Hey, Nightlight crew. Today, Venus and Pluto square off in a powerful battle about love and control, and we're going to deep dive on the archetype to figure out what the heck it all means.
If you don't know me, I'm Whitney Kranz. I'm your mystic sis and your Astro bestie, and I am so freaking honored to be here covering a day of Adam's content while he is away on a well deserved vacation.
It is a big responsibility that I don't take lightly. But listen, I've been through all the Nightlight courses, countless master classes and more, and I started my astrology journey right here listening to content like this.
Now, you can go over to Nightlight astrology.com to view all of Adam and Nightlight offerings right now. And remember, before we get into it, give me a little support. Guys. Will you like subscribe if you haven't already, and let's get into it.
Shall we today? Friday, April 3, Venus is in Taurus, squaring Pluto in Aquarius. Now this happens in the evening, central time, like 5:38pm and in honor of Adam, and I'm getting a little personally nostalgic, we're going to turn the archetypal jewel and talk five things to watch for.
So I'll go ahead and share the chart here in a second, or what Adam lovingly refers to as the real time clock, and listen. Venus Pluto is not the only thing in the sky today. While we'll touch on the rest of it, we're focusing on the Venus Pluto archetype.
So y'all we know we are just off the Full Moon in Libra, but now the moon is waning. It's over here in Scorpio, the place of its depression, and it is exactly opposing Venus, who ruled that Libra Full Moon.
Right now, this is really interesting, because the moon, she's the weaver, right stitching this story together. And the moon here in Scorpio today really influences how we're feeling the energies.
And, you know, we don't look at astrology in a vacuum, even though this transit is perfecting after that Libra Full Moon, it is absolutely influencing it, and so is Mercury's trine to Jupiter right now, for that matter, that transit also perfects today.
But listen, we've been around the block. This is the third time now in the last several weeks, month and a half over Mercury's retrograde journey that we've experienced Mercury Jupiter. And I have a feeling you have some other Mercury Jupiter content that probably came out yesterday. So we will kind of mix it all together today.
Now, what you'll notice with Venus opposing the moon square to Pluto. What we've got in the sky is this big old T square of tension, and it's happening across the fixed signs. Right? Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio and Leo are all fixed signs. We're lighting up three of those four signs.
Now, when I think of a square, which is the nature of Mars, right? You have that tension of change. That's how I like to describe a square. We are calling for change in a place where change doesn't happen easily. That's the nature of fixed signs.
And what I think is interesting here as well, is if we really dive deep here, what we're looking at here is the opening square. So what does that mean? You can almost think of this square like a first quarter moon, right, growing in power because the seed was planted.
The seeding point happened when Venus conjoined Pluto in Aquarius, back on January 19. Now, when I say January 19, geez, I get a little Sorry, not sorry. Triggered here in Minneapolis, we were in the midst of major te euphemize, we'll say, unrest, and that was following our government sending in a disproportionate amount of immigration officials.
But what's interesting when I think back to that time, to that seeding point I was uncovering in my life, huge new wells of creativity. Isn't it interesting? And this is why astrology, personal astrology, is so captivating, because what happens to us? What we experience on the inside in our experiences through life are, yes, absolutely influenced by what's going on around us, but we can thrive. We can absolutely thrive under astrology that in the collective feels like things are such a mess.
Now, what's interesting, and I'll quick flip up the chart of that January 19 seeding. Moment two is that the moon was right there to witnessing. The Moon is always involved when we see important cycles of change.
So the reason I'm talking all about where we've been is because with my astrology practice, it's really, really important to get the context, the context of what is happening right now, what has happened in the past, so we can get an idea of how those energies are going to carry forward.
So I want to ask you, January 19, kind of that week, around that timeframe, we had multiple planets entering Aquarius, conjoining Pluto and So think back to then, take a peek at your journals. What were you doing then? Because the point of this is that what you were creating, then what you were realizing, then what you were starting to bring into the world that is in its building phase right now, and that's the tension of growth that this Venus Pluto square describes.
Now let's talk a little bit more about Venus, about Pluto, right? Venus, she's looking pretty good. Here she is looking really powerful. Here Venus is at home in Taurus. This is the sign of her dignity. And so she is empowered here, echoing that she is also an evening star.
Here an evening star position is Venus's favorite place to be, that beautiful, gorgeous light in the evening sky, the brightest star we see when this occurs. And so now Venus her context, her path. She has newly entered Taurus here, her home sign, after a period in her what we say, detriment Aries, where she doesn't do so well, in a place where, honestly, I kind of like Venus in Aries energy, Venus in Aries just takes what she wants without asking, right?
And so now, as Venus is brought into her place of power, meeting a square with Pluto, where we can see here Pluto is in the superior position. Pluto is in this chart, technically to the right clockwise of Venus, which means Pluto exerts its influence, its line of sight, over Venus.
And so I wonder if Venus here in her place of power, meeting with Pluto, Pluto in Aquarius being so much right now about the collective growing collective energy? Is she meeting collective consequence? I don't know. That's what we're going to talk about today, but have no fear.
While this is a moment of tension, it is not dire. It is not a crisis. It will not be a crisis for most individuals. And what we're illustrating here is a story unfolding, because by the end of the month, by the end of April, Venus will be in Gemini. She will be meeting in a trine with Pluto while Uranus is there, by the way. So we have a story unfolding that sort of grows in that revolutionary information based sense around Venus.
So okay, we're going to get to five things to watch for. But let me back up for just a second, because if you're new here, if you are not an astrology student, like many of the audience members, if you're here for that daily dose of spiritual depth that Adam is so good at providing, let's talk about Venus herself, the archetype of Venus.
I think most people know that Venus is a symbol of femininity, and yes, that is true. The archetype of Venus carries a desire for love, for beauty. Venus is fertile. And then that fertility, I don't mean popping babies out all the time. I mean, yeah, that can be part of it, but more so creativity.
Think about the rich fertile soil, right? The rich fertile soil that is the prime environment for things to grow in. I mean, if we're talking about Pluto, Pluto as this, like darkly earthly, underground moons in Scorpio, I kind of love that metaphor of the deep, fertile, rich soil.
But Venus is also about art. Venus is about comfort. And in that comfort, yeah, there can be a sort of pleasing or pleasure aspect to that comfort, but it's more about safety and security, right in that way, with the sort of feminine connection Venus has some ties to the moon herself, who we see opposing Venus right now, and so we're getting these archetypal energies of yes, the feminine, the Yin of women, and that is being challenged at this moment by Pluto.
Pluto is the god of power. My favorite key word for Pluto is eruption, or eruptive, because that's what Pluto does. Pluto dives into the darkest spaces and brings the muck forth, brings an eruption of the stuff we're not looking at. It's almost like the stuff we can't bear to look at because it hurts or it's a little icky.
So Pluto plays in this realm of darkness really well, and in fact, I like to think of in the way I work with Pluto in my practice, when reading natal charts, when reading transit charts, is that Pluto functions like a volcano.
Pluto creates that what starts as gentle rumbling in the places that you don't see, and that pressure builds and builds and builds into a moment of eruption. Well, we know volcanoes are destructive as hell. Volcanoes, there is destruction within the Pluto archetype.
But listen, it is not all lost. Remember, this is not a crisis, because Pluto, as the destroyer, yes, creates new growth. In fact, Pluto creates riches from destruction. So there is, again, that larger storyline here that we have to open up because Pluto is so much more than that little purple devil who fucks things up.
Think about the volcano and how this lava erupts and destroys everything around it. Talk about fertility, because that lava, this is why Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, because it is created from the lava of a volcano.
That lava has a way of, yes, destroying and then imparting this incredible fertility into the soil for things to grow and flourish, more beautiful than ever before. So don't knock Pluto. Yes. Pluto is usually uncomfortable, but Pluto promises we'll say riches in exchange for that discomfort.
So now we've labored the context. We have labored the archetype. Enough. Let's get to it. What five things are we watching for on this fine Friday, which is Venus's day.
So even though Pluto is in the superior position here, it's Venus's day, she's in her position of power. I think this is a battle of wills for sure, both planets being so powerful and lit up by aspect to the moon. So that is my first theme that we're talking about, and that is power plays.
When Venus and Pluto come together, and this is Pluto on its own too. We can think about power dynamics Absolutely. What are you recognizing in your own life right now, about your personal power, the power that you are giving away to others, the power that people have over you and how you express your own desires, love, beauty.
And what this says to me about power is that we've probably got some things growing in the dark here in the unseen places that we are not really sure is actually for real. Maybe it's a suspicion about somebody's motives.
You've been some people in the collective, and this is inherently a question about women, femmes, groups of women and women, identifying people, I would be wary this weekend, specifically today, Friday, throughout the day, as this transit is perfecting of manipulation. Sorry, that sucks to say. I mean, we're talking Pluto. It's not going to be all rainbows and unicorns. In fact, I'm sorry, there are not rainbows or unicorns here.
But if you want to get mythic with it, I am thinking of the myth of Hades and Persephone. This is the quintessential Greek myth that explains the seasons. But just like most mythology, it's not a pretty one. It's not a comfortable one.
Persephone is literally abducted by Hades as she's out enjoying those Taurus fields, picking her flowers, and so she is abducted by Hades, the god of the underworld, and taken to the underworld. She is taken to hell while her mother, Demeter, who was the goddess of harvest, her mother, was so distraught that she neglects all of her duties.
There is no harvest this year. Sorry y'all. You get massive famine and endless winter because Demeter is too depressed without her daughter. Now. Meanwhile, Persephone becomes bound to hell. She does this unknowingly by eating the fruit of the Pomegranate.
Pomegranate seeds, which apparently were slash, are the fruit of the underworld. There's got to be some symbolism there. I don't know. You know what I love to do on Fridays. I only do this when I'm really feeling Venus and I'm really sort of into that archetype.
I'll buy a pomegranate or buy the cup of those pomegranate seeds, and I will add pomegranate seeds to my oatmeal in the morning on Fridays as a little honoring to Venus. So I guess I'm bound to the underworld as well. What do you what do you do? No, I digress.
So this is what happens Persephone and Hades strike a deal so that Persephone can return to the earth to be with her mother. We got to feed the people, right? We can't have everybody piling up in hell. There isn't enough room there because of all of this famine.
So Persephone returns to the earth for half the year. This creates spring and summer, and returns to the underworld for fall and winter. And the story, yes, while explaining the season, is really about this, like, major transformation that women go through from, you know, maidenhood into power.
We can think of the, you know, triple goddess here, maiden mother, Crone, right Venus, Persephone, as the feminine archetype I'm using to represent Venus right now, comes into her place of power.
So that's what I mean about anything Pluto related, really being this double edged sword and sometimes kind of having to look for the gold, look for the light. Think 20 steps ahead of if you're dealing with difficult power dynamics right now.
One, Pluto asks, how can you use that to your advantage? And two, how can you think 20 steps ahead to create the transition from weakness to power?
So let's keep talking about the archetypal feminine, because that is my second theme to watch for, and that is plainly collective archetypal feminine rage I could see today, this weekend, this Libra Full Moon, being a period of when women and women identifying people push back, get loud, this could also be just generally about anger.
And remember, we mentioned here that today Mercury is trining Jupiter, Mercury in Pisces, Jupiter in Cancer we have. Have that juicy callback to our Water Trine season from October to December that was really heavy. Well, those lessons are coming back to us now. Mercury trining Jupiter is acting like a megaphone here.
And listen, I'm a woman. I'm one of them. We've got a lot to be mad about right now. You know what? Let's not even make it a gender thing for a second. Like people have a lot to be mad about right now with what is going on.
And you know one of the Libra Full Moon themes, not themes. One of my key words under the Libra, full moon. I always do meditation with the chart. If you don't follow me here on YouTube, head on over to Astro dot Archana, dot astrology, where I cover all of the lunations.
So I do these deep meditations on what each lunation means for us, and then I talk on YouTube about it. Well, one of my key words for this Libra Full Moon that precedes this Venus Pluto square is refusal.
So is this a moment in society where women step up, get loud and simply refuse to be taken advantage of. I don't know. We shall see, won't we?
Now we're talking about a lot of power coming through here, and we can look at this power in a slightly different lens. You know, it wouldn't be a Venus Pluto aspect if I didn't talk about sex. Sorry, not sorry.
I think that if in our personal lives, we need a little bit of inspiration to get excited, yes, euphemizing here that this Venus Pluto square could help to bring forth an eruption of sexuality, a burning passion in the darkness in private, it feels seductive. It feels maybe a little obsessive, and that is not always a good thing.
Often obsession is not a good thing, and so we must remember to sort of carry this energy deftly. But I also think there's the potential for sexual exploration here, for taboo experiences, and often in those sorts of experiences, we can feel a sense of freedom, of freeing, freeing ourself from taboos that don't necessarily need to have a hold on ourselves.
And for that matter, we've been talking about the fertility, slash creativity of Venus. You know, I think this could also represent an eruption, generally, of creativity.
Remember, I told you under that Venus Pluto seeding moment on January 19, I was getting really, really creative. Well, that's when my concept I told you about my lunation based podcast. That was when my second podcast concept was born, called Astro style.
That's when I first started creating these Astro style dedicated episodes. How Venus Pluto is that we're talking astrology and fashion in one container. We're talking about using the body as an altar, as a way to like, using our outside to integrate on the inside, all of the archetypal energies we're experiencing as the planets whip around us in the sky as I'm talking Astro style.
To Pete, my hoodie is this not the most Venus Pluto little hoodie you have ever seen that, my friends, is Astro style, because I'm recording this over weeks in advance, right? The archetypal energies, they're not really in the air yet.
So one of the things that I can do as an astrologer, as I'm tuning into that field of energy, so I even know what the heck to talk to you about, is to dress like the transit, which then helps communicate it. So there's my little plug for Astro style. Go find me over there.
Okay, let's keep going, though, because I have surprised another personal story to share. So by the way, if you don't like me, this is the time, if you haven't already to head out See you later. See. On weekend wisdom, no no worries, no pressure. I can handle it.
So let's talk about Venus Pluto and the archetype of disruption of comfort within this. And this is my fourth theme to watch for if you didn't gather that, with this disruption of comfort can come a feeling of fear for one's own safety.
See how we're putting that together. Venus as the goddess of comfort and all things feeling good, right? Pluto as the destroyer, that's where we get disruption of comfort. Pluto is a lot about fear.
Remember that, like when we talk about Pluto representing riches honestly, like we can't make those riches often, unless we face our fears unless we do something big. So this is, this is my personal experience.
Back in July 2024 we had a Venus Pluto opposition in the sky. Now, if you've been watching this channel for a long time, since you know, Alexandra and I were doing the monthly overviews with Adam every month. I remember talking about this, but I'm going to talk about it again.
I had this weird, uncomfortable, awful personal experience under a Venus Pluto opposition. This was one degree of Leo Aquarius. My Ascendant is in that first decan of Leo as well. So it was pretty personal, and I had, long story short, gone outside in the morning after a rainy morning here in Minneapolis, I was living on the ground floor of my apartment building had this big patio with this beautiful sectional.
I felt really lucky to have that outdoor space in the middle of downtown Minneapolis, and we knew the security wasn't great, like the Gates weren't locked. Typically, in these types of buildings, you have gates that lock, you have multiple entrances, right? Well, ours didn't, and so everything looks as normal, but I come outside and it's a beautiful Thursday morning.
I want to whip the cover off of the couch so I can sit out there and drink my coffee while I whip the cover off of this outdoor sectional. And there's a man laying there. Can you imagine, I've got sleep in my eyes. I'm trying to just, you know, start my day, and I'm surprised.
Now, thankfully, the surprise was the most discomfort of it. Turns out, this was an unhoused man who happened upon a safe and dry spot to take refuge in a storm, so he gets up very slowly, ambles away. I freak out. I yell some expletives. I run inside. I'm like, what just happened here?
And yes, I'm lucky. It was just a surprise, right? But what that did, what that experience did was exposed all of those issues with security that we had in that unit. That wasn't the only experience of a strange person, maybe following us back to our place.
And so that experience in itself had us move had us moving units. Now, you see, Isn't that wild? We've brought up the sun together. Yes, I came at you pre dawn. Now I look all golden because it's light outside. So now we're up here on the 10th floor, which is great.
Well, here's the other interesting thing about that fear for safety, disruption of comfort archetype. Well, remember how I was telling you that 19th of January when Venus conjoined Pluto in this seating moment, it was a day after that that we had ICE agents in the parking lot.
This is a hotel down here, that we had ICE agents in the parking lot of this hotel, and I witnessed somebody being taken out of the hotel and into ICE custody.
And you better believe that while I recognize that I hold a lot of privilege in a situation like that, that that didn't have me questioning my own comfort and my own safety here at home when we're witnessing atrocious acts like that, so I would expect to be aware of your surroundings during this period make sure that.
You are taken care of the things you need to take care of, and maybe there's a little bit of that sort of like mama bear protective nature that can help you at this moment.
Now, my fifth and final theme of what to watch for here with the Venus Pluto square is I've been kind of hinting at it, okay, and I'm ending on a good note, cultivation of riches.
This is the type of transit where you don't know you might get a little baby windfall from some secret sources, even if it's like a bouquet delivered from a secret admirer, I could see something like that occurring, right?
Venus? In addition to when we talk about Venus representing comfort, there's an idea of abundance that goes with comfort, and in that way, Venus can represent abundance and money and with Pluto as the god of riches. I think there is that potential here.
I think because these planets are meeting in a square, there could also be a tension around how you are creating those riches, if you're doing it honestly, this one here feels maybe a little bit like scheming.
So I would say use this thoughtfully and intentionally to examine, how are you cultivating wealth and that, friends is all that I've got.
Thank you so much for taking an in depth look at this. Venus Pluto square with me. If you've made it this far, I really appreciate you sticking around.
I am sending you blessings of fertility and creativity and abundance and riches to you if you liked this, if you like my style this sort of archetypal, mythic, deep dive, astrology. Context, come check out the house of good spirit.
