Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Okay,
welcome in, everybody.
It's good to be here. I'm
still sick as a dog, but
every day feeling a little bit better, and I apologize. Things got started a little bit late. I couldn't get the
live stream to start on Facebook. So I had to
do a bunch of authentication app stuff. It just is a total pain in the butt. But now we have the live stream going on both YouTube and Facebook. So yay, we we did it, but I apologize if you've been waiting here for a couple minutes because I was supposed to start at 11. It just took me a second to get that to get that started.
So welcome in. Today. It is a Sunday, usually a bonus episode Sunday, but I thought, because we're in the final days of the Kickstarter campaign, I would come online and do some Birth Chart readings and hang out with you guys a little bit,
a couple of Kickstarter promotions that I'll do throughout the live stream today, trying to rally support last minute for our Kickstarter campaign.
And yeah, we'll read your birth charts, bring some of you into the studio today, and then we'll do some Q and A I'm going to open with birth chart readings today. While my energy is higher because my energy levels are nuts right now in terms of, like, exerting myself and then suddenly feeling like I need to sleep for three hours. So I'm going to do Birth Chart readings at the beginning, and if my energy starts tanking, I don't usually need kind of as much energy to do Q and A as I do birth charts. So we'll start that way today to make sure that I can, I can hold the line. But anyway, hey, where are you guys coming from today? Tell me where you are coming from. Let's do a little roll call before we get into it. I'll then promote the Kickstarter. I'll tell you how you can join me for some Birth Chart readings. Very excited. All right,
all right, let's see Quincy. Quincy mass love it. San Antonio,
Pennsylvania,
Denver,
Northern Kentucky, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Oh, I love that. My mother lives in Grand Haven not too far from you. Austria, Youngstown, Slovenia, Johannesburg, South Africa,
North Carolina, Kansas City,
Los Angeles, Trinidad,
New Zealand, Lithuania, Arkansas, Colorado,
the Netherlands, Wilmington, North Carolina, Norway Lake, Tao,
Clearwater, Albuquerque, Florida, St Lucia, Caribbean, yeah, I love that.
Tao Santos, Mexico, okay, very cool. Toronto, Puget, sound, New Haven, Detroit, gosh, upstate New York, Washington, DC, Germany, London, oh, my gosh. Oh, look. Bucharest is back in the house, Berlin,
Colorado, El Paso, Santa Cruz, Stockholm, Sweden, Indonesia. You guys are you guys are awesome coming in from all over the place.
Well, look, I won't take up too much of your time today. I know you guys want to get right into some Birth Chart readings. In my view, Birth Chart readings do a few things for us. Even if you're not the one getting the reading, you get to learn a little bit more about astrology. It's always helpful to see how astrologers read charts that can give us a lot of confidence that, hey, look, that guy doesn't know what the hell he's doing,
which means that I don't have to put so much pressure on myself. No, I'm kidding. It can. It can be helpful to see how one astrologer organizes their delineations, you know, compared to another, how one astrologer talks to certain people or problems or situations in life, how symbols are used creatively. So we're going to get into that. But first, let's promote the Kickstarter campaign, and then I'll tell you how you can join me.
All right, so
Kickstarter campaign, we have just
three more days left to go. We have just three more days left to go and.
As of the time I am recording this, we are at 1380
backers. We need 2043
so let's do a little quick math. That means we need 663
backers in just three more days. So here is the link to contribute if you have already contributed. First of all, thank you. Thank you so much for your contribution. On behalf of myself and the whole team, I am deeply thankful now, 663
backers left to go. You can find the link to donate if you haven't yet donated, contribute and support the channel in the year ahead, the link is in the comment section. I will continually put it into the comment stream today. Also, by the way, any of you who are in the live stream as we go who want to help me promote, remind people to donate, point them to the website, tell them where they can find the link. All of that is super helpful. Really appreciate you guys kind of rallying as a community. My energy is a little bit low. I'm honestly having a hard time being at full strength in promoter mode, as I usually would in the final days of the Kickstarter. So your help is is deeply appreciated. Like my energy body is just low right now. So anyway,
as you're listening to the replay of this later today, if you are, you'll find that the comment is pinned to the top of the comment section or in the description of this video. Now, when you head over to the Kickstarter campaign, you're going to see this
right here,
and as you scroll down, you're going to see that there are rewards available. So the best rewards, by far, that help the campaign the most are the class passes. When you pick up class passes, 123, or four class passes, those allow you to take any and all of our major programs. We have a first, second and third year program in Hellenistic natal astrology,
a first year class in Hellenistic, a second year class in predicting and forecasting and Hellenistic, a third year class in archetypal and psychological astrology and counseling. So we're really trying to bridge ancient astrology with modern psychological sort of sensibilities, and those are three years worth of curriculum you can study with us in depth, and you can use those class passes to go through those programs at whatever pace you want. They never expire. You can use them any years you want, going forward, everything you can learn about the classes on the website if you want to explore them. And then we have the horary program, which is our fourth year. That's a very specific predictive technique that ancient astrologers use. That's absolutely epic to add to your toolkit. Then we have yearly master classes, and we have a guild membership that is yearly, and annual, those class passes can be used to join those or to pick up previous years guilds or previous years master classes on tons of different topics in astrology. So there's a lot of ways that those class passes can be used. If you wanted, you could get yourself a three class pass and give one of them to a friend. You're welcome to do that if you wanted to gift one of the groups of classes in a bundle to someone that you care about too. In addition, there are a lot of other really great things. There's some guided meditations, the astrology of 2026
there's horary reading bundles that I do for you personally. There's
early release of my next book, year ahead, horoscope readings for all 12 signs. That's between four and five hours worth of content, a variety of different master classes, even my wife's first and second year herbal programs are there. So check all of that out. I think that you will really appreciate it. We deeply value the support. Oh, someone wants to come in, hold up.
Oh,
no, I thought
it was Hilda that wanted to come in, but
it was the puppy, and I can't let him in here because he won't be able to settle down
anyway. So
yeah, we value your support a lot. We're at 1380
backers right now. Is at the start of this live stream. Let's see if we can't cross 1400 for sure, right? So here's the link again in the chat. If you haven't yet donated, please consider heading over and supporting us. Remember, there's a couple of things I like to make sure people are aware of. The Kickstarter campaign makes sure that all of the content, seven days a week on this channel is just completely free, no subscriptions, no pay walls, just here's a year worth of free content.
But also, because this does well, it allows me to pay a staff of 12 people. This is a huge part of the budget for the for the company for the year. It's part of how I earn my living. It's part of how I support a full time social media manager who helps curate the entire podcast. And then, in addition to that.
But when this does well, it allows all of our programs to have need based pricing, which means a lot of people pay very little for the classes that we offer. And that happens because the Kickstarter does well. So it's a really, it's an interesting business model that we've used for 12 years now. It's worked well, but it really does depend on us reaching our goal at the end of every year. So thank you again to everyone for letting me pitch this really quick here before we get into your birth chart readings, which I know people are probably excited to get into
now. So on that note, let us I'll give you some instructions if you want to join me in the studio, maybe I'll do probably two or three Birth Chart readings now we'll just do some mini readings. Hopefully this will be valuable, not only for the people receiving the reading, but also for those of you who are just students of astrology and like to learn and see how chart readings can can work at a high level.
So if you want to join me, here is how to do so you're going to send an email to grabbed at Nightlight astrology.com
that's grabbed at Nightlight astrology.com
when you send an email in the subject line, put your name and put the topic that you'd like to discuss, love, you know, relationships, money, health, career, marriage,
children, pregnancy, whatever the topic is whatsoever. Put it there in the subject line, because that's I'm going to pick some different subjects to make sure we're not just talking about the same thing in each one. Then in the body of your email, put your name again, and then put your time, date and location of birth, time, date and location of birth, if I don't have the city and state or country, if I don't have the exact date, and if I don't have the exact time, I can't take you make sure that you are comfortable speaking in front of a group in an audience, and that this, you know, this is going to be recorded and housed on the YouTube website. So you by sending an email, you are agreeing to let your your if you come up, you're going to come on the camera, you're going to talk about your life. Your life, your birth chart reading is going to be there in public space. So make sure you feel comfortable with all of that, that you also feel comfortable talking to me, you know, in front of an audience and everything like that. It also is helpful if you have a good memory, if I ask you what was happening at this or that time in your life, and you have pretty good recall of
of timelines that also really helps. So make sure that you put all of that into the email. Email grabbed at Nightlight astrology.com
and while we're waiting for those to come in, I'll address this. I may have missed it. Have the contest giveaways been given yet? So I didn't realize this, because I'm just, honestly just naive, but I didn't realize that for giveaways to be done and not technically considered a lottery, you have to make sure that it's that anything you're giving away, because I think what we had said is, if you, if you pledge today, we'll just enter you to get an extra prize. But technically, anyone has to be able to enter
freely, without any kind of pledge or money to randomly win something. So what we did was we sent out an email and posted all over social media saying, if on the two days we announced that we had some free giveaways for people who are pledging that we'd randomly select. We said, If you submitted an email that you wanted to be a part of those, you could freely do so if you didn't have the money to pledge, we had to make sure we did that, because we just didn't understand, like, what the rules of doing giveaways were with Kickstarter and just like, the laws around that kind of stuff. So we were like, oh shit. Like, we just, you know, it's like, my I've never done it before. I see giveaways done all the time. So, you know, it's just like, kind of ignorant on my part. But anyway, so we couldn't, we decided just not to mess around with we had a whole list of giveaways we were going to do for the final days
that we just were like, it's too complicated to get that done now in the final days, given that we just didn't understand how giveaways have to work, if that makes sense. So no, we have not gone backward through the process of gathering all of the emails that came up alongside of the pledges that were made on those two days to select randomly
the the giveaways.
Mostly, we haven't done that because I got sick, so I'm hoping to have that done, you know, in the next couple of days. And you know, we'll, we'll send out an email to whoever got randomly chosen from the people who you know, submitted through email or made a pledge that day. So yeah, anyway, I hope that that makes sense, and I do apologize if that created any confusion, because it was just purely like unintentional ignorance on my part.
Oh, thank you. That is so super sweet.
No, all of the rewards.
Are still available. They're only. The only reward that sold out like immediately was I had individualized I had 30 individualized year ahead readings that I record for people. And they were, there was 30 of them available. They went like the first day. So those were, those were, those are the only ones not, not, not left.
Yeah, well, you know, I just, I should have, you know, it's just, it was something that we had ample time to have researched, and it was just, you live and learn. That's it, you know. So
anyway, let's while you guys, I'm seeing emails coming in, so I'm just waiting for to get enough so that I can invite some people in. We have not had one backer yet in this live stream, so we I'm going to just pound the drum a little bit. If you've already backed, of course you're listening to me, then thank you, because I know that a lot of you have already backed. If you haven't yet, links in the live stream help us reach our goal. Oh, we got our first backer for the day. That's good. First backer for the live stream just came in. Thank you. But let's see if we can't get like, 19 or 20 more and push over to 1400 today. We need, we need 600 more in three days, guys. So this is the time
it's good to see you looking and sounding better. Yeah. You know it's weird, because, like, I'll have these bursts of energy where I'll feel like myself, but I guarantee you, like, when I'm done with this live stream, I'll probably have to sleep for like, an hour and a half because it just, like, comes and goes. It's the weirdest thing. It's like, my fever is gone. Now it's just like, clearing out through my throat, chest, cough, all of that stuff is kind of gradually clearing out, but the fatigue is just so weird and disorienting. It's like, I'll exert myself for a little bit, and then all of a sudden I'm just like, I'm so tired. And then, you know, I'll manage to get my final workout of my 35 week Vulcan yesterday, which was I did manage to do that. It was easily my, like, weakest workout probably in the entire 35 weeks of the very last one. But, you know, made it through. So that's good.
You backed a second time right before the live stream. Hey, thank you. That is so sweet.
Yeah, let's, let's keep going. Let's keep the momentum going here.
All right, I'm going to invite some people in, and let's, let's get this thing
on the road.
All right, I'm going to send you a link to join me in the studio. So when you get that link, you're going to click on it, join me. You'll be in a green room. I can't I'm going to bring more people than I need
into the green room, just in case people disappear. So Kimberly, I just sent you one.
Let's see here.
Yasmin
or Yeah, is it Yameen or Yasmin? Think I've just sent you one.
Francesca, I've sent you one,
and let's see I'm
I'm looking down trying to find some that aren't like, there's like, a zillion career ones, you know. So I'm just trying to find some, some a little bit different.
Okay, we got three or four backers that have come in. Now, by the way, as I'm doing this, thank you. Applause.
Five, five backers in now that's great.
I've got my eye on it.
Okay? I'm looking I've just got to get one that's not career,
like serious like 30 are just all career. Let's see here which I get. I totally get, but I want just some different so.
All right. Kayla,
all right. I've sent, I've sent out five or
so
links.
I'm
uh, yeah, I sent one to
a bunch of you guys now, so I'm just waiting for people to show up in the studio. See this is the thing you have to remember, is that when you send me the link, or when you send me your info, you got to check your email and make sure that you're looking for the link that I just sent. So
Kimberly, Yasmine, Francesca, Kayla, these are people that I've just sent the list to. So let's see. Oh, good, got Kayla's here. Excellent. And Kimberly's here, fantastic. Okay,
really, what's up?
Hey, can you hear me, yeah, can you hear me? Okay, yes, I can. Okay, great. Thank you for being here. It's really nice to have some some volunteers. Yeah, thanks for having
me. I'm going to bring up your birth chart. Tell me your birth date again, march 3, 1993
and the time, 5:17pm,
and the location, Nashville, Tennessee,
Okey, dokey. So
I have you as a Virgo rising. Does that sound right? That's correct.
Okay, wonderful. Well, let me just
I'm putting in all of the planets so that I've got everything set up.
Okay, perfect. Now I'm going to put your chart up on the screen, and
here we go.
Can you see it? Yes, okay, perfect. Tell me what we're going to talk about.
I pick career, I guess like everyone else,
yeah, I don't, I don't know if I should give you any context or like, background. Yeah, no, for sure. Tell me what's going on. And what could we look at in particular that would be really useful. Well, I did spend a whole year looking for a job, and then I, right now, I'm working outdoors in a very, more labor intensive job. And then I finally, after a year of rejections, got an IT apprenticeship with Google. And so I sort of it doesn't start until March, though, and it lasts for 18 months, so I just kind of curious. I don't know. I hope that it pans out, you know, but I don't know if you have any insights, I guess. So you're starting a new job.
When, or did you already started? Or you started the new job? It was sort of unexpected. I had applied in July, and they called me in November, and I started like, the same almost in the same week,
and it's very like, I almost, I didn't really want to, because it's more of like, I'm drilling things and I'm working outside.
And so I was reluctant to do it, but I am doing it. And then I got this, and so I know it's going to be short term until March. So that's kind of giving me, like the the
grit that I need to keep doing this job until my apprenticeship begins in March, right? So you're in your tell me more about the apprenticeship. It's for it. So it's with Google, and it's sort of like a hands on learning slash working environment, and it's full time.
So it was pretty excited about that.
And is, is that,
is that something that will be a part of this job explain how it relates to this job? Again, just so I understand, I'm making sure they're not related. It's just that I spent literally the whole year from January until December, getting rejected by different jobs. And then both of these sort of came, like, one after another.
And yeah, they're not related, but yeah, I'm gonna have to tell them. I'm gonna have to tell my current job eventually that I'm not gonna be able to work there, you know, after a certain point. But, and that's because this apprenticeship will lead to a better job in your view, ideally, that's what I'm hoping for. So I'm hoping that maybe I can get hired on there or offer different resources for career. But I don't exactly know what to expect. So, so when will the apprenticeship.
Start and End. March 2026, to September 2027,
so a year, 18 months, say it again, march 26 to September, 2027,
okay, got it? Got it all right, let's take a look at that timeline. Now,
this isn't something that you would have to tell them until you're very close to done, though, right? Probably that's what I'm thinking, unless they, for whatever reason, decide that they don't want me anymore before I need to let them know that I got an apprenticeship. Does that make sense? Yeah, yeah,
yeah. I guess the reason I'm just I'm just thinking, like, practically speaking, like, gosh, you probably wouldn't want to let him know too early, right? Exactly, so I haven't yet, but
exactly. Okay,
well, let's
okay. So what I'm going to do here is,
let's take a look at the timeline around the end of the apprenticeship. And there's no, I mean, like you're, it's it, there's no.
You're in this apprenticeship is not waiting for approval or acceptance or something like you're good to go. Yeah, I already, I did the interviews, I did, I annoyed recruiters, I did all the things. And so, yes, I got it so and in it you said it would be September 27 that it's done, correct? 2027
Yeah, yeah. So this is what I like about this for you,
typically, what we want to see,
so what let me just kind of refine for people who are watching who are learning astrology, right? Let me break down the craft a little bit.
We're talking about a desire for a career that you feel aligned with, that you feel better about. It's in the tech world and in your vision right now, it would likely come
come off from this apprenticeship, which is taking you in a direction you'd prefer to go and compare to the job that you're in right now. Is all of that accurate reflection? Yes. Okay, so first of all, what we want to do as astrologers is look for the relevant house topics and karma of the house topics and so forth. So that's going to be the career house, or any of the art te houses, which are 10, two and six, and if there isn't an obvious 10th house, transit going on. But in this case, there is when you applied for
the apprenticeship or the new job that the tech world sort of opened last summer, as in July you were saying, right?
That's when Uranus entered Gemini in your 10th
Oh, okay, that makes sense, right? Now, you can feel the techiness of Uranus and Gemini, right? I won't. No need to break that down too much. I think most people listening can follow that. So
the first major transit that Uranus will make will be a
conjunction to your mid heaven.
The degree of the midheaven is at six Gemini.
Now the Interestingly, during your first year
in this apprenticeship, we're going to see that, you know, it's, let's see here,
it's right around
the start of the apprenticeship in this coming spring of 2026
that you'll notice,
Uranus has entered your 10th house again. So this is, this is April of 2026
and I think you said you start in March. Yeah, right. So right, as you begin that apprenticeship, Uranus comes back in. So what we want to do is sync up. Does it look like the development of this transit is coming along, the development of this career endeavor that you've started with? And it does. It syncs in a couple of ways. Right away you're interested in it in July, the start of the apprenticeship, in the spring, as Uranus re enters. So there's going to be a really interesting inflection moment when Uranus gets up to the sixth degree.
It will
station
here. This is in
stations about September of 2026 one degree off from your midheaven.
So that's interesting to me, because first of all, this would just suggest that
there's, there's a moment where something's culminating and
a development that's coming off from being about midway through, or a little less than midway through.
Uh, your your apprenticeship is taking place as Uranus is stationing just a degree off from the midheaven in like September of 2026
so that ought to be a really interesting time where you're starting to gather some clarity, or momentum, or even more direction is starting to clarify itself with respect to your career. But then what happens is, oh, the retrograde process takes hold, and then Uranus is slowly going to work its way to the first exact pass of the midheaven, which is late May into early June of 2027
now this is just a couple of months before you're done, right? So coming into the conclusion of this,
of this process, you have Uranus coming over the mid heaven, by the way, that's happening right at the same time that a new moon is forming in your career house in June of 2027
Yeah. So really, you know, nice and fitting there. And then we're going to see Uranus is going to get up to about eight degrees. The reason that this is important, and that's this is by July,
is that Uranus is also going to now start squaring your ascendant.
So the Uranus Square to the the Ascendant is often a moment where changes, especially because it's constellating so close to the midheaven. Changes in public, professional or vocational direction are coinciding with fundamental changes of identity,
right? So that there's like a
synchronization of a moment of personal change, that I'm becoming someone that has to,
I have to remake myself and break the mold. That's a Uranian thing. When it inflects itself on the ascendant. It's like saying
who you are as a character in the play of your life is going through character evolution like really rapidly right now,
and it's happening right after again, just months before you finish your program and right after Uranus has gone over the midheaven. To me, that's like existential professional things are just popping. Who am I? Where am I going? My profession is changing. The mold is being broken. So that's really exciting.
Now, if we take this forward just a little bit more, Uranus is then going to station in retrograde. The retrograde comes in October. So this is now just after you finished the apprenticeship. By this time. The other thing that happens
is, as of late July, Jupiter goes into the first house. So now you're in a Jupiter first house year. Jupiter first house year is
coinciding, in other words, with the kind of professional takeoff that Uranus at the midheaven, Uranus Square, your Ascendant is demonstrating, and that often means an increased sense of confidence, more responsibility, greater leadership qualities, a new skill set that you're now enacting and embodying, a certificate or a new title or something like that. Jupiter first house years would be really good, in other words, for the kind of identity transformation that's coming as you're stepping into a role that resembles having finished an apprenticeship.
Now, if we take this forward a little bit, Uranus will then retrograde back over the ascendant, you know, and now it's going to come over the midheaven, and it comes back over the midheaven by the early part of 2028
so
yeah, that that means that, you know, even and it comes back in direct motion by March of 2028 so even the first half of 2028 is still carrying the momentum of professional and personal change, you know, and that'll really be active throughout the rest of 2028
so if you ask me, as we stand at the threshold of 2026
I'd say you're in about a two year process.
In the next year, I think there's a really critical inflection point in September. That's when Uranus pulls to within a degree of your mid heaven. But then really, it's like June through the end of 2027
June of 2027
through the end of 2027
that's where I think we really see like you're you're fully embodying a total you know, it's like, what do they call those things?
A personal makeover, personal and professional makeover.
And Uranus likes to. Uranus likes to break you out of things that feel stuck, that you can't inhabit, that don't feel free, that don't feel life giving. So I think you're on a really good track. Here.
Some warnings that are.
Built into your chart that it's good to be aware of would be like, for example, hold on, just a second.
Let me just put my dog away. Hold on. He's making a ton of noise. I
Okay,
so,
yeah, the one warning that I think is built into your chart a little bit, is your 10th house ruler is a retrograde, debilitated mercury.
Really, one thing that I would say is really important is that your work not be
for the purpose of pleasing other people.
You know, if you're if you find that you're good in roles that
put you behind the scenes, or that feel disempowering. But wow, do other people really appreciate how good you are at it, or something like that. I would be careful of that pattern eventually becoming one that's really draining in any job or position. It's not to say like, you know,
your Mercury in pisces may always along with Moon, you know, Mars and cancer, there may be something about
you that's very nurturing, protective, caring, devotional and sensitive to the needs of others, and those aren't sins or crimes, but
if they leave You feeling depleted, if they leave you feeling without joy
or without agency, they leave you feeling like a bit of a doormat or exhausted or not reaching some potential within yourself. That's when it may lead to a feeling of needing to escape or get out of something, and then a feeling of perpetual wandering and like you can't land in a version of yourself that feels solid and durable. So I would be
just gently reminding you to walk toward things that feel like they're not too much of a compromise.
That's good. Thank you. Yeah. But otherwise, the outlook for on, you know, on my end, you have a very exciting couple of years here professionally, a lot to look forward to, and Uranus is going to make sure that you don't feel bored or stuck in the exact same roles or type of career, for sure. So I'd be very optimistic if I were you. Okay. Thank you so much. I resonated with all of that, especially the last part about the people pleasing. You know, not doing things of too much of a compromise. So thank you. Yeah, good. Well, thank you, Kimberly, for coming on and just sharing yourself with us. I'm sure everyone learned a lot from getting to see that. So thank you.
All right. Happy Holidays.
Okay. Kayla, hey, hey, Adam, how are you
I'd say, to be fair, I'm a mixed bag. Yeah, that is fair. Okay, yeah, thanks for taking my question. Of course, of course. I'm glad. I'm glad to do it. Well, tell me your date of birth, yeah. So it's July 10, 1982
and the time 8:37am,
and the place Mountain View, California.
Okay, is that San Bernardino, Santa Clara Kern,
I think it's Santa Clara, yeah, it's Santa Clara for sure. Okay, so I have you as a Leo rising. Does that sound right? Truth. Okay, okay,
let's see here. I'm
gonna put your chart up on the screen. Let me know when you can see it. I can see it. Okay, fantastic. So what are we going to talk about today? Tell me what's up?
Oh, you know, just sole purpose.
I'll give you just a short context around
this. This question I've been walking of what are my gifts and how can I share them?
And a real sense that I have a distortion in myself of my gifts and skills and abilities and and that's partly to do with a 17 year journey through chronic illness and
struggling to stabilize in my physical body
and longing to contribute, and the way those two things have
eroded me in very valuable ways, and also shaped me, but also really challenged me in terms of
this invitation that I've just received to step into a place of leadership.
Yeah, and
the fear, the desire to withdraw, hide, that comes from kind of early wounding.
So navigating questions around
Yeah, health and physical stability and how I might step into the world like, like I said, how might I contribute from a place of soul?
Does that help? I can answer other questions. I know it might be a little vague. No, no, that was, let me just it helps me, if I can try to summarize, reflect back and make sure that I've heard the heart of what you said, yeah. So it sounds like maybe there's some
patterns of not being able to fully see yourself, love yourself, step into yourself fully. I'm really feeling some of the 12th house planets here, right?
Even the eighth house Moon maybe.
And I'm sorry I have to put my dog away because it's okay. It's just really bothering me. Hold on. No worries. I
Okay, we have like, hardwood floors in the other room, and he's playing with a toy, and just like his claws all over the floor, like going crazy. It's like static in my brain, because I'm also like, not so my energy is not so high.
So anyway, it sounds like you know,
because of this history of maybe struggling to embody a clear, strong sense of identity, purpose, direction, embodying your skills and abilities with greater confidence that this opportunity is coming up, but maybe there's a lot of fear or resistance or insecurity around whether or not to do it, or if you'll be able to do it, or something like that. Did I hear that you did? Yeah, and it feels quite like a long term kind of burden that I've been carrying, this heaviness around, longing to contribute and feeling certain blocks, but yeah, you got it.
Okay.
Can you tell me about like, what? What do you feel some of your gifts are that you've maybe had a hard time embodying to this point? And what would this opportunity be? Maybe tell me more about it as well,
the opportunities to co facilitate a group that works on both personal, ancestral and collective trauma,
helping to co regulate each other, to connect more deeply with the earth. I would say, if there's anything that I understand, it's earth connection.
That's a place of resourcing for me, and that's the place I feel safest and most creative, is in my relationship with the more than human world. Okay, it's, it's my relationship with the human world. That's the scary part the earth, like I do that permaculture and, you know, just communicating across species boundaries and plant communication, things like that makes sense in my system. And I'm drawn to,
I feel more frightened and challenged by the human realm. But
you know, you
don't have to necessarily unpack the whole history of trauma, but what? What were some of the patterns that maybe you can see connected to that
fear or that
not feeling as comfortable or safe with humans? Yeah, I think my family system experience was one where it was necessary to
kind of erase myself and disconnect from my sense of self
in order to manage kind of the chaos that was around me.
The safest thing was to be mute, and now I'm being asked to share and speak, and I have this idea, like, who could possibly care what I have to say? Like, that's part of it,
yeah, just and also these kind of shame bound places, this false identity that's as I tried to heal and couldn't really heal my physical body, you know, for 17 years, and as I tried to step in the world, and couldn't really fully incarnate, this identity with shame, just got stronger, even though I understand cognitively that it's it's not true.
Yeah. Um.
Yeah, was there one of your parents that you identify more than another? Or would you call it the environment in general that created the feeling of needing to be quiet, to protect Yeah, both, both, for sure, my father carried the most overt rage, and my mother just disappeared, so there was a lot of instability and attachment.
There's, there's like this original grief around the disconnection that kept happening that I had no control over as a very one
got it, okay? That's very central, is the repeated disconnection.
Yeah, well, we can see the outlines of some transits and some placements in the birth chart. I think around all of this
when you think about this upcoming opportunity. Have you said yes to it? Have you said no to it? Where are you at with it? I said, Yes, yeah. All right. All right.
He's curious. When does it begin? January. Okay, it's coming up soon. Yeah,
well, let's take a look. Let's, let's give you a vote of confidence here and some encouragement, because I think you're
going to find that this experience is very healing, very empowering. It won't be without its edges, I'm sure, but you're ready for it. And in a sense, you were born for it. When we look at your chart in in as a kind of mirror of this situation, when you're born with the
Leo rising but the sun in the 12th house,
there's something that will sometimes prevent anytime the ascendant ruler is in the 12th you can deal with not feeling safe to show yourself, especially with Leo. It's the sun's sign, right? So it's like, Can I show my light? What is light? You know, it's, it's spirit, it's vitality, it's it's joy, it's the child. It's something uninhibited and free and life giving. That's our spirit. And we all have to learn when it is or isn't the right time or place to bring our dimmer switch up because certain social situations, cultural context, group dynamics, interpersonal dynamics, all of that's different kind of feedback for us that we have to have an adjustable dimmer switch. So that's normal.
What's not normal is often an inherited pattern with a 12th house, ascendant ruler, that tells you it's never okay to
or that, more often than not, a voice tells you hide or step behind the scenes or do something that's supportive. Because who could possibly take issue with someone who's supportive? You know, cancer son, especially in the 12th house, might be like the nurse who works in the hospital who
could never possibly be blamed for being selfish, you know, a bit of a martyr or something. And I'm joking, but like
the 12th house, Sun has some reason for thinking that it's only in places of devotional care, nurturance, healing others, caregiving or or just complete hiding that it's appropriate to share and shine one's light.
Now there's obviously a real caregiving dimension to you as a soul with a couple planets in cancer, the Moon in Pisces. So it's not to say that caregiving, and some form of,
you know, the stewardship of of other people's well being, isn't like a real thing that has a powerful it's like a gift that you have to be
a caregiver or a healer, perhaps.
But also
that can't come alongside a Leo rising that is afraid to be seen, because the Leo Ascendant has a very particular Dharma, and it's the dharma of being queenly, or I use that, you know, for obviously, like a woman, but just like a priestess, a queen, confident, bold, Regal, your brightness, your laughter, your your sunshine, your smile, that these things you carry confidently, not arrogantly, but solidly, you know gentle but firm, and that you walk into a room and that you don't shy away, that these things are very important for Leo and so A part of the path of this lifetime with those planets in the 12th house will be, how do I embody this caregiving, sensitive, maternal, nursing, healing kind of energy, but with a strong priestess vibe, who can hold court too, you know, who can be a leader, or who can not shy away from.
Conflict or bullies or who can her voice can carry a room. I also know how to dim it. I know how to step into the background. You know, it's not about me. It's about the healing of all beings. It's very Bodhisattva with the 12th house sun. But it can't be one at the cost of the other. You know, it's got to be both. There's a there's a myth that we tell ourselves that to be sweet and kind and caring means you cannot be in the spotlight,
you know? And that's not true. So that's first and foremost. What your chart is. It's about that juxtaposition two things can be true,
and so a role like this is perfect. It's a perfect stress test for that dynamic. And no wonder you're feeling like, ooh, because this is one of those, like, it's like, God and the angels are like, poking you in the little soft spot, you know? And they're like, hahaha.
See how much you can enjoy loving who you are and being seen and and celebrated in the spotlight while still being that gentle, sensitive presence. So that's the challenge. Now we have to ask ourselves, like, what? What would?
How do we know that that's the challenge of this moment? Right? From a technical standpoint, we know the challenge is of this moment, because we would want to see the current transits magnifying something around those 12th house planets or their host. Their host is the moon. The moon is in the eighth in Pisces. There, we could say a lot of similar things about the moon in the eighth, for example, nurturing, giving, but maybe deferentially, staying stuck in patterns of giving out of fear that would be a moon in the eighth kind of thing too. So the moon could be activated as well.
Well, let's take a look at the transits, and I'll show you
exactly how
the 12th house cancer dynamic is being activated right now at the start of this new endeavor.
First of all, you're in a cancer 12th house year with Jupiter,
right? So you've got Jupiter going over your sun in that 12th house, as we speak, within three degrees. And when we fast forward. It's starting in January, and what's going to happen in January, Jupiter is going to come over your sun. Isn't that beautiful? It's just so simple. It's like, let's make you bright and soft and sweet and healing and caring and self deferential. You can be both. So let's, let's turn up the volume on on the sun. Now, as that transit is going on, I would suggest that mercury in the 12th house co present with your ascendant ruler also suggests that in this lifetime, it may be hard for you to speak out in ways that are very visible, demonstrative, to show your intellect and your mental brilliance. You may feel a little timid to do that at times with mercury in the 12th. And what do we see happening in February as you're part of this group, we're going to see Neptune and Saturn in the ninth house of gurus, teachers, sages,
both squaring your mercury in the 12th
This means that the chance to become a conduit for philosophy, guidance, teaching, training, insight, facilitation, as a teacher within a group, kind of thing is going to be emphasized by the Saturn Neptune and Aries conjunction one of the biggest trends of The year ahead, right? And that's squaring your natal mercury.
So both of them are pressing on the 12th house dynamic. Now, I'm just going to skip around here a little bit because we don't have a ton of time. But if we look forward at this
point this year as a kind of, like jumping off point. What I love for you is that, first of all, you're, you're finishing up some eclipses and Pisces this year, so that'll kind of put some little bit more stress around maybe anything that's not so great about that eighth house moon being overly deferential. Or, you know, it'll just help you continue to gently push on that. But also look at this, Uranus, in the next two years, is going to be spending a long time squaring that moon from the 11th which means community dynamics are going to come up in ways community and group dynamics are going to come up in ways that really put a lot of pressure on the eighth house moon. Now, any way in which that eighth house Moon is getting entangled in unhealthy, codependent, fear based, anxiety based, emotional attachment, or
any sense of indebtedness or entanglement that's not reciprocal, that's draining you unfairly or something.
So there's
going to be an opportunity to liberate yourself from those emotional, embodied patterns because of what Uranus and Gemini is doing from the house of groups. So I love that for you, the other thing that I'm going to mention,
and
you and I will have to share some notes on this, because I have this transit affecting my own chart too. But
you're going to get an eclipse on August 12 of 2026
there's going to be a solar eclipse in Leo, right on your ascendant
now I have my ascendant ruler at 19 Leo, so I'll, we'll have to share notes,
but this is an eclipse right on your ascendant while Jupiter has now rolled into your first house in Leo. So this is an awakening for you, and I think you're going to nail it. I think you're going to you're ready for it. I think the fear and hesitation you feel around it, and soul, purpose and so forth. Consider it the the voice of some inner guide within you that's saying. You know what? Two things can be true. I can be sweet and gentle and have an easier time with animals and plants than humans, because humans are difficult, and I can also step into a strong, regulated nervous system that's confident, bright, sweet, I can still do all of my best work and feel safe and grounded because I'm a strong, confident person
you know. So lot, a lot of good transits in your chart, supporting this path that you're on. And I think you're gonna, I think you're just gonna again, like you're just going to nail it.
That's amazing.
Yeah, glad, glad I could help. It's the the, you know, the there's a lot of different roles that astrologers play. I taught a course one time called called the archetypes of the astrologer, and one of my archetypes as an astrologer is encourager,
you know, like that's, that's where I really find that I'm at my best, is to be very encouraging for people, there's a different there's million ways to tell stories, you know, with astrological symbolism. But this is a story that I you know, as long as we can root, we're not making it up. We can root the story in actual symbols, transits, timelines. Then I choose. I tend to have an eye for the encouraging line of the story that's coming. So I hope that that's helpful. Yeah, your work is so coherent and beautiful, and I really appreciate it. Thank you. Yeah, you bet we'll stay in touch and let me know how things go.
The Eclipse goes in particular, because, well, I get, I have that too, so we'll have to again, we'll have to share some notes. All right, good luck to you. Adam, thank you. Bye. Kayla, good luck.
All right,
I am,
admittedly now I am out of gas, so I'm not going to take any more readings, and our guests in the studio didn't make it
through the whole thing anyway. So
I will turn my attention now to the Kickstarter. We'll do a little bit of promoting of the Kickstarter, and then I'm happy to open up for some astrological Q and A if you have questions, and a branch and Francesca, I'm done with readings now, but thank you so much for for being here.
So
if you have let's see where we are in the Kickstarter. If you have questions, feel free to put them in the Q and A box. We have had 11 backers in this hour long session. So far, we're at 1391
let me just refresh and make sure I've got that right
at 1391
so we've had 11 backers. Here's the link to the Kickstarter campaign. If you enjoyed those readings, if you got something good from it, if it was inspiring or helpful for you on your path to astrology, consider throwing a little donation in the hat and supporting the channel in the year ahead. Really appreciate you guys. Let's see if we can't in this second part of our live today. Let's see if we can't cross the 1400 backer mark. That means we need nine more backers, maybe in our second hour today.
So and I do apologize, I find that every live stream is a little different in terms of my stamina, especially while I'm sick. So
yeah, I would typically try to do one, maybe one more reading, but I can feel my life force slipping.
So here is the link to donate. Put it into the chat.
Thank you. Let's see. Let's do it. Let's do a check on the numbers of backers that we need. I'm 2043
minus 1391
equals 652
more backers that we need by New Year.
Eve. It seems like a huge number, but I know we can get there. We have often in the last days, like it's it often is the case with the Kickstarters that it's not until the final days that people go, Okay, I forgot. I have to do this. There's only so much time left. But thank you to everyone who already has pitched in and contributed really, deeply. Appreciate you guys. What questions do you have? Any questions you guys have about astrology, something you want to know about me as a content creator? Or,
Yeah, anything is wide open. And while you guys come up with your questions, I'm going to go refill my water and use the bathroom really quick, and then when you get when I get back in just a minute, I'll take your questions for a little
while. I
Oh, okay.
How would you interpret her Saturn and Mars conjunction in Libra? I'm curious about that placement.
Yes, so I believe you're talking about,
yeah, there was, she had a Saturn, Mars Pluto, all triple together in Libra, in the third house.
So in the third house that that will usually speak to the development of a person's mind, intellect,
ego, verbal, mental, psychological expression in the world
and their relationship with like peers or siblings.
So usually, someone with those placements are particularly attuned to and there's a more serious disciplined, focused,
you know, kind of intellectual quality, and someone may
go to great lengths and effort to learn something and develop skills
healing like you could tell, like one of The things that you can just notice in the reading with Kayla is that she's very poised, she's very gentle, she's very balanced. So you know, a lot of water in her chart, and then a lot of strong Libra, very sensitive, very sweet, but very poised, and probably with a very keen ethical sense of what's right or wrong or what's just or injust, and probably has gone to great lengths to develop her mind and her inner life and intellect and sense of how values and morality and social justice and things like that,
like, you know, shape her, her reality. It's probably been very strong.
So, yeah, that's, that's what I'd say about that there's a lot of ways, like, if, if there was some problem that she was experiencing,
like, for example, someone with that kind of placement could sometimes get stuck in, in
a very, you
know, like when you think something's right or wrong, just or unjust, sometimes those placements have a hard time finding flexibility
and nuance and gray, and
so sometimes that's an issue, but not unless someone is coming to.
With some clear way in which that's contributing to a problem. Would it need to necessarily be addressed context is everything.
Can we somehow pledge the Kickstarter as a gift and have it count again as a new backer? Yes, you may, if you use a second email address, because they will only let you adjust the current pledge with your with the same email address.
Thank you.
What types of signatures would be highlighted during a Saturn Trine Synod?
I'm not sure what you mean. I think you might mean when the Sun and Saturn are Trine. But please feel free to clarify just so I make sure I know what you mean.
Does the exaltation and Saturn and debilitation of Mars matter in that placement? Yeah, always right. The every detail of it is important. It just depends on what, we're talking about.
Yeah,
but Mars and libre people are very often advocates for,
you know, justice, like attorneys or activists will often have Mars and Libra. So there's an element of tension or fight or stress around things that are thought to be peaceful, or just that can be stressful for someone. It can be a real gift, too. So it just context is everything in terms of why, like, how are we reading the tension of Mars in a Venus ruled sign is dependent upon context.
I'm still stuck on you working out sick. Well, it's not, it's,
it's hard, it's, it's hard to explain. Like, first of all, I am someone who finishes things, and I like consistency. So
I mean, if I have a fever and I I'm literally like, you know, like, I can't move, I'm not going to work out, so I missed two days, one that was already planned off for Christmas day itself because I had a fever. And then the day after Christmas, I was going to go back to working out, but I still had a fever, so I couldn't on
and off throughout the day. I was still spiking a fever, so I took that day off. Then yesterday, I was like, I'm low energy, but it's the last day of a 35 week program,
and I start my next program on Monday. So I'm like, I'm just gonna go and I'm gonna do a very gentle workout so I can cross the finish line. For me, it was more mental, really, than anything.
You know, it's not like I have a problem if, if I'm really feeling sick, I'm not going to work out and push myself. But, you know, and I was just feeling like my energy is low, but I'd really like to finish the, you know, cross the finish line. So I just, I didn't go to failure. I didn't I my my rep load was down. My weight was down. I just kind of went through a workout just to move my body and I my energy actually responded really well, like it really picked me up a bit. I felt really good. I was able to post my final progress photos on Instagram and everything like that. So, yeah, it was, it was, it was beneficial for me, more psychologically than anything,
if one malefic is kind of stronger than the other. Okay, I don't know what. I think I missed some context there.
How valid is the moon void? Of course, from your perspective, not at all.
No, I'm kidding.
You know the void? Of course. Moon has many definitions throughout the history of astrology, and the most recent one is really problematic.
The most recent version of the void, of course, Moon is that the moon doesn't make any aspects, any further aspects, prior to leaving the sign that it's currently in.
And while that is a technically agreed upon definition of the void, of course, moon, its meaning is not the
technical definition, sure, that's what it means, but how what that means symbolically, typically, people say it means hardly anything will happen. So don't start something new during a void, of course, Moon because nothing much will happen, or something like that.
William Lilly is the one being cited there, whether people know it or not, and he said, When the moon is void, of course, things go
things go hardly on. But that's been misinterpreted to mean that hardly anything happens. What he means is things go on with difficulty. So when the void, of course, Moon comes up as a signature of the core of a matter
which is already context specific in a horary chart,
then you might say that the matter being asked about is going to proceed with difficulty.
Not find easy, smooth resolution. Again, that's very context specific, and it does not mean that nothing much will happen. Things go hardly on. Literally for Lilly meant things go on with difficulty. So as long as we understand the meaning that Lilly was given, giving, and the more recent definition of not making an aspect prior to leaving the sign that it's in. That's all fine to use in terms of just
if you turn your head to the astral clock as a mirror for some divinatory reason and you see the void, of course, moving. That's a valid way of understanding it, sure,
but otherwise it's not something to you
know, like
people, people tend to
try to live their lives by astrology, rather than living their lives and using astrology to reflect upon it. And that tends to become really problematic. And then people obsess over every they start clocking out. Well, here's the void, of course, moons for the next week. And it's like,
no, this is, this is, this is not the best use of astrology, because without context, astrology is the real meaning of any symbol in astrology is, is usually going to fall pretty flat.
Mm, question. New York Times had an article on how our sun signs are outdated because of the emergence of true sidereal astrology. How do we square learning ancient astrology when true sidereal is out there? Well, first of all, never trust the New York Times when it comes to anything related to astrology.
I'm just, I'm not even Joe. I mean, like I'm half joking, but I'm not I did, if you go back into my Sunday bonus episodes, there's one I did a few weeks ago where I actually addressed that article. So like, my full answer is there,
quite literally, look, look back at my Sunday episodes over the past couple of months, and you'll find me addressing that article in particular,
true sidereal astrology has been around for 1000s of years, as has the competition or debates and both valid cooperative uses of tropical and sidereal forms of zodiacs. The New York Times doesn't understand the history of astrology. The writers don't care about astrology. That that article has been republished every couple of years since I've been an astrologer, and it's terrible. It's not. There's nothing. There's nothing. Different forms of zodiac are like different Tao decks. People writing these articles don't understand what astrology is, the epistemology by means of which divination works in the first place. They don't care about astrology or the different forms of zodiac and debates about them historically, right? They so they're not in any position of authority to speak to the history of astrology, or what is dated or outdated with respect to your sun signs. By the way, your sun sign is about the least thing that you should, you know, be concerned with if you want to get into real astrology in the first place. It's one of, as we all know, a lot of different factors that can constitute a birth chart, or any approach to a birth chart we take. So just, you know, in my, in my mind, it's like, you know, that particular newspaper article, its best function is like, you know, helping get the bonfire started in my backyard.
Oh
Adam. Thank you so much for doing this work in sickness and in health. I wish I had more resources to pledge more, gave what I could at this time. Hey, it's always enough for us. We appreciate you guys. We know people give what they can and they give, you know, when they can, one year they can, another year they can't. We've got a great audience, and I deeply trust that this is in the hands of the gods like this. Nightlight is something that has a
you know, it's got a it's got a trajectory that I just trust, and I trust it in the hands of the people who value it too. I
pledge for your new book reward your Sunday episodes, and obviously every other episode convinced me to get it. Hey, thank you. I hope you'll really enjoy it, and it's fun to really fun and thrilling to share the first draft of a book, chapter by chapter with people. It's vulnerable, but I like it. Do
you ever share any predictions or possibility of events happening in socio economic or political settings? I don't you know. It's not really my wheelhouse. I leave that to the world astrology reports and the the astrology podcast. And, you know, Lori Lori Lothian, she's a Nightlight. You know, Laurie Lothian came through Nightlight. Dan waits came through Nightlight. You know, there's a number of not that I'm like, I don't, I'm not claiming them or anything, but they just, there are good.
Good astrologers out there who studied Hellenistic who would probably follow a lot of the same techniques that I follow, you know, who speak regularly to mundane political stuff. It's just not my focus. You know, I consider this to be much more like
a little sanctuary for the you know, the personal psychological sphere of of development that we all experience.
I occasionally address things that are collective, but mostly my focus, my gift, is to speak to to the individual, personal journey. You know, that's, that's, that's really, I'm a counseling one on one, counseling, astrologer at heart,
and so that's the way I tend to focus. There's a lot of philosophical content on this channel,
metaphysical, historical, you know, interfaith dialog. You know, there's a rich tapestry of people that I'll,
you know, refer to philosophically and and so forth. You more likely to hear me talking about astrology and the arts and literature and film and music than you will hear me talk about politics. Though, doesn't make two things can be true. That doesn't mean I don't have a private political set of views or opinions, but they're just not a part of this space for me.
Did you say the astrologer archetype is part of your class? That's a master class that I taught. You can find it on the shop page, or you can pick it up through the Kickstarter. If you get one of the class passes, you could get the master class bundle from one of the previous years that includes that master class. You can also pick it up a la carte,
you know, on the on the shop page of the website. That's a great that was one of my favorite master classes.
I'm sick too, and I want to work out too, but I think it may slow down recovery.
It's how you do it. To me, when I'm I can only reflect on when I'm sick, right? Because
I I tend to be someone who,
when I'm sick, there's like a threshold, okay, I'm going to mess myself up if I don't just lay down, right? And if that's the point that I'm at, then just lay down, because it will mess up recovery. But if I'm not feeling 100%
but I could still, I know I could get through a workout, then I'll just ratchet the workout back. Oh, 50% 60%
my body going through the motions, moving the muscles, just pushing some blood through my body, often really helps gently revitalize me. But I also know that I'm driving like 30 and a 60. You know what I mean? Like I'm slowing down during those workouts. So I can do that for myself. If you can't, if you're going to go and you're going to try to go 100% you know you'll do that, then just stay back. Because if you, if you can't do
a gentle workout when you're not at your best, then don't do one at all. You know what I mean? I think that probably be safer. But that's just me. That's how I work.
Did you obsess over your own chart in transits when you first started to study astrology. Of course, everyone does right Absolutely. Now, I only look maybe a couple times a month, and usually as I'm reflecting on something that I'm going through. Let me tell you guys a story. So when I had this fever, the other I mean, it was 103 degree fever. It lasted about 48 hours. Crazy.
I lost some weight like right away, which is a bummer when you're finishing a bulk, but it's probably mostly water anyway.
Anyhow,
I'm going through this fever,
and I had this I was I was dealing a lot with the fear of dying,
not that I thought, Oh, I'm going to die right now, because I knew I'm not that sick, like I have a fever, I have the flu, but I don't think I'm actually going to die. But what I mean is that I started contemplating my own mortality a lot, and I started realizing that
like I am such a creature of control and habit and discipline and routine, and there's a lot of devotion behind it that carries me emotionally. I put a lot of heart into it,
and I started fearing, am I going to be able to let go gracefully when my health gets to a point at some point in my life, and it will where I can't maintain the consistency, whether it's spiritual practices or my relationships or my health or my work or reading or whatever it is that I love to do, that I'm a creator.
Nature of like habit and rhythm and devotional consistency is like my love language. But there's gonna come a day where I can't do that and I'm gonna die and I have to let go. And I was get I was seriously afraid, I'm not even gonna lie, like I was, I was feeling like Ayahuasca level, like fevers are trippy. First of all, I've said that a few times lately, but they're just wild. And I was like, Man, I am not I don't know that I'm gonna have an easy time doing that. And then I just thought, how am I going?
How am I gonna, like,
how am I gonna say goodbye? You know, I I don't want to die. You know, it's like that.
And then I was going through these spaces where I thought about how easy it is for something like the flu to knock my rhythms off. I mean, the past week, usually my energy for promoting the Kickstarter is stronger, and I'm watching it. I'm watching the Kickstarter numbers. The the gap of performance is starting to shrink relative to last year, every day, while I'm sick.
And what my mind is interpreting is you're not fully present. Your energy isn't fully there, so your numbers are starting to lag. So everything's going to fall apart if you're not right. And so then there's this process, during this fever of just having to let go of that. It's like, well, I just have to let go. I'm not in control. And there's an illusion that maybe it's me that drives this thing, but it's not, it's God, it's my angels. It's something bigger than me, you know, that's driving this. So there's a lot of that going on, and just these deep layers of having to let go. And then what was really cool was I started
having this really vivid sense of my grandmother dying of cancer.
And it was funny because some of my last visuals of my grandmother before she died
have always been like any time that I think of my grandmother dying of cancer, I think of how she looked the last couple times I saw her, and I almost always just push it away, because she just looked so sick and sad and just like, Oh my god. It was just really, it's just, I can't even bring it up in my head. But for whatever reason, in this fever, the images of my grandmother dying of cancer were just not to be pushed away. They were coming in closer and closer and closer. And I was just feeling, oh my god, this is what it was like for her to die. Not that what I'm going through is identical. She had cancer. I have a fever, you know, but that this is the process of letting go, that I'm contemplating, that she had to deal with when she was dying of cancer.
And then she was there. She was suddenly like in this otherworldly, feverish state. She was there with me, and she was, she was,
it's hard to explain what it's like in a fever to have communication with someone, you know, it's like a dream. So was it really her like, I don't know, but she was there, and she was saying, the pain you're feeling right now, and everything you're contemplating is, like, it's like a band aid being pulled slowly off your skin after it's been there a while. Like, really hurts. That's like the spirit separating from the form. And she was just like, imparting this to me, and she was like, but the closer you get to the separation, the more that the exact same feeling of pain becomes bliss, and you recognize that you're in the hands of God.
My grandma was deeply faithful, devout Christian woman, so this might have just been her way of putting it. I don't know if any of this is literally true or not. I was just deeply touched that I was having this experience of almost like empathizing with my grandmother's passage. And then, you know, having her kind of give me this. And then what was cool is she said,
You don't like thinking about me when I was dying, because it's really painful. But I want you to know that at the very end of that process, it was very blissful, and I what was pain transformed into something else.
And I was like, man, I was I was just in it, you know, I'm like, 103 degree fever, just like rolling through this, and then all of a sudden I realized
Jupiter
in Cancer right now is retrograde on top of my son in cancer.
So this great mother archetype of Jupiter in Cancer.
Is retrograding right over my son, and I've got this fever in which my grandmother is appearing to me, talking to me about her death.
And then, of course, like the silliest, most simple recognition in the world, of course, she is I was born on her birthday.
I was born on that grandmother's birthday, July 16, 1981 that's my birthday. That was my grandmother's birthday. Obviously, she was born in whatever 1930 something. But
all of a sudden I realized, oh my god, I was born on my grandmother's birthday. Jupiter and cancer is retrograding over my son, and I've got this fever where I'm feeling what it was like for her to die, and not just pushing it away like I always have, but really feeling it, and then feeling that she was actually there was some peace, there was some relief for her that I didn't know was there. So I don't have to push this away anymore, because it wasn't just pain and fear.
I
Yeah, and so, I mean, just in an astrological sense, isn't it amazing that you can isn't
it amazing that
even in her birth chart, you know she's deceased, but even in her birth chart. Jupiter is going over her son right now at the same time it's going over mine. So
pretty, pretty, pretty neat
anyway.
So the reason I told that story is because when you said, Do you obsess over your charts and transits? I find that now my experiences with astrology and my reflection upon my own chart and transits happen in moments like this, when I have I'm in the midst of an experience, and I'm able to see the experience in light of Jupiter going over my son retrograde in the midst of a fever, where I'm talking with my dead grandma and I happen to be born on her birthday, and the astrology has a way of placing something I'm going through that often is very difficult for me, or that I might easily lose myself in, and it regrounds it in the sacred, through the symbolism in my recollecting of it. You know, that tends to be pretty commonly how people process astrology the further they get into their journey, it becomes less about trying to figure something out about yourself or trying to map yourself, and more about trying to find ways to hold yourself and your experiences as they're unfolding, because you realize, anyone on any spiritual path, in my humble opinion, realizes that the gold standard of spiritual life is present. It's right here, it's right now. It's nowhere else. It's just this moment. And how do I try to stay close to the
richness that's right here? And that's not easy to do, but when astrology serves
that centering, I think it's at its best. I
You've mentioned being in Jungian analysis. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Jung's perspective about the self and fate in relation to astrology. Oh my gosh, that's such a huge topic. The thought of it makes me want to take a nap.
Excuse me.
Well,
I, I would say
the best distilled take on Jung's perspective around self and fate in relation to Astrology can actually be found in a non astrological book that is actually deeply astrological, paradoxically, by James Hillman called the souls code.
Check that book out, because I think, like, I feel like, James soman answers that question better than I could. You know,
that's, that's my favorite book that kind of encapsulates
that.
Yeah, I I,
that is the triple guy, and I, I'm half joking when I say makes me want to take a nap. I'm really sorry that answer is such a good question. It.
Deserves an answer that I know I don't have the energy to give because it's,
you know, to really make Jung's perspective on fate in the self clear, and then to articulate how he developed his take on astrology in relationship to those things. It has been the subject of several books at this point. Liz Green wrote a couple of really good books on it. Maggie Hyde has written a good book on it. There's been a number of really good podcasts on the astrology podcast has covered it a number of times in really nice ways with good guests. I think James hillmans, who was a student of Jung, his book The souls code, is really the answer to your question that so I'll just point you in that direction and try to get my energy up for another time to try to answer it.
Yeah, you bet. All right, let's see how the Kickstarter is doing. And I'll take a few more questions. Then we'll close. We're at 1396
backers, which means that we have had 15 backers during this live stream. Can we cross the finish line? We need, oh, 1397
we need three more backers to get across the 1400 mark, which is my goal for today's live stream. I feel like we can get three more backers here before
I sign off.
It's a very big topic about Jung, yeah, because, you know, a lot of people need context too. So like answering that question,
includes making sure that there's enough context so that everyone listening to this can digest the answer. So that's just, it's just one of those questions where it's like,
refresh your screen. There's 102
likes right now.
See, I've got 1398
so we're two backers away,
two backers away, see if we can get there.
One of the things that I'll say, if you watch those readings, the archetype of the encourager I was talking about, is one
of a number of archetypes that astrologers can inhabit,
and the the mode of astrology, of astrological reading that we inhabit, is also unique to the time, place and circumstance of the reading. This is something that I talk at length about in our year three program, when people come in like this, for example,
notice that both people came in today, not with questions about the future, in terms of what will happen. Will I find a job? Will I ever get an opportunity to
show myself as a leader, right? There wasn't indeterminacy about the future being brought in. There was a new path for both of them that had recently opened an uncertainty as to whether or not this path would unfold in ways that were fulfilling
so the context will often provide us with the context of the chart, the context of the client, the context of the inquiry, will provide us with some options in terms of which archetype of the astrologer we step into. So,
for example, the second reading with Kayla. Here's someone who has a birth chart. You look at it like if she was someone who came in. Let me just, you know, play with this for a second, and hopefully, if Kayla's still listening to this, she'll appreciate this. If Kayla had come in and and
shown up as someone who is emotionally needy and maybe really had a an ego that's felt really wildly out of check. You would have seen me inhabit a very different role. But when someone comes in and you can just feel it human to
human, this is an authentic challenge that they have, on a kind of soul level in this lifetime, to feel like I'm I good enough to step into what do I what I don't have anything of worth to say. I mean, those are genuine like 12th house, you know, concerns that aren't about
a problematic ego as much as they are self confidence.
So here's a new opportunity that's coming up to grow and build some of that, and we have a number of transits that confirm yes, there are opportunities to grow and build that confidence, in which case the archetype of astrologer as encourager providing accurate, meaningful reflecting of the dynamic that she described, accurate.
Meaningful reflecting of the timelines in front of us and the opportunity to
meet the challenge that she's nervous about and find some success. It's all there. It's it's all right there. So the
natural stepping into a naturally encouraging position is a totally viable way of reading that, but it you have to to know which mode of astrologer to step into. You also have to be able to read kind of read the situation. That's one of the parts of astrology that, frankly, we don't spend a lot of time teaching, you know. So like, for example, let's say someone came in
and they were talking about not They. They want a new job. They're not happy in their current job. They're feeling a little stuck or unsure, but they're demonstrating a real passivity, a sense of not being,
not being interested in figuring out who they are and what they want. They're just like, Yeah, I'm not happy, and I don't know why, and I just can't find a good job, and that passivity is the dominant expression.
I'm not going to hand them a transit that magically solves a lack of investment in their own life. The encourager wouldn't be it wouldn't be quite right for that situation, like, oh yeah, this transit, it's going to come along and solve the issues that for me in that role, the counselor who says, look, what you really need to do is figure out how to get deeply invested. You have to figure out what you love. You have to find motivation. You have to so a little bit more of like a counselor, Coach type of vibe will make sense in situations where a person is needing something like that, as opposed to someone who is,
you know, setting off onto a path and they need encouragement along it, you know. So every situation is archetypal prior to it ever being astrological.
And that's that's a part of counseling astrology that we have to take a look at. And there's some roles that we're going to have a not so easy time inhabiting. You know, for me, it's easy to step into encourager mode. I've got my ascendant ruler is Venus and Leo. So like sometimes, Leos have a pretty natural way of of being encouragers. You know, if you're if you if someone needs empathetic, sensitive, emotional caregiving, for some people, that will be really easy to step into and and not as easy for others. So one of the things that we work at in Nightlight is when it comes to also, like getting to know yourself as an astrologer, is coming to understand what your strengths and weaknesses are in terms of the different modes of astrology that you need to be able to step into in different circumstances, and if you know one is a weak point, okay, well, what move do you make in that context? If you don't, if you if something in you just feels like encouragement is blowing smoke up people's ass because you've got six planets in Capricorn and you just can't handle it. That's fine. But then what does how do you how do you communicate or convey encouragement in a way that doesn't feel like it's betraying your your natural
inclinations? So all of these things are subtle parts of the craft of astrology that we really don't spend time enough developing.
This is why, exactly why, consulting astrologers will always be aI proof it's true. Because, you know, sometimes people need motivating and sometimes people need encouraging. I mean, very rarely do I ever play the role of giving people unsolicited advice about how to live their lives or what they ought to think or what they ought to do.
But there are sessions that come up where sometimes people need
a very like objective. Like, I, I think you might want to take a look at it from a different perspective, you know. Like, consider this perspective. Here's a take on the symbolism of your chart that may show you a side of the situation or dynamic that you're not really considering. And sometimes people need that, and that's really scary, because it can feel like you're, being confrontational, you know, but you're you're you're not doing your job. If at times you don't say there might be two or three other ways of looking at this situation that could actually be very liberating if you, if you shift a little bit. That will often be the case when someone comes in really narrowly or rigidly fixated on something. And when they are in the way they present that your job is often to provide. You know they come in a little sad. You give them a little Gemini, you know what I mean? You get they come in, Jupiter, convicted. This is what's true. This is what's real. This is going on. This is where I need to get to. And you might soften them into more.
Simplicities. Well, here's a few other considerations. What would life look like if you didn't get this? Or what would look like if you weren't exactly like this or that?
Anyway,
I'm so looking forward to being ready for year three. Yeah, I mean year three. Most people in that come through Nightlight end up loving year three the most, because what we're talking about right now is the focus of the entire year worth of curriculum. It's very focused, structured. You know, we're taking a look at how to inhabit the living context of consulting astrologers. So that's really fun. Anyway, I think I'm going to be done for the day, guys. I'm running out of steam, I'm going to take a nap. And I also say this because, hey, we just crossed 1400 backers. We're at 14 101 now if you're listening to this, that does not mean that we have accomplished anything today. We that's a little nice marker for our live stream that we got to 20 people in an hour and 40 minutes. But as of right now, 2043
minus 1401
we need 642
backers, y'all. So that being the case, head
over to the Kickstarter campaign. I'm going to drop the link into the live stream one more time. It is also pinned to the top of the comment section if you're listening to the replay. To the replay one announcement,
because I got sick for three four days in a row and was not able to complete my production schedule, as I usually do,
I am behind on my production schedule, so rather than doing a live stream tomorrow I have recorded an episode because I live streams. Dream me to the point where I can't do any other recordings in a day, like, when I've done a live stream, like, That's it, I'm done. So rather than doing a live stream tomorrow morning, I have a recorded episode that's coming out because I need the rest of the day to record multiple episodes in one day because my production schedule is behind because I got sick. That's just, that's just life so But tomorrow, I'm really excited, because tomorrow you're going to find content released in the morning, as it usually is. I think it releases that like 7am or whatever. And the schedule for the next couple of days is really exciting. Grand finale to our year we will have tomorrow I'm looking at the biggest story for love, sex and relationships in 2026
which is a major period of Venus retrograding in Scorpio
in September through December is like a massive Venus Zone in 2026
with a two squares to Pluto, plus a Venus Retrograde in Scorpio in October. So October is like fireworks for Venus. And, you know, things get real spicy when Venus is in Scorpio. So I have a nice, deep, written reflection. I've got five things to watch for, and I've got horoscopes for Venus retrograde and Scorpio mercury will also turn Retrograde in Scorpio at the exact same time. So that is easily the like love, sex and relationship transit of 2026
I'll be talking about that tomorrow as a way of, kind of prepping us for some of the big energy of the year ahead. And then Tuesday and Wednesday, I will be previewing the Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries. Tuesday, I've got, like, a real deep dive into the archetypes. Wednesday, I've got horoscopes. Wednesday, evening, I've created a guided meditation for all of you as a way of saying thank you, and it that's just purely there for you to enjoy, maybe use as a kind of prayer, visualization for some intention setting New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. And then the rest of the week, there will be horoscopes for January, the big overview for January, all the rest of the stuff. So
let's see if we can't push through the finish line in the next three days. Thank you everyone for making this community so vibrant and wonderful. Much love to all of you. We'll see you again tomorrow. Bye, everyone.
