What happens when the vision you hold for your life meets the reality of its execution? This is the moment we are in. Right now, Jupiter and Saturn are forming a trine, a moment of profound integration within a cycle that began in 2020. We often speak of expansion and contraction, but this is something deeper. It is the process of a belief becoming a structure, a philosophy taking on form in the world. This historical alignment is asking you to look at where you have been and recognize the maturation of your own path.
We are in a window where the hard work of the past few years begins to bear fruit. It is a time for building consensus and feeling a sense of cohesion. The questions are simple but profound: What is becoming easier because you have practiced it consistently? What are you finally ready to take responsibility for? As we move through this transit together, I want to encourage you to look at your own life and see how the seeds planted in 2020 are reaching a new stage.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we're going to take a look at Jupiter in the sign of Leo making a trine to Saturn in the sign of Aries. This is another major inflection point in the Jupiter-Saturn cycle, and so we're going to talk about why that's so important today, both collectively and personally.
Mostly, we'll spend time with the personal side of things, but it'll also be a little lesson in why this cycle was considered so important to mundane astrologers throughout our history as a field, as the field of astrology. So we'll look at that today and hopefully give you a sense of how you can work with it.
And if you've been feeling like your sense of belief, philosophy, life direction is going through a significant time of change, that's normal for this cycle in this particular portion of the cycle. So we're going to be talking about what that looks like and why you might be experiencing that right now or in the near future.
So anyway, before we get into it, as always, remember to like and subscribe. It helps us grow and sustain what we do tremendously when you give us the thumbs up every day and subscribe if you're not yet subscribed. It's free to do so. You can find transcripts every day of our talks of my talks on the website nightlightastrology.com.
Head over to the website. Couple of things to promote. First of all, I'm doing readings again. I have a temporary window in which I am booking out my calendar with readings. So go to book a reading, click on readings with Adam. If my price point is too high, check out readings. Need based readings.
Those are with some of our aspiring astrologers on staff who are gaining experience. A little bit more affordable price point if you need that. Also go to the events page, click on Community Quiet. You will see that every day at Nightlight we have free meditation. So if you ever want to join us and sit quietly in the morning, we have that resource for you.
It is free and it's great to have a spiritual practice that we're sharing in community. Also, click on Annual Retreat. Next August we have our annual Oracle Within Training and Retreat. This is a training in divination and connecting with the spiritual essence of our practice, the roots of our practice as diviners.
What does it mean to be a diviner, and how do you cultivate a relationship with the oracle, which is different than how do you read charts? So this is a very hands-on, experiential, healing, transformative event. On sale now. Up until October 1, you can pick up the early bird rate. Come join us next summer for a really special event. Hope to see you there.
Finally, go to the shop page. Click on my books. You'll see my book, The Oracle Speaks, is out. Audible version coming very soon. Stay tuned for announcements on that. You can pick up the book there. Leave us a good review if you like it on Amazon.
All right. Well, let's turn our attention to Nichepsos, our affiliate software program. The guys are coming out on Monday, the 24th, for a live stream to talk about updates to the program and do a little revisiting of what makes this program so special. The affiliate discount code, if you want 20% off your subscription to Nachepso, is in the comment section or the description of the video, so you can find it there.
All right, what are we looking at? Well, we have Jupiter in the sign of Leo. Let me advance this just a tick. Get us to Tuesday, August 18. As we are today, we're just entering the space where Jupiter is going to be in the three degree engagement range with Saturn. Let's map this out over the next days and weeks.
If we take this forward one day at a time, we're going to notice that Jupiter gets into that engagement range the next few days here, and then the perfection of these two planets in their exact aspect will come right about here. This is Monday, August 31st, into Tuesday, September 1st, the very end of this month of August into the beginning of September, the two planets will meet, and then we're going to give them three degrees of separation.
That takes us forward. Oh, right, right here you got the two planets moving to about three degrees apart, right around mid September. So that means now the middle of August to the middle of September, we are in the Jupiter trine Saturn window. Now, what I want to do today is tell you about the Jupiter Saturn cycle, what makes it so significant historically, what the different phases of the cycle are, when those phases happen.
So you could map them out a little bit for yourself, where you've been and how the arc of this most recent Jupiter-Saturn cycle that we're in, which began in December of 2020, has been playing out. So to put it simply, the Jupiter-Saturn cycle describes how a vision of order or organization or meaning or belief becomes temporally structured, meaning how it takes shape in time and space.
Jupiter is the intelligible pattern. Jupiter is associated with teleology, which means like I've used this example many times before, but it's like the acorn and the oak tree. Inherent in the acorn is the oak tree. Jupiter represents the manifest sense of purpose, meaning, order that something will become in time and space according to the pattern that is inherent within it.
This is why, in the ancient world, Jupiter was associated with the law of Zeus, the intelligible pattern of the cosmos that is inherent in all things and that compensates for all things, especially if things deviate. This is why Zeus Jupiter is also associated with justice because it is that natural force that brings things to the conclusion that supports meaning and coherence and purpose and legitimacy.
So, if Jupiter is supplying that intelligible pattern, then Saturn is giving that pattern time, space, body, form, shape, boundaries, in practical terms, that might mean offices and rules and procedures, institutions, hierarchies, traditions, consequences, duties, responsibilities. Jupiter says this is meaningful, or this is what I believe in, or this is what I know to be true or real, and Saturn says, "How do you make it substantive?
How do you make it endure? What is required so that it may be not only established but maintained? What form does it take? And also, Saturn naturally ruling death, old age, winter says when has its time passed, and when its time has passed, that usually means that the oak tree is dying, or it means that the cycle of death and rebirth of meaning, order, purpose, the visions of life are ready to be reformed and reshaped.
So sometimes we simplify Jupiter-Saturn cycles to keywords like expansion and contraction, but it's not that simple. It's this continual process of visions, beliefs, ideals becoming coherent, maturing, developing in form in time and space, then being tested and then eventually ceasing to exist, and evolving in new cycles.
Institutions are a really good collective mundane way of tracking the Jupiter-Saturn cycle, or they are they are, yeah, because institutions are very obvious expressions of the Jupiter-Saturn cycle: institutions of government, law, education, corporations, and also paradigms are almost like ideologies that govern collective bodies of people that people subscribe to or believe in.
So, the Jupitarian claim is that this is worthy. This is good. This is worthwhile as a form of organization or belief, or as a form of law, or as a way of giving shape to something. This is a good vision. That's behind. I mean, most of us, whatever belief you have, you're like, well, this is good enough, or this is ideal, and in order for us to really embody that sense of belief or vision, it has to be organized and it has to be enacted.
We have to be responsible for it in some way. So a simple example of this would be like if you're going to study astrology, and if astrology is an organized system of belief, thought, practice, technique, and so forth, then over time it becomes organized and enacted through teachers, schools, the culture, communities, organizations, and so forth, as the tradition of astrology, let's say, evolves, changes through time, the structures and forms that carry it have to change and evolve and go through deaths and reconfigurations and so forth, and so Jupiter Saturn cycles can be applied to large.
What do I want to say? Yeah, like fields, like the field of physics, or the field of astrology, or a university, or an entire organization, like a or not organization. But an entire body of belief, like Christianity or Islam or Judaism or something like that. So, typically, what happens within the cycle on a collective level when we're talking about big, vast bodies like this, like the astrological community and its history and so forth, the conjunction will represent seeding points, conception points, just like a new moon.
And what that typically means is that an old order is being replaced with a new order. But it's not clear yet what form or shape the new order will take. It's just clear that something new is being born, and that can coincide with the collapse of an old system, or new ideas arising and new structures needing to be developed in order to support them.
Attempts perhaps to reform or replace something, and so the conjunction is not always like a really clear time in terms of where everything is going. In fact, the future can feel somewhat uncertain because the beginning might be marked simply by the fact that nothing is going to remain the same after this. Let me give you an example.
In 2020, in December. Now I'm going to put the chart back on the screen, and what we're going to do is a little historical exercise. I'm going to take out everything in the chart that I'm looking at right now, and let's just bring it all the way down to Jupiter and Saturn. All right. Now let's take this back in time. We're going to go to 2020, and we're going to take this to December of 2020.
Now, in December of 2020, right around the solstice, actually the winter solstice here in the northern hemisphere, Jupiter and Saturn conjoined in the sign of Aquarius. Now, here is where those two planets were located in my natal chart as a Taurus rising, and I'm using this as a template so that you can do the same thing. So they were located in my 10th house, which is the career house.
Now, for those of you who've been around Nightlight for a while, you probably know that it was during that pandemic year in which many online schools and people that teach or have some kind of online training were a lot of them were kind of blowing up because a lot of people were at home and thinking about things like astrology or taking time to learn things that perhaps they had more time for.
There was a lot of uncertainty, and astrology is something that a lot of people were turning to. This was a really major inflection point, actually, for the modern history of astrology, because there had been a lot of prediction about the Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, and then the pandemic came, and a lot of people this became a major turning point for astrologers and astrology as a field.
Happened to land in my 10th house, and at that time I had to hire staff. The entire, I mean, I was just working by myself, you know. And it was that year that I had to hire staff and start developing more of an infrastructure to support the influx of students, the explosion of my YouTube channel, like all of this, right? So that was a time of a lot of uncertainty.
I had no idea if this would even last, right? Because it was the pandemic. Who knew, you know? And would the growth be sustainable? Like what? But what I knew for sure was that the structure had to change to accommodate the growing interest in our programs and my podcast and so forth. Now, when we take that historic cycle and we apply it to our personal lives, typically what happens is that around the opening of the cycle, we're thinking about what we're placing our faith and trust in, our personal philosophy or worldview, gnosis or embodied, realized understanding or wisdom about our purpose in life, or the reality or the gods or divinity.
It's like a starting point for spiritual transformation, philosophical transformation, moral or spiritual orientation shifts dramatically for most of us around the times of Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions, which can be accompanied with a changing sense of vocation or calling professionally. The stories that we live by that we feel that we are living can be significantly reoriented around Jupiter Saturn conjunctions, and there's an intuition that we have around Jupiter Saturn contacts in general that there is a meaningful path, but we have to align ourselves with it.
It requires a shift in orientation or direction, and this will require a kind of honest, realistic assessment of where we are, what we believe, and how things need to change or reform in order to accommodate a growing or budding sense of what is true or real or important to us. So the Jupiter-Saturn process continues that journey from the conjunction forward.
Now, again, go back to December of 2020. Think about right around that time. I mean, you can think about the collective. There's low hanging fruit there to think about what was happening in December and January of 2020 into 2021. But it reflects a time in which old systems are shifting in direction and orientation rapidly. In our personal lives, what does that look like? And excuse me, got piece of dog hair in my mouth.
Love it when that happens. So anyway, oh my God, where have you been since December of 2020, and what started around that time? It doesn't have to be exactly December 2020. Think of January, February, March of 2021. Now, what happens in the Jupiter-Saturn cycle as the cycle continues is the process of continuing to enact the new world, the new belief, the new structure, the new order unfolds from this point forward.
So we keep going, and we're going to see that the two planets, we're going to go to their square next, so think about the conjunction as a seeding point. Then the square usually represents a moment of greater conflict within the cycle, as new systems, patterns, orders, direction, philosophy is establishing itself. Now we have a time in which we have to think very deeply about how that system is going to transform.
So it was around the summer of 2024. If we back this up just a little bit, we're going to see that the two planets come into. And you know what? Do they come in? Let me just make sure I've got this right. Yeah, they do. Okay, so it's right around here. If we take this, I'll get it down to the exact day for you guys. So this would be right here. This is August 19 of 2024.
That there is a kind of growing sense of conflict and reorientation happening around this time. How can you describe the first quarter square of the cycle? At the waxing square, the new understanding, the new belief, the new direction, the new paradigm meets some kind of resistance. There may be sacrifices required, hard decisions. It's like you're at a crossroads with respect to the development or implementation of these systems, beliefs, ideals.
So the conflict between what you believe and how you are trying to enact what you believe, like this isn't working. I need to make a change because this is a moment where I'm either going to get it right or start deviating significantly from the ideal that the cycle started with. This can be about hard decisions and the need to distinguish what is real and substantive and how to align your evolving belief with the most mature assessment of what is required to enact it to actually make it real.
Saturn, you could say, is testing Jupiter, and Jupiter is reaching this point where it has to become a more mature version of itself to continue bringing the new direction and paradigm forward. So in 2024, we reached another major point from late summer through the fall. Now again, low-hanging fruit in the collective. At least here in the United States, you can follow these along political lines. It's pretty impressive, but what are we dealing with personally?
Here's what happens at the first quarter square. If I had to summarize it, man, I thought that having a pretty clear new sense of path and direction would make everything easier, but instead, there's a lot required to enact it. A new, more responsibility, more maturity, hard decisions. You have to develop discipline, acquire different skills, establish different boundaries, accept certain limitations.
The original inspiration, in other words, becomes more specific because reality says, "What do you actually mean, and how are you going to actually make it real?" And this is a real testing period for that new vision. It was now. I'll just give you an example of how you can look at this. So, in it was around. Well, you know what? I knew it's not even necessary for me to show the chart.
But look at that late part of 2024. What was happening for me around that time was we were having to face basically the staff that I needed to keep the operation going because it kept growing past that 2020 big growth moment and just kept going on. Was staff continually had to grow and expand, and all of a sudden I was like, I go from astrologer, creative, and astrological counselor, sort of spiritual astrology therapist, I don't know, something like that, and content creator to manager of a business.
You know what I mean. I don't have those skills. Like I'm learning them on the fly. I'm learning to manage staff, to organize schedules, to have team meetings, and there were major challenges around this time when it came to how do I want the company to be ordered, which I never had to think about. I'm just like, what's the horoscope for the day? You know, how do I teach this class on essential dignities or something?
And what is the most creative use of my time? It's reading, writing, creating content, reading charts for people, and teaching classes. Now, I'm having to think about how to steward the growth of a school, right? That has more moving parts. You see what I'm saying? So that's how it showed up for me around this time. A lot of it was about organization of the company developing, like more leadership skills of a whole team of people, and facing some challenges around learning how to do those things, and the people on my staff, there's a lot of people who are still here, you know, and then there was a lot of turnover in those first couple of years.
People who went on to do other things, or it wasn't quite the right fit, or whatever, but thankfully everything, I think everything, most everything, happened very peacefully. But I think that the people who've been around Nightlight, I'm thinking of like some of my course directors, Saffron, who works for us every day. Like everyone has had to grow because of Nightlight growing, you know, and we all had to develop skills and abilities, mostly myself, to figure out how to be a bigger group.
Do you know what I mean? So again, because the seeding point was in my career house, this makes a lot of sense. But you can track it at this time. It was the whole sign house of Gemini and the whole sign house of Pisces, and we can notice that these it doesn't have to be like mine is very. I'm talking about something very external, like a company and profession, but that's because mine was in the 10th house.
You know, the seeding point was there, but these things can be very internal. It can be about your personal, moral, spiritual, or philosophical orientation, and how things in your life are constantly forcing you to move into greater, deeper alignment with that new vision and understanding, which can be very psychological and internal. It doesn't necessarily have to be external like the dynamic I'm describing, but now here we reach the trine.
Let's go back and let's bring us back to today. Here we are with the trine. Now you could look at the whole sign house of Leo and the whole sign house of Aries for a little bit more information. You could tie it back to the whole sign house of Aquarius where the cycle opened, but when we get to the fire trine here, it doesn't have to be a fire trine; just any opening trine in the cycle.
The emphasis is on building consensus, and really, this is a time where the whole thing starts to click. If you've done that work, you're going to find that there's a building period of momentum, consensus, smoother, easier results, and our daily life is at a point where it can begin to support and embody our deeper convictions. In other words, it's a period of integration.
The waxing trine in the cycle can represent, I'm now starting to feel confident in my direction, in my alignment with it, in the ways that I've been able to embody it, in what I've learned, and how it's all kind of fall. Some things are falling into place. There can be almost like the consolidation or building of momentum or consensus within a spiritual practice or a philosophical worldview.
If it relates to your vocation, there may be a period of time where what you stand for, what you believe, how you do what you do is becoming more stable, more successful, smoother or easier in delivery of its results, even just the accumulation of living wisdom and experience, feeling like I'm really starting to level up or something. This is a period of time where teachers and allies and opportunities to express wisdom that's been hard earned may naturally appear.
There may be a growing sense that you can trust your own moral spiritual compass to make important decisions, and you're feeling confident. Like, look at me. I've grown. I've learned. I'm doing hard things, but I'm doing them because I've reached a point in this cycle where I know what to do, and I trust my wisdom. You can maybe communicate or convey that wisdom to others with greater ease, and there's a greater sense of correspondence between what you value and how you act.
And there's a sense that your life is starting to align with and move with your commitments and your values. What I believe and how I'm living are beginning to have each other's backs. The path is something that I'm living. I've been trying to figure out how to be on this path, and now it feels like I'm really starting to everything's starting to click.
Now, there's some questions that I wrote down that you could ask yourself right now, as we are in this trine space. Totally optional if you want homework. What is becoming easier because I've practiced it consistently? What am I finally starting to realize after a lot of hard work? What intuition, guidance, philosophically, spiritually, etc. am I being asked to follow, as if this is the natural next step I need to take?
Where am I ready to assume greater responsibility? Where's the other one? And what's gathering momentum? What is gaining momentum? I think Jupiter in Leo brings with it a sense of where your personal authority, courage, identity, creative purpose in life. This is what I'm here to do. This is what I believe in. This is what I want to create. This is the part of myself I'm ready to step into.
It's ready. I'm ready for that next growth or maturity step. And then I think the Aries piece is interesting because the Aries piece is like you don't need permission, just go, strike out on your own, blaze the trail, be a pioneer. The genuine authority and confidence to be yourself, can you separate that from the need to be loved or liked in some bland popularity contest?
Are you being accountable and brave for the life that you say you want and the person you say you are? These are things that I think Aries brings up. Now, finally, we will move into the opposition. Let's just preview that really quickly so that we know where the cycle is carrying us. If we take this forward a little bit, we're going to see that we get. Where am I? Here we go. I think actually, I think they come together.
Yeah, here. So we have their. Here it is. I was like, I know it's right in Taurus and Scorpio. So this is December 2029. That month of December 2029, the two planets oppose Jupiter in Scorpio, Saturn in Taurus. So the opposition is a place of fruition and completion. You look at that opposition and you confront what the belief and the path has produced, and you evaluate what you've learned by looking at the fruit that's come onto the tree.
It's the place of the cycle's manifest result, which can be resulting in a lot of success and a lot of accolades or kind of like ripened fruit that you've harvested through hard work, dedication to things you believe in. But it can also be a point where you have to confront. Yeah, you sometimes the fruit shows up, and there are. It's a bitter fruit, right? There you go, oh, this is what I created.
This is the seeding of the cycle. I followed a path, and now I'm getting feedback, which begins the second half of the cycle, where the belief and the worldview and the direction that it took you in start to fall off, and rot and decompose, so to speak, into the ground for the fertility of the next cycle. So anyway, I thought today it would be fun to visit this cycle.
Hopefully, it gives you some good insights to work with. Let's just briefly review that right now we're in the midst of this moment, and the real connection between them comes at the very end of August. That would be August 31 into September 1. That's the moment of real transformation for the cycle, and then after that point, up through mid September, everything that that's the critical moment for these two planets.
So mid August right now through mid September. If we take this forward a little bit, we're going to notice a part two when Jupiter retrogrades. So Jupiter will retrograde. That retrogradation comes while the Sun is just in Sagittarius, so the retrogradation will occur. This is about mid December, and then through that retrogradation, Jupiter is going to come back down and get pretty close back into the trine again, the two planets will come together right here.
This is April of 2027. Jupiter stations in April while the sun's in Aries, and then the two planets go forward, and Jupiter will meet with Saturn in the trine one last time, and that trine will come here. It is, yeah. We're looking at about July of 2027. Yeah, almost the entire month of July 2027. So, to me, I find these cycles a little hard to track if you are not used to thinking about how your views and your beliefs and kind of like the paradigm that you're inhabiting and how the assumptions you have about yourself and life and your life purpose or meaning of life is being oriented or directed through stories that you're living, and this is a these periods of time are really good periods of time to check in on how the progress or process of embodying your beliefs is taking place.
Well, hopefully again that is useful for all of you. I hope you're all having a great day today. I hope that this channel is a blessing for all of you. Every morning I meet and we now with a whole community of you to meditate every morning, and just about every morning I pray. And certainly before I sit down to teach classes or make content, that something positive would come through me.
Hopefully something fun, something funny, but also something meaningful. The prayer of this channel is that astrology would be part of how we walk each other home, to quote Ram Dass, and that it would be part of learning to see the cosmos that we live in as sacred. If we can stay close to that sacredness, then we can stay close to our own heart and to the hearts of all living beings.
And I think that's what it's all about. I need that message daily, and so I have to pray that that message comes through me daily, so that I keep trying to embody that belief in what I'm doing here. Anyway, have a great day today. We'll see you again tomorrow. Bye.
