Today we’re going to take a look at the major astrological transits for the week ahead. While there are some interesting transits to explore, our main focus this week on the channel will be Jupiter’s upcoming entrance into Cancer. Although the ingress happens next week, we’re now within a week of it, and it’s significant enough to warrant extra attention. So throughout the week, we’ll be spending more time on Jupiter’s transition into Cancer alongside our usual weekly coverage.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we are going to take a look at all of the major astrological transits for the week ahead, really this week on the channel, we are going to be taking out some quality focus time to look at Jupiter's upcoming entrance into cancer, which is technically next week, but we're within a week of that Ingress, and so we're going to spend a lot of time on that this week compared to the transits of the week, that's probably a bigger deal.
There are some interesting transits this week that we will be spending time with, outside of the coverage of Jupiter into cancer. I'll tell you what those are today, and we'll take a look at them. But this is for the week of June 2, all the way through the eighth we've got some sextiles, Venus changing signs, Mercury changing signs.
We're going to spend some time on the whole sign house. Horoscopes for Venus's entrance into Taurus, getting a benefic in your angle, if you have a fixed sign rising, is probably going to be one of the more interesting horoscopes of the week. And then we'll have some horoscopes in the week ahead for Jupiter's entrance into cancer for everybody as well.
So yeah, that's a little bit about what we're going to be doing today. So before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe. It's always my hope. It's been my hope for years on this channel, that this is a place where astrology as a daily spiritual practice can can take place.
So if that's you, if you find this channel to be helpful in that way or in any other way. Please consider subscribing. It helps our channel grow. You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website, which is Nightlight astrology.com, a couple promotions today.
These are should be familiar to you guys. If you watch regularly on the events page, click on in person events, summer solstice gathering on the 21st in Minneapolis. It's free to attend. It's going to be a nice evening to reflect and share some ritual around the solstice. RSVP to let us know you're coming. It's free.
Facilitated by the Kickstarter speaker series coming up on June 7, eighth and 15th, three great teachers and speakers from the community, some from Nightlight, others friends and colleagues of the program. So you can check those out. They're free to attend. You just got to register to get the link for the webinars. And then, if you can't attend live, the recording is provided.
Go to live talks. You'll see my webinar for June, Uranus and Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius, when new objects appear in the sky, another major historical outer planetary shift in alignment that we're going to be exploring in my June webinar. Ninth house will be the topic for July.
You register for those you can't attend live, you get the link to attend live, but if you can't, you get the recording. So that's the news on all of that. First year course starts June 22 there's an informational video at the end of today's contents, about 12 minutes long, that takes you into everything you need to know about the program.
It's a first year course in ancient Hellenistic astrology. We have a ton of great support built into the program. We have tutoring sessions outside of our normal class. We have an interactive group forum discussion, staffed with tutors, a ton of bonus content, optional quizzes and assessment.
At the end, if you want to practice for other people, you can get certified through our program. At the bottom, you'll find enrollment options. There's a payment plan, there's a single payment option, and then there's need based tuition assistance. So if you're someone who would like to take the program, but you need a little bit of flexible pricing, we understand everyone's in a little different life situation, so we make that available to be sure that no one's priced out of studying a sacred topic.
All right. On that note, let's turn our attention to the real time clock. So and my computer did an update. So of course, my epic pen isn't in front of me. Okay, there you are. All right. So what we are looking at here. Going to back it up to Monday, June 2. Are a number of transits coming through this week.
Like I said, we're really anticipating Jupiter's entrance into cancer, which is taking place on the ninth. So if I roll this forward just a little bit, on Monday June 9, a week from today, you're going to see Jupiter entering the sign of Cancer around four in the afternoon, central times five Eastern on Monday, June 9, because that's coming in just a week time, and it's a major outer planetary Ingress.
What to speak of the fact that we're also dealing with a change of dignity from detriment to exaltation. We have a lot to cover this week with respect to Jupiter. So just keep that in mind that a lot of the content this week, the majority of it, will be focused on Jupiter's entrance into cancer, including horoscopes for everybody.
But there are some other transits to pay attention to this week that I will cover today. Not all of them will receive full videos devoted to them, but a few of them will, and I'll let you know what those are. So first of all, we have just Wednesday of this week. We get a little sextile from Venus to Jupiter.
Now, as much as you know, sextiles can be a little, almost like difficult to recognize. Because they're subtle vibrations of harmonious interaction that can almost fly under the radar. But one thing that's really nice is when the benefics are sextile to one another, because then you have two planets that are generally thought of in the consensus reality, in the relative world of karma to be associated with things that we all consider pleasant or harmonious or enjoyable or supportive to be expressed.
So when the benefic get together, does it mean that everything is perfect? No, but it can be generally understood as a harmonizing aspect between two planets that are generally considered to be benefic. So context is everything both of these planets are in signs that are a little difficult for them provide a little bit of tension given their their nature.
Jupiter in opposite sign of Mercury, Venus in opposite sign of Mars. So are they like in their dignities aren't necessarily ideal, but those tensions, nonetheless, shouldn't over sort of overpower or cast the shadow over their sextile. So I would just say, generally speaking, midweek looks pretty nice. There's a feeling of harmonization, especially as Jupiter's culminating in Gemini and Venus, culminating in Aries, you get the feeling of harmonious resolutions.
Are they perfect? Is there a little bit of tension? Maybe Venus and in Mars ruled sign Jupiter, you know, in a Gemini sign, both in the bounds of malefics at the ends of the signs, kind of getting those anaretic degrees, but still resolution through harmony. I'm thinking, for example, of this really basic thing that I know is going to happen this Wednesday of this week, which is that my daughter will finish her school year and she's having a sleepover with a bunch of her girlfriends at our house.
It'll probably be a nice conclusion. They'll have a lot of fun. But I could also see Venus and Aries, Jupiter and Gemini. It getting a little rowdy or contentious, because there'll be enough people here that odds are there will be some level of mania and conflict. But that's that's the kids sleepover with eight girls or whatever. So it could be boys too, whatever.
But the point is just that I imagine it'll be mostly fun. I imagine this event being happening under this umbrella as probably signifying the nice end of a school year. That's, I think that's a good image. But think about what's happening Wednesday this week, and how you might feel like you're, you know, you're putting a bow around something.
And completion and harmonization being a nice, strong expression between these two, you also generally find that people are a little bit more enjoyable, or social connections are a little bit more harmonious, even if there's like an edgy, combative, playful quality to them. Jupiter and Gemini likes to play. Venus and Aries likes to play.
So I wonder if there's a quality of enjoying friendships, enjoying love, enjoying romance or intimacy or social dynamics with a little fiery edge to it or a little airy playfulness to it. Anyway, watch for that midweek. The next day, we're going to have another little sextile. If we go forward to Thursday, June 5, we're going to see that mercury will sextile Mars now again, sextiles of the nature of Venus generally harmonizing.
What I like about this is that we have a planet that's well dignified, that's kind of coming into bonification through a conjunction with Jupiter, and that's making a sextile with Mars. When these two planets get together, you usually get a combination of aggressiveness, strategic assertiveness, intelligence, quick wittedness, and a kind of courageous or bold energy.
So I like this for kind of like a playful, combative, smart, edgy quality that can get things done, or that might give you a boost of confidence, or kind of a quick wittedness with which to make decisions, or, you know, decisive actions. These two planets are together associated with things like math, science, analytics and anything analytical or executive related to the mind, the judging capacity to make quick decisions and judgments about things on the fly.
Really nice quality there. It can be sharp tongued. It can be with Mars and Leo too, like a little bit boisterous, contentious and maybe even like a little bit of a bravado. I think of, for example, with this sextile, I think of a lovable trash talker in a sport like the sextile might be more playful than it is combative, but there's still a combativeness.
So playful, fun, loud, obnoxious, trash talking in in a sport, right? It kind of kind of has that vibe to it. Anyway. Look at the look at the playful, harmonious. Connection between Mercury and Mars when it comes to mental energy, executive energy, willful, action oriented qualities later in the week. Now on the sixth, this has to be one of my favorite transits of the week.
And the reason I'm focusing on this and the choice that I made to focus on this one for horoscopes, take this forward to June 6. That's Friday of this week, Venus will enter Taurus. Now that's going to happen pretty early on in the day. So by the time you wake up on June 6, Friday, you should have Venus in in Taurus by that time.
But anyway, Venus in Taurus changes Venus's dignity from being in Aries for a very, very long time, we have been dealing with Venus in Aries dating all the way back to early March, if I'm just going to take this back a little ways, so at the beginning of March, it was even if I back this up just a little bit further, Venus turned retrograde in Aries.
But it was in Aries all through February, and then retrograded all through March, right and then, and then it was in Pisces through its retrograde with Saturn, kind of a conflicted place. Then it enters back in Aries in May, and spends all of May picking up speed in the sun. So when I look at this transit, here I go.
Yeah, this is the first time we've had a well, dignified Venus that hasn't been retrograde in the sign of its detriment, or CO present with Saturn in tight quarters for a long time like Thank you. It's going to be nice to just feel Venus in a different mindset, so to spare different, different um archetypal space, the space of her own domicile.
CO present with Uranus too. She's going to make this final conjunction to Uranus as they're changing signs, close to the end of June, beginning of July. But anyway, for now, you can just think about Venus picking up significant dignity. Now pretty close next week, we're going to talk about the fact that Venus will square Pluto as soon as it enters.
So there's a little bit of drama for Venus right as she enters the sign. But otherwise, like you're probably going to feel just a slightly more enjoyable vibe around Venus, a Stabler, steadier vibe, less fiery and contentious, where she's been in Aries. No, not to say there's anything wrong with Venus in Aries, but you will notice the shift.
So watch for that. On Friday, I'm going to do horoscopes for the fixed signs here in a minute on that one. Then there's two things happening on Sunday, just prior to Jupiter's entrance into cancer, Mercury will conjoin Jupiter, and this is something we looked at in our monthly overview for June. This is a nice little conjunction that kind of brings parting words, final thoughts, the accumulation of lessons and insight from Jupiter's whole stay in Gemini, which we looked at last week.
I really like this as a moment when these two planets come together, and Mercury is the host, and they're at that anaretic final degree. It really does feel like a concluding insight, a culminating moment of learning and reflection upon that whole sign house of Gemini in our charts, which is why we did horoscopes on this last week.
So go back to those horoscopes if you haven't listened to them, but I like this also as a moment of understanding and intelligence, being able to see the big picture because you've understood all of the individual parts. It's good for strategizing. It's good for organizational like techniques or strategies. It's very quick minded.
It can be a little maybe verbose or over the top with ideas, language, thoughts, words, communication can also render us better equipped with some kind of new idea or technology. It can also give us, like a feeling that we're turning a page because we have wrestled with something in so many different directions that we have a real full understanding of something.
I like this. I'd watch for this one coming through on Sunday, and then right after that, just enough to mention that later in the day, we're going to see Mercury entering the sign of cancer. The reason that that is important is almost as soon as Mercury does enter cancer, it is in a square with Saturn, which we'll be talking about next week to start the week.
And remember, once Jupiter enters cancer, we've got the Jupiter Saturn square to deal with next week. We're going to be refreshing on the Jupiter square to Saturn, and starting off our week by looking at Mercury square to Saturn as well. So just remember that on Sunday, right after this mercury Jupiter conjunction, there's going to be a shift, like, kind of midstream, where, you know, if it really feels like mercury Jupiter, and then all of a sudden it feels like mercury Saturn, that's a more contractive space, and mercury in cancer might suddenly be providing something for the debilitated Saturn who's in the.
Superior square to Mercury, for example, let's say that someone was sort of down on their luck, represented by Saturn and Aries, kind of feeling lack of motivation or depressed, or maybe like you failed or something, there's been a letdown. Mercury and cancer might be the friend that calls you and has just really good emotional support to provide, but we're dealing with a Mercury Saturn dynamic that will feature things like the watery, emotional space of cancer versus the fiery space of Aries, and that can also be kind of like a boiling pot dynamic.
So this is something I'm mentioning now only because it will be our focus at the start of next week. All right. Now, on that note, what I want to do is take a look at the fixed rising signs. I'm going to take everything out of our picture here, except for Venus in Taurus.
And then we're going to do horoscopes for just the fixed signs getting a benefic in one of your Angular houses. I have to say, for fixed signs. It's great because you haven't had Venus in an angle for a long time, dating all the way back to what I was saying earlier, where we had, we had Venus in Aquarius, and then Pisces and then Aries, and then Pisces and then Aries.
So you haven't you, you have to go all the way back to, like, if I just bring this back here, a little bit here, right? Let's go. I mean, it was early December when Venus went through Aquarius. So for the fixed signs, like you haven't had benefic Venus in an angle for that for that long.
So it is nice, especially because, for fixed signs, you know, Jupiter, uh, has been in immutable sign and is about to go into a cardinal sign. So it's been a long time since you've had Jupiter in an angular place. Now you you know. So that's kind of big picture stuff, because it takes so long for Jupiter to go through a sign, but Venus, you usually get a little bit speedier movement to a new angle, not when there's a retrograde that takes it through immutable or double bodied and cardinal sign over and over.
So anyway, all of that is just to say, again, how nice is it to get a planet like Venus back into an angle? So this Friday, here's what you can anticipate. If you are one of the four fixed rising signs, or if you listen for your sun sign, and it's a Fixed sign, that would be fine, too.
So for Tauruses, you've got Venus coming into your first house. There's been a lot of unconscious dynamics in the 12th, group dynamics in the 11th, friends, social circles, long term dreams, visions, aspirations. And there's been a lot going on in the unconscious dimension of life, in having Venus in the 12th now you're dealing with Venus in the first house in your own sign.
Well, dignified, I would say that for Tauruses, whether it's physical health or self esteem, you might just be feeling better when Venus enters or suddenly just feel like you've got sunshine coming back in. That feeling of having a benefic in your first house sometimes just translates to I feel easier, I feel freer. I feel just a natural sense of connection and harmonization within myself.
It can be about health, although Venus in the first house, be careful for Tauruses of like, you know, all of your work, your sweet tooth, or your your spending habit, or whatever. Like Venus can get a little indulgent in Taurus in the first house, but comfort, ease, pleasure, self love, self esteem, a time to feel good, to look your best, to take care of yourself, really nice quality there in the first house for Venuses, you might also be noticing that people are more magnetized to you during such a time.
All right, let's go to Leo's. For Leo's is in your 10th house. How nice is it to have benefic Venus in the 10th house? You may notice just a greater ease or natural flow or harmonization as a quality that Venus brings into your career house right now, in the way that you're seen or looked at publicly, your reputation, maybe achievements are a little bit more natural.
Sometimes people even get promotions, or they may find that you are now working with a new team of people that you really get along with, or, you know, your boss has been really nice to you, or something. Can also be about certain levels of success being realized, like the fruits of good karma, just coming into that career house, or whatever connects you to the social sphere of life, you may find that there's just a greater level of harmonization or camaraderie or friendship taking place in the way you connect to the public sphere.
All right, let's go forward to our Scorpios Venus is going into your marriage House, the House of love and relationships. Lovely there in terms of just the energies of peace, connection, harmony, happiness. These can be subjects that draw you in and say, just trust what's easy and natural and what is harmonizing for you right now can be trust and you can relax and enjoy it.
Sometimes that's hard for the more guarded Scorpio rising types. Everyone's different, but if you're that type who's like. Holds your cards close, or however they say that, and maybe has had the rug pulled out from you before. I think Venus is often in the seventh an invitation to relax, enjoy, connect, harmonize, trust, find that there's a loyal, reliable kind of energy or quality in social connections, or even to develop or deepen some level at which the you you look or seek for pleasure in and happiness in relationships.
So I like that energy coming in there. Now remember that for you, you've had Venus in the sixth and so that place can be a place of conflict and working through tensions in relationships. So if you've been doing that and been doing some good work there, you may also you may also start to experience the benefits of having done deeper, more difficult work around relationships while Venus was retrograde in your sixth now finally, we have Aquarians who are getting the Venus story in the fourth.
So Venus in the fourth, home, family, living environment, private sphere of life, how are you creating greater stabilization, ease, comfort, security, enjoyment, whether that's internally and privately in the home, in the living environment where you're living, how it's set up, those are all important questions that Venus can really help.
You know, they can really help with in terms of the natural way that Venus wants to bring greater enjoyment, ease, flow and harmony into that space. I think Venus and the fourth can also be about, you know, bringing some peace or ease or comfort to family relationships, especially if there have been conflicts among peers, siblings, like, kind of family members.
Sometimes that happens with Venus and Aries in the third we're looking at, you know, maybe a more peaceful vibe that's coming into those kinds of relationships as well. So I would also just say that you may be at a place where there's less contentiousness on your mind. There's less maybe you're coming to a place where you've learned a lot about impulse control and about competition and comparisons and things like that, and you're ready to just be in a more peaceful space inwardly, after a lot of work psychologically around Venus and Aries in the third so those are my brief horoscopes for those are my brief horoscopes for the fixed rising signs.
Nice to have a benefic back in in the building. All right. So finally, I'm going to tell you what's on my altar this week. This is something I started. I think it was last week, or maybe the week before it was last week. And basically we have an altar downstairs, but I decided to build one in my office so that each week I could share a little bit of my altar practice and its relationship to my astrological practice with all of you, in the hopes that it might inspire some of you to adopt a similar practice in whatever way that works for you, or you know, in whatever arrangements reflect your beliefs or your path in life.
I think altered practices are really cool. There's nothing like hard and fast about the way I do things. It's pretty creative, and every week, I'm just trying to be intentional about creating connection between my inner life and my my process as an astrologer and what's coming in the sky, and trying to be meaningfully connected, treating them like they are, Gods and goddesses, presences, archetypes that in an animistic framework, love to relate to us.
They're beings that we can connect to. I think it helps to connect to them by being intentional about saying, Hi, I know you're here, and here's something that I'm giving, you know. And so an alter, there's lots of things you can do with an altar. So anyway, let me switch my camera view now so that you can see what is on my alter this week.
Okay, so you can see here, this is my little altar, and I'm going to just shift the view slightly. I have like, all sorts of icons on my alter that are all meaningful to me. I've got you can see Venus, Krishna and Radha, Jesus and Mary, Lord Caitanya, the bear Totem. I have Lao Tzu over in the corner, the Ramayana, actors, the Cupid and arrow, St Francis, like all sorts of stuff.
These are all just meaningful to me. But you should fill out your altar with anything in my mind, it's anything that connects you to that animistic, divinatory framework that we're living in a sentient cosmos that wants us to engage with it as a living being. And I think an altar is a way of. Reminding ourselves that these archetypes and patterns that we're working with Gods and Goddesses are living presences.
So I have some candles that I light every day. I usually sit with a little bit of silence with my altar. I might cast the I Ching on the floor sitting in front of it, and do some research on my topics for the day. And so I hope that this inspires people to, you know, do something similar, if it resonates.
Now, what's on my altar this week? You're gonna notice a little dish that's sitting right in front of Krishna and Radha and the cross in the middle, and the dish is filled with roses and calendula. So this is something that Ashley helped me put together. I often go to her for advice on herbs and herbal medicine, plant spirit medicine.
And the reason for this is that Jupiter's upcoming entrance into the sign of Cancer is the thing that I'm really trying to connect to this week on my altar, roses and calendula have a connection to the Goddess Mary. Now I think of Mary as an archetypal figure within the Christian tradition. I don't care so much about the literal doctrines and dogmas, right?
I grew up in the church. The imagery is meaningful to me. There are a dozen other ways you could connect to Jupiter into cancer. One of the ways that I think about them is sort of Mary, Mother of God, like the Divine Mother, a divine archetypal figure connected to something like Jupiter and cancer.
So on that note, what I find to be really cool about this is that roses have a history of being associated with the bleeding heart of Mary, and that she bleeds at a deep level for of compassion for the world, for her son in his death and his resurrection. So all of that is symbolic, of course, and the roses have a history of being connected to that.
And then calendula, also called Marigold, is named that way after Mary. And I think it was, it was either Hildegard or it was Teresa of Avila. I can't remember which one who named it that way, or who mentioned that connection. But anyway, these are two plants that have a history of being connected to the Goddess Mary and so as Jupiter's entering cancer, that's just a little way that I'm that's just my little way of saying to Jupiter in Cancer.
Hi, please teach me. Guide me. I'd like to connect with you. I'd like to honor your presence in my life in the upcoming year. Now, I'm doing that because Jupiter's coming into cancer about a week away. So again, if that resonates cool, I hope that you know, you'll you'll maybe take from that and do something that makes sense for you, and if it doesn't, you know, no, no big deal.
I certainly don't want to not trying to indoctrinate anyone to anything. You just take it or leave it. And I hope that it's useful, um, to my mind, if you're looking for a way of tracking the planets, connecting with them, gaining insight, growing as a person, even though it's so it's sometimes very intangible and difficult to quantify how we're learning and growing with all of these transits.
But I think all of us have an experience that we are if we pay attention, we keep astrology in our lives, you get this felt sense along the way that the planets are imparting things to you, you're learning, you're gaining insight. Oh, wow. Okay, I, I used to think this way, but now I'm thinking about it this way.
I used to act or behave this way, but I'm getting a little bit more compassionate, or my rough edges are being worn down a little bit by this process of living. If you experience astrology that way, I can all I can tell you is that having an alter practice turns the volume up on the ability to hear, receive, see and experience, the playfulness and connectivity to these things that we're talking about, and it also takes it out of something that's just about us and what's happening to us, and invites us to participate in something that's happening.
And I think that's the best reason that I could have for trying to persuade anyone to take up an altered practice. So I hope you will enjoy doing so. But anyway, I'm rambling on now. I'm going to sign off if you want to check out the first year course informational video follows. All right. I hope you're having a good day. We'll see you again soon. Bye.
Loved the weekly insights! Your breakdown of the planetary movements for June 2–8 is clear, practical, and empowering.
