I often contemplate how the great transits shape our lives. Today, we sit with Pluto stationing direct in Aquarius.
This is a significant astrological moment. I have traced its path for you, a map of where this profound energy has already traveled in your chart.
Rather than a simple forecast, I offer reflective questions. A horoscope for each rising sign designed to help you uncover the deep, Plutonian work already unfolding within.
We will explore the whole sign houses, as the ancients did. This is an invitation to understand your soul's evolution through the lens of Hellenistic astrology.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we're going to take a look at Pluto turning direct in the sign of Aquarius. I'm going to track out for you the movements that Pluto has made into Aquarius by direct and retrograde motion to date. So you have a little overview of where it's been already.
And then, given that Pluto is now going to turn direct in Aquarius, we're going to review your horoscopes for the whole sign house, location of Pluto in your birth chart. And by doing this, I also hope that it will give you some chance to reflect on where you've been with this transit already.
These big, slow outer planetary transits can have a slow cumulative effect. And so I've designed three questions for each rising sign today to ask yourself and reflect on given the whole sign, house, location of Pluto in your birth chart. I hope you'll find these useful.
And again, I'm always trying to find creative ways of surviving horoscopes, so making them very beneficial for you at the same time. So I hope that you will enjoy this before we get into it, as always, remember to like and subscribe. Please turn on the notification bell for updates.
That really helps people to get notification from YouTube that we've got a new video, helps our viewership overall. You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website, which is Nightlight astrology.com
we're seeing if we can get to 100,000 subscribers on the channel by next summer, sort of slow, progressive goal that we've set for ourselves here. Hope we can get there. When you go over to Nightlight astrology.com, click on the events page. Go to live talks. This month, I'm giving a talk on the second house. That's October 23 so you want to learn more about things like money, resources and the cultivation of those things in your life. Check this talk out. You're going to love it. You get the recording. If you can't attend live go to the Courses page, click on first year course, our next program, ancient astrology for the modern mystic, our first year course in Hellenistic astrology, begins November 8.
You can find an informational video here on the page telling you everything you need to know about it. Probably everything else is already covered on the page as well. At the end of today's content, that same informational video is tagged on so you can learn more about it, but it's 30 classes on the year with interactive tutoring sessions that happen with our staff in between major units of study.
So that ends up being something like 40 classes on the year. They're all recorded so you can attend live or follow along at your own pace. We've got a ton of supplemental bonus material, quizzes, optional certification at the end, if you're someone who's taking it because you want to practice professionally, we have four years worth of curriculum at Nightlight, and this is the starting point.
You can take as many of them as you want, or you can take the first one, and that's it. We have people that really come in at all different levels of interest and engagement. But it is a fantastic program. I've been saying this lately, but I really mean it. It's the best thing that I've created as an astrologer.
It's what I'm best at as an astrologer, is teaching astrology. So come check this out. You're going to love it. It's a great community space in which to learn astrology. You find the early bird payments at the bottom of the page. They're available until October 24 we also have need based tuition assistance.
So if you're someone who needs a little bit of help to make the program, of help to make the program happen, maybe you're on a fixed or limited income, or exchange rates are high because you're in another country that allows you to pay within a sliding scale that gives you some flexibility, and that's there so that people who really want to study Astrology can do so in a way that doesn't, you know, put you living outside of your means, and we believe that's important for a sacred topic like astrology.
All right. So on that note, let's now turn our attention to the real time clock, and what I want to do first is just remind us of where Pluto has been in its retrograde cycle. So, you know, let me get this going here. So here you can see Pluto sitting at this week, if I take this forward from Monday of this week, October 6.
And I'm going to take it every day through the week. And what I want you to notice is that Pluto sitting at one degree and 22 minutes of Aquarius not moving. So the sub units below that, it's moving on. But that means super, super minimal. The Pluto is basically stopped. And although Pluto's station doesn't happen until early next week, and technically it doesn't start moving forward, and you're not even going to see that first minute of motion until the 22nd 23rd of October, the station to turn direct is occurring this week, and next, we're right in the midst of it right now.
We are literally in the process of Pluto changing directions back into direct motion from retrograde. So because of that, I have cultivated horoscopes for us today that are designed to help us reflect upon where we've been and where we're going with this major outer planetary shift that's happened in the past couple of years in order to do that most effectively.
What I'd like to start by doing is outline for you where Pluto has been in the timeline. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take Pluto back in time, and we're going to see Pluto working its way through late Capricorn into early Aquarius. So here is the timeline. Nine. And I want you to just, you know, jot down these dates if you're someone who likes to track if you're not, don't worry about it. Just let it wash over you.
So here's Pluto entering Aquarius in March of 2023 so you could just put late March 2023 Pluto enters Aquarius now it's at zero degrees Aquarius when it turns retrograde in May of 2023 and it's already gone by June of 2023 so we're talking March to June, just a tiny little sliver of Pluto entering Aquarius That was part one.
Pluto is then finishing up in its last horrific degrees of Capricorn, and then it is transitioning back into Aquarius again, and it's doing so in January of 2024 now January of 2024 we're going to see Pluto scooting into Aquarius and turning retrograde again by May of 2024 that retrogradation will then take it backward and out of Aquarius again, late August, early September of 2024 where it spends a little bit of time at that final anaretic degree of Capricorn.
Everyone remembers that. How lovely that was. And then we're going to see Pluto moving into Aquarius to stay in November of 2024 November of 2024 we see Pluto going in direct motion, gets all the way up to almost the fourth degree of the sign of Aquarius by May of 2025 then it turns retrograde.
Now it's been retrograde since the spring of 2025 so we're looking at turning retrograde late April, early May of 2025 it's then come back through the first couple of degrees of Aquarius, and it has done so stationing to turn direct here in October. So the neck, this next forward motion is now carrying us from October.
Let's see where it goes. It's going to take us all the way up to about the fifth degree of Aquarius. That's new degree territory. Always worth mentioning. What new degree it will reach, five degrees by about May, where it will then turn retrograde again. And we have a bit of a pattern. We'll then see Pluto in retrograde all the way until what do you know October of 2026 when it will finally turn direct again.
And it will do so about the same pattern that it it did this year. So that is the overview of where Pluto has been and where it's going. I want to once again, clarify for everyone, Pluto is basically not moving right now. But technically, Pluto doesn't turn direct until about the 15th. Let's give it mid next week. Doesn't matter. I promise you, it doesn't matter for our purposes today.
It's good enough. Pluto's in the process of turning direct right now. And that direct motion, what does it mean? Like? What are good ways of thinking about retrograde in direct motion periods for super slow moving outer planets? I'd honestly say that unless you're tracking, you're not going to notice. That's the truth.
It's the I know. I know it might sound like there should people want easy answers in astrology, like there should be some very obvious thing that classifies the difference between a direct and retrograde planet, like Pluto in a house in your chart transiting. But there's not unless you're tracking it, because it's so long and so subtle, and overall, most people who aren't tracking won't notice a tremendous difference between the direct and retrograde periods.
That's just the truth. You're going to notice more of the house topics and the nature of Pluto combining overall, since the planet entered the house, most people will notice that, and nothing more. But if you are someone who tracks, then what you'll notice is the direct the direct motion often brings in new evolutionary content.
What does that even mean? It just means new experiences that are really dramatically represented by the new planet, in the new sign, in the new house, all of it that Ingress, that entrance into the house, especially the first couple of years when it enters, you'll really notice a shift in themes and topics.
It's like a new timeline has entered your life with a new player or actor on the stage. And these first couple of years, people will often notice but then give it five, six more years, and you'll be like you're so in the thick of it that you forget. Unless you track the forward motion and the Retrogrades.
They can't they come in in a really special way to bring about the they demarcate the difference between new experience and reflection revision, or almost like a processing or digesting of that experience that then refines and crystallizes into insight and wisdom and then the Direct. Period comes around again, and new new material starts coming forth.
That is the simplest way that I know how to explain the difference between direct and retrograde motion of a slow moving planet, broadly speaking, in transit, tracking new experiences in direct motion, reflection, revision, crystallization of insight, digestion, integration of experiences, or sometimes a slow undoing and redirection that happens during the retrograde, the direct motion comes and it's time to start moving forward in new directions.
Again, it really is that simple. I don't know how meaningful any of those differences are. Again, if you're not tracking so whatever. Now the horoscopes that follow, I really feel should be accessible for people, regardless of whether or not you have been tracking or like to do this kind of tracking, or whether or not you notice the kinds of subtle differences that I'm mentioning in the first place.
So what I have done for these horoscopes, which I'm going to put on the screen in a second, is, I have come up with three questions for you to pause and ask yourself right now, given that Pluto is ready to turn direct in a house that it's been working on for a couple of years now, and these are therefore horoscopically specific, reflective questions that should help you continue in the process of Pluto's work in the space of your chart.
All right, that creative. That's fun. All right, so it's because if I have to simply talk about House topics over and over, I want to die. All right, here we go. We're going to take this Aries through Pisces, and I'm going to give you things to think about. So this is for for Aries rising. You have Pluto in your 11th whole sign house, the place of hopes, wishes, aspirations, friends, groups and so three questions to ask yourself with Pluto in this house now turning direct, what collective, cultural, communal shadows have surfaced in community spaces, social circles or friendships in the past couple of years?
What have you learned from them? So thinking right now about the shadows that have surfaced or in the process of surfacing in various social or communal dynamics in your life, and what have you learned from them? This is an ongoing process that is going to continue unfolding in this area of your life.
Second question for you, Aries, folks in the 11th house Pluto. With the 11th house Pluto is how are various hidden or somewhat unconscious power dynamics, power struggles or desires shaping the kinds of people or communities or groups or colleagues or friends that you have in your life right now.
In other words, are you aware of the unconscious power dynamics and desires and hidden bottom lines that are driving who you commune with or what groups or causes are most important? These are the kinds of unconscious Plutonian dynamics that the transit is trying to bring our attention to. Let's say.
Now, last question that I have for Aries with the 11th house Pluto is what new vision for the future is asking to be born through your participation in some kind of social environment. The 11th house is a kind of social arena. And Pluto here in Aquarius may ask you to align your or find the right alignment, so that you are making even some very small contribution to the developing of a better world, of a different future.
These are the things that come to my mind for Aries out there. So those are your questions to consider as Pluto's turning direct right now in that house, the journey continues. All right, let's go forward to Taurus. If you are a Taurus rising, and you could listen to this for your son or rising sign as always, but I recommend your rising.
This is taking place in your 10th house. We had a few years of this. How do I wield power or influence in my workspace or in my public position or role or my vocation, how could I wield it better, more intelligently, more effectively, more wisely, more compassionately. Where does it need to be transformed?
But looking at power in your field or profession? The second question that I developed here for you, Tauruses, what further transformation, what process of transformation is required for your vocation to better reflect your true nature, your true gifts, your true purpose or calling. What further level of transformation is required for your vocation to reflect who you are and what gifts you bring to the world?
Are you ready to take on that transformation, if and when it's required. How is it being required of you? And finally, how might my public legacy or my professional direction be reborn through facing things that I'm afraid of or facing failure or judgment, what kinds of fears or taboo or collective or social professional judgment is directing my presentation in a detrimental way, you know, like, What?
What? In what ways do I need to stop conforming or stop fearing what other people think about me, stuff like that. All right, so some thoughts there for Tauruses to reflect on as Pluto is now turning direct in your career house. Let's go on to Geminis. Here we have Pluto stationing turning direct in your ninth house where it's been through a process over a few years now, the first question that I have for Geminis is, what belief systems have died inside of me, and what philosophies are being reborn or are replacing those that have died or expired.
It is normal for there to be an evolutionary process of our belief. Our beliefs evolve as we learn and grow and experience. Our belief systems reflect the ongoing development of our souls. Number two, how can I confront ideological, religious, philosophical or even moral extremism within myself or in the world in a way that is peaceful and not destructive?
Are there any parts of you that are extreme. It could even be that you're extreme, extremely agnostic, extremely skeptical, extremely atheistic, you know, it's really extreme, anything with respect to beliefs or your mindset. And Pluto here will bring out that extremism and ask for it to soften or become more malleable or open, rather than destructive.
Finally, in what ways can I use psychological, spiritual, physical crises that occur in myself or people around me or the workplace or wherever, as a path to deeper learning, wisdom, spirituality and intellectual freedom, so Pluto in the ninth will often bring about a transformation of faith, belief, understanding, religion, spirituality, philosophy, morality, because of crisis, because of, you know, moments of profound healing or change that we have to go through.
So Pluto in the ninth is like, you know, someone's faith evolving because of a healing crisis. So reflecting now on how have the difficult things that have been coming up in other areas of life, in turn, been informing your faith or beliefs. All right, cancers are next. Cancer. We have Pluto in your eighth house for a few years now, and turning direct this is another turning point for you in that process.
So the first question I have for you is, what fears about mortality or loss are important right now? Fears are not all bad, a recognition of mortality, a recognition of how fragile people are, a recognition that some people in our life may not have a ton of time left, a recognition that there will be losses that we don't always have control over.
Where is a deeper exploration of loss, letting go surrender, death, mortality, where. Are these, these themes or topics prompting change and growth in us? Another one would be, how do I navigate things like power dynamics or the give and take of power or responsibility, or even sharing within relationships intimacy.
So how do I navigate the give and take? The give and take? What do I give? What am I given? What do I need? Where am I needed? How am I needed? Do these dynamics feel equitable? Do they feel healthy? Where am I being asked to open myself more deeply, to become more available to others? Where am I needing to create healthier boundaries?
These are the things that Pluto in the eighth can can bring up. And then finally, what attachments Am I being asked to let go of, what shadows of myself found in the things I am most attached to that are most problematic for me, asking me to grow and be liberated. Right? All right. Cancers for Leos, we have the seventh house, which is the place of love, intimacy, marriage, sexuality.
It is the comma house, the place of bliss and pleasure, interpersonal relationships. So there's been a process happening here. Pluto is turning direct. Now, where are we at in that process? The first question I have for you, Leos is, how do I project my own shadows into my relationships, and how might I take back those projections kind of own them, and therefore transform, heal, deepen, deep in my relationships, how have I projected onto others?
Or the opposite question, same and equally appropriate, perhaps, is, how have I let other people project something onto me in a relationship? Second question, similar, what patterns of control, domination or submission shape my partnerships, my sense of self worth within them, or the worth and value of my partners.
And then finally, the third question I have would be, how can I build relationships that transform me and help me to keep evolving, rather than entrap me and frustrate me. These are things to consider for Leos, all right, so for Virgos, if you're Virgo rising sun, you're you have Pluto in your sixth house, and it's been there for a couple of years.
It's turning direct again right now. A question that I have for Pluto is always about what's hidden, you know, or anytime I approach, try to think of good questions to ask with Pluto transits, they often revolve around what's hidden, what hidden resentments, fears, sense of obligation. What hidden issues around my self worth have shaped the kind of work and service that I'm doing?
You can almost always tell the difference between a healthy sense of service in the sixth and an unhealthy because those that are unhealthy tend to drain and make us sick, depleted, resentful and draw us into conflict and a feeling of misfortune, whereas those that are rooted in something we really care about, we give ourselves to tend to replenish us.
Number two would be, how can crisis, conflict, illness, exhaustion become initiations into the deeper wisdom of my soul? See, the sixth house is a place where what exhausts us becomes our teacher, what fills us up that we have. There's a lot of chopping of wood and carrying of water in the sixth house, but it was filling your cup, if it's not filling your cup, their soul wisdom in knowing the difference and in having to go through things that drain us versus fill us.
What daily habits or routines have to die so that I can feel better, what new daily habits or routines need to come into place so that I can feel better or live with more integrity or advance in things that I'm learning or developing I bhava. All right, let's go on to Libras. If you are a Libra rising Pluto is turning direct in your fifth house, and this is something that's been happening for a couple years now in the fifth house.
So a couple of questions for you to consider. Right now, as this process continues unfolding, how does my desire for joy, happiness, romance, creative fulfillment? How does that? How do those needs right now? How actualized Do they feel that's what I'm trying to ask. So do you feel happy? Do you feel creatively fulfilled?
Or are there fears or inhibitions that are holding you back or placing you into patterns of creative repression, sexual repression, the repression of your joy body? Let's call it. I How might my relationships with children, or my own inner child be reshaped by facing things that are unconscious, what shadows are emerging or asking to be seen or taken seriously through creativity, art, beauty, romance, spontaneity, playfulness, what am I avoiding?
What am I afraid of that keeps me from joy, creativity, all sort of similar. All right, let's move on to Scorpios. With Scorpio rising, Pluto's process has been unfolding in your fourth house. So I have three questions for you here with Pluto trining, direct right now, what ancestral patterns living in you?
Power, secrecy, trauma, like, what's the, what's the, what's the deep, rooted stuff that you have to face right now in order to transform and be free. It's around family. It's around parents, it's around ancestry. It's around the past. Number two, how do I transform the private foundation of my life, my inner life, my inner space, my living environment, anything that's like the the roots of your life that's supposed to provide emotional safety, sanctuary, rest and conjunction, what needs to be done to transform that so that it is a better, clearer, healthier, happier place.
And then finally, what hidden aspects of myself that I don't often speak that aren't often seen? What what inner private parts of me are asking for greater recognition or integration? All right? Sagittarius Pluto is in your third house, turning direct right now a couple of years that it's spent here. First of all, how do unconscious patterns shape the way that I speak, write, think, learn and communicate, just getting in touch with those unconscious dynamics that shape mind, emotions, mental, psychological, verbal impulses.
There's a lot to be learned right now by exploring the psychological or unconscious dynamics of mind and emotion. What power struggles exist in relationship with siblings, peers or kind of like my local cultural ecosystem, this would be especially important for Pluto and Aquarius in this third house. Finally, what disciplines of mind are required right now for me to become more of who I want to be.
There's so much about learning in this house, Pluto can honor in Sagittarians right now the desire to become really good at something or better at something, or better resourced with respect to you know, your skills, your knowledge, your understanding. So what are you needing to learn or develop or cultivate through learning and practice?
All right? For Capricorns, Pluto is in Aquarius, in your second house. It has been there for a few years, turning direct again right now, the three questions that I have for you are what hidden attachments shape my relationship to money and possessions. So how am I being asked to look at the unconscious dynamics surrounding things like money, wealth, possessions and the values around all of those things?
Number two would be see, how can I transform a fear of loss or of not having enough into a greater sense of trust and fulfillment? Capricorns in particular, tend to worry a lot about Maternus. Mental resources. So there may be something here about greater trust and feeling the resources that are there on emotional or spiritual levels, and it's sometimes Amazing how closely a better material security will actually come from working on the level of trust.
First, I always have what I need. I'm okay. I'm taking care of I trust that everything will be all right. And how much more abundance can flow from that mindset. And these may be some of the things coming up right now. And then, finally, which resources or skills do I have to cultivate to serve both survival and soul growth?
Pluto and Aquarius in this house says, let's give you more money, more assets, more resources, more security, and we'll do so by transforming your life in these ways. But also, ideally, Pluto wants us to be in touch with depth and the soul is the deep part of us that seeks acknowledgement in every area of our life.
So how do I both survive and thrive materially while feeling a sense of soul level satisfaction or fulfillment? It's a big question. Most people struggle with that question. Honestly, it's like half of my astrology readings. So Aquarius rising brings Pluto into the first house. It's been there for a couple of years.
Really existential for Aquarians, what aspects of my identity or my character, my personality have to die so that a truer part of me can come forth. Very simple, how do I carry power in my physical, mental or intellectual presence? How might that be intimidating to other people or empowering for other people? How do I carry power?
And number three, what ways does my self image or my body or my health need to be purified so that I can live with a greater sense of personal fulfillment and authenticity? Pretty profound, simple, straightforward, existential questions for Aquarius risings with Pluto in your purse. Now, finally, Pluto in the 12th for Pisceans, it's been there for a couple of years, turning direct right now, I've got a few questions for you, finally, last but not least, right?
How do hidden fears, compulsions or habits of self undoing or self undermining keep me in bondage? This is a great question to ask over a long period of time with Pluto in your 12th house, understanding compulsions and self undermining habits of thought, of behavior, of health, of relationship, can be worked on over a long period of time while Pluto's in this house, in what Ways can solitude, retreat, surrender, contemplation, a little bit of distance from the world.
Create positive transformation in your life. A good 12th house Pluto kind of question sometimes we don't recognize. The solution to a lot of problems when Pluto's in the 12th is to simply find some distance, find some meditative or contemplative distance from the world. Turn off the phone, turn off the TVs, take a walk in nature.
Go on a silent retreat, you know, just create a little space. Finally, how might facing unconscious shadows in any area of my life lead me to greater liberation, or moksha? This is a Moksha house, where is my soul looking for liberation? There are some suffering that's usually involved with liberation throughout the Vedic tradition.
You know, liberation comes when we relinquish attachments, and that's often painful for us, but when done consciously, it can be very liberating and actually relieving. All right. Well, I hope that these guiding questions have been a useful way of approaching horoscopes. Today a really nice time to be revisiting the Pluto transit, as Pluto is in the process of turning direct.
That's all I have for you today. Next what you're going to find is an informational video about the year one program, if you like studying astrology, if it works on your soul, if it's a language, you can't help but think and move through the world in like a fish in an astrological fish tank, taking deliberate time to enter into a community and a lineage where you can learn specific approaches and really immerse yourself and develop Like a coherent way of speaking the language and utilizing craft and technique.
I couldn't recommend it more highly. I think we have exceptional staff, a really good program, really good support. I'm this is what I'm best at. So check out what comes next. Little talk on the year one program, and I hope to see you guys in class soon. Bye, everyone.
