What if the hardest battles you face aren’t obstacles to your becoming, but the very fire that forges who you’re meant to be? This month’s astrology invites you into a profound tension—between the impulse to assert yourself and the resistance that shapes you, between the courage to act and the wisdom to know when to wait. In this episode, Courtney, Shahrzad, and Bianca walk you through April’s sky, where the warrior meets the teacher, and the question isn’t whether you’ll face limitation, but whether you’ll learn to interpret it not as rejection, but as instruction.

Together, they explore the raw, individuating fire of Aries colliding with the protective waters of Cancer, and what it means when two life-giving forces square off. They trace the Mars‑Saturn conjunction in Aries—a moment where impulse meets authority—and ask what it looks like to slow down the sun itself through cunning, not force. With Venus conjoining Uranus in Taurus just before Uranus enters Gemini, they offer a glimpse of a final blessing: a reminder of what all this striving is ultimately for. And beneath it all runs a thread about the sweetness of wounding, the ache of a courageous heart, and the simple truth that sometimes the most precious things are the ones we have to sacrifice for.

The wound is the place where the light enters you. There’s a tenderness in bravery that we rarely speak of—the way anything born anew requires us to first make a rift in the space of our lives. This isn’t about glorifying pain, but recognizing that your capacity to feel deeply is also your capacity to love, to create, to become. What breaks you open can also let something sacred in.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Hello everyone. Welcome to our episode today for April's forecast, it's going to be me, Bianca and Courtney today. Hello, Courtney and Bianca.
Courtney Chandrea
Hello. It's good to be.
Shahrzad
How is it going? Good? Yeah. So it's, it's going to be the three of us, because Adam is currently on vacation and could not be here with us today.
Unfortunately, we're going to go through the astrology of April. It seems to be a busy month, so stay tuned. Please make sure you like and subscribe.
So we're just going to jump into it. I'm going to share my screen here. So the month starts with a Full Moon in Libra. I think that April is kind of like a month with historic transits happening, especially Uranus in Gemini, but there's also some nice benefic things happening.
So we have Full Moon in Libra at the beginning of the month, and its host is Venus here in Taurus. Venus is, it's at home here, and she can provide nicely to this Full Moon in Libra. And Mercury is still in Pisces in its detriment, but the host is Jupiter, you know, it's direct now, so it can create kind of like a nice, smoother vibe, in my opinion.
So the Full Moon in Libra, sorry, I think our photos are getting in the picture here. Okay, yeah, so the full moon in Libra there is kind of like that full moons are normally the culmination of energies and cycles we have that amplified energy, and it's kind of time for harvest and results. And the moment full moon is kind of like when the moon is fully illuminated and matters that kind of began in the past, and now we can see them like in a visible way. And we see the manifestations coming to the surface, like events and energies.
To me, this Full Moon in Libra, there is that access of Libra and Aries is very loud. To me. It feels like that we have Aries, you know, here that is like, likes to initiate, you know, have assertion and individual action. And Libra, that is ruled by Venus, likes to have agreements, alliances, and that maintenance and harmony.
I feel like, with the full moon here in Libra and the host, you know, being comfortable in Taurus, my attention turns towards like relationships and balancing of interests, like between different parties, like situations that maybe there is imbalance or neglect, you know, in a partnership could be, you know, romantic or friendship that may come to light. And it is like that the concerns of Venus, like fairness, negotiation, you know, is just being kind of emphasized here. And also like that balance of, like personal, you know, independence, and also like considering other people.
To me, it feels like this Full Moon in Aries tends to, like, reveal, expose or bring matters to completion, like, when it comes to like partnerships, maybe disputes that there is between individuals or groups that have become visible at this time. And also, I'm thinking of situations that maybe have been developing to, like a turning point that now they need attention, that we need to just sit with other people, like have a conversation, maybe old vulnerabilities or unresolved matters.
So yeah, this is what I think about it. And I think that one thing that is very important to me here, that stands for me is that Venus in Taurus that kind of supports this full moon. To me, it kind of feels like that those maybe things that come to light and we have to resolve them, is supported by a Venus that has a very good dignity here. And also this lunation has like a square to the exalted Jupiter that is now direct. It's amplifying the events you know surrounded and surrounding it. And as we know, Jupiter likes to increase whatever it touches, you know.
So I think as a result, those disagreements maybe promises or expectations that are magnified. The responses might be like resolved or larger than usual when they are resolved. So I think there is an important influence that comes from Jupiter here, which is like in cancer. It's exalted. And also this can moderate. I know that it's a square, but to me, you know, this exalted Jupiter that has, you know, turned, you know, is done with being retrograde. To me, it feels like there is that moderation of difficulties, and, you know, enlarging the outcome of events matters could be emotionally charged, but, but they could also bring opportunities for settlement, maybe generosity reconciliation.
There could be some overreactions, maybe, you know, but, but there is those solutions that are expanded, in my opinion, you know, you might feel like you need to reevaluate friendships, romantic ties or personal boundaries. You know, it this Full Moon kind of gives you that insight, you know, insight like about your needs and the needs of other people.
So I think a good question to ask here is like, where do I give too much and where do I need to stand firm? This is my take on this full moon, and I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Courtney Chandrea
Okay, yeah, yep, um, the questions that you ended with there feel like a pretty profound echo throughout the month. I think this question of, like, where do I give too much, and where do I need to stand firm? Is something that we should kind of stick in the backs of our brains as we go throughout the month, because I'm seeing this theme of, like, giving with that Jupiter in cancer, and some of the squares that we have to that Jupiter this month, as well as the movement between Taurus and Aquarius that we see later in the month. Kind of this question of firmness versus like, what? What needs to shift? What needs to change? Yeah, good, good questions to start with here, yeah.
Shahrzad
And then we go to April 3, that we have Mercury in pisces trining that Jupiter in Cancer. So this kind of Trine, you know, to me, has that cooperation between like the energies, because Trine is of the nature of Jupiter. You know, Mercury here in Pisces, it is debilitated, and it is in the sign of Jupiter, meaning that it feels like its action ultimately like have to answer to Jupiter's authority. And I think because Jupiter is in cancer, it's exalted here. So there is probably some constructive outcomes that come from it.
To me, it feels like you know there is some favorable circumstances for negotiation, teaching, writing, counseling or sharing of wisdom, maybe messages that can be received with greater sympathy or understanding and discussions that can lead towards solutions that benefit everyone. And I was thinking, you know, because the Jupiter in Cancer and cancer, you know, matters related to, like, family protection, you know, that emotional security, I'm thinking that might be also a theme that comes up for conversations that decisions have to be made about that.
So a few things that you might feel on this just under this transit is maybe you might find that talks with friends, family or colleagues, you know, could go smoothly, maybe misunderstandings that resolve naturally and you know, but, but people are more willing to listen and understand your perspective, or maybe like an advice that you receive that feels perfectly timed, especially regarding emotional concerns, and also conversations could carry like a gentle like you know, tone with empathy, making it easier to express your sensitive matters.
And on the same day, we have Venus in Taurus that is squaring Pluto in Aquarius. So at the same time this is happening, and Venus is as strong here in Taurus as we mentioned, she can have her natural significations, and she can operate with a stability and clarity. But there is also that tension, you know, with that Pluto contact here, Pluto corresponds with deep transformations, hidden forces, or maybe that exposure of underlying dynamics.
And it feels like, with this encounter, situations evolving like Venusian themes, like, you know, relationships, you know, like or shared, you know, like values with friends, this might undergo, like, a period of like revelation. And because Taurus, it has concerns of like resources and stability and material security, maybe dispute like over these matters or terms of agreement may emerge, but at the same time, because Venus is in her own home, it suggests that maybe what is truly stable or valuable may ultimately endure, you know, while agreements that have become like unattainable may need to be restructured.
So together, to me, it feels like there's two parallel things happening at the same time, this trine between Mercury and Jupiter supporting that dialogue, wise counsel, opportunities for understanding. And there is also, there's a square that indicates that maybe relationships or agreements may require some honest confrontation or adjustment.
So it feels like what begins as a disagreement or a pressure point could lead to maybe a clear agreement or a renewed commitment once matters are brought, you know, into the surface and discussed. So maybe also secrets, unspoken expectations or power struggles could arise, but, but to me, it feels like with this mercury trining Jupiter, this can help us express ourselves clearly and navigate the conversations wisely. And I feel like this is a time when truthful, even intense discussions can ultimately strengthen bonds if they're handled with care. So this is what I have for this transit here, beautiful,
Courtney Chandrea
yeah, we can just keep sorry. What was that?
Speaker 1
Yeah, yeah, go ahead.
Courtney Chandrea
We can keep moving along here. Our next transit takes place on April 5. We have a sun in Aries squaring Jupiter in Cancer. Shahrzad kind of touched on this a little bit when we were looking at the new moon, because the sun was applying to that square to Jupiter. But one thing that I found really interesting about this dynamic is that these two seemingly harmonious planets, Jupiter and the sun, they often get along right but here in their place of exaltation, the sun's exalted in Aries, Jupiter's exalted in cancer, there they exist in a square to each other, which I find really interesting.
This highlights a relationship of basic tension that exists between fire and water. If you look to the relationships between the fire and water signs across the Zodiac, you see that they're largely an aversion to each other. You know, look at any given fire sign, any given water sign, you'll see that it only has one square in relationship to its opposite. Fire likes to work upward, whereas water likes to sink down into things. They're both life giving, but too much fire evaporates water, too much water extinguishes fire. So it's really necessary to keep them in balance, and this theme of fire and water squaring is going to come up throughout the entire spring really, as we have these squares from Aries to cancer.
So while Jupiter is seeking to protect, nourish, integrate and soften, the sun seeks bravery, sacrifice, individuation and a sharpening of will. So perhaps the sun in the superior position here is seeking to recruit well nourished soldiers from Jupiter's army. Jupiter has been hard at work these past several months, building and nourishing new bounties, and so perhaps the sun wants some of this wealth for its own cause. Deep reserves of nourishment can be just the thing needed to fuel some brave new endeavor. But the tension here is that fire burns up water, and it takes a while to replenish our reserves, so we want to be careful about how quickly we siphon those jupiterian resources into the sun's exploits.
I think one of the big struggles we're going to be seeing here with this Jupiter is finding the right place between overprotectiveness and free flowing generosity. Cancer doesn't have that innate temperance we find in Pisces. Pisces knows when to ghost a bad situation, but Jupiter in cancer seems to have two speeds. It's either the crab claws or the milk of the mother. And how Jupiter is going to respond here depends on what the Sun is asking of it and how the sun presents its own agenda.
A life affirming venture driven by the Sun might be met with generosity. And so here, Jupiter should be careful not to overspend its resources. But on the other hand, if the sun is overzealous, Jupiter might clamp down on its hoard. But that doesn't necessarily mean that the sun's work isn't necessary. So we should be considering temperance and balance here, I think, and it is possible even in hard aspects like this one.
An example of this comes up for me pretty frequently in mothering, just like that sun in Aries, my kids are constantly asking me for support. They're asking me to help them fulfill their own agendas, but as their mother, I'm in charge of making sure that the house is cleaned, our bodies are fed, and if I stopped what I was doing every time they asked for something, we would straight up raw it. This is one of those crab shell versus mother's milk questions, because I can't wash dishes at the same time as I tie my son's shoes. So in this case, we need that protective shell so that the mother's milk is focused enough to actually tend to the needs that it's there to serve.
So in that example of the dishes and the shoe tying, if I defer my son's request for a moment, I tell him like not right now I've got to finish these dishes. Once I come to a good stopping point, I can help you. There are two possibilities that occur there. Either one, he figures it out for himself, which serves that sun in Aries individuating need better than Jupiter can in the first place, or once I come to that good stopping point, I can help him. The dishes are taken care of. I can give him my full attention. And in both cases, we have that individuating Sun receiving the support that it needs from a nurturing Jupiter, without Jupiter having to sacrifice its own agenda. So that's what I've got for that transit.
Shahrzad
Thank you. I loved the real life example that you used. It just made it very tangible.
Bianca Selene
So I'm talking next on the I've got the Mars conjunct Neptune in Aries. But that happens on the 12th, late April the 12th, and then, but before that, just a few days earlier, we've got Mars ingressing into its domicile, into Aries. So now fast forward from April the ninth to the 12th, we've got a Mars conjunct Neptune, and early on April the 13th, we've got Venus in Taurus sextile Jupiter in cancer. So we've got a few things happening around this time.
So when I'm thinking about Aries, it's a sign of the birth of self, and it's like the energy of separation, like independence, that raw I am, but you cannot become yourself without pushing against something, and that something is often symbolized by the Father archetype, the system or authority that restricts or criticizes or blocks you. And Aries energy meets resistance, so the identity is forged through that confrontation and the father, the symbolic father is both the thing that blocks but also is the initiation for growth.
So raw force can be something we can associate with a very Mars like type of energy, but raw force isn't enough, and the astrology of fate by Liz Greene, I think Adam mentioned this in one of his recent episodes this year on the podcast on his channel. So Liz Greene mentions this where there's this feminine principle the anima comes in. That's intuition, emotional intelligence and a guidance. So we got action, which is Mars in Aries must be guided by an inner knowing, the anima, the feminine, otherwise it risks recklessness or burnout.
So this Mars Neptune transit is like the warrior in the fog, striving, but silently off course, and it's different from the sun Neptune, which might confuse identity. Mars Neptune confuses action. So Sun Neptune says, I don't know who I am, but I feel something bigger, whereas Mars Neptune says, I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm being guided.
So here's the relief that Venus sextile Jupiter offers perspective and grace and like a sense of meaning, Venus brings discernment through connection with values, and Jupiter brings wisdom and a bigger picture. So together, though, they help you step back on track and see what's truly aligned and realize not every battle needs to be fought. So in this transit, Mars gives courage to act, and Neptune gives sensitivity to the unseen. And Venus Jupiter helps you orient what is real and meaningful. And Aries evolves from I act without thinking to I act with awareness. What is truly worth my energy. So that's what I have for that transit.
Shahrzad
Thank you. That was beautiful. On April 14, we have mercury that I think it's just a little bit. I'm going to just move this until we get to mercury in Taurus. I think it should be Aries. Sorry, actually it's Aries. Yeah, that's my Sunday brain.
So on April 14, we have mercury that moves into Aries. I'm just going to move it. Okay, so Mercury ingresses into Aries and then conjunct this Neptune in Aries. So this is a bit interesting, because, as you can see, we have a lot of Aries energy in the air here, like there's, it's very Mars-y mid month. And because this meeting occurs in Aries, Mars kind of becomes like central to the understanding of what's happening here.
Aries is this, like a fiery, you know, sign. It's bold, it's very decisive. So when Mercury is there, to me, it feels like communications and decisions may take on, like a more direct, urgent or confrontational tone. My brother has mercury in Aries, so I'm very familiar with Mercury's way of communication in the temple of Aries, and it is also very brave. You know, they're not afraid of saying what they think and communicating what they think.
So it feels like mercury here tends to operate quickly and assertively, favoring like that rapid decisions and that straightforward expression. To me, the shadow side of it could be that, like haste, urgency, disputes, and like words that might be sharp or impulsive, or actions that might be taken quickly before, like all information is fully understood.
And then at the same time, Mercury being here next to Neptune, that might manifest in different ways. It can indicate maybe, like inspired ideas, you know, bold announcements or imaginative plans. But it can also correspond with miscommunication, exaggeration or confusion that arises from rushed actions. Maybe one thing to watch for here is maybe careful consideration before making commitments or spreading information, especially when Mars, like dominates, you know, like this energy and also acting with patience and maybe verifying facts that may help avoid unnecessary disputes or misunderstandings.
It feels like to me, with this energy, like information may circulate rapidly before it's fully verified. You know, discernment is very important here with Neptune, they can blur things. You know, we don't know what is true and what is not. This can inspire some courageous thinking and visionary plans, but it also calls for hurtful judgments, maybe like before, like believing what we have heard.
So maybe this could be announcements that sound inspiring but they lack detail. Maybe it's promises that sound exciting, but they require follow up questions. Maybe it's conversations that escalate quickly, you know, due to misunderstanding. On the other side, it also has that like outside of the box, you know, like creative brainstorming, energy for personal projects or self expressions. But I think if applied carefully, this energy can lead to that creative breakthroughs or courageous self expression. This is what I have for this transit here.
Courtney Chandrea
Yeah, it looks great. That Aries energy, like I know, right? Just two days later, we've got that new moon in Aries, yeah, and here our host, Mars is applying to Saturn. Furthermore, this new moon takes place on top of Chiron, which isn't a planetary body we often consider here at Nightlight, but mythologically speaking, I think Chiron is a really interesting figure for this new moon, because chiron's mythological story echoes something of what's taking place with Mars and Saturn.
And when we look at this picture together with that Mars Saturn conjunction that's about to take place, the new moon on top of Chiron, there's this implication of the way that new life is both bloody and raw, but it's also sweet. There's a preciousness to it.
If we unpack the mythology of Chiron a little bit, Chiron was the son of Kronos, or Saturn, and was raised by Apollo, who's the god of the sun, and Artemis, the goddess of the moon. So like are we picking up on some of the planetary resonances here. Chiron was known for his proficiency in the healing arts. He was also really skilled in music and prophecy and archery, but one of the stories he's best known for is when Heracles accidentally shot him in the thigh with an arrow, and Chiron, despite his skill in medicine, was not able to heal himself, and because he's immortal, he was looking at an eternity of pain.
So he ended up making this bargain with Zeus, where he exchanged his immortality for the freedom of Prometheus. He sanctified his own pain, his own wounding, for the redemption of another like him, another lover of humanity, who had been alienated from his kind and left to suffer for eternity. And through this act, he healed both himself and Prometheus, not in a self absorbed, undeveloped Aries kind of way, but Aries as a necessary power of individuation, the one who sticks his neck out for the sake of what falls behind.
So with this new moon in Aries, we might be thinking of necessary sacrifices of the body, of pleasures, of emotional realities, for the sake of something greater, an eternal ideal, or the sake of fresh new life, even if we don't get to experience it in a bodily way. We might also think about the sweetness of wounding, remembering Rumi's words that the wound is the place where the light enters you. It's the thing that puts us in relationship with the world. As Rumi says, your defects are the ways that glory gets manifested. Both of these quotes come from his well known poem childhood friends, which has some really profound chironic resonances. So if you want to read that poem for this new moon, I think it's a great time for it.
But lastly, we might also remember the innate discomfort of bravery. There's a sweet ache that comes with a courageous heart, the way that anything born anew requires us to first make a rift in the space of our lives in order for that new thing to enter it. This is the impossible expansion of the pelvis, the constriction of the womb and the child's head. It's a beak cracking open an eggshell. It's light pouring into not yet adjusted eyes.
Shahrzad
Thank you. And then we move to April 19.
Bianca Selene
Thanks Courtney for that love that new moon. It's going to be intense. There's so many planets there in Aries, it's just like a whole lineup. So I think a lot of us have our eye on on April the 17th. Now I'm going to talk about April the 19th, just a couple days later, late April 19 and into April the 20th, we've got Mars, Saturn and Mercury conjunct in Aries, so that pile up that we were seeing during the new moon in Aries on the 17th, some of those planets come to a head, and they're congregating together.
So Mars conjunct Saturn, let's talk about that first, because they come to a perfect conjunction, just a little bit ahead of mercury. So Mars conjunct Saturn in Aries is essentially the process of learning. Oh, well, with mercury engaged too, it's the process of learning to interpret resistance. So remember I talked about that with the Mars Neptune. It's learning to interpret resistance, not as rejection, but as instruction. It's almost like we need mercury in the mix to help us discern so it's Mercury transforming raw will into a focused, deliberate and authorized action.
So why does this feel so challenging? Even when the malefics come together, we've got Mars as bold and aggressive and impulsive and it wants action, confrontation and movement. Saturn, on the other hand, is restrictive and disciplined, and it slows things down, like it imposes structure and enforces consequences. When these two meet friction is inevitable, an impulse meets limitation, boldness meets authority. You'll feel frustrated. There'll be delays or even outright obstacles. And if your timing is off or your action is misaligned, mistakes, accidents or blocked energy can follow.
So in Aries, this intensifies Mars' drive is amplified and eager to assert and move and Saturn resists and tests and enforces limits head on. So the result can be impatience, explosive reactions, or frustration, if we react unconsciously. But this is like where Mercury becomes essential, conscious perception allows us to step back, interpret the resistance and transform tension into precision, strategy and enduring achievement.
A perfect illustration of this comes from the Polynesian myth of Maui slowing down the sun. Maui noticed the days are too short for people to finish their work, so he a demigod, boldly decides to catch the sun and slow it down. That's pure Mars energy, action and daring, but the sun itself is powerful and untouchable, representing Saturn the natural limits that resist him. The tension between Maui's impulse and the sun's immovability creates a challenge.
Maui doesn't rely on force alone. He uses clever planning and cunningness, Mercury like strategy, to succeed. So the lesson is clear, when raw will meets limits, success doesn't come from brute force. It comes from combining bold action with insight, discipline and strategy, turning friction into a tool for growth and mastery. So that's what I have for that transit.
Shahrzad
I really loved how you know, if you could catch this one and slow it down, especially for people that have nine to fives. You know, in winter you get when it's dark, you're like, I wish I could slow down. So yeah, I love that. Thank you.
Courtney Chandrea
Bianca, maybe it's just Uranus about to enter Gemini, but I'm feeling like the Promethean myths are really strong with this one. Like the Maui story too, echoes some of that, that Promethean quality. Yeah, that's really interesting. I love stories of Maui.
Our next transit takes place on April 23 with Venus conjoining Uranus in Taurus. And when I was first looking at this transit, one of the things that first popped to my eye was that it takes place sextile to the moon in cancer, which seems to echo that previous Venus Mercury conjunction we had back in February that took place in Pisces, where the moon, during that conjunction, the moon slid into cancer and made a trine to that Venus conjunction.
And what's interesting about that, to me is because with Venus conjoining Uranus, Uranus has a way of echoing some of Mercury's significations. They're both planets that evoke the Quicksilver of the mind. They're associated with intellectual acuity and rebellion, leaps in narratives, the transcendence of mental borders, and just like that transit we had back in February, Venus holds dignity here in the place of her own domicile of Taurus, again, the moon sweeps into the dynamic from her place of domicile in cancer, making a harmonious aspect to this Venus conjunction.
So in short, we have another body wise sandwich between two feminine planets known for the intermediating and relational power of the material, kind of applying themselves to this quicksilver like really mental energy. So we might be experiencing some echoes here that were taking place back with that Venus Mercury conjunction in February, but here we have Uranus. Uranus wants speed. It wants to see things develop. It wants breakthroughs and connection points through isolated nodes. But it's in this fixed place of Taurus.
If we think about the electric properties of Uranus, Taurus becomes a really interesting place, because electricity seeks ground, but as soon as it makes contact with the earth, it diffuses, it stops acting like electricity as we know it. But in only a couple of days, Uranus will ingress into Gemini, where things move a lot quicker. Gemini expresses very similarly to Uranus. Gemini is electric. Gemini feels like the place where Uranus gets back to work.
So this transit with Venus might be something like a last blessing, a gift, a piece of guidance, reminding Uranus of what all this work is for. If you've seen the film, The Hayao Miyazaki film, The Wind Rises, we have a protagonist, Jiro, who is an aeronautical engineer who's in love with the beauty of flight, but he finds himself in a career designing aircraft for the Japanese Imperial Army.
Throughout the film, he wrestles with the levity of his own dreams and the hard edges of the reality in which he has to see them coming true. He finds a version of success in this greedy reality, and he also falls in love with a painter named Naoko, who suffers from tuberculosis. So as stakes rise with the impending World War, Jiro goes back to work, and Naoko seeks healing from a sanatorium in the mountains.
But as her condition worsens and jiro's work becomes more frenzied, she decides to find him at his bachelor pad, and they get married there that night, amidst the chaos of jiro's work and then the downward slide of Naoko's health, they find an oasis in each other, anchoring their life despite all of its difficulties, in their shared faith and beauty and the necessity of their dreams. So I think this is like a taste of what we'll be experiencing here with this Venus Uranus conjunction.
Shahrzad
Thank you, Courtney, I'm definitely going to watch that movie that sounds beautiful.
Courtney Chandrea
It is a beautiful film. Be prepared to cry.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Thanks for letting me know.
Courtney Chandrea
On the same day, Venus will ingress into Gemini, and then on April 25 we'll have a sun in Taurus square to Pluto in Aquarius.
This sun Pluto square may kick off a chain of events taking place across Taurus and Aquarius as Venus, Mercury and Mars will be following the sun's tracks over the next several weeks. Here, we might be dealing with struggles between Taurus' conservative folk values versus Pluto in Aquarius' disruptive progress. We might be seeing the hard realities of the body coming up against the permutations of the mind, the literal physical present coming up against the imagined past or future.
It's important to keep our imaginations flexible here, because we need to be adaptable through life's changes, and sometimes that means heading off change before it catches us awry, embodying transformation like that Pluto in Aquarius, but at the same time, we're always working from life's basic elements. The sun in Taurus reminds us that we're simple creatures at our essence, and it's the simplest things that sustain our life and well being. And if we lose sight of that simplicity, we lose the very foundation that we're building our futures upon.
With Taurus and Aquarius both being fixed signs here, remembering this flexibility is important. Just because the nature of what these planets are expressing is fixed doesn't mean that we have to be. It's possible that the situation we find ourselves in is not as fixed as it seems at first. So if we can find a middle ground between these two extremes, we might be feeling a little bit more balanced at this moment in time.
But if, after some reflection, a middle ground still appears impossible, take the view of deep time, because both Aquarius and Taurus embody this wisdom. Aquarius carries the mental breadth of scope to view deep time, while the earthy qualities of Taurus bears both the compost of all generations past as well as the seeds of the far future. So what does this moment in time need to achieve balance and temperance across timelines? Do you need to hedge your bets and keep your feet firmly in the earth, or do you need a little bit of disruption somewhere in order to live into a new pattern?
This push and pull is going to be showing up again and again as we experience multiple squares to this Pluto in Aquarius, and there may be some back and forth here between tending to what is literal, embodied and in the present, and to that which is imaginative, intellectual and defined by our history as well as our expectant futures.
Shahrzad
Thank you. Courtney, with the Uranus in Gemini, just ingressing into Gemini at the same time. I'm just something that has been on my mind, and I want to know your thoughts is like, I'm wondering if within the next seven years, we're going to have new ways of communication as humans that right now we cannot even like imagine, but, but, yeah, I want to know your thoughts on that with Uranus in Gemini just briefly touching on that.

Yeah, that's definitely something I've been thinking about and wondering about, especially as it makes that Trine. You know, it's like it's in a whole sign Trine, and sort of partially engaged with that Pluto in Aquarius as well. So things that, like Pluto is likely bubbling things up to the surface that we had forgotten about, like maybe lives only in our ancestral memory, or, like, you know, somewhere in the far future that we just can't even conceive of yet. So yeah, I think that's a really interesting thing to consider, for sure.
Shahrzad
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Yeah. And I think Bianca is going to walk us through the next transit on April 26.
Bianca Selene
Yeah, so mercury in Aries squares Jupiter in Cancer on April the 26th. So mercury in Aries square Jupiter is a moment where two different intelligences are trying to operate within conditions they didn't create. And to understand this, we need to understand the idea of praxis. So Praxis is a Greek word that means field of action, already in motion, the structures, expectations and realities that are already established before you arrive. It's about what's already in place.
And so Aries emerges into a world that already has rules, limits and authority. And I'm meaning that in a Capricornian way, because Capricorn is tense to the sign of Aries. So what we might call mythically the terrible father, as Liz Greene mentions in the astrology of fate, and I believe Adam mentioned it. It was a really informative episode that Adam talked about. It was more to do with Neptune in Aries. But where am I? I'm trying to think where it was something to do with, I'll have to find it later, but it was something to do that he talked about, which I really loved, Neptune in Aries. It was the episode he dropped on the ninth of January. I know that March. And so he talks about the terrible father, representing the old order, the system, the weight of consequence.
So let me just gather my thoughts, because I'm all over the place here. So we got the Aries impulse, and that instinct is to assert and move, and it meets resistance. I've already spoken about that earlier. So when Mercury moves through Aries, it doesn't just speak, it interprets the resistance. So the real question here is, how are you understanding the resistance that you're meeting? Is it blocking you? Is it rejecting you, or is it shaping you?
And it sets the conditions for Jupiter in cancer, Mercury being in the superior square, and so Mercury is in Aries is defining the situation. It establishes the direction things are now moving in. And Jupiter in Cancer wants to care and protect and create meaning, but it has to do that within the reality Mercury has defined. So this looks like trying to emotionally process something after a decision has already been made, or needing to support or repair after something was said directly or abruptly, that mercury in Aries as mentioned earlier. Or it could also look like creating safety within a situation shaped by pressure or boundaries or separation.
So the tension here is the mind defining what resistance means. It's like hitting a boundary, making a call in that moment and then later realizing the full emotional impact of that call. That's the work of this square learning how to interpret resistance wisely. So that reality you set emotion is one that you're actually able to care for and sustain. That's what I have for you for that transit.
Shahrzad
Thanks, Bianca. Just for the audience, we are recording this while Mercury is debilitated and it has just finished retrograde, so there is still some mercury retrograde in the air. So yeah, just wanted to share that as just, just for context.
And then the next transit we're going to move to is April, April 28 Venus in Gemini, Trine that Pluto in Aquarius. So in Gemini, Venus kind of takes on the qualities of Mercury, you know, in its Air Temple becomes curious, you know, likes communication, becomes a bit playful, and becomes mentally engaged.
And I would like to look at its ruler, Mercury, it is still here in Aries. So I'm thinking there is some underlying tone of Aries here too, maybe like Venus in Gemini, you know, it is filtered through, like, a bit of, like, that style of conversation, learning and exchange that is very like, like, Gemini, like, but there's like, an undertone of maybe Mars here too.
So with Venus in Gemini, overall, relationships, friendships may revolve around, you know, dialogue, ideas, you know, and also people. People more may be more inclined to connect, socialize and exchange perspectives, because air is a very social element. And this trine to Pluto in Aquarius suggest that some of these, like, you know, casual interactions. They could maybe open, like a door to deeper connections, maybe meaningful conversations or transformative relationships within communities, within networks.
I'm thinking that there is a lot of circulation of ideas that comes with this transit. Maybe something that begins as like a simple exchange of thought, maybe that gradually evolves into something more influential, or maybe transformative within social circles.
A few other things that comes to my mind with this transit here is maybe conversations that you know, spark instant connection and you know, like those ideas flow, chemistry ignites. It is very natural. You could meet, maybe influence like minded people through networks, or feel inspired to express yourself in a very bold way. Or whether it's exploring like a new project, idea or personal connection. You may feel drawn to people who challenge your thinking or expand your horizons. You know it's Pluto. You know some people, you might have conversations that trigger things in you but then give you, like, a chance to grow and work on those perspectives.
I'm thinking of discussions, maybe like around, like technology, future plans, you know, like things that could evolve into meaningful insights, or maybe encounters that there is those deeper truth offering unexpected clarity or growth, as I mentioned overall with this Pluto contact here, I'm thinking of there is very good potential for profound transformation, like there's kind of like a refining process to Venusian themes here, you may also recognize your own ability to inspire, influence or positively transform relationships you know, or people in your community.
Some shadow sides of it, you know, because at the end of the day, it is a still Hermes. You know, there's some shadow sides to Hermes too. And Venus here is in Gemini, so maybe like persuasive conversations that are aimed at gaining influence. Just, just be mindful of that, and also people may be using charm or wit, you know, to control outcomes and also hidden motives, you know, within those exchanges and communities that you should be mindful of. So these are some of the things that come to my mind. Do you have anything to add? Courtney, Bianca?
Courtney Chandrea
no, you did great.
Shahrzad
Thank you. So this is what we have for the month of April and and I think April is a busy month, especially like 19 and 20, with that Mars Saturn conjunction, two malefics meeting, that can be very interesting. I'm just curious to see how that turns out.
But overall, thank you so much. And for the audience, please make sure you like and subscribe. Thanks for watching. And if you would like to connect with myself, Courtney and Bianca, or book readings with them, maybe Bianca, you can start and tell people how they can connect with you.
Bianca Selene
Yeah, can book a reading with me at biancaselene.com, and or you could check out my work on the faith meets fate YouTube channel that I have with some of the Nightlight alumni, where we get together and we talk about faith crises and navigating through that and using astrology tools to help us navigate through those even, not even faith crisis, but just like identity shifts in identity and how you just sharing stories and experiences around that. So that's what I'm doing.

The framing of Mars-Saturn as “learning to interpret resistance as instruction” is the heart of it for me — and the Maui example captures it perfectly. There’s something in the Chariot card that speaks to this exact tension: controlled force, will disciplined into motion. When I see that Mars-Saturn energy in a reading, I often reach for The Chariot as the central question to hold: am I pushing blindly against the current, or am I learning to steer it? The Bianca’s point about Mercury in the mix as conscious perception — that’s the key that unlocks the difference between explosive frustration and strategic mastery.
The Chiron thread woven through the new moon section also landed deeply. That idea of the wound as initiation, not obstacle, is exactly what we try to hold space for in a tarot consultation when someone sits with a difficult spread. The Tower isn’t destruction for its own sake; it’s the crack that lets the Star come through. The Rumi line you quoted is one we return to again and again.
