The Mars Jupiter conjunction meaning is not a forecast. It is an invitation to ask what your action is answerable to. In this podcast episode, Adam Elenbaas explores the slow-building contact between Mars and Jupiter—a pairing of courage and wisdom that asks whether your will is in service to something larger than recognition.
This is a conversation about character. Mars gives the capacity to act. Jupiter gives the hunger for meaning. When they meet, the question becomes: are you acting with humility, or are you acting from appetite?
The conjunction is happening in the bound of Mars, while Jupiter has no major dignity by bound or sign. Jupiter is, in a sense, under the sway of Mars—a Marsy Jupiter. This suggests that the wisdom you seek may arrive through the refinement of skill, not through abstract knowledge. The scholar and the artisan meet.
But there is a mitigating factor: Venus, in her own bound, turns direct in Libra just two days before the exact conjunction. She softens the heat. She adds diplomacy and tact. The Mars Jupiter conjunction meaning, then, is not simply about force meeting faith. It is about force meeting faith under the gentle supervision of grace.
The episode explores five themes. First, knowledge and skill—the desire to do something with what you know. Second, teachers and mentors—the inspiring figures who challenge us, and the humility required to receive what is good even when their humanity is difficult. Third, courage and dharma—the willingness to act in alignment with sacred duty, even when the path is demanding. Fourth, the power of speech—words that mobilize, inspire, and sometimes domineer. And fifth, big moves and allies—the courage to act, the temptation to overpromise, and the quiet support of people who open doors.
Each theme returns to a single question. The Mars Jupiter conjunction meaning is not about whether you will succeed. It is about whether your action is answerable to something sacred. A big move supported by heart and humility succeeds. A big move full of bravado and hot air accrues difficult karma.
This is why the episode resists prediction. Astrology, here, is a mirror for character. The conjunction does not tell you what to do. It asks you to reflect on what you are serving. Are you acting from the need to prove yourself, or from the willingness to be of use?
The South Node is nearby, adding a layer of reflection on the past—old patterns, old teachers, old lessons about power and recognition. Venus direct in Libra softens the edge. She reminds us that tact is not weakness. Grace is not evasion.
If you are drawn to the deeper currents of Hellenistic astrology, this episode is an invitation to sit with the Mars Jupiter conjunction meaning as a living question, not a fixed answer. It is an invitation to ask what your courage is for, and whether your wisdom has become practical enough to serve.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Happy Friday, everybody! Today we're going to take a look at Mars and Jupiter coming together in a conjunction. Now, this is a slow-moving conjunction that's not going to form until next week, but it is now within that close degree range that we're going to start feeling and noticing it. So, I figured we might as well talk about it now, and sort of prepare ourselves for it.
This is also happening right around the south node of the moon, and we're going to synthesize that piece of it next week, closer to the time of the conjunction. So today, a deep dive into the meaning of Mars Jupiter conjunctions, really any kind of Mars Jupiter contact. But before we get into it, as always, remember to like and subscribe. It helps us tremendously when you support us in that simple way.
Give us the thumbs up, turn on notifications, all that good stuff. You can find daily transcripts of any of my talks on the website. That is nightlightastrology.com. As always, we have just a few promotions at the beginning of our episodes. First one to make note of is that our new first year course, Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic, begins November 14.
There is an informational video telling you everything you need to know about the course, tagged on to the end of daily content during enrollment season. You can find that today at the end of the talk. Everything here on the page should be good too. You can find everything. The video is there as well. We start November 14. It is a fantastic program.
We're now an APAI certified program, which is awesome. Which means you can get a really serious professional credential through us if you take all three of our year pro. We have three years of programming plus a year in horary. We have master classes. Our prices are raising just slightly in 2027, and so good time to also save on that.
But at the bottom, you're going to find the one thing I want to make sure you are aware of, which is need-based tuition. So need-based tuition is going to allow you to work within a sliding scale. Tuition assistance is right there in the bottom right-hand corner. Just click the Apply Now button, and all you have to do is tell us your situation.
We don't judge. We just ask you to pick within a sliding scale what you can afford, and that's it. And then you're you're welcome to join. We trust you to use that, you know, to be discerning. Like if you can afford our course, please pay for the normal price. If you're struggling and you really want to take the course, you're within a fixed or limited income.
Then feel free to use that. That's what it's there for. We want to make sure that a sacred topic has some flexible pricing for people. Just meeting you where you're at. We know that everyone is living in a different financial reality, and we don't think a spiritual subject should be exclusive. So, otherwise, if you also want to book a reading, you can go to the book a reading tab.
Readings with me are right there. If you can't afford my price point for horary or natal chart readings, or both there, check out the need-based astrology readings as well. As well, I want to tell you my book is out in audible form. Click on my books under shop. The audible version is there. If you want the audio book version of my book, The Oracle Speaks, go to Events, click on Monthly Webinars.
My talk on the fourth house, the IC, is coming up on November 19. Really excited for that. And then go to the Community Quiet tab. Every day at Nightlight, free meditation. Come join us. It is in a really sweet, loving group that we're we've been together for almost a year now, and you're going to find that it's a really warm community space to practice your spirituality.
On Sundays, we meet and have meditation plus group share, which is really really nice. So if you're looking for a little support, come check that out. It's free. All right. On that note, let us turn our attention to Necepso. Of course, this is our official affiliate software program. The Chepstow guys are awesome, and the program discount code is in the description of the video.
All right, so here you can see today, Friday, November 6, Mars and Jupiter are within three degrees of one another, and so within within that three-degree range, we have the engagement of the two planets. Let's look at the timeline here, so that you have a real feel for when that three-degree range is in effect. So we're going to have Mars within three degrees of Jupiter, applying and separating between November 6 and roughly November 23.
These aren't exact exact, but it's a rough a rough timeline when they are within just about three degrees. Now, during that period of time on November 15, the two planets will be in exact aspect. That means that they they are I should say, exact conjunction. So if we go forward to next weekend, this this coming weekend, a week from this Sunday, that's what I'm trying to say.
So November 15, a week from Sunday, the two planets get together. They just start separating Monday, November 16. And then they pull away in that three degree range by about the 23rd. So that's a long period of time for the two planets to be together. And we are looking at the next week being a tale of their upcoming conjunction. I mean, it is just it is it is really powerful. the the The conjunction of these two planets is nothing to scoff at.
Now, what's interesting is that their conjunction is happening in the bound of Mars, while Mars is conjoined Jupiter, and Jupiter really has no major dignity at the moment, not by bound or by sign. And so, it's Jupiter is going to be a little under the sway of Mars, it's going to be a Marsy Jupiter. In other words, and we also mitigating that will have Venus in her own bound Morning Star turning direct in Libra just two days prior to the Mars Jupiter conjunction.
So Venus should soften things significantly, and this is all, you know, this is all what we'll look at closer to the time. What I want to talk about today are five things to watch for given the powerful dynamic of Mars Jupiter. Now, this is sort of Mars Jupiter centric, not Mars Jupiter in Leo centric. We might add some things to this as we go, but yeah, I think this will be a kind of a deep dive into the way that these two planets can combine, and you're going to notice these things over several weeks.
Now, where can you notice them? You may notice them in terms of yourself and your mood and your mind and what's going on inside of you. So keep an eye out for that. The best way to do that is to be in journal practice, or meditation, or prayer, any kind of space where you do a little self-reflection. How am I doing? What am I feeling? What's going on in my body?
If you're not already in the practice of doing that, I can't. I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're processing astrology all the time, only in your head and just in the stream, you know, like the hamster wheel of life. Oh, it's a little hard. So you know, try to process this. Try to process astrology in a self-reflective way through self-reflective care and practice.
That's going to help you. Now, the next thing you're going to do is you're going to notice it in the world around you. Think about the big places that most of us occupy friendships and social life, intimacy or partnerships like close close relationships, family, home and living environment, work and public or social sphere of life. Those tend to be the big areas you're going to notice this energy or this these themes and patterns within those spaces, and some interaction of the two.
All right, now what do we have here? The first one on my list is knowledge and skill. Now, you may be like when you think of Mars Jupiter, I think a lot of people just jump right to okay, someone's on a megaphone being an asshole. You know, like someone's just like big and loud and you know, kind of overwhelming. Yeah, yeah, that that could that could be a thing. Um. So, but another thing is that Mars and Jupiter together are thought of as someone who is very adept at a skill or some form of knowledge or ability. It is associated with mastery.
In other words, think of like someone being handed a trophy for being victorious and really good at something. Now, we would mostly think of I don't know sports with Mars Jupiter, but actually, anything that you're really good at can be can become you can become better at it, or you can be recognized for it on some level. So watch for the desire to do something with what you know to build, or maybe repair, or practice, or demonstrate, or apply some skill or ability to solve something, or to succeed, or achieve something.
So the classical combination here is artisan Mars. Now I know we don't think of Mars as an artisan, but anyone who builds or works with things as like a skilled I don't want to say just laborer, but like someone who has like like Mars is sort of like a scalpel, and any any kind of skill that you wield with a degree of tact. You're like I'm. I'm good at something. I'm slicing and dicing. If you're if you have the just that kind of adept skillfulness, that can be a Mars thing.
Put that with Jupiter, and you get the the scholar and the artisan. So intelligence expressed through skill and capabilities. So that's a really good one. Now, understanding something and being able to act upon it or to execute something that's Mars Jupiter as well. Okay, the next thing would be. On my list would be that we're talking about teachers.
Well, let me tell you the potential for a very inspiring teacher to enter your life, for a very inspiring. You know, when you it's like it's like Mr. Keating in Dead Poet Society. When I was a kid, that was the first movie and the first figure that ever made me want to write, and then I would eventually get a master's degree in English, go on to an MFA degree in creative writing.
Like my, and I'm not kidding you when I say that that desire started when I was in about the fourth or third grade, and my dad showed me that movie, and I all I wanted to do was to be an English teacher and to write. Now the English teacher part sort of fell off, but the writing did not. And I actually I consider myself I consider astrology like a literary art form in so many ways, but that's another conversation.
Anyway, this can describe the Mars Jupiter combination a mentor that challenges you, or the confidence to represent something that you that you know with a lot of passion, and become a source of encouragement and knowledge for other people. Now, the dark side of this is going to be, I always joke around about David Goggins, like he's like inspiring and maddening at the same time.
I find people like that very inspiring because I have a Capricorn Moon and I I have a loaded sixth house and I just love to plug away at things. Like I'm a very consistent, like disciplined type of person, and I'm not saying everyone needs to be that way, but this is that like coach who will fire you up, and that you want to like run through a brick wall for, and all of those good things.
But also, like, oh, you know what I'm thinking of? Oh my God, this is the perfect, this is the perfect image. Did you guys ever see the movie Whiplash? It's a movie. Ah, what's his name? Miles Teller, I'm pretty sure that's his name, and then oh, what's the other guy's name? The old guy, J.K. Something or another. Not oh my god, I forget his name.
He's I think he's in some insurance commercials or something. Anyway, he's you know him if you saw him. He plays like one of the he plays the oh my God, the composer? No, the the band director of an incredibly well known, prestigious jazz band at like one of the world's best jazz music schools or something like that. And Miles Teller plays this aspiring drummer, and this guy is like really, really, really intense and over the top.
And yet he the the weird part about the story is that he sort of in all of his sort of evil over the top intensity as a teacher, he sort of does get the best out of Miles Teller. It's a crazy, it's a good movie, but that's Mars Jupiter. It's like the teacher who is just way too much, way too extreme, and yet maybe they end up being really helpful.
I will tell you, I had the one of the very first shamans and shamans apprentices that I worked with in the ayahuasca tradition, indigenous curandero American apprentice. There was so much of that, like almost like a machismo to like face your fear and stand in the current of the medicine, and and I had to leave because it was too much for me.
But this is also easily one of the most inspiring and complicated figures of my life. I will forever have this person in my life as one of the best people I ever met, and someone that was too much. You know what I'm saying? That's it, though, isn't it? I mean, that's just some people are like that. That's Mars Jupiter. So anyway, watch for that. Um.
Yeah, I think there's a kind of like might makes right, or like pride around your knowledge or ability, or like an arrogant teacher, like you know that kind of stuff can come up too. Yeah. Also, I think with the South Node, there's something around, like I reflect on my journey as a teacher, and you know, being a an astrology teacher now for 17 years, I'm I I always say this at the end of our programs.
I always say the only reason this this works for anyone who you know goes through our programs is that along the way, you make allowances for the humanity of your teacher to just be someone that at times you disagree with, or you know you find their personality difficult, and you you end up sort of forgiving them for their humanness and accepting the good things that are coming through the classroom, and that is really really key to this.
Transit too. It's about confrontations potentially with teachers or masterful people, and recognizing that I'm receiving something good from from this, even if I'm having to also filter some ego. And those two things are usually true. You know, it's very rare that we just have some sparkling angel for a teacher or guide, or mentor, or even our therapists.
You you work with the same therapist long enough, you're going to see their humanness too. You get what I mean. So keep all of that in mind. Let's have some grace as well for the faults and flaws of people who really inspire us. Okay, well, let's go on. Courage and dharma. Now, in Indian astrology, the guru is there to help us understand dharma. Who am I? What is real? What is true? What am I in service to?
But as an interpretive synthesis, Jupiter's emphasis on helping us understand dharma and Mars's capacity to act with courage raises the question: Are you are you acting in alignment with your dharma with courage? You know, watch for opportunities to arise to protect or fulfill sacred duties. There's a kind of mission orientation to this combination that says I must I must defend and protect what is real and true and good and healthy. I have to stand in the fire of my heart's calling and just do it.
Okay. Now the next one, also really emphasized in Indian astrology, is that speech can become particularly powerful when Mars and Jupiter get together. The two combined can be about people who are quite persuasive, charismatic, charming, who make strong teachers, who make compelling arguments, who give decisive advice or counsel, and words and speech and wisdom that can mobilize and inspire people.
So speech can become quite powerful and potentially quite domineering. That I'm thinking of that movie Whiplash again. That teacher is has an incredibly high standard and is also at times abusive with his language. All right. Next on my list is a big move, and what I mean here is just that we have we have wisdom, and we have martial power, and so the the pairing of wisdom with force means that we might be ready to do something really big or to make a big statement, or make a big splash, or make a big choice.
It's the courage to make a big move, renewed confidence, taking initiative, willingness to pursue a really big or substantial goal, and something that maybe we were scared of doing in the past. Now we go, no, I can do that. Shadow would be overpromising and under delivering, or feeling capable for something that we have not adequately prepared for. Let me give you an example.
Frequently, I see people coming through, you know, training for astrology, not just in my program, but in the field overall, the love for astrology is guiding us. Right? We love astrology, so we go. I'm going to study. I'm going to do this, and then you get into realizing like how much is required, how much learning, how much practice, how much experience you need to gain, and people can either go, okay, I quit, and then it turns out that you had enthusiasm enough to start, but not enough enthusiasm to carry something through.
And I always say the same thing: they just let your love of astrology be greater than you know the things you lack. You lack the experience. You know, you you may you may lack more training or learning or time under your belt, time on task that you need to have, but just let your love for astrology be greater than all of that and keep going.
On the other hand, sometimes people will just launch into a career with confidence and personality and like make a TikTok or something, you know, and then it's like, where's the astrology? This is like not very good astrology, but it's all personality. All of this is very Mars Jupiter insofar as it's like make a big move, act on courage, but be humble.
You know, you don't have to be you don't have to have all the knowledge in the world, for example, to step forward as an astrologer, but you do have to have humility and a love for astrology that is greater than your desire for success in astrology, and if you have that, you're gonna you're gonna be supported, and you're you're going to find the way forward.
Big moves that are supported by heart and humility succeed with this combination. Big moves. That are full of bravado and hot air often accrue difficult karma around this particular combination. Now, I have I don't know a junk drawer of other things that I came up with for number five allies. So watch for advocates, sponsors, mentors, therapists, teachers, gurus, influential people who may be very supportive right now, especially in helping you take some kind of personal initiative.
Now, you might also be that person who's lending strength or opening a door, being encouraging or supportive or inspiring for someone else. And I think the the negative side of this would be like be careful of support of supporting people without being careful of who you're supporting or receiving support without being careful of who it's coming from and why. Allies can be a very powerful thing with Jupiter and Mars.
Crusades, you know, you're going to turn your beliefs into marching orders right now. Passionate advocacy, moral courage, the willingness to confront your own shadows or or your your shortcomings that's good. But also, well, and and themes of victory and recognition, especially for Leo, the desire to compete, win, prove yourself, pretty strong Here, leadership. That another, yeah, other other strong things here.
Let me see my list. Yeah, crusades, beliefs, allies, victory, and then excessiveness. That's the one I was looking for. So, enthusiasm can produce that overcommitment, or again, overpromising and underdelivering, extravagant spending, unnecessary risk taking, overly ambitious, inflated ego, and a sense of strength and pride that's overwhelming. Might makes right, and any kind of bullying, and bluster, and bravado, those would be things to be careful of.
I think we did a pretty good job here. What do you think? And if you don't like it, then screw you, man. Just kidding. I'm I'm having fun with this one today, guys. I I feel like we're going to be visiting this with another added layer of the South Node. Now we combined South Node and Jupiter yesterday, so take a look at that if you missed it, because these three are all coming together.
And then we've got that interesting layer of Venus direct morning star in our own bound in our own sign, really powerful Venus, contributing through a sextile to this combination of planets, so she'll add some diplomacy and tact and grace, and I suspect help dampen any of the overly heated elements of Mars and Jupiter in this fire sign. All right, that's what I've got for today.
Hey, speaking of speaking of classes, check out our program. It starts on November 14. You still have time to enroll. Don't forget, you can use need-based tuition if you need a little bit of help. We want people who want to be there. So, if that's you, check out what comes next. We'll see you again next time. Bye.
