The Deeper Wisdom of the Year’s Most Intense Astrology

Today we're going to take another look at this major sequence of astrological events taking place in the next week. That is the Jupiter Cazimi, Jupiter opposite Pluto, the Sun opposite Pluto, a full moon conjoined Pluto opposite the Jupiter Sun Cazimi. It's just a major lineup of astrological events taking place. We've been looking at this already for a while.

In fact, we started looking at this late in the winter, and now it's here. So we're going to take another look at it today. And what I'm going to bring in today is a new list of archetypal themes to watch for from an I Ching consultation that I did. I consulted the I Ching and asked for some hexagram insights about this sequence of events and the taro. In my mind, one of the coolest things that we can do as diviners is learn some of the languages of different symbolic systems, and then see how they overlap with what we know about the language that we primarily use. In this case, astrology.

So I think that you'll find that the taro and I Ching readings that I did bring some really nice sort of supplemental takes on this sequence of events. So that's what we're going to do today. I hope you'll enjoy it. I was really blown away by these readings. I think that there's a lot of insight here. And if you are someone who is a student of astrology, I think this will also be really educational when it comes to understanding some of the themes of the planets at a deeper level.

Anyway, so here is this sequence of events once again on the screen before you. You can see that the sun has entered Leo.

We talked about combustion yesterday. The sun is going to oppose Pluto. We're seeing that the sun and Jupiter will have a Cazimi reset coming up while opposing Pluto. That is huge. And then we're also going to find that if we take this forward just a couple more days, we're going to see that the full moon comes through on the 29th while the sun is while Jupiter's Cazimi and the moon is just conjointing Pluto. So that sequence of events is epic.

Not to mention it ushers us into the next moon cycle, which is an eclipse. So we are moving through an extraordinarily powerful time of the year, and this little lineup of planetary oppositions is, I think, probably the biggest astrology of 2026. You know, you could look at the Saturn Neptune conjunction, some other big transits that we had at different times that were also very powerful, but I think this month of July has been one of the busiest, most dynamic months of the year. Okay, well, what I want to do for you now is I want to share with you the I Ching reading that I did, and let me tell you a little bit about the I Ching and my background with it, and then the taro as well. And hopefully give you some insights that will be truly useful.

First of all, the I Ching is the oldest of Chinese classics, is the way I understand it, and what that means is a very ancient wisdom text, and it is the text upon which we have philosophical offshoots like Confucianism, Taoism. They're sort of born out of this wisdom text and tradition, and the I Ching eventually becomes used a bit. I like to say it's like a bit like bibliomancy. It eventually becomes used as a sacred text that can be turned to as an oracle, and the I Ching is comprised of 64 different hexagrams that are six-lined figures that are combinations of yin and yang lines.

Those combinations of yin and yang lines describe different facets of the movement of and the interaction of yin and yang in creation. You might say that's just my shorthand, I guess, for how to understand it. I actually had a great interview on the channel not too long ago with the author of the translation I'm using today. This is called I Ching the Oracle by Benibel Wen, and I actually did an interview with her on the channel. You could search and find that. Anyway, I'll put that. Maybe we'll put that in the description of the video.

So, when you are consulting the I Ching, you're asking it to gain archetypal insight into the specific pattern of yin and yang that is present, and within all patterns contain wisdom and teachings and outcomes and advice. Patterns contain the trajectory of events in time and space, and so patterns are ways in astrology, in taro, in the I Ching that we read the potential outcomes. You can use patterns, in other words, to predict. But patterns can also be instructive. They can be filled with guidance. They can be issuing a warning. They can be like a piece of conversation than just an outcome or a prediction. And they can do all of those different things, which is what makes the language of divinatory language patterns or patterns of divinatory language so fascinating.

What we want to do today is talk about. I did an I Ching reading, and I asked it. I asked the I Ching, what are some of the patterns for all of us right now, inherent in these movements that we just outlined, all of these major oppositions-the Cazimi, the full moon, the sun opposite Jupiter, Pluto opposite Jupiter, etc. What can we learn? How can we grow? What is the essence of what is here for us right now? And I often do this, and sometimes, if you guys have been watching my channel for a long time, you know that occasionally I include this in the way that I present.

But often, what you don't know is that when I'm writing my talks for the day, I will often consult the I Ching as a way of helping me get into the archetypes that are at play and maybe see them from an angle that I'm not thinking of, and so the I Ching has been quietly a part of my preparation for giving talks. I mean, it's funny because the I Ching is not sort of forward facing in my work very much, but it is very much present almost every single day in my life. I work with and consult the I Ching and have been doing so now for 18 years, so anyway, let's get into it.

I want to tell you about this I Ching sequence. Oh, the other thing, sorry, the other thing is that the taro spread. I did a three card taro spread as well, and then I sort of put these two together and wrote down my notes. So that's what you're getting from me today. Okay, so we'll start with the I Ching hexagram. There was a often when you cast the I Ching, you'll get a first hexagram transforming into a second hexagram, and those two hexagrams and their teachings can be used like a kind of juxtaposition. So we started. I asked the I Ching, what is there for us to know or understand that could be applicable for everyone in the audience, right?

So I ask it that question, not so much for me personally, but like, what is there for all of us to take away from this? The first hexagram that I cast was hexagram 17, and I'll actually just make. Why don't I just make a little banner? So we'll put that up, hexagram 17. So I'm going to read you Benibel Wen's translation of hexagram 17 and her commentary on it, and I'm going to comment myself on the commentary. So, hexagram 17 is, I think, it's really as soon as I got it because I know the hexagrams very well at this point.

Well, I mean, always learning more, but I'm pretty familiar with them at this point. This hexagram, Benibel Wen translates as "inspiring followers." Here's what she says: Hexagram 17: Inspiring followers. To learn how to lead, you must first learn how to serve. A follower becomes the leader. To learn how to serve is to secure voluntary assent from followers. If you obtain your followers through force or cunning, by conspiracy or division, your leadership will be short-lived. There will be movements of resistance against you. Force them, and they will resist. Serve them, and they will serve you. Reward loyalty with generosity. Trust in your own excellence.

And yet, for there to be sincere trust, you must fully embody and demonstrate that excellence. So, first of all, how appropriate is that for the Sun Jupiter in Leo? Really, at the heart of this, in opposition to Pluto, a full moon in Aquarius. If this hexagram is about anything, it is about what is the right way to be an influencer, to be of real lasting influence. What does that mean, and how does that happen when it comes to the way, the way of love, the way of compassion, the way of the Buddha, the way of the realized saints. What does it mean to lead and to develop a following, a healthy following because you're a genuine person to follow, you know, or another way of putting it is, what does it mean to follow something that is genuinely worthy of being followed? I think these first of all just doesn't that sound like we're in the realm of the Leo Aquarius axis?

Here's her commentary: Thunder strikes at the center of fertile marshes. The sage inspires the novices to face the dark night before a new moon and guide them from uncertainty to serenity. A banquet is set for the festivity. Supreme good auspices are prognosticated, advantageous to proceed. There is no blame. Inciting movement upward, growth and progress to come, to lead one must cultivate virtue and fully embody that virtue in every interaction. That is how one inspires a great myriad of followers. Win the hearts and minds of the people. That is how you gain victory without conflict. Avoid conflict for the sake of the people.

So what I love about this, the wisdom of this hexagram, is if we just take it purely as advice for us right now or insight for us right now, given the transits, it would seem to be saying that there is something that is worth following and there is something that is not worth following, and it's time to get clear about that. If you are going to be someone worthy of being followed, then you yourself had better be a good example of someone following something themselves, and it's an auspicious hexagram for growth, movement, change, as long as we are following the right thing, or it's a good omen for people who are in a position of leadership, so long as they are following the right thing, advantages, gains, developing a following, inspiring people, achieving the end that one sets out to achieve through an act of leadership or inspiration, so long as you're following the right thing.

So, you could almost read into that the potential for something Plutonian to be occurring that could adjust us if we're not following the right thing, or if people are if we're not following the right thing, or if we are being followed, but not being a good example, and I think that you know, as someone who's has a bit of this in my own life, right? Leading a little astrology school, you know, relatively small in the grand scheme of things, but all of these things to me are it's like what is that saying from I think it was from a Marvel movie, I want to say it was either Superman or Spider Man. With great power comes great responsibility, you know, and I feel that way.

Like becoming a parent felt like that for me. Seeing the school grow has felt like that for me. Where it's a little scary. It's like I am, I'm not a perfect person, and yet I have some leadership responsibilities in front of me. And I'm sure all of you know what I'm talking about. Wherever you have leadership responsibilities in your life, there's a feeling of like Jesus. You know, like, am I up? Am I up for this? And I don't think the universe tells us that you have to be perfect in order to lead or inspire.

I think it just says along the way you have to keep checking and rechecking yourself that you're trying to follow things that are noble, are the right things to be following. If you're in any position of leadership, are you humble and are you following something bigger than yourself? And if you continually do that, then you're heading in the right direction. And the people that are anyone that is following you, whether it's your kids or the people you're in charge of in a workplace, or you know the people at an astrology school or whatever it is, you know it's like whatever little sphere of influence we have, we're not going to steer people in the wrong way if we keep checking and rechecking ourselves that our compass is pointed due north toward love, toward forgiveness, toward grace, compassion, mercy, kindness, humility, curiosity. Right?

We just keep coming back to these things. This the reason I say keep coming back is because the second hexagram that we're going to get into in a minute is all about returning when you lose your way, and I'll show you that in a minute. But first, there are two lines that change in this hexagram: the fourth and fifth. The fourth line of the 17th hexagram says, "Inspiring followers yields harvest. The objective is met, but the outcome brings adversity and setbacks. Have trust, have faith, and trust in the way of the Tao. Be receptive to the ways of others. That is the way to clarity of mind. Is there any blame?

She says, "Follow only what can help you attain your objective. Be fierce with your conviction. Have faith in the ways of the divine. To walk the path according to the divine is to attain higher understanding. There are associates in your inner circle who are not sincere toward you. They do not sincerely share the same objectives as you. In keeping these associates around you, you may inadvertently follow them to your detriment."

To achieve your endeavor, you can only keep associates in your inner circle who are sincere toward you, who share the same objectives as you. Then, when you follow them, you are following them towards success. Thus, this in the fourth line means to make oneself open-minded and receptive to others' way. This is the way of the Tao. Wisdom is attained by acquiring knowledge. That knowledge is an enduring search. The right searches for the wrong, and the wrong searches for the right. The underlying principle of the axiom: there is no right and there is no wrong.

Now that's like sort of high-level philosophy going on right there. But essentially, this line speaks to things going well, but there potentially being a period of having to refine or adjust what you're doing because people that are close to you, either followers or people you're following, either people you have influence over or people that have influence over you, either way, are not worthy of having so close to you are not worthy of following, or are not worthy of having as close followers. Now, that's tricky because I don't think this line is telling you to condemn anyone, or burn bridges, or call people out, or get judgmental, or self-righteous.

But this line is notoriously. Let me read you one more translation. This line is notoriously, you know, what do I want to say? This line can say a lot about having the wrong reasons for followers following you or for following someone. So here is the translation from Wilhelm Reich. It often happens when a man exerts a certain amount of influence. Let's say he, she, they. When a person exerts a certain amount of influence, that they obtain a following by condescension toward inferiors. But the people who attach themselves to them are not honest in their intentions. They seek personal advantage and try to make themselves indispensable through flattery and subservience.

If one becomes accustomed to such satellites and cannot do without them, it brings misfortune. Only when a person is completely free from ego and intent by conviction upon what is right and essential do they acquire the clarity that enables them to see through such people and become free of error. So the first line changing seems to be about the right and wrong people to have closely following or to be following. You can see how so much of this is Leo Aquarius. Now the second line changing is line five, and this line is very auspicious.

It just says, "Trust in your excellence, auspicious to proceed." And Benibel Wen's commentary is, "Exude confidence. Be self-assured. You demonstrate integrity, and you work hard. Heaven's will is aligned with yours. Trust your position. Trust yourself. You're in the right, and the divine is aligned in way to support your endeavor, so it is auspicious to go forward. What genius believes to be true, the body can surely do." So this line, by contrast, is saying, your heart's in the right place. Be confident. Be self-assured. Be in your integrity. Keep going. Trust yourself. You're doing the right thing. You know, and just keep following the right thing, and everything else will be taken care of.

This line is sort of an antidote to the preceding line. The preceding line is fraught by difficulties about who to be following and not following, or who to want following you and not want following you. Is advice about how to just stay on the right path, and it's just like be confident, keep your heart centered on the right things, do what you know you're capable of doing. That doesn't mean being perfect; it just means keep doing the right thing, keep following the right principles, trust yourself, and everything will take care of itself. Isn't that beautiful advice? Feels very Leo, right? Feels very, and even it feels very Plutonian that these things would come to pass.

Now the changing hexagram is 24. Now hexagram 24 is called return, and this hexagram speaks to. Here's what it's all about returning to the bottom line, returning to the main thing. A winter in the season of life, when life itself looks like death, it is time for repose. Conserve your strength, and yet thunder at the base means the way to conserve your strength is through movement.

Auspicious to undertake action, when you move the body, the mind will move with it, and when you return to a state of rest, the mind dismounts upon inspiration. Lend powers from the earth. Immerse yourself in solitude in the world of nature. The action to undertake is to recharge the body, mind, and spirit. Focus not on the grim world around you, but on the brilliant charge within. A state of recovery. It is a period of repose. At the end of the winter solstice will come warmth and light, auspicious to proceed. You're at a turning point. The light is just beginning to emanate out of the darkness.

The light does not return by force. It comes as a part of a natural cycle. Thunder is breaking upward from within the earth. The first offspring begins to push out of the mother's womb, a rebirth of Yang after accumulation of much yin. At the time of the solstice, the ancient kings would close off the gates to their kingdom, sealing the mountain passes. She goes on and talks about basically a refresh, a time of refreshing and starting over and getting back to the bottom line. And what I love about this is the first hexagram is talking about inspiration, followers, leadership-who and what to follow?

Who are the right people to follow? Who do we want ideally following us if we're in any position of influence or leadership? Are we following the right things? And then after all of that commentary in hexagram 17, the second hexagram is about returning to the most basic starting point of what matters, and getting back to the heart is a really good way of thinking about that. Now, I have some notes that I wrote down. So, the central question is about what we are allowing ourselves to follow, or who we're allowing ourselves to follow, and Jupiter in Leo is like many Jupiter placements about our convictions, our ideals, our vision, our beliefs, our sense of purpose, confidence.

But when Jupiter's in Leo and is opposing Pluto in Aquarius, we can be forced to look at what convictions, visions, purpose, beliefs are rising up from something authentic in the heart, or and which are being formed by collective pressures, or ideological fanaticism, or an unconscious compulsion, or even power struggles, or things like jealousy, envy, or competition. Hexagram 17's basic piece of wisdom is that every life is following something. This is why the whole point of Taoist philosophy, in a sense, is to understand what the way looks like and to follow it, but right now I think what the I Ching seems to be saying is that the issue is around discerning what kind of guidance is appropriate and worthy versus what is unworthy as a form of guidance or wisdom?

And line four specifically is about gaining influence, popularity, esteem. That's sort of morally ambiguous. You're getting followers. You're getting a lot. You're getting influence. You're achieving something, but that text, that line four text, questions the integrity behind it. So that feels really Plutonian to me. Popularity and power can become sort of intoxicating, and Pluto might be purifying something around that for all of us right now, including myself. I don't want to exclude myself from this, especially not as someone who works in a like a public space, I again like I think we all have to bring ourselves back to what do I follow that's bigger than myself, and am I just continuing to try to orient myself toward that the best that I can?

It's not about being perfect; it's about continuing to do our best to move in the direction to follow something that we know to be worthy of following. Success can sometimes pull us off center. That's true. Charismatic certainty can be like a drug, and not every opportunity, as bright and shiny as it may be, is worthy. Influence does not mean integrity. You know these kinds of things. Now, line five that we were just visiting says that what's genuinely good to be following brings good things, good people, good fortune.

What's interesting here is that this line specifically says, "Become someone who recognizes what is worthy of following, and you will probably obtain a following." And whether that means for your like, let's just say you're someone who is starting an acupuncture practice, and you want to have a client. You want to have clientele. You want to build your business. The advice, if you got this hexagram, would be be someone who recognizes what is worthy of following, and you will develop clientele. And I know that that sounds sort of simple to us, but I personally believe that that's true.

I know that when I make every year of my life that I have an opportunity to grow and become a little bit better of a person, that internal battle that we all go through to just become the better version of ourselves. That when we do, usually if we are dependent upon anyone else to provide for us, that provision is at least in some measure dependent upon our ability to keep following something that is truly nourishing us. Right? If you follow that higher thing that's truly nourishing you, then you find that it nourishes you through the dependent relationships that you have coming through when you need them.

So, our conscience, our virtue, our sincerity, being genuine, listening to the right timing, inner truth, practicing alignment-all of the teachings of hexagram 17 seemed to say, "Good stuff comes when you just keep focusing on that." And a little shift is going from "What am I trying to achieve?" to "What deserves all of my heart and its devotion." Now, hexagram 24, the second hexagram, I wrote down a few notes. The hexagram is often called "return," return to your heart, your center, your calling, your integrity, your original purpose. It's a little bit like let's get back to the main thing right now. Let's get back to the simplest, base, most basic thing. So sometimes the deepest transformation is return, getting back to something.

All right, so those are my notes there. Let me show you the taro spread, which I thought was also really interesting. Let's go to okay. So in Nichepso, click on the home screen, the home box up here, and you can go to your personal space, and in the personal space, there's a taro table that you can flip cards on. All sorts of different things you can do with the taro spread here. So I flipped three cards, and I basically said, first card, what is this about? And I got the Knight of Cups. So to me, the Knight of Cups is maybe a person, or you could think about.

Sometimes I think of the court cards like people appearing. I've been taught to think about tarot that way, but Knight cards are often very action oriented, and especially with the Knight of Cups, the suit of water, you often think of a kind of dream, a longing, a message, a vision. I think of Mars Neptune a bit like Knight of Cups. It's very romantic and action oriented. It's a bit like I also think of like Mars and Pisces. The Knight of Cups wants to stir up action according to meaning. And a sort of heart-centered, imaginative quality. It feels very Jupiter and Leo to me. There's something that's calling us to move forward, but it's very emotional and inspired. It's a mission. It's a heart-centered kind of mission.

So that's what I was thinking of when I asked, "What is this?" And the Knight of Cups appeared. Of course, there is also the potential for to be wooed or charmed or influenced or persuaded by the Knight of Cups, who can be very charming. But you know, maybe the shadow is like being a, I don't know, a bit like intoxicating. But how substantive is it? So in the second card, I ask, "What is required of us right now?" Now, so what is this, and then what is required? And I pulled the strength card, and there's a literal taming of a lion. It was kind of an angel sort of taming open the mouth of a lion. So that's a beautiful card, right?

I think that's about confidence, not arrogance. That's the power without aggression and dominance. That's a strength, but one that's gentle. Because the woman is opening the lion's mouth. It's talking about how to hold real strength with real gentleness of heart, with a real space of softening internally. So I love that the strength card comes as the wisdom or guidance we need right now, and then where does this all lead if we follow the path, the Knight of Cups, the guidance or wisdom of strength. What is the outcome? Where does this lead? And it leads to the Empress, and that's an interesting card because to me the Empress and probably to you too if you know the Taro, it speaks to things like fertility and femininity, creation, sort of the garden of life, growth and a kind of abundant, fertile, earthy quality, but it's also very-it's very procreative, and I think of it a lot as like a feminine opulence and abundance.

So, what beauty can grow if we become aligned a little bit more closely aligned. If we develop a gentle strength, if we take inspired calling with gentle strength, where does it lead? The Empress. It leads to the Empress. That to me felt perfect. You know the Knight of Cups is like a calling, and the strength card is like becoming the person that's capable of carrying that calling, and then the Empress is this creative flourishing. So I love that. I think that's it. So between the two. If the I Ching is sort of saying like, "What are you following? How are you following it? Are you following the right things?" And then I think these taro cards are really speaking to something similar, especially from the knight to strength.

And the final culmination, if it's return in the hexagrams brings us back to the most basic, fundamental starting point of things, kind of a refresh, and a reestablishment of the things that really support life. That feels like a very embodied kind of empress wisdom. Well, those are my creative musings on the I Ching and Taro for this powerful astrological sequence we're going through, and I hope that they're interesting to you and useful. I hope that you're able to see your own life reflected in some of these patterns, and that it also informs your understanding of the archetypes themselves.

So I hope, as always, that you're having a beautiful day today, and I hope that your walk through this valley of life is made a little wiser and more magical because of languages like astrology, the taro, the I Ching. For me, they are the things that keep me pointed in the right direction, you know, because we all have things to learn and grow from. We all have mistakes that we make, but man, does it help to have something just kind of pointing you home? It's like, nope, just keep going in this way. You know what is real. You know what's true. You know in your heart the right way to keep going, and this language just helps me keep doing that.

And I show up doing this every day because I need to, you know, because I will get lost if I don't. And so it's from that space that I hope if there's anything worth following on this channel that people can connect with that part of the intention. So I hope you're having again a beautiful day.
