What happens when the heart’s longing for order meets the mind’s craving for something entirely new? This week, Venus in Virgo squares Uranus in Gemini — a transit that disrupts routines, unsettles expectations, and asks you to reconsider what you truly value. But this isn’t merely about surprise or instability. It’s about what breaks open when the structures we’ve relied upon no longer hold.
As Venus conjoins the South Node, old patterns in relationships rise to the surface, demanding to be seen and released. Meanwhile, Mercury sits at the heart of the Sun — a Cazimi — offering a rare moment of clarity and sincerity. And in the background, Jupiter opposes Pluto, intensifying questions of power, transformation, and what truly needs to change.
If you’ve been feeling restless, stirred, or caught between what was and what could be — this video offers a grounded perspective on navigating the friction with honesty and heart.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Happy Friday, everyone. Today we're going to take a look at Venus coming into a square with Uranus. Venus is in Virgo, Uranus in Gemini, both Mercury ruled signs, and they are meeting at the beginning of next week on Monday. But since we're heading into the weekend and these two planets will be applying to that square over the next couple of days, figure we'll take a look at it now.
We'll probably return to it on Monday as well, but that's our agenda for the day. Hopefully, we'll give you a nice good understanding of this combination. It's also going to be really important to look at it alongside of the Mercury retrograde that's happening and the Jupiter Pluto opposition. We're going to try to tie some of those things in a little bit. So, anyway, before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe.
It takes two seconds to subscribe. It really helps us. Thank you so much for supporting us on the channel. You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website, that is Nightlight astrology.com When you go over to the website, couple of promotions for the day: go to the shop page, click on my books. My new book, The Oracle Speaks, is out. Check it out there. There'll be an audible version coming out later this summer.
I hope. First of all, thank you to everyone who shared with me your reading experience. You guys have been really sweet. Leave me a nice review on Amazon. Don't leave me a bad one. No, I hope you'll enjoy it. Again, the audible book will be out later this summer, so if you really prefer audio, we will have that coming out soon, anyway. Okay, so what else? Let's see here.
Go to events, click on monthly webinars. This month I'm giving a talk called The Dark Side of Astrology: Malefics, Eclipses, and Retrogrades. Should we really be so terrified of these things? I think that there are some reasons to respect these kinds of transits for the difficulty that they can bring, but also there's a lot of wisdom that goes with these transits, and sometimes we can just get afraid of things in astrology.
So, hopefully, we'll shine a little light on some of these, you know, more more foreboding transits. Anyway, so check that out. If you register and you can't make it live, you'll get the recording as well. Finally, every day at Nightlight we have community meditation, just a simple way to try to pair our spiritual practice and focus with the astrology that we're doing every day.
So that means a lot to me. It's always been a part of my life with astrology. Doesn't make me perfect, doesn't make anyone perfect to meditate, but it really does help to go inward regularly, and to, you know, to do the best we can to become the best versions of ourselves, and that that is not me leading this from any kind of realized perspective, it's more just valuing it and really valuing time with other people.
I've come to so deeply admire and respect the people getting together and just sitting quietly every day. It's been a really nice practice. It was actually inspired by the Buddhist monks walking across the country, kind of something around Saturn, Neptune at the beginning of 2026 that really inspired me. So, anyway, hope to see some of you there. All right, let's put Necepso up on the screen.
This is our official astrology software. I'm an affiliate now, so if you want to check Ninchep, so out, you can get the discount code for 20% off discount in the comment section or the description of the video. It's a fantastic software program, absolutely love it. So, on that note, let's take a look at what's happening here. First, I want to just point out, here's Venus in Virgo, there's Uranus in Gemini.
Here on Friday, July 10, they are just several degrees away. If we go forward to Saturday, tomorrow, July 11, they're two degrees away, one degree away on Sunday, and then Monday they meet, and then if we give it just a few degrees of separation, their separation occurs by about July 16, that's my birthday. So we have, I think, a very powerful transit here to be considering for the weekend, and a couple of things happening alongside of it.
Let me back this up just a touch. So, as the two planets are coming together over the weekend. There's a couple of other things happening in the sky. I think maybe most potently we see that Mercury is at the heart of the sun, so Mercury Cazimi is the ruler of this Venus Uranus square. So I think that has the power to, there's something very provocative, and a little like a little edgy, and I think fairly disruptive about this Venus Uranus square.
But speaking from the heart, speaking with truth and clarity, coming from a place of sincerity, meeting things with vulnerability and openness might be a secret way through some of the stressors or tensions that come up along the way, and for me, over the years of doing this, I have noticed, you know, wherever my, wherever my edges are, as a person, as an astrologer, just as, as a parent, or a spouse, or whatever, I'm learning, I'm growing, and I can't think of any.
That has worked better when it comes to facing my own shadows and, and working through them in my relationships, and so forth. Then just coming from the heart, just really starting there, rather than fear, defensiveness, accusation, blame, just starting from, you know, here's my honest, vulnerable heart, and I think that we have that in the midst of this Venus Uranus square, because that Mercury Cazimi is ruling it as it's applying. I think that has to be noted.
So that's the first part. The other part that I want to note is, and one of the reasons I feel this could be a little bit more edgy and provocative than a typical Venus Uranus square is that Venus is in her fall right now, conjoined the south node of the moon, potentially kind of wrapping up some old karma somehow, and, and you know that, that, that can be a little hard.
The realizations of Venus in her fall at the south node might be hard to stomach, you know, but also there can be there can be purification and healing, but what also makes this very powerful is that Jupiter's opposing Pluto within just a couple of degrees, bearing down on one of the biggest oppositions of the year. This configuration, therefore, in some ways is like the prelude to that opposition, and the opposition might be bringing changes that are reflective of some of the things that Venus and Uranus is is bringing up, so excuse me.
With all of that in mind, I've got a list of five things to watch for today that I hope you'll find useful. So, first of all, we have to note that when Venus is in Virgo, Uranus is in Gemini, we've both, both got Mercury ruled signs, and so the first thing on my list would be the disruptive qualities of Uranus and Venus, when they come together, they can be, it's a little like, you know, really enjoying a conversation with someone, but feeling also over stimulated at the same time.
So any kind of verbal mental nervous disruption, dysregulation that's affecting relationships, or that create some, some choppy or turbulent spaces that we have to navigate through, where there might be exciting change that's taking place, breakthroughs that are taking place, but if you've ever been in the midst of a very creative time, sometimes those times are, sometimes those spaces are also turbulent, they're choppy, they're filled with over stimulation.
I liked Venus and Uranus. To me, it's a little bit like moving, when you're moving, there's a lot of excitement, new spaces to fill, you know. I remember when I got into this office and we painted it purple, and I got the carpet down, and I was like setting it up, it was so exciting, but also like for my actual work day, I was recording, you know, on a laptop in another room, that there was echoes, like it was very dysregulating for my normal flow as a content creator, until the office was totally set up.
The point here is that with Venus and Uranus meeting in Mercury-ruled signs, I think we have to imagine that the feeling of choppiness or disruption or dysregulation, a little tipsy, topsy, tipsy, topsy, topsy-turvy. What's the phrase, anyway? It could be a little, you know, could be a little uneven, and that I think doesn't mean it's not creative or fulfilling, or doesn't constitute breakthroughs at the same time, but that's something I would pay attention to.
Number two, and this one to me is why we have to be careful around this one. Venus, Uranus are always provocative. I think Venus Uranus, at its best, is like experimental, experimental music, experimental art, experimentation, and and unconventional ways of making love, or of interesting people who don't fit the mold, or who help you break out of some kind of socially conditioned way of seeing or experiencing life.
Venus, Uranus contacts are often ignite sex and passion and creativity in ways that are very exciting, they don't always last super long, right? Because we can't be in that sort of Promethean flame 24/7 but I think Venus and Uranus together can be provocative, and yet because we're setting them alongside of a Jupiter Pluto opposition, I can't help but wonder if Venus, Uranus are going to be taking place in the midst of some kind of troublemaking, and what do I want to call it, troublemaking, rebellious, defiant power plays.
It almost gives me the feeling of like mutiny or something, where there's like people trying to, you know, Jupiter, Jupiter opposite Pluto, can legitimately be involved in like transitions of power, death of leaders in, in the passing of the torch from one generation to another, but that Jupiter in Leo is not just the bad king. Thing that needs to die, like, which I know, like that everyone is wondering, like, will we see Jupiter and Leo, like figures, go through some kind of death or whatever.
But the other thing is that sometimes there's, there's coups, you know, there's, you know, the military takes over the government, or there's there's times where people that don't always have the best intentions, or whose vision for the future is not necessarily progressive, or better, or healthier, or wiser, or more enlightened, trying to take down people who may have their hearts in a, in the right place, and so you know either way, though, whether we're talking about displacing people because it's they're getting their, you know, their what do I want to say, like they're getting exposed or something, or trying to sort of deliberately take people out.
There's something like that in the sky, because Venus, Uranus can be very disruptive when it comes to relationships. I mean, for example, Venus and Uranus together are often involved in, you know, like infidelity, and, and, so, and it's, you know, I've worked with a lot of people over time. I think it's, it's very human that people struggle in commitments, in long-term commitments, but when something's not working, and you think, well, I'll, I'll just do this thing that will make everything better.
It rarely works like that, right? So, there can be almost like a meddling quality, like kind of like your troublemaking for yourself if you think this thing is going to solve the problem. And I reflect on that really from a lot of learning in my own life and from people in my life, that I've learned that, like, when something's not like the classic example of Venus, Uranus being like the midlife crisis tattoo, or the midlife crisis, I don't know, expensive car, or the midlife crisis affair.
Uranus oppositions often bring these things up, and when they happen, they're typically like it's just not the right answer to the underlying problem, you know what I mean, but we can think to ourselves, well, I'm just, I'm not going to look at the real thing, I'm just going to try to rearrange stuff, to you know, and it just doesn't work right, it's just not the way to go, so we all know that that can be Venus, Uranus.
But when that kind of like meddling this isn't quite the right solution to the problem comes in, while Jupiter's also opposite Pluto, that's where I feel like there could be some real kind of unhealthy, rebellious energies taking place, where you know it's like the what did they say, what's the phrase about the inmates running the prison or something like that. I mean, that's probably not the nicest thing to say, but I, I feel like there could be something unhealthy that tries to rise up and seize power.
And that could be just within ourselves, right? It doesn't have to be. I'm not, you guys know me, I'm not really a mundane astrologer. It's not my focus, so I'm not trying to make this mundane, although it could be. But I do think we have to be aware of what is trying to seize or shift power or dynamics, and how healthy is it? So that's something that is on my mind with this one.
Number three, karmic reprimands. Now, on the other hand, if there's something we need to see, especially if there's a level of accountability, you know, in in our relationships with other living beings that we need to see and acknowledge and learn from and grow from. I mean, that's part of life. Venus, Uranus, I would say, like when Uranus transited my natal Venus, transiting Uranus hit my natal Venus. Man, I learned a lot about my, my marriage, my, my relationship.
Like, I feel like I grew a lot as a person and continue to grow, but Uranus specifically will provide us with with breakthroughs and insights, but often they come by really showing us something that's been unconscious, which is why Uranus is sometimes associated with, like, a beam or bolt of light. Now, for example, I would like the big thing for me, and I'll share this openly, and I've shared this before on the channel, like when Uranus hit my natal Venus, the big thing was in realizing that elements of me and of my creative life had been neglected, so I started writing my book.
Elements of my marriage, because we had kids, had been neglected, so we started going on vacations together. But these things were not just like, hey, let's go on a vacation, they came through things reaching a point where a breakthrough was required, you know. And I feel like I feel like that camp. Be understated, so, but when we say, oh, you know, shit can hit the fan karmically. What we usually mean is that it's time for some kind of breakthrough.
The ultimate purpose is awakening, and is greater freedom, but we, we have to be aware of the fact that the awakening is not always easy and can be a little disruptive, and I think we can talk about that without it being fearful. Sometimes life just involves moments where something needs to wake up a little bit more, and that happens. I would also be one of the things that happens with Jupiter and the opposition to Pluto is that we can all also jump on, we can, we can get.. well, that's actually my next one.
So, I'll go into this. So, number four is a lack of fairness, reactivity, and lust. Let me.. they're not all exactly the same. So, let me explain this one. It's easy to react to things and to get spun out by things when the outer planets are engaged, because we're seeing things in the news often, and on the collective level, the outer planetary configurations usually bring things up that, like, a lot of people are seeing and witnessing and experiencing, even if it's not super personal, it's you still have a personal response.
You know, I remember when, you know, ICE was in Minneapolis here in the winter of 2026 and you know, you're for me, you know, I'm aware of what ICE is and what they're doing, and I, I'm aware of the news, but it's a little different when all of a sudden it's in your, in your city, you know, when something like that, that's in the collective, the conversation around these things is suddenly in your backyard, and it's affecting people you literally know, and that's true for all of us.
Things that are of collective concern sometimes they're just more distant because they don't overlap with our personal lived reality as much. And, of course, most - I would say most activism is usually spurned by having a real personal contact with something that's happening collectively or historically, and all of us have different personal spheres that overlap with different collective concerns.
And so we typically get involved with bigger ideological, spiritual, philosophical, political movements or interests or actions, specifically because of how they impact us personally, and so this is interesting, though, because it's a time where things can happen that can really get our attention, and go, that's not right, that's not true, that's not fair, that's not good, that's not just something like that, and as that's, as that's happening, we can become really, really reactive and spun out.
Which, so the thing that, in a way, what I could see happening during this transit is like we're witnessing something happening that we're having a strong personal response to, and there's good reason to have a strong personal response, but the question is, How do I be an effective, how do I effectively connect with what's happening in the world around me, or, and it might not be like the bigger collective world, it could be your family, or it could be your workplace, but it's probably something that's a little outside of us, because that outer planetary dynamic typically involves bigger containers that we're a part of.
So whatever that bigger container is, the point is that it'd be easy to be like something happens at work, for example, and you're just like, I quit, you know what I mean, or or something comes up and you have just that kind of hair trigger response, and I think the potential for something to happen that feels out of balance somehow, and that's that's represented by a Jupiter-Pluto opposition that's happening right now in the sky, as these two planets meet.
Whatever is feeling like, oh, it's really stirring you up. The Venus, Uranus in the background could say change everything quickly, right? But the same exact principle is true for, you know, not, you know, really looking at something deeply, rather than just, you know, getting a midlife car, that when powerful things are coming up, there's also the call is to be changed, be transformed, maybe be liberated from old patterns, but not be super reactive, and by reactive, I just mean unconsciously triggered into immediate unthoughtful responses that lack heart that lacks soul that lack thoughtfulness, so we have to be careful of that.
The other thing that can come up, which is sort of similar, is powerful things that can happen that suddenly get us really attracted and magnetized to someone or something, and the Jupiter Pluto opposition can be very powerful and compelling, something very bright, something very powerful, something very shiny is is bringing up creative tension within us that drives us like, like luster, desire towards something. Desire is not bad. We want to be careful, though, of like the moth to the flame thing.
Venus, Uranus can be very sparkly, Jupiter opposite Pluto can be very. Very big and compelling, so we just, again, the idea here is like if something happens in the negative that repels you, be thoughtful, be careful, be sensitive, be gentle, though, even if it's time to depart for something, end something, leave something, then the way you do it, it matters, but, but on the other hand, if something is appearing that's very compelling, magnetic, attractive, ooh, I want that.
Still be thoughtful, be careful of how you move toward what you're desiring. Either way, number five would be patterns of relationship changing. So this is just basic Venus Uranus. I mean, you know, I would say that the most exciting part about Venus and Uranus is that if a relationship is stuck, you know, you might rekindle the spark. If a real, if you're bored and dating, you might meet someone really interesting.
If you need to get out of a relationship, it might be time. If there's a breakthrough to be had around your body or your, your sexuality, this is a good time to have it. So, I think just any patterns being disrupted, changed, broken open, revolutionized around love, sex, relating, friendships, also things like sisters, women can, can be very powerful. So, anyway, that's it. That's that's what I've got for you today.
I hope this was interesting, gives you some good things to think about. We're all in this journey together. It's, I love doing this work. I, it means a lot to me. I hope that you find something positive, and that something in this content blesses your life and truly acts as a, as a positive force in your, in your soul. So, anyway, that's it for today. Hope you're having a good one. We'll see you again after the weekend. Bye.
