Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Happy Monday. Everyone.
Today, we're going to take a look at Venus moving through an opposition with Neptune while making trine to both Uranus and Pluto at the same time. It is a huge start to the week from Venus. And I'm going to give you five things to watch for today given this sequence.
In addition to that, I'll be telling you what's on my altar this week. I'll be doing some horoscopes for the cardinal rising signs, because you're the ones who are getting the Venus Neptune opposition today. So we'll review those Angular House position horoscopes at the end as well. Also tell you a little bit about some of the content coming up on the channel this week. That is our agenda for today.
Before we get into it as always, remember to like and subscribe. Turn on the notification bell for updates. You get notified when we have new episodes.
If you missed it, last week, I did a live stream. You can find under the Live tab on the page where we did some Birth Chart readings and demonstrated astrology for skeptics. Check that episode out in case you missed it. But if you want to see things like that, you know you're going to know when we go live, when we do live streams. If you have the notification bell on, you can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website, which is Nightlight astrology.com,
couple of brief promotions today before we get into it. Over here, go to Events. Click on live talks. You will see that on October 23 I'm giving a talk on the second house and the roots of the second house philosophically in ancient astrology. You want to know all about what, why this house is associated with money. You're going to learn about the history and meaning of this house, and it'll give you some ability to look at it in your own chart or the charts of clients if you're a practitioner.
We're also starting something called Silent Sundays. So this is a simple, free monthly community meditation gathering. Even calling it meditation might be misleading. We're literally going to get together and practice being quiet in community, which is a beautiful thing if you are looking to add a little spiritual practice to your life, looking for the right context or community in which to do so. And you like this channel, check this out.
We're meeting on the 26th of October for our first gathering at 10:30am Central. We'll be sitting in quiet for 30 minutes and then having a little space for reflection afterward. Really excited to be adding more spiritual opportunities for people in the audience. I hope that it's beneficial to all of you.
Of course, the other thing we're promoting is the year one course. So the year one program begins on November 8. We there's an informational video about it tagged on to the end of today's content that you can check out. And I'm really excited about this new class. Is this is easily the best thing that I create.
I think I'm a decent content creator, good consulting astrologer over the years, a lot of experience, but really, I think what I'm best at is teaching astrology, and these programs have been fine tuned and developed over a very long period of time. This class ancient astrology for the modern mystic is our year one program in ancient Hellenistic astrology.
Early Bird payments are available until October 24 there's also need based tuition assistance. So if you are someone who is in need of a little bit of help, that's a sliding scale that allows you to pick $30 a month, $40 a month, like that. So please do use that. That is for people who might be hurting financially. Maybe the currency exchange rate is high in another country, whatever the case might be, we want to make sure that people aren't priced out of studying a sacred topic like astrology.
So between now and the start of the program, as I'm promoting this class, I want to take some time to give you something each day that I think is a real value to studying astrology. So the one that I have for you today is that when you take the time to study astrology at the roots, you go back and you learn ancient astrology. You learn the why behind everything, which is so important it enhances one of the main gifts that astrology gives us, which is that it's a language that helps us to walk through the world.
It's a way of seeing the world. It's a way of experiencing it through a reflective symbolic language. Your ability to do that reflective that to do that reflection on a day by day basis is so greatly enhanced by taking deliberate time to immerse yourself in the language. So consider that, and I hope to see some of you in class soon.
All right. On that note, let's turn our attention to the real time clock. I want to show you exactly what's going on for Venus and then get into it. All right, here we go, you can see that what's happening today this evening, Monday, October 13, Venus will oppose Saturn. That's late tonight, Central Time Zone. So for some of you, it might be tomorrow. You know it'll it'll depend on exactly what what time zone you're in, but it's coming through today into tomorrow at the exact same time that Venus in Libra moving into her own rulership.
By the way, we'll talk about that in a second. Soon as she enters Libra and opposes Neptune, she is also instantly making trine to Uranus and Pluto. The trine to Uranus and Pluto will be taking place in. Through tomorrow, but are very much a part of what she's doing today, as she also opposes Neptune. So it becomes this very familiar space that we've been through with the Sun, Mercury and Mars previously, over the past couple of months, all of those planets first went through the opposition to Saturn, which we saw at the end of last week, and then the opposition to Neptune, and then the trine to Uranus and Pluto.
This tends to be the better part of the sequence as it hits those trines and finishes the oppositions, right? Because the oppositions can be a little bit more tense. So today, what I have for you is a list of five things to watch for, especially considering the most intense part of this, which is the opposition to Neptune. Then at the end, I'll give you some rising sign horoscopes for all of our cardinal or tropical signs. That'll be Aries, cancer, Libra and Capricorn, who are receiving that opposition in their angular houses. And then I'll tell you what's on my altar as well.
All right. Well, given this sequence, the first thing I want to say about this is that Venus has moved across the Saturn opposition through those late degrees of Virgo, where the recent Eclipse took place on September 21 and it felt like she was cleaning house. There were there were a lot of loose ends and old karmic entanglements that felt like they were being addressed. And that's certainly what was my experience of it. Many you know, client students and also feedback on, you know, in the social media, a lot of people talking about how intense that Venus, Saturn dynamic was.
That's also because it was happening the opposition to Saturn at that late degree Eclipse space of Virgo. Venus has now entered her rulership, which means things are going to get significantly better in Venus land. So all the significations of Venus, love, sex, romance, beauty, friendship, ease, harmony, Grace, flow, all the things Venus rules a little less static getting out of Mercury's earthy domicile and exaltation where Venus is in her fall.
So first of all, I think that it this opposition does feature a much stronger Venus, which wasn't the case with, say, Mars, Mercury or the sun, moving through this opposition to Neptune. All of those planets either lack dignity or are debilitated in Libra. So Venus, moving through this feels significantly brighter and happier, and maybe even marks the change for the better. Somehow, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of people feel like Venusian things get a real lift this week, and that's probably welcome, considering Venus having gone through the south node, inner fall, moving through the Eclipse space, opposite Saturn, etc, so it bears repeating that now, as soon as Venus is in Libra the opposition to Neptune, first and foremost, is also not the worst thing in the world.
You've heard me say this on the channel many times before, but in my, uh, experience over many years of seeing lots of different kinds of transits, Venus Neptune pairings, I mean, you could do a lot worse than a Venus Neptune pairing. Sure, there's shadows, there's things to watch for, there's always, you know, a list of like bewares. But these two planets, really, they they pair nicely in terms of some of the imaginative, romantic, sensitive, sensual qualities that both planets Express pretty regularly, and so in the list of things that I have to watch for today, I really do feel like compared to what we were saying when Mercury, Mars or the sun went through this exact same sequence over the past couple past couple months. It really does feel brighter to me, because I think the Venus Neptune pairing is a little bit more natural.
All right. Well, here is a list of five things to watch for in no particular order, and I have tried to stay balanced, although I'm definitely drinking the Kool Aid, I have a Venus Neptune Trine in my charts, I always wonder if that makes me guilty of like a bias toward this. But anyway, Venus Neptune, subtle irritants, subtle attractants. Neptune is a planet of things that are beyond or beyond the veil, subtle, invisible, timeless, intangible, ineffable.
And so when Venus comes into contact with Neptune, one of the things that will come up will be very, very subtle things that we find attractive. It's like catching the subtle or slight scent of someone's perfume when they walk by, or they're cologne when they walk by. And you go, Oh, that smells so nice. What was that? And then they're gone, you know? And then you go, it's just changed my consciousness instantly. So the subtle qualities that we find attractive, right?
Now, in people, in environments, in situations within ourselves. Oh, you know what I really like? This color that I'm wearing, it could be something really simple in terms of what we're finding attractive or appealing, you know, within our own wardrobe, but paying attention right now to what is trying to get our attention. Hey, this is something you actually like or find pleasing or enjoyable or beautiful, or pay more time or attention to this thing that actually makes you feel happy, Venus Neptune can convey, in its op, in their oppositions, something that we need more of, that's too far away from us, that, it turns out, is very appealing and valuable to us, but it'll initially appear as something subtle or distant or seemingly out of reach.
But there's almost like a call, a call to bring me in, please, in the same way that when that scent evades you, you wish you could just grab it and smell it a little bit more like that's bring it back. So watch for the subtle things that are calling to you and saying, actually, this is really beautiful. This is really valuable to me. This is something I really like. Now, of course, there's a siren song with Venus and Neptune where we have to be careful that what's calling to us isn't destructive or vain or selfish or lacking in some appropriate degree of moderation, but Venus and Libra is pretty good at remaining even keeled and balanced.
It's one of the beautiful parts about Venus and Libra. So I would trust that Venus and Libra will be able to mediate whatever passionate intensity is coming through Neptune in Aries and say, Yeah, I need more of this or more of that, but not get completely carried away with something that's appealing right now. Still, you know, just be mindful, because sometimes it is a bit of a siren song. On the other hand, Venus opposite Neptune can find that there are subtle irritants that are disturbing your peace, your enjoyment, your flow, your Harmony, your connection, your satisfaction.
These subtle little things agitate. They're like little fiery sparks, or like little, you know, when you're you're cooking something, and like a little droplet of oil jumps out of the pan and lands on your skin, and you're like, ah, you know, it feels like the fires of hell, just so you know that I also think I can't help but actually, the image that comes to my mind is so I'm in the process of having a few tattoos removed, and it's been a couple of years, and they're mostly almost gone now, but every time I go In and I have a tattoo removed, there's this feeling of it being erased.
You know, like erasing something on a chalkboard, but it's doing so with, like, those little grease droplets, it's like doing so with fire, it's like a fire eraser. Anyway, I don't know why that comes well, it comes to my mind because Venus opposite Neptune can be about the sort of painful, irritating way that something has to be changed esthetically. For example, I want, well, I think of something as obnoxious as having to clean out a closet or a drawer, and it can really irritate or agitate you as you're doing it, but then when you get to the bottom of it, your head feels better.
So Venus opposite Neptune might involve having, for the sake of greater peace or happiness or harmony or beauty or enjoyment, having to do something a little bit irritating or having to address some kind of subtle, agitating, inflammatory presence or energy or something. So watch for that. Number two, I mentioned this a little bit already, but what we long for but cannot have is so frequently a Venus Neptune kind of thing. I want this. I long for this. I wish I could have this, oftentimes Neptune to Venus in the natal chart as a life transit corresponds with people feeling bored, and then with the boredom comes the longing for something enjoyable.
It could be. I want to become a different person. I want a different job. I want different sex, a different partner. I want a different living environment, whatever the case, I want a different body. And so that longing can be very compelling with Neptune at zero, Aries, such an action oriented degree of the Zodiac, Venus could feel compelled here for the sake of greater balance, enjoyment, ease flow, or some revision to core values.
And for that to happen, it requires some kind of acting immediately, directly, assertively, in relation to something that you long for. You just you're being real about it. I. Want this. I'm not so happy. I'm a little bit bored. I think I'll have greater happiness, peace, ease or flow if I do this thing, and I have to do it now, it's almost like an intuition. Neptune in Aries to act in a way that Venus in Libra needs.
But the acting, the immediacy, the impulsivity, the heat, the sense of having to do something now could be a little disturbing for Venus and Libra. I've seen many people, you know, there's a bunch of signs that are prone to this, but Libra in particular, prone to sometimes staying in situations or relationships or environments to keep the peace, because it's considered intolerable to deal with the chaos that change would involve, even if the change would eventually create a deeper or more satisfying level of peace.
So consider those kinds of dynamics right now around this opposition, it's pretty fast moving, but for people, especially if you have planets around the planets around the early degrees of Cardinal signs like you're really going to be feeling this one, mediating or negotiating your passions, interests or values. Sometimes we have competing or conflicting interests or passions or hobbies, or, you know, almost like a different sets of callings in life.
Sometimes, I'll be honest with you guys, sometimes I feel like this is going to sound really weird, because I'm not a musician at all. But sometimes I feel like what I really am is a failed musician. I'm not I'm not a semi successful astrologer or something. I'm just a failed musician. Or other times I feel like I'm an athlete that never followed through with the desire to be an athlete. I don't know you get what I mean?
I think everyone's like this. I hope I'm not sounding like a total nut job. But what I mean is we, there's, like, a whole set of possible interests, values, passions, and at most of us end up narrowing in on a few. Some people perpetually couch surf. I suppose I'm just kidding and and never, never focus on anything. Sorry, guys, you get what I mean? What? What do you do when you're like, Well, I I can't just follow any and every passion.
There has to be substantive outcomes. My the choices I make will be judged and evaluated somehow by the processes of life. Meaning, if I choose to go down and try to become a pro surfer at 44 I guess I'd have to leave my family here in Minnesota, probably break my leg or get eaten by a shark and and there's a pretty good chance that nothing substantive or of great value would come from my sudden desire to follow up on, you know, wanting to be a surfer, and, you know, wishing I would have done it when I was younger.
Actually, I've never wanted to be a surfer, but you get, you get what I'm talking about. There are so many different passions that can take us in so many different directions, and Venus and Libra can be such a diplomat internally, for helping us negotiate with the different passions, interests, values that we have, and sometimes we get into spaces where we feel very overwhelmed by which passion or interest ought we to choose between and Libra can be.
It can be. It can be notoriously difficult for Libra, not librarians, but Libra as a sign to make a choice. It's a place that can see both sides. Air signs are really good at that. So this might be a moment of having to make hard choices about passions, interests and mediating the different levels of those things. Number four would be women, missions, visions, peace, diplomacy. I like this as a moment of strength for the feminine, for the feminine involved in things like justice, the law, activism, diplomacy, peace politics, ideology, teaching, education, leadership.
Like to me, this has a little bit and you've heard me say this before. I think it reminds me that anytime you've got Venus and Neptune together with a with a little bit of fire, like Venus and Aries, I think I said this when Venus was in was in Aries last spring with Neptune. Maybe I don't remember. Anyway, Joan of Arc, you get the kind of like, I'm a woman on a mission. I'm a woman warrior.
I could see this being a moment of women's wisdom. Issues surrounding women becoming more prominent or important, women's voices, women's bodies, women's wisdom, all of that kind of stuff. So. Also, I will say that I think that anything that one feels like fighting for some kind of diplomatic or peaceful value that is worth fighting for, that's an often a libre Aries kind of pairing in general. But this one, to me, feels like you could see, almost like an advocacy theme. So watch for that number five would be a moment of Venusian breakthrough.
The reason I want to put this so I want to this last one, I want it to be so broad, is remember that Venus is hitting those trine to Pluto and Uranus at the exact same time that it's opposing Neptune to me. That means that anything related to women or sisters or friends or lovers or sex, or art or beauty or harmony or peace or enjoyment or happiness, sensuality, the role that that archetype plays in our lives right now, it wouldn't be surprising if you said, Boy, it was a big week for me figuring out something about what healthy enjoyment or happiness looks like.
It was a big week for me having some breakthroughs in my intimacy, in my intimate life with a lover. It was a big week for me standing up for myself in a relationship. It was a big week for me in my relationship with my sister. You get it. So anything Venusian whatsoever, I would anticipate Venus finding more resources this week, she's in her own sign. She's got more of her own power, so to speak. She's hitting Uranus and Pluto in Trine and air signs like healthy, strong ideas and conversations and plans, and maybe even innovative ideas or technologies, the passionate sense of vision drive mission with the opposition to Neptune and Aries, coupled with the resourcing of all these Trine and Venus being in her own sign, feels like Venus could have some really good things working for her this week.
So I want you to think about that very broadly, and then just survey your life and see if you can take notice of it. All right, that is it for the day. I'm gonna tell you what is on my altar. Actually, no, first, we're doing Cardinal horoscopes. Sorry, I almost forgot. All right, let's back this up. Let's do Aries first. So these are Cardinal rising sign horoscopes. Just you can. You can do this for your son too, if you want, but Venus Neptune across your first and seventh.
If you're in Aries, that's going to be the relationship access self and other. So watch for these dynamics that we described today showing up around selfhood, identity, core issues around identity and important relationship dynamics. We're going forward to cancer, where we get this across 10 and four diplomacy piece in the home, around family and passionate convictions around the world and work or the public sphere, so the private, public or career, home and family sectors activated for cancers, for Librans.
It's that self, other, access, again. Venus in the first emphasizing your own health, beauty, wellness, your own preferences, development of your own identity, very important right now. Opposite Neptune and Aries in the seventh house, the passionate intensity that comes through relationships, through love, sex, interpersonal dynamics, so the self other, access again. And then for Capricorns, we're going to see the exact same thing, 10 and four Venus in the workplace.
Venus in that public domestic sphere, public sphere of life, whereas Aries is in the domestic sphere of life. So we're seeing the coupling again of public and private work and home in dialog and conversation for cap as well. And one thing that you can do for any sign that I highly encourage you do, is take a look at Venus's entrance. We're, I think tomorrow, what we'll probably dedicate some time to will be reminders of house positions for Venus.
But you could get ahead on that homework. You could take that as homework, get ahead on it right now, and just note that, like, hey, Venus has got great dignity for the next, you know, several weeks. Let's see. Let's just speed this up. I can't remember the date off the top my head, but yeah. So it's going to be all the way until November 6, you know. So you take Venus from where it's at to the start of this week, October 13 to November 6, that that's what a good three weeks, I guess, that we have Venus in a really empowered sign, so probably bringing some healthy support to the libre part of your chart.
Anyway. So let me show you what's on my altar. You guys are gonna laugh at this one, I think, because I bet you, I'm not the only one who has to do this, but it sometimes has to be done on my altar this week is my cell phone. Because what I'm trying to do is become more conscious in the evenings of what I look at on my. Phone before I go to bed, because I've been noticing as honestly, I've known this for a long time.
It's just something that comes and goes in waves where my awareness and my intelligence light the way or not. It's basically just don't look at super stressful, violent, intense, provocative, you know, irritating kinds of things for the psyche before bedtime. So it's like my goal this week is to be a little bit more conscious of the evenings with family and before bed with screen time and scrolling, because I it really affects my sleep.
So it's something I'm trying to be conscious of this week. So I put it on my altar. And throughout the week, when I'm not using it, I'm in my office, I'm putting it on the altar, and anytime I look at it, I just go, dear universe, help me. Help me. My my struggling, addictive nature. So anyway, Much love to all of you guys.
After I sign off, you're going to see an informational video about the year one program. Astrology is a way of seeing the world, and it is so greatly amplified in your ability to see the world and your ability to reflect upon the events of everyday life when you take some time to really learn the language at a deep level, I can't wait to be your guide and host for that process in the year one program, if you choose to join us.
So stick around, because more on that next. All right, bye, everyone.

My female Libra friend became uncharacteristically angered when I called her friend who’s in my contact list but whom I have never had any conversation…when I had nothing to really communicate at all & yet made the brief contact is a mystery to me. … noting how “proprietary” was my friend’s reaction was, my anger has been reactionary in turn & wounded in depth of regretting that I ever believed in the reality of “friendship” … when algorithms create “false scenarios” ?
