What happens when the two most revolutionary planets in the sky begin moving in perfect harmony? You might not have noticed, but Uranus and Pluto are forming a rare series of trines that will unfold across the next two years. While other transits have captured our attention, this quiet yet profound alignment is one of the most significant patterns of our time.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we're going to take a look at the trines that are taking place this year between Uranus and Pluto. They are quickly approaching, and I think we're sleeping on it a little bit. I say that because a number of times when I've spoken to my students, clients, people on social media, other astrologers about the trine, I always hear the same thing. Oh, yeah, yeah, I'm not kidding. It starts that way.
It goes, oh yeah, that's a big aspect happening this year. The reason that we're not thinking about it, or at least in this first part of the year, we haven't been thinking about it, is because Saturn and Neptune really stole the show. Their conjunction in Aries, Neptune's movement into Aries, even Uranus's ingress into Gemini. We've looked at all of those things, but sometimes we sleep on trines, especially trines between outer planets.
This is not one to sleep on. This is one of the biggest transits of the year. So, I want to start looking at it today. I have kind of a raw, real ramble prepared. I just sort of went stream of consciousness, and I feel like occasionally it's fun to do that, rather than just doing my list of five things to watch for.
So today I'm just going to go right off from my notes and everything that I was writing down, and just sort of meditating on, reflecting on this morning when I was prepping this talk. I hope that you'll enjoy it, and that it'll give you some good things to think about. I will also present you with the specific timelines that Uranus and Pluto have this year.
You'll know exactly when those trines are happening, and they actually move into 2026-27 as well. So, anyway, that's our agenda for today. Before we get into it, as always, remember to like and subscribe. We know that some research we've done: a huge number of people, more people watch this show that are unsubscribed than are subscribed.
What that means is that a simple click of the subscribe button, which is free to do, helps us tremendously. You can support the place that you like, that gives you something positive. Give back to it by supporting us in that way. We really appreciate it. Transcripts of any of these daily talks can be found on the website, that's nightlightastrology.com.
I am in the midst of promoting my new book, so go to the shop page, click on my books. My brand new book, The Oracle Speaks, is out. This is a book about the stories that we live, the stories that bring astrology into our life, little by little, prior to our even knowing the language of astrology.
In my mind, astrology is a way that the oracle or the universe speaks to us, and I think that many of us, when we find astrology, go, oh my god, I finally have a language to put around this presence, this spiritual energy and intelligence that I've been feeling my whole life. So on that level, I really designed this book to be reflective of the strange way that many of us find astrology.
I hope you will like it. If you like the storytelling on this channel, I think you'll love it. If you get a copy, you can pick it up on the website. It's also on Amazon, Barnes and Noble. But picking it up from the website helps us a lot, so we appreciate that. Take a picture of yourself and tag us in a story on Instagram.
We appreciate it, helping to get the word out. Also, tell me in the comments, what's your favorite chapter or your favorite story from the book? I feel like all of them are meant to speak to people, and so it's just fun to hear which one really stood out, which one you really liked. Anyway, thank you guys.
You can also check out my first book. Second edition is at the bottom. You can pick that up as well. Go to the courses page. We are in promotion right now for the year one course. At the end of today's content, there's an informational video. You can learn all about the year one program.
Early bird sale is in effect right now. There's need-based tuition if you need that, to make sure that no one is priced out of studying astrology. You guys watch the channel, know that's a really big deal to us. We care about it a lot. In fact, there are a few stories in the book that explain exactly why and where that comes from.
You might find that interesting. So on that note, like I said, at the end of today's content, I'll show you more about that. The last thing to mention is community quiet, seven days a week, free meditation gatherings. We meet, wonderful community. I've gotten to know a lot of you, and just really appreciate it. It's free. Come, come, meditate with us.
All right, that's it. Let's put Necepso up on the screen. You guys know the drill. The Necepso affiliate link, if you want to try out this amazing new software, gives you 20% off your monthly or annual subscription that's perpetual, it never ends. So support the school, support Necepso, astrologers leading the conversation about technology and astrology.
I think that's really important, so that's why I'm supporting them. Anyway, you can see Necepso on the screen here, and what we're looking at is the trine that's taking place between Uranus and Pluto. Now, before I go into my raw, real rant, and just blast you all with my stream of consciousness writing from this morning, I want to just lay out the timeline.
If we go forward a little bit here, we're going to notice that the timeline between the two planets converging in their trine is quickly approaching. We're going to see that they both are on the fourth degree of Gemini and Aquarius by early July. Now their trine then perfects right about here. We're going to go to the exact day of the perfection of the trine.
That's between, let's just make it, July 17 and July 18. Wow, that's a super powerful moment in the year, and people are not taking it as seriously as we did the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, or even Uranus's ingress. Why? I don't know, it's crazy to me. And I don't mean that there aren't some astrologers, for sure, who are taking it seriously.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'm the only one, but there are enough people that I've literally begun the conversation: can't wait for those Uranus-Pluto trines. What? Oh yeah, I'm not kidding. This is where the talk comes from. I have had that exact experience talking to friends, colleagues, students, etc. so many times this year that I realized, yeah, people might be sleeping on this a little bit.
So I think it's important to talk about this. The first trine you can feel in effect, though. Let's give them a one degree orb of separation, and we have them within one degree from early July all the way through early August. Now, when they're within three degrees, you're going to be feeling the effects, right? But let's be super tight with it.
We'll just say early July through early August, phase one. Let's go forward. If we keep going, Uranus will turn retrograde. Its retrogradation will bring it back into the conversation with Pluto, and that's going to happen when they both get on to the third degree here in late November. So late November, and then let's tease this out just a little bit.
We're going to get their exact trine again around November 29, so late November. Now let's carry that out to within about a degree. We're going to give them about a degree that takes us to, you know, mid to late December. So let's say late November through mid to late December, that's round two. Very powerful time, very tremendously powerful moment for these two planets.
But it doesn't end there. Let's continue. Uranus will then station and turn direct. It will do so in the new year, around February, and then the two planets are going to move together yet again. All right, so anyway, you've got to at least laugh at yourself, if nothing else. Now Uranus and Pluto are also trine to each other here at almost exactly six degrees 51 minutes or so on June 15 of 2027.
That's a whole year of these two planets dancing in their close trine. They're not more than a couple of degrees apart the whole time, and this starts pretty soon. We're then going to see Uranus station, turn retrograde, and come back down toward Pluto, and they get pretty close right here again. Here are the two planets getting into their last trine with one another around January of 2028.
And then, of course, Uranus will turn direct, and they'll have one more contact, and that contact will be here. We're looking at about May of 2028. I don't think they meet after this, and my memory is a little rusty here, let me just double check, but no, I think they're done. Yeah, they get pretty close. There'll be ten and nine, but a degree apart by February 29, right?
So it's a lengthy interaction for those two planets. You guys have heard me ranting about this in terms of studying astrology. The reason for this is that, first of all, Uranus in Gemini is great for learning Hermes-based things. That would be the sciences, for example, technology, but astrology is said to be the science of Hermes.
Uranus in Gemini, I feel like collectively, in the next seven years, we're likely to see a lot more public conversation about astrology. I think there already has been. It's a lot like watching the development of yoga in the modern West, studio yoga obviously starting to take off. It's a subject that is gaining some popularity and momentum.
Especially as we're also getting closer to disclosure around larger realities like UFOs, aliens, you know. I don't know what to expect with all that stuff, and I don't claim to have any certainty about any of it, or what has or hasn't happened. But I do believe reality is stranger than we can possibly imagine, as Terence McKenna said.
Having had many, many ayahuasca experiences, and seeing realities that are far beyond, I don't know how else to put it, just far beyond what most people think is real, I have to say that one of the great promises of the Pluto in Aquarius era is that we become broadly more aware of other realities, whatever that looks like.
Reality is bigger than we typically understand or imagine, and part of that is due to survival, or our survival instinct. In order to feel safe, we have to limit. The mind just puts a wall up, and it says whatever is beyond this wall, that's all I can handle, you know. For a lot of people, for example, I think you know the idea that something religious or spiritual is threatened by aliens or other worlds, that is pretty common.
In fact, I ran into that a lot when I was coming out of evangelical Christianity, coming out of addiction, and coming into the broader realities presented through the ayahuasca experience. That experience, when I tried to speak with some of my Christian friends and people I grew up with about it, there was just a wall that went up and said that all that could only go in a bin called drug.
Whatever that experience was that you had, you and the experience are now in a bucket that I label in a certain way, because it makes me feel uncomfortable to have to think about my Christian faith in the scope of a much, much bigger reality. Now, I think that there have been many innovative Christian thinkers. I don't believe it's a Christian problem.
I think it's an imagination problem. You know, I think of C.S. Lewis, who included the planetary symbolism in the Narnia Chronicles from medieval astrology, or wrote the space trilogy about other worlds, and there was Christian mythos running through science fiction for him. I really think that what's scariest to us is that whatever Pluto in Aquarius brings, or whatever the rapid developments are that Uranus in Gemini brings, they will shatter things so completely that we'll have no ground to stand on mentally.
By that meaning, I have some cognitive, perceptual, or conceptual sense of what is real or true. And far from it, I think that the more we know about what is real, the more solid ground we have to stand on, even if it's intellectually humbling. And I believe that's because that's been my own experience, so it's all I can speak to, right?
My own experience when I was exposed to these vaster realities, and especially in altered states of consciousness, ritual use of DMT in ayahuasca brews in the Amazon, these realities, they shatter you mentally in a sense, but you don't wake up feeling like, oh no. You feel like you wake up being like, oh my god, it's more like awe and wonder and reverence.
And if there is any fear, in my experience, typically the fear is like holiness. It's like when you know more about what you don't know, there's as much a sense of curiosity as there is dread, you know. There might be a little bit of both, but I think it's pretty healthy and normal. The reason that I'm talking about it this way is because these two planets have the capacity to really radically shift what we think is real, what we think we know, what we understand as truth.
And that happens in waves and cycles in human history. This is not unique. I'm not talking in my mind anyway about something that has never happened before in an archetypal sense. It's happened many times. The broad understanding that the sun is at the center of the solar system, that's a pretty big paradigmatic shift, to not see the earth at the center.
And there have been many others, but humans are probably at the brink of other such movements that are linked to identity as a species, that are linked to place in reality and in the cosmos. That's how big and dramatic these kinds of airy changes can be. The good news is that a trine typically means that the innovation, the revolution, the mold breaking, the tradition shattering, if there's any of that with Uranus in Gemini or with Pluto in Aquarius, the foundations being shaken paradigmatically, intellectually, etc. are being done in a supportive trine.
That means that there's a sense of being able to integrate, and there's a smoothness and a growing sense of continuity and wisdom that comes through. It does not mean everything comes easily, but it does mean that, like, if you've had a psychedelic experience, when you land with your two feet on the ground at the end of the day, and you go, I learned and I grew, you know what I mean, that's a trine.
It's like a nice journey. And trines are of the nature of Jupiter, which means they generally support the expansion of wisdom and understanding, among other things that trines can bring. But anyway, all of this is just a preamble, because I want to talk about some very specific things that I think could happen under these trines.
One is I believe that we're going to be talking about, or experiencing, the nervous system. We're going to be talking about things like nervous system overload, or we're going to be talking about cognitive acceleration. That could be pertaining to conversations about technology, AI, etc., but I think it's also very human in the sense that we're going to be talking about information overstimulation, nervous system health, and paradigms changing that help us to understand the need we have for nervous system health and regulation.
We're going to be looking at things like where information creates addiction. And I think that we're going to see a lot more understanding about information and addiction, because information consumption can be a kind of addiction. That's why, by the way, this whole channel is dedicated to constantly trying to place the information back into the spiritual container and intention that the earliest astrologers had.
To be in a reflective, meaningful relationship with the cosmos, because we can pattern recognize and see patterning as a way that the cosmos has of speaking. All of that is meant to engage us with meaningful relationship, not keep us just addicted to constant astrological information. But it's this exact kind of distinction that these two planets can bring.
I mean, trauma: we're going to start recognizing that trauma and dissociation and alienation are connected to things like technology and information. We all know that already, but there are thresholds where you know something, and then the zeitgeist changes to accommodate that knowing. And I think we could be at some thresholds like that, maybe not just now, but as you saw over the next couple of years with these trines.
There's a time when everyone kind of more or less knew that smoking wasn't good for you, and then the culture really shifted over a pretty quick period of time, and smoking became significantly less in actual lives. People were actually smoking less. So anyway, not to judge anyone who smokes, by the way, I get it, I was a smoker.
The other thing that we're going to start looking at is this transit can illuminate things like your attention, your awareness, your consciousness is like a premium that people are basically trying to buy. And I think this transit has the power to make us more aware of that and make us more aware of where we place our attention, our consciousness, and our awareness.
I don't know how exactly, but that's something that comes to my mind just looking at these two. All right, well, the next one is the trine is suggestive of a lot of technological innovation that can feel very exciting and liberating, but also very destabilizing all at once. I watched a movie recently. Oh God, what was it called?
It was a documentary about AI, and it was pretty good. I think it was on Netflix. Hold on, let me just look it up. AI documentary, the AI doc, or How I Became an Apocalyptomist. It was interesting. It's about this guy who is seeking to understand what AI is. On one side of the show there were a lot of people who are very pessimistic about AI, and on the other side there were a lot who were optimistic.
They were pretty extreme, like extremely optimistic, extremely pessimistic. And I learned a lot, because most of us, probably you're like me, know very little about AI right now. And I don't want to get into a conversation about AI as much as I want to talk about these planets in relationship to this burgeoning phenomenon.
We're talking about the line between thought and identity and consciousness and cognition and awareness and artificial, and what is real and what is not, thinning. And it's going to do so more and more rapidly. And the idea to me that's very fascinating is that the more sudden and rapid technological things like AI become, the more magical and almost oracular they're going to start to seem.
Not that I'm trying to ascribe divinity to AI, right. It's more like, you know Fantasia? You guys remember Mickey Mouse, and he puts on the sorcerer's hat, and he starts conducting everything. I feel like it's funny, because two years ago, when Pluto first entered Aquarius, I gave a talk where I literally invoked the image of the sorcerer's apprentice, and I said, there's a magic we're playing with, a kind of magic that we don't understand.
What I'm trying to say is that there will be very magical feedback that happens as a result. I'm not trying to say that feedback is AI. What I'm trying to point out is that the interaction between ourselves and a magic, a techno-magic that we barely understand, is going to provide feedback to us in the same way that Mickey completely loses control of everything.
And it's all very magical and kind of funny and karmic, and it's also part of how he learns and grows as a magician who's apprenticing. So I think that's enough of an optimistic and pessimistic spin on the dynamic at once, hopefully that it gets the point across, you know. Technological utopianism is a problem, technological doomsdayism might also be a problem.
The threshold between the two might be this weird space within which we're looking at part of ourselves that we absolutely don't understand, or we're playing with powers that we pretend to understand. And the feedback could become quite magical, and by that I mean synchronistic and patterned and intelligent. And we could stand to learn a lot from that kind of interaction if we're willing to engage with it with curiosity and playfulness and an eye for magic and synchronicity.
Okay, well, I hope that makes sense. Going on, although Gemini and Aquarius are often reduced to mental signs, they are mental air signs. So air in traditional symbolism also refers to things like spirit, animation, and invisible connectivity. Just think about it for a second. There's a very strange way in which I'm recording this. I have no idea how it works, right?
And probably you don't either. Some of you may, but whatever. Shut up. I'm just kidding. But you don't know how this works. I don't know how this works, but it works. There's all sorts of invisible stuff that most of us don't understand, or we leave it to people who are smarter than us to understand. We're like, well, whoever they are, they're aware, and they're inventing all of this stuff.
But think about it: air in traditional astrology represents invisible fields, invisible frequencies, invisible atmospheres, subtle forms of subtle forms of life that are in air, like contagions can carry in air, the breath of the soul, pneuma, vitality, and consciousness, the animating feature of life, ascribed to air. What I love about this, and I said this in the very first video I did on Pluto in Aquarius, look back at my archives and find it right around the time Pluto first entered Aquarius.
What was it? Was it '23? I think it was just for like a hot minute in '23 and then it was '24. Okay. Well, anyway, I'm spacing. Anyway, animism. Here's the paradoxical thing about us starting to engage with questions about how conscious something technological could be, or is. Even if just, just follow me here for a second.
If you have your mind made up, then good for you. But a lot of people are going to be wondering, like very thoughtful, intelligent people are going to be wondering what constitutes something becoming conscious. In Buddhism, it's a question philosophically, like at what point does a small aggregation of grains of salt become a pile, you know? Is it two? No, right? Is it three?
Not quite, you know. But at some point an aggregate becomes something more than just individual parts, and the question of when that takes place and how exactly that takes place is really mysterious to us. So the point is that when we're spending time thinking about what constitutes real intelligence, at what threshold does something become intelligent or conscious, and to what level on what kind of spectrum, all those questions are putting us into the realm of animism.
They're putting us into a realm of conversation about the fact that things are alive, and that making such a distinction between inanimate and animate is itself a theory. We don't think about it because everyone just wants to think of air as mental and rational. But apart from that, think about it: the only reason that we would tend to think of air that way is because of rationalism.
But air existed as an element prior to the complete overwhelm of the rationalist paradigm, you know. So think about it from a space of what air was thought about, how air was thought about 2000 years ago. Air would also be a part of what animates life. It's your breath, oxygen. When you see a dead body, an inanimate life form in a sense, what you're seeing is a body without air.
So air creates pneuma, pneuma creates life. These transits are progressively going to be asking us to think very deeply about a cosmos that is actually alive, and that there are very few things that escape the presence of life. Even animist traditions, even rocks and things that look inanimate, lifeless bodies are treated as life, but different forms and spectrums.
A dead body will be treated as though it still carries an element of life, which is why there's reverence shown toward it, not just discarded. That's not just sentimentalism. It's rocks and rivers and trees. Things that are clearly alive are given far more life than we do, but even things that we would now think of as inanimate are treated as much more animate in the old age of air.
So the other thing that I think is likely to happen is just Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini can create massive collective system upheavals, technological, anything that has to do with ideology, technology, systems and structures, even things like transportation and electrical grids. Anything that carries and conveys collective energies, forms, currents can change rapidly when these two things get together.
The other thing that this is, I think, pointing toward is these energies are very destabilizing, but the trine is very creative and supportive. So the unleashing of an extraordinary amount of creativity also comes through rapid change, unpredictability, and disruption. You're going to see that hit so strong over and over. A lot of the times, what we do is we just go, well, I just feel like it's time to change, you know.
So I need to change. But if you meditate, one of the most important things that you can develop through meditation is the recognition that I'm being puppeteered by collective forces. And I might mean maybe it's time to change, maybe it legitimately is time to change. But an air trine is such a good time to develop a little bit more awareness and mental detachment and objectivity.
Because when these energies come through and you just go, I guess I just have to change everything, and I have to do it really rapidly and really fast, a lot of the times that happens specifically because we have no interior space. Think of air also as air moves through space. If there's no space within, then the air is going to move and shift things like thoughts and structures and intentions.
And that's where, without any interior space that the air moves through, we're just going to be played by it. So one of the most important things you could cultivate right now, and this is one of the reasons that I decided to start the daily meditation group: I swear to God, if you don't have any space inside, you don't have any space to consider, to reflect, you have no sky for the air to move through.
Instead, it's just going to be moving through like a rapid wind moving through a room with lots of flimsy stuff. You're going to think I'm changing. No, you're not. You're being changed by stuff that you can't see. That happens to a lot of us. Now, I'm not saying you should be in control of everything in your life, or that these energies can't legitimately bring tides of change that are welcome and positive.
But the destabilizing quality, the rapid impulsive need to innovate and shift structures can feel very exhilarating. The desire to improvise or experiment, reinvent yourself, but really abruptly, or over and over again. These creative periods can feel so electric, but it's a bit like getting hooked on a second, then a third, then a fourth cup of coffee.
If you have space inside and you're aware of your nervous system and your body, you're probably someone who knows what your caffeine threshold is. Maybe you're good at two cups. Me, I'm just a one cup person. So how do you remain centered? How do you create space within, so these currents of change can flow through, and you have some space in which to reflect and make smart choices?
That's it. It's good that we're talking about this now, because I'm telling you guys, these are like wind storms. They're very powerful. So at some point I think we'll look back historically at some other Uranus-Pluto trines, just to give you some more context. These are questions that came to my mind. I wrote some of them down.
How much change can the human psyche absorb before fragmentation occurs? What happens when knowledge evolves or information evolves faster than wisdom? Are we becoming more interconnected or more disembodied? Can the breath reconnect the mind and soul amid technological or airy acceleration? What invisible forces shape collective consciousness?
How do we distinguish revelation from stimulation? How do we stay human during periods of rapid systemic mutation, and what kind of intelligence is behind or within, or is emerging through things like networks, machines, languages, learning, and different collective fields? So yeah, you know, there's no better time to be alive than now, I guess.
Well, that's what I've got for you today. Stick around, I'm going to tell you more about the year one program next. It's coming up in June. It's an awesome program. I have poured my whole life into making the best possible astrological learning experiences that I can. I think if you're someone for whom astrology is more than just curiosity at this point, it feels like a call, then check this out.
I think you'll really like it. I'd love to see you in class soon. Don't forget, my new book is out. I hope you guys will love it. I poured everything into that book, and it's, I think, the most creative thing I have to say about astrology to date. So I hope you'll check that out too. Take it easy. Bye bye.

Geesh the rambling here is so depressing when I’m just interested in real life happenings – something normal people relate to
