What if the blessings you've been waiting for are already being prepared, quietly, in the chambers of your own heart?
Before Jupiter enters Leo, Venus arrives first – not with fanfare, but with a quiet invitation to notice where pride becomes something useful, where loyalty becomes a law written on the soul, and where the life you're building begins to outlive you. In this episode, you'll explore five signatures of Venus in Leo: pride, legacy, loyalty, royalty, and the solar flare of genuine self-expression. Then, a lightning-round horoscope for every sign shows exactly where this red carpet is being rolled out for the year ahead.
“The original sense of taking pride in something means to have something that is useful that you contain or offer. A farmer with a healthy garden takes pride in the crop – not meaning ‘I’m better than people,’ but ‘I am proud that I have something good, beautiful, useful.’”

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we are going to sneak preview Venus's upcoming entrance into the sign of Leo, and we're going to look at this from the perspective of Venus sort of rolling out the red carpet for Jupiter's upcoming entrance into Leo.
We're going to do some horoscopes for all 12 signs, and I've got a list of five things to watch for given Venus's upcoming stay in Leo, and again it's sort of setting the stage for Jupiter.
So, I think this will be a good episode today, one that can start kind of getting our hearts and minds in the space of Jupiter into Leo. I hope that you'll enjoy it.
Before we get into it, as always, remember to like and subscribe, share your comments, your reflections. It's always good to hear from you guys.

I can't wait to hear what you guys think of it. It's a book that I spent a lot of time creating, trying to tell the stories of how the universe starts speaking with us, the oracle starts speaking with us.
Eventually, through this strange weave of fate, we find our way to a language like astrology, and we go, "Oh my god, not only does it speak, but it has a language." I love this journey. It was really fun to write it. I hope you'll enjoy it too.
Go to the courses page, check out the first year course, Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic. Begins June 28. Early bird registration is over on the 14th of June. That's coming up this weekend.

So anyway let's put Chiron up on the screen, and let's take a look at Venus's upcoming entrance into Leo. So, all right, Venus into Leo, you can see right here, Saturday, June 13, Venus will be in the sign of Leo.
That's coming up in just a couple of days from now, you're listening to this on Thursday, June 11. So we have tomorrow it reaches that anaretic degree of Cancer by Saturday. It's in the sign of Leo.
And then if we advance this, this is what I find really interesting. We advance this one day at a time, and what I'm going to do right now is I'm going to eliminate everything and eliminate everything from our perspective.
Sorry, except for Jupiter and Venus. Okay, there we go. So let's advance this. This is Saturday, June 13, and we're going to see that as Venus gets to about midway through Leo, Jupiter will also enter Leo.
This is Tuesday, June 30, and at that point in time Venus is just about done with its travel through Leo. It'll speed up, and then it moves into Virgo here about July 9.
So, between June 30 and July 9, the two planets actually share space in the same sign. That's after, of course, their recent conjunction in Cancer.
They're still pretty close together in the sky, but in effect, what this means is that Jupiter's or Venus's ingress, right now, the way I like to think about it, just a fun image that came to my mind, is Venus is sort of rolling out the red carpet.
Or you could say Venus is the gown dressing the beautiful lady that's walking down the red carpet, you know, coming in next, the big celebrity is Jupiter, the great benefic, that Jupiter entrance, we're going to do more on separately.
What I want to do now is just sort of look at the whole sign of Leo and think about what Venus might be doing to set us up for this Jupiter in Leo year ahead.
There are five things to watch for when it comes to Venus in Leo, and I can say this as a native Venus in Leo, it's my ascendant ruler. The number one thing that Venus... and these aren't... I shouldn't... this is one on my list, not one in order of importance.
First thing Venus in Leo brings up is pride. Now, pride has an interesting etymological root. Let me read it to you. Here it is. Where is it? Okay, so pride, the Latin root means useful or advantageous, to be of use.
And so you know when we think of the word pride, we often think of almost like an overestimated sense of self-worth, or an ego that's out of whack, or something. You're prideful, meaning the sin of being prideful or vain or something.
But the etymology actually means useful or advantageous. If I think about what makes me feel the best as Venus in Leo, as a native, you know, ascendant-ruled Venus in Leo, it is to have something that in my character, in my nature, is thought of as useful or even advantageous.
Like when I think about astrology, which is obviously a place in my life where I shine as a Venus in Leo, let's say, the YouTube channel, teaching, etc. The thing that gives me a healthy sense of pride is that I have something that's considered attractive and useful, that's considered beautiful and helpful.
And so the original sense of taking pride in something means to have something that is useful that you contain or offer or have that you can take pride in.
A farmer who has a beautiful garden filled with healthy crops that can feed himself, his family, maybe the neighbors, the community, the village takes pride in the crop, not meaning I'm better than people, meaning I am proud that I have something that is good, beautiful, attractive, useful.
So that to me is the healthy sense of pride that Venus in Leo evokes. It can also mean, in old French, it can mean brave or valiant, that to be proud in a true sense, not in an egotistical sense, means to be sort of brave to put something out there from your heart when you're a little bit vulnerable, but to do so bravely or courageously, another way of thinking about pride.
Now the highly opinionated sense of the word can also mean that there's unreasonable self-esteem, maybe that's the shadow. Oh, it's definitely me at my worst.
Let's go to the second one on the list, which is legacy. So I'm going to bring up this etymology: legacy from the Latin verb legare, meaning to send with a commission, to delegate, or appoint by a last will, ambassador, envoy, deputy, or the body of persons sent on a mission.
I think that remember the sun points us toward that which is eternal. This mortal body dies, but the sun rises again, and so the sun carries with it, especially in the season of Leo, where it's the middle of summer, but the sun is steadily dying, the light of the sun.
So, what comes after sunset? Eventually, dawn comes again, and so what lives on beyond our death? What is the life that lives beyond our dying? And that is the concern that this sign Leo has in general with legacy, and Venus finds beautiful and attractive that which shines with concern for something that lives beyond itself.
Now the superficial version of that might be I just want to be famous and never be forgotten, you know, just for being famous or great or powerful or something, but legacy is something that matters.
Loyalty. I'm going to read you guys this etymology: loyal and legal are etymological twins that apparently share, excuse me, share the same Latin root lex, which means law.
So loyalty would mean originally according to law, as opposed to being lawful, as opposed to being an outlaw, but it also comes to be known as faithfulness to a promise, person, or oath.
And so the Latin for law is considered similar to the idea of loyalty. Loyalty and lawfulness are similar etymologically. What I find interesting about that is that one of the primary ways that laws were upheld in many ancient traditions was through oaths.
You swore an oath of loyalty and the punishment would potentially be death, right, can be pretty severe, but the simple point here is just that loyalty means that you are going to stay true to something as though it is a sort of law written on your heart.
And if you think about the law written on your heart that you will stay true to, there's something really epic about that, you know, that's a little dramatic. So is Venus in Leo.
That's how I feel about astrology. Some people ask me over time, like, what is your trick to staying consistent with producing content year round, day in, day out, for so many years, or your spiritual practices, or all these practices you have that you seem to do really consistently.
And I will tell you that, while my Capricorn moon helps, I attribute a lot of it to my Venus in Leo, where I'm not perfectly loyal by any stretch, but there is a certain pride that I take in staying heart-constant to the things that I have sworn some kind of allegiance to, and really doing my best to stay true to those things.
A lot of fixed signs are like that, in fact, but Leo's loyalty is like a law written on the heart. Venus finds that very attractive in Leo. The downside of that would, of course, be the sense of loyalty that is misplaced or misguided or vain or superficial.
Royalty is another one that's very Venus in Leo. Let's go to that. So this stems from the Latin regalis, which is kingly or of a king, which roots back all the way to rex, which is king, like Oedipus Rex, and the Proto-Indo-European root reg, which is also where we get Regulus from, I believe the fixed star, which would be to move in a straight line to direct and rule.
Now set aside how boring a straight line may sound to your ears at first, and just think about it more like this. If you have had the experience of a good leader in your life, not perfect, but good.
A good parent in your life, not perfect, but good. A good teacher, a good professor, a good therapist, then what I want you to think of is that they hold a kind of straight through line.
You could even think about it as like, if you have ever held space for someone and been a really good friend, and when you've been that good friend, you've had to kind of keep your spinal column straight, you know.
When you sit in meditation, when you hold space for someone, there's a position that we assume that's like I'm going to be like a straight arrow. And if you've had good teachers, even if they're really creative, quirky teachers that move in a lot of directions, whatever it is that is consistent in them that consistently shows up — there's the loyalty again — and that shines forth brilliantly as a star in your life, a pole star, a north star that anchors.
It's straight up, right, the pole star, it's kind of like straight up. These are all metaphors, right. So one of the ways of thinking about royalty is not just like the king, but it's like what holds a through line, what holds a straight line, and maybe everything else can orbit around it, you know, like the spinal column and the kundalini wrapping around it, but there needs to be a straight column for it to wrap around.
One way of thinking about what Venus in Leo provides, or what it's attracted to, or what it exudes, is the sense of being like a pillar, a pillar of light, a pillar of things that are reliable and good, and point us home somehow through beauty, love, romance, friendship, charm, attractiveness.
I think a lot about Robin Williams. So, let me just show you something really quick here. So, Robin Williams had Mercury in the sign of Leo. It was conjoined with Pluto in the sign of Leo.
And if you think about the characters he plays — Good Will Hunting, the therapist; Dead Poets Society, Mr. Keating, I think his name was, the English teacher — many of the examples he plays are goofy, erratic, they're very fun roles, but there's a sense of royalty, there's a kind of regality to him.
He wears a crown, even though he's not a literal king. We wear crowns, whether we're literal kings or queens, to the extent that we sort of stay straight-faced and play a role that acts as a kind of straight arrow toward the real thing, toward that which is transcendent, that which is good, that which is divine, that which is the heart.
So, ideally royalty is supposed to point us toward God. That's not the way it's gone in the world, but that's the archetype. So you can think about royalty that way, and Venus loves and is attracted to these things.
And then finally, solar flare. Let's just admit it, Venus in Leo loves shiny, flashy, golden diamonds, you know, it's like the peacock tail. This is Venus in Leo loves the theatrics and the drama and the performance, and the big, bright, sunshiny display of radiant beauty.
And there's a queen in all of us, if you know what I mean, there's a showy, feminine, fun, theatrical, performative energy in all of us. So those are a few things to look for with Venus in Leo.
Anyway, so what I'm going to do now is run through some lightning round horoscopes, and let's think about this. Hey, the really cool thing to consider here is that on June 30, Venus will have paved the way for Jupiter entering this place, rolling out the red carpet.
So, where is that red carpet being rolled out right now? If you're an Aries sun or rising, it's in your fifth house of creativity, pregnancy, joy, romance, rolling out the red carpet for Jupiter's entrance, where blessings are going to come over the next year.
If you're a Taurus, then this is in the fourth house of home, family, property, that foundational space of your private inner life. Venus rolling out the red carpet in the private domestic sphere of life.
If you're a Gemini, this is entering the house of your mind, your intellect, your speech, and communication, the way you perceive the world, your subjective ego center of consciousness, mentally and emotionally.
Venus in this house might be turning you on to a new way of thinking, or new skill development, or new way of communicating. Topic of siblings could also come up here.
For Cancer, we're looking at Venus rolling out the red carpet for Jupiter's entrance into your second house of money and assets and resources. That sounds nice.
Maybe some blessings coming here in the form of greater financial ease, or freedom, or asset or resource development. New forms of support coming in.
For Leo, it's coming into your first house. Venus is rolling out the red carpet in your body and your sense of self — confident, vibrant, filled with life, growing in your sense of who you are and why you're here.
This is a space of starting to bring blessings into your most essential sense of selfhood and identity.
For Virgo, we're talking about the 12th house now. This is an interesting space, because Venus and Jupiter coming into this space can point toward things that are happening in a more unconscious dimension of life, places that you can't see.
Maybe it's time to start growing confidence in yourself. Virgo can be very humble, sometimes a little self-effacing, sometimes a little self-critical. Maybe it's time to start embracing a more dramatic, even grandiose — how dare you? — a little bit more self-love, and integrating aspects of your flair, your drama, your performative theatrical bigness.
Yes, not easy for Virgos to integrate that, and to really own it and find it. So, maybe you are finding it.
All right. Well, for Libras, we're talking about Venus rolling out the red carpet in the 11th house of friends, allies, groups, communities, the social hemisphere of life as it's connected to the professional hemisphere of life.
Things happening in the social sphere, the professional sphere. What kind of collaborations or group environments, leadership or spaces or roles in groups or communities are taking place?
If you're a Scorpio, this is in your 10th house, Venus rolling out the red carpet in the space of your career and vocation. What kinds of shifts of leadership, position, authority, responsibility, blessings, or benefits are starting to come into your career house?
For Sagittarius, we're talking about the ninth house, the place of higher wisdom, philosophy, religion, spirituality. Venus sort of rolling out the red carpet here, talking about blessings that are going to start coming in the form of teachers, learning, education, religion, mystical or spiritual experiences, maybe even some meaningful travel abroad that expands your mind or heart.
Venus rolling out the red carpet for Jupiter, Jupiter's entrance into the place of wisdom.
Capricorn, it's the eighth house. Venus and Jupiter entering this house could bring benefits and blessings through collaborative efforts or contracts with other people, benefits and blessings from things like inheritance, maybe different kinds of loans that you're taking out, or different kinds of benefits or blessings coming in through partners or partnership.
This is also about the exchanges with other people, and what kind of exchanges are acting as real blessings or moments of grace right now.
So, Aquarius rising, it's in the seventh house. Venus rolling out the red carpet in the house of marriage and relationships, love, romance, beauty with others and also your partners.
What might be happening in their life right now that acts as a benefit or blessing to you, but comes from them somehow? Venus and Jupiter coming out and starting to sparkle in a house of love and interpersonal connection.
And finally, Pisces in the sixth house, a place of self-sacrifice, work, labor. But Venus and Jupiter, Venus rolling out the red carpet for Jupiter here, maybe starting to make your work more charitable, or generous, or wise, or well-resourced.
I love the potential of blessings or silver linings that come out of difficult situations. If you hire people, you're probably hiring some amazing new workers.
Venus and Jupiter can also in this house speak to the kind of wisdom that helps you work wiser or feel healthier or happier. A lot of Jupiter transits through the sixth will bring a wiser way of caring for yourself, a wiser way of working, so that you're not as drained or taxed physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.
Also, the kinds of things you care about and feel you're in service to — Venus and Jupiter in this place can be very compassionate, charitable, humanitarian. Watch for those connections.
So, just a few ideas here to get you thinking about what Jupiter's doing. We'll do separate Jupiter in Leo horoscopes down the line a little bit, but here Venus is entering Leo, giving us a little sneak preview.
I hope that today was fun. I hope you learned a little bit about Venus in Leo. I hope that you can get a feel for what might be coming with respect to the next year of Leo transits, plus eclipses in Leo.
So, anyway, I'll sign off now. I'm going to tell you next about the year one program. You can learn everything there is to know about it. The early bird discount is good through the 14th, that's this weekend. Be sure to take advantage of that.
And then classes start on the 28th. Need-based tuition is available all the way up to the start of class. If you'd like to take it but need a little help, we want to make sure people don't hurt themselves financially trying to study something sacred. We think that's really important.
So, yeah, hopefully it works for some of you to come study with us. Have a great day. We'll see you again next time. Bye.
