Hope you guys are doing well today. Merry Christmas Eve. If you're celebrating Christmas today or tomorrow with family, I hope you stay safe and warm, and if you're. Not hanging out with anyone and you're feeling a little lonely or sad, then let us be your community for the day. We'll gather together here by the astrological fire and talk about one of the biggest transits of 2026 we're going to take a look today at Jupiter entering the sign of Leo and making maybe one of the biggest transits of the year, alongside of the Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries, which is the opposition that Jupiter and Leo will make to Pluto and Aquarius. Huge, huge aspect. We're going to break it down from several different angles. Today. I have a written reflection for you to consider a kind of archetypal meditation on Jupiter and Leo opposite Pluto and Aquarius that I'm very excited to share. Worked really hard on it. And then I have an I Ching reading for us today. Been following this structure lately, it's been nice. And then some horoscopes. So we will have lots of different ways of getting into this today, and we'll end by telling you where you can find this in your birth chart and what topics are likely to be activated because it's in opposition. I'm going to look at the poodushar detentions between two houses and sets of topics across those two houses. So we'll be looking at two sign pairings at a time, because these delineations can really be flipped in either direction. We're going to cover them that way to simplify it a little bit. Also, I'm fighting off whatever my wife and two girls had they just got over the flu, and my throat, my voice, my body, everything feels like I'm in that familiar space where I could get sick. My body feels like it's like, Hmm, are we going to get sick or not? So I'm going to try to just be a little bit careful with my energy today. But I hope that you're all having nice you know, this week, going into New Year's Solstice, hope you're having happy holidays. I will promote the Kickstarter today because we are coming down the home stretch, and we need a lot of support left to go. So I'll tell you about how you can do that and some of the rewards that you can pick up when you support us. I'll do that in between each little segment today, as always, and then we'll close with any remaining time. I'll take some Q A if there are any questions, though, I'll probably keep Q A a little bit shorter today, again, just to protect and conserve my energy. Also, my kids are home from school. My mom is here visiting with her partner, so I don't want to be up here too long today. So on that note, let's just, first of all, let's do the whole thing. If you have not already, please remember to like and subscribe. It helps us so much. If you listen to the channel regularly and are not yet subscribed, to take two seconds make that subscribe. Click that subscription button. You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website, which is Nightlight astrology.com if you are wondering where our daily videos are, there under the Live tab. During Kickstarter season, we do a lot of live streams. If you're like, hey, I I'm not seeing daily content, look under the Live tab, because all of our live streams are housed there. Tomorrow will be normal recorded content on Christmas day that you can take a look at. It'll be in normally published in the morning, as it usually is, Friday will be another live stream. Sunday will be another live stream. Monday will be a live stream, and then Tuesday, Wednesday, I've got some nice recorded content on Saturn, Neptune and Aries, really the the biggest transit of 2026 that we'll preview. So some nice end of the year stuff. We are coming down the home stretch of our Kickstarter campaign. That means we need a significant amount of help. I'm going to go over to the Kickstarter page right now. Let's take a look at where we're at and how far we still have to go. So let me get out my handy little calculator here at first, let me drop the link to the Kickstarter into the comment section. Here we go. So first of all, to all of you who have already donated to the 1103 of you that have already donated, thank you. We deeply appreciate it. We have about seven days left to go in our Kickstarter campaign. Our goal this year is to get to 2043 backers by New Year's Eve. We know that if we get that backer total, that we're going to be most likely in the range that we need to be in for our budget projections for the year. That's how we do it every year. So in order to get there, let's just see 2043 minus 1103 we need 940 more backers in just seven days. So if you have again not yet supported us, please consider pitching in and supporting us there. Are a ton of really amazing rewards available when you do support us. And I'm going to take you over to the Kickstarter page and tell you about those really quick, and then we'll be on our way. So here is the campaign page. You're going to find the link to donate in the comment section or pin to the top pin to the top of the comment section in the replay or in the description of the video replay. So if you're watching this somewhere or listening to this on Spotify or some other medium, then that's where you'll find it. Find it in the description. You can also go to the Nightlight website, Nightlight astrology.com and just click on the 2026 Kickstarter tab. Anyway, once you go over there, you're going to notice that you can pledge and any and every dollar amount help. A $5 donation is super valuable to us, because it adds up and helps us reach our goal. When you scroll down, you're going to find that there's a bunch of rewards available the astrological calendar of 2026 that maps out where the channel is going in the year ahead. A couple of guided meditations, the astrology of 2026 that's a exclusive lecture that I about hour and a half worth of breaking down all the major transits of the year ahead,
the oracular cosmos. That's my new book. I'll be dropping the first draft chapter by chapter later in the year. You can hop in on that and see it as it's being written. Kind of exclusive, advanced access to the chapter by chapter, drafting of my new book. You can also check out your ahead horoscope readings. We already have 101 people who have chosen this reward. That's almost one like 10th of our backers have picked this one up, and this is going to be lands between four and five hours worth of horoscopes for every sign for the year ahead. So that's an awesome reward. You're going to get a ton of content looking at your horoscope for 2026 given all of those major events, that includes eclipses, that includes major outer planetary shifts, major Retrogrades, the most benefic transits of the year. So really nice reward you can pick up there. There's a bunch of master classes. You can pick up previous master classes. Those are all like 10 to 12 hours worth of content. Some other courses that you'll see listed there, which are cool, some of the readings that are listed there. You can join us for our upcoming masterclass our guild in the year ahead, you can check out masterclass bundles from previous years. There's a lot of really cool content there. And then at the bottom, you're going to see our best reward easily, which are our class passes, if you want to come study with Nightlight, or if you're studying at Nightlight and want to continue your studies into our year two program, our year three program, our horary program, our yearly master class or guild programs, or if you're going to hop in and start with us in year one, these class passes never expire, so you can get a 123, or four class pass that's going to allow you to go through all of our curriculum at your own pace, using those passes whenever you want, and joining us at a price that takes the each program, if you get three or four class pass, for example, down to about 70% off the cost of each course. So it's a great way to bundle and save. We only do this sale once a year. So definitely, the time to do that. Come study with us. If you're on the fence about it, I would just say, do it studying astrology, if you love this channel, if you if astrology is really a main medium for your spiritual life, then you know, come study with us, because the community, the personal, spiritual emphasis on transformation and healing and learning the language at a much deeper level is going to allow astrology to be not just a companion in your life, but something that you wield like really confidently, and you have a lot of advanced ways of using it that are just priceless. It's as priceless as having a, you know, nowadays, having a GPS on your phone when you're driving. I really do think of taking time to deeply learn astrology. If it's something that's already a normal, regular part of your life. It's a next step that I think everyone should take at some point, because it's going to give you a lot more use out of this beautiful language and tool. So anyway, that's my encouragement to you to come study with us in the year ahead. I'll drop the link to the Kickstarter into the comments one last time. Let's see where we're starting at and where we can end up at today. So as of the start of our program, we are at 1103 backers with just seven days left. That means we need over 100 backers a day as our pace to get there. So we need, you know, there's going to be several 100 people that are watching this live today, 1000s of people that listen to the replay. We just need a small percentage of all of you folk to head over to the Kickstarter and support the channel in the year ahead. Of course, this is how I support myself. My staff, 12 people now that work at Nightlight, about three hours a day worth of work that goes into every single piece of content that you receive. So if you value it, please consider pitching in. All right, so one last time. There. There it is. Now let's get into our talk for the day. So first of all, Jupiter in Leo, opposing Pluto in Aquarius is easily one of the most significant transits of the year ahead. But let's see if I can get my screen up here. Let's first, let's take a look at the timing. Mm, so let me I'm going to remove everything from our perspective here. Now on Friday, we're going to be taking a look at the nodes of the moon changing signs, which also, by the way, goes into Leo and Aquarius. Here you can see Pluto is entering or Jupiter is entering Leo right around the end of June. I think if I back this up a day, yeah, it's like June 29 into June 30, that Jupiter will enter the sign of Leo as soon as it does, it's within only about four degrees of the opposition to Pluto that opposition then closes in through the month of July, and is exact about July 20. Then comes a major reset for Jupiter. I want to show you this, because it's very powerful. So here's what I want you to notice. Jupiter is going to receive its reset in the Synodic Cycle, a cazimi with the sun. And as it receives that cazimi With the sun. What I want you to notice is that there's a full moon that comes through in Aquarius. To me, this is easily the biggest lunation cycle of the year. This is the biggest full moon of the year. It happens around July 29 it is happening just days after Jupiter opposes Pluto. And then Jupiter will be cazimi, and then Jupiter and the full moon will be opposite. So to me, that window toward the end of July is one of the most epic windows of 2026 and you can see why Jupiter opposite Pluto on its own is a big deal. But then give it a cazimi as it opposes Jupiter as it opposes Pluto, and give a full moon right around that exact same time, and you are really, really cooking with fire. So this period of time, to me, is incredibly dynamic. You'll be noticing it from late June through the end of July. That period of time in the year is just epic. So what I want to do now is read to you reflection that I wrote. I think I've told you guys, I'm in the midst of draft pre drafting my new book, and so with these end of the year talks, I wrote something for each of them. I wrote these weeks ago now, but I spent time trying to craft a kind of reflective essay about what I think the archetypal combination looks like and feels like. So I'm going to read this to you guys. It'll be just a kind of, you know, probing exploration of Jupiter in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius. I then have any Ching reading to pair with it. I also have a list of things that I want us to watch for, collectively as the title of today's talk implies, I think that there is the potential for major shifts around institutions and the leadership or direction of institutions through its leaders, that is a big part of this transit. I think even though my channel is not focused on mundane astrology, and you all know that I focus on our personal experience, this is a big one. And when I think something is so clearly going to have collective ramifications. I will usually say something about it. And so I'll give you 10 things that I have listed as archetypal expressions we're likely to see in the collective this summer after I go through the personal section here, and I'll give you that too. So, all right, I'm hmm.
Okay, so when, when Jupiter enters Leo, a question that rises up. It's not as simple as what do I want? We might think that Jupiter in Leo will be a very selfish transit of Jupiter. It's all about me. What do I want? But I think Jupiter in Leo has a quieter, heavier. A more enduring voice with Jupiter and Leo, I think the appropriate question, the deeper question is, what am I living for? Even as the sun is already on its way down, let me explain, Leo is ruled by the sun, and yet it governs the season in which the sun's strength has begun its steady decline. The light is still strong in mid summer, from the standpoint of the symbolic standpoint of the Northern Hemisphere, it's still warm. The light is still commanding, but its peak has already passed. From Leo forward, the days are consistently getting shorter. What Leo has always asked us to contemplate is not immortality but legacy, not endless vitality, but the meaning of vitality in the face of its inevitable fading. I think this is why Leo has always been bound to themes of heroism, kingship, lineage, moral vision. It's not just about self expression. It's about orientation. It's about what holds the center of our lives when decline is unavoidable. It's an unavoidable fact of life that the light fades, that the sun sets, that the solar year wanes. Jupiter in Leo is about what gives a life coherence, even when the inevitabilities of death, old age, illness, loss and suffering are not abstractions, but certainties. And Jupiter entering Leo can actually amplify this question dramatically, because Jupiter is the planet of meaning and belief and moral architecture. Jupiter has long been associated not just with wealth, abundance, blessings, good luck, but with religion, with law, with cosmology and the stories that civilizations tell to justify their existence. Jupiter asks a question like, What is the story that makes something worth doing? What is the myth that gives a sacrifice dignity? What do we believe in strongly enough to organize our lives around something just like the Solar System organizes itself around the sun, so in the sign of Leo, Jupiter searches for meaning that can be embodied, not just agreed upon. It's meaning that lives in the heart, not just the intellect. It's meaning that survives the sunset of life, because it was never dependent on endless daylight to begin with. And this is where a temptation arises, because when our hunger for meaning intensifies, when it gets louder and more dominant, the ego will naturally look for substitutes that promise, permanence, fame, recognition, authority, influence. We all want to be influential, being remembered, being seen, being indispensable. These can masquerade. They're like masks of transcendence that are quietly feeding the obsessive fear of disappearance or of irrelevance. So Jupiter in Leo actually forces us to distinguish between what we grasp at in order to feel eternal or special and what we serve, because it outlives us. It outlives our ego. It outlives anything that we could personally stake ourselves upon or our happiness upon because we know it won't last forever. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with ambition. There's nothing wrong with striving, with wanting one's life to matter, in fact, without a sense of purpose, life collapses into nihilism or despair or depression or apathy, things that Jupiter and Leo actively fights against,
even in Buddhist terms. I think I've told you guys, I've been studying Rhett a lot, just like going to the buffet of wonderful podcasts on Buddhist philosophy and books, and I've been reading a lot of Gary Snyder, if you know who he is, and really enjoying it. But in Buddhist terms, the ego at its best is not an enemy at all. It's like a raft. A raft is an image that's commonly used in Buddhism, something that helps us across to the far shore. An ego is a temporary, provisional structure that allows us to cross from confusion toward clarity in a lifetime. We need an ego. It's a helper kindness in as it is to. Displayed through an ego, generosity, as it is, displayed through an ego, compassion, even spiritual ambition. These are tools that can be very helpful now. They may one day wear thin. We cannot be liked, loved and cherished forever. Just because we are kind, generous or compassionate, we will die, and it is very likely that at some point no one will ever remember who we were. So even kindness, generosity, compassion, spiritual, ambition, they may one day wear thin, they may need to be relinquished, but they can still carry us part of the way, and Jupiter and Leo understands this. Jupiter isn't naive about the human need for structure, for story, for motivation, for aspiration. Jupiter and Leo knows that people require myth, not a lie or a fantasy, but an orienting narrative that gives moral direction and that gives a place for suffering and effort. And yet, here's the most important part, Jupiter in Leo insists that this myth be worthy, that it be royal. What does it mean to be worthy and royal in a deep soul based way? I Rey, the myth must be worthy, so that it not collapse the moment applause fades, that it not depend entirely on recognition, that it not confuse being seen with leading a meaningful life. And to me, this is where a Buddhist lens is especially clarifying. Again, not that I'm telling you all to go be Buddhist, just happens to be the stream I'm in at the moment. Because Buddhism doesn't ask us to deny the life that we're here to live. Neither does many versions of Vedic philosophy. It doesn't say the story dissolves the moment insight arises, or that your purpose in life evaporates once impermanence is seen clearly for what it is. Buddhism questions, not so much. It's not about not having a story, but it's that false idea that a story can save us. All we need is the right story in achieving the right outcome in the right story, and that will eliminate the problem of suffering, that will eliminate the problem of impermanence, that will once and forever solve our problems. Because from a Buddhist perspective, the problem isn't meaning. It's clinging. It's not identity. Having an identity isn't out of bounds for Buddhists. It's not identity that's a problem. It's fixation. It's not ambition that's the problem, but the belief that fulfillment can be secured permanently through forms that will die, that will fade, that will fall, fall away. The Buddha didn't teach that the raft should be thrown away before the river is crossed. Though right, the raft is necessary. It's skillful, it's compassionate. But suffering arises when we forget that the raft is a means, not a destination. So having a meaning, a purpose, a narrative, a heroic, mythic journey. These are tools that we use to help us cross a river, but we can't confuse these things for the destination. So in this particular way, Jupiter in Leo represents a karmic narrative that we are still inhabiting a life that has a momentum, temperament, calling and direction. And there's a story here, and if we were to just suppress it in the name of spiritual purity, that would only create another form of suffering, one rooted in repression or guilt or false transcendence. So the Buddhist path would not ask us to silence the heart, or abandon the mission, or abandon the quest, or not have a myth that we find meaning in it. Would ask us to walk it without clutching it, to walk it without believing it will solve all of our problems. And you would think most of us listening to this would probably think, Well, I wouldn't do that. But do you know nine out of 10 astrology sessions probably start with someone saying, I just don't know what my purpose is. See the modern the myth of modernity is, find your purpose, find your passion. Become somewhat successful, famous and recognized and validated socially for how special and influential or masterful you are at something, and that's what will grant you lasting happiness. So Jupiter and Leo, at a very deep level, will ask us to live the heroic Ark, but not worship it and clutch and clutch. Into it, to pursue meaning, but not mistake meaning for liberation, to accept the role that we're playing in this lifetime while knowing it's not ultimately who we are. In this way, I think Jupiter in Leo can be honored as right intent. It's the effort to live ethically, courageously, generously from the heart with purpose, even though all such efforts will fade and die like the sun, even though they will one day disappear, even though the ego will die, ego will die, and this lifetime will have been like a little bubble popping on a river, even though myths and meaning can't protect us from loss and suffering either. Now what's interesting to me is that we have this opposition forming between Jupiter in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius, because directly across the sky from Jupiter and Leo, Pluto and Aquarius is watching all of this with this kind of unblinking gaze. Pluto represents power, but typically not in its most visible forms. It governs the subterranean currents, the systems, the institutions, the technologies, the ideologies and the collective forces that shape reality, regardless of individual intention or individual myth. In Aquarius, Pluto exposes, and I've talked about this in many talks previously, some webinars too. Pluto exposes how power circulates through groups, networks, narratives and future directions for such groups, institutions governments, that not one single person controls the destiny of so this is where the pressure comes in, because Pluto in Aquarius will exert, for example, the force of conformity, not always overtly, often very subtly, through social expectations, through technological norms, through political identities, through institutional loyalties and the quiet implication that belonging and feeling like you belong requires that you align yourself with something collective. Survival requires compliance, that relevance requires participation in whatever story the collective machinery is currently telling. So under this opposition, Jupiter and Leo may feel challenged or marginalized or questioned, the personal myth can be told explicitly or implicitly that it has no place, it's outdated, it's inconvenient, it doesn't scale, it does not serve the future as defined by the system. Think, for example, of publishing a book, it's a good book. You've poured your heart and soul into it. Pluto in Aquarius says, Well, this won't sell. It's not of the moment. I remember when I was in graduate school and I was writing a book, my first book, fishers of men, which was about ayahuasca, entheogens medicine, deconstructing the evangelical Christian upbringing that I was brought up in as a preacher's kid through Ayahuasca ceremonies, generational family healing. I thought there was a lot to love about the story. My MFA workshop advisor through the paper after he read it on the table in front of me, in front of the entire workshop, and said, the 60s are over. This doesn't have a place in the market right now. That hurt. That really, I mean, that was one of the most devastating moments for me in graduate school, because I poured my whole heart into this. So I think of that story right now, because under this opposition again, Jupiter and Leo can feel challenged, marginalized, or questions this is outdated. That's inconvenient your your personal myth doesn't scale. It doesn't fit in. It's not a part of the future that the system is pointing us toward that is again a painful place to stand, because there's truth on both sides.
At the time, my professor didn't know that we were about to experience a major renaissance of the interest in entheogens, and that my book would, in fact, find a mainstream publisher, because there was a need for it. You know. Now, at that time, Neptune was in Aquarius and it was opposing my natal Venus and Leo. There's no place for this? Well, it turned out there was, there was a place for it. But in order to find that place, I had to leave the familiar grounds of institutional academic writing, and I had to take a risk. I had to move to New York City rather than taking a job at a community college teaching English. You know. I had to take some risks that I could find a space that was evolving or developing, that my personal myth could fit into. And there is a feeling that you might be alone. You might not have any place for your voice. There may not be any place that understands what you're doing. No meaningful life exists in a vacuum. Our Stories inevitably overlap with stories around us. Ideally, there is a shared space, I think of like a Venn diagram, where personal purpose will intersect with collective need in a meaningful way. One's vocation contributes something real to a community, a lineage or a future that's bigger than oneself, that's always the ideal, that's always what we hope for, but finding that intersection is often, for each of us a crucible. There is no place for me in this world. I don't belong. I can't find a way of fitting my personal myth into the collective myths. Sometimes you have to make adjustments, make difficult compromises so that something of your myth finds something of a fit. Other times you have to be completely uncompromising, push forward, reject the pressure to conform and wait until your moment arrives. It's never easy to know which is the right one, to do compromise or be uncompromising. Finding that intersection is not easy the Venn diagram between my personal myth and the collective myth. Where do they meaningfully overlap? Sometimes this requires saying no to good values, no to good movements, no to good groups, no to visions of progress that are sincerely held and morally compelling to you or to me, not because they're wrong, but because the cost of participation would be the suppression of something essential to who we are as an individual, something that, if we abandoned, would hollow out our very soul. I think that under Pluto and Aquarius, there can be this like unspoken, accusatory voice, that refusing to sacrifice oneself entirely to the collective is selfish, the individuality is indulgent, that standing apart is dangerous, and that the machinery has to move forward, and if you are not aligned with it, then you're against us. I want to say that Jupiter in Leo, paradoxically, can push back. And you wouldn't think of Jupiter in Leo as the revolutionary. You would typically think of Pluto in Aquarius as the revolutionary, but it can be actually just the opposite. Jupiter in Leo can push back with this rebellious voice. Is a future that cannot make room for the heart worth anything. Is a future. Is progress without meaning? Actually progress are systems that demand total compliance, actually wise a revolution or a rebellion of the heart says, I don't care how good it is, I don't care how morally elevated it is, I don't care what greatest future it's going to provide us with. If it suppresses individuality, it is not for me, and that can actually be very revolutionary.
At the same time, the opposition reveals another temptation. When new eras emerge, technologies shift, institutions transform, collective narratives gain momentum, there's an opportunity to ride the wave. You may find, quite naturally, that you're becoming a spokesperson. You may find that there's an opportunity to become relevant that wasn't there and suddenly it is. You may find that it is somewhat easier to build identity, authority or status within your field, or whatever you're trying to build through proximity to someone or something that's empowering and all of that can there's nothing necessarily wrong with any of that Pluto can empower, in other words, as much as it can erase or suppress. Now, if Jupiter and Leo is left unexamined, then it can become a little dark. Ah, this is my time to become the spokesperson, to capitalize on relevance, to build up my identity, my authority, my status, because I'm near someone who is powerful, right? It can become like that too. And if Jupiter in Leo is unexamined, we may be tempted to conflate alignment with destiny. Oh, wow, someone or something is empowering me to make me more visible and. So I'm I make the mistake of not seeing the opportunism that's at work in myself, and then thinking that I've been destined to become something bigger and more important and special than other people. It can the opportunity to catch a wave collectively that empowers us personally. In other words, can be deeply delusional. We can mistake, oh, this is destiny, you know. And actually it's maybe corrosive, dark, powerful forces that are tempting to empower us, and in order to justify it to ourselves and take advantage of it, we just say, well, it just must be my destiny. We don't actually explore the value or integrity of what is empowering us. I've seen this so many times, so many times, in Pluto transits to people's Charts, where the opportunity to grow in power, fame, richness, wealth, etc, comes from someone or something that they're very suspicious about. Well, this is something to keep in mind, discernment will be crucial. Not every opportunity is going to be a calling, not every trend will be a truth. Not every platform is a real throne, but sometimes alignment is very real. How do you discern? Sometimes? A personal heroic journey genuinely meets and aligns with a collective need. Sometimes a voice is required, sometimes a story arrives at exactly the right moment. Sometimes Pluto opens doors rather than closing them. Sometimes Pluto accelerates growth influence and success in ways that are fated, not forced. Doesn't deny this possibility the opposition doesn't, but it does test it. It asks, Is this power serving the heart or consuming? It? Is this success deepening meaning or cheapening? It is this alignment of vocation, or is it a transaction?
From a Buddhist view, going back to some thoughts on Buddhist philosophy, Pluto and Aquarius is like dependent origination in Buddhist philosophy made visible. It's a reminder that no personal myth exists outside of collective social, ecological conditions, that our stories are embedded in, causes, systems, histories, collective forces has to be recognized. It can't be ignored or avoided. Suffering arises when Jupiter and Leo believes that its story should be exempt from being part of a universal ecosystem, when the heart demands permanence, when meaning demands control, when our egos insist that it narrow, its narrative be validated, protected or enforced by the collective. So again, wisdom arises for Jupiter and Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius, when wisdom, when our stories are being lived without trying to hold them and possess them too tightly. We want hearts acting fully but releasing outcomes. We want purpose expressed, not possessed. We want leadership creativity and devotion offered as gifts rather than transactional guarantees. In this light, alignment becomes possible between personal purpose and collective reality. It's not forced. It's listened for. I think of surfers that know the right time to catch a wave. Sometimes the wisest action is participation in a collective narrative. Sometimes it's refusal, sometimes it's stepping forward, sometimes it's stepping away. But the measure can't be purely success or recognition. Live the life that you're here to live. I think this opposition says, but don't demand that it complete. You serve the world where you can but don't sacrifice your integrity to its machinery. Let meaning guide you every step of the way in all of your actions. But let impermanence soften your grip over where it's all heading. In this way, I think that the heart can burn bright even as the sun sets. Okay, well, those are my reflective thoughts for today. I hope that you all enjoyed it.
You here's the link to the Kickstarter campaign. It is back into the comment section. Let's see how we're doing. I'm gonna head over there. We were at 1103 we're at 1109 which means we have got. Gotten six backers at 45 minutes in. We need, like 100 today to keep pace. You know, a simple way to say Merry Christmas to the Nightlight channel that you love is to drop $5 in the hat. Help us meet our goal. Support the channel be one of our patrons in the year ahead. We deeply appreciate it. You can find the link there. You'll find it pinned to the top of the comment section, and you will also find it in the description of the video. Thank you so much to everyone for supporting us. We not just myself, but the whole team. We really love you guys. We have a great community of subscribers and a great community of students. So what I'm going to do now is I want to talk briefly about how I see this playing out collectively, because I do think this is a transit that has serious collective ramifications, which is why I did mention new orders and deaths of leaders in the title of today's talk. That's not dramatic, that's accurate. So let's actually talk about why that's the case and what we might be seeing collectively. Because if and when I do see things that I strike me as very collective, I usually do say something on the channel, though it's not typically my focus, right? So I'm going to give you 10 things that I think we're going to see collectively in July, throughout the year, for sure, because we have eclipses in Aquarius and Leo, but for sure, for sure, that late part of July into August, these are themes that I could see anytime throughout the year. We're probably constellating Around that time for the collective I'm going to go through them quickly, because I don't want to labor them or become political at a time that I really want to be focused on. You know, our personal paths, but one thing I would watch for would be charismatic leaders and decentralized power structures. So when you have people standing up to speak out or up for a system or a structure or against it, and they really come into the spotlight in good ways, in bad ways, in controversial ways and exciting ways. Leaders and either their representation of or defiance of various system structures institutions will probably peak around that transit, I would not be surprised to have a deep to see a deeper cultural conversation happening over you know, who gets to be seen, visibility, relevance, legitimacy, whose stories or voices are amplified and whose are marginalized will come into very serious level Exchange, or the frustrations and conflicts around those kinds of topics, identity, power, voicing marginalization, those themes will peak in July. How are we reconstructing or telling ourselves new stories or creating new myths because of rapid expansion of technology. Remember, in July, Uranus and Gemini will trine Pluto and Aquarius at the same time, Jupiter and Leo opposes Pluto and Aquarius. So we're going to be asking ourselves, what role does the individual play within the unfolding technological narratives that are emerging, and what is, what are the new myths we're going to live by, and the conversations we're going to have about personhood in an age of AI, for example, when we think about resistance to conformity, conversations about algorithmic identity and conformity and further push back against technologies or institutions that reduce humans to data points or ideological categories. Those kinds of things could be especially potent during that month of July, ethical crises around fame or influence or authority, public reckonings involving celebrities, spiritual political leaders, Pluto and Aquarius, can expose things that are corrupt within institutions, government systems or structures or within the lives of leaders or public people, new forms of collective identity and new fractures. Let's call it. What I mean by this is the potential to experiment around social and collective identity. I wouldn't be surprised to see new, like, very striking collective trends and like, what's what's becoming popular, or how is, how our conversations about community, collective and cultural systems of belonging or participation being shaped or redefined? That would be very normal for the Jupiter in Leo opposite Pluto and Aquarius. Is, I think, that the potential for very revolutionary acts of creativity that are seen and witnessed collectively, whether that's a film that comes out, or a movement in music that emerges, or like trends around art creativity, and the way that art has the power to comment on things politically or structurally like, think of the art art in the late 60s, mid to late 60s, and how it participated in a kind of political and cultural moment of renaissance that would be very Jupiter opposite Pluto And Leo in that like late July. Timing, I think that questions about Jupiter and Leo opposite Pluto and Aquarius can try to leverage morality as a form of social pressure. So when we think you're going to be harmed unless you say this or do this or conform in this way, those pressures that say will blot you out personally, unless you conform to this standard. You often like moral or political standard, that kind of suppressive, authoritarian push to make people fit into a narrative could be really strong during that time. I think that there's a generational tension with Jupiter and Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius, like Pluto in Aquarius is often about the future. Jupiter and Leo will often be like your old grandpa, who you know, is situated in his way of doing things. And egos may need to adapt to where future, the future is heading. You know, personalities may need to open themselves and adapt. And then, I would say, probably some pretty deep questions about whether various technological, social, institutional advancements are coming at the cost of meaning or personhood. So those are some of the things that I would anticipate. Collectively, it would also not be at all out of the question to see destabilization in the lives of political leaders or regimes or governmental structures. Jupiter and Leo opposite Pluto and Aquarius is like, you know, the revolutionaries going into the palace and, you know, dragging the king out into the streets and executing him. I know that sounds really dramatic, but it's a very intense transit that can lead to massive changes in leadership structures, and it can lead to things like, you know, political leaders or regimes being taken over or replaced, or significant reform happening within them, as well as the potential for tremendous acts of suppression or power or dominance coming from governmental agencies. So, you know, that's all. That's a, you know, we're in a Saturn Neptune year as well. So it's this year has some major outer planetary signatures in it. I can't imagine any of it happening outside of collective conversations about evolving technology, with Jupiter, with Uranus and Pluto, also Trine from Gemini to Aquarius this year. All right, so I just wanted to say a few things about that.
I did an I Ching reading, so
I'm going to take you through that now, but first, just a reminder, as we are about an hour into our talk today,
Kickstarter link is in the comment section, pinned to the top, if you're listening to the replay in The description of the video, we have about 10 backers or so that have come in during today's live stream. We need 100 for the day to keep pace, which means, if you haven't yet pitched in, please consider taking a moment to head over there and be our patron on Christmas Eve. We really appreciate it. All right, let's go into the I Ching next the I Ching came back just beautiful. The first I Ching hexagram that came back from my reading this morning was hexagram 20. I'm going to read you the Oracle text. Tell you why this is a good match after I go through this. I'm gonna have to take, like, a very brief bathroom break, all right?
Not getting sick. I'm not gonna get sick. Okay? Before you proceed, give the matter a thorough reassessment. This is the Oracle text for hexagram 20, called observation. It's wind over Earth. Give the matter a thorough reassessment, a more complete observation of the situation is called for. Do you know your own merits and your own faults? Are you sure that you are entirely in the right honor the gods and ancestors to receive further insight? Sometimes it's not the judgment that needs observation, but the judge to contemplate the matter. Go alone where you can observe the wind moving the earth, nature will give you the counsel you seek. A wind rustles the earth, watching, observing kings past call upon the four guardians of the universe to aid them toward the correct guidance of their people. You must see and also be seen. Others will then put their trust and faith in you. In the ancient rituals of honoring the divine. There is a moment of quiet introspection between the commencement of prayers to the divine and the explicit appeal to the Divine for support in human endeavors, along with the ceremonial sacrifice that in between moment of quiet introspection is where you are now. Make the most of it. This is the time for you to cleanse yourself of inferior motivations, re evaluate the inquiry at hand, restate for yourself what your motivations are. If your true motivations do not align with the divine, adjust them, then you're ready to ask the Oracle for the answer, after sincere contemplation of the matter at hand, then proceed with a second divination. There's need for contemplation re evaluate your motivations behind the endeavor. Observe, observe the wind, observe the earth. Now, in particular, the sixth line was changing. I'm going to read you that watching and observing their birth, their life, the sage is blameless. What you decide, how you act, what you've done in your past, none of it matters. None of it is punishable, as long as you have been earnest and have taken every step with care, act with care. That's all that matters. No errors have been made, no matter what calamities seem to have befallen them. The one who is judicious and prudent is the one who has not erred. Rather than address your inquiry directly, the Oracle has taken this opportunity to watch, observe and reflect on this populated world, whether the Oracle is talking about one other person or many other people, a group, a society, a civilization, or an eon span of humanity that is an understanding that will be reached privately between the Oracle and you. Beautiful.
So the second hexagram is hexagram eight, and I'm going to put this up on the screen. It's called bonding. And here's the Oracle text for the second hexagram.
Oops.
Here we go, hexagram eight, called Alliance, or bonding. This is the omen of one who follows a good role model, cultivates greatness, then becomes a role model that others follow. Alliance of heart and mind, eternal well being is prophesized be a connector, one who brings people together to bring many together. You occupy many worlds, have your foot in many doors. Then when tides turn, no matter in which direction, you have a safety net. Two stand together, one linked to the other, bonding for strength, an alliance kinship. Seek alliances with those who share your truth. So nice, a nice sequence here, hexagram 20, sometimes called observation or contemplation, depicts the stance of a sage or a priest standing high on a watchtower, observing the patterns of the stars, observing a moment of Prayer, standing between the space of inquiry and sacrifice. So the one of the meanings of the hexagram is to see without interference, to see clearly, to be in a contemplative open space, for example, as diviners, people who read charts for other people, we talk about this a lot in my pro. Grams, you have to have practices in your life that allow you to have an open, clear mind, because then the sage can speak through pattern recognition that comes through your intuition. It's really hard to do that if you don't have practices of self care that keep your spirit healthy, that keep your mind open and clear and clean, so to speak. And this hexagram talks about that. It's about seeing clearly without interference. It literally describes someone like, I said, who climbed up a tower to perceive, to get like that 20,000 foot view in classical teaching terms, this is associated with a ruler, a priest or a sage, who is performing ritual purification before speaking on a matter publicly. This, I think, is immediately resonant with Jupiter and Leo, the desire to live meaningfully, to potentially orient others through your encouragement or your leadership, to stand at the center of something, but in order to do that, this hexagram says, Wait, look, contemplate. And in the context of Pluto and Aquarius, I think this is really important, because Pluto exposes systems, power flows, different kinds of collective pressure and invisible forces that are societal. Hexagram 20 is sort of saying, Don't react to power. Don't immediately align or resist. First understand who you are and what you're actually standing inside of. This is like ethical perception of who you are and what you stand in relation to. What is the system really asking of me? What cost would what would it cost me to belong or participate in a certain social or societal setting? What would it cost me not to where is power flowing and where is it draining? So this hexagram is like really taking a moment to observe and contemplate the role of a person in relation to a collective this is, for example, if the priest climbs the high tower and observes the patterns of the stars on behalf of a king, a ruler and their prognostication is going to have collective relevance, then this person is acting as a personal intermediary between Personal and collective forces, the king and the people and the diviner is standing there contemplating, how do I join the king's decree that I have to interpret from the gods to him and then he has to give to the people. So in that kind of ancient, classical setting, the person in hexagram 20 is trying to mediate personal and collective forces by standing and observing before acting. In line six, the highest gaze turns inward. You're up on that tower, and it says, contemplation of one's own life. The sage reflects on himself. He observes His own course. That line in particular is not how am I perceived? How much influence do I have? Am I relevant to the future? But rather, is this life I'm living reducible to ego maintenance? Does this story increase or decrease suffering? Would I still live this way if no one ever validated it before you bond with anything, which is the next hexagram, look honestly at yourself and evaluate the situation. Look at where you are, who you are, where you stand as a person in relation to a collective and get really honest about you and the course of your life. That's the sixth line in particular. And then hexagram eight bonding comes in and and asks us, like, if you think about the hexagram bonding as who or what I will join with, who do you join and why? Or if you're going to lead something, Are you the kind of other? Are you the kind of person that others can easily, happily, safely join? So in other words, belong carefully through careful self contemplation, or lead carefully through careful self purification and self contemplation, there's hexagram eight has a lot to do with the right timing to bond or join with allies or groups as well. Belonging that comes to early or without clarity leads to entanglement and suffering. So this hexagram is really about contemplating the patterns of your life, contemplating the tensions between personal and collective, and then joining the right thing for the right reasons, bonding yourself to the right people for the right reasons, or if you're leading, then leading from the right place within yourself, from a kind of purified, self reflective, self aware place. And then the right kind of people will also bond to you. If you're leading something really nice. Simple sequence of hexagrams. Okay, I
think we're just about ready to switch into horoscopes. Let me just get my notes up here.
Okay, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to take a very quick bathroom break, because we're a little over an hour in and I have drank a lot of water and smoothie. I gotta take a pee break. I'll be right back, and we'll keep going. You
okie dokie i Hmm, how's everybody doing? All right, let's see.
Okay, before we get into some horoscopes, next, I'm going to put the link to the Kickstarter campaign back into the chat box. If you're watching the replay, it's pinned to the top of the comment section or in the description of the video, excuse me so you can find it there. We've had, I think, about 13 or 14 backers since the start of our program today, with about seven days left. We have just over 900 more backers left to go. So take a second to pitch in. If you haven't, we really appreciate it. Can't do this work without all of you on that note, let us go back into horoscopes. So I am going to, I'm going to put the Jupiter Pluto opposition up on the screen, and we're going to be reading this in pairs. I'm
all right, here we go.
You backed? Oh, thank you. Thanks for Thanks for backing us. That's awesome. If we already donated, can we do it again? Does it count toward the goal only if you use a separate email address? Obviously, if you want to increase your pledge, we always appreciate that, but it only counts as a separate backer if we if you use a different email address.
Okie dokie, so here's how we're going to do this. I'm going to put your horoscopes up on the screen.
And what I'm going to highlight here are the pairings of the houses for pairings of signs. So we're going to read Aries libre, Taurus, Scorpio Gemini sag, because when you have an oppositional tension across two houses, almost always the tension is nearly the same for a horoscope. Anyway, for the general purpose of a horoscope, regardless of how you flip the two houses, the tensions are identical. In other words, so now obviously there could be some small distinction between Pluto in the 11th or Pluto in the fifth, Jupiter in the fifth or Jupiter in the 11th. But what I'm working with now are the inherent tensions between these two houses that are brought up in any kind of opposition, that are also going to be general enough to meet most of the audience where they're at with this. So that's how we're doing it today. Also, admittedly, because I'm starting to run on fumes. I need it. I need a little holiday. Tomorrow will be a day off, so and get some rest anyway. All right, so if you're Aries or Libra, right, this is for Aries or Libra, Aries sun, Libra sun. Aries rising, Libra rising. Because notice that if we put Libra on the ascendant. We're going to see the same two houses highlighted. So consider this horoscope for Aries or Libras, and the house access is going to be the fifth in the 11th now, when we talk about this house access from the standpoint of the Indian purusharthas, there are two areas of life that come into direct philosophical dialog with one another, and it can be such an easy way of getting down to the roots of what's going on with an opposition. The Fifth house is a Dharma house. The 11th house is a comma house. So if you're an Aries or a Libra, the tension is between Dharma and comma. Dharma has to do with what is essential and authentic, what makes something exactly what it is. For example, a fire can't be fire without being hot and light. You can't be you in the fifth house without having a certain creative essence to the way that you make choices and create with your own agency. And in the world, the 11th house is common. It has to do with socially recognized and conditioned forms of happiness, joy and pleasure that's tied to social recognition, fame, popularity, success. You know, wealth, socioeconomic status was all originally associated with the 11th house. So with Jupiter opposite Pluto across the fifth and the 11th, the tension between Dharma and comma will show up through creativity, pleasure and social belonging, Jupiter will expand things like self expression, romance, artistic risk taking, play and the desire to live from the heart, there may be, therefore a renewed sense that your creativity matters, or that your joy is tied to a deeper calling. Pluto will intensify, friendships, communities, social movements and collective goals in Aquarius. And so the natural tension is between the pressure to align your creative output with group expectations, audiences or causes and questions of visibility, relevance and approval can become quite charged, and this would be the case whether it was five and 11 or 11 and five. This access, in other words, is asking whether your joy, your creative fulfillment, is being offered freely or extracted in some way or conditioned by collectives. Jupiter wants devotion to the heart's calling. Pluto will ask how power operates in groups that you belong to, and whether belonging comes with various hidden costs or transactions. So you could say the work for both Aries and Leo, or excuse me, both Aries and Libra, is to find communities that genuinely support your creative Dharma and offering your gifts without turning them into currency for social validation, true contribution arises when joy, service, collective alignment reinforce one another, and this is going to be nearly the same, whether you're Aries or Libra rising, those forces will be in dialog you all right, let's move to, let's move to Taurus and Scorpio. So if you're a Taurus or a Scorpio, this is going to show up across the fourth and 10th house axis. I'm the fourth house is a Moksha house. The 10th house is an art to house. So 10th house has to do with power, influence, vocation, visibility, authority. In. The world, very visible, public place. The fourth has to do with release from the world and the inner life, the inner sanctuary, where we receive rest and relaxation in a daily sense, and also rootedness, groundedness, and release from the cares or concerns of the world. With Jupiter opposite Pluto across these two houses, the tension between Moksha and artha is going to be felt between private and public life. Jupiter can emphasize the need for emotional nourishment, family connection, inner healing, a sense of home, both literally and psychologically, there can be a desire to simplify, to root, to find peace beneath the surface of life, either Jupiter or Pluto may make those things powerful when they're in the fourth, Pluto or Jupiter in the 10th would intensify career matters, authority figures, professional pressure, long term ambitions, you may feel called to take on greater responsibility, step into leadership, confront power dynamics in the workplace or within institutions or even professional hierarchies. I think this transit asks whether your pursuit of success is serving inner freedom, inner warmth and inner happiness, or undermining it. It also asks whether retreat, rest or withdrawal, are genuine paths to liberation, or it asks something like, Is your home a safe, happy, healthy place of rest and recovery? Growth comes from aligning outer and inner here, outer achievement, inner coherence, outer success, inner release, rest and happiness. You don't want to build a world that costs you your soul, and you don't want to pay so much attention to your soul that you don't take risks and put yourself out there. Jupiter will expand the vision of a meaningful life. Pluto will insist that the structure is supporting it. Be honest and sustainable. So this would be the case between artha and moksha, whether you're a Taurus rising or a Scorpio rising. That access tension pressures around that access that I just described will be present. Oops. All right, we've now got Gemini and Sagittarius. Gemini and Sagittarius will highlight the third and ninth houses. So if you're a Gemini rising or a Sagittarius rising or sun, you'll find that Jupiter opposite Pluto is taking place across the third and the ninth of the ninth and the third, that's comma, and dharma. Comma has to do with joy and happiness and pleasure, and dharma with what is real. The ninth house the Dharma has to do with what is real with a capital R. This is why it's a house of religion, spirituality, enlightenment, mysticism, but also places like universities, the courts of law. The ninth is about what is true or real, about reality itself. Now, the third is interesting because it has to do with the everyday joy or happiness that we experience in our own mind, body, emotional, psychological, temperamental realities like you want to be like an enjoyable place to hang out in your own head. But you also don't want the development of your own ego, your own intellect, your communication skills or abilities, the joy of your own ego to be at odds with higher truth. I it.
So with Jupiter and Pluto activating these two houses, the tension between comma and Dharma will show up through things like learning, communication, belief systems, Jupiter will love to expand the search for meaning through education, teaching, spiritual study, travel, philosophical inquiry, or you may feel compelled to articulate what you believe to stand for a truth, to orient your life around a larger moral or spiritual vision. And Pluto will intensify the mind, and it will intensify the space of learning or paradigmatic or ideological changes by putting you in touch with ideas that are bigger than yourself or that are circulating or constellating collectively. So this access will ask you whether the evolution of what you're learning, the evolution and development of your own psychology, mind, ego and skills, how you express yourself in the world creatively are aligning with an evolving sense of what is real or true, or what ideological or paradigmatic changes are most relevant to you right now. Mm.
All right. Cancer, Capricorn. Capricorn cancer. This is taking place across the second and eighth house axis. This is arta in the second house, materials, security, wealth, acquisition, resources, money, what sustains and helps your life, materially, what you can enjoy materially that you possess or own or buy, income and expenditures. And the eighth house is moksha, which has to do with the liberation from entanglements and the kinds of soul contracts that we have, debts that we have, at its best, the eighth house is about cooperative, reciprocal relationships that help liberate us from bad karma. If you have a good spiritual friend, a teacher, a coach, that you become bonded with and that helps facilitate your growth as a spirit, soul. That's a great eighth house relationship. If you earn, if you are given an inheritance, and it helps you be free to start a life path that is more in line with yourself. What a gift, what a blessing. So it's a place of blessings and curses the eighth a lot of it has to do with entanglements and karmic exchanges. So we take those things into consideration. The Moksha house, liberation from entanglement alongside of the Arthur house, material, stability, wealth, resources, it's going to this tension will play out whether you're cancer or Capricorn, around finances, resources, emotional or karmic entanglements with other people, and the liberation of those entanglements, as well as things that maybe come to you as a matter of karmic debts or debts that have to be cleared. Jupiter can also expand income, possessions, resources. There can be a lot of opportunities with this dynamic opposition for financial growth or better material stability or self reliance, but Pluto will intensify the need to clear debts or to change something that's not healthy around money or finances or karmic exchanges with others. Situations involving money or intimacy may force you to confront fear of loss control issues or the limits of what you can have or hold or possess. I think the spiritual tension is between building a life that feels safe and learning when safety becomes an unhealthy entanglement or attachment. Jupiter might want you to grow your resources. Pluto might want you to face what cannot be owned or possessed or controlled. So it's a powerful transit for both cancers and Capricorns, for redefining wealth and stability and knowing who and what to rely or depend on and not to
All right, let's go to Leo and Aquarius. So whether you're a Leo rising or an Aquarius rising, you'll have this across your first and seventh houses. These are the Dharma. This is the Dharma comma access Dharma, what is true and real, in this case, about me and who I am, my fundamental character, identity, body, ego, in this lifetime, the seventh house, comma is about bliss, intimacy, desire, connection with other people, that is, that provides happiness. So with these two planets, opposite across these houses, the tension between Dharma and comma will show up personally and relationally. Jupiter, for example, might expand your sense of identity, vitality, health, purpose, confidence, you may feel called to live more honestly in your body, to take up more space, to be more assertive, to do something that feels more morally or spiritually aligned, to gain greater confidence in who you are, in a clearer sense of what you're becoming. But Pluto can also intensify the same things through purgation or purification or a death and rebirth scenario at the exact same time. Jupiter or Pluto can place emphasis on the realm of relationships, marriage, sex, long term partnerships, clients, close collaborators, even rivals, to a certain extent. But encounters with others, those most interpersonal exchanges, are charged. They're powerful, they're life giving, or they are transformative. Jupiter can expand the role that other people play in your life, bringing blessings, abundance and greater confidence. Don't be surprised if you meet a very Jupiter and Leo like person, if you're an Aquarius, for example. But on the other hand, you may have direct exchange like direct what am I saying? Power power struggles. Sorry, lost my words. You may have direct and very intense power struggles with other people, with these two planets, across these two houses, looking at desire, attachment, power dynamic. AmEx, how much of yourself should you compromise or not for the sake of harmony or approval? In asserting your individuality could also threaten relational stability, and so some degree of compromise might be necessary. I think overall, what we're saying is that the first house is about the life you're here to live, and the question is, can it coexist with the happiness that you're here to experience with others? How does it coexist? How can it what is the intimacy that supports your dharma and what is the attachment that quietly erodes it? How can relationship be not self betrayal, but self commitment. These are the kinds of tensions that I would look for this next summer. Remember, this is all July of 26 for our Leo and aquariuses. All right, last but not least, we've got Virgo and Pisces, which takes us into the sixth and 12th house. Pretty difficult space, but also highly transformative. So artha is the sixth house. Moksha is the 12th arta is another material world house, things like money, work, acquisitions, resources, assets and
in it is the chop wood, carry Waterhouse. The 12th is moksha, which has to do with liberation from suffering, often through a kind of spiritual surrender, overwhelm, getting in touch with unconscious material, which can come in many forms, our own undoing, or the people or things, things in our environment that undo us. So Virgos and Pisces have a tension between ARCHA, artha and Moksha that will be felt through work, health, spiritual surrender. Jupiter can, in the sixth expand duties, projects, routines, or the desire to improve yourself and be useful. It's a place of service and sacrifice. The sixth is this can be a period of time where growth, through effort, skill, building meaningful service and some sense of serving a higher purpose or good, could become very powerful. There's a very kind of humanitarian, charitable, saintly quality to this opposition for Virgos and Pisces, but Pluto may also intensify the need for rest, solitude, healing, confrontation with unconscious patterns, burnout, fatigue, old psychological material may resurface, revealing where some form of work or ongoing service or sacrifice has become a form of bondage overall. When you look at this house access, you're usually asking about whether you're reducing suffering in yourself or the world or perpetuating it, and you have to take a very deep look at the reality of suffering, and also make peace with the fact that things that you care about, spiritual things, psychological things, material, worldly things, will always involve some degree of burning, work, exhaustion, service, sacrifice. So some is normal, too much is problematic, and we have to figure out what gives our life sacrificial meaning and purpose that isn't draining or depleting, or how to work, how to deal with challenges and adversity when they hit, how to do that meaningful work, that very humble work of purifying ourselves from unconscious material. That's a 6/12 house dynamic for sure. So these are the things to watch for, for Virgos and Pisces, because you'll have them across that art to Moksha house access. All right. There we go. We did it another day, another live stream coming down to the end of the year. Let's check in on the Kickstarter, see how we're doing, and then I'll open up for any Q, a,
okay, so I think we've had about 15 backers during this hour and a half long time. Thank you guys. Really appreciate that, and we have to get to not let's see how. I'll give you the exact math here, 2043 minus 1118 we still need 925 backers in eight days. So thank you to everyone. So much, seriously, so many. Of you have given generously. There's a lot of you who are going to come study with us in the new year. I'm super excited for that. There are a lot of you who picked up class passes to continue your studies with us. There's a lot of you who are really going to enjoy awesome rewards that we have available. So go check all of that out, and thank you again for supporting us. We really appreciate it. One thing to ask yourself, if you're thinking on the fence of donating, you know, I know it's a the holidays, and everything's really busy, whether it's between now or anytime up leading up to New Year's Eve, you're thinking of donating. Know that you're not charged until January 1. So whatever you pledge, your card isn't going to be charged until January 1. And then ask yourself just I think, two or three guiding questions, do I listen to this show somewhat regularly, a couple times a month, every day of the week, several times during the year, and when I listen, do I get something of astrological value? Do I learn something new about astrology? Do I get a valuable forecast or insight from my life that has really genuinely helped and then do I find this place to be a reliable place of spiritual focused astrology? If you find this to be a place that is spiritually focused that you know you can trust to be about the spiritual path of astrology, then please consider supporting us. There's a lot of dedication and work that goes into making all of this possible, and we succeed because we have amazing patrons. So thank you. Okay, now I'll open up for Q and A tomorrow. There'll be regularly scheduled content. Friday, I'll be doing a live stream looking at the eclipses that are coming. Those eclipses are also going to be in Leo and Aquarius, but we're going to explore the eclipses of 2026 and the story of the nodes of the Moon from both evolutionary and traditional perspectives, and we'll do some horoscopes. Sunday, I'll have a live birth chart reading and Q and A session. Monday, I'll have one last live stream looking at Uranus and Pluto trining one another. And then Tuesday and Wednesday next week, leading up to New Year's Eve, we've got a lot of focus content on the Saturn Neptune dynamic in Aries. Find the link to the Kickstarter in the comment section, pinned to the top or in the description of the video. Okay.
WT, WTF is going on? This is our first question of the day. I don't know. I'm at a loss. I'm completely confused about the same question, what happened to roots and spheres? I can't find it on your website anymore, so roots and spheres attendance fell off pretty dramatically from year two to year three. So we decided to replace it with the guild. There's just more people that were interested in astrological offerings than the pairing of planets and plants. So we'll miss roots and spears for sure, but the guild is very excited for that new, you know, kind of practice based meetup that will be taking place in the new year. What are the questions you guys have? Feel free to put them into the comment section, and we can do a little Q and A before we close for the day,
you're a first year student. Okay, great. Let's see here. I'm
right guys, give me just a second.
That's that's a Taylor guitar. I had a Martin, but I gave it to a cousin of mine who I got this guitar, and then I gave him my Martin, because he's a talented musician, but can't, you know, like, necessarily, he's in graduate school. You can't necessarily afford a nicer guitar, but he needs one, because he's very good. So I just gave him mine.
Do you use coins or Yarrow stocks? Stocks to do? The E Ching so coins, unless I if there's something really serious that's on my mind, I'll sit down and do Yarrow stock divination, because it's just the process of casting the Yarrow stocks. It takes like, 20 minutes or so, you know, just, it's beautiful, and often really focuses the reading in a way that some it's really special. So if I had time to do it that way all the time, I would,
well, you know, I like questions like this. What would you say the purpose of astrology is? Yeah, good question.
Well, when I look at the way that Indian astrologers answered that question as well as ancient Western astrologers, it really has to do with being an aide in the process of the the soul's illumination. Let's, I don't mean to make it sound so grandiose, but I think most people that practiced ancient astrology that certainly the progenitors believed that the soul was a part of a matrix of being, and that its consciousness was capable of experiencing reality in different ways depending on how the consciousness was directed and oriented. Enlightenment is talked about as a way of experiencing a state of unceasing peace and release from suffering and all of the all of this kind of sorrows of life that keep us chained perpetually to like a wheel, like cycles. So astrology was ideally meant to help the soul become aware of the entanglements and the karma, so that it has to, we have to live those experiences, but we can maintain a higher perspective and keep our consciousness in a process of awakening, because the awareness of the karmic world we're experiencing is is being given to us by the astrology. So that's that's how I see the purpose of it. But there's many purposes too there. You know, I think that's sort of like the big purpose, but there are as many purposes as you know, as times that we approach the Oracle too. I think every time you get a chance to sit down and talk with the Oracle, through a chart, through a reading, through the I Ching or the Tao, you're creating a meaningful experience in exchange with, you know, with the cosmos and with yourself. And that's those are all purposes too, you know, when will we get some merch? Yeah, that's, I've thought about that, excuse me before, but I'm not sure. Maybe, maybe we'll do it. Do you think astrology and I Ching app is a viable answer that questions, as well as a way to do readings as opposed Yeah, sure, I don't know about astrology apps, but the I Ching at least, is something you just if it's just casting it for you. I Ching online.net, is a good one. I started the beginners program last year, but fell off because life and project paycheck. I'm excited to resume my studies. Great, awesome, actual plug in the wall. Nightlights with your logo would be too cute. That's fun. Kind of astrologers? Do you think the Magi were? Weren't they called Dean astrologers? Sounds like the right answer. I can't remember. I know. I think there is an answer to that, though, but they were astral Omen readers, that's for sure. My question is, will you do any more musical deep dives? Yeah, the only problem is that we've tried to do a few and there's copyright issues that make the video hung up in purgatory for like months, until you get the approval. And God, it's just like if I make a video for Sunday and then I show a bit of a music video clip, and it gets hung up in YouTube purgatory because of copyright claims for two months before they go, oh yeah, you can. You're just doing a review. You can use it. Then I end up having to make more content, you know, and then I don't know when I can actually use it, and so it's just been a bit of a pain in the ass, to be honest with you. Mm. Hmm, but I hope to do more. Yeah, it's really fun. Maybe there's a way of doing it too that doesn't have to utilize the music videos. I'd love to see readings offered by your expert astrologers in the Kickstarters. Yeah, that would be awesome. I don't want to, I don't want to. I don't want to ask my staff to do free readings, right? Because the Kickstarter is the funds from the Kickstarter, I wouldn't feel to pay them, you know, and the Kickstarter rewards are all designed to go into our budget for the year ahead. So paying out Kickstarter reward, the finances from the Kickstarter to a staff of people would not be that wouldn't be great for our budgetary goals, if you see what I'm saying. However, all of our staff are available on affordable reading scales on the website. So they're very affordable. You can, you can find those readings on the website from our staff, and they're already super affordable, and tiered pricing is available. So, yeah,
yes, I do think an I Ching app is fine. Yeah, coins, if you can. But how would you compare the vibe of 25 to the vibe of 26 I
don't think years have vibes. I don't know one simple way of putting it. Might be 25 there was a lot of transitional spaces, of outer planets, shifting signs and then moving back 2026 we're sort of squarely stepping into that next chapter. It's not a threshold year. It's like a chapter one year. If 25 was like the introduction before a novel or the preface, 26 is chapter one. That's how I would put it.
Why did you choose the name Nightlight astrology for your school? Well, if you read my new book that will be coming out in the spring, called the Oracle speaks, you'll you'll find out why I named it Nightlight. It's there in the book. So that's gonna, I'm gonna I'm gonna give you that as a teaser. You have to check out my new book in the spring, and then you'll, you'll hear the whole story. Okay, I think you'll enjoy it. I donated last year with multiple email accounts. Did the same thing this year. Oh, thank you. That is so nice. Really appreciate you. If Jupiter expands, what it touches. What is Jupiter in Aries in relation to war? Well, it doesn't expand what it touches. That's that's a common misunderstanding. It tends to it tends to bring up questions of meaning, coherence. Morality. If you think of Jupiter like the sage, it's less like Jupiter in Aries is less like, let's expand war, and it's more like, let's have a deep conversation philosophically through unfolding of events about the nature of conflict. So expanding upon something more like a sage giving a talk than some kind of energetic expansion, I would say, Hi,
Adam, how do you describe the role of the astrologer in a reading? Great question. In my view, the astrologer plays a Hermes like role, which means translator, interpreter, interlocutor, maybe something of a psychopomp, though it's not really us. Psychopomp meaning like a guide. But as soon as you start thinking of yourself, I'm a diviner, I'm an interpreter, I'm an astrologer, you know, I'm an interlocutor, I'm a guide. Just stay away from all of those labels. It's better to think I don't know what I do. I just hope I help people than it is to give yourself a lot of labels, because those labels become problems you have to deal with later if you get attached to them. So. But I would say that the role is like interpreter, you know, and conversationalist. We're like, let me help you have a conversation with the symbols that are present in your life right now. That's a good way of putting it Adam.
What should we do if some astrologers make definitive statements or events about our life and funny how we wish it is not true of negative and hope it comes true of positive Well, you know, my honest to god advice, if you don't work with those astrologers, you know, find an astrologer who makes archetypal statements about meaning, and by that, that usually means that they're going to present possible fields of symbolic meaning with a variety of outcomes that you can discuss, but that helps you move into a field of participation. There may be a predictive element to that kind of work, but definitive, no that to me, that would mean you're with the wrong astrologer. Because that's to me, that's like, unethical. Mm,
and Tao also be useful in reading astrology. Sure Be careful not to mix mediums unless you're very competent and fluid between them. I would, for example, I would say, develop competency in astrology, sort of compartmentalize it, do the same thing with Tao, and then gradually let the two converse in the way you do readings, as opposed to trying to fit them together when you're learning both of them at the same time, which can actually confuse things. But that's me. That's how I do it. You know, that's how, that's how I did it. I should say, because I I'm not like a big Tao expert, but I'll occasionally throw cards. Sometimes people ask me to as well, oh, buy your book and find out. Thank you. We're, I'm finishing two more rounds of editing on my own, then it goes off to an editing team and then, and we're, then we'll work on the cover and as it's slowly coming together, but I started my own imprint called Sky House Press, so there's the potential will exist that we can also eventually use the platform, as it grows, to help other astrology authors from within the Nightlight world to write and have a platform to to show their their work through so very exciting about about that?
What is the best sandwich? A reality sandwich, of course, I I'm a, I'm a, Oh, I love avocado toast. I don't know if that counts as a sandwich, but
Cassandra, hey, listening to Adam's book as the unedited chapters were released was a very special experience. Looking forward to reading the end result and listening to the new one. Thank you. I It's funny, Cassandra, you're gonna see like when you see the new one, you know, it's, it's so much better. You know, when it once it's been edited, it's like, so it's funny because I, I thought long and hard about whether or not or not I wanted to give anyone advanced access to the basically first rough draft of the book. But it was really worthwhile. It was really fun to be sharing it as like it comes off the page, off my fingers and directly to you guys each chapter. It was really exhilarating and but I can't wait to share the finished result.
I know you like Liz green purchase Saturn. What else would you recommend? Oh, thank you. That's really nice. Astrology of fate and relating. Are two great books by her. Is your puppy male or female? Are you so totally surrounded by female forces? Yeah, dude, I two daughters. My wife, Hilda, who's like, the queen of the house. I'm drowning in estrogen. I'm just kidding. Uh, Thor is a, is a male. So he's, he's, he's a little, you know, he's a, he's, like, such a gym bro dog too. He's just like, very dense but very lovable and sweet. That was mean. Anyway. Okay,
how do you describe as above so below, just someone not familiar with the concept. Used. Dreams as above, so below could be as below. So above. Tell them something like, you know, when you go into the dream world every night, they say, yes. You say, imagine that that's like a world below life, like it's like an underworld that you're going into. And when you come back to sleep, you're in the upper world, and the things you see in the dream world become like very interesting symbolic representations of the things happening in your waking world in the above world. So you can use dreams, and you can say, That's what astrology is like. It's saying that there's patterns in the sky that can be read symbolically, like dream images that have the ability to mirror or reflect what's happening in your life, so that they're they're like dreams moving in the sky. Yeah.
I just purchased benefel Wen's book, holy moly. What should I do to understand? Yeah, well, I Ching is not an easy thing to break into, you know, like just she's gonna come on the channel hopefully in January. So hopefully we'll get her on and we'll have a conversation. But, you know, I recommend she has an audible version of the book that you can listen to on headphones. But otherwise cast the I Ching, go to I Ching online.net, cast the I Ching there. And there's a reading that comes out, and the Wilhelm interpretation is there. That'd be a very easy way to get started. And then you can use the benefel Wen book to and go to the hexagram sections of the reading on I Ching online.net, and, you know, kind of expand upon them from there. That might be an idea.
My orange roses are blooming right now on Christmas Eve. How do you feel about that as a symbol? It's making me feel a lot. I wanted to share with the class. It's beautiful. Yeah, it's a really interesting. I mean, when I think of the orange, orange, I think of the sun, obviously, and I think of life and like vitamin C, and I think of fire. You could go into direction of the chakras if you wanted to. But what I would, I would invite you to do is to maybe spend time journaling or drawing or painting or do a collage or make something out of the symbol. Because when you take the symbol and you interact with it creatively, that's when you are inviting the symbol to keep speaking. See, we think I have to interpret a symbol when it appears, which is really to say, I have to kill it. I have to dissect it like a creature on a operating table. But what we need to do when a symbol appears is, you know, talk to it. And we can talk to it in a lot of different ways, but talk to it and then see what it says. You
you be doing any more grabbed episodes in the future? Yeah, yeah, for sure, series is hard, because while I love that series, it's one of the most least watched of all of the episodes that I've ever done, which I find, you know, deeply depressing, makes me very cynical, and then I hate all of you and humanity. No, I'm just kidding. And then I don't want to do them anymore, but they are like, they're probably some of my favorite episodes, you know. So I'll get back to it. Yeah, we'll probably, we'll do some in the new year. I gotta add, I got an episode or two for the how Ayahuasca taught me astrology series that I want to add to. Got some moon in profile. You know, we got to catch up with so. And I am just teasing, by the way. I love all of you guys. Okay, well, um, it's not Gary Goldschneider, it's Gary Snyder. So here, let me just show you. I don't know who you're talking about, but I I'm sure they were also amazing.
If you want to read a really good
this is like just an example, and I'm. Here.
This is Gary Snyder. This is a collection of presents poems called this present moment. He's like an eco he's like a ecological Buddhist poet. He's He's great.
All right, I'm gonna close the shop for the day, guys, it has been really nice hanging out with you. I'm glad to be here. Let us take a last look at the Kickstarter campaign. We have about seven days left to go and just over 900 backers that we still need. Find the link there in the comment section. If you haven't donated yet, please consider pitching in helping us sustain this community in the new year. Much love to all of you guys. We will see you again tomorrow. I hope you have a merry Merry Christmas if you're celebrating. And I'll be back for live stream on Friday at 10am looking at eclipses. So we're going to take a look at all of the eclipses for 2026 which are also taking place in Leo and Aquarius. We're going to look at the evolutionary direction of the nodes and the traditional meaning of the nodes in the sign and these signs. I think that'll be fun. All right. Have a good one, everybody. Bye.
