol and some of the archetypal symbolism of the anaretic Venus in Libra. And here you can see someone on the inside of maybe like a church or a monastery or some kind of building, and he's doing work, and there's two people who are showing him the plans and sort of showing what they want.
And you can see coordinated effort in this card. You can see collaboration. You can see maybe different skills and a skill set and a vision trying to get on the same page. But you see how effort is trying to be coordinated, and some kind of collaborative agreement is taking place. Some plan is being mapped out and translated into some kind of form. And the three suggests, yeah, the bringing together of differing perspectives. So all of these things really start to help me see what's going on and notice how I don't need Venus at the last degree of Libra to be at the very top of everybody's astrological list of importance for me to focus more deeply on it and for it to suddenly open up a lot of depth that's really there in everything, but it requires that you at least enter into it ritualistically. Some things require that a little bit more than others. It's like it's a quieter transit, but it has a lot of depth to it if you sort of open it up more.
Now, another way of opening things up, quite honestly, is to look at asteroids. Not because I think of the asteroids a lot like fixed stars or a tarot card or a Sabian symbol – it's another piece of information that can sort of augment or amplify the symbolism of the planet. I found this really fascinating as well. The asteroid that is at this 29th degree – at the 28/29 degree at the same time that Venus is – is an asteroid called Requiem. There's another one called Asclepius as well, and I thought about going down both paths, which you could easily do, but I ended up going down this one.
So Requiem is the name of the asteroid that Venus is conjoined with in this space. Does that mean that Requiem is suddenly the new Pluto or something? No, you don't have to. I don't think it's particularly helpful to try to parse through asteroids like that. In my humble opinion, they are like fixed stars or Sabian symbols. They're like different things in our toolkit that can adorn and deepen and create layers of meaning. So, asteroid Requiem – I think about the word a lot. It comes from the Latin, and it means rest, repose, respite, or relief. And so it can mean rest, quiet, stillness, or peace. And also requiem – that word became associated specifically with death because it comes from the opening words of a traditional Latin mass for the dead.
I had to look this up: "Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine." And I'm probably – my Latin sucks – but it means "Grant them eternal rest, O Lord." So because "requiem" is like the first word of that prayer and that service or mass for the dead, it's called a requiem mass, and it's really a mass for the eternal rest of the deceased or the person who's passed. And it becomes a way of – it becomes a requiem, like a work of art, a kind of like a poem or a form of music, or a ritual of remembrance, but it doesn't actually mean death. A lot of people think requiem and they think death, but it actually means rest. And so it's about allowing something to come to rest, allowing something to pass over.
And isn't that interesting that we have at these final degrees we have the idea of Venus passing over the end of the sign into Scorpio, a place of autumn and death on a symbolic level, and we have the idea of something that is trying to reach a space of resolution and peace? So we have Requiem around the end, right? These little details can be so meaningful. It can be a really meaningful way, excuse me, of engaging with what's happening and what's there. So we have – if I start putting that together, I start thinking about coordinated effort in trying to bridge gaps and bring things to some form of rest, and there's maybe a form of release and bridging things that bring peace and rest. Maybe a touch or a hint of death, of letting go of the past.
You see now, all of a sudden, what you're looking at in this space becomes a little bit more like a tapestry of ideas and images. It becomes a really beautiful way to enter into and meditate on and reflect upon what you're experiencing right now in relation. So I also cast the I Ching, and I got hexagram number 64. Let me read you the Benebell Wen translation of hexagram 64. Sorry, let me get to it here. So hexagram 64 is a really fitting hexagram. Right away, I was like, "Oh, that's great! Totally get that one." So it's called "Toward an End." Toward an end. I'm going to read you what Benebell Wen writes about this hexagram.
"What is to be has not yet come to pass, but as you ford the river, you see the banks on the other side. You're about to peak in the situation at hand, but know that after every peak there comes a time of stagnation, and then an inevitable decline. No one is above regulation. There's an order that every one of us must follow, a higher authority that each one of us must submit to. When you forget that, then that is the start of the decline. Remember, reaching the top is only the halfway point." Here's, she says, "A little fox wades across a stream. It is close to reaching the shore. The fox's tail gets wet." So it's interesting that the final hexagram of the I Ching is not about completion. It's about incompletion, and where the end is only a beginning because there is no final end to change.
The hexagram expresses a period of transition from the peak of a situation to a time of standstill after that peak to the time right before the inevitable decline. It's considered an auspicious hexagram because it indicates that only small, reasonable efforts are needed to achieve greater success or unity. But isn't that interesting that we're talking about a hexagram that is essentially about how to complete things, and it's a hexagram that's talking about completions and transitions? Completing things, transitioning in the right way, being aware that how you finish things, even when it feels like everything's already done, but it's not quite done, is really important because you can mess everything up if you don't pay attention to details.
Isn't it interesting that we have Requiem and Venus at the end of Libra, asking for final resolution and peace, but the I Ching saying that that peace is something that has to be maintained and kind of constantly upkept? You can't fall asleep at the wheel and take for granted that peace is something that has to be managed in an ongoing way. Perspectives can come together, collaboration can happen for the sake of peace, but then ongoing maintenance will be required. Isn't that beautiful? So, what I wanted to do in this, and I hope it makes sense, is show you that – you know – is Venus in the last two degrees of Libra for three days, along with random asteroid Requiem, as probably as big and vivid as Uranus trine Pluto or the basket or the solar eclipse or whatever? Probably not for a lot of us.
We generally feel, see, sense some transits more than others, but that doesn't mean there isn't a way of engaging with really anything that catches your eye in a meaningful way. You can talk to Venus across those final degrees, and these are some of the tools that I use if and when I want to do so. So I hope that's useful for you. Also, one of the things that's interesting about a week like this as a content creator is that there's not a lot happening until about the 12th. Between now and then, a lot of things are sort of moving in a direction that they're not quite there yet. So when you're creating content like this, sometimes to be completely honest, you think, "What can I talk about?" And I thought, "Well, really, the most interesting thing happening from my perspective at the end of this week is Venus in these final degrees." We talked about that yesterday, but then I thought, actually, what do I do outside of content creation in a week like this? What does my astrological practice look like? And it looks to me a lot like how do I engage with a little window of time, you know, when nothing big is popping in a really meaningful way, that might make that transit actually very vivid.
So that's something I do that you don't often see me do on the channel because there's usually so many big things to talk about that it just doesn't come up. But that doesn't mean it can't be done or that it isn't a very useful thing to do. People frequently misunderstand me, you know, because I like to joke around a lot. So it sounds like I hate asteroids, or you know, like I'm against Sabian symbols or whatever. Even fixed stars, anything – like "keep it simple," you know. And that tends to be my approach – to keep things simple and a little bit more economical in terms of the things I choose to look at in a reading or the way that I teach. I think it's helpful because these things can overwhelm us and we can make the mistake of burying the lead a lot. You're doing a reading for someone and you're like, let's talk about Mercury's final degree in Virgo this week. You're like, hey, have you noticed that Saturn is conjunct their sun? You know, so I – but there is a very meaningful place for using subtleties, and sometimes that's what asteroids are.
Not sometimes – asteroids are huge, but the subtlety of like Requiem with Venus, a tarot card pulled for that space, an I Ching pulled for that space, etymology of the word requiem. You know, heaven is contained in a grain of sand, and that's always true in astrology too. You can pick up any individual thing, and it just sort of has infinite layers and depth if you want to go there. So that's what I've got for today. Stick around. Next, I'm going to tell you about the year one program. I hope you'll come study with us. It's a fantastic program. Early bird rate is in effect right now, so you can save on the cost of the course. See you again next time. Bye.

Thank you Adam. I collected my 32 years old son’s ashes just now so this speaks heaps today. He past on 11th, Nn, mars and moon were at anaretic degrees. Today hurts a lot, we will scater his ashes on new moon in virgo.
