What happens when the astrology of the collective mirrors the most personal questions of your own soul? In July 2026, Jupiter and Pluto stand opposed across the Leo-Aquarius axis—a configuration that last appeared during the French Revolution and again during the Korean War. These are moments when power structures fracture, ideologies clash, and something new tries to be born. But here’s what matters most: the same forces reshaping the world are also asking something of you.

This video traces the archetypal patterns of this historic opposition, not to predict events, but to prepare your heart, mind, and soul for what’s asking to shift within. Whether it’s a regime change in your own internal family systems, a new leader rising within, or a deeper commitment to the principles that actually guide your life, the astrology of this summer invites you to consider: what constitution do you live by?
A constitution isn’t just a document. It’s a personal code—a set of truths, assumptions, and convictions that quietly lead your life. When Pluto and Jupiter oppose one another, that code can be rewritten. Not by force, but by clarity.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we're going to take a look at what I think is the biggest transit remaining in 2026 and that is the opposition between Jupiter and Pluto that's taking place this July.
What I'd like to do today is look at several other historical moments in which Jupiter and Pluto have opposed one another in these signs. For example, if we go back to the year 1789 and 1790 when Pluto was last in Aquarius and Jupiter in Leo opposed, there are some really significant events that emerged around that timeline.
In 1950 when Pluto was in Leo and Jupiter was in Aquarius in the opposite signs, there was also some really significant events, and here we have those two planets coming back into an opposition that I think is fairly epic given the symbolism of these two signs of Pluto and Aquarius.
Now today is going to be one of those rare dips I take into the waters of mundane astrology, but I'm doing so for a specific reason.
One, as you know, although my focus on the channel tends to be more personal, psychological and spiritual. I do think that in years where there are massive outer planetary history shaping transits taking place, that a little bit of insight in drawing, drawing some archetypal insight, at the very least, and psychological insight from the transits and how they may play out collectively, is important.
Many of us are going to process these events this year, some more personally than others, you know. And so the idea here is to meaningfully delve into the history of these transits, their archetypal patterns, and preview what we're likely to see this summer and what I think is going to be the second biggest astrology of the year, at least.
Collectively, to me, this can prepare us, heart, mind and soul for the personal level of those events as well. And I'll say more about that as we go, for sure.
So anyway, before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe, share your comments, your reflections, your insights, your transcripts of any of these daily talks can be found on the website that is Nightlight astrology.com.
A couple of brief promotions today, as always, daily meditation at Nightlight. If you want to come and sit with us, we have community quiet seven days a week. Go to the events page, click on community quiet for the schedule, the Zoom link to join. It's free, so just an easy way to sit in quiet.
And let me tell you, in a year like this, where there's so much happening, collectively, we're empathic beings. You know, we feel and sense the trauma and turmoil in the world, and learning to carry that sensitively. You know, without dissociating, without completely losing ourselves to fanaticism or reactionary thinking or just anger. How can we process those things so they can become allies for the right action that our soul is called to in important times? I think that quiet is helpful for that. So I hope you come check it out.
Just a simple way of giving something back to all of you in this community. You can check out the monthly webinars for upcoming talk in April. And also I want to emphasize, we do have, as a time I'm making this, we have one or two need based tuition spots available on our annual retreat to Mexico in June.
So if you'd like to join us for that, we do have something like a scholarship available for just a couple more people who want to enroll. So reach out to us. Email us info at Nightlight astrology.com, if that's interesting to you, it's not a full scholarship because we still have to pay lodging and food and so, but it's a good discount, and hopefully that'll maybe, maybe make it available for someone who otherwise couldn't afford to attend.
As always, I am right now, I'm promoting the chapso, my new software program that I'm using, and I've had the guys on, they'll be coming out again in April to do a demo for people who are just, maybe just getting to know this astrology software program. Maybe you've never used one before, but it is an incredible program. I'm very, very proud to be working with these guys. And it's my first, first affiliate I've ever done.
If you want to sign up for the new software program, the affiliate link and password for 20% off, which recurs every month of your subscription, as long as you're subscribed. That's available in the comment pinned to the top of the comment section or in the description of this video.
Anyway, here's the chat. So showing us, you know, if we take this back, this is showing us Wednesday, September 2, 1789 that's a long that's a long time ago. Anyway, between 1789 and 1790 we had Jupiter and Pluto across the Leo Aquarius axis.
We had Pluto in Aquarius, and we had Jupiter in the sign of Leo, and that went on and off between 1789 and 1790 the two planets being configured to one another.
The second time that we saw this configuration, you can see how slowly Pluto moves, by the way, if you take it around the wheel like this, it's it's really impressive. Let's try. Drag it along. You can drag the timeline along, which I love. So here we go. We're in. Where am I? Okay, oops, I messed this up. Sorry, guys.
We get it up to now, and I'll just, you can just take my word for it, rather than because I'm still getting to know the timeline feature, which is really cool. You can drag it through time, but I'm still getting my proficiency down, because I've only been using this full time for like, a month now.
So, so just for the sake of not like dilly dallying, actually, you know what I can do here? Ha, I figured it out. I paused the recording like a genius, and I took two seconds to remind myself of how to drag the timeline. So, gosh, you think by this point I would know I can just pause my recording.
But anyway, Jupiter in Aquarius opposite Pluto in Leo. This is 1950 This was the second time that the two planets were configured, but now Pluto's in Leo, not Aquarius.
And now, of course, we have 2026 and if we take this forward to this summer, we're going to go to July. It's in July that you can see that the two planets are opposing one another. This opposition is historic. It's historic in terms of the magnitude of things that tend to happen around this particular transit so I want to talk about those next.
Now I'm not going to tell you what direction I think history ought to take or what I think should happen, and I'm not going to cast people into groups, and I'm really going to try to present this without being divisive, because I just don't think any of that's positive. I just don't think that's right.
So anyway, so if we think about these planets symbolically in mundane terms, and then we're going to kind of extrapolate from this to some personal themes in a minute here we think of collective movements versus centralized power. Collective movements being very Pluto and Aquarius, centralized power being very Jupiter in Leo.
Ideological polarization is common during these transits, and it already is right, but that's that's part of Pluto and Aquarius in general, and part of everything that's been happening really, since the Saturn Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius, for example, in 2020 anyhow, the rise of mass political movements as Pluto is in Aquarius, and challenges to Leadership, or things that resemble monarchy or centralized leaders or some kind of charismatic authority figure that can rise up as a figurehead of a collective movement. These are Jupiter and Leo opposite Pluto and Aquarius themes. There can also be global blocks or like alliances that form around competing visions of the future.
So let's go back in time to 1951 this was Pluto in Leo opposite Jupiter in Aquarius. And these are just some of the major events. Just doing some research online that I was able to find that really fit with one another, the first one being the Korean War.
Now that's when North Korea invades South Korea, which triggers this United Nations military response that was led by the US. My grandfather was a Korean War veteran. And I'm not commenting on the rightness or wrongness of any of these. I'm just reporting the news right.
So we have communism. This is the some of the collective storylines that are popping around that time in like popular awareness, it's communism versus democracy. It's an ideological expansion that's becoming more global. It's also Pluto in Leo against Jupiter in Aquarius. There's power struggles, but in the themes of power struggles and dominance? Well, there's nuclear powers in the world that are trying to assert authority, and it was really the first direct military confrontation between the Cold War power blocks. You could argue that, but I think that's a fair summary.
Not that I'm a historian, either. By the way, I'm a very like armchair historian, right? But the thing is, is that the Cold War was solidifying into a global ideological power struggle at that time, and the major dynamics of the US and Soviet Union are becoming. This is establishing them as like rival superpowers in a way that they were becoming, but it helped solidify that sort of polarization.
And then there's countries across Asia, Europe, Latin America, are forced to, like, align themselves. Which side am I on? And things like espionage and propaganda in ideological movements were intensifying around that polarization. The whole point that I'm trying to get at is the polarization, archetypally, that has to do with who has power and what structures or forms of power are the best to preside over peoples so all of that, of course, it's around that same time, in 1950 that you've heard of Senator Joseph McCarthy before, in McCarthyism, and there's this whole anti communist crusade that is gaining power that's leading to almost like a paranoid level of political repression, suppression.
There's all of this mass suspicion of Whose team are you on? And, I mean, it's, it's pretty gross, right? So there's, there's there's these ideological movements, very Aquarian. There's Plutonian purges and paranoia. There's authority figures enforcing loyalty or demanding that you pick a side. You see how all of that tracks for a lot of what's happening right now too.
Anyway, there's more but, and I, there. And this is actually one of the times where civil rights is some of the, some of the seeding points of the Civil Rights Movement are happening around this time, more anti colonialism is starting to become, it's, it's rising in our awareness that there's like a colonial shadow, right? And, and, you know, there's apartheid laws being strengthened in South Africa in 1950 so the point is that it's setting the stage for a larger mass political awakening that starts taking place in the 60s and so forth.
So again, again. This is me as an armchair historian. I fully surrender to the expertise of so many others in our field, with respect to history and astrology and in this level, Richard Tarnas being someone who's a Harvard level historian, and listen to what he's had to say about some of these things too, right? But anyway, so now all of that is just a little taste of what was happening in 1950 if you go back to 1789 and 1790 that's when we last had Pluto in Aquarius and Jupiter in Leo.
The 50 was Pluto in Leo, Jupiter in Aquarius. But 1789 and 1790 was the start of the French Revolution. So in 1789 under this transit, the French monarchy collapses into a revolutionary crisis. And there's all sorts of things that happen. The storming of the Bastille, Declaration of the Rights of Man and citizen was proclaimed. These are massive Pluto in Aquarius, opposite Jupiter in Leo.
You know, decentralizing of authority, obviously, democracy. Revolutionary masses are overthrowing systems. There's emergence also of heroic leaders, very Jupiter in Leo relative to political uprisings. So there's that's really fascinating.
For example, in 1789 George Washington becomes inaugurated as the first President of the United States. And that transforms, you know, the monarchy to a republic, or a creation of a new model of leadership, and you have this charismatic leader that's up now being identified as a part of a popular political, ideological movement.
The 1789 to 1790 also saw the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution proposed and ratified, and the themes are obviously there with civil liberties, rights of individual against centralized powers and the institutionalization of all sorts of revolutionary principles.
The point is that you can see how this is a year where there might be something like a constitutional crisis. The reason why I say that to be true is not for political purposes, but historical and archetypal purposes. Just look at the astrology.
We're in a year where there are serious concerns about, you know, how the Constitution is being used or not used any longer. There are questions about the changing of regime in Iran that I'm are, you know, as present as I'm making this, I don't know where, obviously, you'll get this. I'm making this a few weeks in advance, because my family is going on our little family vacation that we take every spring.
But like the idea being that right now, you know, there's questions about regime change in the air as I'm making this, even the French Revolution also quickly sparked a lot of mass political movements across Europe because monarchies began fearing uprising and constitutional demands and Republican movements. And this is the collective upheaval, the dismantling of old systems, and the kind of political experimentation that Pluto and Aquarius sort of demands.
And this is why astrologers have been saying, look, the Revolutionary War, the French Revolution, were Pluto in Aquarius moments? What to speak of? The civil war being a Neptune and Aries kind of situation. The idea, though, that this summer we're reaching a very powerful inflection moment for Pluto's journey in Aquarius is obvious to me, because these are, you know, the you have Pluto in Aquarius, with the opposition to Jupiter and Leo being, having the spark of the Revolutionary War, the leader of, you know, the first President of the United States, the setting of the first, you know, the, the, what was I saying? The, oh, my God, I am completely losing my mind, the first 10 amendments. Sorry, the first 10 amendments of the constitution.
So you, you just have to think that the astrologers, including myself, when I did talks on Pluto in Aquarius, Neptune in Aries, I don't think any of us are exaggerating when we say that we're in a historical, um, it's like a historical gauntlet this year. And I suspect that some of the more powerful, uh, sort of mass political social upheaval or change, or challenges to power structures and so forth. Will will probably happen around July.
The other reason for that is in July we also have Uranus trining Pluto the Uranus in Gemini. Periods historically have been quite epic for the United States. You know, you go back to World War Two with Uranus in Gemini last so I really want people to be aware on this channel, because, you know, sometimes people are like, you don't cover the mundane astrology. You're just burying your head in the sand. I'm like, it's just not my lane.
But if there are massive things happening historically, I've always covered them. I've been doing this a long time, and there's never a time where if I see something worth naming in the collective that I don't like, I'm like, hey, this transit, for example, Saturn, Pluto in 2020 or Saturn conjoined Jupiter in 2020, or the Saturn Jupiter squares that I spent a lot of time talking about the past two years.
This is a year where collective events are peaking. They're reaching a kind of fever pitch. It's an era shifting year in terms of all of the outer planets moving signs. So I want people to be aware of these connections, because when we hit July, we are at, you know, an inflection point for cycles that date back to the American Revolution, the French Revolution, modern democracy and Things like the Constitution. It shouldn't be understated, is the point that this period is going to be quite powerful.
Now for me, when it comes to the personal application, I want to say a couple of things. First is that when we approach this transit in June, in July, there's going to be a lot of coverage that I have for all of you, personally and horoscopically, where is the horoscope in your chart? Where is it landing? And how can we take some of these themes and think about what they might mean for us personally?
For example, what is a constitution when it comes to the soul? Set aside the collective dimension. A constitution is also like a like a code, a personal code that we live by, a set of truths, assumptions, philosophical convictions that guide our life.
We're talking about paradigmatic change that is going to be possible for what leads and guides our life, morally, philosophically, ideologically, all of us have choices to make on that level that are very personal, that will likely peak around this time where radical, innovative, new understandings, new information, new ways of seeing the world and seeing ourselves are likely to coincide with these historical events, asking us what will lead the way forward, what structures and paradigms are the best fits for me personally, and that may be happening dovetailing with what's going on collectively, or maybe happening quite apart from what's going on collectively.
Nonetheless, there is a whole buffet of like metaphors present in these historical examples. Buffet, I guess.
I don't know shit just comes out of my mouth. So anyway, whatever you get at the buffet from these talks, I hope that it's nutritious. Okay, sorry, bye.
Uh, regime changes what? And I've said this before on the channel, but like, what is the regime change of the heart? What are the Are we all have, like, an in, you know, internal family systems, like, you got a council of people who's on your itty bitty, shitty committee, as my wife likes to say. And like, there might be a dictator in there that needs to be outed, and maybe there's a George Washington in you that's ready to rise and take the helm of the ship.
Those changes in leadership. I remember specifically getting off the plane from the Amazon stepping foot in JFK Airport in New York City before flying back home to the Midwest. Life forever changed, hitting the soil in America for the first time. And I remember thinking, I am not going to lead the same life. Something else is leading my life now. And I let that take the wheel at that time. I really did. And now here I am looking I'm doing all sorts of weird crap now. I'm meeting at a New Age buffet filled with all of you people, all of you weird, lovable souls, all right.
Well, I'm gonna call it a day, but we will track this transit together. I just want, I want people to be aware of it now, because I've the more that I've been digging into the history of some of the big transits in July and August. The more I've been like, oh wow, yeah, these are, these are major inflection points.
So, yeah, I remember, I remember, remember the months leading up to the Saturn Pluto conjunction, and being like, oh shit. This is, this is epic. This is really big. And and then covid hit, and no one could have I don't. I heard a lot of astrologers say intelligent things that, to me, hit the mark. It's like the specifics are always surprising. Still, you know, somehow the specifics are always like, wow, there. There it is. But it's not exactly that that I was thinking of so but anyway, you know what? I can't wait to be here and go through the adventure of this year with all of you and to hopefully find relevance for our souls in it. That's the goal, right.
Hope you're having a good day. We'll see you again next time bye.
