What if the thought that won’t leave you alone, the sudden glitch in your day, or the peculiar idea that shines like a strange stone on the beach, isn’t an interruption—but an invitation?

In this episode, we explore the moment Mercury in Aquarius squares a stationing Uranus in Taurus. This isn't just another aspect; it's a symbolic handoff. As Uranus prepares to leave Taurus and enter Gemini for a seven-year stay, this square acts as a preview, a glimpse into the themes of mental liberation and cognitive revolution on the horizon. It’s a call to notice what uniquely shocks, disrupts, or reorients your narrative.
Often, we wait for collective, obvious signs. But the most profound shifts begin with a personal, almost private, recognition of what stands apart from the ordinary. This celestial friction asks you to legitimize the odd detail that catches your soul’s eye—the mental static that might be trying to carry a signal, the last lesson in a long chapter of your material life, or the radical idea seeking a practical form.
The most important disruptions are rarely the loudest. They are the peculiar, personal shocks that don't need everyone's agreement to be valid. When you allow the odd stone that glimmers for you alone to rewrite a piece of your story, you are not just observing astrology—you are collaborating with it, turning cosmic friction into the raw material of character.
What to Watch For:
The personal "shock" that reorients a hidden narrative.
Mental friction as a carrier of signal, not just noise.
Final reflections and releases as Uranus concludes its Taurus chapter.
Early whispers of Uranus in Gemini’s seven-year journey of mental innovation.
The vital tension between a revolutionary idea and its grounded, practical embodiment.
This video is a guide to navigating this potent threshold with awareness. By understanding the archetypal landscape, you can meet this moment not with anxiety, but with a curious mind, ready to translate celestial patterns into personal clarity and purpose.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we're going to take a look at Mercury in the sign of Aquarius, making a square to Uranus and Taurus. This is a really interesting square because Uranus, in the sign of Taurus, is stationed right now it is going to turn direct after this station move into the sign of Gemini, where it will then be hosted by Mercury for seven years.
It's interesting to me that the square most present during Uranus station is a square to its next host, Mercury. It's a bit like mercury is handing something over or Uranus is handing something over to Mercury. Either way, this is a really nice moment to start thinking about the upcoming themes of Uranus and Gemini. It's, I think, a little bit of a symbolic foreshadowing moment.
And so we're going to explore it with five things to watch for today, and I'll give you the timeline and break it all down from that perspective as well. So before we dive in, remember to like and subscribe, share your comments, your reflections. It's always good to hear from all of you. You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks as always on the website, which is Nightlight astrology.com, when you are over on the website, just a few things to promote today. We'll head over there first.
First thing I want to remind you of is that we are in the midst of 40 days of quiet time, little meditation gathering that we have every single morning. It is at 8:30am Central, 930 Eastern. If you go to the events page, click on silent Sundays. We're not just meeting on Sundays anymore. It's silent every days for 40 days here during one of the most intense astrological periods of the year.
I thought, Look Saturn, Neptune, conjunction and Aries. Great time to actually start a spiritual practice. The clay is sort of wet, and then the kiln is ready to fire it up and make something beautiful, something that will last. So we're doing this also just because it's a lot to process the events of the world right now. So good time to regulate the nervous system every day with us.
And then on Sundays, we meet at 1130 Eastern 1030 for 30 minutes of meditation, followed by nice group processing session. All that's free. You just join the Zoom meeting right here on the silent Sundays tab, and the passcode is right there for you to join as well. So just something from me and Nightlight to all of you as a free offering.
Go to the events page. Click on live talks, you'll see that in this month of February coming up here, I have a talk on the 19th on psychedelics and astrology. Why they so often intertwine. That is going to be something you can register for. And if you can't attend live, you'll get the link the recording afterward.
The other thing that's really important is we have about just less than 20 spots left on our Oracle within retreat to Mexico in June. That is going to be an awesome, immersive, hands on experiential retreat meant to help us kind of fine tune our relationship with oracles, or the oracular presence and intuitive capacity that we have as readers or students of astrology. So check that out. We have spots left.
And then there's need based astrology readings. I do horary readings. Check those out on the book a reading tab. Those are affordable, tiered pricings for the readings. So make sure that nobody's priced out of a reading. Our courses, year three, course starts in February master class on the deccans just started. Guild has just recently started. Those are things you can still hop in on, not too late to join.
All right. On that note, let's turn our attention to the real time clock, and let's take a look here. So today, Wednesday, February 4, we can see that the planets are because there are so many planets been traveling together. When one makes an aspect, then they all make an aspect, and we're about to go through all of that again. We went through that with Pluto in January, and now we're going through it with Uranus, and you can see that by tomorrow, Thursday, February 5, Mercury will have gone through the square to Uranus in Taurus.
Now that Uranus and Taurus is stationing, if I back this up to today, you're going to notice that there's a little s that pops up above Uranus. If I advance to tomorrow, it's gone, which means that the aspect most present at the turning direct of Uranus and Taurus is from mercury. What makes that so interesting is that if we speed this clock up just a little bit, we're going to notice that it is Uranus moving into Gemini, its next movement, where it will stay for about seven full years.
That takes place on April 26 thereabouts. And so here we are in February, just a couple of months after this turning point for Uranus. Uranus will enter Mercury's sign, I think. What makes that really fascinating is that now we're thinking of this square a little bit differently. We're thinking of the square most perfect, the aspect most perfect during Uranus, change of direction, its final push forward in Taurus as it heads into Mercury's temple, is actually coming from mercury.
This is a kind of foreshadowing or handoff moment, you could say. And I have found that these moments will often give some very significant clues or hints as to what some of the themes or topics of the subsequent transit will be about. In this case, Uranus into Gemini, and we're going to do horoscopes on that. There'll be lots more content to come with Uranus into Gemini.
What it might mean there are going to be some really interesting Trine this year, July and November, from Uranus to Pluto. So there'll be so many angles that we have of approaching the meaning of Uranus in Gemini. But for today, what I want to give you is a list of five things to watch for given just that simple archetypal combination of Uranus, of Mercury in Aquarius, squaring Uranus and Taoist of Uranus. That's turning direct.
Give me just one second here as I change, have make sure my audio Okay. There we go. I was getting a message about my audio. All right. So first and foremost on my list. Here we go. Sorry guys, getting my my screens got all jacked up very it's very Mercury Uranus, actually, first thing on my list is our shocks that rewrite the narrative. And that's actually the title for today's talk as well.
But because Uranus is station. The kinds of things that happen around a planet's change of direction are often more significant, not more significant, as in they are they mean more than anything else, but more significant in terms of how much they stand out to us. It's interesting. What draws our attention like when you're when I watched my girls, you know, we, last summer, we went up to Lake Superior, up in Duluth for a little family retreat around my birthday, and the girls were gathering stones on the beach.
They were collecting rocks, looking for agates. So as they were doing that, I was just thinking how interesting it is to watch, you know, looking at a stone filled beach like which one catches your eye, and it was so interesting to see my girls having completely different things that caught their eye. The reason that I'm using that kind of image as a metaphor here is that the shock doesn't necessarily have to be collectively agreed upon as like what what stands out to you and has this way of speaking and being very luminous and interesting, does not have to be a collectively agreed upon most special, most powerful kind of event.
In fact, that's what I love most about mercury and Uranus, is how peculiar something may be, how interestingly specific and unique that something may stand out or speak to you, in other words, right now, that is disruptive or interesting or stands outside of your usual framework, or that breaks up an existing framework, rather than fits inside of it. But that doesn't have to mean that it looks like something. Everyone would say is, you know, equally shocking.
It's about a surprising break out of a familiar habit or structure. And this has the power to reorient something right now, subtly, or begin a process of reorientation that's going to gain a lot more power as Uranus eventually enters Gemini in late April. So it could be a slight, you know, noticing something, or being surprised by something, that reorients a little bit of your values, or changes something with respect to your material assets or resources or ideas that change your relationship with your body or with material habits.
That's very air to earth, for example. So whatever it is, it's a little stone that stands out to you on the beach filled with stones, and it has something to say. It has a power to speak and a power to reorient some narrative in your life. Think about it like that. I think that may help, because sometimes people go, Well, nothing was super shocking. Well, according to who you know, we also what we define as interesting and peculiar and magical and somewhat chaotic but important is so unique and, in fact, legitimizing what we see and feel and experience as unique as part of the way that we actually allow Uranus to become more vocal in our lives.
It starts by sort of saying, I'm going to let. The odd thing that stands out to me be important anyway, the number two piece of my list today is mental friction that can be not just problematic, although Mercury Uranus can certainly show up as mental friction that's chaotic and disruptive. But a lot of the times, the mental friction that comes with mercury Uranus dynamics is acting as a signal.
It's like something beeping on the radar that's trying to get our attention and communicate something to us. But we may 1 only be able to see or feel the level at which there is friction or static, but if we listen a little bit more carefully to what, at first feels just like anxiety or overload or agitation, mental friction, that there's something, there's something that wants to catch our attention, so we sometimes have to, you know, watch for restlessness and irritability.
I can't think straight. The internet's breaking down. You know the the little breakdowns of communication or technology, but they are often like Trojan horses trying to sneak in other forms of information or convey different kinds of lessons or teachings. So watch for the the sense that something is staticky or disruptive kind of and stick with it. Be patient, because there's probably signal beneath it or within it that has something very clear and important to say, but it has to somehow interrupt the normal way of perceiving for it to really be felt if it communicated itself in everyday logic.
In other words, it would be easily dismissed. Uranus and Mercury don't want ideas that can be easily dismissed because they're normal, ordinary ideas that just compete with others and habit can quickly chuck them out because they challenge habit. No. The way that mercury Uranus conveys its most important ideas is typically through a kind of magical chaos that perturbs our way of thinking. But if we sit with it, that perturbance eventually becomes its magic, and you have to be kind of patient with it.
All right. Number three on my list are Taurus receipts, because this is announcing the end of Uranus. Stay in Taurus. Watch for, I don't know you could call it final exams. Sometimes we like to jokingly call these things end level bosses. There's a bunch of squares coming up to Uranus and Taurus. Here we're going to have Venus the sun Mars. There's a solar eclipse that's going to be happening with some configuration to Uranus.
So the last lessons of Taurus are worth watching for right now, long standing material patterns that need to break open or apart one last time, reflections on things that are very physical, monetary that have to do with the material body or the material world, or material assets, all very Tao Rey and pleasure and sensuality, things that relate to a feeling of material stability. There's some last changes that need to be made, some ideas that may inform one last little Torian revolution.
And also a sense of, you know, where have I been? What have I? Well, you know, what did i What did I get out of all of this? So good time to be reflecting on some in the whole sign house of Taurus right now. Number four would be chaos. And genius in coming because, because mercury is going to be soon hosting Uranus for about seven years, I see this square as like a sneak preview or trailer for the movie that's about to come up.
So this is a really good time to start thinking about the transition from Uranus in the whole sign house of Taurus, into the whole sign house of Gemini. You can watch for signals around things like, Well, okay, first of all, anything that starts interrupting patterns or systems of thought or information or technology or ideas that you start to see sudden changes happening in terms of how people think or how you're thinking, how people learn or teach or speak or connect, little fractures in consensus reality that have to do with the discourse or how we speak or think or communicate, how we argue, How we debate, if Taurus was about shaking the material level of things and reorganizing some level of very physical, sensual reality, Gemini is going to be about shaking the mental cognitive level, and you may notice some shift from very earthy and practical and sensual and embodied to something more mental or cognitive.
Negative taking place around this square, which is almost like a preview of the kind of chaotic, magical genius of Uranus coming into Gemini pretty soon, number five would be radical ideas and very practical consequences. Look, there still are few more months of Uranus in this earthy sign of Taurus, the square from Mercury could generate some some very original thinking and original ideas. That's very Mercury square Uranus in general, no matter what the signs are.
But as these lines meet, it could be that there are some brilliant ideas, but they require some really earthy, practical, substantive grounding, or incorporating or integrating, the tension between something that's very innovative, and Taurus is constant concern with sustainability, or a grounded sense of what can endure and last and provide ease and stability. A question right now might be, well, great idea, but can this idea live in the body? Can it live in the land? Can it live in the economy? It's, it's where theory meets the material world.
And not all ideas are going to survive that contact, which can also be, you know, starting to or, like, one last, one last piece of saying, Good ideas need practical, earthy embodiment. Also, I think that this is about what's going to start defining the next seven years for Uranus, what kinds of disruptions, shocks, changes, revolutions, Promethean light, bringing activities will start to take place.
So I really do think it's a great time to consider where Uranus and Taurus has been, and start anticipating through this square where it may be going as it enters that next house in your chart, this contact really is like a trailer. So anyway, just a brief video today giving you some practical things to watch for. The square comes through tomorrow, so we'll be watching for that, and then, because the square from Venus to Uranus comes through over the weekend, we will be looking, we'll be looking at that as well on the channel, and we might do just a bit more preview, previewing of Saturn entering Aries and Saturn's conjunction to Neptune, trying to kind of scatter some of those previews in when there are little lulls, because we need a we need to, you know, really deepen our meditation on that aspect, since it is arguably the biggest aspect of the year.
So but I'm going to think on it. We'll see how the list, the daily listening, the daily meditation, has always contributed to the directions that I take week by week. So if you want to come, come join me every every morning, we've been meeting up. It's been really sweet. Nice way to start the day. I hope to see some of you there. Otherwise, hope you're having a great day. We'll see you again tomorrow. Bye.
