In this video, we prepare for the upcoming Solar Eclipse in Aquarius by tracing its lineage back through your own soul’s history. We’ll look at the last two times the North Node traveled through this sign of the future-bringer, the Water-Pourer, and map out how the themes that surfaced then are returning now—not to repeat, but to evolve. This is about understanding the curriculum of your life: how collective purpose, disruptive ideas, and realignments in community have shaped, and will continue to shape, your unique journey.
You are invited to see this eclipse not as an external event, but as a profound internal portal. It’s a call to spiritually metabolize the desires and directions that have been quietly guiding you, transforming aimless hunger into soulful contribution.
This eclipse, and the 18-month journey it begins, asks us to consider a crucial distinction: Are we merely consuming experiences, or are we digesting them? The North Node in Aquarius points to a future we are inherently drawn to—a vision of community, innovation, or collective purpose. But without a conscious, grounding practice, that pull can feel like restless hunger. The invitation is to let these experiences not just happen to you, but to change you. To let the future you’re building be one that is not only new, but wise; not just progressive, but rooted in a deeper sense of soul.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we are going to prepare ourselves for the upcoming Solar Eclipse and the sign of Aquarius by looking back at the last couple of cycles where we had north node eclipses in Aquarius. And I'll give you some dates and timelines to work with, so that you can perhaps track what was taking place in your life during those previous periods and connect them to things that are about to happen now that will continue to happen over the next year and a half, as the node, north node, moves into the sign of Aquarius.
And this is really our first North Node eclipse in Aquarius coming up. So we'll map all of that out. I'm also going to give you five things to watch for given north node eclipses in Aquarius overall that will carry with meaning with this upcoming Eclipse, but also for future eclipses to come during this new Eclipse cycle. So that's our agenda for the day.
Remember to like and subscribe, share your comments, your reflections. It's always good to hear from you guys. If you're not yet subscribed yet, please do take a second to do that. It helps us grow so much. We appreciate it.
Transcripts of any of these daily talks can be found on the website, which is Nightlight astrology.com, I'm going to take you over there just briefly to plug a few things. You go to the website, you're going to click on the Events tab. Our retreat in Mexico is coming up in June. We still have spots available, so if you want to come join us for a week of study and spiritual healing and immersion in a beautiful location. Check that out.
Live talks coming up this month, on February 19, I'm giving a talk called psychedelics and astrology. Why they so often intertwine? This is going to be a really fun talk looking at the overlap between psychedelic experiences and astrology. Because a lot of people get into astrology through psychedelics. Why is that?
The next thing I want to mention is we are meditating every single day. If you ever want to join us for a quiet start to your day in group, no dogmas, no doctrines. Just come out. Sit quietly for a little bit, see if it helps you reset your nervous system, quiet and clear the mind a little bit to start your day.
This is my way of trying to make sure that we have daily spiritual practices available for people who are watching this channel. Because I consider this place a place of spiritual devotion. It comes from spiritual practice for me that's been daily for many years. So the hope is to provide this every day.
We're in the midst of a 40 day challenge, but we're going to end up extending that and see if we can't go every day for the rest of the year. The schedule is there. Come join us. If you want to see a little overview of why we're doing this at all, there's a video there you can watch. So yeah, check all of that good stuff out.
And finally, the reading services need based astrology readings. Those are tiered pricing so that anyone can get a reading affordably. And then I do horary readings. If I can help you out with that service, let me know.
All right, so let's turn our attention, as always, to the real time clock. And what I want to point out is that next to next, excuse me, Let's speed this up just a little bit. Next week we're going to have a solar eclipse in Aquarius. So it's a good time to be preparing for this.
That solar eclipse comes through on Tuesday, February 17, just a couple of days prior to Saturn and Aries conjoining in Neptune. Saturn is effectively the ruler of this eclipse. So the Saturn Neptune conjunction is hosting this eclipse. I think that's very powerful.
And yeah, let's take let's take a look at the fact that the North Node is in Pisces, which means it's out of sign. But this is the first solar eclipse in Aquarius, and so we're going to see that the node is actually going to change sign and continue this cycle of North Node eclipses in Aquarius in August.
What I want to do today is give you a list of things to watch for, given the the upcoming Eclipse and also the next season of North Node Aquarius eclipses, we'll talk about the Aquarius Leo access and dynamic in another episode. We'll talk about Leo eclipses in another episode today, because we have a solar eclipse in Aquarius coming up, I just want to focus purely on North Node eclipses in Aquarius and what they tend to bring so I'm going to give you five things to watch for.
But before we do that, what I want to do is also give you some timelines that you can work with tracking these same types of eclipses throughout your life. We're going to go back in time right now and show you some timelines in which we most recently had north node eclipses in Aquarius, and then go back to the cycle before that, they recur every 18 to 19 years.
So I'm only going to go back two because what's that's like 3637 years. So let's go back in time, though, and let's take a look the last time that we had north node eclipses in the sign of Aquarius. We're going to go all the way back from right now in 2026 to 2008 and 2009 and I'm going to give you some tips for tracking this.
In 2008 and 2000 Nine we had very early in the year. I'm going to back this up just a touch. You can see that it's right in the beginning of January 2008 that the North Node moves into the sign of Aquarius. And then we get our first eclipse in the sign of Aquarius, a solar eclipse right about here.
This is February 7, 2008 the eclipses then continue through 2009 let's just speed this up a little bit, and I'll show you the overall timeline. You'll see the North Node kind of moving along through the decans, always moving retrograde through the Zodiac, and then it clears into Capricorn By August, late July, early August, of 2009 so that period of 2008 to 2009 becomes a period within which numerous eclipses in the sign of Aquarius, with the North Node in Aquarius are taking place.
Now what do I recommend doing with that information? Look at the whole sign house of Aquarius in your birth chart. So I'll give you an example. I'm going to back this up. Let's see. Here we go. So there's the North Node in Aquarius. I'll just put it in the 10th house. I'm a Taurus rising so.
And we will do horoscopes for the eclipses, for the upcoming Eclipse as well. But right now, what I want you to start thinking about, if you feel up for a little homework, is what whole sign house is. Does Aquarius occupy in my birth chart? And therefore what topics would have been activated alongside of the list of five things to watch for that I'm going to give you in a moment.
Let me just give you a very simple example. One of the things we're going to talk about today will be about a sense of collective purpose informing the direction of the future, or realignments in communities, very Aquarian kinds of things. Well, this was taking place in my 10th house, between 2008 and 2009 I auditioned for and then got a spot at reality sandwich writing regular columns about psychedelics and consciousness and interviewing all sorts of interesting people about things like meditation.
I covered an Ayahuasca conference, meeting of curanderos in South America, like it was a time where the direction of my career was being, was, was transforming, in relation to my interest in psychedelics, especially, and I was leaving during that time, I was finishing graduate school and leaving the familiar, you know, well trodden path of academia that I had considered pursuing because this new sense of collective, community, purpose and alignment was coming through to start shaping the direction of my career.
During this time, I also started studying astrology, not surprisingly, right So, and during this time, I finished a book about ayahuasca that would be published by reality sandwich in an imprint that they had established with Penguin so North big, north node, kind of redirecting of career alongside of a new group, and kind of a group that had a different kind of vision for the potential of of human consciousness and so forth.
So very super Aquarian, right? But the point is that now it's pretty it's Angular in my chart. So the angular houses tend to be louder. If you have it in one Aquarius, if you're a Fixed sign rising, then you'll have it in an angular house, and that'll tend to be a little bit to be a little bit noisier.
But also, let's go back in time to the cycle before this, the previous north node eclipses in Aquarius. Go back to 1989 and 1990 Interestingly, during this time, there was also that Saturn Neptune conjunction that was taking place in Capricorn. So a little bit of sync with with these eclipses and that 89 to 90 period, which I find very intriguing in 1989 to 1990 we let's go through the timeline a little bit more carefully first, I guess.
So let's back this up. So you can see the North Node enters the sign of Aquarius around May of 1989 and then we're going to take this forward, oh, I won't go by weeks. Let's go by months. And then you're going to see that the North Node shifts into Capricorn by about January of 1991 so that's the period from 89 to the very beginning of 91 in which we have another set of North Node in Aquarius eclipses.
Now again, what I'm going to do is I'm going to think about that in terms of what was happening in my life. Uh, during that, that period of time, let's let me put Aquarius on the 10th here, so you can see the how the exercise works. So again, back in my 10th house.
Now, I was just a kid. I was born in 81 so I was nine years old. I was going into second grade, and my family, my dad received a promotion to his second church he had started in a real small town in southern Minnesota, and then he received his first promotion to a bigger church in northern Minnesota, which is where I spent most of my substantive childhood years before moving to the suburbs for high school, which ended up being awful.
But anyway, I think I've told you, and if you've read my my book before, whatever, you know that story. But so the North Node in Aquarius during this period of time for me, coincided with a new community that I entered into, in a school, in a church community that would shape the direction of my life for many years.
And so the North Node introduced a new community into my sphere of life that would have a great impact on me. And it still was. I mean, it wasn't like I was actively shaping my career During this time, although I was certainly a lot of seeds were being planted, I suppose. But yeah, you can even see as a kid, like there were things that were present, and I think, really interesting.
Okay, so the point of that exercise is that you too can track what was happening for you during those north node Aquarius periods. But what I want to do in order to make that project a little easier, and in order to help you get a feel for what might be coming with these new eclipses, let's talk about a list of things to watch for given north node eclipses.
Now I'm going to take the kind of common evolutionary perspective and add a slightly Indian twist. So the evolutionary perspective is going to be that our evolution happens. And I'm going to just summarize this as best I've understood it. I started as an EA practitioner for three, four years of my career, until I switched to ancient, Hellenistic and traditional forms.
But it's still in me, and I still love it. So anyway, the North Node view would be that our soul's evolutionary journey is shaped by the experiences that it has, and we're here to have experience, and the experience, in a way, teaches us how to gradually drop all desires except for the desire for love, unity, peace.
You know, it's like the it's very, very Buddhist in that regard, or very yogic in the sense that experience teaches us that the only thing that can really deeply satiate us is within. You know, is that God consciousness, that higher self, whatever we want to call it goddess, God doesn't matter, and that the only way to get there is through experiences that gradually help us evolve.
And the shape that those experiences take on a kind of linear timeline moving through a life as we experience it in time and space, have to do with the North Node and the sense of desire and ambition and interest and activity that it points to. I'm going to go do this. I'm going to go try this on.
I'm going to, I want to move into this type of experience. Because on one level, you know, we think that it might have something to offer, it might solve a puzzle, or it's something we don't yet know about. On the other hand, and this is where the Rahu perspective comes in from Indian astrology, unless we're spiritually metabolizing these experiences that the North Node and our desires take us in, there's really no difference between the North Node and our base urge for an unhealthy, you know, like junk food.
So you know, the desire for experience in the shape of the North Node alone is really not enough from the Indian perspective, because alone, it's just hunger, it's just thirst, it's just aimless desire that is delusional and that will only take us into further karmic entanglements and perpetuate next lifetimes and so forth.
Now believe this or not, this is just the Indian perspective. So the experiences that we have need to be metabolized with a spiritual practice, so that every experience we have is not a repression of our desire, but is also allowing desire to shape spiritual evolution. And that's critical.
So Indian astrology is a lot more clear that Rahu is just not, not just generically, some direction you go in for the sake of learning and growth. It's a direction you go in that represents an honest, an honest pursuit of desire that is actually coming up in your heart, in your in your soul, so to speak.
But it's also about learning from that now. Not just continuing down a path of endless thirst and hunger. So let's think about it that way. These evolutionary experiences that the North Node and Aquarius point to are taking us into a future that represents something we want to explore, something we need to explore, but also something that we have to spiritually metabolize.
Because this experience alone and the desires and directions that the North Node provide right now are not really the answer. They're the temp, the next template through which we're going to learn and study, a kind of curriculum, you could say, not the end goal itself, if that makes sense.
That's especially important for the sign of Aquarius. That tends to be very utopian, very futuristic, and loves to think that if I get to this final place, then kingdom come, you know. So we do have to be a little a little careful of that. But on that note, here are five things to watch for, given the North Node in Aquarius over the next, you know, year and a half, did I outline the time and space that? No, I didn't.
What am I doing? Sorry, guys, let's before I get into this list, very briefly, let's bring this up to the present moment, and let me show you when we get later in the year, we get into the month of August, you're going to see that the nodes change signs, and the North Node enters Aquarius.
Now, the North Node entering Aquarius in August is preceded by an out of sign solar eclipse this year. So we're getting started a little early, but those eclipses and the North nodes presence in that area of our charts, the Aquarius area, takes place all the way until the spring of 2028 so we really are talking from now to the spring of 2028 about a two year window in which the presence of the north node will be active, even though eclipses won't be happening all The way through that period, if that makes sense.
So okay, sorry. I had meant to cover the upcoming timeline, but I stopped on mistake after covering the previous timelines. All right. Anyway, these are the things to watch for with the North Node eclipses in Aquarius.
Number one is a sense of collective purpose guiding our sense of ambition or direction. There can be an emphasis on where maybe identity, pride, personal recognition, all like Leo, South Node shadows have been driving decisions that no longer serve the greater good. So another way of putting that is that the North Node in Aquarius tends to say, I want to find my alignment with some greater social or collective effort or movement.
I want to be more active in community spaces or shaping things on a level that's more communal, social, etc. That doesn't mean that everything about your personal will or uniqueness or creativity or even your own personal contribution is just nullified or erased. But it does mean that there's going to be an emphasis on looking for shared responsibilities, collaborations, maybe being a little bit decentered relative to something larger that you feel that you're in service to invitations to contribute skills to something bigger than yourself.
That is shaping of your sense of ambition or direction right now. So collective pulls of purpose become real strong when the North nodes in Aquarius, number two would be realignments in communities. So because Aquarius is inherently this very social Air sign and it's fixed, which means it has to do with stabilizing a sense of social belonging, which is why we so often look for communities or networks or ideological alliances and things like that with the sign of Aquarius in general.
But we then also tend to get into othering and ostracization and a feeling of not belonging or being outside, or these popular in versus out. All of these things can become really strong in Aquarius as well. So it's not all roses here, but it's social, but it's not intimate, like the moon is.
And this is really important, because it's really about systems of belonging, culturally, ideologically, conceptually, systematically. So anyway, the point being that the North Node eclipses will bring more rapid periods of changes in which groups or audiences or professional networks you belong to and why the role you play in them, and maybe leaving behind different communities or social atmospheres that don't feel properly aligned.
And also, again, just like a hint of the Leo in the background the south no Leo like where has the cultivation of your unique sense of identity led you to need a realignment in where that identity is best placed or where it best shows up? So you can also find yourself being called toward causes, movements or circles that suddenly appear.
On the radar become like an important sense of realignment. I think back to the 2008 nine period when I was had been really identified with an academic life path, an academic community and academic peers and professors and English departments. And then all of a sudden, reality sandwich came in after progressive encounters with Ayahuasca ceremonies and psychedelic entheogenic culture, meditation, yoga, astrology, all these things started entering my life because of progressive work with Ayahuasca.
And all of a sudden, a sense of alignment with those spaces started redirecting my career. And that's how I became an astrologer that was North Node in Aquarius territory, in my tent that came in, you know, very swiftly during this period and sort of realigned things. It was a little challenging too, because it mean, it meant leaving a kind of world and a social habitat behind for the sake of something that felt better or more appropriate.
Number three, disruptive insights that break old patterns, or let's call it, disruptive insights and paradigm changes. So Aquarius, if I had to put it simply, Aquarius is not so much about emotional processing, as much as it is about new concepts, new ideas and a new sense of direction that is paradigmatic, but rooted in ideas, thoughts, intellectual awakenings, insight, inventiveness.
So I like, for example, you know, to me, the contrast between what was intellectually stimulating at the time with the reality sandwich community that I was entering, writing about all these interesting topics, and was a stark contrast to what felt intellectually kind of boring to me, which was like university culture.
And I don't mean any offense by that's just where I was at so disruptive insights and ideas and new ways of thinking that that break paradigms or that create new narrative arcs. So a lot of it's very I don't want to say it's just conceptual, but it's like an innovative mental awakening where you get excited by ideas that are shaping things, not so much emotional breakthroughs as mental, ideological, technological, paradigmatic kinds of changes, all right, number four, changes in relationship to authority or tradition.
So one of the things that happens is the sign of Aquarius, especially when the North Node is there, likes to take us in a new direction in our life, but then that Saturn ruled sense of power in Aquarius and explorations of what holds power, leadership, authority, also tradition, the status quo versus something new and progressive, the past versus the future.
And a lot of that calls into question, what models or modes, socially, institutionally, professionally, relationally, hold power and authority, and which have worked, and why and what needs, maybe like a system update. But also there can be a sense of like what, what holds structure, power and authority in my life, and is it worth revising?
It's a bit like the the, you know, Pluto and Aquarius last time it was there. You think of the Revolutionary War. It's a little dramatic. But the impulse toward revolution in power, authority, structure, and how it's all held together, or how it operates a bit like, you know, the Revolutionary War was about a different form of government, as opposed to monarchy, democracy.
So sort of paradigmatic changes in relationship to what holds power in your life, what holds authority in your life, where tradition is held in your life, those things become like it can be a little provocative, but that's where the change tends to point us. The change is moving in that direction.
That's what I'm trying to say. Okay, finally, a call toward a new future. There's frequently with Aquarius, a very strong ethical, moral, principled, philosophical undertone that you have to act this way to because you're being called to be a steward for something bigger than yourself.
I talked about this at length when I spoke recently of kenosis and the water pourer and Aquarian figures as being somewhat sacrificial. There's a very strong kind of ethical, more moral, philosophical, principled, in even like ideological sense, that this is the direction that we need to take, and there's a necessity behind it.
And so it's like a call to action based. On principles that drive us toward a future that we have to start moving toward, because there's a sense that there's a sense of moral or ethical imperative at play. A moral imperative, there's a sense of responsibility toward innovation, reform or progress towards some new kind of future.
And that can be very personal. Doesn't necessarily have to be collective, either, but it often will intersect with things that are happening in the collective so these are the kinds of themes that I would recommend watching for as this eclipse comes through next week.
As we sit here today, you know, we're still a few days off. We have five more days until the Eclipse, but we're in the, you know, the late stages of the moon cycle, and just, it's just around the corner now. So it's good to start thinking about these things now, in many ways, all of this, we've been prepping for all of this with a long series of transits through the sign of Aquarius that activated Pluto, that went through squares to Uranus.
Some of that still happening. The Eclipse will take close in a very close square to Uranus. So a lot of this becomes even more dynamic because of that. And this eclipse is hosted by Saturn, Neptune and Aries, so who are converging three days after the Eclipse, powerful time, powerful time, powerful moment.
So all of these themes that we're looking at can take on a lot more fiery intensity. They can speak to like Gestalt, like just instant shifts that are about the dissolution of boundaries, or the need for a new kind of boundary, or acute moments of division and and conflict that feels really ripe somehow.
That's the Mars, you know, Saturn, Neptune space, the square to Uranus, can also feel like the mental and intellectual framework is speaking to the sort of peaceful need for security and well being physically. So it's interesting because there's some insistence behind this particular eclipse that the body not be taken for granted during a process of change, that its nervous system, its sense of peace and stability, is not overly disrupted in the name of progress, which sometimes Aquarius is not so aware of, it just kind of leaves its body.
So, so to speak, all right. Well, that's those are my thoughts for today, Hilda. I think Hilda was dreaming a little bit while I was we were taught, we started talking about revolution, and I think I saw her like maybe having a dream. Anyway, she just took a deep breath.
I hope you are all having a very beautiful day, and we will see you again tomorrow. Bye.
