Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today I am joined by my friends and colleagues, Alexandra and Whitney, to break down all of the major astrological transits for the month of June. There are a lot of transits coming up in June. We have Jupiter changing signs into Cancer. We have a Jupiter square to Saturn and Neptune. We're getting really close to Uranus entering Gemini, which will happen in early July. So a lot of major outer planetary changes still coming this year. We'll be exploring, obviously, a few of those for this month.
There's also a lot of just normal, natural, but very dynamic planetary transits happening in this month of June. So we will break it all down for you today in just a moment.
Before we get into it, as always, please remember to like and subscribe. I hope that people consider Nightlight to be a place for the daily spiritual practice of astrology. That's really what I envision this channel to be. If you are not yet subscribed, it helps us a lot to grow when you click the subscribe button. You can find transcripts also of any of these daily talks on the website, which is nightlightastrology.com.
Before we get into the astrology of June, I want to point out a few things happening in June. If you go to the events page on nightlightastrology.com, click on in-person events, you'll see the summer solstice gathering happening on June 21 from 6 to 8:30 pm at the Grapevine Collective in Minneapolis. Just RSVP to join so we know how much stuff to bring. It’s free to join.
Then, events go to Speaker Series. We have our summer speaker series coming up, which is also free to attend—just register to receive the link for the webinar. You get the recording if you can't make it live. We have talks on June 7, 8, and 15 from Gemini, with Brett Marjorie Cottrell and Krista Hamilton. These are all wonderful talks that are coming up at Nightlight. You can check them out there and register.
All of these free events are facilitated through your support of the Kickstarter every year.
Finally, we have our June webinar, which you can find under live talks: Uranus in Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius on June 19. The talk is titled, "When new objects appear in the sky." I think this is a really fascinating outer planetary transit. It’s somewhat rare to see these two planets configured in this way, and in air signs like this, it reflects major changes happening in technology, science, and even things like aliens—it's all on the table for this talk. It’s going to be fun. If you can't attend live, you’ll get the recording afterward.
The last thing to promote for today is our first-year program, of course. Year two in horary also begins in June, but we recommend you start with year one to get started. This is our first-year class in ancient Hellenistic astrology. It begins on June 22. After I sign off today, there will be an informational video about the program that tells you everything it includes, how it works, and takes you over the course website to show you where everything is housed.
This orientation will serve as the best place to get your questions answered, but most answers are also available on that page. At the bottom, you'll find enrollment options. Enroll now—the class starts soon, but we can get you set up just as soon as you're registered. Take advantage of the need-based tuition option if you need some help making it happen. We understand everyone’s financial situation is different, and we don’t want price to be a barrier to studying something sacred.
On that note, I’m very excited to have Alexandra and Whitney back to break down the astrology of June.
Adam Elenbaas
The band is back together. So, what are you guys most excited about for June? Is it mostly Jupiter’s entrance into Cancer? Or do you feel like it might be dicey? What are your general thoughts about the month?
No,
Alexandra Blair
I feel really excited about it. I’ve had a few friends, clients, and people who come in going Jupiter square with Saturn and Neptune. And I’m like, not concerned. Jupiter is so strong, and the astrology of this month has such a potential for optimism and self-agency. I feel excited about it.
Whitney Kranz
I am right there with you. After the whirlwind we've been through this year so far—2025—I think that Jupiter into Cancer is just going to feel like a breath of fresh air. It’s like June is this story of Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune, how they're interacting, and how we’re bringing newness into our lives. So I see this as the start of a fun summer. Let’s do it.
Adam Elenbaas
Totally. I just did a webinar on Jupiter into Cancer—shameless plug—check it out if you want my most focused, deep research on this transit. One thing I was really encouraged by was how much healing there is when Jupiter is in Cancer, especially in places where there has been division.
It’s exalted in Cancer and tends to mend or restore what’s been severed or hurt. For example, in the history of racism in this country, Jupiter in Cancer was involved in Brown v. Board of Education. Nelson Mandela, who healed apartheid, was born with Jupiter in Cancer. These are examples of Jupiter in Cancer acting as a healer, a restorer, a mender—a kind of healing all-mother archetype. I was so excited researching that. It’s promising.
Whitney Kranz
Like Taylor Swift healing the hearts of young women everywhere.
Adam Elenbaas
Exactly. Anytime you have Empress energy—big women leaders, like that rock star matriarchal energy—there are a lot of women with Jupiter in Cancer, too. I thought that was pretty cool.
Whitney Kranz
It was a great talk. I watched it right after you recorded it, and it really prepared me for today’s discussion. So, for those who haven’t seen it, go check it out. I’ve been talking about Jupiter and Cancer similarly—like I did in a year-ahead podcast a couple months ago—and I see Jupiter as the salve for the wounds Mars and Cancer opened.
So, we have a lot to look forward to in that regard.
Adam Elenbaas
Yeah, totally. Oh, go ahead, Alexandra.
Alexandra Blair
I was just going to say I like thinking about this as bringing up some of what you teach in your classes about lunar and solar cycles, and the difference in how they present. For example, a lunar eclipse versus a solar eclipse, or the difference between domicile, rulership, and exaltation.
It feels circumstantial, with a layer of optimism supported by the circumstances and unseen spaces. It’s like we’re all ships rising in the ocean with this transit, and there’s more lunar support coming, which is nice, especially since Jupiter transits in night charts aren’t always so glowingly lucky—sometimes they just amplify things without necessarily being more positive.
The idea that Jupiter will be exalted and supported circumstantially is exciting.
Adam Elenbaas
It will be interesting to trace lunar cycles while Jupiter’s in Cancer. I feel like that’s something you’d do because you’re really good at paying attention to that kind of stuff. Am I right?
Alexandra Blair
Yes, I have a Cancer Moon, so I’ll be personally interested. But even lunar eclipses and Moon transits are hard to track. People ask me how to start tracking transits, and I usually say don’t start with the outer planets—start with the Moon. It’s more accessible. I want to challenge myself to watch Moon transits every day this year.
Adam Elenbaas
That’s been helpful. Our Roots and Spheres program has given me grounded ways to track lunar cycles. It’s often more effective to learn to track lunar cycles than calendar months, because the storylines become clearer this way.
Alexandra Blair
Exactly. It’s really helpful to have accountability partners for moon tracking. And saffron, Ashley, and I are into pairing gemstones and plants with these practices. I used to be reluctant about herbs and gemstones, but now I’m more open. I even took Labradorite to a Timberwolves game—thinking it might bring good luck—and they won the series. I guess I found my superstitious rock.
Whitney Kranz
Thank God you were there, Adam. Now you have to go to every Western Conference Final game.
Adam Elenbaas
Haha, I might! I do divinations before sports games for fun and practice. It’s surprisingly fun to incorporate astrology into sports.
Alexandra Blair
I do the same. I look at headlines and then check the transits. Like today, Brock Purdy signed a big deal with the 49ers. I pulled up his natal and transits—Uranus conjunct Sun, squaring his Mars, opposing Venus. It helped me anticipate some possible outcomes. Like, maybe there’s some compromise or backlash.
Adam Elenbaas
Exactly. I’ve done divinations about the Warriors making it to the finals—some are uncertain, but the first two were spot on. It’s fun.
Anyway, we’re straying from astrology, so let’s go back. Should we dive into the transits for June?
Let's do it. We got a little miscommunication about the stories this month, so they’ll be back next time. Apologies for that. Last month, it was due to childcare. We’ll fix it next month. But here we are, June 1.
We’ll jump to the first segment: “closing statements,” which Alexandra will elaborate on. Then I’ll take us to June 8, which is the first major date on the screen.
Alexandra Blair
Thanks. So June 8 features Mercury conjoining Jupiter at 29° Gemini. Although we’re recording for June, this really relates to the end of the new moon cycle that began on May 26 in Gemini. That new moon was early in Gemini, not near Jupiter, but Jupiter was present there.
This feels like the closing argument of Jupiter in Gemini after a year-long transit. For night charts, Jupiter isn’t always super positive—sometimes it just amplifies. It’s felt chaotic, with lots of ideas but little follow-through, like information overload or mental mayhem.
Now Mercury adding dignity to Jupiter helps. They’re conjoining at the anaretic degree—a dramatic closing statement. From the May 26 new moon, that’s about 13 days, or half a lunar cycle, to reach this point.
A couple days later, the full Moon in Sagittarius will occur. It’s like the last little closing argument for Jupiter, wrapping up this chapter.
Whitney Kranz
I love that. It makes so much sense. It’s like a courtroom drama. Because at the anaretic degree, we’re feeling into what the next step is. Both Mercury and Jupiter will move into Cancer soon—Mercury the next day, actually. It’s a transition. It feels like the moment when we’re ready to close the book and move forward, having remembered a key piece of the puzzle.
Adam Elenbaas
Yeah. I read a book in April called *By Jove* by Liz Green. It’s a seminar transcript about Jupiter, aligned with traditional views, which I found refreshing. She describes Jupiter as related to the ongoing process of defining meaning and purpose—both personal and cosmic. The more we feel purpose ourselves, the more we believe in the cosmos’s teleology.
Mercury, by its nature, is opposite Jupiter—part of a deconstruction of meaning, asking, “Do I still believe this?” or “Why do I think this?” That deconstruction is part of building coherence.
As we approach this culmination in Gemini, it’s like, what have we unraveled or explored? Where’s skepticism? Where’s the questioning? If we’ve been tending to that, it’s reaching a peak now. With both planets moving into exalted positions, it could be a moment of weaving that deconstruction back into understanding and coherence.
Alexandra Blair
That’s brilliant. I got that book too, and I loved how she retold myth and the faces of Jupiter. It’s like a plot twist in a movie—everyone’s in on it, and then suddenly you see the bigger picture. If you choose to be part of that, it’s a powerful inflection point.
Jupiter in Gemini hasn’t had a great time—felt stagnant and stuck, maybe not empowered. But if you want to see it as an opportunity to wink at the camera and feel optimism, it could be transformative.
Adam Elenbaas
Exactly. Looking at the mutual reception between Jupiter and Saturn in their respective bounds, I think this adds support. Saturn in Aries, at its worst, can feel powerless or irrelevant. But with Mercury and Jupiter culminating, there’s a sense of choice—do we believe in optimism? Do we act with purpose?
That threshold of belief might be born from a fertile space—Saturn in its fall, facing its challenges, but also reminding us to value our existence and agency. Sometimes, we just have to make a decision and move forward.
Alexandra Blair
That’s so true. I had a personal experience when Jupiter conjoined my Sun—my son got a stomach bug, and I was laid out for a week. It clarified my feelings about health, both good and bad. It was unexpected but helpful.
Adam Elenbaas
I remember a time after an ayahuasca journey, feeling my path was clear—full of joy and purpose. Then my family’s health issues resurfaced, and I realized that confidence can be challenged unexpectedly. It’s part of growth.
Whitney Kranz
And that’s the tension—light and darkness, hope and challenge. June 15, Jupiter square Saturn and Neptune—big day. Also that day, Mars squares Uranus—possible impulsive reactions, quick responses to unexpected circumstances.
If we’re under the full Moon in Sagittarius later, with the Jupiter-Saturn square, it’s like testing endurance. Building something great requires effort and friction. The new moon in Cancer later this month will be a rebirth—these are labor pains, contractions of creation.
With Mars in Leo squaring Uranus in Taurus, it’s loud, sudden, a drastic change of course. Practicality might require breaking habits or severing ties to move forward—powerful energy for letting go of what doesn’t serve.
Adam Elenbaas
That’s a good way to see it—a pressure cooker. Alexandra, why did you call this section that?
Alexandra Blair
Because it’s full of squares—Saturn square Mars, Uranus, Jupiter square Neptune, and later the Sun in Cancer square Saturn and Neptune. It’s a lot of tension, but also potential breakthroughs if effort is applied.
Mars in its own sign, in its bound, can bring courage and perseverance. If you keep pushing, breakthroughs are possible. Saturn might seem weak, but Mercury supporting Saturn can help.
It’s like a game where a star player carries the team—if effort and resilience are there, progress can be made, even if challenges seem overwhelming at first.
Whitney Kranz
And all these planets in Cancer and the subsequent cazimi—wow. That’s a rebirth of faith and belief, a renewal of hope. The New Moon in Cancer will be super fertile, with benefics like Venus there, making it poetic and romantic. Use that energy—date night, self-care, nurturing.
Adam Elenbaas
And if the NBA Finals go to Game 7 on June 23, that’s under the Jupiter cazimi—could be a city celebrating a long-awaited victory. Maybe a new leader or hero emerges. I even have a fun fantasy about Anthony Edwards, who was born with a Sun conjunct Mercury cazimi in Leo, potentially stepping into the spotlight and winning it all.
But that’s just my projection—divination is tricky, and symbols can mean different things.
Alexandra Blair
Exactly. It could be that for him, but it might also be a moment of integrity or a memorable performance in a loss. We’d need to look at team charts offline to be sure.
Adam Elenbaas
Yeah. What else about this cycle excites you? Before moving to Mercury’s opposition to Pluto at month’s end, let’s reflect on what makes this period meaningful.
Alexandra Blair
I see it as a celebration of the light—like the summer solstice, a quiet, devotional, ancestral moment. Mercury moving into Leo carries that fire of expression, articulation.
There’s also a connection to old traditions—like the Sun and Moon as a pair, sharing rulership or special relationship. The Sun in Cancer with Jupiter feels like a regal, dignified moment. I think about the ancient idea of the return of Jupiter in Cancer every 12 years—linked to kingship and renewal.
That suggests major leadership transitions, possibly involving women’s rights, reproductive rights, or societal shifts—like laws changing, elder generations passing, and new leadership rising.
Whitney Kranz
And with Venus conjoining Uranus in Taurus around the Fourth of July, right after Uranus enters Gemini, there’s a theme of sudden change—like a reorientation or breakthrough, especially around collective health and societal issues.
Alexandra Blair
Exactly. And the summer solstice themes connect to the old idea of the Oak King and Holly King—symbolizing the cyclical death and rebirth, leadership shifts, and renewal.
Adam Elenbaas
It’s fascinating how these cycles mirror societal transformations—kingship, leadership, collective identity. The Sun conjoining Jupiter during Cancer season underscores that theme of renewal and transition.
And historically, Jupiter in Cancer has been linked to advances in women’s rights and societal progress. So we might see new laws, leadership changes, or societal shifts related to these themes.
Alexandra Blair
And with Venus conjoining Uranus shortly after, we could see surprises in public health, social policies, or leadership roles—especially involving women.
Whitney Kranz
And I thought of the pagan Wheel of the Year—Lisa and Susan Chang talk about the Oak King reaching his peak now, and the Holly King beginning his reign. It’s a perfect metaphor for the seasonal transition and societal shifts.
Alexandra Blair
Yes, winter is like Saturn’s domain—challenging, but necessary—leading to growth in spring and summer. This cycle signifies rebirth, leadership renewal, and societal evolution.
Adam Elenbaas
And as the cazimi occurs with planets moving through the bounds of Mars, there’s a harmonious support—Mars in Virgo sextile to those Cancerian planets. It suggests that effort, perseverance, and resilience will bring breakthroughs.
This might be a time to build internal strength and resourcefulness. Even if Saturn seems weak, supporting planets can help empower it.
Alexandra Blair
Exactly. And when Uranus enters Gemini, it will form a minor trine with Saturn and Pluto, completing a support network across the air signs, emphasizing organization, support, and collective restructuring.
Then, Mars opposes Pluto—bringing intense, sometimes confrontational energy. But that can also catalyze necessary transformations—testing our resolve and pushing us to grow.
Adam Elenbaas
It’s a lot of tension, but it’s also an opportunity for breakthroughs. We’re in a pressure cooker, but with effort, patience, and courage, significant change is possible.
Whitney Kranz
And that’s the theme—growth through friction. The upcoming new Moon in Cancer continues that cycle of rebirth, nurturing the seeds of new beginnings.
Alexandra Blair
Yes, and with Mercury moving into Leo, articulating that fire of expression, we’re finding our voice and embracing authenticity. It’s about the power of truth and self-expression.
Adam Elenbaas
And finally, the Sun in Cancer conjoins Jupiter, a moment of collective renewal—possibly signaling leadership transitions, societal shifts, or new narratives emerging.
We might see new figures rising, or existing ones stepping into new roles, especially in leadership and societal structures.
Alexandra Blair
Exactly. And historically, Jupiter in Cancer cycles have seen major societal shifts—like reforms for women’s rights or leadership changes—so this could be a significant period of transformation.
Whitney Kranz
And that’s a beautiful note to close on. This month is full of potential—growth, challenge, and renewal. Embrace the opportunities, and trust the process.
Adam Elenbaas
Absolutely. Thanks to both of you for sharing your insights. Before we wrap, check out Whitney at astro.dot.astro on Instagram, and book a reading at astralarcana.com. Alexandra’s at nine-lives-astrology.com, and she’s doing a Saturn in Aries webinar on June 2 with Sarah Posh.
And don’t miss the Saturn Neptune panel on my YouTube channel, live this Sunday at 11 am Central, featuring some of the top astrologers in the field.
We’ll be back next month to explore July’s astrology, including Uranus entering Gemini. Outer planets keep the action going.
Whitney
to be continued.
Adam
By then, we’ll see how all this plays out—sports, astrology, and more. Don’t forget the solstice gathering if you’re in Minneapolis. After I sign off, there will be an informational video about the year one program. Hope to see some of you in classes soon. See you next time. Bye, everyone.
