What if the tension you feel in a relationship right now is not a problem to fix, but a threshold to cross? Venus is moving through the final, climactic degree of Libra—a space where harmony meets its test, and where the soul's deepest negotiations surface.
Over the next several days, you may feel the weight of decisions, the pull of competing needs, and the ache of wanting resolution. This is not coincidence. It is the astrology of the heart asking you to become more honest, more grounded, more yourself.
The closure you seek is not about getting it perfect—it is about getting it real. And because Venus will retrograde back over this same ground in October, this week offers a preview of the soul work ahead. Subscribe to stay with this unfolding story, and remember: you are not alone in the questions that matter most.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we're going to talk about Venus moving through the final anaretic degree of Libra. The last couple of degrees of any sign are also typically the bounds of the malefics. We're going to talk about all of that today and consider what that might mean for a very well dignified Venus in her home sign of Libra, but still culminating in a space that can be a little difficult.
Not to mention the fact that Venus will also return to this space through an upcoming retrograde. That makes the closure or final moments of this passage for Venus particularly important because this is coming back. We are going to be returning to this space, and so we're going to look at all of that today, and I'm going to give you a list of things to watch for and a way of tracking all of this out that I think will be very useful.
But before we get into it, remember, as always, to like and subscribe. Give us that thumbs up. Turn on notifications. It's free to subscribe. It really helps us grow and sustain what we do. So we thank you for that. Transcripts of any of these daily talks can be found on our website. That's nightlightastrology.com.
Couple of promotions for the day. When I head over to the website, go to book a reading, click readings with Adam. My readings are back open. Been able to keep up with them at a pretty good pace, so I'm keeping my books open for now. The astrological oracle reading is a reading that really is designed for you to use however you want.
If you want me to take a look at the year ahead in a general way, if you want some general thoughts on your sun moon rising, if you have very specific questions, I think that's best for this reading, like love or relationships or money or career. But whatever you want me to look at, maybe it's sense of life purpose. It's a major transit you have coming up that you're worried about.
Whatever it is, you fill out the form. You tell me what you want to look at. I will analyze your birth chart, your transits to your chart. I'll also include something like the I Ching or Tarot, and include those modes to help me fill out the way I'm seeing things. So it's a really nice reading that you'll get from me. Check that out.
If you can't afford my prices, check out need-based astrology readings with our staff. That gives you some affordable tiered pricing. So hopefully that helps everyone. Go to events and click on annual retreat on September 27. You're going to see right now it's not there, but at the top of this page, by the time you see this, there will be an informational meeting link with a Zoom link to join.
That's going to be for September Sunday, September 27 at about 2:30 p.m. Central Time. We're having an informational meeting. If you want to learn more about the retreat before the early bird sale ends, which happens and the ending will be in October. So this is a good chance to learn more about this training and retreat that we're hosting here in the Twin Cities next August. So check that out.
The other thing to mention is we are just days away from the Audible version of my book launching. There's been a little bit of a delay, so we're almost there. And so very soon I'll be telling you about how you can purchase the Audible audio version of my new book, *The Oracle Speaks*. And then click on events and know that every single day at Nightlight there is free community meditation every single morning.
Prior to me creating content, I've always meditated, prayed, prepped my content for the day. I've opened that space up for community time. It's been really, really nice to share that with all of you. So hopefully, we'll see some more of you there. All right, let's put Nichepso up on the screen, and let's take a look at this anaretic Venus.
So we can see that Venus today, Monday, September 7, is culminating in the final two degrees or so of Libra. That is the bound of Mars, that makes this a little bit of a Marsy transactional space or window for Venus, who likes to negotiate and create balance in the sign of Libra, and looks for harmony. But in these final degrees, may find that some of the harmony is hard won, or there is a little confrontation, or even a sense of something starting to potentially disintegrate or fall apart, or also that there's just an important sense of having to work out, find an agreement through some difficulty.
Now that's going to intensify over the next couple of days as Venus is slowing down, reaching her maximum elongation. She's about to turn retrograde at the beginning of October, so her speed is slower, which means her movement through these final degrees is a little bit slower. So we're going to see that by Thursday, Venus will change signs.
If I take this down a little bit more slowly, we're going to see that the final movement into Scorpio occurs right about here. That's Thursday at about three, four in the morning Central Time. That means that today, the seventh, the eighth, the ninth into the tenth, Venus is culminating at an anaretic degree. Anaretic means the kind of like the killing degree. I don't know. It's kind of a scary word.
But for ancient astrologers, the sense that the final degrees, the final allotments of every sign, an allotment, a mirror, an allotment or an apportionment of fate, is considered to be that's the name given to each individual degree of the zodiac. And so the apportionments of fate at the final degrees of the signs tend to bring things to a place of culmination, closure, resolution. But they're often also kind of tending toward things falling apart.
It's like the end of a season when summer is falling apart and autumn is establishing itself. Falling apart is one way of putting it, a little rugged. But the tendency for life to go through creation, maintenance, destruction, or creation, maintenance, and entropy, however you want to describe it, is natural to the progression of the individual signs, the decans of the signs, the grouping of the signs by three in seasons, the solar year.
That phasal dynamic of setting out from a conjunction, rising and separating, returning. These are cycles and rhythms that speak to the way that opposites work. And so when Venus, who's very comfortable in the sign of Libra, goes all the way through the sign, and then is about to transition into Scorpio, now a Mars ruled sign where the tension is greater for Venus than being in her own sign, that transitional space is fraught with some difficulties and leads Venus into the territory of Scorpio.
Where the work of relational harmony and the work of peace and comfort or ease becomes a little bit more strenuous, but maybe more authentic, maybe deeper and more enriching as well. But not without having to face something or go into greater depth, or maybe reveal things that have been hidden. The transition is in those final degrees of Libra as Venus crosses through the bound of Mars and then moves into the sign of Mars.
So I want to bring for you today five things to watch for. I also have to let you guys know that I'm recording these in UAC week. UAC is, you know what's like the Olympics of astrology conferences. It only meets every four years. It's all of the biggest organizations in the world. So I will tell you that my recording times are a little bit shorter this week because I'm simultaneously recording and prepping and traveling.
So I'm actually having to get a lot done in a short period of time. So this will be a little bit briefer, but I do have five solid things for us to watch for. Now, the first is that we may see that negotiations are reaching a peak, a peak moment where differing parties, whether they are marital or contractual or legal, or collaborative, creative, communicative in workplaces.
That a process of trying to meet differing needs, a process of diplomacy, a process of contractual negotiating, a practice of psychological negotiating, or even sexual and kind of chemical negotiating might be reaching a place of culmination and peaking tension or drama. That doesn't mean things can't be resolved. It doesn't mean things will go badly, but it does mean that the stakes might feel a little bit higher.
And it is probably natural to feel like a little bit more pressure and strain around trying to complete something or bring something to a happy resolution. So negotiations peaking would be common for the first few days of this week. Say again through the tenth, the seventh through the tenth of September. Now the second thing on my list to watch for would be moments of resolution.
Let's just say that the drama is peaking. Well, the final degrees here can be about finally reaching a point of understanding and agreement. Okay, we have this tension, we have that tension. How do we meet in the middle? And we do, and we shake on it. You know, so just because the drama and the tension that Venus in Libra might be ideally trying to resolve, it doesn't mean that you can't find a really sweet landing spot somehow.
It doesn't mean that you can't find a place of greater resolution or completion. It doesn't mean that there can't be a desirable ending or outcome to a situation that has some feeling of peril behind it. The resolution may come though because you have to kind of stick to your guns a little bit, or you have to, you can't be too deferential, and you can't, on the other hand, you probably can't be too aggressive.
So figuring out, am I being too aggressive? Let me just chill out a little bit, or maybe I'm being too passive, I need to be a little bit more assertive. Listen to what the situation calls for, because there is a real potential right now with making just the right thoughtful adjustment that you can come to a real place of solving something or of resolving.
Now, the other thing that comes to my mind is that a common Libran theme is difficulty making decisions. The difficulty with making decisions comes from being able to see an ideal outcome that might be positive or beneficial in multiple different directions. I could see why this would work. I could see why this would be favorable.
Or I could, in social situations, for example, I could see how someone might benefit from this outcome, and it might create greater harmony. Well, I could see how maybe someone would be offended by it, you know, or I could see how this party might be offended. This party might be happy. How do I deal with those competing desires or needs with the role I'm playing in a situation?
And Libra can classically sort of triangulate or end up in the middle of things that you don't intend to be in the middle of. So sometimes the hard choice is to remove yourself from something and let other people figure it out. Sometimes the hard choice is to get real about what your own needs are and what your own stake in the situation is, versus just thinking about what will not rock the boat.
So these are not easy things for Libra, especially in the anaretic space. You're weighing things, weighing options, and saying, okay, what's the best outcome here? What's the best solution? So we make those choices, and then we live with the consequences, and we learn from them. And in a sense, the more we do that, the more we come to recognize that there are seldom ever a perfect choice and a perfect outcome.
There are choices that we can live with and learn from, and most choices are like that. You have to learn to be decisive and do the best you can. Weigh every factor, you know, with consideration and thoughtfulness. But live with the decision, make a judgment, and live with it. And be humble enough to learn from the results and keep going.
In that way, we come to understand that choices are not about being able to perfectly predict outcomes and get everything perfectly right and have perfect foresight. It's more about following our intuition, weighing things rationally, being practical, but also knowing that no one can perfectly foresee everything. Everyone's walking a little blindly. So, hard choices coming in the next four days.
Questions of balance. This is so perfectly Libran. Is this situation balanced? Is it good for them? Is it good for me? Is this balanced financially? Is it balanced in terms of my time and my energy? Is this an appropriate form of energetic or financial expenditure given the return? So, questions that are sort of transactional and about the nature of transactions in our lives—energetic, financial, emotional, psychological—and also questions about reciprocity.
Is this balanced? Is this fair? I don't want to take on a lot more responsibility than someone else that I love, and then end up resenting them. You know, or maybe I'm letting them take on more, and potentially I can see that they're maybe enabling something in me, and then they're going to come to resent me. We can be more aware of the potential issues of keeping balance and peace.
Life is not inherently just about keeping the spreadsheet of transactions balanced. That would be sort of inhuman and objectifying and mechanistic. But it's also not about ignoring them. It's about paying attention to the spirit and the letter of the law simultaneously, and having a feel for balance, and also a clear sense of the quantitative level of balance.
You might say, quantitative and qualitative questions of balance and reciprocity could be more acute in the next three or four days. Now, what I want to say to close is that all of this is going to be revisited. Let's go back to the screen. Let's check out Nachepso for a minute, and here is what we can see. So Venus will enter Scorpio. And then we're going to see that around October 2, Venus will slow down, station retrograde.
Now a lot of October is going to involve Venus retrograding through Scorpio, and then we have Venus on Sunday, October 25. We're going to see Venus retrograde back into Libra. It is then from the 25th of October all the way through right about here, the 29th. Let's call it the 28th, 25th through the 28th of October, that Venus in Libra will revisit the space that it is in this week.
During that time, in other words, we're going to go back and have a chance to look at the material that's coming up right now—the decisions, the questions of balance, the hard choices, the moments of resolution or negotiations or tensions in relationships and how we're balancing them, reaching a peak. All of this is going to be revisited.
Now, more or less, for some people, maybe it's about integration, maybe it's about confirmation. Hey, I really did make the right choice, and now we're seeing it play out and kind of integrate. Maybe you didn't make the right choice, and now you get a chance to redo it. But whatever the case might be, Venus is going to move through that space, and then Venus is going to settle down and station and turn direct by November 15.
Then Venus is going to progress and come back into that anaretic space one more time, around December 1 through right about here, which is December 4. So then we have another patch where once more we come through that final resolving ground of Libra. It's pretty fantastic stuff that's happening. So all will be revisited several more times, and we will revisit these periods on the channel.
What I hope you're equipped with right now is just a sense of knowing the timeline. You can think a little bit more about the choices in front of you, about the resolution that you're trying to reach, the contracts you're trying to negotiate—karmic, spiritual, or worldly, financial, whatever the case might be. You can think about what's being balanced or rebalanced, and you can also think about this as a process that's probably a bit bigger and longer than you might initially be thinking about.
And hopefully, that gives you a little bit more room to pause and think things over. So that's what I've got for you today. I hope that this has been a beneficial talk. Again, a little bit brief this week with my talks because I'm prepping them all while traveling and being at an astrology conference. So it's a very, very busy week for me on the recording side of things.
Even though by the time you listen to this, I'll actually be back from UAC. But there it is. So that's it for today. I hope you're having a good one. We'll see you again soon. Bye.

Thank you so much ,I have gained great insight from this Venus reading. I am Venus ruled rising with moon in Libra. I am retiring from a long term employment in January, a career that spans 26 years of my life. It has been a bittersweet journey, and the most fulfilling job I have ever had. I would have never thought 5 years ago that it could end in such sorrow, and unpleasantness that has completely disrupted my sense of joy, and well-being. This has brought such clarity to my understanding of how we got here and why it is so painful. I am am grateful for this insight, Thank you, for always being a light at the end of the tunnel, Best wishes always to you and your gracious service. Lou
Yikes, so appropriate that I watched this. My moon is Libra 27 deg. I’m in a relationship that is becoming too heavy for my independent nature, and it’s so hard to have to deal with it, end it, or talk endlessly about what’s not working. Makes me tired just thinking about it. And he’s so nice! When V. moves on she’ll be conjunct my Chiron in Scorpio @2 deg. Wonder what will happen then. How nice it would be to get an on the spot reading, guess I’ll just have to experience it. It helps a great deal getting this video though, excellent timing.
