Okay. Well, thank you everybody for being here. I'm Adam Sweet, as Saffron said, and this is the astrology of Harry Potter. So, it should be really fun, and let's take it away. So, first we're going to look at the outline. First, I'm going to do a quick introduction and cover some things. Then we're going to look at the unanswerable question, but we're going to try and look at what is astrology very briefly. And then we are going to look at the story arc, we're going to look at the characters charts, we're going to look at some event charts, then we are going to look at the story arc via the author's chart, we're going to look at the prophecy briefly towards the end, and then we will conclude.
So, the first thing I want to say here is, spoiler alert, obviously I can't go through all of the characters and the story arc and all of that, without you know, basically ruining the plot for anybody who hasn't read it, so if you haven't and you want to dip out now, I will not be offended. That being said, the books, there's seven of them, which I think is over a 4000 pages, a million words, and there's like 150 hours if you listen to it on Audible, so I will definitely be taking a bird's eye view, because there's no way to get into the nuance of every single character and the stories and all the subplots and everything without, you know, us being here for multiple days, so that I just wanted to put in there too, and I wanted to start us off with a quick disclaimer here, just so we're all on the same page.
This talk is not about the author, JK Rowling, or her personal or political beliefs, which I know are controversial. This talk is not an endorsement of JK Rowling's personal or political views. The author's views are her own and are not a reflection of my views or those of Nightlight Astrology. So, what is the purpose of this talk? This talk is about a beloved series of stories that have universal archetypal meaning and appeal. It is about creativity and exploring the story of Harry Potter through the lens of astrological symbolism, archetypes, and what the books can teach us about prophecy and divination, and it will mainly focus on the characters charts and the event charts, and is not an exhaustive exploration of the author's chart, so.
I do this talk at all. Well, first of all, I am a fan. I actually didn't even really get into reading the books until my late 30s, but then I immediately got hooked, and yeah, I've basically been reading them and rereading them and listening to them ever since, and it's just become sort of like this part of my life, I guess you could say, and the cool thing about the books is that they have very specific dates in them, so that is what you need to do astrology, and when I started plugging these specific dates into my astrology software, it immediately became clear to me. Oh, wow, there's really like something here.
So, none of the characters have actual birth times listed, so all the charts that you're going to see are going to be rectified by me, except for the author's chart, which is widely circulating out there. I'm not sure who rectified that one, but they have very specific birthdays, and you can actually track specific event days, because and then you can kind of triangulate the timing of those based on descriptions in the book. So, when I saw that, I started to put two and two together, and it really all started to come into what we're going to see here today. So, in the books there's also a core theme centered around a divinatory prophecy, which is really interesting, and there's also a lot of commentary on divination and astrology in the books.
They actually study divination at Hogwarts and astrology, and if you read between the lines, there's sort of a lot of really good practical advice for astrologers and diviners. There's also a lot of practical life advice, but especially with the character Professor Trelawney, there's kind of like a lot of do's and don'ts. In my opinion, we're not really going to discuss that today. I thought about taking the talk in that direction, but it kind of went another direction, so that's just something. If you go back and reread them, or think about that all on your own terms, there's a lot there. And then ultimately, what we're doing here today is this is just a big case study in astrological storytelling.
So I want to cite my references, just so we all know I referenced for this talk, the seven books, as well as Beatle the Bard, which is a collection of children's short stories, and then I also reference the Harry Potter canon. So, a canon is anything that is considered fact from the actual author, author in the collection of works, so any of the dates you see, none of that is coming from people's fans' work, it's all coming from the canon, which is verifiable online. Then I use a bunch of my own work, so all of the chart rectification, as I mentioned before, is my own, except for the author's chart, and of course, because I've studied at Nightlight extensively, there's a bunch of Nightlight curriculum in here that, if you notice, you'll probably see where I got some of these ideas.
What I did not reference is the movies I saw, the movies when they first came out, you know, whenever that was, like a decade ago at this point, probably, and I know they venture a little bit from the book, so I didn't reference any of that stuff, and what I also didn't reference was any other astrologers' work or scholars. There are some other astrologers who have done work on Harry Potter, and there's actually even, like, a Harry Potter scholar out there, I believe, but I really wanted this talk to be a representation of my relationship with the with the series, with the astrology, and ultimately with the oracle, and the way that the oracle and astrology speaks through me and my interpretation of it.
So, I know there's other astrologers who have done really good work out there, but I purposely kept my blinders on for this one, so as to not kind of steer my ship in a direction other than where I wanted to go with it. Okay, so now let's briefly discuss what is astrology. So these are my two favorite quotes by Nightlight's very own Adam Ellenbass. Astrology on the surface may appear to be a system of information, but beneath all that, astrology is an imaginary art, a divinatory language, a way of perceiving the world through symbol, metaphor, pattern, and relational intelligence. Meaning is not something that we impose, but something that we participate in, and I love those two quotes, because to me that has shaped how I ultimately look at astrology, and now a lot of the world, and then everybody's favorite quote, time is the moving in.
Image of eternity, of course, that's by Plato, and I think that has a lot to say just about the reality that we all inhabit. So, if all of this is quote unquote true, then astrology should not be bound by time, space, or even by reality. We should be able to peer into the wizarding world through astrology. Let's find out. Okay, let's briefly just cover the story for those of you who aren't familiar and need a little refresher. So, Act One: A young boy who doesn't know he's a wizard learns the truth about himself, his family's past, and steps into the wizarding world. Act two, Harry faces increasingly difficult challenges, and finally meets his enemy face to face.
The evil wizard wizard Voldemort returns to power. Harry learns that he alone will have to defeat the dark lord. And then finally, act three, the resolution, or the final showdown. War breaks out between good and evil. Harry seeks to complete the mission given to him by Dumbledore. In an act of selfless courage, he sacrifices himself, is once again spared from death, and defeats Lord Voldemort in the final duel, and peace is restored to the wizarding world, so Harry ultimately wins not through material power and domination, but through sacrifice, bravery, and love. So, in my mind, it is really a story of attempting to change one's fate or destiny by physical influence over the material world versus non-physical influence, surrender and love versus control and power, and in many ways it's a story that shows us that character is destiny.
So this is another quote that I'm sure all of you are familiar with it's by Heraclitus, and it is commonly translated as a person's character is their fate, a man's character is his guardian spirit, or character is destiny. So, how do we assess character in the birth chart? We can do that by looking at the rising sign, which in ancient Hellenistic astrology is called the helm of the ship. We can look at planets in the first house. We can also look at the ascendant ruler, so the planet that rules that rising sign and its location and dignity. So a native's character arc may be told through the story of their rising sign and the development of their personality through those stories, and if you guys aren't familiar, this material, at least in this first part, where I'm just discussing the character arc of each character, is all coming from unlocking temperament and personality in the birth chart, which is a Nightlight Astrology masterclass.
It's probably my favorite masterclass that I've ever taken at Nightlight, and to me it really changed the way that I look at a birth chart. So every anytime I approach a birth chart, I'm always first looking at it through this lens, which is why I am looking at these charts through this lens to just kind of assess that character, the temperament, the personality right out the gate. So the rising sign significations come from the myth of the zodiac sign occupying the first house, the ruling planet, as I said, the quadruplicities or modalities, which in ancient astrology is tropical, solid, or double-bodied, and the sign's position in the annual solar cycle, and as I said, it's coming from that masterclass, but there's another great book, which I think is where Adam Ellenbass got a lot of his material to synthesize this, and now I'm synthesizing it further, which is kind of how it works in astrology.
And that is that book is called The Astrology of Fate by Liz Green, and there is a chapter in there called Myth of the Zodiac, which is, anybody who hasn't read it, it is a great read, and it's where a lot of these myths come from, besides the actual mythology, obviously, but she kind of synthesizes it really well in there. Okay, so let's start by now going on and looking at the character charts. So let me get my notes situated here, and what I thought would be a really fun way to kind of make this a little bit more interactive on your guys's end, who are listening and following along, is if you want to grab a pen and paper or just make some mental notes, and I thought it would be really fun if I will read the character arc significations before I show the chart, then I'll present a.
Couple quotes, either about or by that character, and then you can try and guess their rising sign on your own, and then I will discuss the chart and show, like, the astrological symbolism and storytelling come to life in their various charts, but if you want to do a little self-study here, maybe you'll learn something along the way too, which is always fun. So, okay, the first chart we're going to talk about is going to be Severus Snape, everybody's least favorite teacher at Hogwarts, and ultimately Severus Snape is he's like the anti-hero of the story. He's a very complicated and mysterious character. He is the potions master at Hogwarts, and we don't really know whose side he's on until the very end of book seven.
Also, his story is, is actually really like a tragic, painful love story of deep devotion, which is what really shapes his character arc through the series, but also who he is as a person, which is kind of resentful and bitter and tempered. Okay, so his character arc is the development of identity through dark primordial chaos and destructiveness, identity as an endless probing of darker, subtler, more subterranean experiences, themes, and topics, and identity as an archetypal battle between light and dark, and this quote I think, really gives you a hint into his rising sign by Snape. He says the mind is not a book to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Okay, here is Snape's chart. Let me pull up my annotate tool here.
So, if you guess Scorpio rising, you would be correct. That is how I rectified Snape's chart, and like I said, all of these charts have very specific birthdays from the canon, and I will take this moment too to just say that all of the characters are going to have London, United Kingdom as the birth location, and that's because JK Rowling said that literally the idea or the story of Harry Potter fell into her head on a train ride back to London, and London is where she really started bringing the story to life. She is famous for having, like, finished writing it and writing most of it in Scotland and a few other places, but really it's London in my mind where that birthplace happened, and so that's why I have all of the character charts with that location.
Okay, so as I said, Snape is a Scorpio rising, which I think perfectly describes his character. The thing I really want to start out by pointing into in his chart is that he has Neptune sitting right on the ascendant, and if you remember Snape's character, he is a double agent, so we actually really don't even know who he's working for until the very, very end of book seven, when all of a sudden his story, like, comes to life and sort of crystallizes, and then we realize, oh my god, he's not who we thought he was, which is a really just fun part of his character. So his ascendant ruler is Mars. It is down here in the double-bodied fire sign of Sagittarius, and it is squaring the North Node at the bending of the North Node, and like I said, he's the potions master, he's very temperamental and strict, and that ascendant ruler is an aversion to the house that it rules there, and he really has, like, a blind spot in my opinion for his kind of bias and hatred towards Harry Potter.
Even Dumbledore has to call him out about it several times, so I think that that really shows up there. So, the next thing I want to point out is he has this exalted moon here in the seventh house of our spouse, but also our closest relationships, and he grows up with Lily Evans, that who becomes Lily Potter, and she is Harry's mother, so he loves Harry's mother, and his story is really this exalted love story of romance and sort of like that young innocent love and he ends up sort of going a different path to the dark side and so he sort of falls out with Lily and never gets to sort. Of that love story never kind of like crystallizes, she ends up going and meeting Harry's dad, and so he has a ton of resentment around that, but he still always carries this deep, deep, deep devotion in his life for her, and that moon is very powerful on his chart, because it's square, the two angles there, as well as square to Uranus, and what happens to Lily is she is suddenly and shockingly murdered by Voldemort, and this is ultimately what makes Snape become a double agent, is he is so troubled and saddened by his master, the Dark Lord, having murdered the love of his life, that he ends up switching sides.
So, my favorite aspect of Snape's chart, which, when I saw this, I was like, wow, this is crazy, is there is an anti-sha in his chart between Jupiter and Saturn, and I'm not going to go into a whole description of anti-share, you can look it up on your own, but essentially what it is, is it is a secret conjunction in signs mirrored across the solstice points that those planets must equal 30 degrees. This is actually a separating anti-sha, because they're they equal 30 and some change, but still to me it being a secret conjunction between the greater benefic Jupiter and the greater malefic really points to that double nature, that sort of double agent nature of his character, that very like you don't know who he's working for, so I just love that symbolism in his chart. All right, let's move on to the next chart. This is Neville Longbottom.
Neville is the classic late bloomer, he's shy, he's insecure, he's forgetful, but ultimately he develops into the archetype of the courageous warrior, and some would even say that he's the real hero in the book, because he's the one who, at the very end of the battle in book seven, he finishes off the last Horcrux, Nagini, which is Snape's, or sorry, not Snape, Voldemort's snake, and it is one of the pieces of the material world that he has embedded his soul in and must be done away with for him to actually be able to be finished off, so Neville Long Bottoms character arc runs through the struggle to individuate power struggles with corrupt authorities, the feeling of being pushed down and needing to rise up, and the interiorizing power and strength.
So this is my interpretation of what Neville grows into be by the time he's at the end of the story, and this is a quote by Dumbledore about Neville. It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends, which I think is so true in life in general. Okay, there is definitely some hints in there. So, you probably all guessed it, that is the Mars archetype, of course, and Mars rules Aries. So, Neville is an Aries rising sign, and his ruler is Mars, which is over here in exile, so any planet that is opposite its domicile is considered to be in detriment or exile, and a planet that's in exile in the ancient Hellenistic text is often described as being like a stranger in a strange land or like a foreigner in a foreign land, and so to me this perfectly represents his character arc, and often I think the things that you see when you study character arcs is that somebody may be born kind of one way, but then they grow, their character development grows into that character, that more archetypal expression of that character arc or that ruling planet over the time of their life, and so Neville, like I said, he's very shy, he doesn't fit in, he's clumsy, but he, what does a planet do? Who were who is in? Sorry, what does a planet do who is in a strange foreign land.
Well, it's going to work hard to make its way back home. It wants to be home, it wants to be careful, or it wants to be able to express itself. And so basically, that's what Neville does, is he repeatedly shows his courage. He shows that he's one of the bravest characters in the entire series. The next thing that I want to look at in his chart is the, the sign, the planet that rules the ninth house. Here is Jupiter. Now, the ninth house in all of these charts to me is going to be Hogwarts, and that's because even though the ninth house is usually associated with things like higher education, the ninth house is the house of divination, of astrology, of higher-minded ideals, and often what we see there is we see things like higher ed, and even though Hogwarts is a school for younger children, it's one of those places where they're they're studying these higher-minded topics like divination, so that is my rationale for choosing the ninth house for Hogwarts, and all of these charts.
So we have the ruler of the ninth, Jupiter, in the sixth, and Neville is, and that Jupiter is also an exile there, and like I said, Neville just does not fit in, he is always picked on by all of the teachers. He's nervous all the time, and then towards the end of the series, he actually is continuously bullied and injured. So, the sixth house is that house of injury and illness. He is injured by teachers at Hogwarts, remember Jupiter also represents teachers and authority figures. So I think that tracks now. I want to look at his moon. So his moon is over here in the 12th house in Pisces, and it is ruling this fourth house here of Cancer, and the fourth house is the house of home and family.
Oh, and I should point this out, so I wanted all these charts to look like they were drawn by the characters themselves, so you can see Neville actually has two Mercuries, because Neville drew it, you know, but actually this is supposed to be Venus, if you go back and look at the at the data, so that moon rules the fourth house. The fourth house is the house of home and family. The moon also represents home and family, and it is in the 12th house, and his parents are famous wizards who fight Voldemort the initial time that he's around, and they are actually driven mad by one of Voldemort's closest allies, Bellatrix, and she drives them to insanity, and they spend the rest of their life in a hospital for mentally ill people, so I saw that, and I was like, wow, that definitely expresses that archetypal story and situation of his life very well.
There, okay, let's go on to the next chart. This is Hermione. Hermione is Harry and Ron's best friend. She is the archetypal, overachieving student, the quintessential sort of intellectual know-it-all. She's incredibly hard working, and she really values knowledge over everything else, and looks at the world in a very materialistic way, not in like a, like a, can't think of the word, not in a way that makes her like lowly, or you know, in a bad way, she just sees stuff very logically, so her character arc is the development of identity through progressive idealism, through noble ideas about what it means to be human, and identity as the ongoing alternation of alienation versus belonging, identity as a process of aspiration versus acceptance.
So, I think if you remember back to her story, you will see that this really is her story throughout the entire series, and these are my favorite quotes by Hermione. She says, most wizards haven't got an ounce of logic. Honestly, am I the only person who's ever bothered to read Hogwarts a history, and just because you're allowed to use magic now does not mean you have to whip your wands out for everything, okay? Okay, so if you guessed Aquarius rising, you would be right, that's that air sign, and the thing that I always think of when I think of Aquarius is I am my ideas to me is like a really quintessential part of an Aquarian rising, and so she, like I said, she really struggles to see the world as magical and mythical, even though she's this really talented witch, she, for example, really.
Struggles with the concept of the Deathly Hallows in the end of book seven, which is basically the task that's given to her by Dumbledore, is to kind of decipher that, and he kind of gives them all their tasks because he knows their sort of weaknesses there, and her weakness is really to see the world as myth and to realize that a story that's in a child's book could also be real, it could be more than just mythology, and that these really like magical themes are actually part of the real world. You could say, okay, so her ascendant ruler is going to be Saturn, and it is up here in the eighth house. Now you can see in her chart there is tremendous emphasis on the eighth house in her chart. So Saturn is in Virgo there, and Virgo to me, when you put Saturn and Virgo together, you really get this like perfectionist, but through relentless hard work, and so the eighth house, too, is that house of our karmic entanglements with others, and this is really the story of her life.
She's basically like a bookworm, but if it wasn't for her friends, her best friends, Ron and Harry, getting her into trouble all the time, she would probably just be camped out in the library, and so you can see the sun is there, the plot line of her life, and the moon is there, and that that karmic entanglements, or just entanglements with other people in her life, really changes the plot line of her life and the setting, and it's really this kind of lens, which all of her story runs through. Also, the eighth house is the house of the esteem of others, so she's constantly being bullied throughout the series for being what's called a mud blood, which is a derogatory term for basically witch or wizard who is born to Muggle parents. Muggle is a term that was created that means non-magical folk, essentially.
So she is this really hard working, really studied witch, but who is basically this mud blood, which, like I said, is derogatory, and that follows her through the whole series, and it's something that she really has to overcome, and it leads to a lot of like interesting dynamics in the story, where her friends are constantly having to stand up for her, she pretends to not be bothered by it, but it really does bother her, and I think it really also is a theme that kind of shapes not only her character but also that plot line and setting of her life. The last thing I want to point out in Hermione's chart is the fact that she has the ruler of the 11th, which is Jupiter, and remember the 11th house is the house of our groups and friends, but also our hopes and dreams, and she has that ruler, Jupiter, over here in the seventh house. The seventh house is the house of our spouse and marriage, and she actually marries her best friend Ron. So I love that connection there. Okay, let's move on to the next chart.
Next, we're going to look at Ron Weasley. So Ron is Harry's best friend, he's loyal, he's funny, but he really struggles with self doubt and feeling overshadowed by others. He's often referred to as just another Weasley, because he has six siblings, but he really shows up for his friends when it matters most with bravery, but also he brings this really wonderful kind of like self-effacing sardonic humor with him that I think is just like so fun. He's such a fun, witty, playful character. His character arc runs through explorations of character dualities, a move from dark to light or light to dark within the character or personality, rivalry, jealousy, envy, or conflict with people who present as a kind of shadow twin image, and the development of internal flexibility of character and self image, and these are my two favorite Ron quotes, I'll be in my bedroom making no noise and pretending I don't exist, and Percy wouldn't recognize a joke if it danced naked in front of him wearing Dobby's tea cozy. Okay, all right, so if you.
S Gemini rising, you would be correct. Ron is a Gemini rising, which is that witty, playful, and fun double-bodied sign. I think it just really represents his great sense of humor, and kind of like, like I said, it's very ironic and sardonic, self-effacing humor, and Gemini is that sign, it's a double-bodied sign, but it's that sign that happens right before the summer solstice in Cancer, and the summer solstice is actually when the light begins to decline. So Gemini is that sign that's very fun and playful, but it's heading into that, even though it's the middle, or like the end of spring, middle of summer, it's heading into that decline of light, and to me that really expresses or represents that sort of like sardonic humor that that Ron so well portrays in his character, so his ascendant ruler is Mercury, and it is up here in the 10th house. It is in Pisces, which means that it is in exile and in its fall, and it is under the beams here. So this is a badly debilitated Mercury in a very visible place, and he is always playing second fiddle to his friend Harry, but also to his brothers. He comes from this very large family.
You can see that stellium down there in the fourth house, and there's this famous scene in the books where he looks into the mirror of Arased, which is a mirror that, when you look into it, it shows you your deepest desires, and what he sees is himself holding the Quidditch cup and standing out of the crowd, and so that really paints the picture to him that his, his deepest desire is really just to be seen, but he's having a really hard time with that, so I think that that really represents that very well up there. So, like I said, he's got that stellium in the fourth. He comes from a very large family, also that Mercury is the ruler of the fourth there, and so also very visible, but very badly debilitated, and the his family is super, super poor and very large, so they're visibly the 10th house, super poor and very large family. Also, he was born on this full moon eclipse, and I think that that really points to that tension there between the setting of his life, being from this large and poor family, and then the sun being up here in the 10th house, and he really wants to shine, but he's sort of at this constant tension.
Remember, oppositions are of the nature of Saturn, there he's got this real tension in his life between those two things, and he is noted as saying I hate being poor throughout the entire series, so a lot of emphasis on that fourth house, and just to point that out even more, he's got the ruler of the 11th of friends in the fourth house, and his friend Harry literally becomes family to him. Harry marries his sister, and he's got the ruler of the ninth house of Hogwarts in his fourth, and all of his family are wizards and witches, and they all went to Hogwarts. Okay, that is Ron's chart. Let's keep moving on. Here, next we will look at Draco Malfoy. So, Draco is Harry's nemesis at school. He is the school bully with his friends Crap and Goyle. He's very arrogant and proud of his pure blood status and his family's wealth, and over time we really see the duality appear in his character, so he presents as this like bully, mean kind of like arrogant, pompous, hardcore kid, but then we see by the end of the series he's really not as cruel as he seems so, his character arc is the development of identity through the upward aims and heroic missions versus the downward pull of the body and its need for freedom, nihilism, nihilism, or hedonism versus ordered, principled approaches to life as fundamental to character development and the despair, existential angst, and the heroic optimistic desire to overcome depression or darkness, and Draco says you'll soon find out some wizarding families are much better than others.
Potter, you don't want to go making. Friends with the wrong sort. Okay, and here's Draco's chart. Draco is a Sagittarius rising. Remember, Sagittarius is that double-bodied sign representing dual nature, so being of two natures, and that really plays out in his character, so by the end of the series we see that, like I said, he doesn't have a cruel heart, his families are all Death Eaters, they're on Lord Voldemort's side, but he just kind of doesn't have it in him, he's supposed to kill Dumbledore, actually, but he's just not a killer, and he basically can't bring himself to do it, so his ascendant ruler, Jupiter, is in the 10th house. Here it's in exile, and in that very visible house of public reputation, and his, he is known for his family's extravagant wealth, so they have a lot of money, and they're very proud of it, but they come across as very like haughty and rude, and I think a lot of times when we see planets that are benefics like that, but in, in like a debilitated state, they can also come across as some of those like more negative significations like that, so Jupiter, being, you know, it can represent things like excess, but then sort of shoving that in somebody's face and maybe not holding it with the most like compassionate character, I would say is how that's showing up for him there.
So the other thing I love about his chart is that he has those two malefics and the North Node co-present with his ascendant ruler, and like I said, his public reputation is that of a bully. He's almost always accompanied by his two sidekicks, Crab and Goyal, who are these kind of like large brooding figures, and they're hanging out with him up there. So to me, when I saw his ascendant ruler, and then the two malefics, I was like, oh, well, that's Draco, and that's Crab, and that's Goyal, and they're all hanging out there in the 10th house, sort of pushing everybody around, trying to get their way. The next thing I want to look at in his chart is the sun, so he has the sun ruling the ninth house, and it is trine to the exaltation ruler of that second house, and it's exactly trine by degree, that's why I'm pointing that out there, and remember, he was born into a very wealthy, pure blood wizarding family, and his resources, that's the second house. There are really part of his identity, and he uses them as this status symbol to really separate himself from the rest of the students at Hogwarts, and he's constantly taunting other people for being poor.
Now that sun rules the ninth house, where we find the moon, and his whole family went to Hogwarts, and they're pure bloods, and they're proud of it, and that son ruling that ninth house there, but in the second house of resources, his family is constantly using their financial status to try and gain favors and exert their control over Hogwarts. I also think it's worth noting in his chart that he has the North Node sitting right on the fixed star Regulus. We're going to see this come up throughout this presentation. Regulus plays a big, big role in all of this, but I think it's worth noting that, and to me, that just really points towards further testimony with his obsession with wealth, power, royalty, and kind of the material world. All right, let's move on to the next chart. I'm just going to grab a sip of my tea here real quick, I'm It, we're going to look at Dumbledore's chart now.
Dumbledore is my personal favorite character in the entire series. He is the head master at Hogwarts. He is the archetypal old wise wizard figure, sort of like Yoda or Gandalf from Lord of the Rings, he's the mastermind behind the plot to overthrow Voldemort, he's kind of like Harry's sort of like teacher in like a very sort of mentor relationship type of way, and he's known as being one of the greatest wizards of all time, so his character arc runs through the development of identity through the carrying of great responsibility or burdens that both harm and heal identity as a great work, a magnum opus requiring great effort, discipline, and perseverance, overcoming the temptation. To become like those very things or people that at one point burdened or even harmed an identity as the acceptance of hard truths without being hardened by them, and there are so many great Dumbledore quotes throughout the book, so it's kind of hard to choose, but these are a few of my favorite that I think really show that old wise wisdom that he carries with him.
After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure. The truth is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution, and we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy. I love that last quote. I feel like that's something everybody comes up against at some point in their life. Okay, if you guessed Capricorn rising, you would be correct. I think that this perfectly represents Dumbledore, because he really embodies that old wise Saturnian wisdom, but he's also incredibly patient and persistent, and he really carries this burden on his back. He feels responsible for educating Voldemort, when Voldemort was just a student at Hogwarts, and sort of ushering Voldemort into the world, and he had his suspicions of Voldemort, but didn't really know that he was going to become this like super powerful evil wizard dude, basically is what happens, but also he feels incredibly burdened by the death of his sister, which is something that kind of changes who he is, because she dies under his care as a young man.
It really changes how he shows up in the world, and it's something that burdens him for the rest of his life. The other thing that I love about the sign Capricorn rising is it is that sign that demarcates the winter solstice, and the winter solstice, even though it's in the middle of winter, it actually marks the return of the light, and so his companion is the magical creature, the phoenix, and the phoenix is associated with rebirth, so the light rising out of the ashes of winter. There, I thought, was some really beautiful symbolism in his chart. Now, his ascendant ruler is Saturn, and it is down here in the earth sign of Taurus. Taurus is ruled by Venus and the moon, and it is that very like pleasant, good-natured, nurturing sign. And we have his ascended rule here in the fifth house, and he is just like such a grounded, down to earth, and pleasant person, like somebody you would just want to sit down and have a cup of tea with, or talk to.
The next thing I want to point out is that he has both the moon and the sun up here in the ninth house, and the really the setting and the plot line of his life runs through Hogwarts. He is the most dedicated to Hogwarts. He is the only headmaster to have ever been buried at Hogwarts, so really everything about his being is just committed to Hogwarts as a school, as a location, as an institution. It's just. it's really beautiful, his dedication to it. Also, we could look at the moon, there, the moon, if we look at it as psychology. The ninth house is that higher-minded ideals, and often other people I've seen associate Dumbledore with like that kind of higher-minded Aquarian sort of idealist, like idealism, but I think you can see that really here with the moon in that ninth house. Okay, so now, as I pointed out earlier, we have Venus right here on the descendant, and his sister dies under his care as a young man, and it is really a burden that he has to carry for the rest of his life.
Also, if we look at the third house as siblings, the ruler of that is Jupiter, and it is over here in the fifth house, but it is conjunct the IC that can also signify the death of his sister, so both of these points are points that you can look at for significations of death, and I think that that really paints that picture to him. So the next thing I want to point out is we have Mars conjunct the South Node. And it is square the moon conjunct Uranus, and what happens in the book is square by degree, that's why I'm really focusing in on that, so what happens in the book is that he is suddenly and shockingly murdered by Snape at the top of the astronomy tower, and in the moment in the book when it happens, it's sort of like a holy cow, holy smokes moment where nobody really saw that coming, and so it's this really dramatic turning point in the story, but the crazy thing about that is that he has the moon up here, and it is applying to conjoin Saturn, the Lord of Death, and that is a trine that we have there.
And what we later learn is that that death was actually planned by him, and Snape, Snape agrees to murder him, and remember, trines are of the nature of Jupiter. Jupiter is that supportive planet, and so to me, I looked at that, and I was like, well, that's assisted suicide right there. So I thought that that symbolism showing up was also just pretty amazing. All right, let's move on to the next chart. Let's look at Tom Riddle, aka Lord Voldemort, or the Dark Lord, or the one who shall not be named. He is the archetypal villain or bad guy, but he really starts off as this very handsome young prominent young, like he's just really he's somebody with a lot of potential, but he goes to the dark side, is basically what happens, and we see little hints of that in the very beginning of his character that Dumbledore points out and is like worried about in the very beginning, but he wants to give him a chance and hope that he can guide him in the right direction, but ultimately he's too obsessed with power and his fear of death and lack of love is ultimately what sort of creates the beginning of his downfall, and then plays out as a theme for the rest of the story, so his character arc is the pursuit and development of individual essence and authenticity, temptations of vain glory, attention, power, or authority, individuation as alignment with legacy, legacy, and authenticity, exploring dichotomies between popularity and self-love, and a search for the origins of authentic selfhood.
There is a lot of quotes by Voldemort in the series, but I tried to pick out a few that really, I think, express his character the best, so there is no good and evil. There is only power, and those too weak to seek it. Greatness inspires envy. Envy engenders spite. Spite spawns lies. I, who have gone further than anybody along the path that leads to immortality. Okay, here's Voldemort's chart. He is a Leo rising, and I think the most potent characteristic in his chart is, a, we have the ascendant degree conjunct that fixed star Regulus, but we also have Neptune conjunct the ascendant, and he is that really powerful wizard. So it's interesting to me that you see this show up in a lot of the charts, like Snape also has Neptune conjunct the Ascendant, and he starts off as a bad guy. I'm like, honestly, not sure what that's all about, but Neptune plays, plays a strong role there, and I think it's that kind of like illusion or deception that magic can can sort of like tailor the world to the way you want it, so like I said, that ascendant degree is sitting on the fixed star Regulus, and Regulus will often tell the story of greatness or of power eclipsed, and Regulus will often entangle the native with a downfall due to corruption or improper use of power, and so this is literally Voldemort's story.
The whole reason why he took action on the prophecy at all is because he was afraid that someone would eclipse his power, and he's ultimately obsessed with power and afraid of death. So, like I said, there's that Neptune there, and I think that that really points. To his great other worldly wizardry, but also the fact that he has a lot of delusions around self grandeur, and also remember Neptune, one of the significations is it can dissolve things, and his body is literally dissolved when the killing curse goes wrong against Harry Potter, and his soul is scattered across the universe, and he literally says something like, I was less than spirit, but still alive, and so when I saw that, I thought that that perfectly encompassed that that kind of Neptune significations there conjunct the ascendant, so I guess ultimately what you could say about Voldemort is he has boundary issues, so okay, he's got the sun, the ascendant ruler conjunct the South Node here in the sixth house of injury and illness, and I think that that also perfectly encompasses his that sort of situation that happens to him after the killing curse goes wrong, is he literally becomes that disembodied serpent.
There, remember, the South Node in Indian astrology is the beheaded body of the serpent, so I think that that symbolism not only does it provide further testimony to this Neptune conjunct the ascendant on Regulus, but it has its own story there too as well, that I think is painting a similar picture. The next thing I want to point out in his chart, that is really a powerful story, is he was born under a balsamic moon, and his story really is very tragic. His mother dies when he, after she gives birth to him, his father abandons his mother because his mother essentially puts his father under a spell to love her. He realizes he doesn't love her when he works up from, wakes up from the spell, and he bails, and so she's stuck. And so Voldemort is ultimately like a mixed blood, but he's obsessed with pure blood, so there's a lot of like ironic symbolism in his character, but before I talk about that balsamic moon, there let me point out that we have the moon representing Mother, and it is applying to conjoin Saturn, the Lord of Death, there in the fifth house of children and pregnancy, and like I said, his mother dies just shortly after giving birth to him, so like Harry Voldemort is an orphan, which is where a lot of his pain, suffering, and struggle comes from.
So that balsamic moon there, balsamic moons can be very otherworldly and very difficult, so often that symbolism can point to like an intense or extremely difficult level of letting go of the past, but also of being in touch with magic, otherworldliness, pain, and loss. So, dark moon symbolism can really encompass like transformation or transfiguration of dark karmic events, which I think is the story of Voldemort, but not in like a spiritually realized sense, in a very transformation of his body to the dark side, so that that balsamic moon really rules his life, but in a way that he's never able to quite integrate, and ultimately ends up being his downfall. All right, let's move on to the next chart. Finally, we have last but not least the hero of the story, Harry Potter, the chosen one, the boy who lived, the boy with the lightning-shaped scar. He is the only wizard who has survived the killing curse, and he did so as a baby due to his mother's sacrificial love. He is the archetypal hero, and really, he's like a very normal and humble boy, but he finds himself in a very difficult and unusual situation where he ultimately shows tremendous courage and love, and that is in the end what helps him defeat Voldemort.
So his character arc runs through explorations of character dualities, purity versus impurity, cleaned versus stained, order versus chaos, service versus servitude, self-worth versus insecurity, and an internal tension leading to self-actualization, and again, so many like he's the main character. Of the story, so many great moments and quotes and everything about him, so I had to just find a couple, so I picked a couple that I think would sort of express who he really is and his character. It was he thought the difference between being dragged into the arena to face a battle to the death and walking into the arena with your head held high, and that's Harry reflecting on the prophecy, and then he says you're the weak one, and you'll never know love or friendship, and I feel sorry for you, so that's Harry to Lord Voldemort in the book, The Order of the Phoenix, which I think really just shows his, his character right there. Okay, Harry is a Virgo rising, and Harry's chart is there's a lot going on there, obviously.
I could have spent an entire hour talking just about his chart, but I thought it would be more potent for me to show how the astrology really tracks all the way through with all the characters, rather than just focus on one or two characters. So, Virgo, again, is that double-bodied sign, meaning of two natures, and he really struggles with duality. He's special, but he doesn't want to be. He's famous, but he doesn't want it. He's the chosen one, but he doesn't want to be the chosen one. And we see his ascendant ruler, Mercury, is up here in the sign of Cancer in the 11th house, and Cancer is that sign that's ruled by the moon and Jupiter, and he's just this really like kind of wonderful, good-natured, loving young boy. So I think that that really expresses his character and how it shows up in the story. Also, Mercury is just the archetypal magician or wizard, and it's also the psychopomp, the guide of souls, fluidity between boundaries, and Harry dies and comes back to life multiple times in the series, the thing that I saw in his chart that was really kind of beautiful to me is the 11th house in ancient Hellenistic astrology is what's called the house of good spirit, and it is associated with what's called the Agathos Daemon, and Agathos Daemon is a benevolent and protective household guardian spirit in ancient Greek mythology, and so the fact that his ascendant ruler is in that 11th house in the sign of Cancer, Cancer is ruled by the moon, which is associated with the mother, and his mother really is his Agathos Daemon, and that's because she is essentially that benevolent protective household guardian.
She steps in front of Voldemort and sacrifices her own life to save her child, which then imbues Harry with ancient love, or I should say ancient magic, which is the magic of love. It cannot be created by any spell or ritual, and it is the thing that ultimately protects him for his battle with Voldemort, so that moon there, his mother is also in an opposition to Saturn, and I look at Saturn in Harry's chart as the piece of Voldemort that embeds itself in Harry when the killing curse goes wrong, and that connection that they share, and so you have the moon separating from that opposition with Saturn, so his mother dies, but Harry survives, and that piece of Voldemort's soul is embedded in Harry, making Harry the eighth Horcrux, so I really loved that symbolism there too. Also, the moon is square to Venus, and she sacrifices her life out of love. She is murdered, basically, because she has so much love for her child, like any mother would, that that saves Harry. Excuse me. The next thing I want to point out in his chart is that he has the sun in the 12th house.
Now, remember, the 11th house is the house of good spirit and the 12th house is the house of bad. Spirit, and that plot line of his life really runs through the plot line of bad spirit of hidden enemies. Also, on a more modern signification, that 12th house is the house of our unconscious, and his hidden enemy literally becomes part of his unconscious mind. They share a connection there that is a real struggle for Harry to have to deal with. It becomes very helpful for him in the end, and it probably would have gone a completely different way if he didn't share that and essentially have access to Voldemort's mind, but I just thought it was so cool that the sun is there in the 12th house, and then that house is like I said, the house of hidden enemies, all right, and then finally there is just one honorable mention that I wanted to do here, and that is Lily Potter, I'm not going to break down her whole character arc. She is Harry's mother, and she's that sacrificial mother figure.
But there is this amazingly beautiful piece of symbolism in her chart that I wanted to point out. So, of course, she would be Cancer rising, like I said, she's that archetypal mother, the moon up here in the ninth house. She's a wizard. And what is that moon about to do? Well, it is about to run into a malefic enclosure, one of the most difficult positions a planet can find itself in. The next aspect it's going to make, so the next aspect of the moon is to come right between the two malefics, but it's doing that by sextile. So sex tiles are of the nature of Venus. Venus is the planet that represents love, and so out of sacrifice of her own life, she saves her child, which imbues him with that ancient and powerfully protective magic, but she passes away. So, when I was looking at her chart, I saw this connection there, and I just, I mean, it just blew my mind, which is obviously everybody who's studied astrology knows that feeling, and it never gets old, that's for sure. All right, let's move on.
So that was all of the character charts that I wanted to go over, and now we will move on to the event charts, so here is the chart of the Killing Curse. The Killing Curse happened on October 31 1981 and in the book they describe it as children are still out trick-or-treating, so I put it as 7pm and also because 7pm is seven is the most magical number according to the Harry Potter series, so that seemed appropriate, and I just want to point out two little pieces of symbolism in this, and then we're going to look at it as transits to some character charts, so we have the exalted Saturn here in Libra, Saturn is the lord of death, and it's exalted and very powerful in this chart. And then the other thing is we have the moon and Venus conjoining Neptune, here Neptune sandwiched in the middle, and Neptune is that problem that, or that planet that really dissolves, right? That's one of the key words that I keep coming back to for Neptune, and so Neptune is dissolving family because both Harry Potter's parents are murdered that night by Voldemort before he gets to Harry, and then his soul is scattered because of the killing curse gone wrong, and then we have Venus here, which represents love and also relationships, and that is being dissolved by Neptune there too.
So that is the night of the killing curse, the event chart. Now let's look at that event chart, but overlaid on top of Lily Potter's chart as transits, so we have that Lord of Death, Saturn there, and it is activating that malefic enclosure in her chart on that night, so to me that was just such prominent symbolism to see that activation there, and know that that is the night that she sacrificed herself. Okay, so now here is the killing curse overlaid onto Harry Potter's chart, we have no. Neptune activating by square Saturn, the Lord of Death, and that piece of Voldemort that's imbued into Harry's soul. And so, what does Neptune do? It comes along and dissolves the Lord of Death, but it also dissolves part of that literally into Harry, then we have the transiting Lord of Death, Saturn, coming along and activating the his ascendant ruler, Mercury, up there in the 11th house, so to me that's a very potent and prominent symbolism to exactly what happened that night.
Okay, now here is the killing curse overlaid on Tom Riddle, aka Lord Voldemort's chart. We have Uranus activating Voldemort's ascendant there, and what happens that night is he expects to go and murder a baby, basically, which is terrible, and instead his soul is shockingly and sudden, suddenly basically exploded, and his body dissolves, and remember that quote I said, it's something along the lines of I was less than spirit, so to me that symbolism there was very potent. Also, we have Neptune sitting right on Mercury, there Mercury in his chart rules that 11th house, Mercury is the psycho pomp, but also that 11th house is the hopes and dreams, and what happens that night is his hopes and dreams of becoming the most powerful wizard in the world is completely annihilated, or again dissolved into nothingness, and then he has to spend the next decade trying to rebuild himself, nurture himself, find a body to inhabit, and it's quite, quite the battle for him.
Okay, this is the death of Dumbledore. I didn't want to look at that chart just on its own. We'll just start by looking at it overlaid on top of Dumbledore's chart, so as I said, Dumbledore dies at the top of the astronomy tower at the hands of Snape, and that is july 1, 1997 at 1am and that's all confirmed in the canon as well. So we have Saturn again, Lord of Death is activating his ascendant. There also it's activating Venus, and to me that was sort of this symbolism of he's going to join his sister in the other world, and we also have Pluto activating his son, and his son rules the eighth house of death, and so he's getting a visit from the god of the underworld, activating that ruler of the house that represents death, and that is the night that he dies. Okay, now we are going to look at the death of Dumbledore's event chart overlaid onto Severus Snape's chart.
So Snape has Saturn squaring his sun, he has Jupiter squaring his moon, and he has Uranus squaring his ascendant degree, so literally, what happens that night is everything changes for him in that moment, even though he's essentially on Dumbledore's side and agrees to kill Dumbledore, because Dumbledore is going to die anyway of a curse gone wrong that's attacking his body, and he knows he's going to die, so he wants Snape to do it. Also, he knows that Draco is going to try and kill him, and he doesn't want Draco, a young boy, to ruin his soul, so he has Snape agree to do it. And what happens that night for Snape is literally Snape changes, so his ascent is activated. The plot line changes of Snape's life because Dumbledore is the only person who knows whose side he's on, so now he's like on his own, and essentially everybody thinks he's just working for Voldemort, and then the setting changes of his life, because, like I said, his one confidant in the world is now dead.
Now this is Death of Dumbledore overlaid on Draco's chart, and the most interesting thing about this chart to me is if we look at that as um. What we're usually looking for with transits is the outer planets activating by three degrees some of the traditional seven natal planets, and so what we see in this chart is none of that's happening, except we have Pluto square his natal nodes there, and to me, that's really like his him resisting the call to join the underworld, to go to the dark side. Ultimately, he's not a killer. He knows that killing somebody in the wizarding world will damage your soul forever, and he does not have that cruel heart. So, I think it's really interesting that there's no activations within three degrees in this chart, really symbolizing the fact that he just couldn't do it, and he wasn't supposed to do it. He wasn't the one to murder Dumbledore that night. All right, now we're gonna go on and look at the story arc via the author's chart, so to me when I was looking at all of this symbolism and my mind was getting blown, I was thinking to myself, How is it possible that all of this works? Like, does she know astrology? Did she study astrology? Did she do all of this on purpose?
So, from my research, the simple answer is no, but sort of. So, let me show you what I think here, and my hypothesis. So, this is my first little piece of testimony. As you know, who have studied ancient Hellenistic astrology, it's often shows up as like a court battle, and you provide testimony to different planets to sort of set up your case. So I kind of wanted to take that angle in terms of like my testimony to her proof of knowledge. So she is so now we're talking JK Rowling, so she basically says she studied astrology, but doesn't quote unquote believe in it, and so in my mind I wanted to look for clues and symbols in the book that proved to me that she knew sun sign astrology to the point to have some really prominent symbolism show up in a powerful way, but that wasn't actually going out and say, for example, taking classes at Nightlight or learning hardcore traditional Hellenistic astrology.
So this chart is from Book Four, Chapter 29 called The Dream, and the quote from there that comes across is Harry watched lazily as Professor Trulani began to point out the fascinating angle Mars was making to Neptune, and so you can look this date up in the canon, and because they have a very specific date mentioned about the Triwizard Tournament. In that date, you can triangulate when this event actually happened, and so it's somewhere around this June 3, like a day or two on the other side, but within like a week of that, and so I pulled up the chart for that, and what I was looking for was that fascinating angle Mars was making to Neptune, and I'm not seeing it, so this is a trine, right, by whole sign, but Mars is at the very early degree here of Virgo, and if this date was a few days before, Mars would actually be in a version to Neptune.
There, Neptune is at the very end degree, 25 degrees Capricorn, and so this is a whole sign trine, which I guess you could consider a fascinating angle, but not something that you would put in a book that really is describing your knowledge of astrology. So to me, I was sort of like that doesn't really track in terms of like concrete astrological knowledge, and so the thing that I found really interesting, though, is if you go on and read this chapter in the book, it's basically where Harry drifts off in class, and then what happens is he has this crazy dream where he is seeing through Lord Voldemort's eyes, and Voldemort is basically agreeing to feed Harry to his snake, Nagini, so he's gonna again murder Harry and feed him to his snake, and to me, what I thought when I read this is this is actually amazing Mars Nepal. Symbolism, Neptune being that dream, and then Mars being like more murder, and him feeding him to a snake. I was like, this is awesome, but is it concrete, like evidence of her knowledge of having studied astrology at the level where you would understand transits and angles in a chart? I don't think so. So, let's move on.
So, now let me show you what I think, and present my hypothesis on how this all did come together. So, what we're going to do here is we're going to look at the story arc of Harry Potter, but through the lens of the author's chart, and show you how that tracks, and then I'll present my hypothesis at the end. So this is JK Rowling's chart. It is widely available online. She does not have a birth time listed, so I'm not sure who rectified this chart, but it is a chart that I've seen used in Nightlight curriculum, and so it's like her, it's like the common chart. So, what we have here is we have Regulus, the fixed star, sitting right on her natal Mercury there at zero degrees Virgo, and if we think about what Regulus represents, so Regulus grants honor, authority, success, fame, and victory, but tends to focus on the development of power and leadership. Regulus will often tell the story of greatness or power eclipsed, either fairly or unfairly. Regulus will often entangle the native with public scandal or downfall due to improper use or balance of power.
And Berndette Brady writes, Regulus indicates power and success, and so is active in the charts of successful people, but the higher this star takes a person, the more they must guard against revenge. And so, ultimately, the story arc of Harry Potter is fundamentally about how power can be used responsibly or abused, and how true strength comes from humility, love, and moral choices rather than domination, and that fixation on power. So, to me, that is symbolism that is starting to crystallize in my mind, where this plot line and story arc for Harry Potter came from. Now, let's go look at the story arc of Harry Potter through secondary progressions. Secondary progressions, as I'm sure you all know, is when you move the chart along day by day, and each one of those equals a year, but we're going to be looking at this in a very symbolic form here, so again, how we're going to look at this is let's keep an eye on her natal Mercury here, but we're going to think of Mercury as the life or character arc of Harry Potter, so this is her birthday.
This is where Mercury is. Harry Potter was just born. Let me progress this along. Okay, so this would be Harry Potter at one year's old August 1, and obviously that's not Harry's birthday, but tracking it out through her natal chart. So Harry, and what's crazy too is like the the 012345 actually tracks exactly with his birthday too. So Harry is one year old, and we see that Mercury there is stationing to turn retrograde now. If we move it on two years old, so between one and two years old is when Harry is attacked by Lord Voldemort, and the killing curse occurs, and so during that time Mercury turns retrograde and begins to make its way back into the heart of the sun, where it will become under the beams and then combust, and is now debilitated, right? Because it's retrograde. Also, it's about to lose tremendous dignity, because it is in the home domicile, and it's exaltation, and now it's about to move out of that.
So, if we keep going, here's three years old, here's four years old, 56789, 1011, and now we see at 11 years old is when Harry. He joins Hogwarts, so he is accepted to Hogwarts. He leaves his family's, so his adopted family, his aunt's house, where there is extremely powerful protective magic put on him, that while ever he's at his aunt's house, Voldemort cannot harm him. So Harry wants to go to Hogwarts. He hates living at his parents or his aunt's house. They are super mean to him, and it's basically a disaster. So he is happy to get out of there, but by getting out of there, what does it do? Well, it puts him in combustion. It puts him in this incredibly vulnerable position. So now this is 11. He's joined Hogwarts and left his, his protective household.
Now 12, so Mercury is getting closer and closer to the sun. There it's burning up 1314, and now 15. We have the Casimi point, and what happens in book five when he's 15 years old is the wizarding world finally admits that Voldemort has returned. It happens at the end of book five. Also, what happens in book five, Order of the Phoenix, is that the actual organization, the Order of the Phoenix is restored, and it is restored partially to protect Harry. So, any planet that is said to be Cazzini is said to be sitting on the throne of the sun, and it is thus protected by the sun, and so not only do does the wizarding world come around and agree to protect Harry, but Harry is sort of anointed this kingly figure as the one who is the chosen one and the one who can actually fulfill the prophecy and finish off Voldemort and restore peace to the wizarding world.
So I hope this is all tracking with you the way it was tracking in my mind. Now, if we keep going, the sun moves back into that combustion because it's moving away from the sun, and this would be 16 years old and 17 years old when the books end. So, also, some people would say that that retrograde conjunction with the sun is like the reset of the synodic cycle of Mercury, that's not how it's taught at Nightlight, but some people look at it that way. So, that's also an interesting correlation, and so to me, what's happening here is, well, Mercury has moved back into combustion, but it is basically headed for safety because it's moving away from the sun. And what happens at the end of book six and seven? Well, basically Harry has to agree to become the chosen one. He has to fight Voldemort and ultimately is successful, but I love the symbolism there of Mercury still debilitated and combust, but it's heading for safety at the end of the series.
Voldemort is essentially killed or destroyed. The battle has been won, and yeah, there is peace restored in the, in the wizarding world. Okay, so to me, I'm still thinking, how, how is it possible that the astrology in the characters charts and event charts works on this level without her purposely having thought it out, so we can start to see that story arc really crystallizing in the author JK Rowling's own natal chart. So, how is it that she did all this? How is this happening? So then I am asked, or I am led to ask in my own mind, where is it that our creative ideas come from, and so for her, as I mentioned in the very beginning of the talk, she said the idea of Harry Potter literally fell into her head on a train ride home back to London, and it was a fully cooked idea. She immediately went home and started writing it down, and she even knew the end of the story from that initial inception moment, so to me, How is it that the astrology in all of these charts works at all?
The astrology in the charts work because the ideas came from the astrology embedded in the author's own natal chart. So I hope you can clearly see the story arc of Harry Potter series in the author's chart, and so my hypothesis is that the muse, the creative muse, the energy that speaks to musicians, authors, writers, poets, speaks to creatives through the placement. Events in their birth chart. Okay, so now lastly I want to briefly, briefly discuss the prophecy. So I'm actually going to read the prophecy really quick, just because I think it's, it's worth, it's worth the read, and it's basically what the entire series, the story arc is based on, and I think there's some really potent symbolism in there, but it also has a lot to teach us about life divination and how we show up in the world, so it says the one with the power to vanquish the dark lord approaches, born to those have born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies, and the dark lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the dark lord knows not, and either must die at the hands of the other, for neither can live while the other survives.
The one with the power to vanquish the dark lord will be born as the seventh month dies, so if you think about the story, there obviously that could either be Harry Potter or Neville, both of their parents are the ones who thrice defeated the dark lord, and they were both born at the end of July. Harry was born July 30-first, and Neville was born july 30. And so, why did Voldemort end up choosing Harry? Well, because Neville is of pure blood, and Harry was like Lord Voldemort. He saw some of himself in Harry. Harry was an orphan, was of mixed blood, and so then he decides to choose Harry. So, what really is the point of the prophecy in my mind? The point of the prophecy is that Voldemort's own choices triggered the prophecy. The prophecy didn't force the outcome, it only said that a child could defeat him, and it was Voldemort's choices to attack Harry that made the prophecy ultimately come true.
So the real point is that prophecies only matter because people act on them, so to say it in Dumbledore's words, or Dumbledore's point is that reality is relational. It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are far more than our abilities, it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be. So it is not our karma that matters as much as what we do with it. So, when in doubt, choose love. Love is the most powerful magic in the entire world, and it is something that I think our world needs a lot more of right now.
