There are moments when the mind stops circling a problem and simply opens. This week brings one of those junctures—a Mercury cazimi in Pisces, when the planet of perception passes through the heart of the Sun. In the ancient world, this was understood as a rebirth for the mind. But what makes this particular reset unusual is who arrives to greet it.

Jupiter, exalted in Cancer, stands perfectly still at this moment, preparing to move direct after months of retrograde reflection. The two planets meet in a water trine—the most harmonious of aspects—restoring coherence to things that have felt fragmented. You might notice over these few days that overthinking begins to quiet. In its place, something else emerges: a healing conversation, a creative impulse that speaks in images rather than arguments, a decision rooted not in external approval but in deep interior trust.
There is a kind of knowing that arrives only after thought has exhausted itself. When Mercury reaches the heart of the Sun, the mind stops circling and simply sees. With Jupiter watching from its place of exaltation, this seeing becomes more than insight—it becomes wisdom, emerging not through analysis but through the quiet restoration of faith in what you've always sensed to be true.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
A look at Mercury Retrograde moving into the heart of the sun. That's its cazimi moment, which is a kind of reset for the Mercury cycle. What's interesting about this particular retrograde cazimi moment is that it will be connecting both the Sun and Mercury with a trine to Jupiter, as Jupiter turns direct where it is exalted in the sign of Cancer.
So this is a very unique and very empowered Mercury cazimi because of the very positive connection to Jupiter at a pivotal moment in Jupiter's own cycle, while Jupiter is in its best possible state, so to speak, in dignity terms, exalted.
So we're going to take a look at that today through just a quick list of five things to watch for. Before we get into it, as always, remember to like and subscribe, share your comments, your reflections. Where are you at right now in life and all these big transits? You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website, that's nightlightastrology.com.
Just a couple of reminders today, a few promotions before we get started. First one is tonight at the New City Center in Minneapolis. If you are around and available, we have an in-person meditation and yoga group that meets up at the equinoxes to talk about the energy of the equinox or solstice. It's free.
Go to In-Person Events under the Events tab on the website. Scroll down, you'll see you can RSVP for free from 6 to 8:30 tonight at the Grapevine Collective, which is located at the New City Center in Minneapolis. It's been a lot happening here this winter in Minneapolis, so it'll be nice to get together, do a little meditating on the upcoming Spring Equinox, be in community together.
We've got some tea and snacks. So just RSVP. Let us know you're coming. Bring a friend, hope to see you there. The other thing I want to mention is, if you go to Events, you'll see next week under Live Talks. I'm giving a talk on the first house. You can check that out. If you can't make it to the live talk, of course, you'll get the recording.
Also, every single day at Nightlight in the morning, you can join us for daily quiet time. That's Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. Eastern. And then Sundays, we meet at 11:30 Eastern for Silent Sundays, where we do a little group processing in addition to the meditation. So some nice things there to check out.
Hope to see you at one of our meetings soon. It's a great way to pair meditation with your study of astrology. So hope to see you guys there. All right, let's take a look at the real-time clock. I am weirdly like, usually there's zero time constraints on me. But today is going to be a briefer episode, because I have this weird time constraint that popped up on my day today.
It really doesn't happen to me, barely ever. But anyway, you'll see that. Here we are, Friday, March 6, and Mercury's retrograde is about a degree away. But if we fast-forward this one day, well by tomorrow morning, the cazimi has taken place. So we're talking about something that will happen today, by tomorrow morning coming through exactly.
If I speed this up just a little bit, you'll see that the two planets get together in the exact moment of cazimi. This is two in the morning, tonight into tomorrow, right? So a lot of people in the US are going to be sleeping when the exact thing comes through. But yeah, the cazimi is separated by tomorrow morning, so you could think about this as something taking place today.
The other thing to notice, though, is that as these two planets are coming together, the sun coming in has just trined Jupiter, which means Jupiter is about to turn direct. That always happens in that sequence, and then Mercury's retrograde will connect with the trine to Jupiter, and that trine will take place by Sunday.
So the trine is taking place as Jupiter turns direct. At the beginning of next week, we'll have some coverage of Jupiter turning direct in horoscopes, in fact. So what I have today is a list of five things to watch for, given that this Mercury cazimi is taking place as the Jupiter direct station is happening and is the host and so forth.
So five things to watch for, always, in no particular order. You could watch for these things today through the weekend, really, as well as more coverage on Jupiter turning direct next week.
First is that anytime a Mercury cycle resets, we have to pay attention to what kind of Mercury we're dealing with, because it'll tell us a little bit about what's being reset. Mercury cazimi will often mark the rebirth or resetting of something that's mental or rational or intellectual or perceptual or cognitive. In Pisces this tends to occur because we've accepted something overwhelming, or we've surrendered or found compassion or forgiveness or empathy, or there's something very sensitive and emotional or even spiritual that's touched our hearts or that's reached a point of, like with Pisces, it's often like a release or a space of, rather than contraction, of finding flow.
And with that comes a realization that may reframe something that was perhaps confusing or being worked on a deeper emotional level through the retrograde. A shift from over-analysis to intuitive knowing, for example, or an insight that comes through prayer or meditation or quiet reflection time in our group, for example, or dreams.
And anything that's been rigid or controlling that just loosens up and trusts, or a more compassionate understanding of something. Watch for this kind of reset to take place that feels like an emotional, spiritual moment that has the power to kind of readjust.
Number two is healing conversations, or let's call them forgiveness or reconciliation. So this water trine with Jupiter almost takes us back to the Grand Water Trine from the fall of 2025. Water trines can restore coherence and they can soften things that are hard. So a healing conversation, or just a heart-to-heart with someone, resolving something that's maybe been lingering.
Maybe just emotional honesty or greater emotional depth or vulnerability again. Forgiveness, given or received. You could receive some piece of news that feels relieving or restoring or healing. There could be repair work done in families also. So these are all things to watch for, because there's not really a better combination of a Mercury cazimi, which can be very illuminating and enlightening, in a water trine to Jupiter turning direct, to let something go and heal the past.
Number three on my list would be renewed faith or clear vision. So the Mercury cazimi will often fill us with insight and revelation, because Mercury, the mind, is kind of at the heart of the higher mind in the sun. The sun rejoiced in the ninth house, traditionally, which is the place of higher wisdom and higher dharma, understanding of higher reality.
And the sun was really the center of the planetary world, in terms of what planet represented the world of the higher forms or archetypes themselves. So when Mercury is at the heart of the sun, there's often a sense of understanding some pattern, or understanding something of a higher order of truth, or a higher understanding.
And everyone knows what a moment like this is. We call it an epiphany, or something like that. But when you have that, and it suddenly clears your vision about the future, or it helps you develop a coherent philosophy, or it helps you restore faith where maybe it had been injured or doubt was casting a shadow over your mind, the big-picture thinking of this combination is really special.
It could be some kind of philosophical shift, or even just a feeling of good news or encouragement that's coming, or a sense that the tide is turning positively. So watch for those things over the weekend.
Now, number four on my list would be creative or poetic inspiration. So with creative or poetic inspiration, we're thinking about both Pisces and Cancer being very romantic signs, and we think about them as emotional signs, but water is also the language of the poet, the poets and the priestesses and anything that is otherworldly, creative, and imaginative kind of come together in placements like these.
And so sudden creative downloads or writing, teaching or speaking that has more emotional impact or fluidity, emotional truth that is just flowing out with kind of mystical or otherworldly eloquence. There could be symbolic or mythic themes appearing in your life through synchronicities or being expressed in your work somehow, or just an increased or heightened sensitivity to emotional nuance or to beauty or music or sacred experiences or rituals.
Mercury is not the type of planet in Pisces to speak in hard, analytical, rational data. It tends to speak more in the language of image, myth, feeling, metaphor, poetry. It's a very imaginative space for Mercury. To speak something that may have rational impact, but has to speak in this language. So keep that in mind.
Number five and last on my list is going to be decisions that are rooted in trust or faith, or we might even say the heart. When you're ready to, because the connection to Jupiter in Cancer is also such a wise planet, a planet that was related to wisdom. So a decision or an understanding that's rooted in a more mature, wiser place, in yourself or in a situation.
And when you choose to care for something, connect to something, find compassion for something, rather than criticize or judge or get involved in power struggles, when you move forward, but you move forward in a way that is about opening your heart and allowing yourself to be more vulnerable in a moment of moving forward.
When you place greater trust in your intuition rather than external approval, right? It's just "I have to trust what I'm feeling and sensing." Acting from a space of faith rather than a space of fear. This is the water trine with Jupiter and Mercury supporting one another, which is like the two hemispheres of the brain working together in a way that's very emotionally intelligent and faithful and optimistic and fertile and creative and imaginative.
So watch for the integration of these energies, which represent wisdom and maybe even a development or growth in our intelligence. But they're doing so through very felt, instinctual, embodied kinds of channels.
I mean, remember, again, this is a kind of cognitive, mental, or even perceptual reset that's supported by the buoyancy of Jupiter in Cancer. A kind of restoration of faith or compassion or care or concern or emotion. So it's a really powerful dynamic, and the fact that Jupiter is turning direct again is something we're going to cover at the start of the week next week, along with some horoscopes.
So we'll be spending even more time on the Jupiter direct part of this, because that's an even bigger piece to talk about, really, because it dates back to November in terms of what Jupiter is doing. So just a few things there.
I apologize that I'm on a, like I randomly had this thing that came up, and basically an appointment that I have to make, and the only possible time was right after this, and the way that my day is going with everything else I have going on, I don't have any other time to record. So it's like, shoot, I've got a pretty narrow window for recording today, which I almost never have happen to me, because I always set a good time.
But anyway, this is, I'm recording this during Mercury Retrograde, so of course, of course, something would come up. But anyway, I hope that this gave you something of value today to end the week. Of course, we've got weekend content to come, and I hope to see you tonight in Minneapolis for a really nice meeting.
I think it's going to be great to just heal and process a little bit of the collective events that have been happening here in our cities. So if you're in the area, I'd love to see you. My wife will be there. It's going to be a really nice evening. A lot of lovely people in this community that have been coming out to these events. So yeah, we'll hope to see you there.
And I hope you all have a great weekend. Take it easy, everyone. Bye.
